Pink Week Real Wedding, III

This week on SMP is all about raising awareness for breast cancer and celebrating the life of those who have been touched by this disease. In honor of breast cancer awareness month, we are GOING PINK. And this real wedding is seriously all about the pink…

How insane are these pink inspired details! They are literally dripping with luxury. Aaron Delesie, the beautifully talented photographer that sent me this wedding, has such an eye for detail. I love that each image really gets to the heart of the day. Whether it’s the perfect place settings or the gorgeous bride and groom, each image completely speaks to me.

Coming up next, we are celebrating pink fashions! Stay tuned!

SMP Loves…Brides Against Breast Cancer

Brides Against Breast Cancer sells donated wedding gowns and puts the proceeds toward the Making Memories Breast Cancer Fund! After your wedding, be sure and visit the Brides Against Breast Cancer website to learn how to package your dress and send it to the program. Your gown will be shown off at a gown sale where other brides to be can purchase it! The Making Memories fund helps grant the wishes of  Breast Cancer patients. What an amazing and inspiring way to help other women!

Pink Week Real Wedding, II

Today is all about pink fashions, but before we dive into our topic for the day, I wanted to share a few more images of the pink inspired wedding that Aaron Delesie sent to me! The pink fashions from this wedding are simple and pretty…a complete fairytale wedding.

I have a few more images from this beautiful real wedding to come!

Pink Week Real Wedding

To kick off today’s pink week feature (which is all about pink fashions), I wanted to feature this gorgeous real wedding that Aaron Delesie sent me. It is so pretty in pink, it’s hard not to love it!

Pink Inspired Wedding

I am so in love with this romantic affair, with such pretty pink details. The whole affair was coordinated by Details Details and I have to say, it was done so flawlessly!

Oh and the bride is actually a pretty well known model/actress! So pretty!

Pink Week’s Photographers, IX

If you missed our earlier posts, this week we are having a pink inspired fete to honor those who are fighting, surviving and those we’ve lost to breast cancer. Today is all about pink photography…images of those perfect little wedding details that turn a pretty evening into a completely memorable affair!

This next set comes to us by Sedona Bride, who we love here at SMP…

sedona bride

I am MADLY in love with that cake! And the hodge podge of pink bridesmaids dresses, paired with the more colorful floral…GORGEOUS!!! To see more pink hued Sedona Bride inspirations, click here!

Our next pink inspired photographs are by the amazingly talented Whitney and Jesse of Our Labor of Love in Atlanta. The cupcake and the candy shots actually made me go out and buy doughnuts this morning!

I love the vivid pink from this color palette…strawberry pink paired with bubblegum pink paired with a more raspberry hue. It’s a shock of color but one that just works! Pink is a perfect color to use on a candy buffet because it’s so vivid. It really makes a statement better than the more muted candy tones that you sometimes see (other than white, of course, which is as pretty as it gets).

Pink Week’s Photographers, VII

Our next photographer is a favorite on SMP…Myrtle and Marjoram! The soft pinks in this weddings color palette are so beautiful. They are feminine and elegant while still being incredibly sophisticated!

Myrtle and Marjoram also shot this wedding that we featured a while back…it seems like every photograph is thoughtfully planned and articulated. Each one is so clean, so sharp they just beg to be admired!

Pink Week’s Photographers, VI

Our next featured pink week photographer is Michèle M. Waite whose work is absolutely gorgeous. I love that the image itself is so bold, so vivid and yet the background just sort of fades away. The strength of each image paired with the softness of the day is absolutely beautiful!

The gorgeous flowers were designed by Steven Moore, who has so much floral eye candy on his site, it’s crazy. You’re sure to find tons of beautiful color palettes, ideas for bouquets and centerpieces and so much more, by spending a few minutes perusing his gallery!

And, for those of you that aren’t familiar with Michèle M. Waite Photgraphy, spend some time on her site…it’s filled with such beautiful photography and so many images that you can find inspiration and ideas for your own wedding.

Pink Week’s Photographers, V

This set of breast cancer awareness inspired favors was shot by Jen Fariello, whose clients were married in October of 2007. The bride’s mother lost her battle with cancer, so it was a way for her to remember her mother while supporting the fight…

Aside from the fun color palette and the touching favors…I love the photographs. The first one is so dreamy and ethereal…it speaks so much to Jen’s talents!

Pink Week’s Photographers, IV

This next set of pink details was shot by Lauren Rutten and is, in a word…scrumptious!

The wedding was planned by 6 Degrees of Celebration, another Little Black Book member, and together with Lauren, the images turned out absolutely beautiful. I mean those gorgeous pink flowers floating among the lily pads…in love!

Pink Week’s Photographers, III

This next set of pink inspired details, photographed by Kim and Niki, is completely sexy. Completely bold…

I am dying over that cake…the chocolate paired with the strawberry pink is gorgeous. It’s nice to see pink used in such a strong way. It’s still feminine but not in that over-the-top kind of way. Love!

Pink Week’s Photographers, II

This next set of pink inspired details, photographed by the incredibly talented Justin Marantz, is insane! Just look at those flowers…they don’t get much more beautiful that this!

I am completely smitten with everything about this look…from the long tables, to the delicate candle holders and opulent pink florals. It’s just so dreamy and romantic!

Pink Week’s Photographers

As I am sure most of you know, October is breast cancer awareness month. I lost my aunt to breast cancer 8 years ago, so I know this disease intimately and support the cause to find a cure with all of my heart.

So, in honor of those affected by breast cancer, we are having a week of pink! Throughout the next few days we’ll be featuring pink inspired work by some of our favorite Little Black Book members with the hope that not only will we inspire your wedding style, we’ll also encourage you to fight for the cure! Plus, we have some FANTASTIC giveaways scheduled, so you’ll want to check in often.

Today is all about photography…perfect pictures of perfect pink details! The first set is by IN Photography

The gorgeous flowers are by Garden of Eden and the cake is by Ned Archibald at Keystone Resort in Colorado. I love the bright colors…so vivid and alive!

We have tons of pink inspirations coming throughout the day. If you see something you like, print it out and put it in your binder…photographers, florists, cake makers, invitation designers, etc. all love to see exactly what you love!

SMP Celebrates Pink Week!

This week we are honoring all of those women, all of those families who have been touched in one way or another by breast cancer. We’ve scoured our Little Black Book, looking for pink ideas and wedding details that will not only inspire your wedding style, they will also remind you to hug your mom, your sister, your aunt, your best friend…and, to keep all of those who have known this terrible disease in your hearts and prayers.

DIY Inspired Wedding, III

I have a little bit more to share with you from today’s featured wedding shot by Cameron Clark. Everytime I look at these pictures, I want to get married all over again. This wedding is so understated, and yet the beauty of the day shines through every corner. I love that.

DIY Wedding

From Cameron, Carol and Steve…

Another really cool project…Carol repurposed a wedding invitation to conceal their vows. Designed by Carol and Steve’s friend, Kristie, is a local Flagstaff artist and teaches art to junior high students in Winslow. She designed them to be reminicent of the wedding site, and linoleum block printed an edition of 100. She signed and numbered each. The result was that each guest received a limited edition piece of art that commemorated our wedding as well as an invitation.

From Steve…my sister made the wedding cake. This caused great anxiety with my mother, who feared an amature cake might somehow be the wedding’s downfall, bringing only ruin and despair to our big day; my sister is an air traffic controller, and not a professional baker. The end result was beautiful, though, and was a great way to put money into areas our guests would appreciate more directly.

Oh, I just love all of these personal touches. Not only do they bring a sense of intimacy to the wedding…Steve and Carol now have so many stories to tell about their big day! Thanks, Cameron, for sending to us and a HUGE congratulations to Steve and Carol!

DIY Inspired Wedding, II

A bit more from today’s DIY Inspired wedding…

DIY Wedding

From Cameron, Carol and Steve…

The wedding was filled with DIY touches. Carol’s sister printed up, cut out, and pasted old family photographs to construction paper and then hung them on twine with clothespins on the “forest walk” to the ceremony site.  Every guest stopped to check out the photos.  It was a huge HIT!

Also in superb DIY fashion their friends cut out Aspen tree ‘rounds’ and arranged tabletop flowers within them. They turned out beautiful. Our friend David constructed these rounds by cutting a fallen aspen into sections and auguring multiple holes into each to contain the stems. He sealed the bottoms with a lacquer to prevent water from leaking onto the tablecloths.

Other tidbits…The bride’s friend Tamara arranged her bouquet using many local flowers including a huge sunflower.  They wrote their own vows, and used a beautiful wood-cut paper invitation to conceal them.

More to come!

DIY Wedding by Cameron Clark

I know that you guys are going to completely fall head over heels for this wedding, sent to me by one of our Little Black Book members, the wonderfully talented Cameron Clark. It’s everything a wedding should be and more. It’s sweet and romantic. It’s full of family and friends and smiles. It’s beautiful in it’s simplicity, it’s handcrafted elegance. Well, just see for yourself!

DIY Wedding

From Cameron…

Steve and Carol have been together forever. They even went to prom together! Their ceremony location was tucked behind some Aspen trees in the middle of the forest at 8,000 in Flagstaff, AZ and it was gorgeous. They made this wedding really reflect their personalities. They had lawn games and many DIY details. From the FANCY portable “Royal” restroom facility to the artist who crafted their invites, Carol must have spent hours dreaming up the details to her wedding.

More details and pictures coming soon!

SMP Loves…A Winter Wedding

As fall starts to settle in, the air has gotten a bit chillier up here and I decided to browse through our past winter weddings. I came across Rachel’s charming winter wedding and  thought you might want to take a trip down this snowy memory lane with me and remember her adorable “snow-girl” dresses, one of a kind custom bracelet, and of course that lovely cotton bouquet. I think you’ll find it truly enchanting!

Etsy Giveaway Winners!

We had a HUGE response to yesterday’s etsy giveaways! So, so fun! I randomly chose the winners, as everyone contributed so kindly, there was really no other way to do it. First, the winner of the completely adorable Elle F Designs custom cake topper…

The winner is Tara whose favorite etsy shop is Whichgoose with their amazing headpiece…

whichgoose

There really are no words as to how much I love these. I would kill to see a bride don one of these beauties, particularly the yellow flowers paired with a simple slim cut gown. Dying. Moving on to all of our other winners!

The lucky winner of the Paloma’s Nest wooden thank you notes is…Kristin!

“I am absolutely smitten by the simple ring bowl with wire loop – for wedding or commitment ceremony. It has an understated beauty that resonates. I’ve been searching for the perfect way to honor my grandmother during our wedding. Her favorite flower was a yellow rose. I would absolutely love to display a single stem yellow rose with our wedding rings in this bowl. This would be a wonderful way to honor my grandmother and a visible representation of her love that I carry with me always.”

The winner of the 8 mini notebooks by Every Jot and Tittle is…Summer!

“My favorite SMP posts are always the “real weddings”. I have looked through all of them so many times. It is easy to talk about great wedding ideas, or crafts…but getting to see it pulled together in real life helps so much more. The wedding posts of Kiki’s wedding has been a real inspiration. Like her I am trying to do as much DIY projects as I can and I loved hearing about what she did, how she did it, and then seeing exactly how it came out!!! Such a big help!

The Bel Canto Designs winner, with a $50 gift certificate is…Amy!

“Has to be the Isabella Vintage Rhinestone necklace – looks just like something my grandmother would have worn…”

If you won, I’ll be in touch shortly. And, thank you so much to everyone who participated! We are going to start having these giveaways more often so not to worry if you didn’t win! If you are an etsy seller that would like to participate in a giveaway, send me an email and we can chat!
