Admittedly, I have the best job in the world. I spend my days scouring the internet for beautiful things, walking the streets of Boston waiting to be inspired, roaming the aisles of my favorite little bookshop…all day, dreaming about weddings. On any given Tuesday, you might find me on my sofa, hovering over my laptop creating inspiration boards and color palettes, constantly getting sidetracked by all of the beautiful sites I’ve found along the way. Yes, I have a pretty killer job.

And yet, like most things in life, the path to get here has been a long and winding road. With big dreams and brief detours (including a stop at a public relations firm followed by a longer stay at a hedge fund), I jumped head first into the wedding industry, launching a line of wedding invitations called Abby Jean. After three years of blood, sweat and tears (literally) I sold my wonderful little company to Fontaine Maury who could take the brand on to bigger and better things.

As a way to stay connected to my industry, and continue to challenge myself creatively, I started Style Me Pretty….a chic blog for the style obsessed bride. As a blogger, I am forever in search of inspiration…whether it’s my grandfather’s sketches or my niece’s paintings, the perfect pair of ballet flats or a blush colored peony. There are no boundaries for inspiration just as there are no boundaries when it comes to Style Me Pretty.

Again, I have a pretty amazing job.

Target Registry Event Recap

I recently attended one of the coolest registry events ever hosted by Target.  It was one of those one-of-a-kind events where newly engaged couples and industry influencers mixed and mingled over wedding chat and bubbly, and it was all set against an oh-so-lovely NYC backdrop filled to the brim with...

From the amazingly awesome sign above the crib to the modern meets wonder kind of style, we're a little bit in love with this little bot and...

Chocolate Caramel Stout Float

Is there anything better than a root beer float? I'm glad you asked. Because there is. Especially if you're a grown up like me. Who doesn't mind themselves a nice frothy beverage once in a while. And particularly when said frothy beveraged is drenched in chocolate and caramel. Which is exactly what the lovely Melissa of Yours Truly did with this grown up version of an old classic. And before you go thinking that it's just too...

Behind the Blog with Julie Blanner

When I envisioned SMP Living, I saw a Modern Day Mrs. With or without a ring, the kind of girl that takes the time to learn the basics of planning a home and yet doesn't take herself too seriously. Who is delightfully flawed and yet the envy of all of her friends because she always has a cocktail and a great playlist a-waiting. Well, I'm pretty sure Julie Blanner has that role down to a science and today, she's opening the doors to all of...

The Amalfi Coast…Pregnant

Having had three beautiful babies, I can pretty much claim the title of Worst Pregnant Person EVER. I'm grouchy, splotchy, gigantic and generally just a miserable mess. So the idea of traveling far from my bed, much less out of the country like the lovely Jessica Lorren did, sounds a touch frightening. But, if I were to have laid eyes on these photographs...

Wrapping Paper Room

Raise your hand if you have a gift wrap room? I mean, can you imagine!? I would DIE. I have a gift wrap cart which I though was a total splurge. If I had a whole freaking room to hang all of those pretty ribbons and drape those handmade papers, umm, I would DIE! Did I say that already? Anyway, the talented team at Life.Style. did just that for one of their clients and when I say the results are flawless what I really mean is that if you...
