Admittedly, I have the best job in the world. I spend my days scouring the internet for beautiful things, walking the streets of Boston waiting to be inspired, roaming the aisles of my favorite little bookshop…all day, dreaming about weddings. On any given Tuesday, you might find me on my sofa, hovering over my laptop creating inspiration boards and color palettes, constantly getting sidetracked by all of the beautiful sites I’ve found along the way. Yes, I have a pretty killer job.

And yet, like most things in life, the path to get here has been a long and winding road. With big dreams and brief detours (including a stop at a public relations firm followed by a longer stay at a hedge fund), I jumped head first into the wedding industry, launching a line of wedding invitations called Abby Jean. After three years of blood, sweat and tears (literally) I sold my wonderful little company to Fontaine Maury who could take the brand on to bigger and better things.

As a way to stay connected to my industry, and continue to challenge myself creatively, I started Style Me Pretty….a chic blog for the style obsessed bride. As a blogger, I am forever in search of inspiration…whether it’s my grandfather’s sketches or my niece’s paintings, the perfect pair of ballet flats or a blush colored peony. There are no boundaries for inspiration just as there are no boundaries when it comes to Style Me Pretty.

Again, I have a pretty amazing job.

Blanco Cocktail

We spotted this cocktail over on this wedding and knew we needed the recipe. Aside from the gorgeous jewel toned hue, the muddled blackberry was enough to send us clear over the cocktail edge. And seeing that today is a day of celebrating (right?), we figured why not do Halloween up right with some seriously amazing cocktail treats. Photos by...

Classic Birthday Party

As we get older, it seems that birthdays often lose their magic. We are busy with work and friends and family and well, birthday parties tend to be defined by a few high fives and maybe a candle or two. But I am officially declaring birthdays a worthy excuse with each passing year a reason to do it up better and better. Thanks in large part to the gorgeous, intimate, smile inducing celebration that Yoleine of Yellow Bird Events...

Pretty in Pink Modern Nursery

My oldest daughter's nursery was sweet and pink and all out loveliness. My son's was a bit less lovely and my 5 month old's? Well, she doesn't have a nursery. She is actually currently sleeping in the bathroom because it's the darkest place I could find. But this little slice of nursery heaven - photographed to perfection by Jessica Lorren - reminds me that every little bitty needs a room to call their own - and one that is as soft and...

Real Housewives Dinner Party

I challenge you to find a bigger Real Housewives fan then me. Seriously. Bravo Andy is my everything and I've literally seen every episode of every franchise more than once. Probably more than twice. Root Beer Float with a Twist

I'm pretty sure that the Root Beer Float is sort of like the cupcake. Universally loved by all. But, the lovely Sarah at Juniper & Dash, is taking the classic to new places by adding a hint of Root Tea and a drop (or five) of warm caramel and the result is anything but ordinary. With photos by Alexandra Whitney, we're literally mixing one up as we speak. From Juniper...

Modern Lego Birthday Party

So when I show him this little lego inspired party - crafted by One Lovely Day with sweets by Sweet Bloom Cakes - I know exactly what he's going to say.
