Admittedly, I have the best job in the world. I spend my days scouring the internet for beautiful things, walking the streets of Boston waiting to be inspired, roaming the aisles of my favorite little bookshop…all day, dreaming about weddings. On any given Tuesday, you might find me on my sofa, hovering over my laptop creating inspiration boards and color palettes, constantly getting sidetracked by all of the beautiful sites I’ve found along the way. Yes, I have a pretty killer job.

And yet, like most things in life, the path to get here has been a long and winding road. With big dreams and brief detours (including a stop at a public relations firm followed by a longer stay at a hedge fund), I jumped head first into the wedding industry, launching a line of wedding invitations called Abby Jean. After three years of blood, sweat and tears (literally) I sold my wonderful little company to Fontaine Maury who could take the brand on to bigger and better things.

As a way to stay connected to my industry, and continue to challenge myself creatively, I started Style Me Pretty….a chic blog for the style obsessed bride. As a blogger, I am forever in search of inspiration…whether it’s my grandfather’s sketches or my niece’s paintings, the perfect pair of ballet flats or a blush colored peony. There are no boundaries for inspiration just as there are no boundaries when it comes to Style Me Pretty.

Again, I have a pretty amazing job.

Tamera Mowry Talks Mommyhood

When I was pregnant - and on bedrest - I used to stay up late with Tia and Tamera Mowry on their E! reality show. Aside from generally being adorable, I loved watching how they delicately balanced their own spunky personalities, their careers, their weddings and now babies. So when the LOVELY Tamera offered to give us an inside peak at her mom-spirations with...

Behind the Scenes with Winifred Paper Studio Tour

One of the most read and commented posts on Style Me Pretty actually took place on our Behind the Scenes blog, Backstage. It was a quick look at how I started a stationery business and the response that it garnered was crazy. So any chance I get to go behind the scenes with a stationer, I quickly jump on. Especially when said stationer is the lovely and talented Kelly Scarborough Watson of...

DIY Balloon Arch

So this project almost killed me. Literally. We got the idea from The House that Lars Built's amazing balloon arch right here, but tweaked it a bit to tower over a table full of little kids for our State Fair Birthday Party. This project is not for the faint of heart but if you follow the well...

DIY Marquee Light-Up Cake Topper

When I told Jess - our in house DIY guru - that I wanted a cake topper that lit up like a state fair marquee for Audrey's Birthday, I expected her to tell me that I was nuts. Because why would you want a cord coming off your cake? But then I sent her a link to the cordless, battery operated, miniature LED lights and boom. An idea was born.
