San Diego Wedding at The Prado from heidi-o-photo + First Comes Love

If you have ever been to San Diego, you know that frolicking around Balboa Park is one of the prettiest ways you can spend your day.  Smack dab in the middle of one of So Cal’s greatest cities, it’s gorgeous, full of fun and the perfect spot for saying “I do” with your closest friends and family.  Now add in a team of fabulous vendors (think heidi-o-photo, First Comes Love and Moments In Bloom), and it’s more than just a marriage celebration… it’s a crazy gorgeous party.  See so much more right here in the full gallery.

From the Bride… Although Andy and I live in Los Angeles, I knew instantly that I wanted to get married in my hometown of San Diego. My mom is from Algeria so I grew up with a lot of North African culture and influence. We wanted the wedding to be Moorish inspired and feel intimate and romantic. We instantly fell in love with The Prado at Balboa Park because of the striking architecture, beautiful landscape, and historic details. Our favorite part of the location was the grand ballroom, where the reception took place. The ballroom features beautiful dark hardwood floors, hand-stenciled doors, ceiling and beams in Spanish motif. The ceremony location took place in a Spanish inspired garden with a reflecting pool in the center and a lush canyon in the background. We used different sized lacy lanterns and candles to enhance the setting and create that romantic ambiance.

My favorite pictures are the ones walking through the park with Andy. I love how beautiful the sun looked glowing off of the buildings as we walked through the streets. It was a night we will never forget.

Portland, Oregon Wedding at The Benson from Brittany Lauren Photography

Pink and gold run through the veins of all of us at Style Me Pretty, so when we lay eyes on a wedding like this one from Brittany Lauren Photography, we can’t help but want to stop and stay awhile. Oozing with romance and timeless elegance, every single image sitting in this gallery makes us want to squeal with delight, and they are all sitting pretty right here.

From Brittany Lauren PhotographyAnna first laid eyes on Max at All Saints School in September of 1999. Anna was entering the 5th grade, and Max was transferring in as a 6th Grader. Anna was immediately smitten with Max, but it took him a little while longer to reciprocate Anna’s love. They started dating in high school at the age of 16 and fell in love very quickly. Max proposed to Anna under a meteor shower in Eastern Oregon on August 13, 2012. Anna was holding a can of Bud Light when Max dropped to one knee, flashed his million dollar smile and asked her, “Will you marry me?”

The two were married at The Historic Benson Hotel on October 12, 2013. It is one of Portland most oldest and most magnificent hotels! They call it the “residence of the Presidents” because every U.S. President has stayed there. The most important aspect of the wedding was for Anna and Max to stay true to who they are. They didn’t want anything lavish and over the top, but wanted to make sure their day was timeless, classic, and chic! They picked a color palette of black, gold, and blush pink, the bridesmaids wore full length black gowns, and all the men donned tuxedo’s. There was a very subtle 1920s nostalgic feel to the day with a hint of modern glitz and glam added in.

Romantic Fall Wedding in Montreal from Isabelle Paille

We chat about style a lot on SMP, but I am always amazed when I come across a couple that just seems to have more style in their pinky finger than I have throughout my entire body. One look at this romantic, Montreal wedding captured by Isabelle Paille, and it was obvious this was just such a couple. From the top of their heads to the tip of their toes, they’ve got this style thing down, and it showed in every moment of their gorgeous day. See it all here.

From Isabelle PailleLet me introduce you to Andre-Anne and Todd. She is french canadian from Montreal and Todd is from Toronto, Ontario. This blend of cultures, tastes, languages made this wedding one of the most magical one I had the chance to photograph. Andre-Ann is a fashion forward girl, and had a very clear idea in mind of what she wanted: an all Audrey Hepburn inspired kind of romance, with the lace, pink, roses and ranunculus, grey, velvet, pearls, candles, — and let’s not forget the hairstyle and mind blowing resemblance!– all of this in the most luxurious hotel in the city: Hotel St-James located in the old part of Montreal. A perfect blend, like they are, of romance and modernism. The event planning and Design was done by Blanc Events – in collaboration with Fleurs & Confetti for the flowers and the invitations – and the bilingual guest were treated to a bilingual very intimate ceremony, with texts from the Little Prince book that made everyone go awww, and were so in tune with their story. After the ceremony, guests were taken on a city bus tour while we were doing the couple pictures and then taken back to the cocktail. The day was a typical dark and rainy fall day, and both Andre-Anne and Todd were playful and joyful none the less and that made for authentic moody fall pictures too!

Thanksgiving and Hanukkah Inspiration Shoot from Rachel Gomez Photography

We like to celebrate over here on SMP, so when the holidays roll around, we get a little bit giddy. Ok, a lot giddy. Well, this year, with Thanksgiving and Hanukkah overlapping, it’s just that much better. It means more gatherings, more family, and more excuses to gussy up your holiday table, which we obviously adore. And thanks to Rachel Gomez and Decor Design Group filling our screens with inspiration for every evening, we think we have this holiday thing covered. See all the pretty here.

From Rachel Gomez PhotographyGrowing up in a multicultural home meant celebrating the whole Holiday Season, even though it often meant combining holidays that don’t quite go together, like Hanukkah and Christmas. Well this year, for the first and last time, Hanukkah and Thanksgiving share a day. This was a new one, even for us, so I decided to create some inspiration for three nights of Hanukkah, starting with Thanksgiving.

All three options were created using easy to find items, including mini pumpkins, fresh cranberries and pomegranates. Mandy created an almost effortless eucalyptus “runner” while Rachael, from Décor Design Group, pulled all the details together, including the macaroon-decorated chocolate cake and silver branch candelabra used as a Menorah. Silver and blue have been exhausted for years, so we worked with warmer, more organic colors that take you from fall to winter. Gallery 1261 provided an incredible backdrop with stunning paintings from Ron Hicks, bathed in natural light, against dramatic painted walls.

Thanksgiving falls on the second night of Hanukkah, so we decided to work with metallic accents that still feel like fall, such as gold mini pumpkins, the silver Menorah, gold feathers and candles. Loose cranberries added little pops of color, while two pomegranates sat at either end of the table. Allowing the dark tabletop to show, with the runner highlighting the Menorah, is one option with real impact.

For our second inspiration, we picked the fourth night, and the last day of November. This time, we started with a more nostalgic and fun approach. Dreidels and chocolate gelt dressed the table, with mini sweet apples and rock candy on each plate. We loved the idea of an intimate dinner feeling decadent with two tiny cakes, chai tea, and coconut with edible gold stars. We used a piece of antique brocade fabric as our runner to make the Menorah stand out in a new way.

For our third inspiration, we wanted to take our guests into December. We loved the classic white linens and place cards, and the contrast with strong winter colors: silver, gold, green and red. The red wall and artwork compliment the intimacy and elegance of the table. All nine candles of the Menorah lit (eight for each day, one to light each candle), created warmth and a stunning centerpiece.

Only once will Thanksgiving and Hanukkah be celebrated together, so let’s make it a great night! Or even better, celebrate for all eight nights!

Costa Rica Wedding from Chris Bailey Photography

A holiday weekend in paradise overflowing with fun-filled activities and lounging on the beach – this, my friends, is exactly what a destination wedding should be.  An intimate celebration with your nearest and dearest, all capped off with a drop-dead gorgeous party.  It’s the perfect way to say “I do”… made even more perfect with an entire gallery of lovely captured by Chris Bailey Photography.  Join me there for so much more.

Papagayo, Costa Rica at the Four Seasons, rehearsal on Playa Blanca, ceremony on the Four Seasons lawn, set off wish lanterns on beach after the ceremony for good luck, only immediate family.

Brittany Sakowitz (founder of NewfortheNight.com) and Kevin Kushner, Houston residents, escaped to Costa Rica with immediate family over Thanksgiving holiday to get married. The family stayed at the Four Seasons Papagayo where they zip lined, played volleyball and hiked through the rainforest leading up to the wedding weekend. Chris Bailey, from Houston, joined the event to photograph and the bride’s brother-in-law, Evan Miller, took the video.

From Kristin La Voie Photography… Our stunning bride Tarah describes the wedding theme as Midsummer Night’s Dream with decor full of fairies and butterflies, lace, baby’s breath, and rustic outdoorsy elements. The gorgeous mismatched pink bridesmaids dresses, the elegant florals and baby’s breath in all the girls’ hair, the kissing balls lining the aisle, and the old skeleton keys on all the tables and in the escort table were so thoughtfully made and executed perfectly. I literally felt like I had stepped into a fairytale with the most beautiful and down to earth couple on their wedding day. Tarah was the most stunning bride I have ever seen, and the choice of ThunderHawk Golf club was an excellent choice for this Orange County, CA couple!

Long Island Vineyard Wedding from Lindsay Madden Photography

No matter how many times I see a minty blue I do, my heart still flutters. It’s the one hue I can’t seem to get enough of, but with weddings like this Long Island stunner from Lindsay Madden, there’s no reason I should. Decked out with fabulous paper goods from Momental Designs and neutral yet wildly stunning blooms by Sprout Home, I think we’ll all be doing some serious swooning right here.

From Lindsay Madden Photography…. I absolutely love Long Island’s wine region. So when Allyza & Bobby asked for me to photograph their August wedding at Raphael Winery I was incredibly happy. Shooting out east is special. The North Fork is only ninety miles from New York City yet I always feel like I’m shooting a destination wedding. Allyza & Bobby’s day was was elegant and romantic yet, they still managed to incorporate the laid back feel the vineyard had to offer. With cocktails starting at 2pm and the party going to midnight, this couple knew from the very beginning that their family and friends were their priority. I am so grateful to have been able to photograph their perfect summer affair!

Bohemian Chic Inspiration Shoot at Liberty Hotel from Shannon Grant Photography

On its own, this beautiful inspiration session is an amazing work of art; a bohemian-inspired masterpiece crafted by some of Boston’s finest vendors, with enough pretty to last your entire work week.  But look beyond those gorgeous florals from Whim Events  and enchanting images captured by Shannon Grant and this, my loves, is sooo much more than that.  In fact, it’s a workshop dedicated to raising funds for one very, very amazing cause – Images for a Cure.  Heartwarming, pretty and so, so, so awesome. Click here for more.

And a little behinds the scenes peek at all of the amazingness from Shannon Grant Photography

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/58625608 600 338]

From Shannon Grant Photography… Every year I contribute to an amazing non-profit called Images for a Cure that benefits the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Usually it consists of a day of portraits and the session fees are all donated. This year, I wanted to do something different so I planned a workshop for aspiring wedding photographers instead! Reaching out to some amazing local wedding vendors for help styling, we came up with a city chic theme with a Bohemian nod. Something very Boston but with a different flavor to give it that more fairy-tale, organic vibe I love!

With the help of the generous vendors involved, awesome photographers, and one of my very own “Real Brides,” we raised over $1200 for the BCRF. I’m hoping to do another of these events for 2014 and with any luck, we’ll raise even more to go towards this worthwhile cause!

Old Town Alexandria Wedding from Love Life Images

When you marry a fashion blogger, you’re in for a super stunning day (and you’re most definitely one lucky groom). Love Life Images captured a wedding fit for the most beautiful of fashion bloggers, planned and perfected by Kelley Cannon Events and I’m feeling inspired. Everything from the seafoam bridesmaids to the sweet flowers the best kind of pretty, and lucky for you, it’s all right here.

From the bride… When Mark and I started planning our wedding, it became very clear to us that we both had the same priority in mind: throw an epic party. Mark quickly took over crafting a song list that was worthy of dancing and cartwheels (yes, my husband does cartwheels at every wedding we go to!), while I focused my efforts on all the pretty, romantic details of the wedding. To say I got into the details is an understatement! As a fashion blogger, I’m already a bit in love with reading blogs and browsing Pinterest, so it was an easy transition to focus my efforts on wedding planning.

My vision for the wedding? Romantic, whimsical, colorful, and local. After looking at one venue (yes, only one!), we knew we had hit the jackpot. The Hotel Monaco in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia is only a mile from our house. Alexandria is where we feel the most comfortable, the most at-home, so there was something really special about sealing our love here. Many of our vendors work with the Hotel Monaco on a regular basis, so our entire day was a well-oiled machine — despite a huge art festival happening the same weekend that closed down all the streets surrounding the hotel! Fortunately, this busy event only added to Old Town’s charm and made for some fun photos.

Besides finally getting to see Mark at the end of the aisle (a feeling I’ll never ever forget — I’m getting goosebumps just writing this), my favorite part of the big day was seeing all the colorful little details come together. After months of scouring the depths of Etsy and hunting for vintage bottles, it all came together even better than we imagined. I cannot thank Love Life Images, The Enchanted Florist, my Etsy vendors, our crafty moms, and coordinator Kristen Puzzo with Kelley Cannon Events enough for bringing my colorful turquoise and coral vision to life.

Every bride tells you that your wedding day will absolutely fly by. What I’ll remember most is seeing our wonderful family and friends dancing their shoes off, laughing, hugging, and jumping up and down with us from the first song to the last. My feet may never be the same from all that dancing and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I look forward to a happy and joyful marriage — and always having a dance partner by my side.

A Shabby Chic Bedroom

If there’s anyone who’s able to find the silver lining amongst chaos it’s our dear friend Beth Chapman. When an old oak tree all but destroyed their former bedroom during Hurricane Sandy a few years ago, Beth took the opportunity to create her dream bedroom (one she had been planning in her mind for years). Infused with shabby chic elements of the loveliest kind, you can see her vision come to life right here.

And if you know us at all by now, you know that we can’t resist a good ol’ shopping guide. Here are a few shabby chic inspired pieces to to help bring a slice of cozy, uber-feminine comfort into YOUR home!

From Beth Chapman, stylist and owner of The White Dress by the Shore… My husband Mark and I have wanted to redesign our bedroom ever since we moved into our house 10 years ago! Unfortunately, it always fell to the back burner and other house projects took precedent. Last October we were forced into a bedroom redesign by a pesky lady named Sandy! During Super Storm Sandy, an 80 foot oak tree fell on our house and landed on one of our bedroom dormers. Thank goodness the dormer was there, as the tree would have fallen straight through to the first floor! The dormer collapsed into the room bringing part of the ceiling with it and collapsing the built-in book case that was below it. We were unable to live in the bedrooms for 6 months until the structural work could be done to repair the roof, the dormer and the ceiling in the bedroom. During that time, I worked with Hartley and Hill to put into place a design that my friend Sara Hartley had created for me years prior.

From Hartley and HillAfter getting to know Beth, we thought it was important to design a space that truly represented her both style and functional necessities in her master bedroom for her and her husband. Knowing that she’s a bridal boutique owner and stylist, we knew right away that she loves texture! From ruffled linen to chenille, we thought that fabrics friendly to cuddling with up with the rest of the family (and pets!) were a must. Keeping the room in the original green hue, as selected by Beth and Mark, we wanted to incorporate soft blues, taupes and creams, with the occasional pink accent. As business owners, having a small working area in their room was essential. We had this beautiful antique secretary refinished in a grey puddy tone with new antique brass hardware to allow them to close their work space at the end of the day.

Thanksgiving Pies + Party Round-Up

We’ve been feasting on three solid days of Thanksgiving Goodness. But really, what’s a turkey day without a glorious pie. Or five. The recipes that we’ve debuted are all iterations on classic, beloved ideas. And to keep things consistent, so are these heavenly pies. The simple, loved must-haves that seem to grace nearly every thanksgiving table that we’ve ever been to. All, adapted from other well known recipes to our own taste, with a result that borders on dangerous.

PECAN PIE RECIPE  |  PUMPKIN PIE RECIPE  |  APPLE PIE RECIPE

Every year, when it comes to Thanksgiving, we sift thru what feels like mountains of recipes. And frankly, we’re a little tired. This year, we are all craving, simple, beautiful, effortless ideas and recipes that are slam dunks. That we could make ahead, that we could trust and know would turn out perfect every time. So that’s what our 2013 Thanksgiving was all about. No fail, make the night before goodness that you just know are going to wow your guests. So YOU..can sit back and actually enjoy the day.

Austria Wedding from Iconoclash Photography

You know what’s refreshing? This wedding day recap from the world’s sweetest groom. Written in his very own words, he spells out the story behind this whimsical Austrian lovefest almost as beautifully as Iconoclash Photography captured. Dive head first into the gallery of pretty right over here.

From the Groom… After having been together for quite some time, I proposed to Cordula during a holiday at the Corcovado in Rio de Janeiro. Grooms, if youre looking for a nice spot to pop the question I can really recommend this place, it was fantastic! We both knew we didn’t want to have a religious ceremony, but we still wanted to have a solemn and festive ceremony with all our friends and family, so we opted for a civil marriage outdoors on the grounds of our location, Palais Laudon. Both during the planning and on the day we were really happy to have the support of our wedding planner Maryam from yam yam Event Productions. She helped us right from the beginning, from the location search to the programme design, and we developed an overall theme and colour scheme together, loosely based on a tropical theme, as we both love to travel and I had proposed in Brazil.

While Maryam took care of all the details we concentrated on the things we enjoyed most, like trying different cakes, picking our clothes, etc. I think this helped us a lot in being relaxed and at ease during the actual wedding day.

Apart from the actual ceremony and exchange of the rings, which was of course a very special moment, one of Cordulas fondest memories was getting ready in the Hotel with her girls. They put on some favourite music and really had fun prettying up, getting professional make-up and hair, and posing for photos.

Another favourite moment was the couple shoot we did with our photographers Teresa and Daniel. Even though they were there photographing us, they managed somehow to make us really feel at ease… We ended up feeling like there was just us, and we got to really enjoy these moments together.

For us, our wedding day was truly a perfect day. It was amazing to feel that everything was just falling into place, and we really got to enjoy and fully live every moment of the day. I wish every couple that they can do just that – live each moment of the day fully and enjoy it!

Malibu Wedding from Amanda McKinnon Photography

Malibu is known for its sandy shorelines and celebrity sightings, but after fawning over this beauty at Cypress Sea Cove by Amanda McKinnon Photography, its obvious it should be known for so much more. With a simple yet sophisticated style all of their own, this couple took their vision for their perfect day – filled it with florals from The Little Branch and delicious eats from Auntie Em’s Kitchen – and ultimately created a Malibu memory all of their own. And lovelies, it was gorgeous. See it all here.

From Amanda McKinnon Photography …Hana and Harry are such an amazing couple to start, such great taste and elegant simple style. Their wedding was simple, romantic, and very intimate. Details filled with personality and perfect elegance. Their florals were all so unique and organic, deep plums and rich purples- figs, artichokes, and other plants I have never even seen in a table scape before! Hana and Harry’s wedding was a very honest expression for the love for one another and the love and importance of family to them. Not a typical beach wedding, but a very very beautiful bluff wedding. Simple and oh so sweet perfection.

From the Bride….When Harry and I started talking about what we wanted our wedding to be like we knew we wanted three things: 1) a beautiful setting with trees AND ocean, 2) amazing food, and 3) lots of fun and dancing. To make sure we had all these things, the first two decisions we made, almost simultaneously, were venue and caterer.

We looked at numerous beautiful venues in Malibu, but when we found Cypress Sea Cove, we knew it was the right place. A storybook Cape Cod house surrounded by expansive, grassy lawns and tall, beautiful cypress trees, with gorgeous ocean views, it had a vibe of relaxed elegance, relying on natural beauty instead of artifice, that we really loved. I think we were really sold when we realized it had a beach bar on the sand too— just the right little element of fun, and the perfect place to host Harry’s pre-ceremony reception (tish) a Jewish tradition we wanted to include.

One of a couple “foodie” caterers we considered, we ultimately chose Auntie Em’s Catering because we knew they could execute the food deliciously and present it beautifully, and because their coordinator Elayne was willing to undertake our somewhat unusual request of finding a way to spit roast a whole lamb for us in addition to their normal catering options (something Harry had really set his heart on). Elayne and chef Terri Wahl of Auntie Em’s created a food lover’s dream for us. Served on the lavishly decorated buffet (so everyone could eat just as much or as little as they wanted), the food was delicious and everyone debated whether they liked the perfectly seasoned lamb shank or the tenderly roasted whole lamb more. The bartenders served our custom designed cocktails, and the amazingly delicious and moist red velvet cake was so beautiful with its simple decoration of fresh flowers. (I’m still craving that cake and might have to go visit their restaurant for more.)

A recently married co-worker recommended her florist, and I was delighted when I met Meg and Annie of The Little Branch at their downtown LA studio. Again, a vendor who was not only willing but excited to take on another unusual request. To create the feel of a banquet, we wanted to arrange our long rectangular guest tables in a square around the dance floor and instead of traditional centerpieces, I wanted four 24-foot long garlands of greenery interwoven with bright blooms in plum, wine, and fig tones running the length of each table, scattered with candles, again giving it that feel of easy elegance and a bit of old world charm. I had spoken with a couple florists before who told me it was a bad idea or impossible, especially for my budget. The ladies of The Little Branch were more than happy to tackle my vision and they knocked it out of the park at a price we could afford. I could not have imagined more beautiful flowers not only on the tables, but in the bouquets and corsages, and on the chuppah. Their inventive use of traditional flowers like roses and anemones blended with figs, blackberries, scabiosa, and other unusual flowers and herbs was at once fresh, exquisitely gorgeous, and yet still understated.

To round out the décor, I executed some DIY projects of my own with vintage French graphics for the programs, menus, place cards, and table numbers, that coordinated with our invitations, which I also created using our vintage French monogram (H+H) and sealed with burgundy sealing wax. But as Harry had said from the beginning, less would be more with our venue. We used a light hand when it came to décor, relying on the carefully cultivated natural beauty around us to charm our guests into relaxing and having a great time.

The details and mood of everything we created was captured by our wonderful photographer Amanda McKinnon with her beautiful and timeless style. She and her second shooter fell into the flow of the day with ease and she worked through the posed photos with a professional efficiency that allowed us to get all the requisite family groupings and join our cocktail hour (something I was convinced was impossible).

We are so grateful to everyone who contributed their talents to that day, from Auntie Em’s and the Little Branch for collaborating to create the most beautiful reception ever, to our DJ Scott Norris, who kept us on the dance floor all night long, and to our coordinator Carina McGlaughlin who was putting out little fires all night with unflappable calm; we, along with our family and friends, had so much fun! It was certainly everything Harry and I could have hoped for, a wonderful way to mark our joy and our commitment to each other.

Ginger Pomegranate Sparkler

Let’s face it, nobody wants to be playing bartender whipping up elaborate cocktails all day long. If you’re anything like us, you’d much rather kick back with your family, bevvy in hand. Which is why we decided to concoct a super fancy sparkling cocktail that feels totally festive, yet is a breeze to throw together. Prep the mix before hand, pour into a flute and top with champagne. It’s a party in a glass and it’s a sure hit!

Seattle Wedding from Tonhya Kae Photography + VOWS Wedding & Event Planning

First of all, this bride has been waiting to share these pictures with us since the day she got engaged. How cute is she?! It came as no surprise, therefore, that her wedding was a beautiful Seattle affair, complete with the cutest puppy flower girl you’ve ever seen – in true SMP dog adoration fashion. Planned by VOWS Wedding & Event Planning and captured by Tonhya Kae Photography, we’ve been chomping at the bit to tell the lovely bride that we love every single moment. X’s and O’s to her!

From the beautiful bride… I have been dying to submit our wedding to your blog since my husband proposed. We just got our wedding pictures this week and after sending them to family, Style Me Pretty was my next stop! Our wedding was fun, easy, modern, glittery and the perfect reflection of us!

From the beginning we wanted to include all the things we love most: our English Bulldog- Clementine, Seattle, our best friends, our favorite foods, and our family. I had been imagining my wedding for ages, so when David proposed I already had a vision.

Our colors were navy, lilac and gold…although I managed so slip some leopard print in wherever possible. Most of the details were done by my mom and me. The lanterns were from Ikea and had to be spray painted gold, all the programs were hand made, and then, of course, there was the quilt. My mom is an incredible quilter so she made us a wedding quilt to use as a guest book. The front was finished and hanging behind the table and the back was going to be made out of the fabric squares left out for the guests to sign. She also made all the programs with the fabric from the quilt on the front and gold glitter paper on the inside. Then she made matching bunting to hang on the tables and pillows for the rented couch–basically she’s incredible!

Before the ceremony we opened our gifts from each other. David gave me a beautiful second diamond wedding band and I gave him a wedding card that I had gotten signed by the entire Seattle Mariners Baseball Team…who, until me, were the loves of his life! The first thing he said to me after “you’re so beautiful” at our first look was “ohmygod, the Mariner’s card!”

We had a short non-traditional ceremony with two readings: “Falling in love is like owning a dog.” and “Appache Wedding Blessing”. Our wedding date was my late grandma’s birthday, and I had pictures of both my grandma’s hanging from my bouquet. I walked down the aisle to Canon in D and our recessional song was Make My Dreams Come True by Hall and Oates. Our English Bulldog was our flower girl and walked my mom down the aisle.

Our reception was a blast. It was filled with delicious food: chicken and waffles, burgers, fries, cupcakes, etc. We also had a photobooth that was a huge hit and served as our favors. For drinks we served our favorite drinks: Sofia cans of wine, Summer Shandys, Arnold Palmers, and a few other beers and wines. Our first dance was to I can’t help falling in love with you by Elvis. The wedding was an incredible whirlwind, but our amazing photographers and videographers made sure that we’ll always remember every minute!

Russian Wedding from Max Koliberdin

You wouldn’t know it now, but I was a bit of a tomboy growing up. Things slowly started to shift as I got older, and I attribute that change to the first time I laid eyes on a peony. I just couldn’t deny its pink, fluffy perfection. And it was downhill from there. Nowadays I swoon over all things pink, pretty and elegant day in and day out – so this wedding from Max Koliberdin? I couldn’t love it more. With its picture perfect palette, peony-filled bouquets and swoon-worthy details, It’s enough to bring any tomboy over to the bright side for a bit, and you can see all the reasons why right here.

From the Bride…Denis and I knew we wanted to get married at restaurant “Volzhskaya Zhemchuzhina” (in English it translates to something similar to “The Pearl of Volga”) on Volga river in my native town Yaroslavl’, we have the pleasant associations with this place and it is full of romance for us, because we met each other there.

When we started wedding planning with Inna from “A Special Day” we decided on classic style and practically classic colors: pale pink, mauve and grey plus black and silver details – it came out as I dreamed!

It was the most beautiful and awesome day in my life: Denis’s touching vow, our happy tears on the ceremony and amazing celebration with our family and close friends.
