Elegant Vow Renewal in the Heart of Rome

My new Mr. doesn’t know it yet, but I’m already planning our future vow renewal. Can you blame me? I think not. Not when O’Malley Photographers and The Wedding Care send over a beauté like this one, set in the heart of Rome. Can you even handle that floral crown? And those shoes. More this way!

From Cristina Ditta of The Wedding CareImagine wandering through an enchanted neighborhood in the heart of Rome, immersed in the scent of an orange grove and in the song of the sparrows. There’s a hidden little spot where it seems that time has never gone by, where the majestic beauty of the Eternal City, with its palaces and its art is the protagonist. The Wedding Care designed, planned and coordinated a romantic wedding vow renewal event that felt like being suspended in time. O’Malley Photographers captured every second of it.

Martina and Emiliano are one of the most gorgeous couples I have ever met. I have known them for some years now having also organized their wedding! When they came to me with the wish to renew their vows I was so excited because they were not only married, but were also head over heels in love with each other, something that is evident the moment you meet them. They are truly a lovely couple.

The bride wore a stunning ivory “Dress Ruota” 100% silk gown designed by Santarella, a gorgeous floral crown crafted with dark red English roses, nude and white carnations hybrid and blush rose branches realized by Nina E I Fiori.

The lovely couple enjoyed the magnificent beauty of the environment while sipping their authentic Italian espresso in beautiful porcelain by Seletti (courtesy of èstile concept store) and indulging in exquisite cakes and chocolates by Rosaria Garzone Cakes. When the last slice of cake was eaten and the sun went down, the special day designed by The Wedding Care and captured by O’Malley Photographers might have ended, but the fairy tale of a life together will never end.

Romantic Flower-Filled Tuscan Wedding

Impending bad weather couldn’t deter from the magical wedding wonderland created by Enzo Miccio for this summer celebration. Overflowing with roses and proteas, and a dress fit for a princess (courtesy of Enzo Miccio Bridal Collection), this wedding was made for royals; take a look at Alfonso Longobardi’s pics and I dare you to disagree. From Enzo Miccio… Who doesn’t dream about a wedding in an enchanting forest where nature is the protagonist? For those who love natural greenery and the wild, the forest offers a unique and surreal atmosphere in which the architecture is determined by the nature, where timeless reigns.

This was the mood with which Anna and Philip united each other in marriage: he, a charming boy coming from South Africa, her, an English and sweet girl, who dreamed to reality of looking like a fairytale princess. Both of them wanted to be the protagonist of the fairytale atmosphere, where enchanted creatures, fairies and elves were the co-stars in this magical and enchanted wedding.

After long and careful research, the famous wedding planner Enzo Miccio, commissioned by the couple, found in Tuscany the ideal place to organize their special wedding. Moreover, Tuscany is a place of charm especially for British people.

Anna and Philip chose to celebrate their wedding in June 2014 with a fabulous 3-day outdoor wedding event in a elegantly-decorated area at the beautiful Borgo Pignano, a 750-acre country estate between Volterra and San Gimignano. The thoroughly enchanting Pignano estate features an elegant 18th Century manor house and surrounding stone farmhouses, gardens, meadows, pools, small lakes, orchards, woodlands and waterfalls.

Unfortunately the weather prediction of that weekend was disastrous. Luckily Enzo Miccio, knows how quickly Tuscany climate could change, therefore during the organization of the wedding event he prepared a plan B, C and D, too.

How could he realize the dream of Anna who looked at him with her big blue eyes, and to whom he had promised the staging of a fairytale? The dark clouds never left us, until 5pm, when a storm arrived which hit us with such violence that left us all in silence. The torchon of flowers, organza curtains, the little chairs in white wood decorated with wreaths of olive trees and ivy, the string ensemble, the bridesmaids with their wonderful dress in satin and chiffon, beautiful bouquet made with proteas (flower that Anna dedicated to Philip), peonies, roses and sand-colored sweet pea… everything seemed to have been broken.

Enzo ran to embrace and reassure Anna, everything would be just as well, that she would have this very special marriage, she only had to wait a while before marrying her Phil. A flute of champagne to make her smile return and then Enzo went into the forest with his gray soaked attire. He summoned Philip’s best men and his assistants under a weak but always relentless rain. So armed with rags they dried the chairs, created a makeshift gazebo to protect musicians, distributed 200 white umbrellas, and replaced the damaged flowers.

Finally, Enzo ran to Anne with the sealed wonderful Valentino white macramé wedding shoes and told to her that her wedding dream would become reality anyway, even with the weather.

And so it was… Anna and Philip had their enchanted fairytale and after the ceremony, the couple and their guests from the UK, South Africa and all around the world, enjoyed aperitifs on the pretty lawns overlooking the breathtaking Tuscan countryside views before the wedding banquet was served in a marquee in the gardens in front of the manor house.

After the wedding banquet and after cutting of the wedding cake – which had been delicately and beautifully decorated by the bride’s mum – the couple and their guests danced the night away on the dancefloor of an open marquee, decorated with chandeliers, pretty sofas and fabulous floral arrangements.

Romantic Italian Villa Boudoir Session

An ethereal boudoir session in a sixteenth century Italian villa? Seriously, is this real? Lucky for us it is and Greg Finck’s pics show in all their beyond beautiful glory that Italy is the place to be for such effortless beauty. Villa Buonaccorsi was the perfect backdrop for Honey and Cinnamon Italian Wedding Planners’ shoot, complete with a gown that makes me go gaga. See all this gorgeous goodness right here!

From Greg Finck PhotographyThe Marche Region in Italy is unknown to many. It is however breathtakingly beautiful thanks to a very rich artistic, cultural and culinary heritage. The region is full of amazing landscapes with vineyard-covered hills plunging into the sea, and wonderful venues such as Villa Buonaccorsi. This majestic venue located on the hills was the perfect backdrop to this shoot.

Designer Honeymoon and Cinnamon Italian Wedding Planner imagined this boudoir shoot, inspired by the architectural style of the venue, dating back from 1500. The interior design of the venue is indeed full of walls in neutral colors and empty rooms echoing of ancient splendors with frescoed ceilings and huge windows facing the interior patio.

We opted for a neutral color palette to highlight the effortless beauty of our bride. Floral design was perfectly nailed by Italian floral designer Isa Events and our bride evolved in a beautiful and fluid Cortana gown. The olive tree hair accessory, designed by The Wild Rose reminded of the Roman ancient Italian empire, and still echoes the ancient gloriousness of this Villa and region.

Rustic Family-Oriented Wedding Under the Tuscan Sun

This wedding is like the movie “Under the Tuscan Sun”: every detail has me ready to move to a little town tucked away in Tuscany. But, the next best thing to la dolce vita are these photos from Lisa Poggi of all the pretty planned by Super Tuscan Wedding Planners—from the couple’s daughters who served as bridesmaids to the handmade wedding rings and vintage Fiat getaway car. From Super Tuscan Wedding PlannersThis romantic couple traveled to Italy with their entire family for their blessing. This is Ingrid and Jeroen’s special wedding in Tuscany! Ingrid and Jeroen decided that pure nature would be the key player for their big day! The wedding ceremony was held in a wheat field set within the Tuscan countryside with olive groves in the background. Bales of straw decorated with pretty white fabric and cushions were used for seating instead of the classical benches or chairs…can you imagine anything more country? Simplicity was the keyword to their union but the details were what made this country wedding in Tuscany special!

The morning started with the ladies getting ready in a venue near the beautiful Tuscan town of Cortona. The bride and the little bridesmaids decorated their heads with braids, flowers and colorful ribbons and a red Fiat 500 car took them to the ceremony location. The bride’s white gown and the bridesmaids’ white dresses were the perfect contrast with the rural Tuscan landscape and the symbolic wedding ceremony began with the best premises! And it seemed that not only Ingrid and Jeroen were going to get married but that their three daughters would join in as they sat with their parents in front of the celebrant! As unusual as the bride’s orange shoes and the handmade wedding rings were, the ceremony was touching as well as amusing! And all those present that day would surely agree!

This couple requested an eco & country wedding and that’s exactly what they got! The ring cushion was pure country style: a bunch of straw nicely tied up with string, with two white roses as decoration. The dominating color was white with pink details here and there, in places such as the bouquets hanging from the trees, all the details at the wedding reception table and the wedding cake that was tastefully decorated with edible rose colored flowers! Well, even the champagne was rose & pink!

The great Tuscan sun shining bright in the sky and the joy of this happy day made this country wedding in Tuscany perfect in its simplicity! The couple then decided to have a religious blessing, this was very important for them and the three little bridesmaids. And now this story ends..well, at least their wedding day does, ‘cause this couple started their new life together by taking a journey through the Tuscan countryside and its most beautiful cities like Cortona, on board a vintage & country red Fiat 500 car!

Romantic Jewish Terrace Wedding in Tuscany

When your venue happens to be a villa owned by an Italian designer (ever heard of the Ferragamo family?) your wedding is guaranteed to have style. David Bastianoni was behind the lens of this country-chic affair with an imperial twist, Italia Celebrations created a picturesque day complete with L’Arte Della Torta Di Melanie Secciani cakes and endless romance.

From David BastianoniIn the heart of Tuscany lies Il Borro , a spectacular Relais and Chateaux owned by the Ferragamo family perfect for a wedding with big style!

The ceremony was held in the big space near the Villa, where the Groom arrived with all their friends, and the Bride (lovely in her dress) with her mum.

Bridesmaids in their beautiful dresses — pastel blue and bouquets in pale pink, create an atmosphere of fairy tale. The Groomsmen in a country-chic style, make it even more impressive ceremony.

All the emotions are read on the faces of the two mothers … and you know … the mother is always the mother!!!

Everything was continued in the wonderful Italian garden and guests were entertained by the typical Italian products and sparkling wine, between song and typical Jewish dance.

The two imperial tables in the terrace of the Villa created a picturesque view and warm color where everyone enjoyed the delicious dinner, while the gorgeous flower arrangements created a friendly and romantic atmosphere for all.

Rustic + Elegant Tuscan Wedding Inspiration

This time of year is extra magical; everything is blooming, colors are popping up everywhere. And this inspiration shoot, set among the rolling hills of Tuscany, captures that amazing energy and more. Melanie Nedelko’s pics are pure art and this scene created by A Very Beloved Wedding has grabbed hold of my heart and isn’t letting go anytime soon. From the gorgeous Milia Ink stationery, to the beautiful Victoria Rüsche dress, to the La Chia headpieces, get swept away in all this Italian romance right this way!

From the Melanie NedelkoMyself and the Event Designer and Planner, Elisabeth & Lorinda, from A Very Beloved Wedding, produced and creatively directed a Styled Shoot called “Toscana Nascosta” based on Goethe’s Italian journey. This shoot is about slipping away from duties, trying to discover yourself through the things you see, finding a meaning to words, learning to know yourself by and through objects of beauty, getting inspired, feeling free, happy and in love… unconditional love. Goethe was seeking paradise, just as we do, and he found it in Italy, just as we did.

Tuscany, Italy is near my base in Austria, so I love to spend holidays there from time to time. The unique nature, pine trees, olive trees, good red wine, lemons and delicious food – there is no more delightful spot to celebrate “la dolce vita” than in Tuscany! It was like a dream come true capturing this delicate wedding inspiration on film. The light is very special – it’s a perfect destination for photographers and of course for a wedding! I hope you all feel inspired when watching our vision of a perfect wedding in Tuscany!

From A Very Beloved WeddingThe Design and Styling was all about lemons and olive trees, spring and summer, white sculptures and forbidden gardens. The color palette was lemon yellow, olive green, off-white and beige and gold accents, the atmosphere and experience was Mediterranean, the materials were organic, woody and silky, the stationery was soft and natural, the flowers fresh and free and the couple elegant, agile and in love. We were so inspired by the place and setting that we even wrote a poem. There is no doubt: Italy surprises us and makes us even more creative.

Spring under my feet
Summer in my heart
It is because of you, I can feel the perfumes of blossoming spring flowers
Because of you I love the fresh lemons in my mouth
Because of you I see white sculptures in forbidden gardens
Because of you I feel this moment

Villa
From Laura at Varese WeddingI met Meghan and Drew in Italy 1 year before the wedding, Drew’s family was origin from Piemonte and his dream was to get married in a beautiful place in Piemonte , where the guests, coming from the United States, could enjoy the beautiful places and the good food. That’s why we suggested to visit some venues around the lake in Stresa and Verbania. After our trip with the couple and its family , they got in love with Villa Rusconi and they decided on a wedding on the lakeshore. We were very lucky with the weather, as after some rainy days the sun kissed everybody. The ceremony was held on the roses garden in front of the lake, followed by a cocktail on the garden in front of the villa. The wedding dinner was served under the winter garden with a live band background music. The couple chose a classic millefoglie cake, instead of the traditional multi-tiers wedding cake. The italian wedding cake was prepared in front of the guests and decorated with strawberries by Meghan and Drew. The wedding style was a mix of country chic and shabby chic with white and green color and a touch of blue. Dj music and pizza cooked on the wood oven of the villa closed a beautiful day. From The Bride…We live in New York, but we chose Italy because Drew’s family is from the region. We wanted to share with our family and friends the culture and beauty of Northern Italy. We also wanted to carry on the family tradition of the newlyweds beginning their honeymoon in Stresa. My dress was first worn by my Grandmother Irene Farro in 1955. She purchased it for $150 US! It was then worn by my Aunt Sandy in 1976 and then my mother Susan in 1980. It is made of delicate lace that was tearing so often during alterations I did not know if I could wear it. But Vera from NYC was able to salvage the dress and adjust it so it fit perfectly. I admire and adore vintage craftsmanship and wanted to display this beautiful work of art. It was an honor and privilege to where this dress. The best part of the wedding is hard to choose. Everything was perfect and without fault. Laura and Varese Weddings along with Maio Group, The Wonderful Band, and Lisa Poggi allowed Drew and I to enjoy our day while keeping all aspects flowing smoothly. One moment that does stand out was the conga-line that was formed. This is a Cuban dance that became a household name in the US. The dancers form a long, processing line that snakes throughout the room. When I turned around and saw my 86 year old Grandmother dancing I was in hysterics. We also loved the boats to and from the villa, the beautiful aisle and decor, the cocktail hour, dinner, beverages, and overall ambiance. It was exactly the day Drew and I had envisioned. Laura and her team captured everything we could have wanted. Not to mention living in the US and communicating mostly through email. Choosing linens, glasses, flowers….all without seeing first. It was absolutely perfect. For those couples who envision a destination wedding should definitely inquire about a wedding planner. I felt that I had little to worry about and had ultimate confidence in Laura and her team along with the Maio group. I was calm and had no worries the day of the wedding. Everything was perfectly orchestrated, communicated, decorated, and every guest was ecstatic! I would also suggest to each the bride and groom, that on the day of your wedding, stop and look around and remember specific moments (like I did with my grandmother). The day is gone in the blink of an eye and stepping back to cherish these moments makes you appreciate the celebration more. Buona Fortuna!

Colorful Tuscan Countryside Wedding Inspiration

When you’ve got loads of beautiful wisteria climbing rustic walls, tables filled with delectable bites and vino, and scenes like this, you can only be in Tuscany. A destination where rustic marries elegance so beautifully, like this shoot designed to perfection by Weddings In Tuscany. Soak up every ounce of color (how lovely are those blooms by Jardin Divers?!) here in the gallery from Janna Warm.

From Weddings In Tuscany By Chiara SernesiWhen Janna contacted me for a shoot in Tuscany, she was looking for a romantic, beautiful place with a lots of wisteria. So, I thought of the beautiful Medieval Borgo of Montestigliano, where you can find blossoms of wisteria everywhere and Medieval charm and character. That is the real taste of Tuscany.

This time of year the wisteria is a phenomenon here in Tuscany. It is a breathtaking spectacle
if you dream of getting married in the Tuscan countryside. Remember that all the plants and the flowers come to life in April, so it is a perfect theme for weddings.

The color palette was inspired by old pale red walls, wisteria blossoms and the Tuscan countryside: natural tones with colorful flower accents that looked elegant and beautiful. The make-up and hair looked natural and delicate. The open back wedding dress was very elegant. The food had intense fresh flavors from a few choice ingredients which were freshly picked or pulled from the earth. Elegance and simplicity; that is Tuscany.

Together with a team of talented providers I tried to create the perfect atmosphere for a romantic Tuscan wedding.

From Facibeni FotografiaTuscany is widely recognized for its hills, for historical cities and great food. A few know the Versilia coast, in northern Tuscany, and its beautiful towns. Protected by the Alps on one side and the sea on the other, Versilia is a favorite destination for summer vacations in Tuscany since the ’60s. A long 30 km road separates the bathing resorts from cities full of boutiques, art, and good food. The wedding of this beautiful couple was organized in Pietrasanta, a small but lively town rich in art and craft shops, art galleries and taverns with local products. The center of Pietrasanta is the Piazza del Duomo, where is the great cathedral, completely covered with marble outside and painted with frescoes inside.

Alessandra and Massimiliano, like many other Italian couples, chose a religious ceremony in a small church and the reception at the nearby beach, inside a beach resort. After the ceremony, guests moved to the seashore for a cocktail made with sparkling wine and fresh seafood. After that, an excellent dinner prepared right at the beginning of the beach, under the stars with the sound of the sea in the background. The bride was looking for an elegant wedding. She wore a simple and dress and a long veil. The weather, as often in this area, was sunny and breezy; guests have enjoyed a romantic sunset on the sea. Enjoy!

From Il Bianco E Il RosaAlessandra and Massimiliano got in touch with me four months prior to their wedding day. They had already booked the church and the venue for the receptions. They were looking for the most suitable vendors for their French-style wedding on the beach in Tuscany. Alessandra and Massimiliano have good taste and, thank to this, were not easy to please. They were looking for a classic but chic ceremony in the church. Given the short time available and the many things to do before the wedding, I got started on it right away.

The theme they chose was “Ladurèe” – the proposal took place in Paris, on February 14th, at the 58 Restaurant on the Eiffel tower. I immediately got in touch with Facibeni Fotografia for wedding photography, as I knew they would have been perfect on this occasion. One of the photographers, Cristiano, is a master in collecting the finest details from a wedding.

The ceremony took place into the stunning Pieve di Valdicastello in Pietrasanta, and was followed by the reception in a luxurious beach resort in Forte dei Marmi. The guests enjoyed canapes on the beach before sit for dinner on the side of the beautiful swimming pool. Fireworks over the see lighted up the night. The music, played by a band that came from South of Italy for the occasion, highlighted the cake cutting, in front of many elegant and thrilled guests.

From the Bride… Tarek and I met and live in Miami, Florida. I was born and raised in the Bahamas but all my extended family lives in Italy. Tarek was born and raised in Toronto but his family origins are from Pakistan and India. We both moved to Miami for work and met through a mutual friend. Shortly after, Tarek requested me on Facebook where we chatted for a few weeks before we met each other again. Our first date was lunch at our favorite sushi restaurant. We hit it off right away and talked so much that we didn’t even realize a few hours had passed and it was dinner time. We sat there for over 6 hours. I’m surprised we didn’t get kicked out! We dated for 3 years before Tarek took me back to the same sushi restaurant for dinner and popped the question. The rest is history! Family is very important to the both of us. When discussing on where to get married we knew we wanted to have a destination wedding and wanted our family and most important friends to be there. We really wanted to spend some quality time, over several days, with the people that mean the most to us. Since most of my family lives in Italy and Tarek’s family lives in several different places we decided on Florence, Italy. It was near to where my family lived and would be an easy city for people to travel into. We chose to have our wedding at Villa di Maiano for it’s location and stunning view. The villa and its property have been around since the late 1400’s and is located right outside of Florence. We had 115 guests so we needed somewhere close enough to the city to make it easy to transport people to and from the hotel. We also fell in love with the amazing gardens surrounding the property and the view of Florence from its terrace. A lot of our friends and family were traveling from all over the world so we wanted to guarantee they had a great time and had a few surprises in store for them. The wedding party and the groom arrived at the villa in a 1962 VW van, which fits Tarek’s fun personality! I arrived in a 1978 Excalibur. The guests were all transported by bus. The symbolic ceremony took place on the terrace overlooking some vineyards on one side and Florence on the other side. The apperitif took place in the Italian gardens where we had different food corners including a meat and cheese corner, a fried food corner and a grilled fish corner. The caterer was Galateo, who coincidently also catered Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s wedding! My favorite part of the apperitif was a water fountain that we had filled with rose petals. I fell in love with it! The dinner was upstairs in the regular gardens. We were very lucky that we had great weather! It had been raining almost all summer in Italy, which is very unusual. I was so stressed out the weeks prior to the wedding, but we were blessed with 3 days of beautiful weather! We started off the dancing to an amazing live band. We didn’t want a traditional American style cake so we opted instead to have a millefoglie cake made in front of the guests. It was something different and fun. The chef came out and layer by layer constructed this humongous cake in front of everyone. It was a hit! We had organized for fireworks to go off once Tarek and I cut our first slice of cake. It was a great surprise for everyone. It was definitely very romantic and special. We also had a photo booth and an ice-cream truck for the guests. After midnight we brought the party inside where the DJ continued and also to our surprise played the saxophone. It was by far the most memorable and special day of our lives so far! The rain started again at 2 a.m. that night! But at that point we didn’t care anymore because our wedding weekend was over.

Traditional Pre-Wedding Pakistani Mehndi Night in Tuscany

Planning a destination wedding can be tough — especially when bringing a Pakistani wedding weekend with a traditional Western ceremony to the Tuscan countryside! — but, with help from The Tuscan Wedding and Tuscany Flowers, this Bride and Groom pulled off their mehndi night with style (and bellydancers!). Luckily, Lisa Poggi and Mattello Trombello shared the whole weekend with us in the gallery here!

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/114432013 600 338]

From the beautiful bride… Tarek and I had our wedding weekend in Florence Italy. We both live in Miami, Florida. My parents immigrated to the Bahamas in the 70’s but my extended family still lives in Italy. Tarek was born and raised in Toronto, Canada but his parents immigrated from Pakistan. We decided to have a destination wedding in Italy. However, we wanted to also incorporate Tarek’s culture into the weekend activities. Instead of having a regular welcome party or rehearsal dinner we decided to have a Mehndi Party for all the wedding guests. Let me tell you — this was not an easy task! Bringing this type party to a rustic Tuscan city was pretty hard!!

Daniela, at The Tuscan Wedding, took on the task and I think did a pretty fantastic job. The location was at an agritourism of all places! This location has a few apartments and a restaurant on a farm. It took us months to find a location that would fit what we needed. We needed a large enough space to hold 115 people and have enough room for dancers. We found a talented group of Indian dancers from Rome who came and did a few dancing shows for us. The place was beautifully decorated with colorful drapes, ethnic decorations and lighting. Most guests participated and dressed up. It was definitely a cultural experience for many of the guests, who living in Italy, have never had the opportunity to see. This was a fantastic way to start off the wedding weekend.

Romantic Outdoor Wedding in Ancient Rome

There is an old saying that all roads lead to Rome, and after scrolling through the gallery courtesy of Amy and Stuart I couldn’t agree more. From their ancient cloister reception to the regally romantic ceremony, Italia Celebrations was on hand to make sure marital dreams became reality. Watch the entire day unfold and see every picturesque moment here!

From Italia CelebrationsMolly and Patrick were such a lovely couple and so much in love. They had a special relationship with Rome and so wanted to have their wedding there with their closest friends and family. Shortly after meeting them I took them to a special cloister in Rome that was closed to the public up until just months earlier. Although the cloister dates back to the Middle Ages, it currently houses the Institute for Ancient Roman Studies and the setting could not be more appropriate for this purpose. It was the first location that we saw together and it was love at first sight.

The entrance of the cloister was designed as an optical illusion so that the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican, although two miles away, fills the entire view. My only demand was that the couple let me fill the triple arches on the exterior of the building with three huge chandeliers. I always love chandeliers but this exterior was just begging for them. Happily the bride agreed. What I didn’t the bride was that I had months of meetings and site inspections with our lighting specialists and up until the final installation we were still making engineering and electrical adjustments. But it all worked out perfectly.

Both the cloister for the reception and the church for the Catholic ceremony are set on one of the founding hills of Rome dating back almost three thousand years and just everything is ancient and historic. Their Catholic wedding took place in one of the very first Christian churches ever constructed, dating back to the year 425 A.D. and now home to the Dominican Order of Catholic priests. So important is this church that it is the first step in Catholic Rome for celebrating Lent on Palm Sunday. In the photos you can saw many Ancient Roman details that are a part of the church’s architecture and decoration.

Once the ceremony concluded the guests were able to walk only 100 feet away to the ancient cloister for the reception to begin. There they were greeted with a vast assortment of Roman hors d’oeuvres both hot and cold. And it wouldn’t be a true Italian wedding celebration without a whole prosciutto leg that is hand sliced upon request. The bride and groom made their entrance into the cloister to the cheers of the guests who had arrived there before them. From the inner cloister the group moved to the garden terrace with a spectacular view over Rome. The garden was divided into the dinner area on the right hand side and the the after dinner lounge and dancing area was set up on the left hand side. During the seated dinner they were entertained by a Supper Club Jazz Sextet.

Following the dinner was the cutting of the cake and the first dance. The cake was a classical Italian millefoglie with wild strawberries and pastry cream. Once the cake had been eaten and washed down with Italian bubbly it was time for everyone to kick off their heels in the after dinner lounge area where a DJ was waiting for them. They were also treated to an ample dessert buffet and an open bar.

The photographers are the super talented duo of Amy and Stuart who had flown over from California to shoot the wedding. In the plans was a second day of shooting around Rome with the bride and groom back in their wedding finery. Just have a look at the photos, it looks like a travelogue of Rome. The photos are just astonishing and Amy and Stuart did an amazing job.

Rustic Norwegian Wedding in Tuscany

Can we just agree that getting married in Tuscany is what wedding dreams are made of? Surrounded by olive groves, the authenticity of this affair is overwhelmingly breathtaking. From their garden ceremony to the courtyard reception, Facibeni Fotografia shared every darling detail with us here!

From Photographer Facibeni FotografiaCatherine and Nils chose to celebrate their wedding on an estate in the pristine Tuscan countryside. Along with their families and their close friends, they chose an old village to spend a few days relaxing with their loved ones due to the good food and the many experiences that the region offers to visitors.

The estate “ Quercia al Poggio” is the place they chose to celebrate the ceremony and organize the reception. The estate is an ancient Tuscan village surrounded by olive groves; completely built in stone, it is one of those authentic places where you can still feel the atmosphere of a few years ago. There are no ultra sharp TVs, and it is more likely to meet a donkey that a Wi-Fi signal. Well … a place of those where you leave heart and spirit!

The ceremony took place in the garden. A short but very intense rite, in which families and guests attended moved, in an almost surreal silence, interrupted only by birdsongs.

In a place so beautiful and romantic, the photo shoot could not but be exciting. I chose to portray the couple simply, during a walk on the dirt road that winds through the property.

The dinner was held in the courtyard, between the ancient stone walls of the village. The T table has been prepared in a simple way, with flowers of the territory. Dinner was delicious, with delicious dishes of meat and mushrooms, and the inevitable red wine produced on the estate of Quercia al Poggio.

The speeches were endless! The Norwegian tradition in fact wants, in addition to the wedding party, that even friends say a few words to wish good luck to the marriage.

Elegant Countryside Wedding in Tuscany

Close your eyes and envision the most spectacular wedding in the Tuscany. Can you see it? Now, open your eyes and start scrolling, because this next pretty planned by the talented Chic Weddings In Italy is exactly what we’ve been dreaming of. Lindsay Madden snapped up every olive grove moment and you can see it all in this gorgeous gallery.

From Lindsay Madden PhotographyI’m thrilled to share the beautiful wedding of Regina & Jack! They were married in September in Tuscany, Italy and it was absolutely breathtaking.

Not wanting to choose between England (Jack’s home country) and Switzerland (Regina’s) for their special day, Regina and Jack decided to host a destination wedding in Tuscany at Conti di San Bonifacio wine resort. On a sunshine-filled September day {exactly one year after they got engaged}, the two celebrated with 52 of their nearest and dearest. Regina and Jack teamed up with the talented ladies of Chic Weddings in Italy and Tommaso Torrini of La Rosa Canina in order to bring their vision to life. Countryside elegance would be the best way to describe their wedding and the color pallet made up of french grey, cream, butter and sage fit perfectly with the Tuscan landscape.

Regina and Jack made their marriage official under a hanging flower installation that mimicked a hanging arch and moved beautifully (& effortlessly} in the wind. After Regina’s father walked her down the aisle to Alphaville’s acoustic version of “Forever Young,” Regina joined Jack for the officiant’s welcome and the guitarist’s unplugged version of Natalie Cole’s “L.O.V.E.” Regina’s brother Florian read Bob Marley’s “He’s Not Perfect,” and Jack’s brother Will recited “Marriage Is Madness,” by an unknown author. After Regina and Jack exchanged rings and shared their first kiss as husband and wife, they walked back up the aisle to Michael Bublé’s “Everything” while guests tossed olive leaves on them. It was a magical and sweet moment!

After the ceremony, the newlyweds joined me in a nearby olive grove for portraits and their adorable French Bulldog, Muki, joined in on the fun as well. After pictures, Regina and Jack joined loved ones for fun and festivities. Guests were at the villa’s poolside for cocktails, lawn games, appetizers and live music from the band Lady Dillinger. After cocktail hour, guests were escorted to the front of the wine resort’s property for dinner. The newlyweds cozied up in a loveseat—a bench marked by a garland and “Forever Young” signage. Soft candlelight flickered from glass votives, both low and high, with some perched on stone candlesticks. Rustic wood table numbers were nestled between antique chests and small potted arrangements for an informal but intentional effect. As the sun went down guests dined underneath the stars and according to Regina, “it was truly special having dinner outside.”

I am so lucky to have been able to capture Regina and Jack’s wedding day. It was an exquisite affair that I’ll remember forever!

Romantic Tuscany Villa Elopement

We couldn’t imagine anything more picturesque than Tuscany, with its rolling hills, olive groves, cypress trees and rustic stone villas. The dreamiest of weddings happen right here, like this romantic elopement captured by the talented Facibeni Fotografia. It’s an intimate ceremony surrounded by natural beauty that’ll have you seeing blush! Sneak a peek at the full gallery right here.

From Facibeni FotografiaIf we talk about weddings and elopements, Tuscany is one of the most beautiful destinations. Florence is the most popular location for weddings between art, history and secular Italian culture.

For those who are looking for something rustic, the beautiful colored hills and dirt roads surrounded by cypress trees are ideal for intimate elopements in the midst of pristine nature: moving celebrations, amid the noise of the cicadas and the rustling of the wind.

Borgo Santo Pietro is one of the most beautiful resorts in the entire region. It is two steps away from the secular Abbey of San Galgano, in a pristine natural area. The village consists of a central structure that houses the reception hall and the restaurant, around which stand many villas surrounded by flower gardens, olive groves and cypress trees.

The villas are fully built of stone, and refurbished by the European property respecting the old architectural standards of the old village. A timeless place to relax and spend the days in luxury and relaxation.

Jenny and Michael celebrated an intimate wedding under a weeping willow in front of a lake. It was a moving ceremony, interrupted only by bird songs.

After the ceremony, I took some relaxed pictures of them, as they walked smiling among the flower gardens with the sun behind them, just before sunset. Given the beauty of the place, it was not that difficult. Borgo Santo Pietro is a dreamy location for any wedding photographer. The photo shoot could not be more fascinating and complete.

Borgo Santo Pietro also contains within it a fabulous restaurant, famous throughout Tuscany. There could be no better time for a romantic dinner at dusk: dishes of meat and mushrooms of the territory and a great wine to toast to this fabulous elopement.

No, there’s no better place to get married in than Tuscany. Don’t you think so?

Lavish Sicilian Destination Wedding

French Grey Photography is serving up a gorgeous slice of pretty this morning by way of this destination wedding in Sicily, and trust me when I say you’ll want to stick around for every last image sitting in this gallery. With two beautiful ceremonies and too many beautiful details to count, this collection of images is just too pretty to miss.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/112205710 600 338]

From French Grey PhotographyThis lavish and styled destination wedding featured two ceremonies in Sicily with 60 guests. The Bride was brought to the first ceremony in a vintage baby blue Rolls Royce that drove right up to the steps of the church featured in the Godfather movies. After the ceremony, the red carpet led guests to a celebratory walk around the ancient town with a traditional Sicilian band.

The second ceremony was a romantic and intimate Jewish blessing on the beach of Belmond Villa Sant’Andrea with a backdrop of boats lazily anchored in the Ionian Sea. Following the beach ceremony, guests enjoyed an outdoor cocktail reception in an English garden, followed by dinner at a long imperial table on the hotel’s terrace. After dinner, there was dancing and a huge surprise fireworks display over the water.

Bespoke stationery with a custom monogramming by Abigail Warner streamlined everything throughout the wedding from the invitations to the photo booth backdrop.

The Bride wore Jenny Packham for the beach ceremony and a custom gown by Fyodor Atelier for the church ceremony. The Bride also wore two bespoke headpieces from Jannie Baltzer, shoes from Emmy Shoes London and Manolo Blahnik. The flower girl also wore a separate dress for each ceremony with matching fresh flower headpieces.

The Bride and Groom commissioned an artist to create a hand-painted Art Nouveau-inspired Ketubah by Jacqueline Kahane Freedman that took over 10 months to create. Seven bridesmaids wore an off-the-shoulder Alvina Valenta dress in antique rose and groomsmen wore blue suits with navy bow ties. As a gift from the Bride, each bridesmaid wore a unique and authentic Art Nouveau cameo brooch on the waist-high bow of her bridesmaid dress.

Elegant Amalfi Coast Dream Wedding in Ravello, Italy

I don’t even know where to start with this ridiculously beautiful Ravello wedding planned by Italia Celebrations, because every single moment snapped up by Alicia Swedenborg was so pretty this gallery doesn’t even look real. The entire day played out like a dream, and for this lucky duo, that dream was their beautiful reality. See more of this gorgeous day here.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/108833374 600 338]

From Alicia SwedenborgI had the honor of photographing the wedding of Sarah & Jerome at Hotel Caruso in Ravello, Italy, planned and designed by Brenda at Italia Celebrations. These are all film images from this dream destination wedding location on the Amalfi Coast, one could not ask for a more beautiful backdrop for wedding photos!

From the beautiful Bride… We had our absolute dream wedding, it could not have been more perfect for us!

In terms of choosing a venue, I grew up by the sea in England and Jérôme is from the French Alps but is also half Sardinian. Just to confuse matters, when we got engaged, I was living in New York and Jérôme was living in London so we had a lot of options in terms of where to get married! After much deliberation, we decided to celebrate our wedding in beautiful Italy.

We knew that we wanted a stunning, classic and beautiful but modern and cool venue, somewhere that felt totally ‘us’. When we visited Belmond Hotel Caruso in Ravello for the first time, it was like the most beautiful dream and we instantly fell in love with it. It even had the combination of mountains and sea which was a nod to the marriage of our backgrounds and families too! We could not wait to share such a breathtaking venue with our closest friends and family.

We both love the Italian ‘dolce vita’ and relaxed vibe, but knew that we would need expert help to plan the wedding remotely and ensure that our local vendors understood and executed everything we envisaged perfectly. We also wanted our wonderful parents, bridesmaids and best men to be able to relax and enjoy the day as much as possible so having someone to help plan and coordinate the big day seemed a great idea. I was used to New York/ London levels of service and efficiency and am a very detail-oriented person and knew exactly what we wanted for our wedding. Brenda of Italia Celebrations has amazing knowledge of venues in Italy, a fantastic network of Italian contacts and vendors and of course, is fluent in Italian language and culture. This, combined with her previous time spent working for Vera Wang in New York mean that we got the New York ‘can-do’ attitude, impeccable attention to detail, a modern and beautiful approach to styling and design aspects of the wedding and an instinctive understanding of precisely what we wanted. We could not have had the amazing day that we had without her!

By way of example, we wanted a legal, religious and symbolic ceremony all in one and in English (not easy in Italy when you’re not an Italian or Catholic!) but Brenda worked it out for us perfectly with an Italian pastor and his English speaking son! I wanted Church of England vows and Brenda helped us incorporate those into the Italian order of service. Through Brenda, we engaged Alicia as our photographer and she was an absolute delight to work with and took the most stunning photographs of our wedding. We love reliving that day when we look at the photos. Katie did my hair and make up for me on the day and I loved it – I didn’t want anything stuffy or formal and she gave me exactly the looks I wanted and made me feel really beautiful on the day. She was so professional – discretely touching up my hair and make up as I was far too busy enjoying the day to think about it! Not only that but she was fantastic fun and we are now friends! Overall, we had an absolute dream team of vendors whose work we adored and whose company we genuinely enjoyed, which helps massively on the happiest day of your life!

Our colour scheme was inspired by the Amalfi coast and its beautiful lemon trees so the bridesmaids dresses were a crema di limoncello colour and our favours were miniature bottles of limoncello from the local Ravello ‘factory’ (the smallest, prettiest factory ever!) We didn’t want a twee or contrived colour scheme though so it was more subtely incorporating a lemon chiffon colour into the fresh, clean whites and creams used in the setting more generally. We were totally thrilled with our original and creative wedding stationery by Emily too which set the tone of the wedding in the invites perfectly: Using a map of the area as a envelope liner and the distinctive silhouette of the local cypress trees throughout. Unbeknown to Emily when designing the stationary, those were the exact trees under which our wedding ceremony took place! We also wanted to make sure that our Italian and French speaking guests were fully able to enjoy the day too so my mum’s friend prepared translations of the speeches and the amazing Dora band (who I’d seen play at another fab Italian wedding many years ago and had never forgotten!) played a fantastic mixture of music from those countries to get everyone dancing!

Everyone says something always goes wrong in relation to your wedding and sure enough, we had a couple of disasters including our flights to the wedding being cancelled which was not ideal! But the wedding itself was like a fairytale, just perfect and magical and beautiful beyond belief. We felt so blessed to have family and friends join us from all over the world including from California, New York, Dubai, Hong Kong, and Oman as well as England, Italy and France. The day for us (and hopefully for our guests too!) was absolutely magical.

I feel so lucky and grateful to have married my dream man in our dream wedding with our amazing families and friends. I only wish we could do it all over again!

Rustic Chic Dream Wedding in Tuscany

From its’ rolling golden hills to the vintage villas, every detail about Tuscany beckons romance. So, when you add in beautiful violet dresses, one ribbon laced gown, and a literal cheese cake, well that m’dears is downright dreamy. From sunny Stiatti Fiori blooms to rustic charm, Super Tuscan Wedding Planners incorporated timeless touches while Lisa Poggi captured every darling detail here!

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/117394830 600 338]

From Super Tuscan Wedding Planners… I personally met with Rob and Becca for the first time in June 2013, and since the very beginning we discovered a strong feeling among me, my wife Arianna, Rebecca and Robert. They were enthusiastic about the town of Cortona — a real pearl of Tuscany — its sights and the villa for their wedding. And the wedding day absolutely reflected all their first excitement!!

The wedding started on a fresh morning, sunny as never before, and more than exciting for our Becca & Rob! The ladies started preparing in the early morning: the Bridesmaids with beautiful violet long dresses and the Bride with a stunning mermaid white lace wedding gown with a ribbon on the back. The colors chosen by the Bride and Groom for their wedding day were violet and yellow. The sunflowers for the Bridesmaids’ bouquets really seemed the best choice for a Tuscan wedding! The Groom had a blue suit and a violet color tie, in perfect style with the Bridesmaids’ dresses.

Ready for the ceremony, the guests and the Groom reached the town hall of Cortona for the most important moments of our Bride & Groom’s lives! The emotions were perceivable in the air and it couldn’t have been more magic with the string quartet and two beautiful souls happily in love and marrying once for a lifetime! The main square of Cortona then enjoyed their happiness along with their 180 guests.

It was amazing to see our lovely couple coming out into the sun at the top of the giant staircase of Cortona’s town hall, and see them enjoying their guests down until the last step. Moreover, it was a special day for the town as well, and as Becca & Rob reached the main square of the town, at the bottom of the staircase, a group of drums entered the square dressed with historic costumes. I admit, it was not planned, but a real wonderful soundtrack for such a moment!

Just one last detail I cannot forget about Becca & Rob’s wedding…their emotional speeches and those of their parents and guests. They included all those moments, emotions, troubles, efforts and deserved successes that this couple had in their last year and for me that year didn’t mean just wedding planning, but an important part of my life, made of lots of lessons.. and I’m proud of having been the wedding planners of Becca & Rob!

Elegant Summer Wedding in Ischia

The fact that the Bride’s grandparents married on this Italian island years ago and now she too will say her vows here is amazing. But add in these sort of views, a ceremony site that radiates romance and this incredibly chic Delphine Manivet gown and I have to admit, I’m literally speechless. Ashlee Taylor’s captured it all in this gorgeous gallery, also known as where I’ll be, mesmerized, for the rest of today.

From Ashlee Taylor… Myself and Faye love this wedding not just because of its phenomenal beauty but because of the people and their connection with the destination in which they chose. Natalie and Mark contacted me after seeing my work on Once Wed and after many transatlantic Skype conversations picked us to photograph their nuptials on the breath-taking island of Ischia. I had the pleasure of watching Natalie’s ideas develop and it was amazing to see it all tied together so well on the wedding day. I’m sure it wasn’t easy to bring all the elements together especially planning from so far away but it sure paid off.

The castello where they held the wedding was very exclusive, only choosing to do two weddings a year, ran by siblings. This venue was kept impeccably and the views were ones you would never forget… a perfect setting to marry the love of your life! Made even more special as Natalie’s late grandparents were married on the island bringing a different type of connection to the place, carrying on the tradition of getting married on the island.

The day was kept simple and was filled with Italian elements from the stunningly foraged floral arrangements to appetising food, it made our job pleasurable and effortless. With beautiful natural light and a spectacular colour palette it was easy to photograph the wedding on film.

Rustic Italian Dream Wedding in Tuscany

A wedding in Tuscany planned by Italy Weddings? It sounds like a dream, and from the looks of David Bastianoni‘s stunning images below this couples’ big day was everything you could possible imagine and more. With a rustic yet elegant feel and pretty little details around every corner, this gallery is filled with too much pretty to count.

From Italy Weddings…As Stacey and Chris say, they did not have a totally clear idea, or a strong theme for their event, but communicating with them, we were able to understand their personal style, and get to know what were the important points essential to their wedding week in Tuscany. So often for a wedding in a land with so much character and personality as Tuscany, and with a villa such as this, it can be better to allow the location, the local cuisine and culture, and the architecture and style of the setting be the theme, rather them imposing anything more forceful on top of that. And Tuscany does this so well: simple but tasty food, welcoming people, stunning hilltop villages such as Volterra, where this lovely couple were married. We dipped in to the resources of the area, and created a special day for the couple never to forget. Marisa and Ben worked closely with the bride and groom on the floral design and the lighting project, to make the mood of the wedding day special, a strong belief for us, in a location where the guests are staying for a full week is to make the wedding event clearly a special, important and thought out day.

From the Bride…Both Chris and I are avid travelers so it was natural for us to get engaged in London and then, that same trip, while on a week-long cycling tour of Tuscany have the seed planted to actually get married in this beautiful part of Italy. We live in Canada but have family & friends spread all over (me being a native Canadian and Chris finding his way here via New Zealand and Australia) coast-to-coast across Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, England so we decided to make a week of it and invite our closest people to a villa just outside of Volterra in the stunning Tuscan country-side. Ben Singleton of Italyweddings was absolutely indispensable seeing as we planned and orchestrated the entire week from Vancouver, primarily via email and only had the luxury of meeting him in person for the first time once we arrived in Italy. We did not have crystal clear vision of our day, expect that we wanted to keep in natural, rustic but with a touch of whimsy and elegance so as not to take away from the unbelievable natural scenery – and it was all that and more! From the luxurious and comfortable family style accommodations, catered dinners followed by 4am dance parties (more than 1!) , a wedding that went off without a hitch in the jaw-dropping town hall of Volterra and many, many bottles of wine.  We could not have done it without Ben and his team. We thank David Bastianoni SO much for all he did for us. Everything was manic and amazingly crazy and David was able to shoot some absolutely beautiful shots we will adore forever. As our hashtag says, #IdoItaly — and we certainly did!
