To the tune of bossa nova and jazz, we brought together all our loved ones, in an enclosed space where we were able to fully enjoy each speech, each tear shed and all the laughter exchanged.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]We are Julie and Christopher, 36 and 39 years old, we have been a couple for 15 years. We met at the time on the internet, the flash was direct, we never left each other!

We have a little girl who is 7 years old, and who was delighted with this wedding, I was surprised several times by her enthusiasm and the happiness she had in participating in the preparation of the wedding, the choice of her dress , his accessories, everything was just as important as mine!

We took a long time because life was punctuated by a lot of twists and turns, I started my business twice, it took me a while to achieve stability, I lost my two parents, we had to wait to find the desire to celebrate and welcome happiness, I think we really wanted to share our love with the people we love and also it took us a while to be ready to say to ourselves: ok we really choose each other for life.

We wanted this stage of serenity in life, and personal accomplishment for both of us.

I wanted a fairly simple, sexy dress with lace, I tried 5 of them and as soon as I put this one on I felt comfortable straight away, it highlighted my shapes and I no longer wanted to take it off like a superhero costume!

in addition we had signature cocktails: ti ponch because my fiancé has Martinican paternal origins, rum was obligatory and I wanted a more feminine cocktail, gin ladies, with strawberry, a pure treat.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Working in the wedding industry, I knew exactly what to do as a floral design. I have a pretty happy personality and I wanted peppy colors. I dreamed of my bridal bouquet with 150 pink sweet peas.

Then I wanted flowered tablecloths, in fact flowers everywhere as a theme: the stationery, the napkin ring, the guest gift, candles etc..

I put together my file as I do for my clients: I adapted the flowers to the dimensions of the tables: the guests’ long tables were narrow so I provided small vases all along the table.

Our head table was very large so I planned a floral cascade which was the central element of the dinner

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Christopher, my husband now, let me organize the wedding according to my tastes, he had 2 requests: rum and his favorite dessert: croque en bouche. So I also added the mini tropéziennes, we ordered the pièce montée and the mini tropéziennes from “la tarte tropézienne” which are obviously the best.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]The singer’s name is Lyla, she’s a friend, she sings divinely well, when I asked her if she wanted to sing for my wedding she was so happy.

We discussed several songs, I wanted jazz and bossa nova music for the cocktail and with her warm voice and talent, she really managed to give an elegant and romantic atmosphere to the reception.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]For my wedding rings, I chose it in a small Parisian boutique Sophie Dagon Paris, I loved the fact that the ring represented a bouquet of diamond flowers, and also that the designer used recycled gold and truly has an ethical manufacturing process.

For Christopher’s, he wanted to call on his cousin @jeremy.boueilh who is a jeweler-setter in Geneva and he made him a unique ring.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]I am lucky to have that amazing team to coordinate our wedding, i work with the Wanderlust wedding team in collaboration all year round because i am a wedding floral designer, we talked about my wedding a little beforehand but I organized the main one on my side because we already had a very busy wedding schedule for our season!

Their helping hand was a breath of fresh air. Marion took up all my ideas, got in touch with my family and friends to coordinate on the big day all the surprises they had prepared for us, the whole evening went smoothly, which allowed us to enjoy.[/field]

A Classic Black and White Wedding at Chateau de la Napoule

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Years before we were even engaged we had dreamed up a fairytale wedding in the South of France together. It was a fantasy we always dreamed about, but I’m not sure either of us thought would be a reality. We kept that dream alive for just short of five years before the wedding took place. In the years that passed we kept an eye on the wedding industry in the area, looking at everything from venues to photographers. At some point we stumbled upon a video of Château de la Napoule that captured us and we both knew it was THE venue.

Despite our persistence, we got engaged during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic and our French wedding seemed a distant dream. A venue trip was planned and we agreed if we could pull a venue visit off without any pain, we would proceed. However Nate then came down with COVID, canceling our trip. We kept our distance and rescheduled our trip, but as luck would have it, I came down with COVID 20 days later, canceling our second trip. At this point, my brother was proclaiming our wedding Franceled, his funny way of saying that our France wedding was canceled. I lost hope of a wedding in France and resigned myself to a wedding in Boston. Nate on the other hand never lost faith. Without his determination, France never would have become a reality.

Two months after our originally scheduled trip, we were finally on a flight to France to see some venues! We had our hearts set on Château de la Napoule, but we did see two other venues while in France to be sure. Our criteria included a water view, a venue that was beautiful standalone without too much decor and ~30 minutes from the Nice airport. All three venues we saw were amazing, and Nate and I actually came away loving different venues. In the end Château de la Napoule did win out. The venue delivered on all of our criteria and brought with it a whole host of history.

Château de la Napoule is an art foundation that allows for private events. This meant we had to bring in everything from sound equipment to lighting. While a massive undertaking, the blank canvas of the venue allowed us to make it exactly what we had always dreamed of – a modern, yet timeless, elegant vibe. We live in a house of neutrals and we knew black and white would be the perfect color palette. We set out to maximize time alongside the water, emphasized the gardens through the château, added twinkle lights and more candles than we could count. Aurélie brought our vision to life and it was truly remarkable! The end result was a dreamy, romantic setting that was perfection down to the smallest details – it was everything we had dreamt of, and so much more. [/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]We got engaged on a weekend getaway in Kennebunkport, ME in October 2021. Before my mom passed away, she had always wanted to see the fall folliage in Maine. Unfortunately she never had the chance, but being a lover of Fall and the changing leaves myself, her desire remained a goal of mine. We had planned the whole weekend, but COVID had derailed our trip in 2020 and then again earlier in 2021. On the third attempt, we finally made it!

Given the trip had already been resceduled twice in two separate years, there weren’t any major alarm bells indicating it would be our engagement weekend. We had tag teamed a several month search and the diamond was purchased, but Nate was working on the setting design solo. I knew he was nearing the end of the ring process, so I did have a fleeting thought that he might ask, but it passed quickly. Offhandledly he had mentioned an upcoming bank holiday disrupted his final payment, a statement I now realize was a white lie to make me think the ring was not yet in his possession!

We arrived in Kennebunkport on Friday afternoon and Nate decided we were going for a walk to see the Bush compound, a spot I was not familiar with. I genuinely thought we were taking a walk to see some beautiful bush foliage and I didn’t question it. We walked for quite a while that night. It turns out Nate was scoping out the spot he planned to pop the question the next day and he didn’t like it! When we had checked into our hotel for the weekend – The White Barn Inn – they had given us a pamphlet with some hot spots circled. After returning to our room to freshen up for dinner, Nate looked at the pamphlet, found & Googled Goose Rocks Beach and then alerted our photographer of his new plan.

We spent Saturday eating cinnamon buns and drinking coffee, admiring the fall folliage on another walk and playing chess at The White Barn Inn. Midday Nate decided we should go to the beach to read during sunset, which seemed like a perfect plan for the bookworms we are. I packed a backpack with blankets and books, something Nate kept telling me was unneccessary, but I couldn’t quite grasp. We headed over to Goose Rocks Beach where we ordered sides and espresso martinis before hitting the beach. Little did I know, our photographer was across the bar watching us and apparently Nate checked his backpack to ensure the ring was there a time or two.

After we finished our drinks we headed over to the beach to read. I was insistent on setting up our blanket, but Nate told me to put the backpack down so we could walk by the water first. As we started walking he wrapped me into a big hug and started his proposal speech. It’s rare that Nate uses my full name, so once he dropped that I immediately knew what was happening. Nate likes to joke that I made the actual proposal quite hard on him – being way too giddy to listen and awkward with the amount of emtions he was sharing. I blacked it all out, but remembered to say yes! Nate had planned a weekend with all of my favorite things and found a way to bring my mom into the weekend, even though she could not be there physically. Everything about it was perfect![/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]I went into the wedding dress process knowing I wanted a dress with texture, but not knowing much else, not even if I wanted the dress to be white. My brother and Nate’s mom accompanied me to three trials and while the dresses were gorgeous, none were IT. I felt as though I liked a dress 80%, but wanted to change the other 20% to make it perfect.

Cue Bre, my amazing custon dress designer! My brother told me he knew I would work with Bre from the second we got to her studio – I lit up differently than I had at any other bridal boutiques. Bre’s sample dresses were airy and whimsical and everything I wanted. I had trust in her from day one, so much so that I put all my eggs in one basket and had her design all three of my dresses – welcome, wedding and dancing dresses.

Pretty quickly after trying on Bre’s samples my main dress vision fell into place. I landed on an A-line dress which felt perfect for our venue. I wanted texture and ended up leaning in heavily on pearls, incorporating them head to toe – pearls in my hair, on earrings, my bodice and my shoes.

I knew I wanted my dancing dress to be fun and a little flashy and Bre helped me strike a perfect balance between sophisticated and party. We used a lightly glittered tulle and added beads and appliqué to really make it pop.

Bre was incredible. She was able to take my inspiration photos and my nonsensical thoughts and somehow turn them into the dresses of my dreams. Bre and I went on a real journey together throughout the near year-long process and I couldn’t have asked for anything better – she was patient and honest and beyond talented. My cousin’s veil – my something borrowed – rounded out my wedding wardrobe. I felt like a princess and I’m looking for any excuse to wear my welcome and dancing dress again – it’s just a matter of time![/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]My biggest concern for my bridesmaids was that they felt beautiful! With this in mind, they were all asked to pick their own black dress. The onyl requirement was that they felt great in it and were excited to wear it! Shoes, accessories, hair and makeup were all up to them as well. Without coordinating, the girls ended up picking some really gorgeous dresses, all of which had some texture that tied together perfctly and they all looked amazing together. [/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]In keeping with the elegant vibe, we went with a simple black and white tuxedo for the groomsmen. Nate opted to modernize the look by pairing it with a black loafer, a personal favorite.[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]One of the first things Nate and I connected on during our first date was our mutual desire to have a slow-paced, multi-course meal, often with wine pairings. When planning the wedding we knew almost immediately that we wanted to approach our wedding the same. Since guests would be traveling a long way, we also knew we wanted to immerse them in the culture and really show them what we love about France, the food being a big piece of that.

Our cocktail hour consisted of a variety of passed canapés, an oyster bar, a risotto display and a shrimp and scallop station. When Aurélie suggested a five course meal, inclusive of a cheese course, for the reception, we knew she understood our food goals! We capped it off with our version of late night McDonalds burgers and fries which we had served to us on the dancefloor to keep the party going strong.

We served champagne pre-ceremony and had an open bar from cocktail hour until the party ended at 3AM. Our bartenders were incredible and kept the energy going all night long! They were great with our guests, slinging drinks with ease, serving up shots, mixing in a few tricks and even letting our guests help out. We had six signature drinks, but our two favorites were the Giannobile & Tonic and the Espresso Lambertini. Lastly, our specialty coffee bar gave us and our people enough fuel to keep the dancefloor going until 3AM! [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Florals were a piece of the puzzle that we had a lot of ideas swirling around, but not a lot of conviction other than wanting texture throughout the blooms. We were so thrilled when we really got to know Élise and Sébastien with Lettre à Elise Events. We had a few calls with them, but we really fell in love when they met us for our venue runthrough nine months before the wedding. Their energy and passion was palpabale and their creativity invaluable – Élise and Sébastien offered unique ideas ranging from florals to candles to setuo floorplans. After that initial in-person meeting we mutually agreed that Élise and Sébastien had our full trust and could do as they pleased in coordination with Aurélie. From the welcome reception to the wedding, they completely blew us away! They were such an essential piece of our wedding planning – we truly could not have done it without them![/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]As a couple who simply cannot leave a restaurant without perusing the dessert menu, we knew dessert would hold a special place at our wedding. Years before we were even engaged Nate was planning the short & sweet speech he would give at the wedding, strategically timed to be right after the cheese course wrapped up. His main goal, aside from thanking our guests for making the trek, was to ensure everyone took a moment for dessert. We’re a couple that firmly believes in a second stomach for dessert, but funnily enough, neither of us really enjoys cake. We opted for a sweets table showcasing some of our personal favorites, as well as tapping into the local loved options – mini crème brûlée, chocolate covered strawberries, macarons and croustillant au chocolat. Paired with our coffeebar, it was the dessert display of our dreams![/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Nate and I did a pretty even 50/50 split on the planning – we were both invovled in every step of the process, but we did take bigger roles in various pieces of the puzzle to cater to our biggest interests. Since Nate surprised me with the proposal itself, I knew I wanted to surprise him with something during the wedding. Fireworks were the first thing that came to mind! Aurélie and I very quickly got to work on the surprise, covering everything inclusive of the soundtrack to accompany the display.

Somewhere along the way Nate actually had the grand idea himself, but Aurélie and I were already equipped with a sotry – the château did not allow fireworks, not to mention they were out of budget. Nate bought it, but did mention his disappointment on the topic a few times.

Fast forward to the wedding, Nate thought we were going outside to take a few sparkler photos before heading to the dancefloor. Imagine his surprise when the fireworks began! Laurent, our cinematographer, captured the moment – audio and visuals – perfectly. Nate and our guests were blown away and it was truly a magical fireworks display. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]We knew we wanted to do something to remember my mom, an obvious void, on our wedding day. But we also knew we didn’t want to do this in a way that was subtle, known to us, but not everyone. We decided to save a seat for my mom in the front row as a symbol of her presence. Élise and Sébastien came up with a poetic idea to make the chair “taken by nature”, with flowers growing on it. We opted to add yellow flowers, both mine and my mom’s favorite color. I also had a piece of my mom’s wedding dress sewn into my custom wedding dress. Both were great reminders that while my mom wasn’t there with us physically, she was certainly there in spirit. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Pretty early in our planning process Nate decided we would have a wedding monogram / logo. Crème de Papier did an incredible job bringing a unique twist to the standard wedding logos you routinely see – we loved it! So much so that we did our best to incorporate the monogram in as many places as possible, with the most unqiue place being a spotlight version of the monogram on the château’s tower. When it finally grew dark, it was amazing to see our string lights and plethora of candles joined by the monogram. It really elevated the courtyard and created anothe ‘wow’ moment for us and our guests. [/field]

Strikingly elegant in its alluring simplicity, Alyssa’s gorgeous gown was created by luxury wedding dress designer Made With Love. Designed by Carla Jenkins, the Australian company describes itself as having “revolutionized the bridal world by creating beautiful and modern dresses for everyday, natural beauties” and being “known for our daring V necklines and plunging low backs as well as our luxurious French crepe dresses.” The top half of Alyssa’s sleeveless gown was graced with a white, floral lace pattern, with the lower half extending in a smooth, satin-like fall trailing a seemingly gossamer train. The dress both complimented her already radiant presence and showcased the “effortlessly chic,” unique skill of Made With Love.

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Seamlessly harmonizing with the color theme, the differing—yet all sleeveless—bridesmaid’s dresses alternated between dusty mauve and sea foam green with the Matron of Honor in sparkling rose gold gown. All blended beautifully and held fresh bouquets inspired by the in season flowers of the region. The one bride’s man wore a neatly tailored beige suit and a blush dress shirt. The bride’s attendants exemplified the light and uplifted glee felt when summer has just begun.[/field]

They wore well-tailored beige suits and light green dress shirts, along with peach-hued boutonnieres. The groom’s attendants also represented the joy of summer’s early rays and looked effortlessly cool in their mismatched sunglasses.[/field]

Local caterer, Traiteur Ruth Williams, provided the incredible cuisine for the evening while her husband, Alan, was the bar manager and sommelier. It’s no secret that France is the country for foodies but Ruth really confirmed that during this wedding. Starting with butler passed canapés at the beginning of the evening; the food seemed never-ending. Starters included tomato and pesto tarts with burrata and fresh greens on the side. Entreé’s were a choice between Sea Bass and Steak with blistered tomatoes and the perfect sauce to compliment each drizzled on top. The highlight of the evening for many guests was the dessert charcuterie boards that were lovingly distributed on the farm tables which included traditional French pastries that were all, of course, incredible. One more surprise delight was a late-night charcuterie table filled with a variety of French breads, cheeses, meats, and spreads. Of course, Alan was there with wine recommendations to compliment the charcuterie table because there’s nothing like the perfect French wine to go with a meat and cheese table. Am I right?

Florals by Flavia Dausoa-Dautel—of La Maison Dautel—abounded around the farmhouse, ceremony center, and reception area, with roses and other romantic buds exuding hues of pink, white, peach, and leafy green. Planted as table settings, centerpieces, surprise splashes of color, and ceremony bouquets, these blossoms aligned beautifully with the color theme and early-summer aura of the special day. The décor could not have blended better with the blooms: Largely arranged outdoors; warm lights were strung about, giving everyone a soft glow from above for dinner. A delicate white array of seats awaited all in attendance for the ceremony out in the olive tree grove. The reception spot was woven with long wooden farm tables and matching chairs. The farmhouse itself had a natural stone exterior, punctuated with sea foam shutters aptly uttering a similar shade as that of the artfully knotted napkins.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Right after sunset, everyone lit sparklers and gathered around a glittering champagne tower (in lieu of cake-cutting). All manner of individually sized desserts appeared on tables during this time in the forms of fruit tarts, French macaroons, and chocolate delicacies. Lastly, a tall, four-tiered wedding cake arrived, lightly covered in an ivory icing and tastefully dappled with roses and blooms.[/field]

The Farm in Provence—nestled in the south of France where the joyous event occurred—was full of vibrant charm that day. Not only is this a historic and charming property, but it’s a quiet escape from the busy hustle and bustle of Nice, France, located just an hour away. Prior to their wedding day, Al and Alyssa arranged a tour of the local perfumery factory, Fragonard. Grasse is known for its established and successful perfume industry. While it’s a small town in the French Riviera, it offers a lot of charm and sweeping views as it’s elevated on the hills North of Cannes. Swimming in Grasse’s summer glimmers, the enchanting locale felt especially lit up for the festivities on June 24, 2023.

The end of June is when the lavender fields are blooming in the Provence region of France and we knew we could not miss this stunning photography opportunity. Two days before their nuptials, Al and Alyssa met their photographer, The Gawnes in a lavender field. This sounds so simple and beautiful, but let me tell you, it was filled with many, many Google map location shares, a couple of confused U-turns, and an epic adventure in the French countryside, all with a time constraint to get Al and Alyssa back to Grasse in time for dinner with newly arrived family…but once everyone found each other amidst the purple blooms and rolling green hills, they all knew it was worth it. The pre-wedding lavender field shoot was one for the books.

The Welcome Dinner was hosted at a restaurant called Le Paddock located next to an equestrian center and stable. It serves to notch traditional French cuisine and views of the horses and practice arena. The decor is upscale and modern, complete with a glass wall of wine bottles and equine-inspired modern art.

Intimate Pastel Normandy Wedding In Shades Of Spring

Our vision was to create a once in a lifetime, French country chic wedding celebration that is romantic and intimate with distinctive fine art touches and a gentle nod to the Normandy region!

[field title=”Proposal Story”]The couple was engaged in November of 2019. The groom planned a whole day, starting with the Met – one of the bride’s favorite places in the world. Afterward, they went to Central Park – another one of her favorite places – for a long walk. They ended up at their “spot” which is a hill nestled in some trees and when the bride turned around to settle in, the groom was down on one knee. Later, the bride’s best friend and her partner popped out to surprise the couple with champagne and flowers![/field]

On the wedding night, the 5-course dinner consisted of white asparagus crème brulée, roasted quail, cheeses from Normandy, strawberry and olive oil salad with tarragon sorbet, and signature wedding cake.[/field]

Inspired By 18th-Century France And Timeless Elegance In The Loire Valley Countryside

During the planning process, Britt Jones drew inspiration from 18th-century France and the charming, timeless interiors of Château Du Grand-Lucé. This fusion of historical influences and contemporary design principles resulted in a space that exudes both sophistication and enduring beauty.

[field title=”Wedding Colors”]To compliment this stunning chateau, it is important to create a color palette that seamlessly aligns with the personality of the property. Blue, soft pinks, orange hues, and strong black accents allowed a great jumping-off point to craft this magical shoot. [/field]

Château Du Grand-Lucé is a sprawling property situated in the quaint and charming Loire Valley countryside. Its immaculate gardens and exquisite interiors offer the perfect destination for a luxury wedding in France.

The bride wore two looks, one for the ceremony and one for the reception. The ceremony look was a ruffled dress layered in pearls designed by Dylan Parienty Paris. The secondary look, also designed by Dylan Parienty, was more light and airy with a statement shape to it. It had a bow beaded into the neckline and a train that left everyone speechless.

The inspiration for the florals from, Les Ephemeres, was to create a seamless transition from the gardens of the château grounds into a style that kept that organic French feel. Each of the blooms utilized looked like they could have been harvested on-site and hand-picked from the garden.

My favorite design element of the day was the two gorgeous gowns from Dylan Parienty Paris. They were both showstopping pieces that matched the level of drama needed for the gorgeous Château Du Grand-Lucé. The combination of elegance and drama in these gowns elevated the entire event.

[field title=”Tips To Pull Off The Look”]I would recommend really playing off of the architecture, landscaping, and design elements of your venue. Especially when getting married in a French Château, there is so many color palettes to pull from and rich historical heirlooms to play off of for a design. Using it’s already stunning bones and enhancing those can make pure magic.[/field]

Our stationery artist, Lenka Calligraphy, dedicated her skilled hand to craft a breathtaking front-facing rendering of Chateau du Grand Luce. The result is an exquisite work of art that captures the essence and grandeur of this magnificent chateau.

Embracing Nature’s Beauty in the French Alps at Chateau de Meouilles

The bride opted for the elegance of purple shades, while the groom chose natural green as his preference. These hues formed the foundation of their color scheme, which was further complemented by soft cream and mauve, creating an atmosphere of intimacy and timelessness.

Their aim was to fashion a celebration that not only brought them together but also took everyone on a remarkable voyage. They wanted their guests, who hailed from different corners of the world, to explore the beauty of nature in a distant land and celebrate this special occasion together.
With meticulous attention to detail, they crafted the wedding design, setting the mood and tone for their special day. They began by selecting keywords that encapsulated their desired wedding ambiance, eventually settling on “Intimate,” “Natural,” and “Timeless.” These words guided their choices in every aspect of the celebration.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]They first met in 2016 during the vibrant celebrations of the Songkran Water Festival in Phuket. It felt as though fate had intervened, bringing their paths together in the midst of a bustling street on a hot summer day. For them, it was undeniably love at first sight, as a powerful connection was forged in that magical moment.
From that day forward, they spent an entire week together, exploring the island, sharing laughter and stories, and gradually getting to know one another. However, the inevitable moment arrived when he had to return to France, marking the beginning of their long-distance relationship. Every six months, they embarked on journeys across the world to be reunited, experiencing both the wonders of the world and the depths of each other’s personalities.
In 2019, a life-changing decision was made: she moved to France, where her heart had found its true home with the love of her life. The culmination of their journey came during a boat trip to the Calanques National Park in the south of France in the summer of 2021. It was a beautiful summer day, and they were immersed in the splendor of nature, swimming and savoring the moment. As the sun began to set and cast its golden hues upon the waters, he knelt down and asked her for a lifetime together.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]They chose French cuisine for the reception. It was easy making the menu selection as they both share a similar taste in food.
To begin, they chose a delectable Foie Gras Terrine infused with aged rum, accompanied by a mango chutney infused with vanilla.
For the main course, were presented two options: a beef fillet in a crust with duck foie gras or a Royal Dorado fillet, lovingly complemented by a lemony white butter sauce and a side of coconut milk-infused risotto. There was a selection of cheeses before concluding the meal with the Pièce montée, followed by sweets.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]In harmony with the chosen mood and tone, they selected organic flower arrangements that enhanced the natural beauty of the surroundings. Incorporating elements such as wood, linen, and clay into the design, they added a touch of gold to infuse the decor with timeless elegance.[/field]

An Enchanting Summer Wedding at Chateau Tourreau

Soft blush, mint green, lavender, and powder blue came together to create a palette that exuded romance and sophistication. A Provence Wedding Weekend That’s Overflowing With Style

The Welcome Party on Friday night was inspired by the farmers market in Aix, featuring local flowers and fruit found at the market that day, creating a pink, purple, green, and yellow color palette. The Wedding on Saturday had a timeless green, white, and blue color palette.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Welcome Party: Inspired by the local markets in Aix en Provence, we used local blooms from local farmers, lots of citrus details, and hand-painted watercolor menus to create a classic design. Guests found their seats from a romantic, fairy-tale-inspired scroll that hung from the gates of the chateau, and then enjoyed a family-style, multi-course dinner under a canopy of bistro lights.

Pool Party: Inspired by a classic, 1950s old hollywood pool day: the couple and their guests enjoyed Rose by the pool the morning of the wedding. From the orange towels to the bride’s classic black suit, it was fun, playful, and a relaxing way to start the day.

The Wedding: The ceremony took place in an allay of trees facing a beautiful chapel built in the 1700s. We created a large deconstructed floral arch over the door to frame the couple, and lush white florals lined the aisle. A cloth welcome sign hung from one of the trees. A string quartet played as Liz walked down the aisle. Then, the guests enjoyed canapes inside the chateau, getting to enjoy the several interior entertaining spaces: from the library to the sitting room, the billiard room to the grand salon. Finally, the guests sat outside for dinner at a long feasting table, underneath an asymmetrical installation of florals on the bannisters of the chateau. The table was adorned in light blue linen, white florals, over 100 candles, and blue and white watercolor menus. After an amazing multi-course French Meal, they danced the night away. It was such an incredible weekend![/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Greg and Liz met in Boston at Northeastern University in 2012. Liz first caught Greg’s eye at the school Fall Fest where she had been wandering around hoping to find a club to join. Greg quickly swooped in to invite her to the men’s rowing party to kick off the school year, and the rest was history. During their time at college, Greg completed his last co-op across the pond, spending six months in London. Liz happily visited him throughout his stay and it was then that they discovered their mutual love of traveling and the quaint English city. After spending a few years teaching Liz to ski, Greg decided to pop the question in their favorite ski town beneath the twinkling lights along the tree lined streets of Aspen. Needless to say, Liz said yes. [/field]

Welcome Party: Dress was by Rebecca Vallance from Lola Dre. Shoes were by Sam Edleman Liz found her Margot gown with a cape (made from a pearl-embellished veil) at Grace Loves Lace. We love that she paired it with a long pearl-studded cape made from a veil. It was a bold and beautiful twist on the traditional bridal ensemble. She wore pearl bracelets from Tiffany & Co., pearl drop earrings, and diamond stud earrings borrowed from her mom.

A Family Style Dinner was served at the welcome party with Piazzetta Stratciatella and Truffle, Carpaccio of Sea Bream with Citrus Fruits of Provence and local Olive Oil, Artichoke Salad barigoule style and Marseille Mesclun. The main dish was Lamb Shoulder confit with oriental spices, and Chicken cooked on the chest. On the side was served Roasted Potato, Traditional Provencial Aioli, Vegetables of Provence with Lemon Olive oil. Finally, dessert was Pavlova with seasonal red fruit and lavender vanilla ice cream, and Lemon Pie with lightly burned Meringue.

The Wedding:
Cocktail Hour had an array of canapes including Melon and Culattelo Skewers; Tartar of Sea Bream with passion and citrus fruits of Provence, Royale of Zucchini and Fresh Ricotta, and Gaspacho Provencal. There were also two show Cooking Stations on the veranda, Lamb Chop a la Plancho, and Lacquered Prawns. Aperol Spritz was the cocktail of choice on this warm summer day.

Dinner was a delicious multi course French meal. It started with an Amuse-Bouche Mediterranean Gamberro, then a Niçoise salad. Finally, Roasted Chicken Supreme with hazelnut butter and lacquered with olive juice potato mousseline with summer truffle, and tangy seasonal chanterelle.

To accompany the late night of dancing, there was a Late Night Food station displaying a Cheese Platter, Pizza with Truffle, Panini Burrata Tomato, and a French Fries Platter.[/field]

Our floral team created a breathtaking ceremony in an allay of trees facing a beautiful chapel built in the 1700s. At cocktail hour, guests enjoyed canapes inside the enchanting chateau, getting to enjoy the library, the sitting room, the billiard room to the grand salon. The outdoor dinner space featured an asymmetrical installation of white florals on the chateau bannisters. The long feasting table was adorned in light blue linen, lush white floral compotes, over 100 candles, and blue and white watercolored menus. String lights hovered above guests as they enjoyed the lovely ambiance.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Dessert was a beautiful spread of Chocolate Royale, Macarons, Strawberry Pie from Provence, Lemon and Hazelnut tart, Tiramisu, and a sliced fresh fruit board.[/field]

They played Katy Perry’s “Firework” while the bridal party walked down the aisle, and then Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” for Liz’s entrance. Blending Rustic and Modernity at Château de Varennes in Burgundy

[field title=”Proposal Story”]In late 2019, the two started planning a trip to Brussels, Paris, and Prague for the following February. Victoria offered to organize Airbnbs and flights, ensuring that they would be in Paris for a particularly romantic holiday. Little did she know that Ryan was simultaneously doing his own planning to ensure everything was perfect for that day. Upon arrival in Paris early in the morning on February 13, they went straight to Disneyland for a magical day. The next morning, Valentine’s Day, they visited a café in the 16th Arrondissement for a coffee and a pastry (Ryan’s breakfast of choice) before walking around the city. It wasn’t until they reached the banks of the Seine River, with the perfect view of the Eiffel Tower in the background, that Ryan got on one knee and proposed. It was an even more magical day filled with happy tears, croissants, incredible food, and still-vivid memories. They made the most of their time in all three cities, not realizing that their world would turn upside down less than a month later due to the Covid Pandemic.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Victoria grew up in Montréal, Québec, Canada and moved to Southern California at the age of 15. Ryan was born in San Diego, California and lived in both Northern and Southern California, Seattle, and Washington, DC (where his parents have lived since) before moving back to Southern California for college.

Victoria and Ryan met in the undergraduate dining hall, and he was interested in interviewing her for a linguistics class project. The two quickly became inseparable, and a few months later, they spent Memorial Day weekend in 2011 together at Disneyland. They finally became official boyfriend and girlfriend on the Little Mermaid Ride, after it unexpectedly broke down at the perfect moment.

In 2012, only a few short months into their relationship, they flew out to the east coast to enjoy each other’s company during winter break. They started in Washington, DC, where they played tourist, met Ryan’s family, and explored the vibrant capital area. A few days into the trip, however, and almost on impulse, they booked the least expensive route north to Montréal to visit Victoria’s extended family. Ryan, a much more naïve traveler at the time, thought the climates would be similar and packed few layers prior to their departure from Union Station. Sixteen hours later, they disembarked Amtrak’s Adirondack service in Montréal’s Gare Centrale to windchills of -15F and howling winds. While it was the first of many culture shocks, Ryan quickly grew fond of the area and, with only a few words of French in his vocabulary, loved his visit to the city.

From fraternity formals to weekend trips in Las Vegas, Victoria and Ryan became college sweethearts. However, they didn’t pick up the “travel bug” until after they graduated. Their first big trip together was a month-long backpacking trip in 2015 across (where else?) the many regions of France. While most others their age opted for trips across Europe without staying in a city, or even a country, for more than a few days, they sought to dive deep and learn as much as they could. And they did – they visited dozens of cities, prioritizing UNESCO World Heritage sites, world-famous wine regions, places significant to Victoria’s family history, and anywhere with good food. The trip also inspired Ryan to start formally learning French, kicking off years of formal classes and informal practice.

In the years to come, Ryan and Victoria would continue to travel in the same spirit, often sticking to one country, making impromptu plans, and letting their interest in trying new foods (e.g., India) guide the way. However, after a few years, Victoria made sure to schedule hair and nail appointments before any big trip – after all, proposals can happen anywhere! Future trips took them through the rolling hills of Tuscany, atop stunning observation decks in Taipei and Tokyo, and along the postcard beaches of Costa Rica and Vietnam. Each was more memorable than the last, but one detail remained missing.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Why France?
Of all the places we’ve been, it’s our favorite place to return to! In 2015, we spent our first trip together backpacking France for a month, visiting over 35 cities. Returning every few years for visits, Ryan became mostly fluent in French, while Victoria speaks French (due to her upbringing in Montréal). On Valentines Day in 2020, Ryan proposed in front of the Eiffel Tower. Unfortunately due to covid, our engagement would end up being prolonged. We knew we wanted to celebrate our wedding in France from early on since it’s where we explored together for the first time, fell in love, shared the language and the place where we were eventually engaged. Even though the travel borders were still closed, we booked our venue and began to plan from abroad. We knew we wanted our celebration to be more than a 6 hour wedding like in the US. We had envisioned a multi day event where we could share the experience of the beauty, culture, and food that France has to offer, that we fell in love with. [/field]

Though we had previously visited multiple potential venues in France, none fit all of our needs. During the pandemic, we booked a FaceTime visit with Château de Varennes and fell in love. It was the perfect mix of classic and modern. It had a wide array of amenities that we were eager to share with our guests, who would be spending a few days with us on-site. It hosted the perfect backdrop for our ceremony, with dreamy additions like nearby horses and a beautiful lavender field. We loved that the Château was not only able to accommodate most of our guests, but was also a truly historic property with over 400 years of lineage.[/field]

Fashion-Forward Provence Wedding at Chateau de Robernier

[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Our wedding colors were cream, white and sage, we wanted everything to feel calm, neutral and in keeping with the landscape in the south of France. Our florists, sisters and bridesmaids brought our vision to life beautifully. The courtyard looked spectacular with the hanging foliage across the top table.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The South of France was an easy choice for us! Brad has a very keen passion for wine, and I love all things fabulous, so the location was an easy one. When it came to choosing the venue, however, we had slightly different ideas. When we began looking for wedding venues Brads favorite word was “Rustic” and I just kept saying to him I think you mean “fabulous”. Brad wanted a courtyard wedding, and I had my heart set on fairytale castle. When we found Château Robernier, we both instantly knew it was the venue for us. It was the most perfect mix of fabulous and rustic rolled into one. Château Robernier is just magical, and we felt like we were living a dream the entire time we were there. Driving up the beautiful driveway to the venue the goosebumps start as the palms sway in the warm breeze. The exterior of the venue is like something from a fairytale and the interior is equally as beautiful and so elegant. The courtyard which we had lit with pontoon lighting was perfectly intimate and romantic for the wedding breakfast and gave Brad that courtyard fix. It was important to us that we could privatize the venue for two days so we could have a wedding brunch the next day. Château Robernier was perfect for this with its pool to continue the party into the next day. We loved how intimate the venue was and that it allowed us to create a wedding that was very personal to us. We genuinely felt our guests were blown away as much as we were, and we loved every second of being there.

I guess you could say our vision was rustic but fabulous! We went with a black-tie dress code, we wanted it to be an over the top but relaxed affair. We wanted the wedding to feel elegant and refined yet fun and relaxed at the same time. We knew we had to put on a party, and we certainly feel that is what we did.
It was also extremely important to us that once guests were at our wedding they didn’t need to think about anything but having a good time. We were so humbled that people from across the world (as far as Australia) travelled to celebrate with us. I will always remember one of my bridesmaids dancing on a chair during the wedding breakfast turning to me and saying she was having the best night of her life. We didn’t use a wedding planner, so our vision was totally our own and it was captured beautifully by our photographers who absolutely blew us away in every sense of the word. Maïlys Fortune who we used as our photographers amazed us both during our wedding and when we received the photos, they are simply magical![/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Brad and I met in Dubai, whilst he was working between Dubai and the UK. Of course, like many modern-day romances it started with a dating app and grew from there. Covid meant Brad had to be pinned to one place which really allowed our relationship to grow and when restrictions eased Brad moved to the UAE full time. Brad surprised me with a 30th Birthday trip to the Ritz Carlton in the Maldives. The resort was breathtaking, and we felt totally removed from the rest of world, it was like our own piece of paradise. On the evening of my birthday Brad down on one knee under the stars…and the rain, which made its only appearance that week for the moment! The entire holiday was magic, and the Maldives will always hold a special place in our hearts.[/field]

Finding my dress and having my dress alternations with the wedding club was a dream process in every way. I choose a beautiful Berta gown with a fitted bodice and tulle skirt with a daring slit and sparkle to match my personality…sassy! I felt like a queen. I also had a beautiful bespoke Chantilly lace backless getting ready gown, an evening gown and a brunch gown made by the extremely talented Susanna Rachel Bridal in Dubai, if you are looking for bespoke in Dubai, she is your girl.[/field]

Our appetizers were an interactive affair with live cooking stations serving beautiful bite sized dishes, carving of serrano ham and oyster stations. This was followed by a choice of either sea bream or fillet of beef, beautiful desserts, and cheese boards. As we wanted to make sure everyone was having a good time, we provided an open bar across the three days of our wedding party. For the drinks we began the day with cocktails on the lawn which were a choice of either Aperol spritz or Saint Germain Spritz. We also served a selection of drinks including fizz, beer, Mirabeau Gin and Mirabeau rosé for cocktail hour. For our evening meal, Brad beautifully paired red, white and rosé wines we sourced in France as well as Champagne. As the party got started, out came the evening cocktail choices which were espresso martinis and old-fashioned cocktails along with a gin bar and most spirits you can think of. For the brunch day bloody Mary’s were first on the agenda![/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Our wedding flowers, by the wonderful sisters and blush were a mix of white roses, hydrangeas, eucalyptus and hanging foliage. The courtyard was our favorite part of the décor. The hanging foliage structure across the top table with the hanging candles and pontoon lighting by wildfire DJs was just magical as the sun went down. We used Be Lounge to hire all of our furniture and Mirabeau Rose to hire a bar for our cocktail drinks. We also did a lot of DIY mirrors and favors which we brought over with us from Dubai or purchased whilst we were in France the week before the wedding.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Our wedding cake was a traditional French “pièce montée” with pâte à choux.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]We had one of our bridesmen sing one of his songs during the ceremony. I walked down the aisle to a thousand years and our exit song was September by earth wind and fire which is a favorite of ours and our family. Our favorite reading, was our Winnie the pooh reading:

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]It is so difficult to give a single moment as there were so many. There were the obvious ones of seeing my Dads reaction as I came down the stairs in the Chateau which brought tears to both of our eyes. The next big moment was walking down the aisle and seeing Brad stood in his tuxedo about to become my Husband. What I think really moved both Brad and I was having everybody we loved in one place. COVID was hard for us living as expats away from family and friends, and this was one of the first times we had seen some people in years, and it was just amazing to have everybody we love join us to celebrate our special day. Brad and I both went upstairs and looked out onto courtyard whilst everyone was waiting for us to enter and seeing everyone together and enjoying themselves made us both extremely emotional.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Brad LOVES cars – he owns a racing company in Dubai. I wanted to create a lovely surprise for him, so I sought our a sleek ride for him. It was the gorgeous 1958 Porsche 356 Speedster we rode around the venue during our portraits. It felt so special for both. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]For our honeymoon we will be travelling to South Africa and we will be going to a game reserve on the border of Botswana. We will then be flying into the Seychelles to do some island hopping which will end at the Six Senses private island.[/field]

Celebrating Classic French Design at Chateau de Champlatreux

[field title=”The Inspiration”]In designing this celebration, planner Heather Benge of Styled Shoots Across America brought together elements to celebrate both the classical French interiors and enchanting flower filled grounds of Chateau de Champlatreux. The ceremony site, set on the sweeping back steps of the chateau, made for a truly iconic moment while the intimate reception design celebrated the whimsical outdoor garden grounds.

While the ceremony focused on the grand back steps of the venue, and the reception setup overlooked the chateau from the shady trees, for portraits we wanted to highlight the unique flower fields that make up the exquisite grounds streaming out from the venue. Photographer Katie Trauffer used the golden late afternoon light to craft glowing portraits that would highlight the whimsical, romantic effervescence of the flowering lawn. [/field]

[field title=”The Venue”]The idyllic Chateau de Champlatreux, located just forty minutes from the heart of Paris, served as the inspiration for this French garden party celebration. The ceremony and reception design was filled with greens, but in the bouquet, La Maison Dautel focused primarily on blooms and used greens only sparingly. The creams and honey tones beautifully complimented the venue, and by doing a bloom heavy design, the bride’s bouquet stood out amongst the other florals of the day.[/field]
[field title=”Tips To Pull Off The Look”]Every Chateau in France has such a unique personality, and part of what makes Chateau de Champlatreux so beautiful is the whimsical park in place of what is typically a more formal garden. This inspired the team to create a more relaxed, romantic feel by placing the table amongst the fields. Venues play such a large and important role in setting the tone for your celebration, so especially when considering destination events, be selective to find a venue that embodies the spirit you want your celebration to have.[/field]

Chic Chateau De Champlatreux Wedding Inspiration Done In The Tones Of Springtime

The inspiration behind this stunning day at Lauren Fair’s workshop in Paris was a modern twist on the historical French elegance. Truly, one does not need much to make the icon Chateau De Champlatreux shine, but with the help of wedding planner Elizabeth Goal from East Made Co, and florist Floraison Paris, they teamed up and created a visionary masterpiece. From the ceremony site arch to the reception table design, each detail complimented the Chateau, but while making a bold statement.

The color scheme reflected Spring time tones. The ceremony floral arch complimented the soft dusty Fresh blue tones of the Chateau front door with pastel yellow, purples, and pinks. Where the florals on the reception table mimicked the ceremony but had a hint more richness of pink. A bold pop of pink tones that sat on a soft dusty French blue tablecloth.

Chateau De Champlatreux is truly one of the most iconic and historical places sitting outside the city of Paris. As you enter through the grand gates of the property, you are swapped away by the Chateau’s beauty. Once you walk through the lush hallways and grand ballrooms, you are teleported back to the 17th century. One can’t help but to feel as if born into royalty while on the stunning property of Chateau de Champlatreux.

As the night came to an end, the bride changed into a more form-fitting wedding dress and a second veil that was embroidered with white florals and beads. [field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The newlyweds wanted a spring design, elegant and romantic while being refined. the castle of Tourreau is one of the most magical places in Provence and it itself imposes a beautiful atmosphere.

This is particularly found on the secular ceremony with beautiful floral touches and a provided arch. It was made in the park of the castle.

On the side of the meal, it was made under a starry sky in front of the castle and the tables were arranged to form a square surrounding the dance floor. The overall atmosphere is intimate and romantic.
We find on the tables a floral decoration in the same tones as the ceremony with mainly roses and gypsophila. The cutlery is gilded and matches the edges of the glasses. The menu is placed in the center of the plate on a linen napkin.[/field]

The guests were able to enjoy two flavors: lemon sponge cake and raspberry cream.

Springtime Wedding Inspiration At Chateau Martinay In The South Of France

When designing this beautiful event at Chateau Martinay in the heart of Provence, the planner, AMV Weddings, used the colors and landscape of the venue as her primary inspiration. She incorporated subtle tones in the palette with touches of creamy ivory and shades of eggshell to compliment the stunning chateau facade. The ceremony was set in the gorgeous cyprus alley, a pathway in the back gardens of the chateau lined with iconic and sprawling cyprus trees. Situated in the heart of this iconic pathway, the ceremony design featured a lush double arch with a pop of bright florals, creating the dreamiest location for the couple’s nuptials. The reception table was set in the main chateau courtyard, with the facade of the building serving as a breathtaking backdrop. This grand elongated table design made for the perfect balance between a statement tablescape yet featured a very intimate welcoming element with warm neutral tones. The florals by La Maison Dautel enhanced the design with a very elevated, luxe European style.

The cocktail hour featured passed hors d’oeuvres as well as a chef’s station poetically called “White Cloud with Truffle” (truffle-infused potato mousse with a savory cream foam.) The seated meal treated guests to a seasonal starter of beautiful green asparagus, sheep’s milk cheese, sour chanterelles and rocket, and a classic main of beef filet and potatoes. For dessert, guests selected from a variety of French patisserie tarts and cakes.

Quite Luxury Style at Airelles’ La Bastide de Gordes

[field title=”Wedding Colors”]We used a soft colour palette – mainly shades of white, yellow and light orange, with a hint of red. White for its timeless elegance and warm colours for the Mediterranean vibe we were looking for achieving our Dolce Vita vision.[/field]

When we started thinking about the location, it was easy to decide on the South of France as we love it and have always been spending a chunk of our summers there with Michael’s family. However, we had never visited Gordes before, but then we found Airelles’ La Bastide de Gordes and we were sold from the get go. It had all of the things we were looking for and more – elegance, the simple luxury feel and the pinch-me views over a gorgeous valley. One of the first things I did when we decided that we would have our wedding a year from the proposal was to create a presentation that included visual mood boards for each aspect of the wedding from the location, the drivers for each event, the stationery, the flowers and photography all the way to details about our own as well as our families’ attires. The overall keywords were: intimate, timeless, effortless & chic with a fresh touch of the la dolce vita vibe. When I went over this with our incredible wedding planner, Aurelie, and our talented floral designer, Elise, they immediately understood our vision and were fully aligned. They embraced and embellished all of our ideas and brought them to life through gentle chic and playful floral arrangements for the aisle set up, the ceremony arch, cocktail bar, the tables setting, and made sure everything worked in harmony with the chairs, the plates, the glasses and all of the other details.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Michael proposed on August 12, 2020, in Chianti, Tuscany,
Just between the two Covid waves, we were able to get out of London and went to spend a month in the sunny South of France followed by a week in Tuscany.
After a few days of exploring Firenze, we went to the Chianti region and Michael had arranged for us to stay at what I found, when we arrived, one of the most beautiful and serene places. It was set right in the heart of Chianti, overlooking endless vineyards and the city of Siena.
On our last evening there, we went down for aperitivo and after being extremely particular about where we should sit, Michael asked if I wanted to go for a walk to take some pictures of the sunset over the hills. As I was walking behind him, all of a sudden, he stopped and went down on one knee holding an engagement ring box and started reciting this beautiful speech that I made him repeat after because I was too shocked to hear anything the first time.
It was just so natural and perfect. Just the two of us and a magnificent sunset setting over the vineyards and olive groves of the Tuscan hills.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]The main words I constantly used to search for inspiration or describe what I wanted for my wedding dress were: modern but classic, simple but sophisticated and with some sort of subtle statement details. Not very straightforward, right?
I thought I knew what I wanted but I ended up going to four different bridal stores that had the designers I was interested in. I had gone back for second visits two times as I thought I had found my dress, twice, but I was not fully head over heels either time.
I then analysed what those two dresses that I thought were “THE dress” had, and found that the first was very simple but had quite pompous sleeves that I loved and the second had a very elegant cut and a fabulous, quite heavy silk fabric. That’s what I wanted and I thought I would have to alter either the first or the second to combine them somehow but then, as a miracle,I found Danielle Frankel and specifically the Ruby dress… I was so in love with it from the second I saw it.
I had to order it online as none of the London stores had their dresses at the time and going to NYC to see and try it on was impossible because of Covid but that did not bother me as I knew it was the dress for me. The Danielle Frankel team was very helpful throughout the process also.
The moment I tried on the dress, even though it was not the right size, I remember I was ecstatic and started swirling around and bouncing the sleeves up and down, thinking “this is so me”.
I then paired it with a simple, golden pair of Manolo Blahnik sandals which were made to order; a bespoke mesh veil that covered half of my face and that was twisted around a low bun; gold tone triple pearl studs from Jennifer Behr and I finished my look off with a scent that I found perfect for the occasion, Gentle Fluidity from Maison Francis Kurkdijan. [/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]For our mothers, I envisioned soft tones but wanted them to feel beautiful and comfortable so they were free to choose.They both chose similar powder rose shades. My mother wore a flowing silk sleeved dress that had a similar detail to my sleeved tulle.

I had my best friend as my maid of honour and my younger sister as my bridesmaid. Their moodboard illustrated warm yellows, soft blues, peach and light pink tones and the text said “La dolce vita chic – light and summery fabrics” but I left the style open to each one of them as I also wanted them to feel confident. My sister chose a tiered floral print dress from Needle & Thread and wore it with a pair of dainty earrings I had gifted her on the day and my best friend wore an elegant, one shoulder soft blue gown with pearl drop earrings,similar to mine, also gifted on the day. They both wore identical gold slim necklaces I had gifted them before the wedding as well.
My sister’s dress perfectly tied in together, colour wise, the dresses of our mothers, my bestfriend and my sister in law. [/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Michael wore a black, classic Tom Ford tuxedo that had subtle wool silk details. He paired it with a simple black silk bow tie and shoes from TF also. To finish his look, I gifted him a pair of round pearl detail cufflinks from Lanvin on the day.
Both our fathers, Michael’s brother and his groomsmen had also worn black tuxedos that they paired with individually personalised cufflinks Michael had gifted them.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]To give our guests a feel for what our wedding would be like beforehand, I designed a website which included useful information and had illustrative touches of lemons and olive branches that went in line with my vision for the bespoke invitation suite and the overall fresh wedding look & feel. All of the stationery was realised with the help of the very talented Christelle from Creme de Papier.
Together we created a small, minimalistic three fold booklet as part of our welcome pack in which a beautiful watercolour illustration of Gordes created by Christelle highlighted the three relevant wedding events locations as well as other attraction recommendations we had prepared for our guests. It was one of the many details I really loved.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Instead of a wedding cake, Luiza and Michael had a French croquembouche prepared by the pastry Chef of La Bastide de Gordes[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]2. We chose one of Michael’s closest friends, who quickly became one of my closest friends too when Michael and I started dating, as our celebrant. He was there when we first met and he knew us both very well. He slipped into his speech that at the time we met Michael had said to him “I am going to marry that girl” right after we spoke which was, of course, a very sweet detail.
3. We wanted to give our mothers a chance to share their excitement for our day so we asked if they would like to speak instead of my/our fathers.
They were both thrilled and gave the sweetest,most beautiful speeches with light fun moments that made our evening even more special than it already was. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]I had little gifts and handwritten letters for Michael, my parents, my sister and best friend that I handed on the wedding day to express my love and appreciation for them.
I did not know, however, that Michael also had a small handwritten letter which he had sent me through my bestfriend on the day. It was such a special way to share everything we felt just between the two of us, aside from the vows we were going to share in front of our family & friends. [/field]

Intimate Garden-Style Celebration at Château de Fonscolombe in the Provencal Countryside

This place is distinguished by its French garden, but also by its two majestic towers which welcome us on our arrival and mark the outline of the French garden. Pastel colors and delicate textures bring a romantic and elegant atmosphere and fully contribute to the atmosphere of the place.

In order to achieve the look, flowers were key. Garden roses (including David Austin roses) would bring the chic garden vibe we were looking for. The floral designers incorporated small spring flowers to make it look more fresh and delicate, and also more cohesive with the hint of blue from our color palette. It not only looked but smelt like spring at the dinner table with the abundance of flowers! The Chateau wallpaper inspired the stationery designer for the invitation suite with its delicate ornaments. We used the pattern as a link throughout the whole stationery set, from invitations to day-of stationery.

A Fashionable French Affair That Makes All Of Our Destination Wedding Dreams Come True

The couple wanted to have a cozy wedding where each other’s families could talk and relax. And we wanted to make a wedding where we would be grateful to our parents who raised us, not ourselves. Due to the corona virus, my family in Japan could not come except my mother, but the number of new families increased and it was a very happy ceremony. The couple picked family owned venue / hotel, Hotel Alfred Sommier, that would offer family style mansion that has elegant, calm and discrete environment. Located in the mansion’s large dining room and canopy, it can be connected to the Salon doré with its beautiful Louis XV decorations. It opens on to the private garden and can also be extended into the garden if the weather permits. The cane medallion chairs and Alfred Sommier’s monogram on the Gien tableware convey the feeling of attending a family dinner.
