Reader Inspiration Board

Our next inspiration board was sent to me by Angel and in my opinion, is incredibly smart and chic…

inspiration board

The black, white and yellow palette is perfect…the prints bring it to another level. Thanks, Angel, for crafting a great board!!

Reader Inspiration Board

I think that the muted colors and the soft sophistication of this board is just gorgeous. It seems like the look has really been edited to include inspirations that are cohesive and simple in their beauty. Love it!

Reader Inspiration Board

Before I jump into our next board, a quick reminder that the giveaways we featured yesterday by Bel Canto, Every Jot and Tittle, Paloma’s Nest and Elle F Designs are open until 3PM EST today…if you haven’t already, make sure to enter! I’ll announce the winners later today.

Our next reader designed board was sent to me by Liz, who has a quick question about her color palette…

From Liz…

Because I have such strong colors in my palette, I would love some ideas for table settings with these colors. I was considering black tablecloths with pops of color but I don’t want it to be too dark. The venue is going to be a loft space in downtown providence. I also considered white with red and orange. I just don’t want to overdo it.

What do you guys think?

Reader Inspiration Board

Our next reader designed inspiration board was designed by Krista, who is tying the knot in just two short weeks! Holy Cow!

Love this Marie Antoinette style wedding…sweet and feminine, with shots of pink around every corner. So pretty! Krista, you have to let us know how it all turns out!!

SMP Loves…Elysium

There is really no way to describe the amazing videos Julie and Alex Hill create over at Elysium. You might remember they guest blogged for SMP last month. The shooting and editing are nothing short of incredible, not to mention the beautiful destination wedding videos they make! I was so excited for them when their peers voted them as one of Event DV’s Top 25 in the World Award for 2008! If you’re not planning to videotape your wedding, it is so worth it to head over to Elysium’s blog to see why you might have to change your mind!

Reader Inspiration Board

The giveaways that we featured yesterday by Bel Canto, Every Jot and Tittle, Paloma’s Nest and Elle F Designs are open until 3PM EST, then I will announce the winners later this afternoon!

Until then, I wanted to share a few of the reader inspiration boards that I have received lately. Here is the first, created by Stephanie who is planning her October ceremony in Sydney for more than a year now…

I love the vibe of this board…kind of homey and approachable, and yet still really artsy and sophisticated. I can’t wait to see how all of this turns out…Stephanie has offered to send pics of her real wedding after the big day! More to come!

Vintage Wedding Accessories

Another of my new favorite etsy shops is Bel Canto…vintage jewelry and wedding accessories that are so completely lovely! Each piece is handcrafted using bits and pieces from vintage wares. Marie, the fabulous designer, also has a great blog that features more of her work!

Can you believe that we have ANOTHER giveaway today!? Marie is giving away a $50 gift certificate to one of our readers! Just let us know which piece from her collection is your favorite and we’ll choose someone at random!

Tiny Notebooks by Every Jot and Tittle

I looooove these little notebooks that Every Jot and Tittle is making! They are a hodge podge of papers, bound together with a tiny brad. How cute would these be as a gift to bridesmaids so that they can make notes of things going on, of to-do’s for the wedding, of fun little tidbits along the way…

We are totally in the spirit of giving today, so SMP is giving away 8 of these to one lucky reader! Instructions are a little different than the last posts…just leave a comment as to what your favorite SMP post is, with a link to that post, and we’ll choose a reader at random! Fun way to see what you guys are loving!

Oh and guess what…we have one more giveaway coming today!

Wooden Thank You Notes by Paloma’s Nest

I have written about the amazingly lovely work over at Paloma’s Nest before…but I noticed that she recently updated her shop with THE CUTEST stuff. The wooden thank you notes are absolutely brilliant, the pretty gift bags and wooden gift boxes, the hand-stamped textiles…oh my! I could go on and on!

And, I haven’t let go of my love for Caroline’s perfect little ring bowls and now, her absolutely gorgeous heirloom bowls. She has so many beautiful pieces, each one crafted by hand with TLC. I love that.

Paloma’s Nest is one of my all time favorite etsy sellers, so if you haven’t already, spend some time checking out her beautiful work!

Caroline, Paloma’s oh-so-talented designer, is gifting one lucky reader a set of wooden thank you notes. Just leave a comment as to what your favorite product from her line is, and we’ll choose a winner at random!

Cake Toppers by Elle F Designs

So sorry that I am a little late on the posts today! But, I am excited that today, I get to share some of my favorite etsy finds. The first, was just sent to me this morning by Leslie, who is launching her new etsy cake topper business…and they are so stinking cute!

And guess what…SMP is gifting one of these little gems to one lucky reader!

Just leave a comment as to who your favorite etsy seller is and I will feature their work on SMP tomorrow. If your favorite seller is chosen, you’ll get the custom cake topper!

SMP Loves…Cyd’s Cookies

The mother/daughter team of Cyd and Emily just make the most wonderful homemade cookies—all from scratch!  Truly, Cyd’s cookies and wedding cakes are made from only the best ingredients, inspired by her childhood growing up on a farm, and honestly, you can taste the goodness! How about this—Double Chocolate Chunk cookies—made with real Belgian chocolate! I can tell you that these cookies taste just as amazing as they sound—I had them at my own wedding reception and they were oh-so good!

A Charleston Bride, III

A bit more from the gorgeous wedding we are featuring today!

As many of you know, we have a new baby in the Larson house. So, needless to say, I am up at the most random hours feeding her. Last night, while doing just that, I spent some time on A Charleston Bride’s website and got way too excited about some of the weddings that they are featuring in their gallery. You have to check them out if you get a minute! Melissa’s work has this rare combination of chic style and lovely approachability. Every wedding that she’s done is absolutely gorgeous!

I’m requesting images from some of the other weddings that Melissa has designed, so if there is one that you would love to see more of from her gallery, just let me know!

A Charleston Bride, II

A bit more from the fun, green and black inspired affair that Melissa at A Charleston Bride sent me…

I know that this particular color palette is one that many of you love, so it’s great to see it executed so exquisitely! It’s just such a striking palette…so fresh and chic. Plus, your bridesmaids will love you for letting them wear their favorite little black dress!

The gorgeous photos were taken by Richard Israel, one of our newest Little Black Book members (I love that so many of our LBB vendors work together on weddings and really support each other’s work). Richard’s photographs are completely beautiful…they are so vivid, so full of life. I am especially smitten with his color photographs, as the seem to just jump right off the page. Love, love, love Richard.

SMP Loves…Llubav

These ring pillows and flower pins are so charming! From the intricate bead work to the lush Hungarian wool felt, they are little works of art that could be passed on for years to come. I’m apparently not the only one who loved them though…in the movie Legally Blonde 2, Reese Witherspoon actually wears one on her left shoulder! How great is that?! For more info, check out design*sponge.

A Charleston Bride

If yesterday’s real wedding was soft and romantic, today’s is lively and beautifully bold. Sent to me by Melissa at A Charleston Bride (this incredible event planner out of Charleston, SC), I fell instantly in love with this wedding…

All photos by Art of Vision

I love this green, black and white color palette…it’s so sharp, so fun. And, it’s carried through literally every element, so the whole affair seems cohesive and seamless. I have more pictures coming of this wedding, so stay tuned!

Real Wedding: Tracy and Steve, III

A few more bits of eye candy from Tracy and Steve’s wedding for you to enjoy…

The photographs were all taken by a new photography team in the San Francisco Bay Area…Verite. Their work is really beautiful and I have to say, I am blown away by these gorgeous images that we’ve featured today. If you are in need of a little inspiration, check out their website. It’s actually still being developed, but the photographers, Robyn and Maria, have their own sites that are filled with eye candy!

Thanks so much, Tracy, for letting us feature your big day!!

Real Wedding: Tracy and Steve, II

I had originally planned on doing one post on Tracy and Steve’s wedding, then featuring a couple of other’s from last week’s table setting feature. But, I got lost in Tracy’s absolutely amazing images, so I’ve decided to feature even more throughout the day…

tracy

How amazing are those earrings!? Those gorgeous shoes!? And the deep purple bridesmaids dress!? Every single element of this wedding is so lovely. So full of life and beauty. I am going to see if Tracy will stop by for a bit in our comments section to share more about her beautiful wedding.

I have more pictures to come!

Real Wedding: Tracy and Steve

The table setting that was featured from this wedding was a huge hit so I wanted to share more of the photos!

real wedding

From Tracy, the gorgeous bride…

Our wedding was May 31, 2008 at Murrieta’s Well in Livermore, CA.  My husband, Steve, and I wanted an intimate, rich event filled with warm textures, great food and wine and lots of laughter!  We really achieved all three of these (and even more).  I really focused on textures when putting together my look and feel for the day.  Andrea, at Studio AYT, incorporated cork into our invitations to reflect the winery venue, we used white dogwood and orchids to mirror the rough/soft feel of the concrete barrel room and soft twinkle lights.  I wanted to bring in a classic old Hollywood feel to my look and my hair designer really did a great job with the soft waves to match the lace of my dress.   Finally, I LOVE LIGHTING so we really used different shades of up lighting on the outside of the winery and in the vines to give the dance/lounge area a jeweled fabric feel.

We were so pleased with how everything turned out and are even happier to be married!

SMP Loves…Amelio Designs

Joanna Amelio takes such great care during the design process to make sure that the dress is really a reflection of the bride. Each dress is a wonderful mix of nature’s line and inspiration from the bride, which makes the whole experience not at all stressful and 100 percent amazing. She also makes gorgeous veils, and accessories. The hairpins are truly lovely. The best part about Joanna’s designs is that the possibilities are literally endless. All brides are encouraged to use any and all inspiration. The results are one of a kind and oh-so fabulous!
