Romantic Summer Wedding at Island Art and Taste in Greece

For a couple who became inseparable after their first date, a destination wedding in Greece was the location of choice. From an intimate first look to handwritten vows, captured by Les Anagnou Photographers, James Escobar and Alain Mbouche, you can feel the love radiating from these two. Think Happy Events planned the perfect day filled with an array of green and white floral arrangements by Studio 7 and just the right amount of gold details. Take a peek below as these two take their place beside one another and watch their heartwarming and fun video by Vasilis Kantarakis Films.

From the Bride…Jason and I were introduced on a hike through a mutual friend. It was a friendly meeting, but nothing more. The following weekend we reconnected at an event where feelings more than friendship began to develop.

I went on a trip to Europe for three weeks, and Jason asked me on a date promptly upon my return. We were inseparable after that. Then, on a seemingly normal Thursday in May, Jason and I were having dinner at a French restaurant in San Francisco before a show.

Jason seemed on edge, but I thought he was excited for the show. Not five minutes into dinner, he says, “I’m sure you can tell that I’m quite nervous. It’s because I want to ask you to be my wife.” He set the ring box down on the table, and I was speechless (which is a rare occurrence). Instead of immediately saying yes, the first words out of my mouth were, “Can I put it on?!”

After some happy tears and laughter, along with actually saying YES!, we headed downstairs to leave. On our way out, our families surprised us. Jason had been planning this for months! More happy tears ensued and we celebrated the evening with our loved ones. It was perfect. Fast forward a few months, and we had the most magical wedding day in Greece.

Greek Modern Elegance With Mega Marble + Copper Accents

Abby always teases me about how I try to cram too many of the amazing detail shots into my image boards…  and she’s absolutely correct. I do. But come on — Style Me Pretty is a wedding inspiration site! I don’t want you to miss out on seeing something incredible for your own day. This wedding, from ak3fotographia with event design by RockPaperScissors is just that kind of wedding – packed with amazing details. Please promise me – you WILL look at this full gallery!

From the Bride… We met three years ago on the 8th October, when I moved to Dubai. Lee had already lived there for three years. It was one of those love at first sight moments where we knew we would end up together. We moved in together after a week of dating. He proposed on the 27th May 2017. I am half Greek (Greek father + Irish mother). We have been going to Greece to visit my family every year. Lee loves Crete, the food the drink the people. We straight away said if we don’t have a wedding on a Greek island it needs to at least be next to the sea. Therefore, when we found Island Art & Taste, we were beyond thrilled.

Planning a wedding from a distance is a big challenge itself, therefore a wedding planner is necessary. We wanted something very unique for our guests as 90% of them would be traveling for the wedding. The personalized favors that also doubled as seating place cards worked perfectly to express our gratitude for everyone who took the time and effort to come to our wedding.

From RockPaperScissors… The ceremony took place under a unique arch where king protea flowers gave a lovely contrast to Greece’s blue skies. Our couple asked for a minimal wedding so we came up with the mix of copper and marble. We started out with the minimal design of invitations by Atelier invitations and then also took it to our tables with the creation of a unique personalized favors made out of marble that also served as a seating card.

From the Groom… We were originally searching for a venue in Greece that would really impress our guests and also provide an amazing backdrop for our wedding. Upon arriving at the venue on our wedding day I was in awe of how beautiful everything looked. I was even more stunned when my beautiful fiancé walked down the steps with her father and became my wife – I remember shaking so much, as she looked so stunning.

More from the Event Designer, RockPaperScissors… We softened our minimalistic table scape by adding the abstract floral napkins wrapped with copper napkin rings, and the unique flower mix with King proteas, orchids, perla roses, eucalyptus, eustoma.

As we all know a bar is truly important for a good party, so our groom chose a whiskey bar and our bride a mobile prosecco bar for everyone to enjoy right after the ceremony.

Decoration of the cake was prepared from our team’s florist and it was another of her wild creations of the day. It was a unique day followed by a great party! What more can a planner ask for?

We do know that the details don’t make or break a wedding – it’s the love, the romance, the beauty and those special stolen moments illicitly captured by your photographers and videographers that will allow you to relive and cherish the moments, forever. Congrats and Happy 1-month Anniversary from SMP to Jenny & Lee — thanks for sharing your beautiful day with us!

You Must See This Wedding’s Showstopping Ceremony Flowers

We can all appreciate a good ceremony arch, and this one wrapped in olive branches and accented with white, fluffy hydrangeas is a total showstopper. Phosart Photography Cinematography captured the stunning arch along with the rest of the impressive blooms created by Chlorofilli for this wedding in the gardens of a Greek castle, and we’re digging the simple combination of natural greenery and white blossoms.

Whimsical

From Phosart Photography CinematographyThis is a wonderful May wedding that came out of the pages of a fantasy book. Samia, who we had the opportunity to meet months before her wedding when searching for the perfect location, and her love, Khalil, had their natural, garden wedding at Petreza Castle. Living in Dubai, they felt that Greece was the perfect destination, and they were right!

Greece is an amazing place to celebrate love, like the love of Samia and Khalil that has been blossoming for 11 years, believe it or not. They met in university and have been together ever since. Khalil was on the football team, and Samia was on the dance team. They met at a bar on campus and kept seeing each other at sports games and events. The result you can see through this lovely photographic collection.

Their wedding style was natural in white and greenery, our favorite combination this season, which highlighted the beauty of the venue. We loved every detail of this event, from the mint ties of the Groom and his party, to the white balloons that were released to the sky, to the lovely decoration by Chlorofilli flowers, to, of course, Samia in her Monique Lhuiller wedding dress!

Guests Traveled from 5 Different Countries for This Wedding Day!

The bride was born in Athens, so for Anna, a destination wedding in Greece felt a bit like coming home. She married her love, Rohit and they celebrated the big day with guests traveling from all across the world. Adrian Wood photographed this special event to remember and there are so many beautiful moments to see in the gallery and film by I Like To Movie It below!

From the Bride… We were always set on Greece, but getting married in Athens felt extra special as I was born there. We fell in love with our venue straight away, so it was the easiest decision.

We both wanted a modern wedding that still showcased our diverse traditions. And that really came together beautifully, with people speaking different languages, coming from completely different backgrounds laughing and dancing to the same kind of music, learning about each other and having fun. On the actual style of the wedding, I wanted clean lines, a lot of white and a bit of blush and gold.

We are quite an international family and had guests flying from U.K., Ukraine, Holland, India, France to name a few. To be honest, it is the simple things that are most memorable. The look on Rohit’s face when he was holding me during our first dance is something I will always cherish.

Wedding Inspiration that will Light a Fire Under Your Wanderlust

Taking a cue from the beauty of ancient Greece, this inspiration designed by Getting Married In Greece along with florals by Red Box Days and planning by La Fete will give you all the reason you need to plan a destination wedding to the Mediterranean. The backdrop of Athens mixed with an elegant tablescape, the prettiest olive branch details and a nature infused color palette is sure to inspire. Pore through the gallery of images by Sotiris Tsakanikas for even more.

From the Photographer… The team of blog “Getting Married In Greece” and I, organized this fine art editorial shoot, inspired by Ancient Greek history. For the setting of the shoot we chose one of the most important archaeological sites of the Acropolis, the surrounding area of the Odeon of Herodus Atticus, which to this day stages plays and operas with excellent acoustics. According to mythology Goddess Athena gifted the first olive tree to the city of Athens on the Acropolis, so the tree’s unique color was combined with the white marble and defined our color palette. The stunning wedding dress was picked for its unadorned, clean line while the bridal style was completed by the flower crown made of olive twigs and white hypericum berries and the lace up sandals. The tabletop was composed of an aged linen tablecloth and soft grey towels while the modern oxide cutlery contrasted the classic china and matching glasses. The custom stationary line was created using calligraphy and olive tree details on a unique hand cut paper. The naked cake was created to complement the shoot concept and was decorated with fresh olive twigs and flowers. The florals of olive and various white summer flowers subtly completed the fine table decoration while the wedding bouquet was also similar in its hues.

Saturday Morning Movie: One Thousand Cranes for Love

There’s a Japanese legend that says that if you fold one thousand origami cranes, the Gods will grant you a wish. And so, with that in mind, Sebastian and Eleni started folding little birds in preparation for their wedding day. And when they said “I do,” they folded the 1,000th one. We’re not sure what that big wish was, but we’re pretty sure it came true – and lucky for us, Cinema of Poetry captured the magic live!

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/182625902 600 338]

From Cinema of Poetry… This is the love story of Sebastian and Eleni. This is a story about folding one thousand origami cranes. A story about holding hands. A story about love and togetherness. This is the wedding of Sebleni. From Freiburg and Kimolos to London. Around the world, and then back to Athens. Gathering people from all around the globe to witness the exchange of vows of love and affection, in the breathtaking scenery of Lake Vouliagmeni, and then party all together till the morning.

An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds one thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by the Gods. Sebastian and Eleni, planned their wedding from London, where they live, and the preparations included a lot of DIY. They folded 999 origami cranes, leaving the last crane for their wedding ceremony. Receiving guests from all over the world, they organized and prepared many travel decorations by themselves for the reception, as well as a photo tree with photos from all their guests. The giveaways and invitations were also made by the couple with help from Thefty (for the logo) and Etsy/notonthehighstreet/amazon/paperchase (for the deco).

The whole ceremony was written by their close friend Patrick, and the couple wrote their own vows. All the songs in the ceremony and the first dance were from bands they have seen together in the past. The table names were of cities/places they have traveled to together as well.

It was a very emotional ceremony, in a unique location, full of energy and character, brought together two families originating, respectively, from Germany and Greece, and hosted friends from at least 11 countries from all over the world.

The wedding video tells the story of this couple, and how from Sebastian and Eleni, how they became “Sebleni”.

This Greek Wedding Is Total Floral Goals

Do you find yourself daydreaming about florals? Well, you certainly will after you peek this pretty little party from Anna Roussos. Because when the couple just so happens to be MaRina (a singer who recently recorded song with James Arthur) and Wojciech Szczęsny (a footballer currently playing in Roma) then you know you’re in for a treat. Blooming with romance (as designed and planned by De Plan V), it’s a celebration that’s chic beyond measure and we’ve got it all waiting for you below and in The Vault!

From De Plan VMixing the luminous class captivated in the natural wonder of a pearl with ethereal elegance influences we created an evening that was eternally timeless ready to host this elegant wedding celebration overlooking the Athenian Riviera.

Colored with the chic palette of champagne crème, pure white pale pink, warm olive green and sparkles of gold, the open space bathed everyone with a feeling of fleeting opulence, where glows drift like pale shadows in every corner evoking bohemian romance and high aesthetic.

Majestic floral installations, fine crystal chandeliers, mirrors, luxurious textures, crystal glassware, chic dinnerware, myriads of candles and luring scenography effects had been the key elements for this sparkling wedding festivity!

The symbolic ceremony was inspired by the vast intimacy of the natural surroundings and the lake, which created a long dramatic aisle to really extend the moment upon bride arrived, under the inspiring sounds of the Italo-Scottish singer and songwriter Niki La Rosa, creating a ceremonious atmosphere.

The focal point of the area was a natural forming handmade arch enriched with abundance of flowers. A marvelous white carpet with the couple’s initials along with majestic amphoras dressed with poetic floral compositions had been added to an alluring scenery.

The guests had been seated in decapé tiffanies chairs placed in rows, while the afternoon light filtering through the trees giving a beautiful diffused light.

On wooden tables, an elegant synthesis of baskets, vintage boxes and crystal glasses, unique colourful flower compositions and herbs filled the ambience with chic fragrances.

Inspired by ethereal lightness a beautiful installation offered the guests wooden fans and craft cones with rice along with chic umbrellas for the females, as an elegant touch to enter the guests in the overall theme making them part of the wedding celebration!

The floral design in both ceremony and reception was composed of peonies, garden roses and hydrangea. It was inspired by gardens at night fall in which pales and luminous blooms seem to glow in the dark.

In the reception welcome area an antique style synthesis, a spectacular display enriched with floral compositions called the guests to indulge into delicate tastes artfully platted. Crystal antique vases had been filled with French macaroons, miniature meringues, cup cakes drizzled with icing, naked cakes and white paper craft cones.

In the dinner area the main theme included mirrored tabletops, plenty of candles in crystal glasses, luxury linen napkins, haute design dinnerware, crystal sous plats, golden cutlery, crystal vases in different sizes and forms with marvelous flower compositions creating an impressing art de la table! Every element was carefully designed to create a dreamy scene bustling with elegance and sparkle. Key decoration element was the spectacular display of fresh flowers, covering the wall behind the wedding table!

For the party time the lounge area was transformed into a royal elegant scenery, where the guests could relax enjoying the sea view along with the atmospherically live concert by James Arthur. On the lounge area mirrored tables, plenty of lanterns and crystal vases filled with candles and flowers had been placed creating an alluring scenery for this talented, inspiring photogenic, fairy tale young couple.

Beachy Elegance Done Oh-So-Right

Rushing off to Greece to say “I do” is one thing, but rushing off to Greece to say “I do” in a seaside glam-filled wedding is another story completely. And Dana and Shadi agree. Which is why they enlisted the help of the talented Rock Paper Scissors Events to host a sophisticated soiree that was one part destination do and one part luxurious wedding.  See it all captured in beautiful images by Elias Kordelakos in THE VAULT right this way.

From Rock Paper Scissors Events… Dana and Shadi’s friends arrived in Greece a few days before the wedding. We arranged a three day program for them by organizing a boat cruise to the nearby islands, a Greek themed pre-wedding dinner with a stunning view of the Acropolis and of course a truly romantic ceremony and dinner in Athens Riviera. Words fail us when we have to say for this couple’s beauty and elegance. But what astonished us even more was their kindness along all the way and particularly the bride’s taste and elegance.

We tried to please her all the way and designed a wedding with a minimal and elegant beach style with peach and blush tones. Guests found their seating in a lovely stand with polaroids taken during their entrance, a jazz band played some laid out music and when everyone heard the “I do’s” white balloons were released to the sky. It was a really emotional party full of friends and family speeches, lots of dancing and a show from three fire dancers to “Set the Night on Fire”.

From the Bride… We got married in Athens, Greece. We wanted a beach destination wedding in a country we love, where all our guests can have easy access to all our guests who flew from US, Canada, Australia, Kuwait, Dubai and Lebanon. The best decision I made was hiring the wedding planner who turned out to be amazing and help us with every step of the way which made our lives easier. The most memorable moment for us was after we finished our vows and all our guests flew white balloons into the sky while the jazz band played the song “ What a Wonderful World”. Also, the first dance was so beautiful with us on the beach and everyone gathered around us.

Add a Touch of Greek Style to Your Wedding Day

When it comes to your wedding day style, it never hurts to add a little Grecian goddess vibe into the mix. Want to see how it’s doneWhite Ribbon Boutique Events and Vasia Photography have you totally covered. Along with Nice Plume and an entire team of vendors, they transformed a sea of neutral shades into Greek style perfection. Pin to your heart’s content inside The Vault!

From White Ribbon Boutique Events CoordinationIt was a dream come true for us to work with the talented Greek – Canadian photographer Vasia, during one of her visits to Greece.

We picked a rustic estate for our fine art editorial shoot, with gray-washed walls, aged olive trees and a beautiful stone built chapel. The inspiration behind this shoot was the creation of a soft and romantic look against the rustic surroundings. For our color palette we mainly used neutrals with some blush accents.

The tabletop was adorned with an aged silk gauze runner and matching napkins, as well as country – style china and contemporary gold flatware to create contrast. To complement the look of the estate, we used several vintage details including brass candelabras, crystal stemware and an antique ring box sourced from flea markets around Europe.

The custom stationary line was created using calligraphy on deckled Italian paper with Grecian – inspired details. For the cake we went for a soft and simple design based on blush accents complemented by hand crafted sugar magnolias. We wanted to achieve an organic look for the florals and thus combined beautiful garden roses with season greenery.

This stunning gown featured an ethereal tulle skirt and French lace bodice while the bridal style was complemented by an exquisite crystal – encrusted headpiece and beautiful blush handcrafted tango shoes.

A Boho Inspiration Session Fit for a Greek God + Goddess

This inspiration session from Anna Roussos Photography and The Event Co. is the perfect marriage (pun intended) of organic, natural beauty and colorful bohemian glamour. Combining the best elements of both styles — from the natural woods and lush greenery to the pops of color and whimsical reception seating — this editorial has it all. Head to The Vault for all the inspiration you need!

From Anna Roussos Photography… This styled shooting took place at my photography workshop in Athens Greece. When choosing the concept of the shooting me and Anna Sourbati (the owner and wedding planner from The Event Co) wanted to create something colourful & cozy with a dash of boho. Beautiful indoor and outdoor areas of Pyrgos Petreza offered us a great choice of locations. We decided to create an indoor ceremony set-up, outdoor lounge zone and outdoor dinner table set-up. Besides that our attendants had a portrait session with the bride&groom and also photographed some wedding essentials, such as wedding invitation set, diamond rings, flowers and cakes. I want to thank all the vendors for being so professional and inspiring! The One Day Workshop was a fantastic experience for me and hopefully for all the attendants, who left with a huge smile on their faces.

Trust Us, This is the Ultimate Destination Wedding in Greece

This is the story of when a handsome Spaniard met an Italian girl in Zurich, and the rest as they say is history. History written with their happy ending taking place in gorgeous Greece, and with Elias Kordelakos behind the lens capturing RockPaperScissorsEvents Greece magic, this is one wedding we’re forever favoriting. Love the look? See it all in The Vault!

From RockPaperScissorsEvents GreeceWhen a Spanish guy, met an Italian girl in Zurich and decided to get married in Greece!

This love story was sealed after Christian’s proposal to Melania in Porto (Portugal), on the top of “Torre dos clerigos” with the magnificent view of the whole town.

In their short visits in Athens they showed us how much they loved Greek food (meze), Greek company (Groom has so many friends from Greece) and of course the lovely location we suggested.

They wanted simple yet elegant details for their wedding and we promised them they would get them. Some details we loved: the canopy setup on the beach, bride’s personal dream that came true (She arrived on a horse, it’s name was Omerta!), the balloons guests set free after “i do”.

Everyone had so much fun and all the guests were really moved by the love of this couple.

Ethereal Grecian Bridal Portrait Inspiration in Athens

SO MUCH BEAUTY. I know, I know I say that a lot, but this time it’s fo’real. Because when it comes to the unparelled conversation-worthy gorgeousness that is Athens, well it is totally justified. And thanks to Vasia Photography, sitting in THE VAULT is one of those galleries that requires an extra dose of pinch-me-please due to all the pretty, because frankly it’s just that dreamy.

From Vasia PhotographyWe wanted to share with you an inspiration shoot that we photographed earlier this year in Greece!

Our approach to this shoot was to show the beauty and simplicity of a traditional Greek village, and to tell a story of a bride on her wedding day and the connection she has to her home.

Pláka is a beautiful old historical neighbourhood in Athens clustered around the slopes of the Acropolis. Incorporating a labyrinthine of beautiful whitewashed streets and neoclassical architecture, it is home to many generations of Athenians and akin to a traditional Greek village, despite its city-center location.

It is custom in Greece for brides to be married in the church of their community, making bridal portraits in their home town very common. Inspired by the beauty and simplicity of the surrounds of Plaka, we imagined a bride on her wedding day walking these streets, connected to her family and land. The striking Rue de Seine gown contrasts against the white walls of the narrow streets, the olive in her bouquet mimicking the detail in her dress.

Other details:
– Her traditional hair piece is purchased from a local Greek market.
– The daphne flower in the bridal bouquet is local to the area

This shoot was in preparation for a fine-art photography workshop we’re holding in Greece, the next one is in May on Santorini! The premise is exploring Aisthētiké – Greek for the philosophy of the nature of art, beauty, and taste; the creation and appreciation of beauty.

Romantic Spring Wedding Inspiration in the Greek Mediterranean

When it comes to Greece, gorgeous is quite the understatement. The proof? This captured editorial from the lens of Yiota at Les Anagnou Photographers. Crafting a romantic frame graced with unequaled natural beauty, this inspiration whispers wonderment. See it all in the gorgeous gallery, here!

From Yiota at Les Anagnou PhotographersWe are true lovers of film photography, so we were thinking for some time with my husband that film would be a perfect match to the blissful setting of the Greek Mediterranean.

We reached out to the talented wedding planner Harilena Giatra from “Live Love” and she was very excited from the very first moment to do a photo shoot that would fulfill our initial thoughts! Her creativity and the whole team working on her side was just perfect and we were very pleased with the whole approach and how attentive everyone was, down to the last detail.
Our goal for this editorial was to create a genuinely romantic frame for a memorable wedding that would whisper softly to the hearts of the guests…More here:

We chose CASA e CAMPO by Dipnosofistirion event venue in Athens, for its mesmerizing location oozing with unequaled natural beauty. Upon arrival in a beautiful garden surrounded by olive trees, tall cypress trees and lush vegetation reminiscent to the Mediterranean basin, the azure blue of the large swimming pool serves as the ultimate antithesis and captivates the eye.
Since we are officially in the heart of springtime, we wanted to gloriously accent the wedding’s décor with white rose bouquets embraced by delicate beige lace that was perfectly executed by Red Box Days.

The wedding invitation created by Atelier-Invitations places guests right in the mood with its romantic calligraphy and its shades of pure white and mustard. The reception tables are set in light and warm earthy colors upon which features the fine white porcelain dinnerware highlighted by a golden-bronze touch. The art-de-la-table is teamed with ultra fine crystal champagne and wine glassware, plus, impressive cutlery with a golden-bronze finish, all provided by White Lilac. The elegant furniture used in the photo shoot were provided by ZaZoo Event Rentals.

The tender blue pure cotton napkins placed within the dishes in the shape of a bow, constitute the colorful detail of the romantic concept. Cheese varieties and grapes within the setting were prepared by Dipnosofistirion catering, constituting the most appropriate gastronomic accompaniment to the selection of exuberant local wines that are to be served. The marvelous wedding-cake was created by Criollo Pâtisserie.

The bride launched a minimalistic wedding dress by Madame Shou Shou with large bow and open back which fell loosely right down to the ankles. Hairstylist and make-up artist, Spiros Samoilis, created a chignon and kept the bride’s make-up simple in a way that manifests the innocence and romanticism a Mediterranean wedding entails.

At the end of this magnificent photo shoot, the whole crew was marvelously dined and wined courtesy of Dipnosofistirion catering. It was such a delight for all of us to finish the project with such delectable tastes!

Boho Chic Winter Wedding Inspiration

We’re only half way through Monday m’dears, and it’s already shaping up to be a gorgeously festive week—and there’s sooo much more pretty to come. But right now? Might I suggest stealing a few moments to admire this utterly lovely gallery from Anna Roussos? With a burgundy and berry pink palette, lace for days and desserts far too beautiful to eat, The Event Company and Love4Wed effortlessly raised the bar with every pin-worthy detail. From Love4WedThere are many days that I seriously have to pinch myself to make sure I am not living a dream! One of the many highlights that come with the territory of being the editor of a wedding blog, is that I get to work side by side with amazingly talented wedding professionals and together create wedding prettiness just like the following boho chic winter wedding inspiration!

Every single detail from this gorgeous shoot was nothing short of perfection and was captured brilliantly by photographer Anna Roussos. The shoot took place in the Nasioutzik Museum, a unique wedding venue just outside of Athens, Greece and wedding planner Anna Sourbati flawlessly curated all the decorative details, capturing the location’s natural rustic beauty in the most beautiful way. In the floral decorations, she incorporated a variety of gorgeous flowers such as blush pink roses, white hyacinths and red alstroemeria. Beautiful burgundy fall leaves were blended with grey and red eucalyptus leaves adding a special touch to the lush floral arrangements. The wooden tables were adorned with dusty rose and grey linens, vintage clear old fashioned glassware, white candles and fresh season fruit that undoubtedly added more color and texture to the table top. The burgundy subtle touches that were used on the lovely wedding stationery gave a more wintery feeling, yet kept the boho chic style. My favorite details… the scrumptious desserts and especially the naked caked that was decorated with blush garden roses!

The boho chic winter wedding inspiration was completed with a romantic and ancient Greece inspired two piece wedding dress designer by Katia Delatola. The dreamy wedding dress was made with French Chantilly lace and flesh colored silk muslin. The burgundy velvet belt complemented the look of the wedding dress and added a slight contrast.

The idea behind this beautiful winter wedding shoot and the collective goal was to create such and an amazingly pretty winter wedding inspiration that it would make brides think twice about planning their wedding during the spring and summer period. The shoot was such an incredible experience and I was so fortunate to have worked with such talented people and create… this little piece of winter wedding heaven!

Athens Wedding from White Ribbon Boutique Events + George Pahountis

I think of all of the places I see here on SMP Destination, Athens has me the most intrigued.  Maybe that’s because it’s not only drop-dead gorgeous (and I mean gorgeous), but also plays host to some of the world’s most amazing weddings.  Weddings that are dripping in beautiful details, traditional touches and a classic sophistication that can’t be beat.  Case in point?  This stunning day styled to perfection by White Ribbon Boutique Events, which is all kinds of crazy beautiful with magical blooms and a breathtaking Sea Soul setting.  See every love-filled moment captured by George Pahountis in the full gallery.

From White Ribbon Boutique EventsEvgenia and George first approached our company about a year before their wedding. They were a sweet couple who lived in Australia and who wanted our help in planning their wedding. The fact that they could not come to Greece until a few days before the wedding… and being so far away… was making them very anxious. So our first priority was to ease them into the planning process and reassure them that we could create the wedding of their dreams.

We spent 12 months making arrangements for their special day, sent countless emails back and forth and started developing a real relationship with them. We spent time really getting to know them– finding out about their personalities, likes and dislikes, the history of their relationship, their everyday life, family ties and shared experiences. We took all that into account when creating a unique concept for them. We settled on a romantic-rustic concept to which we also incorporated various vintage items that were owned by their families. This gave the whole event a very personal touch.

After months of planning every single detail with Evgenia and George from afar, we finally met in Athens a few days before the wedding. We instantly  felt a bond of friendship and spent many days together, meeting their wonderful and loving parents. We were honored to be a part of the joyful celebration of their wedding.

The day of the wedding, the bride arrived at the church looking radiant as she emerged from an antique 1950’s cream convertible Mercedes. The groom, always with a smile on his face, looked so very sharp in his black tuxedo suit. As the ceremony ended, the two families and friends joined outside the church and showered the couple with rice, petals, love and congratulations.

The wedding reception was absolutely stunning– vintage details, rustic furniture, antique roses, one-of a kind crystal accents, silver candelabras, beautiful linens and hundreds of glowing candles. The setting looked like it was part of a glamorous film noir and so did the bride and groom.

Guests experienced some unforgettable moments that evening, with the emotional first dance of the couple, the heartfelt speech of the groom, the surprise birthday cake in honor of the groom’s father and the glittering fireworks lighting up the evening sky.

We want to thank Evgenia and George for their kind words, their warm embrace and for entrusting us with their dream. We wish them a life full of happiness, love and laughter!
