A timeless treasure, an eternal aesthetic, an essence of pure beauty to stand the test of time. Bringing forth an ageless artistic aura to the full sensual embrace of the senses; conjuring the everlasting artistic appeal to the essential elements of simplicity, elegance, and charm. This perfectly selected ensemble; of soft tones, an ever-beautifying assembly of styles and an atmosphere delicately crafted to captivate and uplift the spirit, had been the principal inspiration for our latest style shoot, “Timeless Romance”.

To truly capture this ‘timeless’ appeal in its most essential form, we had chosen the silence of a solemn villa; Kitchener-Waterloo’s very own Hacienda Sarria, a classical Spanish hacienda that echoes age-old architectural motifs from ancient Rome to the modern villa.

Though to truly piece together something that’s genuinely “timeless”, our stylists had meticulously brought together an array of stylistic elements that formed the core of what made our style shoot’s set magical; and what would irrevocably create a timeless and romantic wedding setting. A selection of beautifully flowing, soft and sensual wedding gowns care of Sash and Bustle, chosen in their simplicity of design to compliment the grand thematic colour palette of the style shoot; of light tones of carnation pink, the softest beige and the most delicate hues of golden yellow and brilliant green in consort with perfectly placed foliage and floral finishing strewn about to give the setting an everlastingly elegant quality.

As for the numerous accessories and ornaments, our stylists had chosen a natural look for the dining table and chairs; incorporating a rustic wooden tabletop complimented by shimmering gold flatware and daintily placed tableware set amidst a stunning microcosm of floral arrangements, candlelight and accessories that serve to set a light-hearted and romantic mood to the wedding day ensemble. And from the gorgeously placed candlelight adornments, a beautiful wedding cake to match the overarching aesthetic of the style shoot, and plentiful accompanying greenery and floral furnishings lovingly arranged in perfect placements, our “Timeless Romance” style shoot is more than enough to truly stand the test of time.

The Scoop On Trunk Shows

The phrase “trunk show” can be tossed around quite a bit in the world of wedding dresses, but if you’re just starting out on your gown search, let’s think of it as a magic word. Trunk shows allow you to view an entire collection by one designer you may not otherwise have the chance to see. And bonus – be granted a pretty solid discount along with it! Read on for the ins and outs of trunk shows and how to reap their many benefits.

Do Your Homework

You’ve gotten engaged – check that off the list. You may have already secured a venue and maybe even gotten a photographer. Wherever you’re at in your planning, it’s never too early to start hunting down the perfect dress. Start from the comfort of your own phone! Pinterest and Instagram are great tools to find endless styles, organize dresses you like and trace them back to their original designer.

Something to watch out for: images on Pinterest can often be mislabeled after so much re-pinning, so cross-reference them on the designer’s website. Once you’ve found a few styles you love from a handful of designers, head over to Instagram and give their account a follow to get the full feel for their vibe and aesthetic. It could turn out that you thought you liked boho, but the rest of their collection is a little too non-traditional, so maybe vintage-inspired is more your speed.

Scout the Shows

Start by searching online for bridal boutiques that are near you or near where you’ll be shopping. Check if they carry the designers you want and if they have any upcoming trunk shows. Or, you can go straight to the source. Most designers have a list of their stockists and retailers on their website according to location and even post their trunk show schedule. While on their site, do a bit of research on where the brand is based, the price-point, and gown lead-time.

Once you find some to attend, make a booking through the stockists themselves. Keep an eye on Instagram accounts for both parties; trunk shows in the coming weeks will be posted!

Shop + Save

Now that you’ve made it to the trunk show, you’re ready to reap the benefits. This is your chance to view a full collection (and possibly additional new styles) that the boutique may not carry year-round. This may not sound as thrilling if you’re based in a major metropolis and the designer’s showroom is right down the street, but if you live in smaller town or another country, you have the opportunity to see collections from brands all over the world.

Another great benefit: because you have a trunk show appointment, if you purchase your gown that day, you’ll get a discount! These are typically between 10-15% but vary per designer. Think about it – those savings can go right back into the wedding budget.

Added Perks

A major pro of trunk shows is that most, if not all, are attended by a brand representative. Occasionally, the designer themselves may be present to work with brides and this is a simply an unbeatable opportunity to find your dress with help from the people who actually created the gowns. Questions such as the availability of extra fabric or customizations, if rush fees apply, and styling tips can be answered directly from the source!

Trunk shows are getting more and more popular with designers and stockists alike. They’re such a win for everyone! Designers get to spread their brand and meet more customers, and brides to get a chance to see a full collection they otherwise wouldn’t have. Whether you’re a bride on a budget scoping out those discounts, or a hopeless romantic with your heart set a single designer since forever, trunk shows are an amazing way to make dress shopping work for you!

Historic Savannah Wedding With a Perfect Touch of Pink

Pink is kind of our unofficial team color here at Style Me Pretty, so there’s no denying this beauty by Amy Arrington instantly caught our eye. Set in historic Savannah at The Olde Pink House, it’s a true wedding work of art thanks to the thoughtful stylings of Amy Osaba Design. Join us for the entire event sitting pretty in the gallery.

From the Bride… When we first started planning the wedding, I knew two things: I wanted to get married in the South and I wanted it to be a small, intimate wedding with family and close friends. John and I had met, fallen in love, and gotten engaged in the South and it seemed only fitting to continue our love story surrounded by the romantic beauty and history of the South.

As John was from Georgia originally, Savannah seemed like the perfect place and I was utterly enchanted with it as soon as stepped foot under the canopies of Spanish moss and strolled through the city squares. John was already partial to Savannah as he had spent a good portion of his college years down there and we knew our guest would be able to enjoy themselves which was important to us since so many of them were traveling from around the country.

I had visions of rose gold calligraphy to set the tone, mouthwatering food under romantic candlelight, lush floral arrangements in shades of rose, peach, and ivory with pops of burgundy, and small meaningful touches that would be noticed by those who knew us the best…but most of all, I envisioned a night filled with love, laughter, and memories.

The venues/vendors we choose really helped bring that vision to life and we never would have found them without my wonderful sister who is my best friend and knows me so well. She was absolutely essential in picking out the venues/vendors and it would have never gone so smoothly without her constantly there supporting me. And my parents! They were absolutely amazing during the whole process.

The venues we choose were the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for the ceremony and the Olde Pink House for the reception. The Olde Pink House is a gorgeous Georgian mansion that was named for the beautiful shade of “rose” colored stucco on the exterior and is now one of our favorite restaurants. As soon as I tasted the food and saw the intricate gold and silver murals of the James Habersham Grand Ballroom, I knew I wanted to have my reception there. I wouldn’t have to worry about any rentals or decorations because it was perfect just as it was and the food was fantastic. Even more so, Sara Jackson and the staff at the Olde Pink House were the epitome of Southern hospitality and grace.

After the venues were decided, I was able to move on to one of my favorite parts of the planning process: the flowers! I was so lucky that my sister found Amy Osaba of Amy Osaba Design. I immediately fell in love with her organic and breathtaking tablescapes and bouquets. Her floral arrangements just had such a way of evoking emotion and a sense of nature at its best – both balanced yet playful and absolutely romantic in every sense. She brought all of this to my wedding and her team was quite simply essential to the success of that day.

About two months prior to the wedding, I realized I would need some help on the day of the wedding coordinating everything. Amy and her team stepped right in and ensured in went off without a hitch. From running everyone through the rehearsal to helping the men tie their bow ties, they were everywhere they needed to be and provided a huge amount of relief to us just knowing they were there. From there, what really completed the whole experience were the personal touches we added throughout the day:

Joy Fairclough of Studio French Blue provided the calligraphy for the invitations and the wedding including a handwritten copy of “My Very Dear Wife” – the Last Letter of Major Sullivan Ballou which I gave to John on the morning of our wedding as it was his favorite. Km Cake Design made the most delicious cakes in a variety of flavors including pineapple upside down cake which was my Father’s favorite and the cake he always made me when I was growing up.

BP Calligraphy providing our favor boxes which had the words from E.E Cummings “I carry your heart with me” written in gold calligraphy across the surface which was the first poem that John ever read to me.

Waxflower Vintage made the most beautiful wax flower crown from a couple of antique orange blossom crowns I had found. My mother had worn real orange blossoms in her hair on her wedding and I wanted to carry that on as a tradition in my wedding.

There were many more of these details through the day that made it so special and I was so grateful to Amy and Brandon of Amy Arrington Photography who captured every moment. Of course there were the gorgeous portraits, the thoughtful shots of all the beautiful small details and decorations, but the really magical part were the candid shots of shared laughter, looks of love, and those special private moments.

Two Med Students Tied the Knot in Perfect Style

Along their journey to a career in medicine, Sam and Steven found love as two self professed science nerds. And you better believe they planned a wedding day for the books set right at the bride’s family home. Amazing vendors like A Good AffairLittle HillMomental Designs24 Carrots and Found Rentals came on for the ride, and the result is an al fresco celebration done so right.

Sam & Steven are both medical students and self-confessed “nerds” (her words – they loved to tease each other on their science-based inside jokes), when they were early into their relationship, Steven had given Sam a necklace with “S=S”. The “=” symbol (with one more dash on the bottom, three lines) signifies a triple covalent bond. In chemistry, this bond is stronger than most and nearly unbreakable, which he thought was the perfect symbol for their relationship.

The brought the “S=S” theme into their wedding through personalized favors – guests were given amber bottles with their hand-painted symbol and wedding date, filled with olive oil, also a major symbol of the property that possesses 100-year old olive groves. Family members and guests alike absolutely adored the personal favor and Sam & Steven were thrilled to be able to bring this scientific (yet totally romantic) detail into their special day.

Another detail that we think would make quite an impact was the complete landscaping and design of the private estate’s property, specifically with Natalie’s design in mind for the purpose of having the wedding on the property. The bride’s wish was to be married at her parent’s estate in the hills of Claremont – a 1920s Spanish-style home that had held so many wonderful memories and was destined to become the ultimate romantic setting.

The Classic Summer Wedding of Your Dreams

I call the Twin Cities home and can personally attest to the beauty of the Hamline Church in St. Paul. It perfectly embodies the classic, cathedral-style ceremony the bride was aiming for, and the floral-filled reception that followed was like icing on the cake. Thanks to Jeff Loves Jessica + Snowshoe Productions for bringing this affair to life on our pages.

From Jeff Loves Jessica… Cassie & Pete met 8 years ago while playing competitive soccer on the women’s and men’s teams, respectively, at Carleton College. Although Pete was one year ahead of Cassie and the two didn’t begin dating right away, after a year of their paths crossing through soccer and their social sphere, the couple hit it off and the rest is history!

Their wedding day was the perfect bright sunny day with the sort of warm evening glow that only late summer can create. Cassie wanted an old, classic cathedral-like church for their ceremony and found Hamline Church in St. Paul to be a great fit. The ceremony featured a live string quartet and wreaths made with bay leaves to decorate the ends of pews. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Sommerset Country Club in Mendota Heights, MN beneath a clear top tent.

Amazing floral blooms cascaded from the ceiling of the tent, hung with clear thread to create an ethereal and very romantic setting. Sprigs of greens and custom made menu cards were carefully folded into napkins at each place setting. After dinner, the couple cut a show-stopping 3-tiered cake created by Cocoa & Fig, and brought the party back inside the country club for dancing with a live band and a photo booth.

Light Blue + Radiant Red Might Just Be Our New Favorite Color Combo

A lovely light blue and a rich, radiant red. The perfect pair? Surprisingly, yes, yes, yes – look no further than this romantic, French-inspired wedding captured by Koman Photography! One glance through this gallery and you’ll be a red and blue believer in an instant. But let’s be real, one look isn’t going to do it; you’ll be settled in with this gallery for the rest of today – we have Jenny Yoo dresses, florals by Indigo and Plum and much, much more – enjoy!

Colors

From the Bride… Nathan and I went to high school together in Colorado, but didn’t really know each other. It wasn’t until our late 20’s that we started dating. We started dating when he was teaching English in South Korea while I was here in Los Angeles. Our relationship involved lots of traveling in the beginning.

We both love to travel. With that in mind, I wanted to take our closest friends and family to one of my favorite places on the planet, France, when we got married. I wanted to take them there, but without the long trek. With the breathtaking view of the ocean and vineyard at Catalina View Gardens, we knew it was the place!

Guests would be welcomed with refreshments and breathtaking views before the ceremony. After the ceremony, guests would then find their vintage key escort card that would guide them to their table number written in French.

During cocktail hour guests enjoyed creating a savory crepe at the crepe station. Dinner tables were long with red, blush, and cream colored flowers complemented by candles. A family style dinner was served followed by a traditional French Croquembouche wedding cake filled with Grand Marnier that stood on top of a traditional chocolate cake.

Guests danced the night away under bistro lights. Finally, they bid us ‘bon voyage’ as we drove away in a dreamy 1950’s Bentley!

Luxe Florida Wedding With a Cool, Lounge Vibe

There’s so much for love about this Floria affair photographed by Jacqui Cole, but my favorite element is all about the party atmosphere. When it came time for the reception, they opted for an ultra cool lounge vibe with awesome seating setups for guests to casually mix and mingle. Not to mention the yummy food stations! Tracie Domino Events planned this chic, fuss-free celebration and we can’t get enough.

From the Bride… Mike and I met through mutual friends after I decided to crash the group’s Sunday night tradition of dinner followed by the TV show Game of Thrones. I was planning on leaving after dinner but decided to stay and learn more about the show and the handsome guy in the room. Mike and I talked for a little bit that night but had an opportunity to get to know each other better when he arranged a group outing to the movies later that week. We were inseparable from that night on.

Mike insisted on exchanging Christmas gifts early. His family had already agreed to have a practical Christmas, so I somewhat jokingly asked for new underwear to keep with the theme. On the night of the proposal, I opened a Victoria’s Secret box full of different types of underwear. You can imagine my confusion to find a pair of my underwear along with a pair of Mike’s boxers in the mix, but it all made sense once I read the checklist at the bottom of the box – something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. Mike dropped to one knee and proposed in our living room. I immediately said yes!

Mike has two extraordinary children from his first marriage, Drew and Gabby. For our wedding, it was important to include them in our festivities. We envisioned a small, intimate wedding with our family and dearest friends in attendance followed by a big party with the rest of our guests. In lieu of a bridal party, we asked Mike’s sister, JoAnna, and my brother, John, to stand by our sides. Drew and Gabby served as our ring bearer and flower girl. We realized very quickly that due to our busy personal and professional lives we really needed the help of a wedding planner. Immediately after meeting with Tracie Domino with Tracie Domino Events, we felt exceedingly confident that she would be able to make our wedding everything we hoped for and more. She introduced us to some of the most talented vendors in the business who would help us bring our vision to life.

Within a few weeks of our initial meeting we had a venue, band, photographer and décor company booked. She made the process incredibly easy for us and alleviated much of the stress that accompanies planning an event of this size. January in Tampa is all about Pirates, so, when we chose our wedding date a couple of weeks before the Gasparilla parade and events, we knew we had to incorporate some Tampa-inspired elements into our event design and décor.

Our graphic designer was inspired by a vintage cigar box label for our stationary suite. We had custom throw beads made as party favors for our guests. We really gravitated toward bold colors and incorporated navy and marsala into our color palette. Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club was the perfect backdrop for our wedding, so we decided to have our ceremony on the golf course and our cocktail hour and reception in the clubhouse. MMD Events completely transformed the ballroom by creating a warm and inviting lounge atmosphere. I loved that our guests could take a break from dancing by relaxing on the comfortable furniture surrounding the dance floor. The layout really encouraged our guests to mix and mingle. We set up food stations with “his” and “her” favorites. Our guests enjoyed comparing menus served at each station.

At the end of the night, we surprised our guests with sliders and French fries. Knowing our friends and family, a stocked bar and great band were important for the celebration we wanted to share with our guests. Our band, The Headliners, kept our guests (young and old) on the dance floor the entire night. By the end of the reception, the crowd migrated toward the stage for what felt like a private concert. They were fantastic! One of our fondest memories of our wedding was our personal and heartfelt ceremony.

Prior to our wedding, Mike and I were asked by our officiant to answer some questions about our relationship, which he used to tell our “love story”. The heartfelt story shared by our officiant brought the entire crowd to tears and we loved sharing our story with those people who were instrumental in the growth and nurturing of our relationship.

We are so happy we decided on a first look! Jacqui Cole shared our enthusiasm with our decision because she knew the light would be perfect for our wedding portraits. It also gave us some time to enjoy a private moment together in the middle of a busy day. We feel like her amazing photos vindicate our decision to do a first look. We still find ourselves admiring Jacqui’s beautiful photographs. Her vision and talent perfectly captured the joy and love that we felt surrounding and embracing us that day.

The Ultimate Rustic Chic Homestead Wedding

For Tara and Larry, their wedding wishes came down to a day full of love and family. They decided on a celebration in Montana as a nod to their long line of farming and ranching families, plus a shared love for the great outdoors. Greenwood Events designed unique florals for the occasion and Orange Photographie captured in true fine art fashion. More to see this way in the gallery.

From the Bride… Larry and I currently live in San Francisco, but we both wanted a rustic wedding with a barn that would be close for both of our large families to attend. Larry always says that Montana is “God’s Country” and we found the perfect location at Weatherwood Homestead. Larry is from a long line of farming and ranching families from Montana and I am from North Dakota. Our wedding was the perfect combination of our heritages and love for the outdoors. Montana was a dream location of my husband’s and it all fell together beautifully.

My inspiration was to create a day full of love and family, which reflected the elements of our relationship and our heritages. We wanted to create a rustic wedding with soft blushing colors and local elements. I sought a whimsical, flowing and soft feel to all the flowers, clothing and decorations. The bay leafs were an important symbol for us, because on our first date, which involved a run on Mount Tamalpais near San Francisco. While running, we were talking about the medicinal power of plants. Just then Larry pulled a bay leaf from a tree and gave it to me, asking if I knew what it was. To this day, every time Larry goes for a run or we are on a hike together, he will pick a bay leaf for me.

Our wedding was truly the most perfect day of our lives thus far. We were married on the blue moon and we were blessed with the most beautiful 5 days. While the day of our wedding was the most perfect day, leading up the wedding we arranged fly fishing, a boat ride on Lake McDonald, a Rodeo at the Blue Moon Rodeo, horseback riding, a hike, a ride up the gondola at the big mountain to see the blue moon and receive a blessing at sunset. All of these events brought our guest from around the world so close that by the day of our wedding it felt like our already large families (I am one of 8 children and Larry one of 4 children).

Of course like every bride, I thought my wedding was the most beautiful ever. Yet, more importantly, I was so happy because all the planning was so easy that it almost seemed as if the heavens opened up and gave us ease at every corner and more importantly gave us a perfect few days of sunshine and love. The ease in how it all the details came together so perfectly only reaffirmed to us that our marriage was meant to be. We felt overwhelmingly loved with our big families and wonderful friends there to support us.

We’ll take any excuse to celebrate spring, but when it’s in the form of a bridal shoot featuring gowns from Lace & Bustle Bridal, we consider that the best excuse of all. Tulipina worked her floral magic while Erich McVey snapped behind the camera, and the result is some serious pretty to brighten up your Thursday.

From Lace & Bustle Bridal… When a playful bride meets the structure of old world charm and a love for all things whimsical…you get this creation. Each look carries its own personality and the bride transforms, showcasing a new emotion. Beauty comes in all forms and the bride is the one that makes the gown her own, surrounded always by romance.

This shoot was taken in The Green Room in San Francisco. When you surround yourself with beauty, more beauty comes of it and this shoot is an example of that. Gowns with the most unique lace and silks from Lace & Bustle, dancing blooms from Tulipina, the talent behind the lens of Erich McVey, the touch of the wand by Rebecca Taff, and the captivating eyes of our model, Sierra Lippert.

From the Photographer… Jessica and Dan are getting married in TN this summer but since they live in CO they wanted to do their engagement session in a place they love the most, Vale, CO. Of course they didn’t have any trouble convincing me to fly up there, they just teased me with some images and that plane ticket was bought! We had the most amazing day for their session. The weather was perfect, their styling was on point and the view was amazing! I seriously just want to fly to CO for all my engagement sessions! Oh and I can’t leave without commenting on their four-legged furry child, isn’t he the best? I love when my couples include their pets!

An Unexpected Color Palette Makes for the Most Stunning Summer Affair

One of my favorite details entwined in most fall weddings is the gorgeous, rich color palettes so often used. But who says you have to wait until the leaves change to embrace the jewel tones of autumn? This summer celebration is infused with the prettiest layers of burgundy and it makes for a wildly good looking day. With florals + planning by Kaitlin Parisho Designs and so many gorgeous images by Emily Jane Photography, get lost in a gem that blends the look and feel of two seasons into one undeniably stunning day.

From the Photographer… Chris and Elise’s Wedding took place on a calm summer day. Elise wanted to shy away from the usual blush wedding and opt for a deeper hue as we were approaching fall. The contrast between the burgundy and grey was stunning on their sunny day, the two were nothing but smiles all day for each other. Kaitlin outdid herself with so man amazing florals throughout the day, even making a little crown for the cutest flower girl!

DIY Faux Calligraphy Wedding Thank You Envelopes

So you’ve done it. They asked and you said yes (smiling wildly and trying not to ugly-cry). The wedding day comes and goes beautifully, and you thank your guests with party favors. You can call it a day at that. However, surprising them with snail mail sharing what they mean to you can be the perfect happily ever after. And good news for you – it’s easy to address the envelopes using… faux calligraphy!

Calligraphy with a pen and nib is stunning but time-consuming to do en masse. Faux calligraphy can be picked up with a few easy steps, is simpler to do, and can be done with materials you have lying around your house! Put on your favorite movie, brew your favorite drink and get started!

Materials

  • Pencil
  • Micron Pen/Fine Point Sharpie
  • Graph Paper
  • Envelope & Card

Instructions

Sketch out the style and layout you want for the envelope. This piece works great as a reference point when you’re working on your, say, hundredth thank you note!

Tip: When writing the name, leave a wider space in between each letter than you normally would. This allows you to add in the thicker strokes later and prevents it from looking cramped.

Thicken your strokes to mimic that calligraphy gorgeousness! The strokes where your hand physically moves upwards should be more delicate than the heavier strokes where your hand moves down the page to write a letter.

Tip: The thickness of the stroke is up to you, but make the thickness consistent across the board, with the ends connecting smoothly into one another for a professional look!

Add in the extra strokes with your pencil and fill it in when you’re satisfied!

Commit to it with pen! Trace what you created on the graph paper so that no matter what you do, you won’t ruin your reference piece. Fill out the rest of the address to see how to format the lettering.

Make it rain – with gorgeous envelopes, of course! Keep the previous tips in mind and address the envelopes with love and care.

And that’s it! Take a few minutes each day and write as many thank-you cards as you can during that time. Personalize the envelopes and notes to thank friends and family not only for their presents, but more for their presence in your life. This sounds daunting, especially if you had many guests, but just take it one day at a time, a few at a time, and send out happy mail beautifully done with your faux calligraphy! They’ll treasure it and the time you took to remember them and your relationship.

From Mango Studios… When I first met Kyle and Brandon, I knew they would throw a chic, downtown wedding in Toronto. Both are very stylish and have great taste in fashion, music and art. I really enjoyed spending the entire day with them talking about their favourite food, places they love to visit in Toronto and travel. As a wedding photographer, it’s important to me to get to know my couple’s and try to capture their personalities in photos. Wedding photographs are the only long-lasting, tangible memories of the day, so I make it my number one priority to capture the essence, true feelings and real, beautiful personalities of the people I work with. It’s also important to me that I capture the wedding day as it unfolds, directing the moments rather than fabricating them. That is why I loved how Kyle and Brandon chose to do their first look. They stood on both sides of the hotel room wall, Kyle nervously fixing his suit and Brandon waiting for my signal to enter the room. Once settled, Brandon pushed the door and stepped into the bedroom where Kyle was standing, crying happily to see his fiancé. It was a very special, beautiful moment. We stayed on either side of the wall, keeping our distance not to disturb the moment’s intimacy. Keeping that distance, yet having a great vantage point enabled us to capture the entire scene in its complexity and beauty.

The glamorous restaurant, The Chase, was a perfect backdrop for their celebration. The ever talented Cynthia Martyn worked her magic complementing the venue’s rustic elements and transforming the location into an elegant, tasteful space that was as charming and classy as the couple. The best part of the day? Kyle and Brandon’s good friend singing a song for them during reception. It was a very emotional, happy day and I’m so grateful to be a part of such a beautiful celebration. Kyle and Brandon, thank you so much for making me feel like a part of your family and I wish you long years of happy marriage!

A Long Sleeved Lace Gown That’s Giving Us All the Feels

It’s official: I’ve found my dream dress. If I was to redo my own special day, I think I might go this romantic gown route – it’s pure perfection (that lace!). But even better, the whole intimate affair captured by Hello Love Photography. With Nantucket as the backdrop, it’s an absolute feast for the eyes – and lucky for you, we’ve gathered all the pretty pics together in our Vaultenjoy!

From Hello Love PhotographyShelly and Colin got married in (arguably) one of the most picturesque and quintessential New England locations I can think of – the Wauwinet resort on the north easternmost tip of Nantucket. Their family and friends filled every room of the resort and made their wedding an intimate, personal, and beautiful one. Beautiful long tables lit by candles, lots of greenery, and one of my favorite dresses to date (the lace sleeves!) made this one for the books. And they certainly didn’t let a little rain stop them. :)

This Wedding Perfectly Embodies Timeless Romance

Claire and Christopher got married in the bustling city of Hong Kong, so their wish for an ultra romantic, rustic chic wedding was quite a tall order. Luckily they found just the right venue and thoughtfully designed every detail – from fashion to flowers and beyond – to reflect that vision. Of course, their amazing vendor crew rose to the occasion and Hilary Chan + AP Studio captured every moment.

From the bride, Claire… I love rustic country style which is difficult to find in a modern city like Hong Kong. So Hong Kong Country club is the best location for us with that stunning panoramic view of the South Ocean!

I felt the wedding is more of a romantic affair, so I chose a lace mermaid wedding dress from Monique L’huillier. The beautiful floral details and florets on the dress itself made a perfect match to the floral aisle entrance at Hong Kong Country Club. For the reception dress, I wanted something reflective of my own energetic personality so I chose a dress that was a light fabric and allowed me to run around and socialize with our guests.

I wanted my bridesmaids to have a very chic & feminine look on the day. Personally, I like soft colors like blush and nude, but to create that chic look I asked my tailor to customize the structures on the bridesmaid dresses and include structural fabrics as opposed to traditional bridesmaid dresses.

For the outdoor ceremony, I asked my florist to create sleek floral crowns alongside beautiful bridesmaids bouquets of blush and ivory to add that little floral detail when they all walked down the aisle with me. It was such a soft & romantic moment!

Happily Ever After for a Couple Who Met When They Were One

This story starts long ago when the paths of two 1 year olds crossed in a fated Gymboree class. Fast forward to today and those toddlers are now husband and wife. If that isn’t the cutest story ever, then I don’t know what is. See how these two said I Do in a chic New York City wedding held at the gorgeous Bowery Hotel with planning by Loli Events, florals by Peartree and all captured by one of our faves, Trent Bailey. See the full affair right here.

Born in the same hospital three weeks apart, Mira and Matt met for the first time at the age of one year old in a Gymboree class. They attended elementary and middle school together in lower Manhattan, but lost touch in high school. They were reunited when they both attended college at Stanford University, and quickly became close friends. Matt and Mira did not actually begin to date until nine years later, however, when they shared their first kiss outside their elementary school.

Having both grown up in downtown Manhattan, we loved the idea of finding a venue in the same neighborhood. The event space at the Bowery hotel was perfect for a December wedding, with lots of wood, exposed brick, and a working fireplace.

Mira’s dress was not technically a “wedding” dress, but rather a while evening gown by Stella McCartney. The dress was stark white silk crepe, with long sleeves, structured shoulders, an open back, and a train. Mira’s every day style is crisp and not overly-feminine, and she knew her wedding dress would not involve tulle, lace, or much volume. She hoped to find a structured white gown and fell in love with the Stella McCartney gown when she caught sight of it online. It was the first dress she tried on and she bought it the same day.

Our décor was inspired by winter and the holidays. The Bowery Hotel is already a warm and inviting space with lots of reds and dark woods, so we chose to emphasize whites and greens with touches of grey and silver. Olive branches, cool white flowers, mercury class, mirrored signs, and lots of candlelight helped to pull our vision together.
