How have I not known about this amazing site before!? The Fairmount in Banff, Canada is straight out of a fairytale and just jumped to first place on my wanderlust dream list! To have your wedding here blows my mind and this film by Hoo Films proves that it’s just as jaw-dropping as I thought. From the stunning views to the sweetest couple ever, this film has it all – sit back, relax and get ready to dream of this castle in the sky!

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/231484260 600 338]

From Hoo Films… Consider my heart stolen… by a Canadian and a mid-west girl. Sari and Alex are the perfect pair and will slowly reel you in with their wit, their kindness, and their unique presence. These two brought everyone together in Banff, Canada, the most gorgeous area. The mountain air, the nice people, and the overall beauty is a freshness that is unmatched. The day started at the Fairmont, or better known as a castle, and from there the excitement never stopped. The reception tent was beautifully created by Viva Bella Events , and WOW! Just take a look at this creation! The ceremony site, as clean and simple as it was, easily became one of my all-time favorite looks. But, beyond all that scenery and decor, Sari and Alex simply stole the show. And now you can experience it all for yourself… enjoy this Destination Wedding Film from Canada, eh!

Bouquet Breakdown: Finding Your Floral Style

From Emily March Photography… Whether you are the offbeat, boho gal or the lady with refined and elegant taste, each Bride is different, and finding a way to introduce your taste and style to your wedding day can often be difficult – especially when it comes to flowers. We all know about peonies and roses, but few Brides know how to achieve the perfect bouquet that shows off their personality.

Below, Keegan of Petal Atelier provides a bouquet breakdown for five different bridal styles: muted, watercolor, bold, romantic, and minimalist. Each bouquet includes unusual elements – flowers most people have never even heard of – so you can see how texture and color add personality to the arrangements. Read on to learn more about what flowers and foliage appeal to you and Keegan’s inspiration behind each of her gorgeous designs.

Muted

My background is in art and art history, and I like to bring these principles into my design work. For this bouquet, I wanted to play with the idea of tinting and shading from color theory, which is to change a color by adding white or black respectively. I chose blush, which is an enduring wedding favorite, as my starting point and moved out from there. There are very few true whites and no true blacks when working with flowers, but the feeling is the same with the near whites of the clematis and the deep inky tones of the smoke bush. We finished it with lots of flowing, raw silk ribbon from Froufrou Chic to continue the delicacy and movement of the exquisite clematis.

Bouquet Breakdown

  • Clematis
  • Café au lait dahlias
  • Amnesia roses
  • Koko Loco roses
  • Blush garden roses
  • Heirloom carnations
  • Lophmyrtus
  • Christmas bush
  • Smoke bush

Watercolor

Watercolor is such a delicate medium and because of this really evokes the soft, heavily petaled blooms of spring. I wanted to include the current favorites like peonies, ranunculus, and David Austin garden roses with less common blooms such as sweet pea, locally grown heirloom spray garden roses, and hyacinths. I also wanted to showcase a variety of foliage without being too branchy. I chose the geranium for its velvety texture and beautiful lacy-edged leaf shape. It plays off the more familiar dusty miller, which is also velvety but has a soft blue-grey look. The acacia bridges the two with longer branches, but its soft fringy leafs soften the line while still create more length and shape. Though I love to work with muddy or sour color palettes, I wanted this to be pure tones. I used to do wet-on-wet watercolor painting, and my teacher described the technique as layering light – I sought to recreate that effect here. I love the way the different shades talk to each other both within the individual blooms and one to the next.

Bouquet Breakdown

  • Peonies
  • Garden roses
  • Heirloom spray garden roses
  • Sweet peas
  • Hyacinths
  • Ranunculus
  • Blue viburnum berries
  • Dusty miller
  • Acacia
  • Geranium greens

Bold

You may surprise yourself when it comes to flowers, especially with color. For instance, I am someone that pretty much only wears black, white, and grey. But when it comes to flowers, the more I work with them, the more I appreciate unexpected color combinations. I find the key to doing so successfully often hangs on finding an element that includes disparate tones to create a bridge between them. The tree of heaven foliage is lime with just a hint of pink in its leaves, so the bright reds and oranges look unexpected without being jarring. Similarly the flame eye garden roses mix the red and orange, but also the soft petaled texture surrounding the prickly-looking center bridges the dryer texture of the grass and straw flower. This allowed me to be bold with texture as well as color. I wanted it to feel a little more modern than wild, so I choose a tighter shape and included some more linear elements – like the gloriosa lily.

Bouquet Breakdown

  • Red piano roses
  • Flame eye garden roses
  • Papyrus grass
  • Gloriosa lilies
  • Crocosmia
  • Straw flowers
  • Oak leaves
  • Smoke bush
  • Pineapple lilies
  • Tree of heaven
  • Italian ruscus

Romantic

In playing with idea of romance, I wanted to explore all the different meanings of that word. I drew my inspiration from European tradition of courtly romance, epitomized in the Arthurian legend and fairytales. I wanted something a little old fashioned with foresty touches, so I added the raspberry and forget me not. The rich jewel tones with softer hues, specifically the peach and red, add an ooh la la quality, evoking a more passionate, active femininity. I also wanted to pay tribute the grandeur of nature and 18th century romanticism, so I created a really loose, expressive shape that emphasized the natural line of the branches.

Bouquet Breakdown

  • Ranunculus
  • David Austin Juliet garden roses
  • Red piano roses
  • Hellebores
  • Scabiosa
  • Delphinium
  • Forget me not
  • Begonias
  • Olives
  • Plumosas
  • Blackberry vines
  • Italian ruscus
  • Smoke bush

Minimalist

I love all the greens we saw recently inspired by the Pantone color of the year, and greenery’s popularity is going to continue into the real weddings of 2018. Since many Brides have been dreaming about their wedding flowers for years, I wanted to meet in the middle between the greenery trend and a more classic use of green and white minimalism. I carefully curated both color and flower type but allowed more freedom in the texture and shape since that feels more current than the super sleek, mono arrangements of the early aughts. I opted for an asymmetrical structure with subtle movement, and these gorgeous parrot tulips were the focus. Hellebores, one of my all time favorite flowers, have amazing lines and created movement along with drape of the maidenhair fern. Their shape and movement, which is echoed by the Queen Anne’s lace, reminds me of dappled light, and the two together create dimension. I am also a big fan of texture, so I included pieris japonica and fuzzy geraniums for a tactile quality. The small size of this bouquet would be a perfect accent to a simple sheath gown.

Bouquet Breakdown

  • Parrot tulips
  • Hellebores
  • Ranunculus
  • Queen Anne’s lace
  • Maidenhair ferns
  • Pieres japonica
  • Geraniums

A Glamorous Netherlands Wedding In Stunning Shades of Blush + Cream

We don’t receive all that many weddings from Amsterdam, so when we do, they grab our attention. But this one here didn’t need the unique locale to hold our gaze… the classic elegance and glam – and this gorgeous Bride – had that covered. Anouschka Rokebrand captured all the glitz and golden glamour and we couldn’t be happier she did – enjoy all the pretty pics right this way!

From Anouschka RokebrandJena, from Turks & Caicos and Robin, from The Netherlands met through work on Turks & Caicos. They make the sweetest couple. For their wedding they opted to celebrate in Robin’s home country, the Netherlands and they picked the gorgeous Waldorf Astoria in Amsterdam to tie the knot. Located on the canals, it makes for a lovely backdrop for photos.

Jena’s dress was stunning and she paired them with gorgeous Chanel heels. Jena’s bridesmaids wore matching dresses and shoes.

Due to the weather we had to have the ceremony indoors but the room looked beautiful with the ceremony backdrop with fresh flowers.

The dining tables were beautifully styled too and the couples table was a mirror table adorned by flowers and candles. Each guest had a personalized name tag on their plates.

For the dancing the party continued at the Maritime Museum in Amsterdam. The party started with the cutting of the cake, the bouquet toss, a father-daughter dance and of course the couple’s first dance.

A Nigerian wedding always is the guarantee of an explosion of colors! I met Adesuwa and Nick in London, approximately a year ago, and was immediately seduced by the project of their wedding. Adesuwa is from Nigerian origins, Nick is English and they both live in London. Their venue pick went to the amazing Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, which is French Riviera’s shining diamonds, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, from its hill in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. Lavender&Rose took care of the planning and design of the day and did that perfectly as they are used to. Wayne Riley declined the color palette of the wedding (light green and pink) for the design of the tables and florals at church. It was one of these very special summer days on the French Riviera, and the wedding ended with the warm summer breeze, that only the French Riviera can offer.

3 Stylish Ways To Dress Up Your Sneakers

Being a new mom has increased my desire to be extra comfy at all times, and that means sneakers are a BIG part of my style. But I still want to look fancy, too! Thankfully it’s very IN to wear kicks with just about anything, if done right. Here are three fashion bloggers who pull it off so beautifully and have completely inspired my new sense of “relaxed” style.

DRESSed Down

Julia Engel of Gal Meets Glam rocks the dressed down look with a button up blush number and kicks to match. Perfect for the city girl! When pairing sneakers with a dress, go for a pair with a little something extra like patent leather, embellishments, etc.

Casual-Cool

Elevate your errand run sneakers with a fun trench and a cute bag like Kat Tanita of With Love From Kat did here! Bonus points for a bit of simple jewelry and t-shirt styling, like this knotted look. The ultimate comfy, casual-cool outfit.

High Fashion Kicks

You’re telling me I can get all dolled up on the top and sport sneakers on the bottom? Absolutely. Vanessa Hong of The Haute Pursuit did it here and nailed it. You miiight not want to go to a wedding with kicks on, but it sure does work for other fancy events.

How to Take Charge of Your Wedding Album in 5 Easy Steps

You may think that tackling your own wedding album may be more than you can handle, but trust us: you’ve got this. All you need is a handful of gorgeous pics of you + yours, a weekend to get your design on and a savvy partner like The Wedding Shop by Shutterfly, the all-in-one wedding destination with everything you’ll ever need for your Big Day. Think stationery, gifts, decor and, of course, photo albums. Now let’s get started, shall we?

SET ASIDE TIME

We suggest taking a full Saturday or Sunday morning to really dive in and make this a fun activity for both you and your love – grab those morning lattes and your trusty laptops and get started. The Wedding Shop by Shutterfly makes it incredibly easy and fun to customize your album, from the cover to the layouts. Don’t have the time in your hectic schedules to tackle? Their Make My Book Service will do everything for you, right down to choosing those unique pictures you want to showcase from your Big Day. (Want to know more about the Make My Book Service? Keep reading for more info.)

PLAY WITH CUSTOMIZATION TO SHOW OFF WHAT MATTERS

We love that The Wedding Shop has so many ways to customize, and in such creative ways. Save those emotional images of just you and your spouse for The Wedding Shop’s true spread options – it will allow you to showcase clear shots of your faces across the binding of your wedding album. Group similar shots onto collage-style pages – like both of your squads getting ready or a ton of fun reception shots. For an extra-special touch, pair a photo of your vow recital with the actual text of your vows on the opposite page. You can even choose from double-thick, layflat options to keep your pages from getting bent or torn and crushed silk and leather covers. It will def make that amazing shot you want as your cover stand out even more. (We suggest a timeless pic that won’t ever go out of style.)

STAY WITHIN BUDGET

Guys, we all have a budget, but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice a high-quality wedding album to stick to it. The Wedding Shop by Shutterfly is ultra-affordable and professional-quality, so you can breathe easy and just focus on what’s important -creating a beautiful album that you’ll be proud to show off to your family and friends. Plus, with album themes in everything from watercolor to modern to rustic (just to name a few) and every layout under the sun, you’ll be thrilled with the level of personalization.

ORDER SEVERAL COPIES

You spent a lot of money on those photos, and now is the time to show them off! Order multiple copies of your album to gift to parents or grandparents with a personal note on the inside cover thanking them for their contributions to your wedding. Another idea? Order two copies for yourself – one for your coffee table (so you and your guests can see it every. single. day.) and another for safekeeping. That way, when your bestie uses your album as a coaster for her red wine or your future children get a little grabby with the pages, you’ll still have a picture perfect copy somewhere special!

USE EVERY TOOL AT YOUR DISPOSAL

Five words: the Make My Book Service. It’s The Wedding Shop’s answer to all of you beautiful brides who want to simplify the process even more and hand off the reigns to the professionals. Yep, the Make My Book designers will take all of those insanely gorgeous photos and design a photo book for you based on your wedding style – whether that’s classic, modern, rustic or something else. 6 Wedding Getaway Ideas We Love

You plan your wedding down to to the final minute—but what about that final minute? The way you leave your wedding is just as important as the way you enter. And by creating a unique getaway, you’ll leave your guests with a lasting impression of your best day ever.

If your destination is separate from your venue, try:

Kurt Boomer

VINTAGE CAR RENTAL
Nothing screams elegance quite like a vintage car. There are a ton of companies that will rent these out for a night, making it an easy option for a getaway. Enlist one of your bridesmaids to decorate the car with “just married” décor, and even use it as a backdrop for some of your wedding portraits. If vintage isn’t your thing, you can modernize the idea and rent a luxurious sport scar, instead. We can bet your fiancé will be quite pleased with this idea.

BICYCLE BUILT FOR TWO
This is great for outdoor weddings. Just imagine how romantic it will feel to hop on a two-person bicycle and ride away into wedded bliss. Pick a vintage style for a more romantic look and decorate it with streamers to add to the charm. Just be sure you aren’t going too far—you will be in your wedding gown, after all!

Kristin La Voie Photography
SPRUCED UP GOLF CART
This is another great option for outdoor weddings but can work for indoor ones, too. Golf carts come in a ton of different shapes and sizes, even colors! Pick one that fits your décor or get a plain one and decorate it yourself.

If your destination and venue are the same, try:

Southern Love Studios

SPARKLERS
You may have seen wedding photos of a couple leaving their reception with beautiful sparklers surrounding them. There’s a reason you remember these—they’re gorgeous! Set a time in the itinerary to have your wedding party come outside and light up the sparklers. Just be sure your venue allows these before settling on the idea.

Kylee Yee

CONFETTI POPPERS
If sparklers are out of the question, try a safer option like confetti poppers. With these, you can enlist the entire guest list to pop them as you walk out at newlyweds. Give them out as favors or place one on everyone’s seat with directions and a time to head out front. Plus, the pictures will be great—you can’t help but have a huge smile on your face when there’s confetti!

HOMEMADE RIBBON WANDS
My husband and I did this for our own wedding and it was so much fun. We spent an evening sipping wine and stringing together wands with ribbons and sticks we found at a local craft store. But, if crafting isn’t your thing or you don’t have the time, you can also order these from a variety of places. They not only look great in pictures, but your guests will have fun waving them around as you exit. Plus—no cleanup!

Nothing Could Stop This Adorable Couple From Saying “I Do”

You’d never know from Heather Roth Fine Art Photography‘s images that this was not Plan A. Or even Plan B! After a few hurdles that morning (thank you, Mother Nature), Kristin Ashley Weddings and Events whipped out Plan C – and it turned out perfect. From the first look through the last dance, this St. Louis wedding was absolutely beautiful – and so full of love.

Colors
Settings
Park

From Kristina Ashley Weddings and EventsHow many times do you hear, “When it rains it pours”? Well, it poured for this April 29th wedding in the historic, beautiful heart of St. Louis. With a guest count of 250 guests and no room for a back up plan, we moved our Plan A to B to then C. It made for one crazy wet day, but the soggy weather couldn’t dampen the spirits of the love-struck couple!

Stephanie and Bradford took the chance with the unpredictable Midwest weather by getting married at one of St. Louis’ most iconic outdoor venues in Forest Park: The World’s Fair Pavilion. The Jewish ceremony was officiated by the Bride’s brothers and was as memorable and heartfelt as it was truly hilarious! Tears flowed throughout the ceremony in laughter and joy.

Family is incredibly important to the couple, and they wanted to honor one of the most important guests – the Bride’s mother, who was watching down on the special day from heaven – in a subtle yet significant way. They chose her mother’s favorite color, purple, as an accent color throughout their decor so she could be present throughout her daughter’s big day.

A photo that still gives us chill-bumps is of the couple holding hands around a column just before their first look. The Bride recalls: “Seconds before our first look, Bradford took my hand, and in that instant, I felt the exact same electric shock go through my body that I did the first time we shook hands when we met. My heart exploded, and I knew it was going to be a perfect day!”

Although the rain poured down, guests couldn’t be bothered because they were having so much fun at the reception. Stephanie and Bradford both work in the liquor/wine/beer industry, so unique elements like a dedicated Bourbon Bar, Bubble Bar, signature cocktails, and a Cigar Bar were absolutely in order! Romance, texture, love, and laughter abounded at this truly unforgettable wedding.

From the Blue Bridesmaids to the Gorgeous Greenery, We’re Loving This Virginia Wedding!

This beautiful Bride had a vision – organic and ethereal, simple natural touches – and the finished results? Perfectly on point with said vision. The prettiest dusty blue bridesmaid dresses, greenery all around and sweet kisses galore make this Virginia wedding a prime example of romantic, rustic elegance and we’re oh so glad that Kim Stockwell captured it all!

From Kim Stockwell… Morgan knew she wanted an outdoor venue with some quaint touches that reminded her of where she grew up in the rolling hills of Tennessee. Seven Springs proved to be the perfect spot tucked away right outside the city of Richmond, Virginia. Morgan worked with her planner Maggie Richard of Maggie Richard Design to make sure she got the most out of her wedding day. Morgan’s vision was organic and ethereal. She wanted the rustic touches of her hometown with the organic elegance of a well done outdoor wedding. The design was centered on dusty blues and simple natural touches. The couple said their own vows in front of friends and family under a dreamy organic inspired floral arch by Photosynthesis Floral Design. The bridal suite and reception space were filled with the fresh calm scent of lavender that was hand dried by the mother of the bride. Guests were given individual sachets of lavender to take home and enjoy. Southern cuisine was shared under bistro lights and guests enjoyed dancing into the late evening. Morgan and David celebrated with a spirited sendoff from friends and family as they departed for their honeymoon in the Keys. It was the perfect day for this sweet couple and I am so grateful I had the opportunity to capture it for them.

Transforming a Hollywood Eatery Into a Chic, Indoor Garden

From stately Greystone Mansion to ultra chic Los Angeles eatery, this celebration designed by Vanessa Michelle Co. incorporates both old world beauty and cool Hollywood glamour. The Design Shop’s florals and greenery transformed Fig and Olive into an indoor garden in a stunning white and green color palette and a sea of candles. See all the romance through image after stunning image captured by Carmen Santorelli.

From the Planner… Jacqueline and Bradley were a dream to work with. They are so kind, generous, gorgeous, and have impeccable taste. What better combination can you get? They wanted the design clean, chic, and for their guests to feel like we were traveling along the Italian countryside. A Tuscan ambiance was naturally lent from the beautiful landscape at Greystone Mansion and the cool Italian vibe at Fig and Olive. These two venues helped us recreate an intimate ambiance that is exactly what they envisioned. The guests enjoyed an amazing ceremony set up at the estate under a Chuppah dripping in greens, then continued on to the hip Fig and Olive Melrose Place where guests dined under candlelight and enjoyed the strings of Cale. Our vendors were carefully curated to reflect the Old World meets the Hollywood glam aesthetic and all executed beautifully. Carmen Santorelli, completely blew us away with these images. This day was incredible from beginning to end and we were so honored to be a part of Jaqueline and Bradley’s wedding day! Their generous spirit is infectious and you can clearly see their love for one another in their photos.

3 Reasons THIS is the Perfect Gift for Your Bridesmaids

From dress shopping to bridal showers and stand by your side on your Big Day, your bridesmaids are your cheerleaders of love. So, when it comes time to brainstorm the gift ideas for your girls, you want it to be the perfect thank you. A little something sweet (and affordable) that they can cherish for years to come: a ring dish! We love seeing these pop up in weddings and they make for the best gift for your besties. See why below, along with the most gorgeous pieces from Marbella Dish captured by Justine Milton.

These beauties are a fun way to give your bridesmaids the same gift (rather than individual gift ideas for each girl), while choosing custom colors for each of them to fit their personalities and style choices. Or, to match their dresses!

Worried about getting a gift they already have? Everyone can always use an extra ring dish! I like to keep one in every room of the house—plus they’re just a gorgeous accessory to have.

Any gift that is compact and affordable wins in my book! You have enough to think about when toting everything to your wedding venue, so the smaller the better. And, it’s the perfect price point for gifting, while still gifting something that is truly beautiful.

We’re Fans of This Bride’s Edgy yet Romantic Style

We’re always obsessed with Rime Arodaky‘s rockstar gowns, so whenever a Bride dons one for her wedding day, we’re all heart eyes. Amanda complemented her two-piece lace number with an edgy quartz crown by Crowns and Wreaths, sleek silver Aquazurra sandals, and a perfectly undone bouquet of white blooms by La Rosa Canina. Her Florence wedding looks as good as she does, so head to the Vault to see all of ARTIESE Fine Art Photographer‘s beautiful images.

Whimsical

From ARTIESE Fine Art PhotographerThere’s nothing more romantic than a garden ceremony in Florence and an al fresco reception dinner to follow. Amanda and Kevin’s wedding was simply a dream. After having been together for 10 years and starting a family (they have a one and a half-year-old daughter together), there was no better way to celebrate than this elegant affair.

The Bride and Groom chose Villa La Vedetta as their venue, a quiet hotel nestled in the hills of Florence. The Villa was absolutely breathtaking. The ceremony took place in the gardens, where La Rosa Canina Firenze showcased their beautiful work through two large flower urns that the Bride and Groom stood between. The aisle was covered with white and blush tone rose petals, which gave a very romantic vibe to the evening.

The guests anxiously awaited the Bride’s arrival as they held on to paper cones filled with rose petals to throw during the exit. A string quartet of all females from the renowned The Alma Project played beautiful music throughout the ceremony. The Groom walked in with his mom as the string quartet played “Your Song” by Elton John. The guests all rose as the Bride and her father entered while the string quartet played “Bittersweet Symphony” by the Verve, one of the Bride’s favorite songs. The officiant of this ceremony was the Bride’s uncle, somebody who is very near and dear to her heart. The ceremony script was designed and written by none other than the Bride and Groom themselves, making it extra special. After the hand written vows were spoken, the rings were exchanged, and the kiss was given, the Bride and Groom exited to “Unchained Melody” by the Righteous Brothers as rose petals filled the air and smiles and tears were had by all.

After a quick cocktail hour filled with music by the quartet, prosecco, and fantastic Italian hors d’oeuvres, it was time to move into the reception. The guests were seated on the terrace, which had an exceptional view of the city of Florence. One long table seated the 50 guests, with white flower arrangements and a lot of candles filling the centre of the table. The Bride and Groom sat in the middle of the table with lush green arrangements on the backs of their chairs. As the courses were served, speeches were said, tears were shed, and laughs were echoing. With a small intimate wedding such as this one, the speeches feel much more special, as everyone there has a close relationship with the Bride and Groom.

As the sun was setting, the Bride and Groom cut their traditional Italian wedding cake, called a Millefeuille cake, and popped a bottle of champagne. The dancing commenced with a mix of 90s R&B and soul music. To finish off the night’s festivities, an old fashioned gelato cart rolled in, serving the guests ice cream cones until the evening ended. What a beautiful night!

See the Wedding our Editors Can’t Stop Thinking About

When my husband and I renew our vows one day, we’ll be calling La Fete Weddings, because this right here is all my wedding dreams come to life. I honestly thought I was looking at a dreamy, Italian destination wedding the first time I scrolled through the beautiful gallery of images by Brumley and Wells and was completely blown away when I realized this gorgeous event took place much closer to home – Sunstone Vineyards and Winery in California! This European-esque celebration came together through the work of some of the industry’s finest vendors – Archive Rentals, TEAM Hair and Makeup, and Ambient Event Design just to name a few – and is one of those weddings you won’t be able to stop thinking about for days.

Charmed with old world elegance, masterfully considered design, and the classic romance of stone, hand-hewn beams from Queen Elizabeth’s rose garden, and brooding tones of natural light pouring in to every room, Sunstone Winery provides the perfect setting for a timeless wedding. Brett and Sarah’s day was no exception. The ceremony took place under the live oak, surrounded by the property’s vineyard, and followed by the reception in the back grounds of the estate.

5 Ways To Fake It When Your Summer Tan Fades

With a mild start to fall this year, we’ve had plenty of opportunities to soak up the early autumn sun. But don’t be fooled my friends, those cold days of fall are right around the corner and that summer tan will start to fade—leaving you with the task of faking it. Unless you’re jet-setting to a tropical island anytime soon, you’ll want to check out these five ways to faux glow this season!

Coconut Melting Tanning Balm Face & Body

I personally don’t love the smell of self tanners, but this one is the best I’ve found yet! Rather than a lotion, it comes in the form of a coconut balm, which smells lovely. It’s perfect if you’re looking for a mild, natural looking tan that doesn’t scream I just put self tanner on last night!

‘Bronze’ Shimmer Brick Compact

I’ve used this shimmer brick for years and am absolutely obsessed with it’s versatility. From highlighting the bridge of your nose and cheekbones to using it as an eye shadow, it gives me the glow I need when the winter blues set in.

Trystal Self Tanning Bronzing Minerals

A mineral powder that self tans while you wear it? Sign me up! This unique formula interacts with your moisturizer or liquid foundation base to tan your skin, while micronized crystals reflect light to create a smooth skin finish.

‘Somerville360°’ Tanning Towelettes

These tanning towelettes are my go-to when I need a fresh all-over glow. The best part? They don’t streak! Within 2-4 hours you’ll be looking like you just walked off the beach.

Soleil de La Mer

Prefer the classic self tanner lotion? Nothing beats Soleil de La Mer. Talk about beach babe!

Start Dreaming of Spring with this Boho Mountain Elopement Shoot

Towards the end of every winter, little buds start to pop up and spring starts to makes its subtle yet steady arrival. Tangerine Room Events tapped into this annual, magical masterpiece and used it as inspiration for their elopement shoot, captured here by the talented Tamara Gruner. With pretty patterns and gorgeous textiles, and beautiful blooms to boot, these pics have us eager to skip ahead to next spring and soak up all the wonder that it brings. Don’t you agree!?

From Tangerine Room EventsThe inspiration for this styled elopement began with the textures, layers and feelings of anticipation that come with the renewal of spring. In the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, mountain elevations can still be full of snow, while the spring sun shines brightly and pod-like buds and moss spring from the hard ground. The creative team behind this editorial shoot wanted to reflect the sweet time of renewal and anticipation brought forth each spring season. Delicate but textured details were woven throughout the intimate design, creating inviting spaces to gather throughout the mountain venue. The airy color palette suggested a pull toward warmer days, while romantic, jewel toned accents gave nod to the richness and romance of the scene.

Throw a Glam Gal-O-Ween Party Without a Stitch of Orange

Throwing a Halloween get together with your girls? This glamour infused inspiration from McKenna Bleu and Lindsey Regan Thorne takes traditional holiday decor and gives it a layer of pretty. Glam details like gilded pumpkins, lace skulls, and glittering face paint are all the reason to throw a fun Gal-o-ween party. Read up on these blogger’s tips for the perfect halloween bash complete with delicious sips.

In our world, there are no age limits or amount of ‘girly’ that can’t take over Halloween. Call it, ‘Glam-O-Ween’ or ‘Gal-O-Ween,’ if you will… Both totally encompass our idea of the perfect Halloween soirée. Here’s our take on Gal-O-Ween gathering! We both gravitate towards color palettes that are light and airy, so when scheming up a theme around a holiday that is typically dark and moody we ran into a few road blocks, but quickly found our happy place.

We started with a space that consisted of light furniture and white walls. We steered away from the typical, ‘Halloween orange’ and pulled out the dramatic stops with blacks and grays and softened with $2. 99 Trader Joe eucalyptus bunches. We used varying sizes of artificial, stylish, pumpkins to create tonal layers (thank you, Target). Plastic spiders and bats erupted within our girly soirée, making it perfect amount of elegant-cheesy!

We ditched the basic champagne and rosé drinks and went for something that will give us a little warmer during the cooler, fall months. We came up with a sage garnish cocktail, consisting of bourbon, ginger beer, a lemon wedge, sage and thyme. Even the girliest of girly-girls will enjoy this drink!

We like clothes (obviously;) and said bye-bye to the idea of costumes and wore outfits that were true to us (and that we will be able to wear again). McKenna’s dress will transition so well into New Years Eve parties and Lindsey’s is the perfect mix dressy/ casual for a holiday gathering. We hired a face painter who completely transformed our look! What gal doesn’t love to be drenched in a little sparkle?!

Tips for Creating the Perfect Gal-O-Ween Soirée

Select one bold color to intermix as an accent (ours was black)

Less can be more (believe it or not)

Find two or three areas to deck out within your space (ours was the bar cart, foster table and coffee table)

Create a costume with what you already own (then add sparkle)

Think outside of the box when it comes to a signature cocktail. Ours didn’t scream Halloween, but the sage mixed well with the soft eucalyptus that was used in the decor. It was also a good, fall, low-calorie drink.
