Ivory, deep burgundy, and sage green reflected the romance of Italy and the warmth of the Tuscan countryside. Bold anthuriums stood in contrast to crisp white linens, framed by the villa gardens, while candlelight and crystal chandeliers cast a soft glow over the open-air setting.

Set in the rolling hills of Chianti, Borgo Stomennano is reached by a long, tree-lined drive, revealing an 11th-century estate with a timeless, romantic sense of place. Here, Claire and Jack envisioned a multi-day celebration that honored the setting — blending relaxed Italian charm with subtle Old World glamour. After ten years together, they prioritized experience over formalities—bringing their closest people together in a destination that encouraged connection, ease, and the joy of celebrating together. The celebration unfolded in thoughtful chapters. Guests were first welcomed to Monteriggioni at Borgo San Luigi, where they stayed, before gathering at Borgo Stomennano for an intimate pizza party with a live Italian swing band and Brindapino’s food and drink stations. The wedding day then embraced a richer palette of burgundy and crimson, with crystal chandeliers suspended from century-old trees, adding romance while honoring the estate’s natural beauty. Every detail — from the bespoke burgundy stationery by Lupine Letters to the artisan table linens by Apollonia Linen — was thoughtfully curated by Madame Wedding Design to create an immersive experience that felt both grand and deeply personal.

Claire wore a Pnina Tornai ball gown with a subtle jacquard print, a sweetheart neckline, and detachable straps that draped softly from her shoulders. The sculptural silhouette felt timeless yet expressive, complementing the setting and the quiet elegance of the day. A cathedral-length veil added movement as she walked beneath the cypress trees, while her bouquet of deep red anthuriums and cascading amaranthus echoed the rich burgundy palette of the celebration. Later in the evening, she changed into a second look by Eliyah The Label, bringing a fresh energy to the poolside dancing. The night before, she chose a romantic halter-neck dress by Reformation with tiered lace, embracing a softer, more relaxed tone for the pizza party.

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Claire’s bridesmaids wore Watters dresses in soft blush tones, with varying shades adding depth while maintaining a cohesive look. They carried simple yet structured bouquets of white lilies and trailing green amaranthus, complementing the palette beautifully.[/field]

Jack and his groomsmen wore State & Liberty tuxedos with satin shawl lapels — ivory for Jack and black for the groomsmen. For the welcome dinner, Jack selected a light blue linen suit by the same designer, ideal for the evening’s warm, al fresco celebration.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]
The culinary experience was rooted in Tuscan tradition, crafted by Guidi Lenci. The welcome dinner set the tone with a golden-hour aperitivo on the lawns of Borgo Stomennano, followed by an intimate pizza party with pies baked fresh in outdoor ovens and a curated Spritz bar. As the sun set, guests lingered over gelato while a live Italian swing band played, easing everyone into the celebration. On the wedding day, guests were welcomed with prosecco before the ceremony, followed by an aperitivo in front of the villa. A curated selection of hors d’oeuvres circulated among mingling guests — favorites included mini bruschetta, seasonal tempura vegetables, and veal and sage skewers — alongside two signature cocktails: La Bella Spritzarita, a Margarita-inspired Hugo Spritz for the bride, and a classic Negroni for the groom. Dinner unfolded at long tables beneath crystal chandeliers, where regional flavors took center stage. Handmade pastas — tortelli filled with pappa al pomodoro and pappardelle with porcini mushrooms — were followed by a choice of beef filet or eggplant parmigiana. Wines from Borgo Stomennano’s vineyard were poured throughout the evening, extending the sense of place well into the night, before a sweet Italian dessert display carried the celebration into the after-party.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]
Floral design by Stiatti Fiori was guided by the architecture and grounds of Borgo Stomennano, using structure and restraint to highlight the setting rather than compete with it. For the welcome dinner, low arrangements of white garden roses and ranunculus were layered with potted herbs and seasonal citrus, creating a tablescape that felt freshly gathered from the Tuscan countryside. On the wedding day, a richer palette of burgundy, white, blush, and green grounded the design. Arrangements balanced sculptural form with organic movement, featuring bold anthuriums, trailing amaranthus, and soft white blooms. At the ceremony, florals framed the bride and groom while drawing attention to the iron gates and statues anchoring the space. A similar composition lined the back row of ivory garden chairs, creating quiet cohesion. Bridesmaids carried minimal bouquets of white calla lilies and cascading green amaranthus, while Claire’s bouquet offered a fuller interpretation with vibrant burgundy anthuriums. During cocktail hour, arrangements in urns topped four pedestals displaying guest names and seating assignments, set against Tuscany’s rolling hills. Iron lounge seating with ivory cushions invites guests to pause and take in the landscape before dinner. For the reception, a serpentine table followed the natural curve of the villa’s back garden. Crystal chandeliers suspended from centuries-old trees framed the open-air setting, while tall silver candelabras with tapered ivory candles and votives added warmth. Lush burgundy arrangements ran the length of the table, woven with deep purple grapes, ripe pears, and dark figs for added richness and depth. Burgundy menu cards by Lupine Letters, illustrated with Tuscan cypress trees, rested atop Ginori Impero china with platinum filet at each place setting, completing a design that felt layered, intentional, and rooted in place.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Between dinner and dancing, guests gathered to watch Claire and Jack assemble a classic Italian millefoglie cake — a time-honored staple of Italian wedding celebrations. With “That’s Amore” by Dean Martin playing, they joined the chef to build the dessert tableside, stacking delicate pastry with fresh cream and berries before finishing it with a dusting of powdered sugar. Guests sang along as sparklers lit the courtyard, making it one of the evening’s most joyful highlights.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]
Music set the tone throughout the celebration. The ceremony took place along the borgo’s cypress-lined aisle, where Jack’s father served as officiant. A string quartet played Nat King Cole’s “L-O-V-E” as Jack and the wedding party processed, followed by Coldplay’s “Yellow” for Claire’s walk down the aisle. After their first kiss, they recessed to Beyoncé’s “Love on Top,” leading guests into cocktail hour as white flower petals filled the air. The quartet continued through cocktail hour before Claire and Jack stepped into their first dance to Snoh Aalegra’s “Find Someone Like You” in the back garden. After speeches, they danced with their parents to James Taylor’s “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)” before “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire signaled a transition to the dance floor. The night concluded with “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield — a joyful final note to the celebration.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]One of the most memorable details of the evening was the dance floor itself. A black-and-white checkered floor was positioned beside the pool, beneath a disco ball that reflected light across the water and surrounding stone. What began as an elegant setting for dancing gradually turned playful, as the night ended with guests jumping into the pool—an unscripted moment that perfectly captured the joy and ease of the celebration.[/field]
