How to Choose the Perfect Wedding Rings

Let’s be honest, planning a wedding can be a little complicated.  From the cake to the flowers to the guest list, there’s a lot of decisions to make.  But the one thing you most definitely don’t want to worry about? Choosing the right wedding bands.  Which is why we’re teaming up with the fabulous Long’s Jewelers to help ease the stress a bit.  It’s Rings 101 from Boston’s most beloved jeweler.  Sit back and soak it all in.

1. Choose Your Wedding Ring Style

From the band width to the metal finish to the overall look and feel, narrowing down the style of your band is one of THE most important decisions you’ll make.  Are you and yours a vintage-inspired duo, a modern couple or two sweeties with a love of all things simple and sweet? By choosing the right band width and metal that fit your style personality, you can count on a happy ring buying experience.  Think a 4 mm band in brushed metal or a 10 mm band in a more textured look. Honestly, the options at Long’s Jewelers are endless… and beyond pretty.

2. Understand The Differences In Metal Type

And speaking of metal… understanding the differences between all of the ah-mazing options is totally key. From classic + gorgeous yellow gold (hint: always go for the 18K) to the platinum pretties (hypoallergenic + heavy + long-lasting) to the white gold stunners to the edgy (+ seriously chic) Tungsten or Carbon Fiber rings that are totally you and totally unique.  Not sure which one to choose?  No worries. Long’s Jewelers will walk with you step by step throughout the entire process to make sure you pick a metal that is perfect.

3. Consider Your Lifestyle

Making sure your ring fits into your day to day lifestyle can often be overlooked, but as the staff at Long’s Jewelers will tell you… it’s sooo important.  Which means that whether you spend your days working with your hands (hint, hint: platinum) or play tennis every.single.morning (just say no to the eternity bands), selecting the right band will make alllll the difference.

4. Settle On A Budget

Just like every aspect of your Big Day, you’ll most definitely want to set a budget BEFORE you go ring shopping.  But where, oh where to start?  Long’s Jewelers recommends setting aside $1,000 and heading upward based on those details you are simply swooning over. Think diamond accents, metal type and more. Truly… it all just depends on what you’re looking for.  Our advice?  Start with doing some research online to get a ballpark estimate.  You’ll find it so very, very helpful that you did.

Can’t wait to put all of your new knowledge to the test?  Join Long’s Annual Wedding Band Weekend March 18-20, 2016 for wall-to-wall wedding bands, a meet and greet with some awesome wedding ring vendors and selection and pricing that will make you sooo happy.  Oh, and there’s also the chance to win $1,000 off your wedding ring, plus even more amazing prizes.  I’m talking a dream honeymoon, suits for your bridal party, dinner and wine, a shopping spree, a pair of TAG Huer watches, gift certificates and more. RSVP here, lovelies.  It’s going to be awesome.

Casual California Beach Engagement Session

When it comes to personal style, I’m a bit torn. I’ll jump at the chance to pop on a pretty dress but if I had to choose, I’d live in jeans and comfy fisherman sweaters every single day. And so this engagement shoot from Lucy Cuneo speaks to my stylish soul. These two lovebirds strolled the beach, calm, cool and oh so chic (see it all in our Vault) and good news – this isn’t the last we’re seeing of them either. Head over to our Front Page later on today to see their love story continue with their intimate autumn wedding.

From Lucy Cuneo…. Nina and Lawrence took a break from their wedding preparations to take a stroll on the beach near Mendocino, California. You could travel the world, as they did together for a year after first falling in love, and not find a better spot than this to stroll arm in arm.

The Pacific breakers, black sand and rugged cliffs are the perfect foil for this dramatic shoot overflowing with genuine warmth and charm. The oversized sweater provides a winning blend elegance, femininity and protection from the elements!

How to Host the Best Bachelor Viewing Party Ever

It’s a given that Monday nights are reserved for Bachelor marathons, and we here at SMP have one very important question to ask you. Will you accept this rosé (see what we did there)? Because not only did we decide to throw the end-all and be-all of Bachelor viewing parties filled with wine, sugar sweets, and flower crowns, but we’re giving YOU the lowdown on how to recreate this fun get together for the season finale!

[dotted]

The Food

What happens during The Bachelor stays between you and Chris Harrison, and in our opinion finale calories don’t count! Because when you’ve got a table filled with Sugarfina sweets and Mayflour Confections, it’s time to say game over to counting calories and hello yoga pants. We paired our sugar high with La Crema wines and to say the outcome was smile inducing would be a be putting it lightly.

[dotted]

The Florals

What’s a party without florals?!? For our Bachelor viewing celebration we wanted romantic arrangements that were flirty yet feminine, without using the literal red rose. We pulled in the amazingly talented Winston Flowers who translated our vision into one crazy gorgeous reality – just look that those flower crowns! With ranunculuses the size of saucers and garden roses that go on for days, we crafted up the ultimate flower wall that is coming to a DIY page near you soon.

[dotted]

The Favor Bags

We’re all about cheeky favors and of course that extended to our post rose ceremony goodie bags. Each lady left with a Yes Way Rosé tote filled to the brim with Laura Hooper Calligraphy goodies, La Crema Wine, Sugarfina sweets, Canvas Home wine glasses, and a few Mayflour Confections cupcakes (you know, for the ride home). Thanks to all of our fab vendors it was the perfect end to a perfect evening!

The Rose

It almost goes without saying that you simply can’t watch The Bachelor without a glass of wine in hand. Thankfully our dear friends at La Crema graciously supplied libations for our celebratory shindig which not only was the perfect pairing to our party, but was BEYOND delish. Cheers to Ben and his beloved!

Cozy + Intimate Farm-to-Table Restaurant Wedding

Wedding food gets a bad reputation, but this couple ensured theirs would be different, putting an emphasis food and wine when planning their New Jersey wedding. Working with Chef David Felton, this Bride and Groom created a farm-to-table menu of elevated comfort food perfectly suited for their natural and organic-inspired day. See all the pretty, including gorgeous florals from Laura Clare Fine Floral Design and photos from Carolina Rivera Photography, in The Vault!

From The Bride…We wanted an intimate wedding with focus on the details we thought were most important. For us that included the food, wine, and flowers in a beautiful yet relaxed atmosphere. An outdoor ceremony in the spring time was our first choice for a wedding. Natirar at Ninety Acres was exactly what we envisioned. The farm-to-table menu was designed for us by chef David Felton and event coordination by Megan Dashio. They inspired trust that allowed us to focus on the most personal details. We wanted something very soft, lush, and feminine along with something strong, rustic, and masculine. There was no set color palate in our minds, just to keep it soft, natural, and organic. We captured that with peonies and reclaimed wood with help from our florist, Laura Clare Designs. Laura created over 100 floral arrangements in vintage blue-green mason jars, as well as decorating the arch created by the groom. The arch was constructed with American chestnut from a one-room school house built in the 1890’s and hardware from old barn doors. The venue was also provided the perfect backdrop both indoors, with rich woods and leather, and outside, with the farm and the woods.

Being from the Midwest, we wanted seasonal comfort foods that were elevated. Our guests were lavished by an extensive menu of appetizers and custom cocktails on the back patio while listening to the Ian Kenselaar Trio, a surprise from the groom. Guests were then escorted inside for lunch with ingredients harvested from the gardens at Ninety Acres and local farms. We chose a strawberry-rhubarb pie for our wedding “cake”. Dessert was a big hit with guests as they filled their plates with various bite-sized treats such as S’mores, fruit cobblers, and mini tarts. We danced our first dance to “It Had To Be You”, with an original arrangement for us by The Ian Kenselaar Jazz Band, another beautiful surprise from the groom.

Piece of advice to future brides is keep the focus on a few small, special details. If you focus on all of the details, you will be stressed and lose sight of what is really important. Decide what things are the most important and do them well.

I went in for my first wedding dress consultation and that is where I found my dress. I was looking for a dress that would work well in a garden wedding. I didn’t want a dress that would be too hot for the weather and wanted something that would show off my figure. I tried on a candlelight version of my dress and it made me looked washed out, so I tried on the same dress in an ivory lace with a mocha slip underlay. I loved how it looked and was smitten with that dress.
My dress was not complete until I had my accessories. Nancy Stone from Nancy and David Fine Jewels loaned me a pair of stunning pair of diamond earrings, tennis bracelet, and infinity bands to complete my look. She was also the creator of my engagement ring.

Advice From The Groom…Select vendors you can trust and connect with. Choose a venue and vendors that share your vision and passion. Keep it simple and let them run with it. If they are right for you they will help you create a wedding better than you ever expected. Show your bride that you aren’t just there to taste cake. Be involved. It is your day too. There were no questions from our guests that our wedding day was “our day,” with elements that represented both of us.

How to Translate Your Personal Style to Your Bridal Style

Wedding dress shopping can be overwhelming—in a sea of white gowns, how are you supposed to find the one dress that is totally and completely you? That’s where the fabulous Lanie List comes in. As the founder of the wonderful Lovely boutique, she knows a thing or two about helping brides find the perfect dress, and today she’s sharing her secrets. Because, as Lanie says, “ultimately, it’s not just about finding a great dress, but making you feel your best.”

Tip #1 – Forget your personal style

I know this may sound controversial, but to us, personal style is your day-to-day look.  And most of us wear jeans, leggings, lots of black, probably nothing near the style or silhouette of a wedding dress. So instead consider, what do you love in a wedding day look?  Do you get starry eyed when you see long sleeve gowns?  Do you want a dress that can fly when you spin around on the dance floor?  We’ve seen a girl with tattoo sleeves end up in strapless tulle ball gown and a tomboy Navy officer fall in love with the most high fashion French designer (true stories).  Just imagine your perfect wedding day and what you’d look like there, and start shopping with that vision in mind.

Tip #2 – Keep in mind the fit that you like for your body type

You may have a dreamy beach wedding planned with a romantic and simple slip dress, but if you know you want the support of a bra and built in corset, you’ll need to let your stylist know first and foremost. You CAN find options that are the best of both worlds, but if you start your search by trying on gowns that you don’t feel confident in, you’ll find yourself feeling down before you even get started.  Don’t know what works best for your body?  Feel free to ask your stylist.  She has tried hundreds of gowns on brides and has a pretty good idea of what looks good on certain body types.  Or think of a dress you own that you always feel like a million bucks in, and try to isolate what you like about it so well.  There are so many wedding dress options, you’ll definitely be able to find one with the same qualities.

Tip #3 – Don’t just try on anything

Your friends and family may show you gowns and you say ‘why not’, but it is possible to be TOO open to new ideas.  We hear brides say ‘I’m open to anything’ and that ends up being a tough situation for the bride in the end.  Don’t be open to anything.  Do the up-front work so you have an enjoyable shopping experience, trying on gowns that make you feel confident and beautiful.  Otherwise, you’ll end up confusing yourself, having too many options to chose from, and possibly having others rally hard behind their favorites, not yours.

Tip #4 – Say it with Accessories

We’ve seen lots of brides go more classic than they expected to.  They found a flattering, timeless dress and couldn’t resist.  But if you have already themed your wedding to the nines, it’s easy to add a crop beaded top, bridal cap, or other trendy accessory so you can have fun with the look without having the permanence of it.  And don’t forget the rehearsal dinner and bachelorette party.  Go nuts on the fashion trends there.

Toast with this Earl Grey Tea Cocktail

I love Jacquelyn from Lark And Linen for so many reasons, but this little earl grey cocktail concoction she whipped up just made me adore her even more. Part healthy, part fabulous – I do believe I’ll be adding this little number to my must-make cocktail list immediately. Cheers lovelies!

From Jacquelyn… I’m admittedly a bit of a tea granny. My 2-3 cup a day habit has been well documented in the past, I’m certain of it. In the same token, I rarely meet a cocktail I don’t like. I know that makes me sound like an absolute lush, but there’s just something about a well crafted beverage that sets my heart aflutter.

So when I first stumbled upon Eden‘s recipe for an earl grey cocktail, I had one of those aha moments. I mean, it’s a serendipitous combination of two of my very favourite things. And now that I’ve tested it out for myself, I’m a total and complete convert.

Earl Grey Tea Cocktail

Elegant Summer Winery Wedding

It all started when she was eight.  The planning, the dreaming, the (eventual) pinning… it was all weddings, all the time for this beautiful bride.  So when it came time to put together the real thing, she was an inspiration board just waiting to happen… and her sweet beau?  Happily along for the ride. Think elegant + fun-filled details all captured beautifully by Brooke Beasley. Fall in love in THE VAULT.

From the Bride… It was around the age of eight years old that I really started planning my wedding. Instead of “Babysitter Club” books, I was borrowing wedding magazines from the local library and tabbing ideas that fit my dream wedding vision. I’ve seen every episode of every wedding-themed reality TV show and even had a Wedding Pinterest board well before I was engaged. It goes without saying that I was obsessed with anything wedding!

In early 2008, while attending California Polytechnic State University in beautiful San Luis Obispo, some friends introduced me to Aria. We had many mutual friends since we were both involved with the Greek system and started our relationship with sushi dates, hiking adventures, and lots of laughter. After five years of dating (three of which were were long distance), Aria and I finally settled in the San Francisco Bay Area together and we were engaged within a few months. The evening he proposed was a complete dream come true and the surprise dinner he planned with our families from out of town was a memory I’ll never forget! We even have the menu, signed by all our family members, framed on our wall today!

Being a fiancée was a title I was so excited to hold! I began planning the details of our wedding shortly after our engagement, but surprisingly found it so much more difficult than I thought. Because I had been exposed to SO much wedding inspiration for years of my life, I had quite a hard time making decisions! With the help of my decisive husband-to-be, and my incredibly organized mother, I started making specific decisions about a year into planning. Thankfully, my sweet fiancé learned to say “Yes, dear” to my many ideas and projects!

First, we toured about 20 venues all over California! As a school teacher, I knew I wanted to get married in the summer because I had the time off work. I was hunting for an outdoor venue, with Spanish or Mediterranean influences. Once we stumbled upon some photos of the Martinelli Event Center and Garré Winery, which happen to be taken by the extremely talented wedding photographer Brooke Beasley, we knew we had found our perfect venue! After that, the flowers, food, and other vendors just fell into place. I was so in love with Brooke Beasley’s photography style and after a short phone call with her, I instantly knew she was the photographer for us! It was like chatting with a friend you had know for years, so I knew Brooke would help us feel confident and comfortable, while capturing the look we were hoping for. I also tried on 57 wedding dresses before finding the perfect balance of fitted, flared, and sparkle!

For inspiration, I researched other winery weddings on Style Me Pretty and knew I wanted a romantic and refreshing feel for all our guests. I was hoping our wedding would look timeless, but also wanted to add a few fun and modern twists! I’m a sucker for all things with sparkle, so I used bold, navy stripes, bows, and gold to add a touch of Kate Spade-inspired flair. We also knew we wanted to treat our guests to handmade ice cream sandwiches to enjoy as a late night snack on that warm, summer evening.

When the big day finally arrived, I was honored and humbled by the amazing work of our vendors and my incredible mother who served as the world’s BEST unofficial wedding planner. After spending many years planning the wedding in my own head, it was remarkable to see every detail come together in real life! It was overwhelmingly special to walk down the aisle, surrounded by so many friends and family from different parts of our life. I will always remember the look in my husband’s eyes as we held hands at the altar and exchanged personalized vows. During our first dance together, it felt like there was no one else in the world but him and me. The whole day was a complete dream and the best celebration I have ever been a part of! Every day since our wedding has been a great reminder of how lucky I am to be surrounded by such supportive family and friends and to committed to the love of my life!

Romantic Garden-Inspired Spring Moscow Wedding in Pastel Hues

I’m still not convinced this Moscow wedding, captured to perfection by Sonya Khegay, isn’t actually an inspiration session—it’s just that breathtaking. From the beautiful Bride’s gorgeous lace wedding dress and flawless hair and makeup to the pretty pastel color palette and stunning ceremony and reception spaces, this wedding is almost too good to be true. Do yourself a favor and see it all in The Vault now!

From Sonya KhegayIt was the last day of April and still very cold in the morning. The weather forecast wasn’t pleasing and no one expected that the sun would come out, but miracles happen and light rain gave way to the warm rays.

I love how all the details went together, you could feel the harmony in everything throughout the entire wedding day from the morning until the fireworks.

A gentle look of the bride, elegant but so airy and unique decor, the fresh and light atmosphere of early spring and, of course, true happiness in the eyes. My heart becomes so warm from these memories, it is always a pleasure to see the birth of a new family of two loving hearts.

A Nautical South Carolina Island Wedding

There isn’t a single image in this gallery I wouldn’t hang on my wall. That is a true statement. They are truly as gorgeous as they come. I can only imagine the look of this beautiful couples’ face when they first laid eyes on their big day as seen through The Happy Bloom‘s amazing lens, and I couldn’t be more thankful that they shared them with us. See them all in the VAULT.

From The Happy BloomDaufuskie Island is a quaint little island that most people have never heard off. It’s nestled in between Savannah, Georgia and Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The island is just over 8 square miles and can only be accessed by ferry. Yep, ferry! What a grand way to welcome your guests to your wedding day!

Chrissy + Bo’s guests arrived in Hilton Head and were greeted with refreshments. They then were treated to half hour ferry ride on a warm and beautiful September day. At this exact time, Chrissy was finishing her hair and getting ready for her bridal portraits. Chrissy and her bridesmaids got ready at Chrissy’s family home where her parents live today. Her girls, dressed in chic and nautical navy, gathered round and giggled as we all went out back for portraits. Simple, clean and white bouquets completed their sophisticated and classic look. Having portraits is a great thing but having portraits in your parents’ backyard? That’s truly special and something that Chrissy will always cherish.

At around this same time, the boys began to get ready over at the historic Haig Point Lighthouse. Khaki suits + navy ties gave these guys the perfect Southern touch.

How to Mix & Match Patterns at Home

Bouquet Breakdown: Ethereal Lakeside Inspiration Filled with Seashells

When it comes to florals there is nothing (and I mean nothing) we love more than a handful of pastel petals. In fact, we love it so much that we’ve dedicated an entire section of The Vault to showcase just that, and today we’ve asked the highly talented BOTANY FLORAL STUDIO to break down what makes up a stunningly soft-hued posy. See it all below!

Ethereal Lakeside Inspiration Filled with Seashells

  • Spray roses
  • Juliet David Austin garden roses
  • Versilia roses
  • Cafe au Lait dahlias
  • Patience David Austin garden roses
  • Ranunculus
  • Pittosporum
  • Camellia branch
  • Blushing Bride protea
  • Pineapple mint
  • Mojito mint

From BOTANY FLORAL STUDIOFor this lake side styled shoot with Julia Park Photography, we were given a seashell colour palette as inspiration for the florals. A lovely surprise was this bouquet matching perfectly to the sunset sky as well. We were given complete freedom when creating this bouquet, so we included some of our favourite blooms and foliage. There’s nothing better than using flowers that we grew ourselves, so we were sure to include Cafe au Lait dahlias and the mint that we grow on our farm.

At Botany Floral Studio planning and designing flowers is our passion. We believe that wedding flowers should reflect our client’s personal style, so we create bespoke designs for each and every wedding. My personal philosophy on floral arranging is to keep it as natural and organic-inspired as possible; allowing each stem and flower their own space to bend and bloom.

We are dedicated to providing a healthy and beautiful alternative to traditional floristry, by hand-picking local and seasonal flower varieties. Our flowers are locally grown whenever possible, and always fresh and seasonal. We strive to be sustainable in our practices – treading lightly anyway we can.

#SMPWedding101 – Tips For a Great Hair + Makeup Trial Run

I had a terrible hair and makeup trial before my wedding. We’re talking tears as the updo literally fell apart and I wiped purple eyeshadow off my face. So you could say I know the importance of these run throughs all too well. And so does Megan Garmers, of MG Hair & Makeup. With her experience making brides look their best, she’s a pro from the very start when they walk in with their inspiration pics. So print these tips and save them; I promise you they’ll come in handy more than you know.

1. Photos Are Essential

Do gather pictures of looks you like, but also gather examples of things you do not like (this may include a prom picture of yourself). Understand that each picture doesn’t need to be an example of the entire look you want to try – it could just be the front of one style, the back of another, or the contoured look on one picture and the “too-contoured” look of another. Having more pictures than less allows your artist to see the spectrum of your desired look. It also helps give specific examples of what a “romantic updo and smokey eye” means to you because it may mean something different to your artist.

2. But Lower Those Picture Perfect Expectations

Don’t expect exactly what you see in your inspiration photos. Seeing the look on your head with your amount of hair are two different things. Remember that the model, celebrity or bride in the picture may be wearing extensions, may have a different hair type than yours (i.e. you have baby fine hair and she has thick coarse hair), and don’t forget that your head and face shape may be different as well. Your skin, eye color, and overall complexion may change the way you feel about that picture you loved with the smokey eye and nude lip. All of these factor into if the style will “look like it did in the picture”.

3. Try On Options

Do try more than one look if you are not sure what you want. The artists/stylist should agree to do more than one look for you if you choose. Choosing a hairstyle/makeup look that is more formal than your everyday look is a delicate process, and having the benefit of seeing variations or completely different looks on you is important so you don’t kill yourself with the “what if’s” before your wedding.

4. Take Trial Run Photos

Take pictures from the front, sides, and back – in natural light and with a flash if possible, and then write down on a piece of paper what you think about it when you look in the mirror. Then go on to style #2 and do the same thing. Your artist shouldn’t make you decide on the spot what style you want for your wedding day look (unless it is your wedding day that day!). Let the decision marinate a bit, look back at the pictures and at your notes. If there is someone who helps you make good decisions, make sure they are there at your trial run through to give you honest feedback. Pictures are great, but there is nothing like seeing it in person.

5. Speak Up!

Don’t be afraid to speak up. This is not the time to pull the “Yes, it’s fine” card that we’ve all pulled at a salon, got up and left, and then went home in tears. If you don’t like it, tell the stylist what you do like about it (if anything), and what you want to change. It’s okay if you change your mind about liking the style once you see it on you versus when you saw it in the picture. Just make sure you have some ideas of other things you want to try or suggestions/pictures of other types of looks you like. This will give your artist something to start with.

6. Schedule When Best For YOU

Do schedule your trial run through at the right time for you. There is no right or wrong time to schedule a trial run. If you are incorporating your mother’s veil or a specific headpiece into your hairstyle, make sure you have it for your trial run through as the hairstyle needs to be worked around it. If you are growing your hair out, make sure you wait until it is long enough or else the trial will be a waste of time and money.

7. But Not Last Minute

Don’t schedule your trial at the last minute if possible. Make sure that you schedule it well in advance so you can schedule out haircuts, color/highlights, etc. up until your wedding day. This way there’s no last-minute panic that your stylist is on vacation so you have to get in with someone else resulting in your hair being cut too short for your style, with too many layers, or the wrong color.

8. Professionalism Is Key

Do take the time to evaluate your confidence in your artist as a business, not just a person. Even the greatest makeup artist or hairstylist does you no good if he or she does not show up for your wedding day or leaves you in a bind by canceling close to your date.

9. Book Before It’s Too Late

Don’t put off booking your hair/makeup artist. This can leave you in a panic when you find out the artist you wanted is booked for your date. Generally you want to book between one year to six months in advance to make sure that you not only have someone for your wedding day but also so that if you have your trial run through and decide that artist/stylist is not for you, then you have enough time to search for another one.

10. Sign a Contract

Regardless of when you book your artist/stylist, you want to get a contract – your vendor for hair and makeup should be no different than your vendor for your flowers, caterer, venue, etc.

Hair + Makeup Advice: MG Hair & Makeup

Romantic Vineyard Engagement Session

After a fairy tale romance (read: high school sweethearts) and a movie-like proposal (one word: Italy), you knew these two sweeties would pull out all of the stops for their e-sesh planned to perfection by Weddings By Cortney Helaine. And guess what?  They nailed it. From the lush florals from Little Hill Floral Designs to the stunning images from Natalie Schutt.  Head to THE VAULT to soak them all in.

From The Bride… Weston and I first met in a middle school history class. I sat in front of him and remember him as being the shyest boy in the class…he remembers me as the life of the party…go figure! Our paths crossed again in High School when our best friends began dating…we quickly became inseparable, and eight years later the rest is history!

Weston proposed to me in the Cinque Terre in Rome, Italy. He had studied abroad there during his Sophomore year of college and had always promised me that we would go back together. After a LONG 15 hour flight (with the ring tucked away in his sock) we arrived and quickly headed out for our first Italian meal. Some backstory: I had NO IDEA that this was coming. Not even an inkling. In the months leading up to our trip many friends and family suspected that it was coming, and he insisted over and over again that he wanted it to be PERFECT, and that “now just isn’t the perfect time.” He insisted to me so adamantly that this would be a really special trip, but not for that reason. I completely believed him. So I was completely blown away when he got down on one knee in front of a beautiful Roman fountain in this breathtaking square in Rome. In fact, the first words out of my mouth were “NO WAY!”…I just couldn’t believe he pulled off such a surprise! My “No Way!” quickly turned into a thousand “Yesses!” and we spent the rest of the trip celebrating our engagement.

Our hope is that the feel of our wedding is a cross between vintage elegance and rustic charm. I grew up riding horses, and immediately fell in love with the fact that our venue has this breathtaking backdrop with gorgeous horses amidst old oak trees. What a dream come true.
