From Ana Lui PhotographyWhen Ibiza wedding designer, Cristina Di Giovanna of Le Jour Du Oui, called me saying she wants to shoot an inspiration session with me and she mentioned hand made macrame, pastels and aztec patterns I knew this shoot will be amazing. Combining sunning natural beauty of Ibiza and sourcing local collaborators was so fun! We have spoken with local designers, bakers, met few real life couples and looked for heart shaped cactuses in the fields of IBIZA. And when we shared the mood board with Kristin from Flowers Ibiza she jumped up with excitement, from that moment we knew we have THE perfect team on board! Floral design, ceremony arch and bouquet came out exactly how we have imagined it. Lovely Sharon from Cup Cake Collection Ibiza made an amazing cake for us to play with, our stationary was shipped from Italy same day of the shoot. Stunning dress hand made by Ylva Kailash fitted Tiana perfectly. It was windy like hell and everything was flying around but we pulled it off and got super lucy with the most amazing, moody, pinkish sky and light ever! I am so grateful to everyone who made this happen. I absolutely love working with Cristina and it feels very special each time you discover there are so many creative and cool people around your area. It’s just a matter of getting together and getting inspired. All images are shot on film (Fuji400H) developed and scanned by amazing Laura @ Carmencita Film Lab!

Spring Blooms We Can’t Stop Staring At

Attending a floral workshop is on my bucket list. I don’t claim to be a naturally talented designer by any means, but my passion for all things pretty and full of petals has no bounds. Take just one look through these pics by Corbin Gurkin and really, how can you resist? Captured at Flowerwild’s workshop, hosted by Easton Events at their Pippin Hill property that never fails to make my heart pitter patter, every single one of these images is frame-worthy. See them all in our Vault and good luck picking just one!

A Cottage Small on Space, and Big on Design Savvy

This insanely cute space is the home of Whitney Leigh Morris, the mastermind behind our favorite instagram feed, The Tiny Canal Cottage, and it proves square footage is but a number. Blending indoors and out, lots of light and greenery and a cozy, neutral color palette, Whitney crafted a So Cal sanctuary complete with an enchanted patio. See the full tour in the vault and shop Whitney’s must haves from Joss & Main right here.

We love your creative and abundant use of plants and greenery in your home. Tell us a little more about this design choice, and any tips you have for creatively incorporating plants as decor.

Plants instantly make a space feel alive, fresh and welcoming, and can transform a room of any size. Greenery is an easy way to regularly update the style of your home without hurting your wallet or the environment. I’ve had the same vases for years, yet they look different every week thanks to the greenery that goes in them. I began decorating with plants and clippings when I decided that I didn’t want to live a cluttered life. If possible, forego items like bookends and trinkets, and fill their place with plants. You’ll brighten your home and avoid accumulating excess belongings.

What are some design challenges of small-space living, and how did you overcome them?

• Strong Accent Pieces – Living in confined quarters can of course be tricky. While it might seem natural to buy small accessories and home goods when outfitting a tiny room, I’ve found that getting rid of clusters of little tchotchkes and replacing them with a single, medium-sized statement piece is usually much more visually appealing, and helps avoid clutter.
• Windows – We all know that small rooms can be feel bigger and brighter with the help of windows and mirrors. Be deliberate when choosing which windows to dress with blinds or curtains, as curtain rods and hangings can sometimes bring walls inward. We only have one set of curtains (over the French doors in the bedroom), and have left all other windows free of coverings.
• Versatility – Do you need an outdoor fire pit AND a grill if you only have a patio the size of a closet? Probably not. Try selecting double-duty furniture and accents (like this clever piece) throughout your home and garden that allow you to live fully with fewer belongings.

Where’s your favorite place to spend time in your home?

I love sitting on the stoop with Adam after work while the pups run around in the yard. Thanks to the twinkle lights, grapevines, bougainvillea and lanterns, it feels like our little secret garden.

Your patio has such an enchanted and welcoming feel to it. What are your must-have outdoor accessories?

• Cafe Strands – Twinkle lights are the simplest way to make an outdoor space look and feel magical.
• Greenery – I love overgrown trees, plants and vines. Outdoor walls covered in ivy or Creeping Fig can soften the appearance of city porches and patios.
• Hanging Accessories (Decorative & Functional) – Hang throw rugs, lanterns, serving trays, gardening tools, baskets and more to create a lived-in ambiance, while also keeping your outdoor necessities within reach.

After Months of Gardening + TLC, This At-Home Wedding Was a Dream Come True

Time to break out the bubbly, because this classic garden inspired affair is worth toasting to. For not only did this darling duo utilize the SAME local designer (unbeknownst to them) for their wedding day looks, but they also managed to keep said fact a secret until the day of. I mean – talk about styled soulmates! With Maria Lamb Photography behind the lens snapping up every moment of sentiment this is one gallery that we’re going to cherish for years to come. See it all in The Vault!

From The Bride…Our wedding was a dream. It was such an amazing feeling seeing everything come together exactly as we’d envisioned. Starting from scratch, hours of hard work and planning were put in – months of gardening, late nights assembling invitations, planning the menu, writing vows, choosing the music and countless other projects done by Egan, Amelia and their family and friends.

The ceremony was perfectly imperfect, laughter and tears all the way through and a surprise live performance of our favorite song organized by the Maid of Honor.

The reception was held at Amelia’s family home where she grew up, a dream her mother always had of a family wedding at the property. The skies opened up just as we all sat down to eat, but that didn’t stop us having our first dance in the rain, barefoot and carefree, and much to our surprise, all of our guests joining in too! We have never experienced such joy and elation as we did in that moment. It’s hard to describe how much love and emotion was felt on the day by everyone but it was something truly special that will never be forgotten. The guests stayed over in tipi’s spotted amongst the trees and the celebrations continued over the weekend with a bbq the following day before the couple disappeared off to Bali for ten days of absolute bliss.

Intimate Winter Wedding at NY’s Iconic Gramercy Park Hotel

Vintage glam with a romantic twist, this ridiculously stunning and intimate Gramercy Park Hotel wedding captured by none other than Christian Oth Studio is just New York City wedding perfection. With sweet personalized details and two of the most adorable dogs ever, this gallery of images is just as good as it gets. See even more in the VAULT.

From The Bride…Michael and I met eight years ago in New York City through a mutual friend. Though we dated long-distance for three years between London and New York City before we both finally called the Big Apple our home, it was our love for traveling and our two puppies that kept our spark alive. True to form, he proposed during our trip to Costa Rica and I immediately started our wedding planning!

From the moment we walked in, we knew Gramercy Park Hotel was going to be our wedding venue. In fact, it was the only venue we visited. We wanted a classic New York wedding that was glamorous and chic, yet intimate and cozy at the same time. The rooftop terrace at the GPH provided us with just that and more. From the candlelit lanterns that lined the terrace to the lush, green garden throughout to the fireplace in the light bulb room, it was a beautiful, stunning venue. Not to mention it had an amazing view of the Manhattan skyline as well as eclectic works of art (Damien Hearst, Andy Warhol), all of which set a romantic, yet playful tone for everyone. As food lovers, we were even more excited when we found out Union Square Hospitality, a Danny Meyer company, would be catering our event.

Given the venue, we knew vintage glam would be our theme but with a romantic twist. I chose a mermaid Vera Wang dress that had a stunning train and a beautiful jeweled sash to go along with it. My bridesmaid wore rose champagne sequined dresses that I found from Australia. My mom and I also decorated two birdcages for cards and well wishes with feathers and pearls. She’s also into figurines so she made two Hello Kitty bride and groom figurines. Table signs and escort cards also had tints of gold on them, which complemented well with my flowers of white, rose pink and gray.

Personalizing the details to our wedding was a lot of fun. My favorite was the inclusion of our dogs, Cuba and Harvey, in their tuxedos in the wedding photos and the walk down the aisle. They are such a huge part of our family and we love them so much! We even had a reading titled “How Falling in Love is Like Owning A Dog” by Taylor Mall.

As romantics, we also decided to choose to do a wine box ceremony, to help us remember the reasons why we got married by writing love letters to each other sealed in a special wine box. To honor my Chinese heritage, I also changed into a traditional red Qi Pao for dinner and my father/daughter dance. The day prior at the rehearsal dinner, we performed a Chinese tea ceremony at an Italian restaurant named Valbella in order to infuse and honor Michael’s and my culture together.

As wine lovers, we also brought in our favorite champagne and wines to accompany our wedding. In particular, one of the Bordeaux bottles (Calon Segur) had a label with a heart on it, which helped us symbolize our love on the day. Because of this, we incorporated the wooden wine case into the display during cocktail hour. And instead of a traditional wedding cake, we went with an ice cream cake from a local Brooklyn ice cream shop to reflect our love for Carvel when we were kids!

Finally, as a tribute to our travels, the tags to our wedding favors from Macaron Cafe were printed like passport stamps. Michael and I love to collect passport stamps from around the world.

In the end, it was a really magical day for us. For all the work brides put into making this day a perfect day, a great photographer is extremely important to help document this special moment. Jack Jeffries from Christian Oth Studio did a fantastic job for us, getting beautiful shots that looked editorial as if they were to be placed in a magazine. And no matter how much brides plan, there will be stress in the days leading up to and on the day of the wedding. Having a good on-site event manager and/or a month-of-wedding coordinator can help brides alleviate a lot of the stress. Kay from GPH and Kristin Beckler certainly did for me. After all, it’s the biggest day of most girls’ lives and brides should enjoy and remember every moment of it.

This Bride + Groom Arrived to Their Mountaintop Elopement in a Helicopter

Reason number 1,416 why you should hire a videographer for your wedding comes courtesy of this beautiful Bride and Groom: “Since most of our family and friends wouldn’t be able to attend, we agreed that having a beautiful video of our wedding day to share was a priority.” And thanks to Sunshine Weddings – Film & Photo, they got the video — and the wedding — of their dreams! See every magic moment from their special day now in The Vault!

From The Bride and Groom…Q: Tell us about yourselves. How did you meet? How did you get engaged?
A: (Jackson) Outside of my regular career in finance, I follow my lifelong passion for music. I met Maridith at a very old, very small church in Houston where I sang on Sundays. After many a hot summer Sunday catching each other for quick chats after the service, I finally asked her out. Several years and an overseas secondment later, I asked her to be my wife. Through her devoted love of travel, we have explored so many breathtaking parts of the world, and our wedding in Queenstown was definitely no exception.

Q: Tell us about any DIY or personal elements included in your wedding.
A: (Maridith) The gorgeous backdrop of Stoneridge Estate and Cecil Peak didn’t need much as far as decor, but with Jackson’s love of music, we had to include a little something special. By luck we found an amazing cellist, Tomas Hurnik, willing to travel from Christchurch for the day to play the most beautiful Bach suites. His music filled the tiny chapel and added the perfect personal touch to our ceremony.

Q. What did you envision your wedding being prior to planning?
A: (Maridith) While I’d always loved the idea of running away together, a destination wedding on the other side of the world wasn’t something Jackson (very much a traditionalist) had ever really considered. But once we started cultivating the idea of a “weddingmoon” to celebrate our marriage and his growing love for travel, it was full steam ahead! An intimate church ceremony, where we could both enjoy the day and really focus on the commitment we were making to each other was what we ultimately envisioned. Having lived for a while in Australia and always regretting not making it over to New Zealand, it didn’t take long to decide it would be the perfect place to begin married life and indulge in a honeymoon adventure.

Q: What was the inspiration behind the day?
A: (Maridith) In two words, relaxed and happy. We both wanted our wedding day to be one that we could look back on and remember all the little details and what we were feeling in those moments, creating a day that was relaxed leading up to the ceremony and that let every happy moment sink in. Having the amazing Minetta at The Wedding Company to organize all the vendors and details certainly helped to make that happen!

Q: Tell us about your choice of wedding location.
A: (Maridith & Jackson) That part was easy–once deciding on New Zealand as our destination, it essentially came down to “where do Melissa and Scott from Sunshine Wedding Films travel?” Since most of our family and friends wouldn’t be able to attend, we agreed that having a beautiful video of our wedding day to share was a priority. We came across Melissa and Scott’s films in researching elopement style weddings and fell absolutely in love with their work. From there, Queenstown and the magnificent views from The Chapel by the Lake at Stoneridge Estate was where we finally landed. Queenstown weather certainly delivered on the day, and we came back with a fantastic film and stunning photos that truly captured the best moments from the day.

Q: Tell us about your flowers, your gown etc.
A: (Maridith) I had the most gorgeous bridal bouquet done by Sarah at The Flower Room, Queenstown. The pale pink peonies mixed with peach roses and freesia were perfection. She also did my lovely bridesmaid Claire’s bouquet and a precious halo for her sweet daughter and our flower girl, Chloé. My dress was actually a round two selection! Breaking the cardinal rule of wedding dresses, I fell in love with another Tadashi Shoji dress after purchasing the first. The delicate lace and keyhole back of the second were exactly what I’d envisioned.

Q: Favourite memories of the day.
A: (Maridith & Jackson) We had so many memorable moments from the day! One of our favorite memories was getting to celebrate with a dozen friends who literally traveled to the ends of the earth to support and celebrate with us. We’re eternally grateful. The heli ride to Cecil Peak with pristine views of Lake Wakatipu after our ceremony is definitely another moment we’ll always cherish.

This Bride Works for Prada, and Her Custom-Designed Dress is BEYOND

As a wedding blogger, sometimes I feel like I’ve seen it all. But then a day like this comes along, and I’m left awed and inspired like never before. It takes passionate vendors like AE Creative to pull off a destination wedding in remote Oregon, all while bringing a salvaged barn back to life. And while I could go on forever about the rustic design moments, or the sweeping countryside views, my favorite element comes down to the two-piece dress designed for the bride exclusively by Prada. It’s an absolute work of art, and you can see so much more in the gallery by Marina Koslow.

From AE Creative… This wedding was a passion project for all involved! Pulling this wedding off meant installing electrical and a floor in the 100+ year old salvaged barn and requesting that guests fly over 2,000 miles, rent a car, then drive 3 more hours to a small town with under 2,000 residents all for this amazing destination Oregon wedding. The sheep farm and property belongs to the groom and his family. They have been coming to Oregon for many many years and spending summers here. When the groom, Tim, first brought Lily to the property he promised her that the getting there part would be hard, but once there it would be worth it. When Lily first saw the property she agreed, and jokingly requested that they never go home. Come an engagement and the two couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else. They wanted to share this special place with all of their New York (and beyond) family and friends.

This wedding took a lot of planning and creativity to pull off. A water truck and bathrooms were brought in, a sink installed for the catering staff, and even putting the DJ in the barn loft! With all of the logistic planning really there was no detail overlooked. Each vendor had to drive between 100-200 miles to get there. Special details romanced the property and made the day extra special. Tim, the groom, flew out an extra week early to prep, which included building the houpa and ceremony benches, spray painting the ranch symbol for road signs and organizing shuttles to transport guests from their lodging to the venue. In addition to this, the dinner menu included lamb, right from the property. Tim also bought salmon in Alaska and provided the caterers with the salmon as well.

I designed the invites to fit their theme and style and also incorporated this look to their welcome tote bags, which included several Oregon based goodies and literature. Their escort cards were mole-skin type small notebooks with each guest’s name written in modern calligraphy. Wrapped around the notebooks was “a love so write” as a nod to Tim’s profession as a writer. The place cards were feather crayons with each guests’ name written elegantly. The dinner napkins, keeping with the theme, were folded like envelopes.

All of the flowers were arranged by Lily’s mother. She flew into Portland and stopped at the flower market the week of the wedding before driving the 3 additional hours south. She is a retired florist so she knew what she was doing. Everything turned out beautiful!

Lily’s dress was designed exclusively for her by Prada. I’m sure it helps that Lily works for Prada and has some serious connections! It was a two piece dress made from the softest material I’ve ever felt and fit her like a glove. This special day took a team to pull off but is one of the most memorable and special events I’ve been a part of. Truly a passion project!

From The Bride…I met my future husband, Brandon, my freshman year of college at a small university in sunny Orange County, California. I remember meeting him for the first time in the dorm rooms and thought he was pretty darn cute and had a great laugh (a real loud cackle actually, but it was endearing). We both were playing collegiate soccer and I happened to live right above him in the dorms. A friendship started between us that eventually led to us dating all throughout college. Since Brandon was from Oregon and I lived not far from the university, we decided to date long distance after graduation. After a few years of back and forth visits, Brandon asked me to start a new adventure with him and move to Portland, Oregon. I couldn’t have been more excited (and nervous) to move, but knew this was going to be a very exciting new chapter in our lives. Brandon was right; moving to Oregon was definitely one huge adventure! He loved taking me on trips to the Oregon coast, hikes at Silver Creek Falls, and skiing at Mount Hood. After about a year of being settled in my new home, Brandon took me on a hike to Multnomah Falls on the Columbia River Gorge. At the very top of the hike he got down on one knee and asked me to be his forever. I was ecstatic, shaking, freaking out, but of course said yes! I couldn’t wait to be his wife.

When we started planning our wedding we envisioned an outdoor venue that had a slight rustic feel. We loved the idea of creating a ‘romantic garden retreat’, so we were smitten when we found The Long Farm Barn, an adorable outdoor venue just outside of Portland. It had all the elements we wanted; a lush garden, 1900 restored barn, breathtaking views and three gorgeous horses to top it off. Our wedding color palette was a mix of soft blush tones with accents of Marsala. Flowers were really important to me, being a wedding florist myself, so we chose a lush mix of white hydrangea, garden roses, cream and lavender spray roses and burgundy and café au lait dahlias (to name a few). To create that quaint garden retreat feeling we did not skimp out on the details! There were lush green garlands at every turn, beautiful vintage rentals all throughout our venue, stylish freehand chalkboard signs, café-strung lights, and lots of blush and cream lace. We were married outside under a breathtaking arbor dripping in greens and floral with all our family and friends to witness. It was the most incredible feeling to walk down the aisle with my dad in hand and see my future husband waiting for me with a huge smile on his face.

Our reception was one of my favorite parts of the day. To see all the styling and planning come together was such a wonderful feeling. Much of the credit goes to all our amazing vendors, but also to my family and friends who worked tirelessly on all the little details I had dreamt up in my head. Some of my favorite reception details were our escort bud vases, kissing bell wands, and honey jar favors (which were made by my sister and brother-in-law’s own bee hive!)

After enjoying our al fresco style dinner while listening to heart-warming speeches we headed inside the barn for cake cutting and dancing. Brandon and I first danced to ‘Can’t take my eyes off you’ by Frankie Valli, which reflected our sweet, light hearted spirits and adoration for each other. The rest of the night was filled with lots of dancing, endless photo booth photos and a sparkler send off. It was such a magical and romantic day filled with so much laughter, love and pure joy.

Rose Quartz + Serenity-Filled Texas Winery Bridal Inspiration

It’s no secret — we’re pretty in love with Pantone’s 2016 colors of the year: Rose Quartz and Serenity. And, we’re not the only ones. Using the rosy pink and pretty purple as inspiration, Chic Fleur Weddings And Events and Something Pretty Floral created a soft and dreamy wedding inspiration at Texas’ Grape Creek Vineyards. Head to The Vault for all the pretty inspiration thanks to photos from Tenth And Grace!

From Chic Fleur Weddings And EventsTexas has an up-and-coming wine industry, and the beautiful wineries throughout Texas Hill Country are a popular spot for weddings and special events. This inspiration shoot was designed to showcase the beauty of Texas wineries at a time of a year that is typically considered a slower season for weddings. Winter in this part of Texas is mild, and the landscape remains green – this beautiful landscape shows that you don’t have to get married in Tuscany or Napa to enjoy a winery wedding, even in fall or winter. Designed by Chic Fleur Weddings & Events, this shoot combined the beauty of a local Texas winery with the new Pantone colors of the year, Rose Quartz and Serenity. Something Pretty Floral used these popular colors as inspiration for lush floral arrangements that complemented the pastel colors of the Texas landscape, while the Styling Stewardess kept the makeup soft and neutral as a reflection of Pantone’s Rose Quartz. We hope this shoot will serve as inspiration for brides considering a winery wedding in Texas, or those who want to incorporate the colors of the year in a beautiful and timeless way.

10 Ways to Tell If You’re Becoming a Bridezilla

Let’s be real – the stress of wedding planning can turn even the most calm and grounded of people into a not-so-lovely version of themselves. Between budgeting and decision making and well, planning the biggest day of your life, emotions run high, but fear not. We’re sharing 10 little ways to check yourself before you wreck yourself, and ditch the title of “bridezilla”.

1. You find yourself snapping at the people you love most.

Stress can bring out anyone’s ugly side, but make sure you find productive ways to relax and recharge instead of unloading on those around you.

2. You care more about the seating chart than your soon-to-be husband.

We know the planning details can become seemingly overwhelming, but try to keep your perspective in check.

3. You obsess over finding the absolute perfect shade of rose quartz. Not pink, not blush – rose quartz.

Take a breather – any shade of pink is pretty, at least in our book.

4. You treat your bridesmaids like employees, not friends.

You might have final say on the bridesmaids’ dress or have a list of duties for them to complete, but make sure your girls feel entirely loved and appreciated through the entire planning process.

5. When it comes to the wedding, money is no object. Ever.

If your wedding dreams are causing serious financial strain, take a step back and talk it out.

6. You don’t involve your groom in the planning process.

He might not be as interested or invested in the planning details as you are, but remember it’s his Big Day too. Include him, listen to him, and value his opinion.

7. A good night’s sleep has become a distant memory.

It’s a fact: no sleep = stress. And stress = potential bridezilla territory.

8. Pinterest is the only site in your browser history.

You know we love Pinterest in a serious way, but there’s also a time to unwind and Step. Away. From. The. Laptop.

9. You have every vendor on speed-dial.

You hired your vendor crew for a reason. While it’s completely reasonable to keep in contact, also remember to trust their vision and give them some creative freedom. They’re wedding professionals, after all.

10. Special moments turn into meltdowns.

We totally get that wedding planning isn’t always a walk in the park, but if every highlight is ending in an ugly cry, it’s time to reevaluate.

This Bride Found All of Her Vendors on Social Media

There’s no way around it, there is something special about Montenegro. Maybe it’s the stunning views? Or the lush landscape? Or perhaps even, the amazing weather. Whatever the reason may be, all we know is that every single affair from this beautiful destination truly captivates. Take this effortlessly elegant celebration from Ksenia Milushkina as proof. And would you believe me if I told you this beautiful Bride found all of her wedding vendors via social media? Yeah, we’re impressed. See it all in The Vault!

From the Bride… Several months we looked for the country where we wanted to get married – Island, Las-Vegas, Greece and finally, Montenegro with its beautiful mountains and sea views. While we planned our wedding we focused on details. I believe in energy of details made with love. I believe that accents and details help to create the magnificent atmosphere. In addition I also found my vendors by social networks, on fair masters. Everyone I’ve met was inspired by my idea of the wedding. I met new creative people who made for us the invitations, boxes for guests, dresses for our little guests, jewellery, my peignoir and other things. Concerning the wedding style we wanted to bring some vintage because I’m in love with dusty colors and antiques. Our main colors became grey and deep blue, soft peach and pale pink.

From Zev FisherTara & Evan had a classy celebration on the beautiful Goat Island in Newport, Rhode Island. Despite the cold December breeze, they were still open to taking portraits outdoors, taking advantage of that gorgeous evening light. Golden Gate Studios really spruced up the evening with stunning white flower arrangements maintaining that bright and clean feeling throughout. The reception was kicked off by their first dance amid falling snow and they danced the night away to tunes played by Boss.

From The Bride…Our entire relationship has been in New York, this is where we met, dated and fell in love, but our hearts have always been in New England. When we got engaged in front of the lighthouse at Castle Hill Inn in Newport, Rhode Island, we knew that Newport would be the perfect place for our destination wedding. We both wanted to find that special place, on the water, and driving over the Newport bridge is just magical. While Newport is generally known for being a summer destination, we decided we wanted to do something different and host a unique event. After seeing the Belle Mer, with its all white, classic and modern design, we fell in love with the idea of a winter wedding. We envisioned a December black tie affair, with all white and silver decor, white flowers, crystallized branches, snowflakes and blue icy lighting. One of the most memorable moments of the evening was our first dance as a married couple which took place under falling snow. The bride’s lace and organza mermaid gown, along with the groom’s wardrobe change, from a classic black tuxedo into a custom white tuxedo jacket, added to the glamour and romance. Photographer Zev Fisher’s editorial and elegant style perfectly captured the dramatic, elegant and classy affair we imagined. The bride truly felt like a princess in a winter wonderland.

Lovely Laguna Beach Engagement Session

We adore a variety of styles around these parts, but we’d be lying if we didn’t admit to a few factors that speak to our hearts a bit more than others – and with the blush dresses, barefeet and peony bouquet, this engagement shoot is pure SMP. Honey Honey Photography captured all the beauty at Laguna Beach and with these images, our Vault continues to shine brighter and brightermore this way!

From Honey Honey PhotographyKristopher and Ashley met and fell in love in San Francisco. At the time, Kristopher was beginning his first year of law school and Ashley was working as an intern for a digital marketing agency. They met by chance, when a mutual friend invited them both to dinner, in what turned out to be a surprise double date. Ashley’s internship ended that day and she was only a few short hours away from flying back home to New York. She was reluctant to go out on her final day in San Francisco, but realizes now it was the best decision she ever made. After a night of laughter and endless conversation, Kristopher made sure they didn’t lose touch. The two messaged back and forth for a few months, before she received a job offer in San Francisco and decided to move back to the Bay Area.

Kristopher proposed to Ashley along the Ewoldsen Trail in Big Sur, CA. Two and a half years of unforgettable smiles and laughter brought him to this day. After hiking uphill for over an hour, the trees began to clear and an incredible view of the ocean appeared. Kristopher leaned in and asked her to close her eyes. He pulled out a purple, plastic cupcake ring. Several weeks prior, she recalled a troubling dream where he proposed with a giant purple ring. Tears welled up in her eyes as he slowly slid the ill-fitting ring on her finger. She quickly realized the ring was nothing more than a less-than-subtle reference to her horrible dream. She began laughing but indistinguishably crying, and wasn’t sure if he was about to propose. Sure enough, Kristopher quickly got down on one knee, pulled out a beautiful ring, and asked to spend the rest of their lives together. Almost a year later, they couldn’t be more excited for their upcoming wedding day!

From the Couple… We knew we wanted our engagement session to be at Crescent Bay in Laguna Beach, CA. Kristopher is an avid surfer, and we would spend a lot of time there in the summer. As soon as we saw Emma’s photographs, we knew her organic, elegant style was the perfect fit. We are beyond pleased with how the pictures turned out and can’t wait to display them in our new home!

Personalizing Your Party Venue is as Easy as these 4 Steps

In the land of party hosting, restaurants are often a key ingredient but personalizing the space and making sure it fits perfectly with your vision of the day can be tough. Mandy Forlenza Sticos is saving all you party-away-from-home throwers with easy tricks to pulling off a shindig that feels like you’re in your very own living room. Just with better food and larger surroundings. See the full shower captured by Marietta Leung right here! Find even more party inspiration this way.

I was so excited to plan a lunch for friends and family to celebrate the impending arrival of my little boy! My mother and I selected a neighborhood favorite, MP Taverna, which is known for it’s modern Greek American fare from Chef Michael Psilakis. It was the perfect mix for my husband’s Greek family, my Italian family and mix of friends.

Being an event stylist and owner of a wedding based company (Little Vintage Rentals) I had an exact vision of the type of atmosphere that felt like “me”. Simple, understated and definitely no blue balloons or streamers. I focused on a neutral color palette and worked with my friend and favorite florist, Jackie from Hello Darlington, to create some magical tablescapes. She even made greenery halos for the light fixtures even better than I’d imagined!

The day would not have been complete without beautiful brushstroke calligraphy name cards and signage from my friend Juliana of Ink and Nibs and delicate linen tea towel favors for guests from my all time favorite, Lost in Linen. The lunch was a lovely and relaxed gathering of friends and family all waiting to meet our little one!
