The Sweetest Bayside Wedding, Ever!

When it comes to weddings that completely captivate, Beau & Emaline’s celebration takes the cake. For their bayside affair is totally romantic, truly classic, and of course complete perfection. From the bride’s lace capped gown, to their sweet church ceremony, Jessica Lorren Photography has captured it all to share and we’ve got it waiting for you in The Vault!

From Jessica Lorren PhotographyBeau & Emaline’s wedding on the bay in Southern Alabama felt like a step back in time. Every detail of their day was a classic representation of a timeless love. I hope you feel it as you glance through these images. From the Bride… We felt it was important that the vibe reflect who we are, and emulate the most sincere expression of our love. We decided on a style that we would describe as “comfortable elegance”–something that I think our vendors really perfected. We were married on October 17, 2015, at Sacred Heart Chapel, a historic 19th- century chapel on the bluff of Mobile Bay. The reception followed at my parent’s home, also along the bay. We wanted our guests to enjoy themselves in the most sincere, natural setting – our backyard. It was important to us to include these special nods to our lives (like my childhood home, nontraditional wedding music, exiting by boat, and many other personal touches. We were adamant that our wedding should not only celebrate our lives together, but the things that created us into the person that each other fell in love with.

College Sweethearts Say I Do with This Ultra Glam Clear Tented Wedding

When these two SMU grads met for the first time, little did they know that years later, after proclaiming “yes” on those same college fields, they’d be saying “I do” with this uber chic and stylish celebration. With never-ending florals by Bella Flora of Dallas and modern pieces from Bella Acento, it’s a Texas wedding taken up several glam notches. Sarah Kate captured it all for our Vault – see it this way!

From the Bride… I met Esteban at SMU in 2007. I was a Freshmen and he was a Sophomore. Esteban played for the SMU Men’s Soccer Team, and one of my very best friends that I met my Freshmen year (who was also one of my beautiful bridesmaids) played for the SMU Women’s Soccer Team. We were introduced by her in front of Dallas Hall on SMU’s campus in between classes one day – and we immediately had a special connection. He asked me out several times throughout that first year, but I continually said no. Whoops! Along came my Sophomore year, and Esteban and I were in several classes together. He made it a point to find a seat near me every single day. We didn’t end up dating or hanging out until the end of my Sophomore year at SMU (almost a year later) after I finally said YES to a library date. Little did I know seven years down the road, Esteban would be getting down on one knee to propose to me in front of Dallas Hall, the very place we first met. It was one of the most special days of my life. We always laugh because we had so many times in our lives where our paths could have crossed, ie. mutual friends, or both playing competitive soccer in Dallas…. But they never did. I guess Dallas Hall was the place where we were meant to meet and I’m so very happy we did!

Since Esteban and I were both Dallas born and raised it only seemed fitting that we get married at one of our most favorite places in Dallas, Arlington Hall. There is something so magical and classic about this venue. Our day was absolutely perfect – blue skies, not a cloud in the sky, and perfect temperature for a Dallas March wedding. Not sure how we got so lucky! But more importantly we had all of our loved ones there to celebrate with us – and lets just say all of our loved ones are a REALLY good time. Esteban and I both love the outdoors and had always envisioned getting married outside. I am also a lover for interior design and color so I wanted something that felt like you were at someone’s home. Everything from the clear dinner tent with the twinkly lights and chandelier above, to the amazing sit down dinner, to the gorgeous flowers covering the whole venue to the beautiful furniture and dining tables was out of this world. We felt like we were living in a Restoration Hardware ad/show room…. but better! Esteban and I are also big dance floor fanatics. We love getting down to awesome music. Jordan Kahn went above and beyond. It was honestly difficult to get everyone off the dance floor after the night had concluded. It was a dream come true. If I had to describe our day in one word it would be “MAGICAL”. It truly was one of the most amazing, breathtaking and beautiful days of our lives. It will be a day that we will cherish forever and always!

Give Your Front Door the Prettiest Fall Makeover with this Easy DIY

Your front door is begging for this pretty wreath. Seriously, it told us. And the best part of this seasonal revamp is it’s 100% DIY. Bare Root Flora is breaking down the basics for a lovely way to Fall-ify your home and it all starts with this feather-infused grand entrance. Get the how-to shot by Tamara Gruner Photography below. Psst… more ways to celebrate Fall right this way.

Like so many others, I find myself irresistibly drawn to the autumn. I’m not sure if it’s the light, or the smells, or the colors and textures, or maybe it’s just the apple cider donuts. But whatever it is, and it’s probably all those things, this bittersweet season—full of endings in so many ways—is the time of year I most look forward to. To celebrate the gorgeous, textural botanical elements fall gives us, I decided to create a number of beautiful fall wreaths and capture the process through the eye of my dear friend and amazing photographer Tamara Gruner.

I created my wreaths using a mix of beautiful dried (and even a few silk flowers), artichokes, pomegranates, tapioca wood flowers, bittersweet vine, nigella and lotus pods, dried grasses, fall leaves and pheasant feathers, but the beauty of this kind of wreath is that there are so many ways to make it your own. My own front door is sheltered but if you want something that will stand up to more direct exposure to the elements, I’d recommend using silks—there are some incredibly beautiful and realistic ones out there.

Materials

A wreath form — I used Victorian birch, but grapevine is a wonderful option as well
Dried pods, berries, grasses, flowers, feathers—anything with beautiful, varying textures
Hot glue pan and glue
Small zip ties
Ribbon or wreath hanger

instructions

To begin, lay out your wreath form. Choose how you want to position your wreath—there may be a side or orientation you like best and want to incorporate into your design. Here, I wanted a little extra color and movement in the wreath form so I added some bittersweet vine, one of my fall favorites, into the wreath using tiny zip ties. (Choose a color of zip tie like brown or dark green and once you trim the ends, they’ll blend right into your wreath form.)

If this is your first wreath, I’d recommend planning out your design by laying out all the elements first, before committing to the permanence of hot glue! After zip tying on my vines, I started by placing my larger, more focal items on my wreath, here, my artichokes, lotus pods and pomegranates.

Because I like asymmetry, I like to cover only a segment of my wreath, leaving some negative space for the eye to rest. After I placed my larger items, I laid out the flowers I used to create my base layer. I happened to find some gorgeous silk hydrangea that I loved but I also used some dried hydrangea florets as well.

Then, because depth is such an important part of a beautiful wreath, you’ll want to begin to layer in some of your smaller textural items. Here I used nigella pods, wheat and dried grasses. To accentuate the line of the birch branches, I also tucked in some gorgeous pheasant feathers, which feel quintessentially autumnal to me. Remember to create depth by layering items, and by varying the placement of your botanicals.

You’ll want your wreath to be beautiful from every angle that it’s viewed, so place some items deep inside the frame of the wreath, some on top, and some on the outside frame of the wreath form.

Once you’ve laid out all your elements, take a photo so you can recreate your design as you begin to glue all these elements. You can certainly glue as you go, but I find I like to have a visual plan in place, at least in the beginning!

After securing all your botanical elements with hot glue, hang your wreath with a gorgeous ribbon. Then, I find it helpful to sit down with a plate of apple cider donuts to really enjoy the fruits of my labor!

From the Bride… Being an artist and designer myself I had a clear vision for the esthetic design of the wedding that all evolved from a beautiful Marie Antoinette inspired greeting card designed by the artist Paulette Kinney. Years before my wedding was even a glimmer on the horizon I happened across this enchanting gilded greeting card on Etsy and instantly fell in love with the whimsy and beauty of the design. Years later, soon after I was engaged, Paulette was the very first vendor I contacted to commission her to rework the design into a custom wedding monogram and entire wedding paperie suite. This image became the cornerstone of the visual esthetic of the event and was laced throughout the entire look of the day becoming the single most standout element branding our wedding. The custom baroque and pink rose encrusted crest was hand painted on a custom runner in the church, used on the favor boxes and escort cards, as well as hand painted on the most prominent tier of our wedding cake. The single most stunning use of this image was the large-scale reproduction that was printed on a 33’x15’ custom dance floor wrap. This piece was an absolute showstopper for guests when they entered the ballroom. The colors also complimented the overhead sky mural so wonderfully that the two looked as if they were made for each other. Having this one piece of inspiration to generate all of my ideas from made choosing the other elements in the room a breeze, including the vintage crystal napkin rings, dupioni silk blush pink napkins and the divinely light and airy ruffled table linens from La Tavola.

My something old was my great grandmother’s handkerchief given to me by my grandmother, as well as a vintage six pence coin presented to me by my mother and 4 sisters. We observed the age-old tradition of placing a six pence coin in the bride’s shoe to wish her prosperity, love and happiness in her marriage. Something borrowed was a crystal and silver rosary acquired by my sister and maid of honor, Alana, during her studies abroad in Italy. It was purchased at vintage shop in Rome, and blessed by Pope Benedict XVI during a mass she attended at the Vatican. On my wedding day it was wrapped around the stem of my bouquet as I walked down the aisle. If Jesse and I are blessed with a daughter one day this same rosary will be gifted to her from Alana on her first holy communion. Since the accent color for my wedding was pale aqua blue, my something blue was a custom made aqua silk tulle crystal beaded garter. Finally my something new was a gorgeous Alencon lace cathedral length mantilla veil designed by Homa, which I absolutely fell in love with the moment I tried it on and was purchased by my mother. Hopefully this beautiful heirloom quality piece can also be passed down for generations to come.

The Ceremony was held at a church in Brooklyn Jesse grew up attending as young boy. He spent many Sundays there as an alter boy and we both quickly agreed it would be a sweet sentiment knowing the same aisle he walked down as a young boy on many a Sundays was the same aisle he would be walking down as an adult on our wedding day. A Custom aisle runner was hand painted with the monogram crest from our wedding invitations, and gorgeous letterpress wedding programs were custom designed by the talented Barbara Stanaitis of Bella Baroque Studio.

Jesse and I love historic locales. On many weekends during the fall and winter you can find us traveling to quaint New England towns in search of historic landmarks, mansions, or homes to explore. We definitely knew we both wanted to get married in a historic space. We visited every historic locale within an hour of NYC, from the sprawling grounds of Oheka Castle, to the baroque ballroom of Sleepy Hollow Country, to the stonewalls of Hempstead house in Long Island. Each one was beautiful in its own rite but not the right fit for us. Disappointed Jesse and I felt like we had left no stone unturned and were about to settle on one of the many properties we had already visited, until my sister and maid of honor Alana recommended we look at the ballroom on the top floor of the famous St. Regis Hotel in NYC. Given that she is my sister and knows my absolute love of baroque details she knew it was the place. One quick Internet search later and I knew I had found the one! Jesse and I quickly booked an appointment with the catering manager to view the space. Between the expansive views of Fifth Avenue and Central Park, the elegant details of the gilded ballroom, sparkling baroque chandeliers, and pale aqua sky mural painted on the ceiling, we knew it was the perfect locale for our classic New York affair. The bygone era esthetic of the space was the perfect backdrop for the Marie Antoinette inspired design ideas I had for the rest of the wedding. The ballroom was also the perfect size for our 160+ head count, and offered us a space that was big enough for all our guests to enjoy dinner and dancing comfortably, yet small enough that the party still felt intimate and romantic. I’m definitely not a bride who likes the feel of large sprawling event venues or halls and this event space was completely the opposite.

Some of my favorite moments of the day captured by Clary Pfeiffer were the photos taken of Jesse and myself when we were first able to view the ballroom before our guests. I had spent countless months and many late nights agonizing over all of the details of this room, and when I saw it for the first time I felt like I had entered into a dream world filled with all of my favorite things. I remember in this moment twirling around in the center of the dance floor staring up at the glittering chandeliers, admiring the overwhelmingly gorgeous rendition of our monogram on the dance floor and basking in the warm glow of the candlelight emanating from the candelabras, and saying to Jesse and Marie Danielle “Can I live here!” It was nothing short of breathtaking.

The Barn Wedding Given a Completely Modern Look

You KNOW we love barn weddings, but this particular celebration is quite unlike the typical day that comes to mind. Washed in a sea of white + gray with gold accents and elegant draping, it brings a fresh, modern vibe to the farm table without a speck of burlap or single mason jar in sight. TOAST Santa Barbara designed the florals, Michelle Beller photographed, and there’s much more this way.

From the Bride… What happens when a TV Producer and a Lawyer walk into a bar? Well, they get married… We met in 2011 at a bar in Santa Monica, CA. Every Wednesday, the bar has Trivia Night and every Wednesday, Wayne and his team (Sacred Guardians of the Trivia Temple), and my team and I (Donna Martin Graduates) would go and compete. It is at that bar, on a Wednesday night that they met, and have been together ever since.

Trivia/games, friends, and travel are 3 things that have always encapsulated us as a couple. So we wanted to encompass those 3 things during our wedding day. We decided to have our wedding in Solvang, California because one of our first dates was in Santa Barbara. We are both from the East Coast, so we wanted our friends and family to feel the magic of Wine Country, and also wanted our Los Angeles friends to have a “stay-cation.” It was a wonderful place, because the town is so quaint, that we took over 2 hotels in the town, so everyone got to know each other very well before the wedding even began.

Because getting to Solvang is a long drive from Los Angles (nevermind flying in from around the country) it was important to us to make the trek worthwhile for everyone involved. We didn’t want our friends & family to feel like just “guests” at our wedding. Personalizing the ceremony, the reception and everything in between was our goal. My Best Friend officiated the wedding, Wayne’s Brother sang and played the guitar to their first song, the Candy Bar and bags were done by my mom, Candy. One thing we were really excited about, was the place cards, we put nicknames/private jokes on each card so everyone had to guess which one was theirs, and that was a big hit. In addition to the cards, our ceremony program was a booklet that included trivia of the bridal party, the groomsmen wore socks that matched their personality, and games like bacci ball & beer pong was definitely a crowd pleaser. We wanted each person to know how important it was that they were there, but how important they were in our lives.

Our wedding was one of the best days of our lives, and absolutely one of the most fun, but the beauty of the day didn’t just come from the gorgeous flowers and scenic views, but from the love that was so strong, it almost blew us away.

So, what happens when a TV Producer & a Lawyer walk into a bar? The answer is pure bliss (well, let’s talk after we have kids) ;)

From Jesse TombsTwo affluent young 70’s Parisians, with a family home in Burgandy, take over the Chateau De Varennes while their parents are on holiday in Morocco. I wanted the look to feel young, exuberant, fresh, ethnic inspired and lux. There is so much white and cream and pink in the wedding industry so I challenged myself to push the boundaries of color and work with colors that I hadn’t used before.

The mustard color of the dinning table linens was inspired by the location of Burgundy, which is a huge exporter of mustard from Dijon, a nearby region in France. La Tavola Linens provided us with beautiful velvet linens and table runners that were made for their new 2016 collection, they were the first time they had been used in fact. We mixed wooden and silver flatware with brightly colored raw linen napkins to add texture and depth to the design. Place cards at each place setting we created by the talented Yonder Design based in San Francisco. Olive colored cow hide was used and paired with acrylic tortoiseshell and then etched with each guests name. The combination reads current, but individually these pieces are so 70’s inspired, but somehow it all works together.

Holly Flora a LA based floral designer worked with us to create juicy, bright almost edible looking blooms. The colors added a cheerfulness that could not be added from any other element. Her garden inspired blooms look freshly ripped out of the Chateau De Varennes gardens, casually elegant, while not trying to hard to be perfect. The invitation suite, also by Yonder Design is modern, textured and sharp.

How To Master Your First Dinner Party Together

Throwing that first dinner party as newlyweds?  Sort of a right of passage.  But for all of you lovelies with skills that are more “take out” than “Giada” (shh… we won’t tell), we’ve teamed up with OXO for a how-to on hosting that perfect, stress-free soiree. From bar to bites, we’ve got you totally covered.  Get those invites ready and scroll below to entertain your hearts out.

SIMPLIFY THE BAR MENU

I probably don’t need to point out that every party needs a few amazing cocktails, but just in case… Yes, yes it does.  So if you are wondering how to turn yourself into the Mixologist of the Century, we have some recommendations.  First, choose one or two specialty drinks that represent you + your love (think Cosmopolitans as an ode to that first date in NYC or Vodka Lemonades for all of those summers spent relaxing on the beach) then mix it up with a white and red wine option for all of your guests that prefer vino. Next, keep some fab bar tools on hand, like OXO’s SteeL Cocktail Shaker and OXO’s SteeL Vertical Lever Corkscrew that will totally help you master the art of the yummy drink.  And finally, grab a glass of cold white from OXO’s SteeL Wine Chiller (another must in our kitchens), kick your feet up and soak in the admiration from all of your impressed guests.

[dotted]

MAKE MINIATURE APPETIZERS & DESSERTS

Sometimes planning that menu can be a tad bit overwhelming (trust us, we’ve sooo been there), but you can definitely de-stress by adding just a few miniature appetizers and desserts to the lineup and using a really, really good pan like OXO’s Half Sheet Jelly Roll Pan. (Fab bakeware makes all the difference.) Think bacon wrapped dates, spinach quiches and creole salmon cakes for a tasty welcome, then tackle those mini pies, cookies and chocolate peanut butter bites like it’s no one’s business. You know, so you can totally wow your friends.

[dotted]

SERVE UP THE COFFEE

Guys, no dinner party is complete without a good cup of jo, and you most definitely need to do your research when it comes to brewing up the best.  We’re totally on board with OXO’s Barista Brain 9-Cup Coffee Maker, a pot known for its ultra-cool look (hello, LED interface) and hand-crafted feel.  But honestly? Along with OXO’s Burr Grinder, you can easily grind and brew a GREAT cup of coffee. (Trust us.) So whether you plan on adding a little libation or drinking it black, give your guests a little extra treat while they sit back and relax for that nightcap.

[dotted]

DON’T STRESS ABOUT LUNCH OR DINNER THE NEXT DAY

If we’re being honest, dinner parties are ah-mazing, but laying on the couch in our yoga pants munching on leftovers? Just as good.  We always, always have an awesome storage set on hand, like OXO’s 8 Piece Bake, Serve & Store Set, which makes airtight storage in the refrigerator or freezer a breeze. The dishes can also go directly from the freezer to the oven, so there’s no need to thaw if you’re in a hurry to heat those extras for dinner. Not to mention that clean-up is oh-so-easy. I mean, who can argue with that?

Colorful Garden Wedding at a Charming Inn

You’d be hard-pressed to find a couple as ridiculously cute as Michael and Marina. They planned a summertime garden wedding, rich with meaningful details and a ceremony anchored in tradition. New Vintage Media captured the day and you can see the gallery right here and the film below!

New Vintage Media… Michael and Marina’s wedding was an absolute joy to photograph. These two unlikely soulmates met through a mutual friend and Michael was immediately won over by Marina’s charm, wit and no-nonsense personality. Marina, on the other hand, took some time to come around and was finally won over by Michael’s genuinely sweet heart and never looked back. The two of them are a pair for a lifetime.

Their wedding day began with the details and preparations laid out perfectly: stationary was arranged, flowers were assembled, and the bridesmaids in their beautiful kimonos were ready to see the bride walking down the stairs for the first time. In her modest but stunning off-the-shoulder Barbara Allen gown and boutique White Ribbon ballet flats, Marina looked amazing and couldn’t wait to see Michael for the first time.

Michael, full of excitement, opened gifts from Marina (and her mother) including embroidered cufflinks and personal letters from the time of their engagement and we all teared up as the reality of the special day hit him like a gust of sweet wind.

The couple is traditional Coptic Orthodox, which is a traditional Egyptian take on Christianity, and in this tradition the Groom walks the Bride down the aisle, signifying beginning their new journey together. So, the first time the Groom sees the Bride is not at the end of the aisle but at the start of it. Marina walked up the Church steps and tapped Michael on the shoulder, and as he turned around he couldn’t hold back his tears. The two of them linked arms, whispered secrets and walked down the aisle together. This Crowning Ceremony – a moment in this special ceremony where both the Bride and Groom are crowned – was beautiful and signified the “official” completion of the marriage, much like “tying the knot” in other ancient traditions.

Following the ceremony, we headed to the beautiful and quiet Nestleton Waters Inn for photos in the field and in the forest with the bridal party, and a gorgeous and meaningful reception in the evening. The couple shared a beautiful first dance and special tribute was paid to their respective families, who blessed the marriage and encouraged them to enjoy a bright and lovely future together.

Working with couples like Marina and Michael makes this job as a photo and cinema team so meaningful to us, and we can’t wait to watch them grow together as the years go by.

Whimsical Summer Wedding in the English Countryside

Complete with creamy blooms, beautiful hues of blue, and the dreamiest outdoor ceremony, it’s one celebration that we more than love. See it all in The Vault!

Whimsical

From the Bride… We first met a mutual friend’s wedding and the rest as they say is history. Teo proposed on the weekend of my 30th birthday celebrations on a clifftop here in Cornwall as the sun set and the waves crashed below us. For our wedding we chose Nancarrow Organic Farm as we knew it well from working there as wedding photographers ourselves. Te food was an incredibly important part of the day for us and the fact that we could incorporate the organic farm produce was wonderful. We chose to write our own humanist ceremony and have it take place between two old oak trees. We knew we wanted the whole day to feel as natural as possible and felt it was a poignant place to make our vows above the intertwined roots of the two oaks, reflecting our ideas of marriage as a supportive union that allows for growth through life together. We wanted the whole day to feel inclusive for all our family and friends of different ages so we sat everyone at long tables and had sharing platters of organic food. We booked our Ceilidh (traditional Celtic barn dance) band with this idea of inclusivity and fun in mind too.

My wedding gown is an antique from Jane Bourvis who has a boutique near Portobello Market in London. It was made of three layers, the bottom layer a champagne gold 1930’s silk slip, the next layer was silk chiffon and the top layer was lace, made by Jane from antique edwardian veils. It was so soft and comfortable. I paired it with an antique veil from the same boutique.

A DIY element included was that we made our own wedding bands at a Jewellers in St Ives. We are Polish, so we incorporated the Polish tradition of being greeted at the reception with blessings, bread, salt and sweet vodka by the women of the family.
My favorite detail of the day was the hand fasting piece of linen my Mum embroidered for the ceremony.

I have too many favorite moments mention, but a big one is waiting with my Dad at the top of the field, hearing my friend Caroline’s beautiful voice singing Eva Cassidy’s “Time After Time” for us whilst our friend Ben played the guitar.. watching my bridesmaids walking down to the ceremony in front of me then walking towards Teo and seeing him for the first time that day. I have never felt so nervous and so happy all at the same time. Another was seeing so many joyful faces during the ceilidh. Even Teo’s 94 year old Grandmother was up dancing. She says it was the best wedding she’s ever been to and she’s been to a few!

Some advice for those planning: Don’t be afraid to break the mould. Your ceremony can be whatever you want it to be if you wish. We chose to do the legal part the day before to allow us to marry entirely outdoors (as this isn’t currently legal in England). If you want an outdoors ceremony somewhere not so reliable for the weather then be brave and go for it (also have a plan B of course) as the chances are it will be fine. In general, if you want to do things a little differently then do. We had ourwedding cake in the afternoon during the cocktail hour as we’d been at so many weddings where the cake was wasted as no-one wanted it at the end of the night after a big meal when the cake cutting normally happens. Do what feels right for you and your relationship. Know that there aren’t too many actual rules when it comes to a wedding!

Is This Real Life? Oh Yes It Is…And It Only Gets Better + Better…

Your wedding day is undoubtably one of the most amazing, special, beautiful days of your life… but for this couple, that joyride continued into their honeymoon in the South of France, where Oliver Fly captured the ongoing magic. From a romantic dinner for two, to after dinner drinks in the lavender fields at golden hour, this right here is what dreams are made of. See more in our Vault!

From Oliver FlyEva and Anoop are a sweet couple from New York City, living in Manhattan. They got married last June in the Big Apple and France and Greece were part of their dream for their honeymoon destinations.

They chose Provence because it has everything they dreamed of for a venue. It is a natural place that is well preserved and is amazingly beautiful, relaxing and has so many different towns and villages to experience, to walk around, and to take magnificent photos at. It is one of those regions that one must see at least once in their lives. Provence is probably the most beautiful region in France.

They love everything about the South of France, the beautiful scenery, the peace and quiet, the lovely vineyards and old Provencal houses, the cypress trees, and the lavender fields.

They spent a few relaxing days at the elegant Bastide de Marie in the French countryside located in the Luberon Regional Park between Gordes and Ménerbes. Eva and Anoop loved the drive around the countryside while appreciating nature, the beautiful sunset, and the selection of restaurants and bars within the region that serve authentic French cuisine and wine. They can’t wait to go back and see more of the South of France with all those stunning villages.

When they planned their honeymoon to France, they could not imagine leaving this place without a great souvenir, that’s why they decided to contact a professional photographer to go back home with some tangible memories that will last for years to come. It was very important for them for this moment to be captured through photographs that they can look at through the years.

We started the session with an intimate dinner at their luxury hotel at La Bastide de Marie, the perfect backdrop where they spent few unforgettable days in the middle of nature with vineyards, cypress trees, enchanting scented lavender bushes and century-old olive trees. The elegant floral design has been made with love by the talented provencal florist Laetitia C. Fleurs d’Atelier.

Their journey in Provence was the perfect timing for the lavender fields in blossom where we spent the second part of their dreamy session during the golden hour.

Nothing better for their honeymoon than joy, elegance and romance in the lavender fields ending a fantastic day with a perfect sunset and a signature drink with Champagne Rosé and a sprig of lavender.

Cheers from Provence !

A Cozy Gathering Should be the First Thing on Your Fall Bucket List

Chillier weather calls for home cooked meals, delicious carb loading and a whiskey toast with friends. So welcome all that Fall has to offer with this gorgeous dinner party inspiration from Emily Browne and Perry Vaile Photography. We can almost smell the fresh bread from here. Find even more inspiration for the coziest, laid-back Fall gathering in the VAULT and grab the recipe for that delicious cocktail below!

After a summer spent basking in warm sunshine, fitting in a vacation, and filling every weekend with tasks, travel and just an over-abundance of BUSY – the cooler fall months beckon us all to slow down and breathe.

This shoot captures that experience – hitting the break pedal of life for a bit on the first crisp weekend of Fall, spent with friends.

This affair was planned with an eye for simplicity, where company and the warmth of a heated home beckon conversation and laughter around the dinner-table.

It showcases the easy-going vibe that we all are desperate for after a long, arduous and heat filled summer – where we can cook barefoot with our loves, as we anticipate arriving guests. The smell of fresh bread and perfectly seasoned pheasant permeates the living spaces, and a whisky toast welcomes the cooler months with open arms.

This cocktail was quite a special concoction, perfect for the changing seasons. The “Summer Goodbye” is a drink that gives a nod to the traditional summertime margarita, but exchanges tequila with a hearty autumn staple – whiskey.

From Jesse TombsChateau De Varennes, located in the Burgundy region of France has hundreds of years of history. Built almost 400 years ago and recently named by CNN and Luxworldwide among the top ten best wedding venues in the world it called for a decor story that was laden with luxury and albeit history.

With 70’s vintage walking the most current red carpets and runways of Europe, I decided to focus my design on the era of excess, bold prints, color, texture and unusual fabrics. Inspiration was found from current collections from Gucci’s newly anointed creative director Frida Giannini and Nicolas Ghesquiere, creative director of Louis Vuitton. Colors were also pulled from images of vintage 70’s fashion magazines such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.

When designing a wedding, I pull inspiration, quirks and unique customized ideas from my clients personal life, history as a couple, interests, passions and family heritage; as this was a stylized shoot for the purpose of teaching photography, there was a lack of personal connection to a client per-say, which I didn’t want. I wanted the design to still read as something that a client
had helped me envision, something that felt authentic and real, and so a style story was born.

How One Wedding Blended Two Cultures Seamlessly

Every once and a while a wedding comes along that’s truly unlike anything we’ve ever seen. A wedding where style and heart intersect and cultural beauty reigns king. That very wedding is what’s about to unfold from the lens of Luna de Mare. The bride and groom sought to pay homage to their Arabic and Mexican heritage, and from the invites by Beacon Lane to the food and drink enjoyed by guests, no detail when untouched. Consider this gallery your guide to multicultural wedding perfection.

From Luna de Mare… Located along the Central Coast of California, Sunstone Villa & Winery in Santa Ynez is the perfect backdrop for the wedding of your dreams. The peachy hues of French limestone, and lush grape vines in the vineyard offer a beautiful landscape as a setting for an al fresco experience. Melva & Ali chose to incorporate both their cultures into a blended affair, featuring Mariachis and Arabic Dancers. Their Ceremony took place at the Villa’s two giant Oak trees, with cascading Florals and Olive leaves in front of their closest friends and family, with a nod to both cultures.

Once the ceremony concluded, guests were ushered to the front lawn of the Villa, with Mariachi’s singing, as a nod to the Bride’s heritage, while Caterers served different culinary delights, from mini Tacos sitting atop limes with a single serving of Patron, to Mediterranean food and their speciality cocktails, the Melgarita, AC Mule, and Calismash.

During the Reception, they were entertained by special dances from the Groom’s heritage, and later enjoyed dinner & dancing under the stars, near the Villa’s vineyard. As a nightcap, they chose to continue with an intimate after-party in the Winery Barrel Room, for those who were up for an extended evening with the pair, while they noshed on late night burgers from the In & Out truck they had waiting for their guests.
