Moody Meets Modern at This Autumn Vineyard Estate Wedding

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]We leaned into the Autumnal hues of Northern California complimenting marigold and rust colors with warm browns, merlot red and various greens. [/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The vision for Carly and Nate’s wedding was a California-chic autumnal soirée that blended a relaxed, fun atmosphere with effortless beauty. We sought to harmonize romantic and contemporary aesthetics, pairing organic florals and foliage with sleek, modern table settings and furnishings. Thoughtful, personalized touches brought the design to life, such as the bespoke stationery suite inspired by the Sonoma Mountain landscape—the delicate lines on the stationery were traced directly from the mountain’s contours. Another standout detail was the ice cream bar, a nod to the couple’s shared hobby of making homemade ice cream. Carly and Nate created custom flavors, which guests enjoyed while choosing their favorite toppings, adding a sweet and personal touch to the celebration. Every element, from the seasonal, family-style menu to the warm and inviting ambiance, was designed to make guests feel appreciated and welcome. This wedding was a testament to the power of intentional design and meaningful details to create an unforgettable experience.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Our proposal was very low-key and intimate — Nate proposed in our kitchen with flowers, an incredible bottle of wine (for us to age and drink on our 10th wedding anniversary), and a beautiful ring before we went out for a celebratory dinner at Saison in San Francisco.

After the ceremony, guests were welcomed with a striking champagne shelf installation, adorned with seasonal fall fruits, nuts, and foliage. This inviting display set the tone for the cocktail hour, blending natural elements with a touch of elegance. Dinner is followed by a thoughtfully curated, seasonal menu served family-style, fostering a sense of intimacy and connection among guests. Every bite reflected the couple’s desire for a warm, communal dining experience.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The florals and decor were a celebration of autumn’s richness, featuring marigold, rust, warm browns, merlot red, and various greens. This lush, organic palette created a warm and inviting ambiance, while candlelight added an intimate glow. Contemporary furnishings with clean lines balanced the abundance of foliage, offering a refined and modern feel perfectly suited to the couple’s aesthetic. Together, these elements created an atmosphere that was both romantic and fresh, making the celebration unforgettable.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The wedding cake was a minimalist masterpiece, featuring the same mountain line detail as the stationery, a nod to the Sonoma Mountain landscape that held special meaning for the couple. Its clean design was beautifully complemented by the surrounding lush florals, creating a stunning focal point that seamlessly tied into the overall aesthetic.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]We wanted our ceremony to be very personalized and true to us. The highlight (and main focus) was our vows, which we wrote ourselves.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

There were so many wedding details that were incredible (the flowers! the photographer! the amazing venue, food and wine!). It meant the world to have our family and friends there, and to be able to create an experience that felt true to us (a particular highlight was sharing our love of cooking by creating an entire homemade ice cream bar). But some of the most special moments were the ones where we were able to step away just the two of us. Whether it was enjoying some apps and champagne while signing our marriage certificate, taking a second to look out at our family and friends before walking into dinner together, doing our ‘first scoop’ of the homemade ice cream for our guests, or when Nate whisked Carly away to the dance floor at the end of the night; the moments where we could enjoy the day together made everything feel extra special thanks to the planning that allowed those moments to happen.

A Summer Wedding at the Inn at Carnall Hall Inspired by a “Coastal Hamptons” Aesthetic

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Wedding: All hues of blues and white with touches of greenery.
Rehearsal Dinner: Razorback theme with red and white.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

From the very beginning, Brooklyn and Kolby Bowman of Amanda Reed Weddings envisioned a wedding inspired by the “coastal Hamptons,” full of timeless elegance and charm. As the design evolved, Kolby knew it was important to honor her sweet mom’s memory. Intentional, meaningful details were woven throughout the day to celebrate her presence, making the experience as heartfelt as it was beautiful.

Guests enjoyed a lush buffet of chicken and prime rib, paired with fresh, vibrant sides that reflected the couple’s love for elegant yet approachable dining. The signature cocktails added a personalized touch, perfectly complementing the coastal-inspired atmosphere.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The wedding florals by Pigmint were nothing short of perfection, with lush greenery and white blooms accented by soft blue hues. The hydrangeas overflowing the tables and cake table added to the coastal vision. Each arrangement brought the coastal vision to life while feeling effortlessly elegant. For the rehearsal dinner, Blush Dahlia designed stunning red-and-white Razorback-themed florals, adding a bold and playful touch that celebrated the couple’s Arkansas roots.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The cake was a beautiful blend of elegance and personality. Featuring soft blue and white tones, it was adorned with a delicate sugar bow—a fun nod to Brooklyn’s dress—and layered with flavors that delighted every guest.

Their Wedding Was the Epitome of Classic Style at Philbrook Museum of Art

Our wedding day vision was brought to life by so many incredible vendors! Our design was classic, elegant, and whimsical.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Brendan and I met in Fall 2017 at the University of Arkansas. I was enrolled in an Economics class and was looking for a tutor. My roommate at the time had a family friend (Brendan) who happened to be a tutor for that course. We met several times throughout the semester for tutoring sessions. It didn’t take long for either of us to realize we were both interested in more than the Economics material. After the semester, Brendan asked me to get coffee at Onyx, and the rest is history! Brendan proposed in May 2023. He planned a “picnic” to celebrate graduating from law school. We went ring shopping and designed my ring a few months prior, so I knew the proposal would be soon. At the picnic, he had brought a bottle of wine we bought on our first anniversary in Napa, CA, that we kept saving for a “special occasion.” After the proposal, we celebrated with our families and closest friends!

I immediately fell in love with “Tucker” by Anne Barge the moment I saw it. Before my appointment at La Mariée Boutique, I contacted Elizabeth to confirm they had it in the store. Elizabeth pulled it before I arrived and asked me if I wanted to try it on first or last – I chose last. It didn’t take me long after putting it on that I knew it was my dress. We made a small adjustment to the off-the-shoulder straps, making them into a thicker shoulder strap for the ceremony. It was elegant and timeless – exactly what I envisioned for my wedding day.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Although we did not have a wedding party, we asked our closest friends to spend the day with us. We asked all guests to wear black formal attire![/field]

Brendan’s grandmother made cufflinks for the men in his family out of his late grandfather’s fire department dress uniform. We lost his grandfather in December 2023, so this special touch was a sweet reminder of him.

Our catering and bartending teams blew us away – as we knew they would! Upon arrival at the ceremony, guests were met with a glass of champagne, then had the choice of several delicious drink options by the Mint 2 Mix team for the remainder of the night. We also included mocktail options. Justin Thompson Catering passed hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour, my favorite being the chicken and waffles. Guests chose between chicken and beef for their entrees. I had mentioned at our tasting that salmon would be my preferred choice, and the JTC team made a special entrée with salmon just for me! Our entree also included pesto risotto and broccoli – two of our favorites!

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Silks A Bloom was the first vendor I contacted once we finalized our wedding day! I chose white and green florals paired with glass accents and candles for a clean, timeless look!

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

Some may call it crazy, but I knew we had to have Shelby Lynn’s Cake Shoppe make our wedding cake, even if we were getting married in another state! We chose a lemon cake with raspberry filling. We wanted something light and summery.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

We had a cello and violin duo play for our ceremony and cocktail hour. As a big Swiftie, our professional music was all Taylor Swift. For cocktail hour, I wanted a mix of classical and pop – think Bridgerton vibes! For our private last dance, we chose the song that Brendan had playing when he proposed – “Let You Love Me” by Jervis Campbell

My mom gifted me the pearl earrings and diamond tennis bracelet she wore on her wedding day. She is also an extremely talented seamstress, and she made all of the alterations to my wedding dress and my veil.

Our seating chart! My mom and I sourced all of the frames and pictures. This took several months full of thrift store and estate sale trips, spray painting frames in the summer heat, and printing the perfect photos. Dayflower Designs took over from there and brought my vision to life!

With the Bride’s Childhood Home as the Perfect Backdrop, the Vision of Southern Elegance Came to Life

With the bride’s childhood home as the perfect backdrop, the vision of southern elegance came to life. The ceremony was effortless and impactful, with a blush drape hanging two stories high on the front porch framing the bride and groom while they said their vows. The reception was an intentional, balanced compilation of the bride’s favorites – pink, stripes, and bows. The wedding planner, Maggie Counce with Counce and Company, designed and brought the vision to life.

For the bride, growing up in a small town meant you had your favorite restaurant you frequented at least once a week. Wood’s place is not only the bride’s favorite but is a local favorite among many in Camden. The southern-style comfort food, topped off with personal special touches from the owners, was a perfect fit for our wedding. Dinner was served in food stations consisting of beef tenderloin, soft shell crab, fried chicken, jumbo shrimp, Mediterranean pasta, and a fruit tower. An open bar was provided for guest to choose their favorite beverage of choice. Dessert was cake with a variety of flavors of strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Pattern play was carefully chosen and worked into the design. The bride’s love for stripes was at the center, with a gorgeous blush and white striped linen on the head table as a focal point in the tent. The perfect pink was chosen for all of the bar and stage structure, and they served as the backdrop for the stunning floral final layer – orchids, pink roses, peonies, ranunculus, and more. The ruscus that lined the chandeliers was playfully woven into the dance floor design – ruscus vines in a pink checkered pattern.

An Elegant Affair in the North Carolina Mountains at the Barn on New River

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The wedding palette included varied shades of green, taupe, cream and touches of lilac. We aimed to create a look that felt organic and seamlessly tied to the natural surroundings.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The Barn on New River in West Jefferson, NC, is surrounded by acres of lush land offering a perfect canvas for a mountain wedding inspired by nature’s beauty. Situated at the base of the western North Carolina mountains, the venue sits alongside a stunning dahlia garden and the winding New River. Eleanor’s family vacation home is nestled on top of the mountain that overlooks the venue, which their family friends own and operate. It was the perfect location for Eleanor and Connor’s mountainside soiree. To help bring their elevated mountain formal vision to life, Eleanor turned to Whitney Bowman Events. “I felt an immediate bond with Eleanor and her mother,” Whitney says. “We are kindred in many ways, and I knew the design and planning process would be joyful and fun with our shared vision for prioritizing guest experience and our love of paper goods and organic florals.” “I was immediately inspired by the vast natural beauty in West Jefferson,” Whitney recalls, “and leaned into textural woods, leather, native florals, and other natural elements in our design. We aimed to create a refined, unique, and modern event seamlessly blended with the beauty of the outdoors. The overall design embodied tranquility and romance, creating an unforgettable celebration steeped in natural charm. Whitney and her team worked with Loly Orozco from the Little Postage House, a boutique branding and stationery company, on their custom save the dates, invitation suite, and day-of items. “We wanted to create a truly unforgettable guest experience that featured a natural elegance, so we worked to weave together nature-inspired elements and sophisticated touches throughout the event. It started with the invitation suite, which served as the first introduction to the couple’s design vision, drawing inspiration from the ferns that grew abundantly in West Jefferson, NC, where the couple had spent meaningful time together”, Loly Orozco says. The suite was meticulously letterpress printed and included several die-cut inserts and a delicate fern pocket that housed all of the invitation pieces. To add a personalized touch, the fern pocket was sealed with a wax emblem featuring the couple’s monogram, ensuring that each guest received an invitation that felt both elegant and uniquely created for the couple. As guests arrived at the barn for cocktail hour, they were greeted by a stunning display of custom-cut, personalized oval wood escort cards. Each card was individually engraved with the guest’s details and cut by the Little Postage House in their studio. The cards were placed on arched walls that featured an intricate wallpaper design that the Little Postage House created to mirror the color scheme and design of the reception linens. As a final touch, delicate lilac tassels hung from the escort cards, enhancing the whimsical and refined atmosphere.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Eleanor and Connor got engaged on a sunset boat cruise in Porto, Portugal. After a long day of travel with flight delays and cancellations, they boarded the boat straight from the airport. It was on this boat that Connor popped the question overlooking the beautiful historic city. The couple then spent the next seven days exploring Portugal together, celebrating their engagement and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Guests were greeted with a gorgeous floral arbor, and as they progressed through the venue, large floral installations created by Floressence Flowers met them at every turn. Textural installations and table centerpieces featuring stunning Garden Roses, Clematis, Ranunculus, and Sweet Peas brought the space to life, while the bride’s delicate Lily of the Valley bouquet added a timeless touch of elegance. The reception venue itself was transformed with custom-built elements designed to bring the fern motif and natural aesthetics to life. Behind the stage, fluted arched walls were erected, featuring custom and intricate wallpaper designed by Little Postage House. These walls framed the space beautifully, setting the stage for the evening’s festivities. Matching fluted coffee tables with wood and linen couches surrounded the dance floor. The dinner tables were also designed to evoke a sense of natural elegance. Textural velvet, ruffled wooden chargers, and tortoise flatware sat atop the stunning floral and striped linens. Wood and letterpressed menu cards acted as a focal point of each place setting. Each menu was secured with a small leather tie, offering a subtle nod to the couple’s refined taste. No detail was overlooked, even at the custom-painted green bar, where leather monogrammed koozies and matchbooks were placed to give guests an extra piece of keepsake memorabilia while reinforcing the overall design theme. “These small and thoughtful details were at every turn of the event—both functional or decorative—to ensure that the couple’s branding was both personal and polished, offering guests a seamless experience throughout the event”, Loly says.

Richard’s proposal to Courtney was set against the golden sands of Torrey Pines Beach. While visiting Courtney’s family in San Diego, Richard suggested a walk along the shoreline—one of Courtney’s favorite pastimes. Dressed in workout clothes, she didn’t think twice about his suggestion, though his choice of jeans and a sweater might have been a clue of what was to come. As the waves crashed in the background, Richard surprised her with a stunning ring, and when she turned around, she saw a photographer capturing every joyful moment. The surprises didn’t end there—when they returned home, Courtney’s parents, sisters, and best friend were waiting to celebrate their engagement with the sweetest gathering, making the day even more unforgettable. Guests enjoyed learning about these special locations, making the evening feel even more intimate and reflective of the couple’s unique love story. The wedding design seamlessly blended Polish and Indonesian influences, creating a refined East meets West aesthetic. The elegant combination of orchids and lilies set the tone, complemented by soft Toile de Jouy prints and natural textures like rattan. A mix of classical inspiration and playful, modern touches gave the wedding a timeless yet vibrant feel. The overall vision celebrated the couple’s multicultural heritage, with thoughtful elements that beautifully tied together tradition and contemporary style.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Marcin and Emilva’s proposal story is as enchanting as their love. They decided to escape for a romantic weekend to Mont Saint-Michel, a stunning island village known for its picturesque views. After a cozy dinner, the couple took a peaceful walk towards the castle island as the sun began to set, casting a magical glow over the surroundings. As the sky turned dark, Marcin asked Emilva to take a picture of him with her phone. In that moment, as she reached for her phone, he asked her to turn on the flashlight, since it was already dark, and the streets were without streetlights. When she did, he dropped to one knee and asked the question she had been waiting for. The moment was perfect — intimate, unexpected, and filled with the timeless beauty of Mont Saint-Michel. With the backdrop of the night sky, Emilva said yes, marking the beginning of their next chapter together.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Emilva’s wedding gown was a perfect blend of classic elegance and modern minimalism. Designed with a structured corset and high-quality silk drapes, the gown created a statuesque silhouette that made her feel both feminine and confident. The dress, named Myra, was a true showstopper, with a custom-made corset and an option for a laced back or invisible zipper. From the moment Emilva tried it on, she knew it was the one, and even her brother was moved to tears, confirming her choice. It was the dress that made her feel truly radiant on her special day.[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

For the bridesmaids, we chose elegant silk slip dresses that perfectly complemented the overall aesthetic of the wedding. We played with a blend of complementary shades—pink, violet, and blue—creating a soft, yet vibrant combination that flowed beautifully together. The varied colors allowed each bridesmaid to shine individually while still feeling part of the cohesive, elegant theme of the day.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Orchids and lilies, symbolizing the couple’s heritage, took center stage in the floral arrangements, while the ceremony backdrop, inspired by a classical Greek archway, added a timeless and grand touch. Elegant Toile de Jouy linens and quirky hanging lampshades brought a mix of sophistication and playfulness to the décor. Chairs with rattan accents, a nod to Indonesian craftsmanship, added texture and natural warmth to the setting. Personalized details like folding fans with guests’ names, hand-painted paper umbrellas, and carousel-style dinner menus delighted guests, while the stationery seamlessly tied it all together. Poppy flowers and orchids, along with Indonesian batik patterns and Polish wycinanki, were beautifully incorporated into the designs, celebrating the couple’s multicultural roots in every detail.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The wedding cake was a true reflection of the couple’s taste and style, combining a unique flavor with a modern design. For the flavor, they chose Yuzu, their favorite, offering a refreshing and citrusy twist that added a distinctive touch to the celebration. The design was equally striking, featuring a modern, square-shaped multi-tier cake that made a bold statement. Delicate petals were paint-brushed with a rich red, adding a pop of color and a romantic, artistic flair. The cake was not only a delicious treat but also a stunning piece of art, perfectly complementing the overall elegant and contemporary theme of the wedding.[/field]

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

For their ceremony, Roxana and Bem chose Peter Madan as their officiant, as he was able to blend Catholic touches with the Persian ceremony. The groom’s entrance on the song ‘The Matrimony’ gave the tone to the entire wedding: modern, multi-cultural, and family-oriented. Ceremony songs: Do 4 Love (Bride entranc,e) Ceremony songs: The Matrimony (Groom Entrance), Ceremony songs: Protector (Rumi’s entrance)

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Roxana and Bem always knew they wanted a blended cultural ceremony experience. They decided to hold the Nigerian ceremony during the welcome dinner with a focus on merriment and symbolism. During this ceremony, Roxana donned the traditional Nigerian Tiv tribal colors of black and white and ‘reintroduced’ herself to Bem and his family.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

Roxana had always wanted to incorporate the Persian ceremony into the overall ceremony for her wedding. She worked with her mother, NE Design, and Simin Events to bring the vision of the ‘Sofreh Aghd’ to life. Each element on the spread had a special meaning that supported the success and everlasting marriage of souls. The ceremony spread was laid out before the guests, and Roxana’s father explained the meaning and symbolism behind each of the hand-crafted objects. The most special aspect of this ceremony was the grinding of sugar above the bride and groom’s heads to symbolize the adding of sweetness to the couple’s lives.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Roxana and Bem had the privilege of including their daughter, Rumi, in the celebrations and wanted to make sure that even though she would be too young to remember the occasion, she would be remembered. With the help of Anne Laure, they created a custom cart for Rumi to be rolled down the aisle before the entrance of the Bride. This was one of the highlights of Roxana and Bem’s day. [/field]

5 Ways To Avoid Stress on Your Wedding Morning

I don’t think I’ve met one couple who didn’t encounter at least one stressful situation during their wedding planning process, or their wedding day for that matter! Murphy’s law—you’ll most likely have at least one snafu. But if you’ve got a great attitude and do your best to prepare, you’ll have an incredible day regardless. But let’s talk wedding morning… that is absolutely NOT a time to be stressing! Here are five easy ways to avoid stress and start your Big Day off right.

Get Ready Solo

While getting ready with your bridesmaids can be SO much fun—it can also be stressful if you’ve got a big group. From unwanted advice (there’s always that one person) to questions being asked to hair and makeup… things can get a little crazy. I personally chose to begin getting ready by myself, followed by spending an hour and half with my sister (who was my matron of honor) and then asked the rest of my girls to join us about an hour before the wedding for the final touches and a glass of bubbly. It was such a pleasant way to spend those getting ready moments.

Throw Traditions Out the Door

We all know of the superstition that it’s bad luck to see your fiancé the day of the wedding—but, first looks have sort of crushed that! Then, there’s the tradition where couples stay in separate rooms the night before the wedding. But does that really make sense if you already cohabitate (and have already done the deed)? Keep stress levels low by doing things how you usually do them. If sleeping in the same room makes you at ease, throw that old tradition out the door and hop into bed with your babe!

Practice Your Vows

Public speaking is a big stressor for many people—so it makes complete sense that most are nervous about their vows! Whether you’re doing custom vows or not, it’s always a good idea to do a run through the morning of and helps release a bit of the pressure.

Delegate Everything Day-Of

The last thing you want to deal with on your wedding morning is a slew of questions… from vendors, wedding guests, your bridal party. Delegate someone in your bridal party, or a close family member or friend you trust who can be that go-to person for final details. Putting your trust in that person allows you to full soak in every moment of your well-deserved Big Day! It also helps to create a day-of timeline (something an event planner can help with, too) and hand it out to all vendors involved and any other people you delegate tasks to.

Have a Back Up Plan

One of the biggest things couples worry about when planning their wedding: the weather. Whether you’re having an indoor or outdoor ceremony, rain can put a huge damper on things. Make sure to have a solid back up plan, so you won’t be scrambling the day of to figure out logistics. Most venues will help you come up with a game plan, too. Having that backup option will allow you to let go and feel confident that rain or shine, you and your loved ones will have an incredible day.

This Springtime Soiree is What Happens When California Style Meets European Garden Party

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”The Inspiration”]

As the springtime breeze whispered through the verdant grounds of Haven Ridge, this California-style European garden party soirée unfolded within the charming confines of the Little Chapel’s new Victorian-style solarium. Orchestrated by the creative minds at Humble Jade Events and Design and Everything Pretty Collective, this wedding inspiration was a celebration of the season’s vibrant embrace. As the day progressed, the solarium became a theater of light and color. Guests moved through a space transformed, each detail a note in a visual symphony that celebrated the union of nature and design. It was a photoshoot that not only captured the essence of spring at Haven Ridge but also the spirit of innovation that drives Humble Jade Events and Design. Every element sang in harmony, creating an experience that was as unforgettable as it was beautiful. It was a reminder that in the right hands, a space can become more than just a backdrop—it can become a story. Our photographer, Danielle Flake Photography, was keen to capture every detail that this light and space offered.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Fuchsia, Bright Pinks, Sunset Orange, Tangerine, Chartreuse. The venue’s stunning grounds, kissed by the tender hues of spring, served as the canvas for this artistic endeavor. Inspired by the natural beauty that surrounded them, the designers set out to infuse the solarium with a palette that echoed the boldness of spring’s awakening. Bright pinks and vivacious orange tones bloomed across the setting, their floral vibrancy a mainstay of the day’s color story. Yet, amidst this burst of color, there was a deliberate play of contrasts. Neutral textures were woven into the design, their subtlety a perfect complement to the solarium’s ever-changing light. From the crisp clarity of daylight to the golden glow of sunset, these elements gleamed, adding a dynamic visual rhythm to the space.

The tablescape became a focal point of balance and beauty. Honey-toned candles and table lamps cast a warm, inviting light, their amber radiance harmonizing with the surrounding florals. It was a tableau that spoke of elegance and warmth, a testament to the meticulous planning and stylistic flair of the event’s designers. Drawing from the planner’s California roots, the styling incorporated natural rattan woods and simplistic elements. These materials, known for their earthy charm and durability, added a layer of organic texture to the setting. The result was a design that felt both grounded and ethereal, a nod to the planner’s heritage and her ability to blend the rustic with the refined.

[/field]
[field title=”Favorite Design Element”]The harmony of florals and stationery truly brought this stunning day to life. Dominique from Thoughtfully Yours curated a stationery collection that reflected the romance and elegance of European greenhouses from the Victorian Era or as in France “The Belle Époque” or “The Beautiful Age”. The designs were inspired by the vibrant garden florals and luxurious textures, intentionally curated with a cohesive design from the invitation suite through day-of stationery – filled with hand calligraphy, original floral art, and vintage motifs.

Kristin with Everything Pretty Collective made it a point to lean into the unique charm of the venue while dreaming up floral inspiration for the shoot. In a refreshing departure from traditional ceremony installations, the solarium came alive with a vibrant array of potted plants, bringing the essence of an enchanting garden indoors. Delicately placed florals danced along the table top of the reception space. The pops of color and texture were a true celebration of nature’s beauty, expertly crafted to create a feast for the senses![/field]
[field title=”Tips To Pull Off The Look”]

Textures and Hues: Embrace a variety of textures and hues to create a multidimensional effect. Use fabrics with a sheen to catch the light beautifully. Floral Pairings: Coordinate the colors of your florals with other elements like candles to create a cohesive look. Peach tones with honey shades can add a warm, inviting atmosphere. Pop of Color: Don’t be afraid to add a bold pop of color, like a pink lip, to keep the look fresh and timeless. Lighting: Utilize natural light to enhance the textures and colors. As the day progresses, introduce warm-toned lighting to maintain the ambiance. Stationery: Choose stationery that complements the theme, with hand calligraphy, floral art, and vintage motifs to reflect the romance and elegance of the setting. Napkin Folding: Add a unique touch to your tablescape with creatively folded napkins. Fold them to resemble a fan, which adds height and an interesting visual element to each place setting.

[/field]
[field title=”DIY Moments”]From the muted jacquard florals in the bride’s shoes and dress to the signature drinks of a Traditional Elderfashioned and a Chamomile Collin, to the curated welcome baskets filled with local goods like tea, honey, macarons, and custom wrapped wine from North Carolina artisans, florals were creatively rooted in each element of the day.[/field]

Timeless Elegance Infused With Modern Touches at Petroleum Club of Shreveport

I aimed to create a look that was both timelessly elegant and infused with modern touches. My goal was to be able to look back at my photos, no matter how much time passed, and still feel excited. I wanted guests to leave with an unforgettable experience, filled with thoughtful customizations at every turn. From vibrant pops of color in the church to vintage cake plates and a fresh spin on a classic dance floor, we wanted the day to be fun yet timeless.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Ethan and I went out of town to “visit his family” in Natchez, Mississippi. While exploring the historic city, our first stop was a stunning cathedral with a flower garden. In the garden was a stunning fountain, which Ethan pointed out to me. After trying on over 50 dresses, I finally found a fabric and bow I LOVED at Fabulous Frocks in Shreveport. As time went on, I began to question the neckline. After playing dress up in my mom’s bedroom, I realized that a different neckline would suit the classic vision of the wedding. We began alterations and completely changed the neckline, while adding tails to the incredible double bow. I adore every detail that came to be on the dress!

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]I couldn’t help but feel a little jealous of my bridesmaids because I loved their dresses so much! The beautiful strapless light blue gowns from Bella Bridesmaids, with stunning ruffle details down the back, were perfect. They were my “something blue” for the day, and I wouldn’t change a thing![/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]

The groomsmen wore deep navy suits from Squire’s. Ethan had originally planned to wear the same suit, but he had chosen his wedding boots months earlier, and they were a special detail for him. When we realized his boots wouldn’t fit over the slim-fit pants, I knew we’d need to find a solution. Thankfully, his family owns a clothing store, so they were able to get him a custom-fitted suit. We decided on a light tan suit, which turned out to be the perfect contrast to the groomsmen’s navy suits. What started as a stressful moment ended up being one of my favorite details of the day!

[field title=”Food & Drink”]From the start, we knew we wanted fun, flavorful food, and the Petroleum Club of Shreveport truly delivered. Their amazing spread featured a variety of stations, with everything from fresh-rolled sushi and Louisiana shrimp and grits to carne asada street tacos and beef Wellington—something to satisfy every craving! To give guests a sweet send-off, we served honey butter chicken biscuits at the exit. The food was, without a doubt, the most talked-about highlight after our wedding. Ethan and I couldn’t wait to get back to our hotel that night, where we were beyond excited to find a honey butter chicken biscuit from the Petroleum Club waiting for us![/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Our vision began with the creation of our custom crest and envelope liner, featuring a light blue and peach floral design. This served as the foundation for Brianna Belton to bring our vision to life. One of my biggest desires was for the church to be breathtaking. We got married in a grand sanctuary, and I envisioned a striking focal point—a large arch overflowing with flowers. For the reception, we wanted a lounge-like atmosphere with soft seating vignettes scattered throughout. The dance floor featured a light blue and white checkered pattern, with lattice details woven into the back wall of the stage and bar inserts. We even had a few custom linens made to match the design of the envelope liners, tying everything together beautifully.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]We chose to have a fake wedding cake so it could remain beautiful and serve as a focal point throughout the evening. The design by Uptown Downtown featured lovely bow details, a nod to the wedding gown. But the best part of having a fake cake? We could pick as many cake flavors as we wanted! Each guest was served a slice on a vintage floral dessert plate, with choices ranging from classic wedding cake, lemon blueberry, chocolate, to red velvet and Chantilly. It was such a fun touch, and I heard from so many people that they tried a little bit of every flavor![/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

My favorite part was truly the ceremony. While the music was beautiful and the sermon was so well done, honestly, my favorite part was that Ethan and I could not stop talking to each other! After a whole day of not seeing each other, it was so much fun to just stand up there holding hands and whispering to each other about everything!

[/field]

My wedding day perfume was something that I knew would be a special keepsake for me and I knew every time I smelled the scent, it would bring me right back to the wedding weekend. In honor of scents bringing memories back to life, we gifted my wedding day perfume to each of my bridesmaids and the women of my family to both wear and keep as a memory of the wedding weekend!

It was a fun way to show how much I appreciate them and the important role they play in my life. As a surprise, my mom also gifted me a white monogrammed sash for my bouquet. [/field]

A Spring Affair at Rosecliff Mansion Inspired by Art, Poetry and the Two Places Their Love Story Began

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

With a vision of old world romance, iconic poetry, and lush florals, the only fitting option when it came to wedding colors was soft and subtle pastels. Throughout the wedding, white, pale pink, lavender, and light blue tones were used.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The couple wanted the aesthetic to be very representative of the way they feel about each other. Their story is very fairytale in the way that they met and in how they continue to view their relationship, even now. They feel very fated to have met each other, and a lot of inspiration came from the places their love story played out: Charleston and England, more specifically. In addition to the art and poetry Danielle had fallen in love with throughout her lifetime: Shakespeare, Psyche Revived by Cupid’s Kiss, Emily Dickinson’s work, and a few Taylor Swift lyrics.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Danielle and Josh first “met” in Charleston, South Carolina. It was the Summer of 2016, and they were 22. Danielle had just graduated from university and was working as a manager at the front desk of the Renaissance Charleston hotel in South Carolina. Josh had recently signed for the Glasgow Rangers and had travelled to South Carolina with the team for pre-season training. As fate would have it, the team was staying at the Renaissance Charleston hotel. “Met” is in quotation marks because even though Josh and the team stayed at the hotel for about two weeks, and Danielle was often at the front desk when Josh and the team were lounging in the lobby, Josh and Danielle never spoke to one another. However, a few days after the Rangers left the hotel to return home to Scotland, Danielle found a private message from Josh on Twitter. Josh had asked the valet for Danielle’s first and last name on his last day in Charleston. Many years, Instagram DM’s, WhatsApp messages, and FaceTime dates later, Josh flew Danielle out to England so they could meet in person for the first time. They both knew there wasn’t anyone else they wanted to be with after that trip. They dated long-distance for almost two years before Josh proposed to Danielle in October 2022 at the top of a hill in the Peak District.

Keeping up with the fairytale aesthetic, Danielle’s gown gave off a subtle shine with every turn she made. She paired it with a chic pair of Dior sling-backs to complete the elegant look.[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

When choosing each bridesmaid dress, Danielle wanted them to be unique to the very incredible woman wearing them. Danielle thought having varying patterns, colours, and styles is always more visually interesting, but because each individual in her bridal party has been so invaluable in how they have impacted her growth as a person, she knew their dresses had to be representative of that. For example, Shannon, one of the maids of honor, wore a very timeless Cinderella blue gown. The color blue is often associated with calmness and tranquility, and this is what she has always been for Danielle. A constant, calming, and guiding light throughout her life, beginning at university. Alia wore a gorgeous pink, floral dress as she represents a very powerful female role model for Danielle. As a scientist, a baker, a tennis star, and the cousin in Danielle’s “sisters” group chat that always keeps their spirits super high, she’s been a constant reminder for Danielle that you can be anything you want to be, even if you want to be more than one thing at more than one time. Every single design choice throughout this wedding has a huge background meaning, which is subtle to most, but meant a great deal to Josh and Danielle.

[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Josh’s tailor, Freddie Grant, created custom two-toned suits for the groomsmen, and even traveled from the UK to Newport to be onsite all wedding day for any fashion needs. [/field]

The food and signature cocktails were also reflective of not only the seaside setting, but the couple’s favorite things. Classic New England bites were passed during cocktail hour, like mini fish and chips, paired with lavender-topped signature drinks. For her, the Lavender French 75, and for him, the Elderflower Mocktail.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Florals were romantic, lush, and garden-inspired. A cascading design on the entry staircase was a favorite detail. Danielle and Josh were surrounded by a grounded floral arch during the ceremony. Danielle wanted the focal flower to be garden roses in pastel shades with a delicate touch of blue to complement the groomsmen’s attire. The Bridesmaids carried bouquets of sweet peas. Peonies, garden roses, ranunculus, delphinium, and sweet pea were featured throughout each design.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

A classic three-tiered cake dressed in florals sat in the dessert room at Rosecliff, allowing for a private moment between Danielle and Josh to enjoy their first slice.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

Poetry was a constant throughout the design as a major source of inspiration. Emily Dickinson’s books of poetry were gifted to the bridesmaids, quotes were used throughout the paperie design, and invitation designs (moon, statues, stars) were all found throughout the Rosecliff grounds.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Not pictured in the gallery, but thought it might be worth a mention: we included butterfly wax seals on our Save The Date letters. This was a more private reference to a miscarriage that we had experienced earlier in the year after we were engaged. We refer to him or her as our “butterfly baby” as we viewed them as a beautiful butterfly that just couldn’t stay. This is all the more meaningful considering I was 24 weeks pregnant at the wedding with a baby girl joining us in October – her due date being very close to the day Josh proposed and the anniversary of my grandfather’s passing.

[/field]

My vision for the Find Your Seat element of the cocktail hour was brought to life by Laura Elizabeth Patrick, who created all of our wedding Paperie. It is meant to look like a fine art painting of the rolling hills of the Peak District in England, where Josh proposed to me privately in mid-October. He had called my father beforehand to ask for permission, only to find out that the day was especially meaningful as this was also the anniversary of my grandfather’s (on my dad’s side) passing. The excerpt from Shakespeare’s Great Expectations presented on the ceremony programs is an element that Josh and I know draws on incredibly relevant parallels to how we came to know one another. Our lives would have been very different had that one very fateful day in Charleston, South Carolina, not occurred. You will notice a Taylor Swift lyric included on the wedding invitation suite. This is also an ode to that very specific way in which Josh and I saw each other for the first time.

We chose Rosecliff Mansion sight unseen and despite never actually having been to Rhode Island. I remember seeing it for the first time during my search online and telling my father there was no other venue in the United States that I could get married at, lol. It was stunning and the perfect backdrop for the aesthetic I knew I wanted to create. Rhode Island was also an ideal halfway point between Josh’s friends and family, located in England, and mine, located all over the US. If you’ve ever been to Newport, it goes without saying that it is simply a lovely place to visit. We appreciated the idea that our closest friends and family would experience this very special piece of the US, as nearly none of our guests had ever been there, especially our UK guests, as Newport is not a well-known US holiday destination for them.

A Dreamy European-Inspired Wedding at Hummingbird Nest Ranch

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The couple chose a sophisticated palette of black and white for a modern touch, complemented by warm neutrals to create a cozy yet luxurious reception atmosphere. The ceremony was designed in all-white with ghost chairs, giving it a clean and angelic feel.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Inspired by a European aesthetic with a nod to Tuscany, the wedding was designed to feel ethereal, romantic, and modern. The couple wanted guests to feel like they were “walking into heaven,” with soft, warm neutrals, black-and-white contrasts, and organic elements like stone table numbers and natural vases. The combination of classic elegance and raw, natural textures created a dreamy yet contemporary atmosphere.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

In 2021, we had some time between leases for our living situation and decided to get an Airbnb in NYC for three weeks to spend time with our friends on the East Coast. Before the trip, Matt had mentioned wanting to visit the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and made a plan for us to go there four days into our trip (Sept 16, 2021). While we were walking around the rose gardens, he started telling me how grateful he was for me and how happy he was to have met me. He got down on one knee and proposed! He had photographers hidden, and they photographed the whole thing. He also managed to have both our parents as well as a handful of close friends fly into the city. Afterward, he took me to a rooftop in Manhattan with a great view of the city, and I was surprised by ~20 of my closest friends and family. It was one of the best nights of our lives!

Moody Garden Party Wedding With Architectural Flow At Biltmore Arizona

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]White, pink, green, blue, purple[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Riley and Juan drew inspiration from the iconic Frank Lloyd Wright architecture of their wedding venue, the Arizona Biltmore, to create a textural, moody garden party atmosphere. This historic Arizona landmark, known for its unique design and old Hollywood glamour, was also sentimental to Riley, who has childhood memories of visiting the space with her father. Its beautifully designed gardens and corridors allowed the couple and their guests to wander the landscape and capture stunning photos with ease.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Riley and Juan’s story began at an advertising agency, where they first met as colleagues. What started as a warm friendship blossomed into something deeper after a year of getting to know one another. Five years later, during a visit to see Riley’s parents in Scottsdale, Arizona, Juan decided it was the perfect moment to propose. The occasion was carefully planned. Juan’s parents traveled from Las Vegas to join Riley’s family for the special visit, making the moment even more meaningful. The proposal took place in the intimacy of Riley’s childhood home — private and heartfelt, just as Riley had always envisioned.[/field]

A Tuscan Wedding Weekend Inspired by Jane Austen’s World

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The color palette of light purple, blush, dusty pink, ivory, soft blue, green, and white added a radiant touch, complementing the natural splendor of Tuscany.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Shelby and Brenden’s wedding was a mesmerizing celebration that wove together the artistic and cultural heritage of Tuscany with the timeless elegance and romanticism of Jane Austen’s Georgian England. The result was an event imbued with old-world charm, sophistication, and joy, perfectly complementing the historic beauty of Villa Cetinale. The wedding theme centered on the harmonious blend of Roman Baroque culture and English Regency refinement—a tribute to Villa Cetinale, where these two extraordinary worlds converge. This unique concept was brought to life with a fresh, modern twist that celebrated joy, delicacy, and timeless beauty. This celebration was more than a wedding—it was an experience designed to immerse guests in a story of love, tradition, and refinement. From the lush citrus gardens to the soft pastel hues of the décor, every detail paid homage to the captivating convergence of Tuscan heritage and the Regency-era charm of Jane Austen’s world. “There is no charm equal to the tenderness of the heart.” – Jane Austen.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

“We knew we wanted to be together, so November of 2019, only 4 months after moving in together, and 5 after graduating, Brenden popped the question at 2 am on the day after Thanksgiving with family in NYC. I was beyond thrilled to start wedding planning and planning our lives together, er but life had other plans, and Covid shut down any plans of my dream wedding shortly. Nearly 3 years later, plans had stalled, and time was flying by. We had embarked on a vacation in Kiawah Island, South Carolina, with family for a nice fall getaway. Little did I know, during a family photo shoot, Brenden had planned a surprise proposal in front of everyone. Our yellow Labrador retriever wore a timely bandana reading ‘Will you marry my Dad?’ The first time around was a bit less than planned, so this 2nd go around was quite different and special! It was one of the best days ever and truly kicked off our wedding journey!” – Shelby, the bride.

The food and beverage offerings featured Tuscan-inspired dishes paired with a must-have cocktail: the iconic Hugo. Served in elegant champagne glasses, garnished with fresh mint leaves and red berries, the drink added a chic and refreshing touch. Late into the evening, guests indulged in a playful surprise of mini burgers and French fries, a nod to the couple’s modern, lighthearted spirit.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Floral arrangements were thoughtfully curated to echo the soft, romantic tones, with seasonal blooms, creating an atmosphere of refined elegance. “In my mind, the main objective was to not detract from the natural beauty and balance of the villa. I jokingly told my mom I didn’t want any florals because Cetinale is so beautiful, we didn’t need them. That being said, we chose florals that complemented and blended with Cetinale’s charm. “Timeless elegance” was a phrase often repeated throughout our conversations about dreams for our big day. Maintaining the authenticity of the region and the Villa was extremely important to us. Because this was our focus, I think the decor was our twist on that golden era. I wanted to maintain the old world charm and elegance that could have been missed with an outdoor reception, so we opted for a lot of crystal and gold for an elegant but airy feel. Finally, the florals we chose were in varying shades of pinks with pops of blue and greenery with wide variation in size and texture of the surrounding area.” – Shelby, the bride.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

True to their love for Italian culture, Shelby and Brenden delighted their guests with a culinary journey that blended tradition with interactive experiences. The pièce de résistance was a Millefeuille cake, freshly assembled in front of the guests in a vibrant, celebratory atmosphere. Guests joined in singing as the couple participated in its preparation—a memorable moment of unity and joy.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Welcome party inspiration: The welcome party was an informal, convivial evening, but far from ordinary. The protagonists were yellow, white, hints of blue, chamomile, and stone elements—all in perfect harmony with Cetinale and its Citrus Garden. “For us, the most important objective of the welcome party was fun! This was the first time many of our loved ones met, so we wanted it to be a casual and playful event. Again, capturing the spirit of Cetinale was so important to us. We hosted the welcome party in the citrusgardenn so the decor consisted of baskets of lemons, crisp white flowers, and blue toile tablecloths for contrast. To create a casual vibe, we chose to incorporate vintage bocce, badminton, delicious pizza and gelato trucks, and plenty of beer, spritz, and prosecco, along with an authentic Tuscan band under strings of light.” – Shelby, the bride

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

Welcome party fashion: Shelby wanted to incorporate a sentimental element into her welcome party. What better way to do that than by customizing the gown her mom wore on her wedding day? Shelby had her mom’s Jessica McClintock wedding gown shortened and modernized by Mika Inatome Bridal.

An Intimate Autumn in Italy Wedding at Antico Benessere

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]From Laura, the wedding planner:
Soft autumn colors: dusty shades of green, earth, brown, light terracotta, nude pink, warm white[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

From Laura, the wedding planner: A warm, inviting celebration, surrounded by the rich colors of autumn and the beauty of nature. The chosen flowers, soft tones, and the addition of some rustic touches created a romantic atmosphere without overwhelming the space. The secret to the perfect ambiance was the right balance between a romantic, more rustic feel rather than an extravagant one, with a few elements that highlight authenticity through the use of natural materials like wood, glass, and light fabrics. The warm welcome and festive atmosphere were the key to creating a joyful day, relaxed and not overly formal.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

From Chiara, the bride: Our story began in our teenage years, when we were in the same class at high school. After three years, the deep friendship that bound us turned into something more intense, and after another ten years of dating, marriage was the natural next step in our story. During a romantic dinner to celebrate our tenth anniversary, while I was distracted, he quietly placed a small box with a ring in my hands. There was no need for words (we’re both quite shy!), and in that moment, I quickly reached him with my eyes full of tears to say yes!

From Chiara, the bride: The wedding dress was love at first sight and also a bit of a meant-to-be choice. It had already become one of my favorites when I saw it in an Instagram post. To my surprise, I found it hanging in the fitting room on the day of my appointment at Spose di Gio atelier. Once I tried it on, I completely fell in love with it! The skirt is made in Magnolia Mikado, with a lace top and long sleeves. The veil is made of rebrodé lace and silk tulle by Anna Ceruti, lent to me by my husband’s sister. After the cake cutting, I changed into a more comfortable dress for the evening party. The knee-length dress was made of silk tulle with a dark green satin belt, matching the groom’s bow tie.

The jacket and cuff buttons are covered in blue satin to match the lapel. The cufflinks and watch are family heirlooms, passed down from my maternal grandfather. From Chiara, the bride: The menu was a typical one from the Bergamasco area, featuring an island-style appetizer buffet (with cured meats and local cheeses accompanied by jams, sundried tomatoes, pickled vegetables, stuffed olives, and stuffed chili peppers, as well as warm rustic and fried treats, and finger foods such as tartare of Scottona beef, and mini tarts with robiola mousse, berries, and dried fruit…). There were two first courses (a risotto and traditional Bergamasco casoncelli) and a main course of meat (veal fillet cooked medium-rare with blueberry sauce and a potato tart). During the aperitif, spritz was served, while during lunch, the wines offered were Riesling and Barbera. Afterward, there was draft beer and a selection of liqueurs, all available at the open bar.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]From Caterina, the floral designer:
The mood of the wedding was natural, romantic, and elegant, with a stunning floral arrangement featuring garden roses, astilbe, lisianthus, and seasonal flowers, matching the beautiful autumn inspired palette of the event.[/field]

For our church ceremony, we chose a harp and violin duo. For the reception we opted for a festive atmosphere and dancing, curated by Rossella Fornaroli.

A Colorful Fashion Forward Private Estate Wedding

[field title=”Wedding Colors”]The colors are vibrant and playful with iridescent touches. Featuring shades of pink, orange, sage, and pops of blue.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Jen came up with a bold idea to have their wedding at Miles’ family shore house on the bay in Strathmere, NJ. After deciding on this at-home venue, Jen and Miles picked their first dance song: “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” by the Beach Boys. This choice set the tone for their wedding, which they envisioned as fun, vibrant, slightly retro, and a bit funky. To bring this vision to life, they enlisted Kristin Phalines of KyleMichelle Weddings. She transformed the backyard wedding into a joyful, exciting celebration where Jen and Miles could tie the knot. The design featured an open-air tent, stunning florals, a disco ball installation, playful linens, rattan accents, and serpentine tables.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]The weekend after one of their friend’s weddings, Jen wanted to have a “low-key” weekend down the shore at Miles’ family house, but Miles had other ideas. Miles had invited his best friends Connor, Kevin, and Kevin’s wife, Ali to come hang out and of course to be around for the proposal. Unfortunately, they woke up to a chilly, rainy day the day Miles wanted to propose. To combat some of the pre-proposal nerves, he suggested they go to the boardwalk to play mini-golf. Jen was a little suspicious of the way Miles had been acting early in the weekend and after they got back from mini golf (Jen lost badly and does not like to lose), she confronted Miles over lunch and said, “you know for some reason I thought you were going to propose this weekend, but the day has been so normal that I don’t think that anymore.” And Miles did a great job laughing it off and assuring her it was not the weekend for that. However, a few hours later, Miles suggested they take their dog, Carl, for a walk on the beach before dinner. This was a pretty normal occurrence, so Jen didn’t think much of it (even though Miles was rushing her out of the house for some reason). They got to the beach, let Carl off the leash to run, started walking, and about 10 seconds in, Miles got down on one knee and pulled out the ring box he had in his pocket. Neither Jen nor Miles really remember what he said when he asked, but it was an enthusiastic (while crying/laughing) “yes” from Jen. They started back toward Miles’ shore house and one of Miles’ friends came out of the dunes and had captured photos of the whole thing. Once they got back to the house, Miles surprised Jen again by having invited her parents and close girlfriends down for a small engagement party! Later that night, Jen had the crazy idea of, “what if we just got married here?” at the shore house. [/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Jen and Miles’ wedding was also uniquely catered by Miles’ family restaurant, La Porta, located in Media, PA. Expert restaurant management group, Stove and Co., was brought in to help with the day-of service and bartending. Their signature drinks were an orange crush (Miles’ favorite) and a spicy margarita (Jen’s favorite). The menu featured a mix of italian-meets-Jersey-shore fare, with specialties like lolipop lamb chops, a full raw bar, a carving station with roasted turkey breast and beef tenderloin, and a spicy ravioli ala vodka. [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Sebesta Designs came in to create an amazing floral display, featuring bright pinks, oranges, and greenery. The bride’s bouquet featured pink/coral anthurium,
raspberry garden roses, lavender mikado spray roses, peach and coral ranunculus, and orange/coral/gold free spirit garden roses framed by draping green hanging amarathus and wispy sprays of chartreuse pennycress. Sebesta created an incredible flower arch to frame the front of the house, under which Jen and Miles were married. In the tent, the same flowers were artfully arranged into mini vases and arrangements for the tables. The centerpiece of the tent was a grouped disco ball display framed by chartreuse greenery which was stunning and unique in contrast to the traditional black and white checkerboard dancefloor. [/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Jen and Miles chose three smaller cakes for display, created by New June bakery. The cake that Jen and Miles cut was a baby blue heart-shaped matcha berry cake decorated in the retro lambeth style, complete with red cherries. There were four other cake flavors for guests to sample. [/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]The ceremony was performed by two of Miles’ childhood friends, clocking in at around 12 minutes, and complete with lots of fun anecdotes and stories as a celebration of Jen and Miles’ love. Short and sweet. Miles and Jen exchanged private vows during their first look at the beach where they got engaged earlier in the day. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Music was very important to Jen and Miles, and they chose EBE Talent Band, Pop Philly as their ceremony and reception artists. Jen and Miles’ first dance was to “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” by the Beach Boys. To continue the fun, retro vibe, Jen and Miles asked Pop Philly to play mostly 70s, 80s, and 90s dance music, which had the dancefloor full all night. Jen’s night was made when the band ended the night with one of her favorite songs (and perfect way to end the wedding), “Last Dance” by Donna Summer. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]With the wedding at Miles’ family shore house, where he and his three older brothers grew up, Jen and Miles wanted to pay homage to the years of fun the family had along the way. Miles and his brothers had named the house years prior, the “PALace,” so Jen and Miles made custom sweatshirts for their families with the unofficial slogan of their wedding “Party at the PALace.” This was also printed on the koozies available to guests to take home! [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Jen had the idea to end the ceremony with her and Miles walking away from the house and getting into a getaway car. Luckily, Miles’ dad had just the thing for them: a green 1997 Bentley Azure convertible. Miles and Jen hopped into the car, and Addy, their photographer, hopped into the back seat with them to get some of Jen and Miles’ favorite photos of the day–them speeding off into the sunset (even if it was just around the block). This joyful tented wedding in the Texas Hill Country featured a rich fall color palette full of texture and warmth. While the bride and groom weren’t tied to any design specifics when starting the planning process, they knew they wanted it to have a garden feel and for florals to be at the forefront of their design. Correlating colors were tied in through the mismatched bridesmaid’s dress and linens, and their gallery wall-styled seating chart. They loved their venue, Windemere Farms, and didn’t want to do too much to take away from its natural beauty.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

From the bride: The original ruse was that I was photographing my sister in law’s family out at Houston Oaks Country Club – where they spent time as kids growing up. They have a gorgeous little 15th-century chapel that was transported to Houston from France, where we met. She told me to set up my gear while she grabbed the family for photos. Pulling everything out of my bag, I heard the chapel door open and close behind me. I turned around to see Vinnie walking towards me. Immediate tears on my end…He pulled me back to the front of the chapel, read me the sweetest letter (which I am so thankful he had because I truly blacked out from bliss and excitement), and asked me to marry him. After a very loud shout of “Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes,” we were joined by both of our families to celebrate!

The bride’s dress was Jenny Yoo, purchased from Anthropologie. The bow straps were a custom addition she had done through a local tailor. We love that while she embraced a trending style (bows!), she did so in a way that felt timeless and true to her.

A big part of Ashlen’s design vision was having her bridesmaids in various colors and patterns, all in various hues of green and blue. While mismatched dresses have become a wedding design staple in the past few years, we love that the approach for this wedding placed a larger emphasis on pattern and didn’t shy away from more vibrant colors. The result was perfectly curated and full of personality.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

For this hill country wedding, the bride and groom served a Tex-Mex feast for their guests. Fajitas and chips, and queso filled the plates, and the margaritas were flowing. Alongside that were two featured signature cocktails — an Aperol Spritz and a Godfather. The drinks were garnished with a drink stirrer of their dog and served alongside custom cocktail napkins.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The fall color palette was on full display between the lush florals by Rose & Rae Design, the linens from BBJ La Tavola, the mismatched bridesmaids’ dresses, and the paper goods and signage done in a calligraphy style. With the emphasis on the garden-style florals, we knew all of the other design elements needed to align with and highlight the florals without overpowering them or being too plain. When sourcing the linens, we wanted them to read “neutral” but with warmth and pattern. So we selected muted latte and cameo (like a muted blush) linens for the round tables and selected a large-scale floral patterned napkin that had pink and light teal tones. On the farmhouse table, cocktail highboy tables, and cake table, we opted for a muted pink patterned runner, which differed from the napkin selection but complemented it perfectly. All of this added warmth to the tent and highlighted the floral tones that were placed on top of it. As for the tent design, we featured the head table running the length of the tent, which was adorned with lush floral meadows and candles. Round tables were placed symmetrically surrounding it, with the bar on one side of the tent and the band and dance floor on the other. When guests entered the space, they were greeted with the couple’s seating chart — a collection of mismatched frames on a wallpapered backdrop. All of this was accentuated by calligraphy-style paper goods with a vibrant blue accent color.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The bride and groom had a small dairy-free and gluten-free cake for cutting, which was surrounded by lush florals. For their guests, they had a decked-out candy bar, which was a nod to the groom’s sweet tooth. Jars were filled with everything from Swedish fish to sour patch kids, and more. Guests could grab a bag and take their loot of candy to go.

From the bride: Another detail that was extremely important to us was communion. We wanted this to be our first act as a married couple and truly be a time of worship. We had friends lead in a song live while we served each other communion, and then immediately served our wedding party and parents communion. It was such a sweet part of our day.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

From the bride: The biggest special detail was that our day was so rainy and not ideal weather. But as soon as Vinnie and I had our first look, we both immediately told each other, “We are getting married in the rain and it’s going to be amazing.” I love that we chose to embrace the weather of the day because I cannot imagine our day any other way. We are so thankful for everyone who gladly sat in the rain/mist and celebrated alongside us. From the planner: The weather was certainly a curveball, but one that the couple, their guests, and their vendor team embraced wholeheartedly. We love that Ashlen & Vinnie didn’t let it detract from their day, but instead leaned in. The result was like something out of a Nicholas Sparks movie, and it made for a memory that no one will forget!
