From the bride… Honestly I had never thought about what my wedding would be like before planning it. I knew I wanted something simple, elegant and classy. I knew that I wanted to have lots of flowers everywhere. I think the best part of the wedding process was not having a vision and working with someone to help you create a vision. When you don’t have expectations, you are open minded to every suggestion, and you get to be inspired as you go through the whole process.

Our color inspiration and style came from our venue the London Hotel. We loved the modern clean lines and did not want to compete with the beautiful views. We love the color blue so that was an easy choice. Jacqueline was amazing and presented us with a few color palette options that complemented the London. Ultimately we landed on navy, white, green, and silver. Our vision developed over time but at some point I think we started referring to our style as an “english garden”.

Our ceremony incorporated so many family heirlooms I don’t even know where to begin. Our Yalmukas were hand crochet by my Grammy (maternal grandmother), Tallits were from 4 grandparents to make our chuppah. We incorporated the jewish parents prayer at the ceremony to recognize our parents. The welcome table had Brandon’s grandmas silver platters that she had brought over from Germany. We used a kiddush cup from Sarah’s grandparents and a kiddush cup from Brandon’s great grandma that is over 120 years old. I surprised Brandon by having his ring engraved with our wedding date.

Both Brandon and I agree that the best moment was standing under the chuppah made from our families tallits. Having 5 of our grandparents there to see us get married (the first grandkids on both sides) made the whole night that much more special. Both sides of our families really came together to make our wedding so personal and I think all of their love for us and our love for each other made the weekend that much more special.

Our flowers were by Wisteria Lane, we loved that they get donated to elderly homes the next day. My Dress was Pronovias and purchased at LOHO Bride in Los Angeles. Our Butter End cake was amazing. I ate it for breakfast lunch and dinner the next three days.

One piece of advice for future brides, be as present as you possibly can, the day flies by and you (hopefully) only get to do it once. I was so lucky to wake up surrounded by my best girlfriends and family that kept me grounded and laughing from the moment I woke up until 3am the night of our wedding.

CMT’s Music City Star Jessica Mack’s Wedding at Moss Mountain Farm

If you’re a fan of all things Southern love, CMT’s Music City and utter romance with a hefty dose of blush, you’re going to do a little happy dance when you see the wedding Erin Wilson and Anne-Claire Allen are delivering today. Jessica Mack is the glowing Bride and her fete at Moss Mountain Farm is off the charts my friends—not to mention, full of lit-up smiling faces. Have a look for yourself right this way.

From Erin Wilson Photography… The bride, Jessica Mack, is a musician following her dreams to become a professional musician in Nashville on the show Music City on CMT, which follows her and a handful of cast members journey of being young in Nashville and following their dreams. Jessica is an absolute sweetheart and met Andreas (goes by Dre and he’s in med school right now) between season 1 and season 2 and they got engaged and started planning their wedding. They are a super fun and kind couple and they have a unique story about how they are saving themselves for marriage. They are truly what you see on the show and I was so honored to photograph their wedding. Just to know them is a blessing.

Their wedding took place at the MOST beautiful location in Arkansas. The venue is owned by P Allen Smith who has a show on PBS and he is a world renown Gardner and every location, and corner and view on the entire property is just breathtaking. The entire venue is 650 acres on the side of a mountain over looking the river. Each portion of the venue is broken up into sections and various perfectly designed gardens. Jessica and Dre had their ceremony down in the Rose Garden overlooking the river with is a circular garden surrounded by roses and it was absolutely stunning. The entire wedding was designed and planned by Anne-Claire Allen and she used Jessica’s favorite pastel color palette, specifically Jessica’s favorite color blush and accented it with small touches of buttery yellow and creams for a pop. Jessica is quite the southern belle and loved all the southern elegant classic touches for her wedding. Her gown was classic and soft and flowy designed by Allison Webb. The groom Andreas had a handsome custom made suit by a local Little Rock Arkansas tailer Barakat Bespoke. The couple wanted the day to be about their friends and family coming to gather to celebrate and they wanted everyone to know how much they loved and appreciated them. After the ceremony the guests could wander the gardens having an appetizer and taking in the view. They danced the night away in front of the buttery yellow classic southern home in the center of the property under the big oak tree and dancing lights. They wanted to have a big dance party and celebrate with their friends. They ended the evening with a beautiful sparkler send off and swept away in a gorgeous burgundy classic car off to their honeymoon.

Intimate & Minimalist Celebration on the French Riviera at Cap d’Antibes

Coralie and Rei’s energy is like Yin and Yang, gentleness and strength, represented by the elements of water and rock in the background of their union, as Linda Champenois explains. The two actresses chose an intimate affair with a minimal vibe for ther union, letting their surroundings serve as a stunning backdrop. Jeremy Froeliger‘s imagery encapsulates their deep love with every breathtaking portrait—see them all here in the full gallery.

From Linda Champenois… Coralie and Rei’s relationship began three years ago; a meeting, a bombshell, some bursts of laughter, an “I Love You”, a proposal on stage. The actresses wanted an intimate ceremony with only the two of them and to celebrate their union in a way unique to them.

Their energy is like Yin and Yang, gentleness and strength, represented by the elements of water and rock in the background of their union. Coralie and Rei are like to opposite pieces but complementary. Their love and their complicity was palpable.

Linda Champenois took care of the scenography of this instant in life, natural and authentic, free like them… with a sophisticated floral design realized by Esther Lamarche. Solange, our celebrant who united them on this amazing place at Cap d’Antibes. Jeremy knew how to catch and immortalize this instant of life. Thanks to him, we can relive this moment through his gorgeous shots.

A Vibrant Maui Destination Wedding at Sugar Beach Estate

When the bride is from Australia, and the groom is from the States… the only place that was the perfect halfway point and ticked every one of their wedding must-have boxes also happens to be a place of paradise. Yup, you guessed right! This gorgeous wedding day captured by SASs Photography and planned by Platinum Weddings & Events took place on the happiest little island of Maui at Sugar Beach Estate. From her chic Vera Wang gown to the tropical blooms from Dellables, we can’t gush enough about the gorgeousness of this wedding day…

From the bride… Scott and Lauren are the classic – Boy meets Girl. Boy likes Girl, Girl likes Boy. The complicating factor is that they lived over 5000 miles away from each other: Lauren lived in Australia and Scott lived in Washington DC. Long, long distance story short, Lauren moved to Washington, D. C. And their Maui wedding planning wasn’t far behind.

Lauren and Scott’s wedding day was more than the start of their marriage, it was their way of thanking their friends and family for supporting them through long distance, international move, and for helping make them the couple they are today. With that in mind they knew they had to incorporated these three factors: a) a location that combined fun with relaxation, b) amazing food, and c) a setting that would reflect them as a couple. Hawaii was an easy pick, particularly because it was half-way.

Lauren – a true beach gal at heart and Scott, a gentleman who will spend only so long sprawled on the beach, Hawaii ticked box a. It also has such amazing fresh food and local produce that we knew we would be in good hands for box b. Most importantly Hawaii had the ability to capture the essence of them as a couple: it could be as fun and down to earth just as much as it could be classic and elegant. We knew that the wedding was the end event of an amazing week on Maui and therefore, needed to be big, full of energy and packing all the “WOW” factor. Lauren and Scott knew when they started planning the wedding that we really wanted the beautiful backdrop of Maui to speak for itself and simply to add touches that highlighted and showcased what the island had to offer. This style fitted them perfectly: elegant, classic and fresh.

They choose a simple color scheme of white, gold and greenery. The venue, Sugar Beach Estate, provided the most stunning waterfront backdrop, which was ideal as the space did not overpower nature’s beauty, yet continued to wow even after the sun went down. Florals were a big priority, with dreams of hanging orchids and greenery. They trusted their planner’s recommendation for the florist based on the vision they had given her and they definitely exceeded the dream! (see the reaction photo alone!).

The vendors executed Scott and Lauren’s vision completely and then some… They definitely went above beyond, bringing extra lawn games, gifting chargers for the table setting, and adding additional florals. It was those little touches that made them realize how grateful they were for selecting incredible vendors with the huge help of Platinum Weddings & Events.

Family is incredibly important to both Scott and Lauren and they wanted to involve them as much as possible. Scott’s father, John, was the officiant. This was such a memorable moment, especially considering Scott’s grandfather had married his mother and father. Both mothers and the father of the bride performed readings which left the guests with teary eyes. The kept their bridal party small, consisting only of their siblings. They were truly surrounded by love and family. One of the most unforgettable moments was Scott’s cousin, Olivia’s performance. Olivia had never performed in front of the family before, so it was a special treat for her to perform. Everyone was in awe from the first note and her father, Rigo, had tears of pride streaming down his face.

Although, the tears had already started before Lauren took her first steps down the aisle, Lauren walked down the aisle to the song Scott wrote for their first Christmas together – “Loz’s song”, a one of kind and complete expression of Scott’s love for Lauren. It detailed their love story which was the perfect tune to take those steps to the pinnacle of their love story – their ceremony. Other special details of the day included: a veil borrowed from Lauren’s best friend Bernadette (who couldn’t be present because she had just given birth) and Lauren’s earrings that were remade from her grandmothers jewelry. Lauren also hand-painted flip flops for each of the ladies to change into when the dancing started which matched the handcrafted beach welcome bags she made for each of the guests. The two most unforgettable moments of the night happened after the band started playing. The first time Lauren travelled to meet Scott’s family, he sent her a warning – “Beware, our family has this weird tradition with the chicken dance.” Once the chicken dance begins to play, the whole family circles around cousin Lala and performs the dance. This has happened in the middle of Rome, restaurants, Thanksgiving Dinners, and so a wedding was no different. Their incredible photographer Sydney of SASs Photography took the most amazing photos of family members mid-flight. Not to be out down, the Aussies also rallied to some classic Aussie rock making a dance circle and belting out some true Aussie songs… By the end of one Australian Ballard, it was the Aussies and the USA crews mixed together. It was at this point the wedding met every single expectation. Families and friends coming together as one incredible group, who were there because they shared love for one incredible couple. It was truly a dream come true. When planning a wedding, selecting your vendors is the most overwhelming and important task – you are trusting them to bring your vision life. None more so than the photographer, what they capture is the one token you keep forever and display. Sydney from SASs Photography is a great friend of the couple and they struggled with wanting her to photograph the wedding and also attend and enjoy the wedding. With every photographer considered, no one could live up to the style and talent that they love about Sydney’s work. They are so glad she was the one to capture the day. Her eye is perfect for those in between moments that really evoke the emotion of the day. Because she was familiar to both the bride and groom, it was was easy to feel at ease in front of her camera and were able to communicate wants perfectly. The end result was a flawless album, where you can’t help but feel the emotion that poured out at every moment of the day. The day ran seamlessly, much thanks to Amber from Platinum Wedding and Events. Amber was like the best friend who was right there helping you plan your wedding. She was happy to give suggestions and got just as excited by Lauren’ little details. The team clearly had amazing relations with the local vendors, which was made even more evident by the vendors going above and beyond. Amber was even standing at the end of the aisle holding baby Palmer – the newest edition to the family.

Two things Lauren and Scott were grateful for on the day was, first trusting their planner and letting go of the reigns on the day. Lauren’s advice for future brides, “you know you have selected your planner so trust them,” Lauren explained that they had been in constant contact with Amber through the process and felt like they were old friends. Letting her do her thing on the day really took the stress and worry away. Secondly, Lauren and Scott did a first look. It may not be for everyone, but taking that time for just Scott and Lauren before the celebrations kicked off was such a sweet moment amongst a beautiful day. Scott’s reaction was beautiful and it allowed the couple to just enjoy their emotions. The upside was that after the ceremony they didn’t have to rush to doing couples or family portraits. Lauren and Scott had intentionally planned for their family to also have a “first look” and did all of their family photos before the ceremony had begun. This allowed them to step straight into the cocktail reception and really enjoy having that time with their guest. Lauren and Scott would highly recommend this to future couples, who maybe aren’t going the traditional ceremony route. With a venue as special and incredibly decorated, Scott and Lauren also wanted to look the part. Lauren prioritized comfort but did not want to sacrifice her classic and elegant style. The Vera Wang gown selected from Carine’s Bridal was perfect. Lauren said loved it the moment she put it one, it just felt her and when she walked out to show her mum and mother-in-law, they both had a slow tear run down their face, she knew it was a done deal. With some many beautiful gowns out there, Lauren knew her gown was the perfect choice, because no matter how many she saw after trying it on, she always came back to it. “I loved that it was a classic style, the material was heavenly and yet it allowed me to feel sexy and did not stop me dancing on the dance floor.“ Lauren knew that because her dress was simple and elegant, she could do something bold for her bouquet – orchids spilling down in a big bouquet, was one of her favorite decisions and really just elevated the dress to WOW! Lauren also decided to change into a party-dress to finish off the night. Laure is the one gal who will close down the dance floor! It was special day and she really wanted to shine… The full sparkle dress was brought form a small Australian store and was the perfect Cinderella moment to end the night!

A Traditional Southern Wedding in Savannah With Subtle Boho Flair

This is just a universal wedding truth – Southern weddings are the sweetest. They are charming, romantic, nostalgic.. we could go on for days. Today’s gorgeous wedding in Savannah is the perfect example of why we love Southern weddings so much. Emily Burton Designs knew exactly what to do when her bride came to her with a dream of combining her two loves – boho decor and southern tradition… and boy is it stunning… The Happy Bloom captured every must-see moment. Just wait until you catch a glimpse of Amy Osaba’s unreal floral arrangements. Don’t miss out on this major dose of southern sweetness!

From Planner, Emily from Emily Burton Designs… When Hannah originally reached out for me to plan and design her wedding, she was obsessed with all things boho. She went dress shopping and all of the Boho dresses she thought she’d end up “saying yes to the dress” to.. Just weren’t the one. When Hannah said yes to her very formal Anne Barge dress, I knew I had a challenge ahead of me (merging the Boho look, which was very casual, with her now very formal and timeless wedding dress.). So I came up with the theme, “Southern Plantation Boho-Pottery Barn Bride”. Hannah loved all things pottery barn, so the vision of cement flower pots, dough bowls massive wood tables, and organic linens popped in my head.

The Flowers:
I wanted a pottery barn floral concept, with “like flowers” in little urns and cement pots. Like flowers are when you place one variety in a pot only, this gives the look of a little more structure and formality, but the cement and wood textures help to balance out the formality with the casual vibe.

The Bridesmaids Dresses:
We found the perfect mixture of Southern + Boho in the bridesmaids dresses, the lace on top was nod to the plantation feel, while the skirt was flowey and gave way to more of the boho vibe.

1) How was your wedding perfectly “Southern”? From the bride, Hannah… Where to begin?! From the live oak drive guests came down (while riding in a Savannah trolley, of course) to the Spanish moss dripping from every tree in the venue to the menu packed with southern favorites, every bit of our day was perfectly “Southern.” Our wonderful catering team served delicious low country shrimp and grits, blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream, sweet potatoes filled with brown sugar and so much more. My dress was an off white ballgown which just seemed to be traditional southern to me. Kyle wore an ivory jacket, a feather bowtie and his favorite black cowboy boots (the boots took a lot of convincing on his part). The tent was filled with southern accents included in our beautiful signage, the greenery dripping from the woven chandeliers, and elegant flowers at every turn! I just loved how our wonderful planner/designer, was able to create a perfect, southern wonderland inside our tent!

2) What was your vision for your wedding day? What made you choose certain colors or decor? My vision was to create a perfectly elegant, just slightly boho, low country ‘garden’ wedding. I wanted flowers and greenery galore, wanted to play up on the beautiful trees and Spanish moss which covered the property, and wanted my guests to have the most fun! I wanted to include darker, richer tones as we were getting married in November. After lots of debating, we decided on merlot, oxblood and dusty blue for our colors. Although I couldn’t find pictures online or in magazines of weddings which had used the colors, I just loved the combination of deep, rich fall colors with the lighter dusty blue/greys. I frequently told my planner that I wanted a mixture of bohemian and elegant and provided her with about a million ideas I had come up with. Thankfully, Emily Burton is a design genius and was able to turn my rambling into beauty. The tent was exactly what I had envisioned but had been unable to articulate all along!

3) What is the moment you remember most about your wedding day? This is a tough one because so many moments were so absolutely perfect, but if I had to pick one moment, it would be standing at the back of the aisle with my dad, getting ready to walk down the aisle to the love of my life and give him ‘my forever.’ As I stood behind our guests and looked ahead to my handsome fiancé, my beautiful bridesmaids and all of our sweet family and friends who drove hours to celebrate with us, I was absolutely overwhelmed. That’s the moment tears started flowing. I held it together for most of the day, but in that moment, my heart was racing, my hands were shaking and I truly was stunned at the outpouring of love standing in front of me. I would have never made it down that aisle if it weren’t for my dad holding onto me. The sun was setting just behind Kyle and our wedding party, the breeze was blowing the girls’ dresses and the silk ribbons hanging from their bouquets, and my fiancé looked more excited than I had ever seen him. Everywhere I looked there were faces of people that I love, and I remember telling myself to always remember that moment. I can still see that beautiful image in my head… It was the sweetest moment!

4) What’s next for you and your husband? We are finally settled in our new home on Skidaway Island and we are loving every minute of living in the low country! We are looking forwards to warmer weather so that we can spend our evenings and weekends on the water. We plan to enjoy married life, just as the two of us, for a year or so, and then… Bring on the babies! We are also planning a trip to Europe in 2019 with my family, so that is our next big adventure! In the mean time, we will be burning dinners and figuring out this marriage thing!

An Interior Designer’s Fall Wedding at Santa Barbara Historical Museum

When Rachael Simon set out to design her own wedding, she pulled her style sense straight from her daily work as an interior designer—and oh, did it pay off. The result is an autumn wedding for the books, layered with burnt orange and dusty peach, a floral-backed Pronovias dress and a reception so cozy you can’t help but want to stay a while. This Modern Romance joined in on all the fun and took care in delivering the most beautiful images.

From the Bride… As soon as we saw the venue, Nick and I knew that the Santa Barbara Historical Museum was the perfect place for our nuptials! We wanted to get married outdoors in our home state of California and to have an intimate wedding that felt personal and romantic. The Spanish-Colonial style museum has two outdoor courtyards, an upper and a lower, each with a fountain and beautiful Californian foliage. The perfect backdrop to our dream wedding.

I work as an Interior Designer and knew I’d want to create and oversee the wedding details, especially the furniture selection and table settings. Though it was a big commitment to plan much of the wedding ourselves, we had a lot of fun with it! We were lucky to find a great coordinator for the day of the ceremony, who helped keep us on schedule and made sure everyone knew where to go. She helped take the pressure off and really allowed us to enjoy the day.

The theme of our wedding was based on our beautiful outdoor venue, Spanish-inspired and romantic. The museum’s dusty pink walls and terra cotta roof dictated our warm but neutral color palette. Because the wedding was in October, I incorporated fall colors as well; mustard, rust, and some beautiful pops of dark plum as seen in the florals. I found our amazing florist, Wild Club, on Instagram. Her flowers were one of my favorite parts of our wedding. She captured our color palette perfectly, and I was especially in love with the dry grasses and pampas she placed on the ceremony arbor.

Keeping with the Spanish feel, I used different types of Spanish tile house numbers as our table numbers. I turned to one of my favorite design resources, Etsy, for romantic vintage elements like graduated brass candlesticks and vintage champagne coupes. A friend created a hand- drawn sketch of the venue that we used on our invitations and menus. I loved that personal touch!

We wanted the ceremony to feel authentic to us as a couple, non-traditional and very meaningful. We hired a Spanish guitarist to play during the ceremony and cocktail hour. My beautiful mom walked me down the aisle to our guitarist’s rendition of Going to California by Led Zeppelin. My step dad officiated the wedding, and we had friends and family recite some of our favorite poetry. The flowers around our arbor attracted hummingbirds and monarch butterflies, and we were surrounded throughout the ceremony with what seemed like magic.

I’m grateful to have found an amazing band with a lead singer who’s voice is powerful and angelic. She sang a gorgeous rendition of Your Song by Elton John for our first dance. Halfway through, we invited all the other couples at the wedding to join us under the string lights on the dance floor, and it was one of the most romantic moments of the whole day!

My simple advice to other brides is to keep your wedding as personal and authentic as you can. Know that all the time planning and any stress will be worth it the day of the wedding. Our wedding day was truly the best day of our lives!

A Beautiful Autumn Wedding at Gainey Vineyard

There’s nothing quite like the romance of a warm autumn wedding in Southern California. Today’s adorable couple tied the knot at Gainey Vineyard with a little help from the wedding planning pros at Amazing Days Events and a lot of incredible memories captured by Anna Delores Photography! From bouquets lush with olive branches, white roses and eucalyptus from Ella & Louie to a vineyard-inspired escort display that is literally Pinterest perfection – see all the beautiful details below …

From Anna Delores Photography… Niki and Mike were married on a perfect autumn day in October just north of Santa Barbara, in the Santa Ynez Valley. They selected Gainey Vineyard for their ceremony and reception.

With the help of Amazing Days Events and Ella & Louie floral design, their neutral, organic decor added to the already beautiful setting.

Niki’s bridesmaids wore blush pink and carried bouquets of white roses, eucalyptus, olive branches, and thistle (each bridesmaid also had her own unique greenery crown).

The bride is Greek, so the couple’s ceremony concluded with a traditional Greek crowning, performed by Niki’s parents. Guests tossed lavender into the air as the couple recessed down the aisle, and then enjoyed a full bar, lawn games, and a photo booth bus for cocktail hour.

The reception began with Niki and Mike’s first dance as husband and wife, and then a short dance set of two songs before sitting down to dinner by DJ’s California Catering. The weather was warm and lovely, the couple couldn’t keep their eyes off each other, and everyone danced into the night among the vines. It was a stunning wedding!

A Dreamy Late Summer, Early Fall Wedding at the Ashford Estate

A rope swing covered in heavenly blooms by Sebesta Design, the most beautiful bride ever in a lace Allure Bridals ballgown and an indoor ceremony scene that will leave you SPEECHLESS- these are just a few things you can expect to see in today’s stunning wedding from Emily Wren Photography! Prepare to fall head over heels for this one, guys…

From Emily Wren Photography… The color palette that Winne & Alex chose for their September wedding at Ashford Estate may be one of my all time favorites! This time of year can be unpredictable when it comes to the weather— will there be a late summer heat wave or will a sudden chill take the air? So what colors do you work with?

Winne & Alex found their palette within the seasonal transition, verdant summer greens, dreamy whites and pinks slipping into coppery autumn gold and deep burgundies. The couple’s florist, Corinne of Sebesta Design, expertly married late summer with early fall. The bride’s bouquet featured curling summer vines, white lisianthus, and ruffled pink peonies alongside butternut orange roses and ranunculus, oxblood dahlias, and scarlet astilbe.

Within the estate’s immaculate barn chapel, twining vines climbed along the rafters and arrangements along the aisle curled elegantly around the chairs set for the ceremony. For the altar, Corinne designed a spectacular mantle piece to complement the bride’s bouquet. It seemed to grow from the very stones of the fireplace, spilling over the edge of the mantle and pooling over the hearthstones.

Perhaps the only thing more striking than the flowers was the bride herself! Winne wore a beautiful lace ballgown that featured a champagne blush lining and stripes of chiffon for a tiered effect. Blush & Ivory Sonoma Wedding at Jacuzzi Vineyards

Wedding planning mishaps are bound to happen. But when said mishaps have anything to do with your wedding dress, stress levels go off the charts. That’s exactly what happened to this Bride when a seamstress error ruined her first dress a month before the Big Day. Ouch! Thankfully, she found her second dress—this dream dress—and she stole the show in it, as any bride should. Quintana Events prettied up the rest of this sunny Sonoma fete, while Natalie Bray joined in behind the lens for a gallery that is begging you to pin. it. all.

From Natalie Bray… Whoever says long distance relationships can’t be amazing was wrong in this case. Monique and Ryan fell head over heels for each other from the first time they met through mutual friends. They lived over 200 miles from each other and made plans to visit every weekend for a year. They just couldn’t stand to be apart.

After Ryan’s proposal they were inseparable and instantly knew they wanted a wedding in the special place of Sonoma. Also, as seen in the photos their blended families also hit it off.

One of their first “to do’s” was after getting engaged was to hire an amazing planner. Quintana Events took their dream celebration and turned it into reality. The theme was italian inspired with a touch of Elegant California glam. They wanted to transport their guests to a night to remember.

Personal touches were brought throughout with custom cork table place cards, handmade menu’s, and amazing florals adding life to the decor. Her mom also made the cake, which turned out beautifully.

Her final dress was her second dress option. Hard to believe, but it is true. Her first dress was ruined. I think the second dress is perfection! See more of the story below.

From the bride regarding her gown… I had chosen a gown originally from a couture line and wanted it customized by a seamstress. It took me over a year to have the gown made and then I took it to the seamstress. She had been working on it for 3 months and One month before the wedding I went with my mom to go for a fitting and the seamstress had destroyed my dress. I immediately took the gown and left and went directly to a bridal boutique. After a glass of champagne and a couple tears I started the dress shopping progress again. The first gown I tried on was a backless mermaid gown that is champagne color with off white overlay design. My favorite part of this gown was the gorgeous draping of beading across the back. While trying on the gown a woman came in to the boutique that had seen me through the shop windows and came in to tell me how gorgeous I looked. I instantly knew I had to buy this gown. I had never felt that beautiful in a gown and it definitely had the wow factor I wanted. Because I needed the dress within the month I had to buy the sample gown and rush my alterations. I added appliqués to the shoulders to give the gown a cap sleeve.

From Mary & Maurizio – Quattro Studio… A wedding in Tuscany at the lovely Villa Cora in Florence was a must for these travel enthusiasts, Brooke and Damien. Their dream wedding destination was an intimate destination in a city with an abundance of romantic energy, beautiful art history and lots of delicious food and wine! The couple met on LinkedIn back in 2013 and dated for four years before Damien finally popped that question – the question every girl waits her whole life to be asked!

The couple teamed with The Tuscan Wedding to create the romantic wedding of their dreams. The photographers, Mary & Maurizio – Quattro Studio, and videographer, Waterfalls Visual, had an amazing landscape to capture the most precious moments of this beautiful wedding. The couple wanted their guests to experience Tuscany and enjoy the famous Italian wine as much as they do, so with the help of The Tuscan Wedding, a luxurious wine tasting was the perfect preview to the beautiful ceremony to begin later that evening.

Brooke was stunning in a strapless white mermaid dress with fabulous crystal embellishments by Lori Allen. This look was topped off with drop diamond earrings and a diamond necklace that could not go unnoticed! Her exquisite makeup look was done by the lovely Cherie Spisso which complemented her beachy wave hair style so perfectly. We cannot forget about the groom who looked so dashing in his jet black Ermenegildo Zegna suit. An extra sentimental touch was the cufflinks Damien wore – they belonged to Brooke’s grandfather who could not be in attendance. The timeless and ever so elegant wedding décor designed by The Tuscan Wedding was filled with beautiful ivory and blush florals everywhere.

Il Giardino delle Fate truly worked their flower magic on this romantic day. The floral centerpiece was the most mesmerizing wedding arch… an over-abundance of lovely ivory and blush flowers topped with soft ivory drapery. White roses cascaded down both sides of the aisle to set the stage perfectly for Brooke’s unforgettable entrance. Brooke and Damien’s lavish intimate wedding ceremony, included 40 guests and was nothing short of an extravaganza with a combination of many traditional and unconventional experiences. The first tradition was the lighting of a unity candle which both the bride and groom’s mothers joined in for to symbolize the union of the couple as one. This was followed by hand fasting where the love birds hold hands and promise to love each other today, tomorrow and for all of eternity! Wait…did someone say [love] birds? After the two shared their first kiss as a married couple, magical white doves appeared.

The couple truly celebrated an old tradition as they jumped over the broom to signify their entrance into a new life (or the sweeping away of their past single life), what a memorable finish! After the ceremony came to an end, this lovely couple has had a walk together with the photographers, Mary & Maurizio – Quattro Studio, and the videographer, Waterfalls Visual, among the beautiful hills and monuments of Florence to catch some amazing shoots. Then The Tuscan Wedding guided all guests to join the newlyweds outside for a cocktails and aperitif. A selection of delectable catering was provided by Villa Cora. There were three courses – Italian style! Tomato and bread crochet with burrata cheese, ravioli filled with ricotta cheese and spinach topped with tomato and lastly beef fillet with potatoes, zucchini and tomatoes.

We cannot forget about dessert – an ice cream truck arrived to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth and then the final masterpiece, wedding cake. This four-tier classic beauty created by Sugar Cups, was finished with ravishing light blush and ivory flowers. As the reception came to an end, Brooke and Damien wanted to leave their guests with one last bit of entertainment… And what better way to do this than a dazzling fireworks show?! What an electric way to end the perfect evening. Brooke and Damien are truly soulmates and made for each other, this day really represented the intimate bond they share. Our team was so appreciative to have met this lovely couple and we wish them a life full of happiness and love together.

Colorful Anniversary Brunch Inspiration at Stella’s in Charleston

In my next life, I think I’m going to need to do a brunch wedding. Brunch is kind of genius, no? A gathering centered around good food, a beautiful table and leaves you with an entire day afterward to celebrate… sounds brilliant to me. After seeing this fete planned and designed by Pure Luxe Bride, I’m convinced, and I think you’ll be too. Theo Milo captured every colorful detail for an event that is bursting with love.

A Romantic Jewel-Toned Wedding at Klentner Ranch

This stunning wedding captured by Michelle Beller and planned by Wild Heart Events is jewel toned moodiness done oh-so right. Coco Rose Design wowed us with her romantic floral arrangements of deep red, burgundy and lush greens. The ceremony site will completely take your breath away… and get this – the groom and his father built the arbor themselves, how sweet is that!! See all the swoon-worthy details below.

From the Bride and Groom… Being from Santa Barbara (Central Coast), and my husband from Detroit, we wanted the elements of our wedding to be a representation of our lives as individuals as well as together. We chose colors and moods that spoke for the regions and culture we hold dearest in our hearts. Local sourced seafood for cocktail hour, signature drinks you might find us sipping on downtown, dinner that was both sophisticated and comfortable, and a tequila shot for the toast!

From the beginning, our dream was to have the best party to celebrate our most memorable day. The design elements of our wedding exemplified our love for life and the cultures that embody it. Traveling from East Coast, West, and abroad, guests were welcomed with French knit bags full of culinary favorites from Santa Barbara and Detroit, a welcome note with locals only spots, and some party favors for those who couldn’t wait to celebrate. With all of the vision and moodiness flying around, the groom was feeling like he needed a piece of the action, so he and his father designed and built the arbor where the ceremony would take place.

There were many moments that could be considered our favorite. For the love, it was first look…. That moment where it is just the two of you and nothing planned can interfere. For the family, it was seeing everyone sitting with a glass of Rose”, happily waiting for the ceremony to begin.

As for the party, it was our band inviting everyone to join us as our first dance ended and we let Montel Jordan “This is how we do it”, set the tone for the night. The vision and moodiness of design came from the bride herself.

Her advice to all you brides to be: “Don’t let your vision be compromised. There will be a lot of obstacles along the way…. But in the end it is your day. Budgets and scheduling are very real, but where there is a will there is a way, stay true and you will be in heaven!”

Colby and Camron entered their reception through a saber arch entryway guarded by Camron’s fellow service members, but only after they kissed! Their family celebrated late into the night in a tent decorated beautifully with florals by Amaryllis.

Traditional Meets Modern at This Charming Texas Home

Vibrant pops of color, dramatic chandeliers, whimsical wallpaper and the perfect blend of traditional comfort and modern elements – welcome to this charming Texas home! Christian Ladd Interior Design was the mastermind behind every inch of this humble abode. She has a way of effortlessly elevating homes to make them feel contemporary and fresh while somehow remaining timeless in style – and this Texas home proves just that! THE ENTRANCE

I always thought that the grand, two-story entry to this home was one of its best design features. I installed a black and white marble floor to create a dramatic moment as you entered the home. It was important to incorporate a classic element that would appear as though it had always been there.

This concept enables the home to remain timeless for years to come. One of my favorite elements to add into a design project is grasscloth. The additional texture really elevates the style of a room and I knew instantly that the entry in this home would be the ideal place for the this element.

THE LIVING ROOM

We’re just over here wishing every weekend could be spent lounging in this neutral toned haven. Blue color pops in the pillows and chairs not only complete the overall design aesthetic, but also create a calm, soothing climate – the perfect setting for a peaceful Sunday afternoon!

Coffee table details such as a succulent centerpiece and brightly colored book covers put the finishing touches on the space and truly bring this living room to life.

THE BREAKFAST ROOM

I really wanted to draw attention to the color and pattern with Schumacher’s iconic lettuce green Chinois Palais drapes. To compliment the drapes I installed Dodie Thayer’s iconic Lettuce Ware pottery on the walls.

I love mixing modern and traditional elements in a room, and chose to use a clear Lucite table with more streamlined chairs. It’s the best way to keep your home feeling updated and still classic.

THE DINING ROOM

We highlighted modernist Taos artist Emil Bisttram’s vibrant painting which consisted of pale blush and light lavender hue. The painting was the jumping off point for the color scheme.

I pulled in a traditional round Baker pedestal dining table but elevated the traditional “look” by lacquering the dining chairs and upholstering them in a Jane Churchill lilac fabric.

Lastly, I added the dramatic glass chandelier. The chandelier doesn’t have a story (which is rare in most of my design) but I felt like it was the perfect fit to this room.

THE KITCHEN

I always follow Elsie de Wolfe’s advice when designing a room and ensure each space is filled with light, air, and comfort. I wanted to highlight the natural light in the kitchen and keep the space feeling traditional and classic.

The bone colored walls and open shelving really balanced the dramatic soapstone countertops. Additionally, the open shelving allowed a place to display my favorite antique silver pieces and my “everyday” items.

THE LAUNDRY

The laundry room is always about functionality but one should never compromise on aesthetics. This laundry room was multi-functional. It served as prep area for catering, and also was where the home owner potted herbs and did her flower arranging.

Therefore, we had to make sure all the right elements were incorporated when designing it. I always adore open containers and open shelving, it reminds you of what you have readily available without having to peek in every cabinet.

THE GUEST BEDROOM

Who wouldn’t want to stay in this charming, sun-soaked guest bedroom!? This cozy space features cheerful gingham accents and crisp white linens that brighten up every corner of the room.

Our favorite part has to be the ethereal wallpaper in the guest bath. Let’s face it, Christian Ladd never fails to give us major wallpaper envy with every carefully curated home.

THE BATHROOMS…a space to play

I try to incorporated a lot of personality in bathrooms. It’s a place people typically don’t dwell very long so you have the opportunity create a really bold and vibrant moment in them. Dramatic and whimsical wallpapers are always the cherry on top in the bathrooms I design.

LITTLE GIRL’S BEDROOM

I like to add sophisticated design elements into children’s rooms so that they can really grow into the space. One way to do this is by using drapes that will last from the nursery to adolescence.

It’s a place where you can have a lot of fun but include pieces that will transition them through the years.

THE OFFICE

Contemporary Coral Wedding Inspiration at Black Hall Fiskars Village

Did anyone else jump for joy when Pantone announced that the color of 2019 would be Living Coral? I’ve been fully enjoying seeing my favorite hue in inspiration boards across the internet land and cannot wait to see some of you infuse this pretty hue in your Big Day. Today, we’re serving up slightly more muted shades of coral (dreamyyyy) in the form of this inspiration shoot from Nord & Mae. Married with a contemporary style, there’s plenty of breathing room between the details, making for jaw-dropping images by Susanna Nordvall.

From Nord & Mae… With our editorial design we wanted to bring understated vibrance into the cold, low light of the harsh winter months in the northern parts of the world. Muted coral tones and warm glowing candle light in a contemporary setting surrounded by the stark, cool walls of this loft in Fiskars. Wedding couple, Julia & Kevin are celebrating their wedding in relaxed but fashionable style, wearing clean cuts, quality fabrics and minimalistic jewellery pieces by local labels.

Our floral designs are created mixing fresh cut florals with plenty of dried bits from warmer seasons, such as palm leaves, floral pods and pepper. But we also incorporated elements we can forage during the winter months such as branches and dried reeds. With an aim to make our designs more sustainable we save and repurpose most of these dried elements from event to event. A beautiful way to keep our footprint a little lower during the cold season.

The wedding menu is designed around seasonality, using dried and fermented berries, fruits and vegetables as well as plenty of root vegetables and other ingredients readily available during winter months. We especially love the vibrant dessert designed around the wedding’s style and color palette. It pairs local sea-buckthorn berries with a moist cinnamon cake and sweet meringue.

A Charming Garden Wedding with an Autumnal Palette at Allied Arts Guild

There’s just something about garden weddings that make our hearts sing! This magical day planned by Natalie Choi Events and photographed by Meiwen Wang is our definition of a perfect garden wedding. From Natalie Choi Events… Who says garden weddings are only supposed to happen in the spring? Sherry and Robert’s autumnal garden wedding certainly proves that wrong! Their wedding took place at Allied Arts Guild in Menlo Park, and their moody autumnal color palette accented the gardens perfectly.

Their floral design by Hawthorn Flower Studio featured fall foliage paired with creamy blooms, which were balanced with pale grey tablescapes and hints of gold. Sherry walked down the tree-lined aisle to the music of their string trio, escorted by both of her parents (also, isn’t her mom’s traditional hanbok just the prettiest?).

During cocktail hour, guests sipped on drinks mixed up by the Bar Car while enjoying appetizers by Capelo’s Barbecue. Sherry and Robert wanted a relaxed atmosphere for their wedding, and chose all of their food and beverage vendors from among food trucks they typically enjoy together. Their reception tables were set with a mixture of floral centerpieces and arrangements comprised of pillar candles and greenery to add a warm ambiance to their al fresco dinner.

After guests dined on the garden patio, they were treated to fresh doughnuts and coffee from Johnny Doughnuts and headed inside to dance the night away. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, Sherry & Robert decided on a two-tiered giant doughnut cake accented with florals tying in to their arrangements.

The dreamy qualities of their wedding were brought out in the film images captured on film by Meiwen, and in the video shot entirely on Super 8 film by Lenny!

A Minimalistic Modern Wedding at The Retreat at Cool Springs

Elegant, refined, modern… STUNNING – basically all the words that come to mind when admiring this summer wedding at The Retreat at Cool Springs planned by Linda Ha Events. Lush florals by Wild Green Yonder in a classic color scheme of fresh green and crisp white decorated the day. Vicki Grafton Photography captured every moment perfectly (per usual)… don’t miss out on a single detail at the full gallery!

From Vicki Grafton Photography… Briana & Jesse planned an outdoor wedding in the Virginia countryside incorporating a minimal and modern aesthetic. Lush florals by Lori at Wild Green Yonder soften the clean lines and helped bridge the gap between the outdoor country estate location and the couple’s modern vibe. The invitation was designed by the bride herself, and Linda Ha Events helped style and coordinate the day despite a torrential downpour during cocktail hour. Some of my favorite details included Briana’s dress from the BHLDN Ghost London line with it’s deep plunging neckline and back and how the material draped.

From the Bride… Together at last. We fell in love when we were young, but chose to follow careers in football and design which led us to different cities. After almost a decade of long distance, and countless prayers to follow where God was leading us, Jesse proposed forever to me in our hometown, where we first fell in love. After he proposed, we walked hand in hand along the water in Georgetown. I was surprised to find our families and closest friends waiting for us on a private boat. Jesse had planned a beautiful evening celebrating with those we cherish most. We were so grateful to have Jesse’s sister, the talented Hannah Smith Photography, capture the evening.

Just like the ring Jesse chose for me, I envisioned our wedding to be effortlessly elegant and timeless; filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Every vendor we chose, from Linda Ha Events’ beautifully refined aesthetic, to Vicki Grafton’s film photography, reflected this vision. When we discovered our wedding venue, The Retreat at Cool Spring, the search was over. The stunning understated beauty of the historic home became my inspiration for planning every detail of the day. My wedding gown reflected this same effortless beauty, it’s flowing curves and endless train recalling the Shenandoah river The Retreat overlooks. As a graphic designer, I always knew I’d want to design my wedding stationery.

As a graphic designer, I always knew I’d want to design my wedding stationery. I created a suite that was minimal and refined, using a white and soft gray color palette and warm serif typography, tied together with subtle blind embossing throughout. My favorite detail is the custom seal I drew featuring an S for “Smith”, my new family name. I embossed the envelopes with this seal by hand before my dear mother sent off each invite with love.

Every detail of the day used this same white and gray color palette, accented by the soft pinks and yellows introduced in our florals curated by the talented Lori Tran. On the day of our wedding, we awoke to a forecast that was less than ideal. It had been raining for days, and it wasn’t supposed to stop. An hour before the ceremony, the clouds started to part, and the sun peeked through. Before heading down the aisle, my mom helped place finishing touches on my look from both of my late grandmothers; my Grammy’s favorite ring on my right hand and my Nana’s pin on my bouquet. Another moment I cherish is the words I exchanged with Jesse’s mom as I got ready. I have her to thank for the man her son is today. Meanwhile, Jesse got ready with his groomsmen, enjoying a toast his best friend wrote called A Coach’s Tale, a nod to Jesse’s career in football. My father walked with me over a white rose petaled aisle while a pianist played Yiruma’s River Flows in You. We exchanged vows under the magnolia tree to the words of my dear family friend and pastor who has known me since the day I was born.

A highlight of the ceremony was Jesse’s dad’s scripture reading, a moment we’ll treasure forever. After being introduced as Mr. And Mrs., we departed the ceremony while the pianist played Here Comes the Sun. We didn’t realize just how perfect that song was until that moment. Guests were invited to celebrate cocktail hour al fresco, on terraces surrounding the home overlooking the river in the distance. A classic quartet played while guests enjoyed small bites, rosé, and Jesse’s favorite Dogfish Head IPA. To open the reception, we danced to Finally Mine by Juliet Roberts, a song whose lyrics celebrate being together after so long. After my dad, sister, and Jesse’s brother shared stories and words of welcome, we danced the night away to the sound of the Bachelor Boys Band. The next day, Jesse and I stayed at The Retreat for a day of rest and reflection, celebrating that we were together at last.

From the bride… We met through a mutual friend that we shared in different social circles; Erick went to junior high and high school with her and Jessica grew up with her through church youth groups. For as long as we could remember, she would tell us stories about each other for years, and we finally met in person for the first time in 2012. Since that first day, we’ve seen each other every day since and as they say, the rest is history! I was inspired by garden vibes. I love wild and lush greenery and florals, gold vintage accents, lots of candles, and pastel colors. Morgan at Wild Muse Floral created such magic and brought my vision to life, and the vintage pieces from Etablir and Otis & Pearl were just perfect! Our wedding was really the best day ever and we LOVED every minute of it. One of our guest favorites was the boba bar; it only lasted the first hour of the reception and the line was longer than the alcohol line! We also rented a piano for a surprise that I had for Erick (the first secret I’ve ever kept for so long!). I’ve always been bad at expressing my emotions so I decided to write and perform an original song. I chickened out and didn’t sing the lyrics but I still played the piano. We learned so much in planning our own wedding. I think the best advice I have is to trust your vendors! There’s just so much that goes into the wedding, both during the planning process and also the day of, and you really can’t do everything yourself. Share your vision with your vendors but let them exercise some creativity and trust them to execute your special day so that you can just sit back and relax!

Moody + Neutral Boho Wedding Inspiration at 501 Union in Brooklyn

We don’t often see the words moody, neutral and boho strung together, but that’s why we love today’s wedding inspiration so much—especially when we see rich tones and moody vibes taking center stage in 2019. Styled by Stylish Details Events and set at 501 Union, the marriage of deep hued walls and that iconic wallpaper make way for a gorgeously dark canvas where the Bride pops in her Schone gowns and florals transform the space into a tropical bohemian love shack. From Stylish Details Events… This styled wedding photo-shoot was inspired by the mid-century design of 501 Union. This Brooklyn venue is a hot spot for couples who are looking for a unique and stylish space to say “I-do”, while skipping the bustle of the city. Sophie Mae of Stylish Details Events wanted to highlight the industrial vibe of the venue, while incorporating the soft color tones of the moment. She chose some of the best vendors from the East and West Coast to execute the vision!

The editorial was captured by Brooklyn local Sarah Joan of Sarah Joan Studio. Her photography style was perfect for the overall look and feel of the shoot, which was classic with an modern edge. The highlight film was shot by Emma of Emma Lynn Cinema. We love how Emma brought the shoot to life in her film!

We partnered with the wonderful ladies of Designs by Ahn, the Manhattan based florist who specializes in intricate and whimsical designs. We loved how she mixed classic floral selections with unexpected blooms to create a unique tables cape that offered an outside of the box “wow factor”. We opted for ice grey velvet linen from Luxe Linen to add texture to the tabletop rentals provided by Signature Party Rentals.

The marble table was custom designed by the talented team at RentQuest NYC. They also provided the dreamy velvet chairs which complimented the tableware to perfection. We especially loved the hand crafted menus and place cards created by Emily of Eclaire Paperie.
