Kristina and Andrei’s Chic Soiree, IV

This last set of photos, sent to me by our Little Black Book member Suzi, of Q Weddings, is definitely my favorite. I absolutely adore the fruit and flower combinations used in this reception. So chic. And that cake, well…I’ll let the pictures do the talking!

Kristina and Andrei's Chic Real Wedding

Everything about this wedding is just so vibrant, so vivid. I’m raving, I know, but the colors are really so great! Plus, the cake by Fantasy Frostings looks incredible, with the orange accents and the simple but sophisticated design. What a stunning wedding!

Kristina and Andrei’s Chic Soiree, III

If you weren’t already completely in love with Kristina and Andrei’s wedding, I think you will be after this next set of photos. The bride and groom created a really lush reception, incorporating both incredible floral arrangements and fresh fruits, giving this wedding style a totally lavish feel without going over the top. Take a peek…

This color palette is incredibly charming. I love the deep fall reds and browns mixed with the peaches and greens. The flower arrangements by Silver Birches are stunning, I think there is a great balance of nature and luxury in this centerpieces. Still more to come from this elegant reception, stay tuned!

Kristina and Andrei’s Chic Soiree, II

Not that chic is the only word to describe this wedding sent to us by Suzi Q. Varin of Q Weddings, but it is the one that resonates with me the most. Take a peek at this second set of Kristina and Andrei’s gorgeous wedding. Actually, Kristina’s mother, Martha, lived in this neighborhood, and always wished to lived in this particular house. Years later her wish came true and she not only lived there, but her daughter was married there as well, how sweet is that?

Kristina and Andrei's Chic Real Wedding

Andrei, who is a native of Romania, incorporated his heritage into the cermony by having both the bride and groom’s parents wrap their hands together in lace and help them drink from the same cup. What a beautiful way to bring another set of traditions into their ceremony!

Kristina and Andrei’s Chic Soiree

Before we dive into our first Little Black Book Blog feature, I wanted to introduce one of the writers behind this new little adventure. SMP readers, meet Theresa. Theresa, meet our readers! Theresa has been hard at work behind the scenes gathering content from our vendors, pulling together the most beautiful images she could get her hands on, and crafting a ton of real weddings that we are going to be featuring in the coming months. So, without further ado…

* * *

When Suzi of Q Weddings sent me this real wedding, I knew it was a must feature. The flowers and unique arrangements alone set this wedding apart, but add in a one of a kind reception, gorgeous place settings, and one amazing dress…well…see for yourself!

Kristina and Andrei Real Wedding

I, for one, am head over heels in love with this color palette. The vibrant peaches in the bouquet along with those fabulous fuscia (Manolo Blahnik) flats paired with the bride’s tea soaked gown…pure gorgeousness…with more to come!

Real Wedding by James Abel, IV

A few more bits of eye candy from the oh-so-fabulous, James Abel

james abel

Thank you so much to James for sending us this magical wedding! It has certainly inspired me to think outside the box and to dig deeper when looking for ways to add a personal stamp to any wedding style!

That’s all for tonight, as I am cutting out a bit early to put some finishing touches on a project that I am BEYOND excited about. Tomorrow, we are launching our newest addition to Style Me Pretty that is going to literally have you jumping for joy…well, maybe not jumping as people would definitely look at you strangely, but incredibly happy nonetheless! Until then!

Here are a few more gorgeous pictures from today’s featured wedding!

all photos by Angelica Glass

I thought that we could do a “look for less” feature on this wedding, as I really think that the gorgeous style could be pulled off on a variety of budgets!

First off, the beakers and other containers…

-I found these adorable chemistry inspired vases at CB2 that range in price from $2.50 to $7.50. They would look adorable lined up on a table, varying in heights and sizes, with single stemmed flowers.

Glass beakers sell for $2.50 to $12 through teacher supply stores or through science websites, depending on their size. Buy a collection of different sizes to mix things up!

-Mix in glass vases so that you don’t overkill on the chemistry theme. Jamali Garden makes amazing, affordable glass vases in lots of sizes and shapes.

For the flowers…

-Look for flowers that are delicate and/or feminine. Pretty hydrangeas (which go a long way for little $$), lavendar, lilac, anemones, peonies, garden roses, things like that. The best way to get a look that is both pretty and cohesive is to head to your local wholesaler and pull individual stems of everything you love. Have someone there write down the names of everything, then ensure that they are in season for your wedding.

-Arranging flowers yourself is HUGE in terms of saving $$. If you are up for the feat but a little creatively challenged, remember this…simple is always better. Use the same flower in the same color in each container. If you stick to this mantra, you will create gorgeous arrangements that look as professional as they come!

-Order flowers in bulk to arrive 2-3 days before your wedding. Keep them somewhat cool if possible in buckets of water. If they need light, bring them out for 15-30 minutes until the day of your wedding.

The decor…

-Pretty feathers that can be used as accents (don’t go overboard with the feathers or it will look cheesy) can be found in lots of colors and styles at Fabulous Feathers. I love the ostrich feathers because they fall so beautifully. The Feather Place also has great ostrich plumes.

-Buy bolts of black and white printed fabric to use as table covers. You can use easy hem if you don’t feel like sewing a bunch of table linens. And, if you want the look, but don’t want to go overboard, craft table runners and place on every other table. Make sure to buy from a discount fabric store to save $$!

-Hang test tube inspired vases from branches to create intrigue and whimsy. These little gems can be found at eCrater for $1.50

-Accent with little round 6″ japanese lanterns for a touch of romance. Luna Bazaar has tons of colors to choose from!

Even though the weddings we feature on SMP are sometimes outside of some budgets, that doesn’t mean you can’t adapt the look to your own unique budget. With a little searching, some hands-on crafts and a touch of style editing, you can really go a long way in making a wedding on a budget seem both sophisticated and expensive.

Real Wedding by James Abel, II

I wanted to share more pictures from today’s James Abel designed wedding! How cute is this…the bride, loved feathers and all things glittery, the groom loves test tubes and beakers as he is getting his PhD in Microbiology. James took their two loves and came up with this…

james abel

James never fails to surprise me. Each and every event that he crafts is totally unique…capturing the couple’s personalities to perfection. All of the stunning photos were captured by Angelica Glass Photography…and we have so many more on the way!

So many more stunning pictures are on their way!

Real Wedding by James Abel

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

One of my very favorite wedding planners, James Abel (and the word wedding planner doesn’t remotely do him justice as he does the most incredible flowers, event design and so much more) sent me this insanely creative wedding that I have been dying to share with you!

Aside from the ridiculously gorgeous couple, this wedding is filled with the most unique details that capture the couple’s personality to perfection…think pretty pink flowers and chemistry test tubes. Crazy, I know. But, they completely pull it off and it just happens to be one of the prettiest weddings I’ve seen in a long time. Stay tuned!

SMP Loves…Bklyn Pillows!

Okay, so I know that these adorable ring pillows by Bklyn Bride have been making the blog rounds for weeks now, but I just couldn’t help myself.
