How ridiculously cute is this couple? Their adorable pup, Luci, joined in all of the festivities and they ended up with some pretty great memories with her. She sadly passed away recently, so they will treasure the memories even more.What a cutie pie.
I am so excited to show you the last photos from Margaux and Beck’s quasi-nuptials! This is a couple who is full of surprises, and they just kept coming throughout the reception…check it out!
So those people you see dancing on the bar, they were the caterers! As soon as the desserts were served they jumped up on the bar and broke it down just to make sure the party was in high gear! Margaux and Beck even handed out little Oscar statuettes to the “film-makers” that helped make their wedding special.

I love that this couple designed a wedding that was exclusively about their relationship, their personalities and their love of family and friends…

This was a complete family affair. My dress was handmade by my mom (she’s a doctor, not a seamstress! J ). She finished it the morning of the wedding, and my birdcage veil was made right on my head! All the flowers were done by my aunt (a speech therapist, not a florist!). My bridal party and I did all the decorating and setting up. Chris handmade all the invitations. On of our good friends from college (who actually played a part in Chris and I getting together in the first place) is an ordained minister, and performed a very personal ceremony.
My husband stayed up late the night before the wedding to put together a playlist of songs to play off my laptop instead of having a dj. Everything came together so perfectly!
Of course, one of the most important things to me was the photography! We hired my friend and colleague, Allan Zepeda. It was the one thing that we went all-out on! We honestly could not be happier with the pictures, they will be cherished forever.

That’s right, they were hula hooping through their reception, how much fun is that?! As a wedding photographer myself, I see a ton of beautiful weddings, but I really wanted something different and unique for my own celebration. My husband and I are both pretty creative people (he is a graphic designer), and have a very “diy” attitude towards most things, and it was no different for our wedding. I really wanted it to be very personal. We decided to have the wedding at my moms house, and kept it pretty casual. We did a buffet instead of having a sit-down dinner, and everyone mingled on the deck and in the house.

I am absolutely loving the way Jesse and Whitney used the natural lighting in these photos to totally play up the drama. Also, how gorgeous is the backdrop of Union Station in Los Angeles? I’ve heard the architecture there is awesome, and it certainly looks it from these photos. Oh, and wait until you see how hoola hoops made their way into the rest of this fabulous celebration!

Today’s posts are from our friends Whitney and Jesse at Our Labor of Love and they are definitely some of the most fun I’ve seen. Margaux and Beck, the featured couple, were uncomfortable with the terms usually associated with marriage. They felt that even the word “marriage” sounded institutional, so they made their own day…calling it “The Twenty-First Day of the Month”, which also happened to be the day they had their first date! This couple really enjoyed their special day, they were so in the moment, just enjoying everything about being with friends and family. The couple, the event, it all just looked like a really wonderful experience. Check it out!
I love the Old Hollywood, very glam feel. The rest of the event is just so fun, you have to come back and see everything that Beck and Margaux did to celebrate their day!
