An organic mix of flowers and foliage to ground the ceremony site under the vast oak trees. Lots of foliage and texture, mixed with flowers in our shades of nude, cream, white, and light caramel. Grasses and seedheads as part of our fall/textural vibe, incorporating some pottery and woven baskets among the elements.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Connor proposed to me aboard a seaplane, disguising the moment as a special way to celebrate our anniversary—though I admittedly had my suspicions (and kept them to myself!). The company had mentioned that a photographer would be joining us for promotional shots, which made the setup feel entirely believable. As we flew up the coast toward Point Reyes, the pilot pointed out landmarks along the way, narrating the scenery below. Then, just as we were passing over the very beach where Connor and I had our first date, everything shifted. The pilot fell silent, and Connor got down on one knee right there in the plane. I was completely surprised—proposing mid-flight was the last thing I expected—but it was absolutely unforgettable. When we landed, the celebration continued with another surprise: both of our families were there waiting for us, ready to share in the joy of the moment.

A Whimsical Wine Country Wedding Beneath an Oak Tree with European Garden Charm

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The color palette was intentionally soft, layered, and sun-washed, drawing from a blend of European countryside tones and the natural warmth of California wine country. A foundation of cream and white was complemented by pale yellow as a focal hue, with additional accents of blush, muted peach, and soft lavender woven throughout. Rather than feeling overly structured, the palette was expressed through florals in a painterly, organic way, allowing color to feel natural, dimensional, and effortlessly cohesive.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The overall design was inspired by a whimsical European aesthetic reimagined through a California lens, with a focus on creating something that felt both elevated and approachable. The ceremony took place beneath the estate’s iconic oak tree, which became a central design element, softly adorned with airy, draped fabric that moved effortlessly with the natural surroundings. A white aisle runner was introduced to ground the space and create a clean, refined contrast against the organic landscape. The vision centered around garden-inspired florals with movement and variation, designed to feel as though they were naturally growing up and around the ceremony tree. Lush arrangements in layered tones framed the aisle and base of the tree, creating a sense of depth and romance while still feeling organic and unstructured. This same intentionality carried into the reception, where long tables were layered with soft, textural linens, delicate place settings, and an abundance of candlelight. Hand-torn menus were paired with loosely draped, gauze-like napkins and warm-toned flatware, creating a setting that felt both refined and relaxed. A mix of glassware and softly glowing votives added dimension and warmth, allowing the tabletop to feel collected, inviting, and quietly luxurious. These softer elements were thoughtfully paired with subtle industrial touches from the venue, including the surrounding barrel room, creating a refined juxtaposition throughout the evening. Every detail was intentionally designed to feel effortless rather than overly styled, resulting in a romantic, light-filled atmosphere that felt timeless, personal, and distinctly non-traditional.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Kevin was convinced they wouldn’t have any free weekends over the summer just for the two of them, so when Jenna’s best friend from law school suggested a couples trip to Napa, she assumed he would say no. To her surprise, he was all in. In the weeks leading up to the trip, Jenna and her friend exchanged texts about outfits and plans, and she didn’t suspect a thing. The night before they left, the couple had dinner with her parents, and somehow, only her dad knew what was coming. The morning of the trip felt a bit chaotic. Jenna received a last-minute work assignment and spent most of the drive trying to finish it, completely distracted. When they arrived at the winery, they were told their reservation had already started, so they went ahead without their friends. As soon as they arrived, she finally sent off her assignment and was able to enjoy the moment. The property was stunning, and they were led to a quiet gazebo overlooking the lake. With a few moments alone, Kevin proposed. It felt completely unexpected yet perfectly them, simple, intimate, and set against a beautiful backdrop. They spent the rest of the day wine tasting and stayed overnight in Yountville, soaking it all in, before later celebrating with their closest friends and family.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]

Jenna wore a Sarah Seven gown that felt effortlessly modern while still timeless. The clean, structured silhouette was softened by delicate draping through the bodice and skirt, adding movement and a sense of ease. This detail is subtly carried throughout the design, mirrored in the draped cake and ceiling installations, creating a cohesive and intentional visual story. The look was refined and understated, perfectly aligned with the overall aesthetic of the day.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

The bridesmaids wore soft butter yellow dresses in a mix of silhouettes, creating a cohesive yet intentionally varied look. The palette tied beautifully into the overall color story, adding warmth and a subtle pop of color without feeling overpowering. The mix of styles brought movement and personality to the group, while still maintaining an elevated and polished feel.

[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos, creating a timeless and tailored look that balanced the softness of the overall design. The clean, structured silhouettes added a sense of formality and contrast, allowing the lighter color palette and romantic details throughout the day to stand out. It felt polished, effortless, and perfectly in line with the elevated yet approachable aesthetic.[/field]

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]

The food and drink experience was thoughtfully curated to feel both elevated and personal, blending refined presentation with meaningful touches. Set among the estate vineyards, guests enjoyed wines produced on-site, thoughtfully crafted and aged in the very barrel room where the reception was held, creating a beautifully immersive and place-driven experience. Dinner featured a seasonal, Italian-inspired menu, highlighted by a bolognese dish that was especially sentimental, as it was based on Jenna’s mom’s recipe, adding a deeply personal layer to the dining experience. The bar program complemented the overall aesthetic with a selection of signature cocktails and estate-grown wines, presented on soft, textural signage that aligned with the design of the day. Each element, from the menu to the cocktails, was intentionally styled to feel cohesive, effortless, and reflective of the couple’s love for good food, wine, and gathering with the people closest to them.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The floral and décor design was intentionally organic and garden-inspired, with a focus on movement, variation, and a soft, layered color story. A curated mix of refined, seasonal blooms, including garden roses, ranunculus, and other premium varieties, was thoughtfully selected to create depth and a painterly effect rather than something overly structured or repetitive. Each arrangement varied slightly, allowing the overall design to feel collected and natural, while still elevated and cohesive. These softer elements were balanced with textural layers throughout the space, including airy draping installations and warm, ambient lighting from brought-in wagon wheel chandeliers. At the table level, hand-torn paper goods and softly draped linens added a layer of detail, creating a tactile, romantic feel. From the ceremony through the reception, every element was designed to feel intentional yet effortless, resulting in an immersive environment that felt refined, personal, and distinctly non-traditional.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The wedding cake was designed as an extension of the overall aesthetic, featuring soft, sculptural draping that mirrored both Jenna’s gown and the overhead installations. The tiers were finished with delicate, hand-crafted sugar flowers, thoughtfully chosen to reflect the same floral varieties used throughout the day, creating a seamless connection between the cake and the surrounding design. Set against a base of vibrant, garden-inspired florals, the cake became both a focal point and a continuation of the larger design story. The combination of clean structure, soft draping, and detailed floral work resulted in a look that felt refined, artistic, and deeply cohesive with the overall vision.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Music played a meaningful role throughout the day, with a live string quartet setting the tone for the ceremony. The processional featured “All My Love” by Led Zeppelin, while Jenna walked down the aisle with her father to “Invisible String” by Taylor Swift, a song that held special significance for them both. The ceremony concluded with “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” by Stevie Wonder, bringing a joyful and celebratory energy to the moment.

The reception continued with a live band, creating an energetic and immersive atmosphere for the evening. One of the most memorable moments came when Jenna’s dad joined the band on stage to play guitar, adding a personal and unexpected touch that made the celebration feel even more special and reflective of the couple’s close connection with their family.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

A defining element of the day was the iconic oak tree at Cass Winery, where Jenna and Kevin chose to exchange vows. The tree became more than just a ceremony backdrop; it served as a meaningful symbol woven throughout the entire wedding design. From the very beginning, its silhouette was incorporated into the invitation suite, setting the tone for what guests would experience upon arrival. This thoughtful detail carried through to the day-of paper goods, including menus, matchboxes, and signage, creating a sense of continuity and intention across every touchpoint. By grounding the design in a place that held such visual and emotional significance, the couple created a celebration that felt deeply personal and effortlessly cohesive.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

As the evening transitioned, the celebration took on a more playful, high-energy feel with a late-night after-party that felt distinctly personal to Jenna and Kevin. Jenna changed into a second look, a soft butter-yellow gown with a delicate, light-catching shimmer that moved effortlessly with her on the dance floor. The silhouette felt both modern and effortless, bringing a fresh, fashion-forward energy to the evening. Guests gathered for espresso martinis, late-night bites, and a DJ-led dance floor that carried the celebration well into the night. Cowboy hats made an appearance, adding a playful, unexpected touch and a nod to the couple’s personality. The shift from a refined dinner to a spirited after-party allowed the celebration to feel layered, intentional, and reflective of both the couple’s style and the joy of the day.

A Kiawah Island Golf Resort Wedding with Preppy Charm and Coastal Carolina Views

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Preppy pink, sage green, chartreuse, hunter green, and white were selected as the primary colors of Molly & Jimmy’s Ocean Course wedding palette.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Molly and Jimmy’s Ocean Course wedding was a joyful, sun-drenched celebration rooted in the timeless elegance of Old Palm Beach, infused with a distinctly Southern, preppy sensibility. Inspired by the vibrant aesthetic of 1950s and ’60s classic Palm Beach and the bride’s lifelong love of Lilly Pulitzer, the couple brought every detail to life in a palette of preppy pinks, sage greens, and chartreuse. In a serendipitous touch, their wedding day accidentally landed on National Wear Your Lilly Day. The day began with a Catholic ceremony at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in downtown Charleston, a deeply meaningful choice for Molly, who grew up in the faith, and for Jimmy, who had recently converted to Catholicism ahead of their nuptials. From the cathedral, guests were transported to Kiawah Island via classic trolleys from Lowcountry Trolley, arriving at sweeping oceanfront views from the green and a striking, long hunter green paneled bar set outside, adorned with lush, overflowing blooms by Tupelo Honey Flower Shop. Signature cocktails, custom drink koozies stamped “The Herd-Bonds,” and playful golf-inspired custom signage, including a tongue-in-cheek “Amen Corner” sig,n welcomed guests to cocktail hour with personality and warmth. Inside the sailcloth-tented reception overlooking the Atlantic, BBJ La Tavola’s patterned linens layered in soft checks and plaids provided a chic backdrop for Tupelo Honey’s garden-inspired florals in pink, chartreuse, and white. A dramatic suspended floral installation floated above the dance floor, filled with pink hydrangeas, chartreuse amaranthus, tulips, and delicate pink and green sea mosses. White billowing draping, woven chargers, chinoiserie-patterned plates, and coordinating linen napkins completed each place setting. As the evening unfolded, the couple and their guests celebrated long into the night under a breathtaking pink-hued coastal sunset, in true Palm Beach style.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Molly and Jimmy’s love story began the way so many great pandemic-era romances did: on Hinge. What started as a swipe turned into something neither of them could have anticipated. When it came time to propose, Jimmy chose a backdrop that was entirely, perfectly them: the Blue Ridge Mountains, on the couple’s annual trip with their beloved pups. It was intimate, unhurried, and a reflection of exactly who they are together.

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

The bridesmaids wore soft pink and green floral gowns from Lula Kate, perfectly reflecting the couple’s preppy, Palm Beach-inspired color palette. Each bridesmaid carried a tulip bouquet, tying their look seamlessly into the garden-inspired floral design throughout the day.

Guests were welcomed to cocktail hour on the green with passed hors d’oeuvres that felt like a love letter to the Carolina coast: She Crab Soup shooters, bacon-wrapped sea scallops, mini lobster rolls, fried oysters, and chicken & waffle bites. Two signature cocktails anchored the bar throughout the evening: the Moll-Arita, a nod to the bride’s beloved margarita recipe, and the Jimmy Fusion, a vodka, grape juice, and ginger creation inspired by the groom. Dinner was served stations-style under the sailcloth tent, continuing the coastal and Southern spirit of the day.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Working with Tupelo Honey Flower Shop, the couple created a floral and decor vision that felt like a garden party by the sea. The cocktail hour featured a striking hunter green outdoor bar overflowing with lush blooms, setting a vibrant, preppy tone from the moment guests arrived. Inside the sailcloth tent, long dining tables were dressed in BBJ La Tavola’s layered patterned linens in soft checks and plaids, topped with woven chargers, chinoiserie-patterned plates, and coordinating linen napkins. Tupelo Honey’s centerpiece arrangements wove together pink hydrangeas, chartreuse amaranthus, tulips, and greenery into lush, garden-inspired compotes down the tables. The showstopper of the evening was the dramatic suspended floral installation above the dance floor, filled with pink hydrangeas, chartreuse amaranthus, tulips, and delicate pink and green sea mosses, a breathtaking focal point that delighted guests all night long.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

Molly and Jimmy’s wedding cake was created by local Charleston baker Sweet Rhi. The couple chose a gluten-free cake finished in a vintage buttercream piping design, but the most meaningful detail sat right on top: a cake topper from Molly’s grandparents’ wedding, passed down through aunts, uncles, cousins, and her parents over the years. For Molly, whose grandfather passed just weeks before the wedding after 67 years of marriage, it was a quiet and profound way to carry him into the day.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”][/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]The venue itself held profound personal meaning for Molly and Jimmy. As two physicians navigating demanding medical careers, golfing together had always been their shared escape, the setting for countless rounds and quiet moments side by side. Choosing The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island as the backdrop for their wedding day was a natural and deeply personal decision, celebrating the place and the pastime that had long been their happy place as a couple.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

In a coincidence that felt almost too perfect, Molly and Jimmy’s wedding day fell on National Wear Your Lilly Day, which was entirely unplanned. For Molly, whose lifelong love of Lilly Pulitzer was the original spark behind the couple’s Old Palm Beach design vision, it was the kind of serendipitous detail that made the day feel like it was simply meant to be.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Family legacy ran quietly and beautifully through every corner of Molly and Jimmy’s wedding day. June 1st marked Molly’s parents’ 30th anniversary, and June 7th marked Jimmy’s parents’ 40th, making their wedding weekend a celebration woven into a tapestry of enduring love on both sides. Most tenderly, the couple chose to top their wedding cake with the cake topper from Molly’s grandparents’ wedding, a tradition that has now been passed through their cousins, aunts, uncles, and her parents over the decades. A Hummingbird Nest Ranch Wedding That Brought European Fairytale Elegance to Southern California

[section title=”The Planning”]

Mauve, burgundy, soft gold, and layered greens.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Alex and Dave envisioned their wedding as a romantic European fairytale with an atmosphere that felt both timeless and deeply personal. Inspired by their engagement in northern Spain and Alex’s connection to her late father, who was raised there, they were drawn to the Villa at Hummingbird Nest Ranch for its old-world character and sun-drenched, destination-like beauty. Their design centered on lush mauve and burgundy florals, abundant greenery, warm gold accents, and thoughtful heirloom details that made the celebration feel elegant, meaningful, and full of life.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Dave proposed during a wine tour through northern Spain in front of one of the most beautiful vineyards Alex had ever seen. The moment carried extraordinary meaning because Alex’s late father was raised in Spain, and visiting the country had long felt deeply personal to her. That chapter of their story became a guiding thread throughout the wedding, influencing both the venue they chose and the romantic European spirit woven into the entire day.[/field]

Alex’s bridal style felt classic and fashion-forward with a romantic sensibility that suited the European spirit of the day so beautifully. She found her Katherine Tash Bridal gown at Lovely Bride in New York City, and it brought exactly the kind of effortless softness and refinement that felt at home against the old-world architecture of Hummingbird Nest Ranch. She completed the look with thoughtfully chosen accessories including earrings by Maria Elena Headpieces & Accessories, Stuart Weitzman shoes, a vintage bag from Paper Doll Vintage, and a David Yurman bracelet, creating a finish that felt elegant, feminine, and deeply personal.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

The bridesmaid fashion complemented the wedding’s palette of mauve, burgundy, and layered greens with a look that felt polished, romantic, and cohesive. Their attire added richness to the overall design while allowing the floral palette and European-inspired setting to remain the focus. Together, the bridal party brought softness, depth, and a beautiful sense of harmony to the day.

[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]

Dave’s look brought a fashion-forward edge to the day while still feeling timeless and refined. His custom Indochino tuxedo featured a rich burgundy jacket with a deep purple undertone, custom lining, and tailored finishes that made the look feel distinctly personal, while classic black trousers and a black bow tie kept it polished and timeless. Paired with Ferragamo shoes and the meaningful embroidery hidden inside his jacket, his attire felt elevated, intentional, and perfectly suited to the romantic old-world atmosphere of the celebration.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Food and drink were such an intentional part of Alex and Dave’s celebration because they wanted the entire evening to feel festive, welcoming, and full of personality. Guests enjoyed signature cocktails displayed with custom signage and personalized drink stirrers featuring the couple’s dogs, which added a playful and meaningful touch to cocktail hour. Later in the evening, a cigar bar by Papisiano added to the celebratory atmosphere and helped create the kind of lively, unforgettable party the couple had envisioned from the very beginning.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The floral and design story was centered around old-world romance with a palette of mauve, burgundy, layered greens, and touches of gold. Chic Flowers created arrangements that felt lush, painterly, and deeply romantic, bringing softness and richness to the European-inspired architecture of Hummingbird Nest Ranch. Throughout the day, meaningful personal details were woven into the design, including memorial elements honoring Alex’s father and Dave’s parents, which gave the overall aesthetic not only beauty but emotional depth.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The wedding cake was one of the details Alex and Dave cared deeply about because they wanted it to feel romantic, artful, and fully aligned with their European-inspired vision. They were especially drawn to the look of rich dark cherries cascading across the cake, and although cherries were unfortunately out of season, their cake artist beautifully recreated them by hand in fondant, so the final design still reflected their original inspiration. The result felt elegant and expressive, with a sculptural quality that made the cake not only a dessert moment, but one of the most striking design details of the reception.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

Music played such an important role in shaping the atmosphere of Alex and Dave’s wedding day, moving seamlessly from heartfelt and reverent to joyful and celebratory. During the ceremony, the couple also incorporated meaningful spiritual elements, including communion and a Bible reading by Alex’s grandmother, which gave the service a deeply personal and emotional tone. As the evening unfolded, live music and reception entertainment helped transform the villa into the kind of vibrant, unforgettable celebration the couple had envisioned from the very beginning.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]One of the most meaningful details of the day was the way Alex and Dave honored family members who could not be present. Alex carried a memorial charm for her father on her bouquet, and memorial cloths were placed over chairs at the ceremony in remembrance of the groom’s parents and the bride’s father. These touches brought a quiet depth to the celebration and served as beautiful reminders that those they love were still woven into the day in a significant way.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

Another detail that felt especially personal was the custom cocktail experience created for guests during cocktail hour. Signature drink signage and personalized drink stirrers featuring the couple’s dogs added a playful and charming layer to the celebration, allowing their love for their pets to become part of the design unexpectedly. It was one of those details that felt both stylish and unmistakably them.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]One of the most remarkable parts of Alex and Dave’s wedding was that the celebration truly felt like a destination experience, with the couple and the majority of their guests traveling from New York for the occasion. Their choice to gather at Hummingbird Nest Ranch made the weekend feel like an intentional escape, bringing everyone together in a setting that echoed the European romance they had envisioned from the beginning. That sense of travel, anticipation, and shared experience gave the celebration an added layer of meaning and made the entire weekend feel even more unforgettable.[/field]

The welcome dinner featured a four-course menu of salmon tartare, duck-filled ravioli, miso cod, and a rich chocolate soufflé cake, all of which were raved about by the guests. For the wedding reception, dinner began with scallops seared to perfection, followed by tagliolini topped with truffles shaved tableside, which made for a memorable presentation. For the main course, guests had the choice of Mediterranean sea bass or Florentine steak. The evening concluded with a dessert bar of assorted traditional Italian pastries and fresh fruit.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]An all-white floral palette created a classic and romantic atmosphere with a subtle garden-inspired whimsy. The ceremony took place beneath the iconic arches and ivy-wrapped columns of Villa del Balbianello, where the lush white florals filled the space, complemented by tan cane chairs to create a luxurious outdoor garden feel. For the reception, tapered candles, beige lace-trimmed charger plates, deckled cotton paper menus, and gold-plated tableware added layers of traditional romance and understated opulence.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The couple chose a traditional Italian millefoglie wedding cake, featuring layers of crisp puff pastry and chantilly cream, topped with strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries. Cold sparklers went off behind them as the couple cut the cake, illuminating the night and creating a magical moment.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]A close friend officiated the ceremony, which made for a truly special and deeply personal proceeding. The groom, bridal party, and bride entered to “Love Is a Wild Thing” by Kacey Musgraves, one of the bride’s favorite songs, while the newlyweds exited the ceremony to “Fearless” by Taylor Swift. The bride also curated the entire dinner playlist, infusing the evening with music that felt intimate and meaningful.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

The bride worked with one of her bridesmaids to custom-design all of the wedding stationery. The three-piece invitation suite, which featured a hand-drawn illustration of the venue on deckled white cotton paper, was tied together with sage green chiffon ribbon and mailed in emerald green envelopes with the guests’ details printed in white ink—setting a romantic tone long before the wedding day. For the welcome event, they created beige oval-cut name tags with tassels, which doubled as keepsakes. For the wedding reception, individual menus were printed on thick ivory torn-edge cotton paper and personalized with the guests’ name in elegant script and their exact meal selections.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Immediately following their first look at the dock of Villa del Balbianello, the couple embarked on a private ride across Lake Como on a classic wooden Venetian boat. It was the perfect time to soak in the unrivaled beauty of the lake and enjoy the quiet moment they had alone with each other before the guests arrived for the ceremony. [/field]

A Hotel Bel-Air Wedding Inspired by Swan Lake, Family Legacy, and Golden-Era Glamour

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Champagne, white, gold, and blush[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

We were drawn to the romance of Old Hollywood and the timeless elegance of Hotel Bel-Air. From the beginning, we envisioned the weekend as a cohesive narrative unfolding over multiple chapters, each distinct, yet connected. The welcome party embraced a moody, cinematic aesthetic inspired by classic film, while the wedding day shifted into something softer and more ethereal. White, cream, champagne, and gold defined the palette, with layered draping and abundant florals transforming the ballroom into an intimate, luminous space. Throughout the weekend, subtle design motifs tied everything together: swans as a nod to Swan Lake, a locket emblem symbolizing both family history and our new shared name, and illustrated details incorporating our dogs. The intention was to create something deeply personal while maintaining a sense of restraint and timelessness.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Exactly two years after the night we met, Teddy planned a proposal that reflected our shared love of meaningful places. Knowing we had always talked about living in Los Angeles one day, he rented a house in Bel-Air under the pretense of touring it together. When we arrived, I was greeted by an arrangement of white roses in the shape of a heart. In that quiet, intimate setting, he asked me to marry him.

We celebrated the evening at The Ivy and ended the night with our favorite Erewhon soft serve. It was romantic, personal, and reflective of who we are as a couple.[/field]

For the morning of the wedding, I chose a white silk pajama set with a coordinating feather-trimmed robe from the Robe UA, paired with custom “Mrs. Vlock” slippers. The look felt polished yet relaxed, setting the tone for a calm and intimate start to the day. My bridesmaids wore coordinating blush silk sets with soft pink slippers, creating a cohesive palette for the getting-ready moments. Even our dog, Gigi, joined in with matching pink pajamas, adding a playful and personal touch to the morning before the ceremony began. For the ceremony, I chose a made-to-measure Monique Lhuillier gown with a custom extended train and matching lace veil. I wanted something timeless, romantic, and elegant, reflective of Swan Lake and the magic of Hotel Bel-Air. My look was paired with Neous lace heels and layered jewelry, including heirloom diamond bracelets and meaningful pieces gifted by family. For the reception, I changed into the Elea gown by New Arrivals by Ilkyaz Ozel, a sleek ivory column dress paired with a white fur wrap for a more editorial, celebratory feel. I carried a playful “Wifey for Lifey” clutch and kept my jewelry stack consistent to maintain continuity throughout the weekend.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”][/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]

Teddy wore a Tom Ford white tuxedo for the welcome party, inspired by Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca, and a classic black Kiton tuxedo for the ceremony. He honored his family by wearing vintage gold studs borrowed from his 98-year-old grandfather, who sat in the front row.

The romantic swan theme followed through the cocktail hour, with drinks like “In the Name of Love.” Dinner started with Yukon gold potato gnocchi with brown butter emulsion and a roasted pear salad with pomegranate and goat cheese. For the main, there was an option of shiro miso black cod or mesquite grilled New York sirloin.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The M&T locket and Casa Vlock logos were thoughtfully woven throughout the weekend, creating a sense of continuity and identity across each event. Custom-illustrated escort cards featured our dogs, Gigi and Mickey, while personalized kippahs incorporated our wedding day pattern in a way that felt both traditional and modern. The ballroom transformation in white and gold, layered with soft draping and candlelight, felt intimate and luminous, like a warm winter dream.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The cake was a three-tiered heart-shaped red velvet cake. It was covered with classic swag icing, mini pink ribbon bows, and topped with “Just Married” written in icing.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]We incorporated Jewish traditions throughout the ceremony, including the signing of the ketubah, standing beneath the chuppah, and the breaking of the glass. Family participation was especially meaningful, and many elements of the ceremony honored both heritage and continuity.

The design of the ceremony blended tradition with a clean, romantic aesthetic that felt true to us.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

We also introduced interactive moments that allowed guests to engage with the celebration in playful and meaningful ways. The Casa Vlock Gift Shop invites guests to curate their own keepsake bags, selecting thoughtfully designed pieces and having cosmetic cases embroidered live. Vintage-inspired photo booths reflected each event’s distinct mood, with an Old Hollywood setting for the welcome party and a softer Swan Lake–inspired version for the wedding day. A live fashion illustrator captured guests throughout the evening, creating personalized artwork that doubled as a lasting memento.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

Our dogs, Gigi and Mickey, were central to the weekend. From custom fashion moments to illustrated details throughout the design suite, they represented the foundation of our life together. Ultimately, the wedding was about legacy, honoring family, celebrating new beginnings, and building our own household with intention.

A Mediterranean Chic Wedding on the Sun-Drenched Shores of Crete

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The Aesthetic. The couple’s design inspiration was drawn directly from the Cretan landscape. A palette of serene dusty blues, crisp whites, and touches of regal gold mirrored the transition from the sea to the shore. The bridesmaids stunned in varying shades of sky and ocean blue, while the groomsmen kept things classic and cool in light grey suits with coordinated ties.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The Vision. When Katie and Justin decided to trade the familiar shores of the US for the rugged, sun-drenched coastline of Crete, they knew they wanted more than just a destination wedding—they wanted an immersive experience for their 100 closest guests. Nestled in the exclusive enclave of Elounda, their celebration was a masterclass in “Mediterranean Chic,” blending high-end luxury with the effortless beauty of the Aegean Sea. The Destination For Katie and Justin, Elounda wasn’t just a backdrop; it was the heart of their story. From the aerial views of the peninsula to the intimate moments shared on the pier, every photo by the talented team of Skigo Wedding Stories captures the essence of a love that is as deep and timeless as the Mediterranean itself.

Katie and Justin’s menu was a sophisticated tribute to the island’s world-renowned gastronomy. They moved beyond the typical wedding fare to offer their 100 guests a true “farm-to-table” experience, showcasing the best of Crete’s fertile land and sea, and Siganos Catering offered a Cretan experience to the guests. The Artisanal Cheese & Charcuterie Display During the cocktail hour, guests gathered around a lavish display of local “Gravier,”—a piquant, cave-aged sheep’s milk cheese—and “Apaki,” the island’s famous lean pork loin, smoked with aromatic herbs like sage and bay leaves. These were paired with jars of golden thyme honey and fresh figs, creating a perfect balance of salty and sweet. The Main Event: Slow-Roasted Cretan Lamb For the main course, the couple chose the undisputed star of the Cretan table: Lamb. In a nod to local mountain traditions, the lamb was slow-roasted until it reached a butter-like tenderness, seasoned simply with sea salt and wild oregano. It was served alongside “Lemonato” potatoes, which had soaked up all the savory juices, offering a meal that felt both incredibly luxurious and deeply authentic.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The floral design, meticulously crafted by Manfler, was the heart of the wedding’s visual narrative. Aiming for a look that felt both organic and incredibly polished, the team utilized a sophisticated palette of creamy whites, dusty blues, and muted sage greens. The Ceremony Grandeur: The ceremony backdrop was a true floral masterpiece. Manfler created lush, floor-to-ground installations that seemed to “grow” naturally from the stone terrace. Clusters of delphiniums provided the perfect verticality in shades of sky blue, while oversized white hydrangeas and open-bloom roses added a sense of timeless romance. This “frame” allowed the couple to exchange vows against the breathtaking Mirabello Bay without obstructing the iconic Cretan horizon. The Reception Glamour: Moving to the reception, the decor transitioned into an atmosphere of “Modern Mediterranean Luxury.” The long, mirrored tables reflected the soft Cretan sunset, while low, flowing floral runners created an intimate dining experience. Crystal chandeliers were suspended above the tables, adorned with delicate greenery to soften the architectural lines and add a touch of whimsy.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The wedding cake was a study in understated elegance, designed to stand as a piece of art against the backdrop of the illuminated Elounda coastline. The Design: Keeping with the “Elounda Chic” theme, the couple opted for a two-tiered minimalist design. The smooth, fondant finish in crisp white provided a clean canvas for a few select, intentional details. In a seamless collaboration with Manfler, the cake was adorned with delicate, live floral sprigs that echoed the ceremony arrangements.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”][/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

The Reception. The celebration moved to a terrace transformed into an outdoor ballroom. Mirrored tables reflected the vibrant pink bougainvillea and the hanging crystal chandeliers that seemed to float above the guests. The Details: Gold-rimmed glassware, bespoke menus with blue silk tassels, and elegant Louis XVI chairs created a sophisticated atmosphere. The Vibe: As the sun set over the mountains, the soft glow of candlelight and the shimmer of the chandeliers turned the evening into a fairy tale.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

A moment of pure connection: Katie and Justin shared a ‘first touch’ to exchange vows, preserving the magic of the aisle while holding onto each other’s strength. Standing back-to-back, separated by a wall inside the Cretan villa, they reached out to find each other’s hands. Without seeing one another, they exchanged their handwritten vows in a whisper. This choice allowed them to ground themselves and share a private sanctuary of calm before walking down the aisle. The sound of the Aegean waves in the background and the gentle touch of their hands made for a powerful, tear-filled moment that prioritized their connection above all else. It was a beautiful testament to their journey—two people, thousands of miles from home, finding their “center” in each other.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

”Katie and Justin”: having Phaedra Liakou as our wedding planner, at the helm, was the single most important decision we made. Bridging Two Worlds: Phaedra acted as the essential bridge between our high-end aesthetic and the authentic charm of Crete. She curated a vendor team that understood the nuances of “Mediterranean Luxury,” ensuring that every detail—from the complex logistics of 100 traveling guests to the sourcing of rare local elements—was handled with grace and precision. A Master of Atmosphere: Beyond the logistics, Phaedra’s signature is her ability to create atmosphere. She didn’t just plan a timeline; she designed an experience. It was her keen eye for design that brought together the mirrored tables, the crystal chandeliers, and the lush Manfler florals into one cohesive, editorial-worthy narrative. The “Stress-Free” Destination Experience: For a couple traveling from the US, the peace of mind Phaedra provided was invaluable. Her intimate knowledge of Elounda’s most exclusive corners allowed us to truly be “present” in our moment, knowing that every transition—from the sun-drenched ceremony to the starlit reception—was being flawlessly executed behind the scenes. In the world of destination weddings, Phaedra Liakou is more than a planner; she is a storyteller!

A Thoughtfully Designed Martha’s Vineyard Wedding That Felt Like Home, Elevated

[section title=”The Planning”]

White, green, beige, and blush

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

I knew I wanted my wedding to feel like home, so I took a lot of inspiration from my home in terms of the palette being a lot of green and beige. I love getting tulips for our home in the spring, and the pink tulips with the shades of green and beige in my home were where I got the color palette from.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

James and I went to college together at Wake Forest in North Carolina and knew each other vaguely there. We both were in long-term relationships in college, and then post-grad, we both ended up single in NYC and met at a mutual Wake Forest party, connected there, and had a lot of fun together, and ended up going on a few dates after that, and a little more than 2 and a half years later, James proposed in Williamsburg’s Domino Park on June 8th 2024. He told me we were meeting his boss and his boss’s daughter, who recently moved to Williamsburg and was interested in getting into Fashion. I put on pants and a shirt for the occasion,n and James said it was too casual and his boss overdressed and I should probably wear something nicer, so I ended up wearing one of the only dresses I own, which happened to be a white faithful the brand dress. As we were walking to the lunch spot, James proposed, and I was so surprised!

I wore an Anne Barge dress. I went wedding dress shopping with my mom, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law, and was super open to anything. I didn’t really have a vision for the dress outside of wanting it to be super simple and wanting to feel super confident and comfortable in it. I tell people the dress chose me, I did not choose it because when I saw it hanging, I did not like it at all, but when I put it on, I felt like it just fit me so well and made me feel so confident, and it was simple like I wanted, so I went with it! I wore Alexandre Birman shoes because I wanted something timeless and simple.

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”][/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]James, of course, wore a Purple Label Ralph Lauren Shawl Collar Tux. We went to the Madison Avenue Ralph Lauren location for James to try on some options, and he ended up wanting to go classic, so he just went with a black shawl collar tuxedo! James wore tux shoes he already owned because we had heard horror stories about grooms getting new shoes for the wedding and their feet hurting them all night! He wanted to be comfortable, and he liked the shoes he had. [/field]

Dinner started with a salad with apples, pumpkin seeds, cranberries, and cheddar. The main course was a roasted chicken breast with herbed shallot pan sauce and summer corn risotto.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

After I decided on that palette, I leaned on a lot of wedding Instagram accounts to get additional inspiration – I saw one outdoor wedding, and they had their cocktail bar under a massive, beautiful tree, and I thought it was the coolest thing ever! I knew I wanted to re-create something similar, so I ended up wanting to bring a tree in some way under the tent. Aubrey Maria Sirios, my florist, was really the mastermind behind bringing that to life, and she crushed it.

Instead of a cake, there was ice cream from Mad Martha’s local ice cream cart, along with assorted miniature desserts.

My mom and sister made me custom silk scarves that had symbols of all the important/impactful parts of both of our lives, and we placed them on everyone’s seats. When we walked into the tent for the first time as bride and groom, everyone was waving them in the air, and it was so fun and definitely got the energy going.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

The best part about our wedding was just being excited to talk to literally every person there. It’s a wild experience to have everyone you love and care about in one place. We were super grateful that all our loved ones made the Trek out to Martha’s Vineyard. We know it’s not an easy place to get to. We also loved the dance floor energy at the end of the night; it was electric, and James and I ended up on the band stage together and had so much fun.

Set against rolling hills of San Juan Capistrano, CA, McKenna and Cameron’s wedding weekend was full of timeless romance and relaxed California elegance. The weekend began with a playful ranch-inspired welcome party that guests to “saddle up” for cocktails and western-inspired details, creating a warm and festive atmosphere before transitioning into the refined aesthetic of the wedding day. For the ceremony, guests were welcomed to the picturesque setting of 5M Ranch where a crisp white aisle stretched across lush green lawns toward a lush floral arch overflowing with soft blush, cream, and garden-inspired blooms. The reception space was transformed into an airy open-air structure draped with flowing blush fabric, creating a dreamy glow throughout the celebration. Elegant gold lantern chandeliers hung overhead, and soft neutral wood flooring, woven chairs, and cane furniture brought natural texture to the design. Guests gathered around relaxed lounge seating on the lawn during cocktail hour before moving inside to dine beneath the drapery. Tables were adorned with lush garden-style florals in soft pinks, creams, and fresh greens, arranged in romantic, airy compositions that felt abundant yet natural. As the evening progressed, the celebration came alive with a live band that energized the room. The design balanced sophisticated details with relaxed California charm, and Makenna & Camerion’s wedding was a celebration that felt elevated and joyful.

It was truly a labor of love, but it felt important to us that every guest knew how meaningful their role had been in our lives. It was our way of thanking them for their support and celebrating this next chapter together. To tie it all together, we incorporated the menu as the envelope liner.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

We wanted our wedding to feel like a beautiful garden party, but also be a celebration our guests would never forget. That’s what led us to having a live band—and one of our favorite moments was when the horn section paraded through the reception to lead everyone out to the dance floor on the back lawn. It was such a fun, high-energy way to kick off the party.

A Sintra-to-Seaside Wedding Weekend Filled with Culture, Color, and Fireworks

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The wedding color palette evolved beautifully throughout the three-day celebration, with each event introducing a new mood while still feeling cohesive across the entire weekend. The festivities began with the Haldi ceremony, where vibrant shades of sunny yellow, marigold, and soft pink filled the gardens of Penha Longa. Bright florals and warm tones reflected the joyful spirit of the tradition and set the tone for the colorful celebrations ahead. For the welcome dinner and Sangeet, the palette transitioned into gold, champagne, and blush, creating a glamorous atmosphere for an evening filled with music, dancing, and celebration. The Indian ceremony embraced timeless tradition, with the bride wearing a rich red lehenga and the groom in classic ivory, surrounded by romantic garden florals that balanced vibrant cultural color with elegant natural tones. For the Western ceremony and reception, the design softened into a refined palette of white, ivory, sage green, blush, and subtle gold accents, creating a romantic coastal aesthetic that complemented the historic seaside setting at Forte da Cruz. Together, the evolving palette told the story of the weekend, moving from vibrant Indian celebration colors to soft, timeless European elegance.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Sara and Prerak envisioned their wedding as a multi-day destination celebration that blended Indian heritage, Arab influences, and the timeless romance of Portugal. Planned by Unique Dream Wedding, the three-day event unfolded across several breathtaking locations within Penha Longa Resort in Sintra. The Haldi ceremony took place in a lush garden setting framed by the Sintra mountains, where vibrant yellow décor and joyful traditions created a colorful beginning to the weekend. Throughout the celebration, romantic floral installations by Decorelle transformed each space, from vibrant ceremony backdrops to elegant reception arrangements. The Sangeet transformed the historic cloisters into a glamorous evening of music and dancing, with lighting and production by Rituais and HBCV bringing the celebration to life. The following day’s Indian ceremony honored tradition in a beautiful garden setting, ending with an unforgettable surprise, a dramatic Arabic fire show that delighted guests and brought the evening to a spectacular close. For the final day, the celebration moved to Forte da Cruz, a historic seaside venue overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The Western ceremony embraced a soft and romantic aesthetic with white florals, flowing fabrics, and coastal views. The evening reception culminated in a magical moment as Sara and Prerak cut their wedding cake, created by Edelweiss, beneath a breathtaking fireworks display over the ocean.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Sara and Prerak met within the first few weeks of dental school, forming an immediate connection that grew into a relationship rooted in deep friendship and unwavering support. They began dating in January 2019, building a life together through the years that followed. On July 29, 2023, in Boston, Prerak planned an outdoor proposal on a perfect summer day—until a sudden torrential rainstorm forced a last-minute change. While Sara spent the day unaware, he quietly reimagined every detail. That evening, what she believed was a simple dinner led her to a private elevator in a Boston skyscraper. When the doors opened, she stepped into a candlelit corridor lined with flowers and soft music. At the end, Prerak was waiting. He took her hand, got down on one knee, and asked her to build a life together rooted in love and lifelong friendship. Sara said yes, overcome with emotion, and moments later, both of their families appeared, transforming the intimate proposal into a joyful celebration. Blending Sara’s Middle Eastern heritage with Prerak’s Indian roots, their engagement marked the beginning of a refined and deeply meaningful multicultural celebration.

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

The bridesmaids’ looks were thoughtfully curated to reflect the tone of each celebration throughout the wedding weekend. For the Indian festivities, they wore lehengas by Lashkaraa, embracing rich textures and intricate details that complemented the vibrant atmosphere of the events. For the Western celebrations, the bridesmaids wore soft yellow-toned dresses by Birdy Grey, featuring delicate embellishments that created a cohesive and romantic bridal party look. The warm, pastel hues added a gentle glow to the overall aesthetic, beautifully complementing the evolving color palette of the weekend while allowing the bride’s look to remain the focal point. The maid of honor stood out in an elegant gown by Badgley Mischka, adding a touch of refined glamour while still harmonizing seamlessly with the rest of the bridal party. Together, their elegant silhouettes worked beautifully within the garden setting, bringing a soft and sophisticated balance to the brighter tones of the festivities.

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The groomsmen complemented the celebration’s color palette with coordinated soft pink attire for the Indian celebrations, bringing a vibrant and festive energy to the wedding party.

A Snow-Kissed Aspen Wedding with Timeless White Blooms

[section title=”The Planning”]

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The vision for the wedding was a romantic and elevated black-tie affair. The bride wanted the design to reflect the tone of the entire wedding weekend— intimate and warm, yet refined with a sophisticated and timeless aesthetic. Each detail was thoughtfully layered to create an atmosphere that felt both elegant and inviting.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

The bride grew up spending much of her childhood at her grandparents’ farm in Lafayette, Alabama. The Groom knew that there was no place more special to the bride, and since her grandparents had passed a would not be a part of this special time, the Groom knew that the farm was the perfect place to propose—surrounded by friends and family, of course. So, on Easter weekend, the Bride and Groom traveled to her hometown for the holiday. When they stopped at the farm on the way in and no one was there, the bride knew something was up. The two walked down to the bride’s favorite spot, and the Groom got down on one knee. And the rest is history.

The reception was held at Cache Cache, an elegant French restaurant right in the heart of downtown Aspen. The reception began with a cocktail hour where the guests enjoyed an open bar and endless French wine as well as passed hors d’oeuvres consisting of duck confit tacos, crab cakes, 7X beef meatball, and Ecuadorian shrimp. The wedding guests were then wined and dined with a sit-down, candlelit dinner. As if they were guests of Cache Cache on any normal Friday night, the guests ordered from a three-course menu with choices, including, along others, Alaskan King Crab, Organic Scottish Salmon Tartare, Escargots à la Bourguignonne, Pappardelle 7X Ranch Wagyu Beef Cheek Ragoût, Colorado Rack of Lamb, Veal Ossobuco, Wild Black Sea Bass, and, of course, warm chocolate chip cookies and wedding cake.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Florals and décor for the wedding were intentionally designed around a monochromatic palette of soft whites to reflect the season in Aspen while complementing the warm, timeless atmosphere of the couple’s reception venue, Cache Cache. With early April still bringing snow to the mountains, the couple wanted the design to feel fresh and seasonal while allowing the natural beauty of Aspen and the character of the venues to shine. The ceremony took place at Aspen Community Church, where the design approach was intentionally understated to honor the beauty of the historic space. Delicate pew florals of white garden roses and ranunculus tied with flowing ivory ribbon created a romantic aisle leading to the altar, where glowing pillar candles framed the cross and added warmth to the candlelit sanctuary. For the reception at Cache Cache, the floral design shifted to an intimate, dinner-party style aesthetic that enhanced the restaurant’s classic European ambiance. Tables featured petite arrangements of ranunculus, sweet peas, and delicate seasonal blooms in low bowls and small glass vessels, allowing candlelight and the atmosphere of the room to take center stage. Select tables incorporated larger arrangements of hydrangea, orchids, and airy branching elements to add movement and dimension throughout the space. Crisp white linens, ribbed glass votives, and custom gold table numbers echoed the ornate motif used throughout the stationery, while embroidered monogram napkins added a personalized detail. The result was a timeless and understated design that felt effortlessly elegant, allowing the charm of Aspen in early spring and the intimate setting of Cache Cache to take center stage. Paper everything done by Craftmaster Printers (including metal seating chart easels).

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The couple’s wedding cake was created by Diana Morrissey, who came highly recommended by the team at Cache Cache. The bride opted for a simple and elegant two-tier cake, embracing a timeless aesthetic that complemented the overall design of the day. The cake was finished with a charming antique-style bride and groom topper, a music box sourced from Etsy, adding a meaningful and nostalgic detail.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

The ceremony music was performed by organist Susan Nicholson, who was recommended by Aspen Community Church. Her playing added a timeless and reverent tone to the ceremony. The ceremony was officiated by one of the father of the bride’s oldest and dearest friends. DJ Naka G, with the help of JAK Innovations, created the perfect reception performance. From a cocktail hour and dinner filled with The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong, and Frank Sinatra to an after-party spent singing and dancing on the bar to ABBA, Chappell Roan, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift, and of course, Lynyrd Skynyrd. Once the dinner concluded, and it was time to move everyone into the bar area to dance, rainbow perimeter lighting that changed colors to the beat of each song lit up on every wall, so it was a clear sign to Guests that the party was starting! The bride surprised everyone with an outfit change and made a reappearance to Outkast’s “Ms. Jackson” as an homage to her new last name. The couple danced to Nat King Cole’s, L-O-V-E. The bride and her father then danced to Perry Como and Betty Hutton’s, A Bushel and a Peck, a song the bride’s grandmother used to always sing. There was not a dry eye in the room when the bride surprised her father at the end of the song with a voicemail of her grandmother singing the chorus. The groom and his mother had every guest on their feet and clapping along to The Bellamy Brothers’ Let Your Love Flow. Just as soon as the first dances ended, the party started.DJ Naka wasted no time as he turned up the music and turned on the neon lights.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]The wedding date—a date especially meaningful as it marked what would have been the 62nd wedding anniversary of the bride’s beloved grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Barry Whatley, Sr. The grandparents who lived on the same farm where the groom proposed. The couple also honored their covenant of marriage by the bride wearing her grandmother’s wedding bands. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

The wedding day began with a magical first look at the top of Aspen Mountain. The bride rode up the Silver Queen Gondola to meet the groom with her father. The most special one-on-one time for a father and his first little girl. Fresh snow and the endless mountain views created a moment straight out of a fairy tale as the bride walked through the fresh snow to meet her groom. The two then rode back down the gondola, where they were greeted by the bridesmaids (and a few friends enjoying a pre-wedding après ski cocktail)!

A Garden Party Wedding Rooted in a Shared Love of Flowers and Nature

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Rachel and Adam share a love of gardening and florals. In fact, for their engagement session, we went to a nursery and garden, as this is part of them and their story. Because of this, they wanted to have an outdoor garden party wedding and chose a beautiful estate that was formerly a nursery for their venue. And they complemented the blooming florals of the venue with garden floral design.

It was a hot summer day, so Rachel and Adam planned a lavender lemonade cocktail to welcome their guests as a refreshment before the ceremony began. During cocktail hour, guests were treated to delicious tray-passed appetizers. And for dessert, Ben and Jerry’s served ice cream to cool everyone down in the evening.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Rachel and Adam wanted garden floral arrangements that echoed the garden estate, and Moonflower Design Co delivered both for the ceremony and reception. The ombre of white, to lavender, to pale blue set the tone for an elegant aesthetic with hydrangeas, delphinium, and clematis intentionally arranged in gorgeous, loose, and organic arrangements. Their reception tables included floral-patterned table linens to continue the garden theme, and sweet lamps dotted the serpentine table layout.

The wedding cake was four tiers and continued the floral theme with painted greenery and a sugar flower adornment. The classic white base and simple green leaf design was a refined compliment to their elegant wedding aesthetic.

A French Countryside Wedding Centered on Garden Beauty, Long Lunches, and Effortless Elegance

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Soft natural neutrals, ivory, whites, buttery yellow, and soft foliage greens. We chose soft, natural colours to complement the beauty of the château and its surrounding gardens and vineyards. The setting was already so breathtaking that we wanted the palette to enhance it rather than distract from it. Neutral tones and delicate florals in white and buttery yellow blended beautifully with the landscape and created a romantic, effortless atmosphere.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Our vision was romantic, natural, and effortlessly elegant, allowing the château and its gardens to be the true backdrop of the celebration. We leaned into the beauty of the surroundings, creating a soft, organic aesthetic with flowing florals, natural texture,s and thoughtful details that felt relaxed yet refined. More than anything, we wanted the day to feel joyful and full of life. The atmosphere we hoped to create was one where guests could enjoy incredible food, music, sunshine, and the company of people they love, all while surrounded by the beauty of the French countryside.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Alfie proposed on the rooftop of our apartment in Sydney while we were living in Australia. With the help of a company called Eleven Events, he completely transformed the space with rugs and cushions, a flower-covered arch, candles, champagne, and a beautiful spread of charcuterie, fruit, and delicious nibbles. On the day of the proposal, I was meant to finish work early, but Alfie was running behind setting everything up, so he secretly asked my boss to keep me at work for a couple more hours. By the time I finally left, I was starving and slightly grumpy, and when I told Alfie I was on my way home, he asked me to come up to the rooftop because he had a surprise. I was convinced he had surprised me with a puppy and just wanted to grab food and head to the beach, but when I opened the door, he was on one knee in the middle of the flower arch, asking me to marry him. I blurted out that I thought it was going to be a puppy before immediately saying yes, and we both cried before celebrating with champagne and the beautiful food prepared.

I had visited so many bridal boutiques in London and was beginning to feel like I would never find the dress. Then I went to The Wedding Club in Knightsbridge, and the moment I tried on my gown, I knew it was the one. It felt effortless, dreamy, and incredibly romantic, with the most beautiful embroidery that made it feel truly special. The dress fit almost perfectly and needed very little tailoring, which felt like a sign that it was meant to be. I loved how elegant and comfortable it felt, especially for a summer wedding in the French countryside

I wanted my bridesmaids to feel gorgeous, confident, and completely comfortable. I chose dresses from Shona Joy in a beautiful yellow that felt soft, joyful, and perfect for a summer celebration. Each of the girls wore a different variation of the same colour so they could choose a style that suited them best. The mix of silhouettes created a relaxed and natural look while still feeling cohesive and elegant.

Food and drink were incredibly important to us, especially as we were getting married in France, where cuisine is such a huge part of the culture. One of our favourite dishes was the truffle, ricotta, and mushroom ravioli, which guests are still talking about. We chose a family-style sharing menu, which really added to the relaxed, communal atmosphere we wanted for the evening. Guests could enjoy a variety of starters, mains, and desserts while passing dishes around the table and sharing the experience. During the drinks reception, we served canapés alongside champagne, and later in the evening, we surprised everyone with a late-night croque monsieur, which was the perfect treat after hours of dancing.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The florals were soft, romantic, and natural, with whites and buttery yellow blooms combined with delicate foliage. Alfie’s sister’s team in London flew out to do the flowers and brought everything together beautifully, creating arrangements that felt effortless and elegant while perfectly complementing the château gardens. The décor and props included beautiful parasols and relaxed styling that enhanced the outdoor setting without overwhelming it. Everything felt light, romantic, and harmonious with the surroundings.

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]A close friend read a passage from The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho during the ceremony, which felt incredibly meaningful and fitting for the moment. Our celebrant was also a dear friend from Australia, which made the ceremony feel deeply personal and intimate.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Music was hugely important to us because we originally met at a music festival thirteen years to the day before our wedding. I walked down the aisle to Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” my late father’s favourite song, beautifully performed on the violin. The violinist continued playing throughout the ceremony and reception, creating a magical atmosphere that carried through the entire celebration.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

Food and drink were incredibly important to us, especially as we were getting married in France, where cuisine and wine are such an important part of the culture. Guests were welcomed with champagne on arrival before the ceremony, setting the tone for a joyful and celebratory day.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

Dinner was served family-style to encourage a relaxed, shared atmosphere around the tables. One of the standout dishes was the truffle, ricotta, and mushroom ravioli, which guests are still talking about. Canapés during the reception and a late-night croque monsieur kept everyone fuelled for an evening of dancing and celebration.

A Jewel-Toned River Bottoms Ranch Wedding with Heart, Humor, and High Design

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Jewel tones

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The overall vibe of this wedding was romantic, bold, and joyously personal, a celebration that felt both thoughtfully curated and beautifully unforgettable. From the moment guests opened the jewel‑toned invitation suite — featuring custom watercolor art that hinted at the rich palette and elevated design to come — it was clear this day was not going to be ordinary. Every detail, from the rich florals that took center stage to the lively interactive dinner stations, was chosen with intention, creating an immersive experience that felt warm, inviting, and full of personality. The ranch backdrop of River Bottoms Ranch brought an organic elegance to the day, allowing the lush color story to shine against the natural surroundings and giving the celebration a sense of place that was both refined and heartfelt. True to who the couple is, the wedding celebration balanced timeless romance with playful soul — whether that was through the bride’s second pair of custom sneakers painted with their beloved pets, the groom’s nod to his professional tennis career, or the handcrafted, custom‑scented candles guests took home as favors. The atmosphere was lively and personal, blending meaningful design moments with joyful celebration so that every guest felt both seen and included. Together, these elements created a day that was elegant yet relaxed, dramatic yet deeply intimate — a storybook celebration that felt modern, evocative, and unmistakably them.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

The engagement session was nothing short of magical, bringing together the couple’s personalities and the ranch setting that would later anchor their wedding day. To honor the bride’s lifelong love of horses and the rustic elegance of River Bottoms Ranch, they chose to include two magnificent Clydesdales in the shoot — majestic creatures that added both presence and whimsy to every frame. Including horses in engagement portraits is a beautiful way to weave a couple’s lifestyle and passions into the imagery, especially in a western‑inspired setting where animals become part of the story rather than just props. The result was a set of images full of timeless romance — wide open fields, gentle connection, and the inherent grace of the Clydesdales alongside them — making this one of the most unforgettable engagement sessions of the season.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]The bride’s attention to detail was evident even in the moments before she walked down the aisle. While the bridal party prepped, she slipped into a pair of custom pajamas adorned with original watercolor art and her monogram, a playful yet perfectly curated detail that set the tone for the entire day. These personalized pieces weren’t just cozy attire for getting ready — they were a visual storybook of her aesthetic, a moment of artistry and intimacy captured on camera that reflected her love for design and meaningful personal touches. Small details like these elevated the pre‑ceremony moments into something richly memorable and beautifully photographed.

And then there was her gown — a true fairytale moment brought to life. From the way the fabric moved to how the silhouette perfectly mirrored her personality, the dress was more than just beautiful — it was her. With a design that felt both romantic and timeless, it complemented the overall celebration and made her feel like the heroine at the center of her own story. It was the perfect balance of softness, elegance, and intentional design, tying together the day’s theme of curated romance and thoughtful creativity.[/field]

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]

Dinner at the celebration was anything but ordinary — we wanted the meal to feel interactive, abundant, and full of joy, so we curated a collection of custom action stations that kept guests moving and mingling throughout the evening. From a classic Philly cheesesteak station to a wood‑fire pizza oven and a rich rigatoni pasta station, each station brought its own personality and playful energy to the night, inviting guests to build their own favorite bites and savor every moment together. During cocktail hour, creative bite‑sized hors d’oeuvres set the tone, offering elegant little tastes that complemented the lively atmosphere. For dessert, we embraced variety and delight — from gooey s’mores by the fire to plenty of wedding cake — ensuring that no one left without a smile (or a second helping). It was a culinary experience that felt both heartfelt and celebratory, and guests are still talking about how well‑fed and happy they were all night long.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The florals were truly the heart of this wedding’s design and instantly set the tone for the whole day. With a jewel‑toned palette that felt rich, romantic, and unexpected, every arrangement was a visual moment — from the lush ceremony installations to the reception centerpieces that filled River Bottoms Ranch with dreamy color and texture. Deep hues and layered blooms created drama and dimension, making the floral design feel like a work of art woven throughout the celebration.

What made the floral story even more meaningful was that the bride herself is a florist, and flowers were not just décor but the design priority from the start. Her vision came to life in every stem and bouquet — so much so that she chose to carry two bouquets, each reflecting a different facet of her personal style and love for blooms.

The result was a display of color, texture, and movement that felt completely one‑of‑a‑kind this wedding season at River Bottoms Ranch — bold, romantic, and unforgettable.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The dessert moment was a true highlight of the evening, with not just one but two beautifully styled wedding cakes that delighted guests and doubled as design focal points. The main cake was especially striking — we repurposed the ceremony arch to frame it, creating a sculptural moment that felt both cohesive with the day’s aesthetic and captivating in photos. Artfully adorned with the couple’s custom monogram, this cake became a central visual anchor of the reception, inviting guests to pause and admire the detail and craftsmanship. Alongside it stood a second cake with a joyful personal touch: the phrase “Happily Evertson” — a playful and heartfelt nod to the couple’s new shared name — adding warmth and personality to the dessert presentation. Together, these two cakes felt intentional, artful, and perfectly in tune with the romantic atmosphere of the celebration

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”][/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Every detail told a piece of this wedding’s story — and nowhere was that more true than in the beautifully curated flatlay of signage and paper goods, which took hours to photograph because there was simply so much to admire. From custom signage to the jewel‑toned invitation suite, every piece was thoughtfully designed and perfectly styled to give guests (and later, the camera) a poetic preview of the day. Flatlays like this are more than just pictures — they set the tone for the celebration and capture the artful design priorities of the couple.

The invitation suite itself was a standout moment: rendered in rich jewel tones with custom watercolor art, it served as the very first glimpse into the aesthetic guests were invited to experience. These suites did more than convey logistics — they introduced the feeling of the wedding, hinting at the romance, color, and intentional design that awaited.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

We have to take a moment for the shoes — they were unforgettable. For the ceremony, the bridal heels were absolute perfection and served as her elegant “something blue”, nodding to tradition most stylishly. But the story didn’t end there. For dancing and late‑night fun, the bride changed into a pair of custom flat sneakers that were nothing short of art. Each pair was hand‑painted with whimsical watercolor portraits of the couple’s beloved pets, turning something practical into a deeply personal keepsake. To reflect the groom’s identity as a professional tennis player, a delicate tennis racket motif was incorporated — merging personality with playfulness. These shoes weren’t just comfortable — they were expressive, creative, and completely one‑of‑a‑kind, giving guests something to smile about long after the last dance.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]As the night wound down, guests were sent home with a gift that was just as intentional and meaningful as the rest of the celebration — a custom‑scented candle created by the bride and groom themselves. Each candle was thoughtfully made to embody the couple’s favorite fragrance notes, giving the favor a signature scent that guests could carry home as a reminder of the day’s warmth and joy.

Beautifully presented with jewel‑toned ribbon and bespoke monogrammed tissue paper, the favors felt like mini keepsakes — a thoughtful blend of design and sentiment that echoed the wedding’s aesthetic. These candles weren’t just decorative; they were little reminders of an evening filled with love, laughter, and light.[/field]

Food holds deep cultural significance for the couple, so creating an abundant and thoughtfully curated dining experience was a top priority. At the traditional ceremony, guests enjoyed jollof rice, a beloved and iconic dish that honored the couple’s cultural heritage. For the wedding reception, the menu transitioned into plated dishes highlighting classic American cuisine. The culinary experience needed to reflect a beautiful fusion of cultures while offering a wide variety of dishes to ensure every guest felt welcomed and cared for at the table.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The floral design embraced a timeless palette of all-white blooms accented with soft, natural greenery. Lush arrangements were thoughtfully layered throughout the celebration to complement the elegance of the mansion setting, creating a romantic and classic atmosphere that felt both elevated and effortlessly beautiful.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The wedding cake was a four-tier design featuring a selection of tuxedo, red velvet, and vanilla flavors, offering guests a variety of classic favorites. As a special surprise for the groom, the bride also incorporated a groom’s cake inspired by his professional soccer career. The playful soccer-themed cake was a thoughtful and personal detail that celebrated Emmanuel’s passion for the sport and added a fun moment to the evening.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]The ceremony was beautifully personal and filled with meaningful moments. The bride walked down the aisle to “I Believe in You and Me” by Whitney Houston, performed live by her matron of honor and sister, making the moment incredibly emotional and intimate. [field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Faith was deeply woven into the ceremony through meaningful traditions. The couple included the tying of cords as a unity ritual, symbolizing the scripture Ecclesiastes 4:12 and the strength of a marriage centered in faith. They also shared communion for the first time as husband and wife, creating a quiet and powerful moment that reflected their commitment to building their life and union on a spiritual foundation.

Dancing plays a significant role in the couple’s culture, so the dancefloor was designed to be a central part of the celebration. Rather than using a traditional rental floor, the couple incorporated a custom dancefloor that complemented the overall design aesthetic and décor. Magnolia Leaves and Candlelight Set the Tone for This Charleston Celebration

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Alexandra and Jacob envisioned a wedding day that felt timeless and was rooted in the charm of Charleston. Their design leaned into the classic sophistication of white florals with subtle touches of southern greenery woven throughout every element of the day. Emerald green accents appeared across the flat lay details, bridesmaid dresses, and paper goods, creating a refined palette that complemented the historic beauty of Lowndes Grove. Florals by Charleston Florist incorporated magnolia leaves, sea moss, and lush white blooms, giving the arrangements a distinctly Southern feel that blended seamlessly with the coastal setting.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The reception took place beneath the tent overlooking the water, where the design carried forward the couple’s vision of classic elegance with Southern influence. Long tables dressed in the Terra Violet linen from Stradley Davidson created a layered and inviting tablescape, with the ceiling covered in full drapery. White florals and greenery arrangements by Charleston Florist ran the length of the tables alongside glowing candlelight, adding warmth as the evening transitioned from sunset into night. The natural light filtering through the tent during golden hour created an especially magical atmosphere for dinner. Guests dined on cuisine by Patrick Properties Hospitality Group, while music from Five Star Funk took over the dance floor and kept guests celebrating late into the evening.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

“Once we decided Lowndes Grove was the perfect setting for our wedding, we decided we didn’t want to ‘gild the lily’ by going overboard with bright colors or too trendy décor. We wanted the naturally beautiful Lowcountry evening to let the estate’s charm and scenery speak for themselves. The entire wedding day felt deeply personal and truly reflective of us as a couple and all the care we put into creating it. The bride was an art history major, so artful accents were her favorite design flair. The table numbers and seating chart were based on French Rococo and Neo-Classical paintings from the 18th century, reflecting the personality and period of the estate. Our vendors really did exceed every expectation. They not only brought our vision to life so beautifully, but were so patient, collaborative, and thoughtful throughout the entire process. Their creativity and attention to detail made every part of the wedding day feel visually stunning while still feeling completely true to us. We spent so much time carefully choosing each group we worked with, and we’re so grateful we did. We are still so in love with our florals; they were beyond all our Pinterest dreams and so perfectly captured the organic yet sophisticated Southern evening. The linens were also one of our favorite reception details. They not only accented beautifully with the oyster place setting and cut crystal stemware, but were stylishly harmonious with the elegant Lowcountry atmosphere of the evening. One of our favorite moments was during the Father-of-the-Bride speech, when the bride’s dad broke into a surprise Sinatra song, band and all. No one knew it was coming, not even the Mother-of-the-Bride, and it instantly became a once-in-a-lifetime moment we’ll never forget. A moment we keep going back to was our exit from the main house into a vintage Rolls-Royce. Seeing all of our loved ones gathered together at the end of the most incredible day was such an indescribable, incandescent moment, that we are so thrilled to have been so beautifully captured by our fabulous photographer.” – Alexandra + Jacob Altstadt

Alexandra and Jacob had a few amazing speeches by members of their wedding party, where each got to take a turn and say a little something. This flowed right into the welcome party, where everyone was invited to attend post-dinner service. The sign outside the American Theater read “In Technicolor, Alexandra + Jacob, 3.7.26”

Alexa and Jeremy’s wedding day was a masterclass in organic elegance, where natural beauty met refined sophistication. Alexa chose the Saundra gown by Varca Studio — a dreamily sculpted strapless ballgown in Japanese tissue taffeta, cut to a romantic basque waist that elongates the silhouette with effortless elegance. Its voluminous skirt felt perfectly at home against the sweeping Aegean backdrop, while the exposed corset back added a quietly sensual, editorial detail that photographed beautifully from every angle.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]The culinary experience was a love letter to the flavors of the Greek islands, with every dish rooted in the fresh, local produce of Paros — from a family-style Greek salad crowned with Cretan Mizithra cheese, to a showstopping grouper fillet finished with a Moschofilero white wine sauce, and a Greek breed beef fillet paired with Jerusalem artichoke and aged Jerez vinegar. The evening began with passed bites of hand-rolled spanakopita and prawn skewers during cocktail hour, and ended with loukoumades drizzled in golden honey and a late-night spread of comfort food to keep the dance floor going. Guests raised a glass to the couple all evening with a premium open bar flowing with top-shelf spirits, a curated selection of Greek wines, and two bespoke signature cocktails providing a playful, personal touch that set the tone for a truly unforgettable night.[/field]

The ceremony took place on a stunning Amphitheatre carved into the hillside, overlooking the crystalline Aegean Sea. A sweeping arc of lush florals created an organic gateway for the couple’s vows. The reception design celebrated a fresh, modern palette of sage green and crisp white with touches of natural texture. Long feasting tables were draped in exquisite sage damask linens, creating an elegant foundation for the tablescape. A continuous floral runner of white and green hydrangeas mixed with delicate blooms cascaded down the center, punctuated by glowing white taper candles. Plush, shell-backed chairs in soft cream surrounded the tables, adding a touch of contemporary luxury. Round tables featured a beautiful contrast with woven rattan chairs that nodded to the Mediterranean setting, while maintaining the elegant aesthetic.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Rather than pausing the celebration for a traditional cake cutting, Alexa and Jeremy chose to honour the sweetness of their Greek surroundings with a lavish dessert buffet stationed alongside the dance floor — an abundant spread of loukoumades, baklava, and fresh fruit that guests could indulge in between dances, keeping the energy alive and the night beautifully uninterrupted.[/field]

Music was at the heart of Alexa and Jeremy’s celebration from the very first moment. The ceremony was set to songs close to their hearts, performed live and intimately by guitar and keys, creating an atmosphere that was deeply personal and quietly unforgettable. As dinner drew to a close, the band’s saxophonist made his way through the tables, filling the air with infectious energy and leading every guest down to the dance floor in the most joyful, cinematic way. From there, the London Soho City Collective took over for two electrifying hours — weaving through decades of soul, R&B, disco, and pop with the kind of seamless energy that kept the dance floor absolutely packed all night, from Beyoncé and Whitney Houston to Ibiza classics and a roof-raising encore of Mr. Brightside. The first dance, a live rendition of Can’t Take My Eyes Off You by Frankie Valli, set the tone for a night where every song felt like a celebration.

Honouring the rich tapestry of their shared heritage, Alexa and Jeremy wove two deeply meaningful traditions into their ceremony — the bride’s mother presented the ceremonial wedding crowns, treasured heirlooms that had graced the heads of the Greek women in their family for generations, while Jeremy paid tribute to his Jewish roots with the ceremonial breaking of the glass, a joyful and symbolic close to their vows, uniting both cultures in a single, deeply moving celebration of love and family.

In a series of truly unforgettable moments, Alexa and Jeremy made the night entirely their own — their first dance to *Can’t Take My Eyes Off You* was made all the more tender by the bride’s sister taking the microphone to perform it live, before the couple later stormed the stage to join the band for a euphoric rendition of *Mr. Brightside*, closing the night most spectacularly by leaping off the stage and crowd surfing into the arms of their closest friends.
