New York City Elopement from Alicia Swedenborg Photography

There’s a reason why some of the world’s greatest love stories take place in the heart of New York City, and that reason is simple.  NYC rocks… and amongst all of the bright lights, hustle and bustle and excitement is a true and honest romantic vibe that bursts from every last building, borough and city sidewalk.  It’s the kind of place that makes you want to grab your honey and say “I do” with nothing but each other; the kind of place that is made for elopements.  And this darling duo’s day is just that.  An amazing affair with a stunning Zetterberg Couture gown and Alicia Swedenborg on hand to capture every moment.  Click here for sooo much more.

From Alicia SwedenborgThis couple is from Sweden and grew up in the country but loves the opposite – a big city! So they decided to elope and get married in New York City. It was just the two of them, no guests and we had plenty of time taking photos in the sunset!

Florida Wedding at Hammock Beach Resort from Liga Photography

Liga Photography is filling our screens with a seriously gorgeous Florida fête today, and for that, I couldn’t be more grateful. Because if there was ever a way to get your work week of to the prettiest of starts, it would be soaking up every last lovely image in this gallery. Elegant, classic, filled to the brim with love – I don’t think it gets much better. See it all here.

From Abby LigaSometimes there are moments in life where you just know that it feels right. When meeting and working with Kristin and Jonathan, that “right” was something I felt between them immediately. I love being able to feel that with my couples. There’s a sense of purity and honor that Kristin and Jonathan share between each other, and it’s quite easy to see it. Their wedding took place at the luxurious Hammock Beach Resort, perfectly nestled right on the coast of the Atlantic here in Florida. From Kristin’s classic beige leather Louboutins and pale pink bridesmaids dresses, to ivory flowers and muted gray linens, keeping it natural was the name of the game. Lisa Stoner of E-Events and Botanica did one fantastic job of setting the intimate tone of the day with design and floral. It was truly an honor to be the one to document their wedding. Thank you to the lovely Kristin and Jonathan for being such wonderful people and subjects.

Malibu Wedding at Calamigos Ranch from Figlewicz Photography

I’ve seen my fair share of stunning ceremonies, but in the land of drop-dead gorgeous seaside locales, this pretty little gem of beachy goodness (otherwise known as Calamigos Ranch) reigns supreme.  I’m talking crashing ocean waves, crystal blue skies and cliffside nuptials perfect for marrying.  Add to all of that pretty the fab stylings of WB Event Planning, a rustic meets vintage meets garden party (!) reception and an entire gallery of lovely from Figlewicz Photography and, well.  That’s what we call the perfect Friday. See it all in the full gallery.

From Casey at Figlewicz PhotographyAmy and Kyle’s wedding was perfection! They were married at Calamigo’s Ranch in Malibu. They met for the first time nearby at Zuma Beach in Malibu, and that is also where Kyle proposed! You could not have asked for better beach weather, the sun was shining (even the beach-goers watched the ceremony) and the ocean was sparkling! The intricate details of the reception were to die for, and the mint and peach colors were delectable! This intimate gathering was filled with love, laughter, and a lot of fun!

Sonoma Wedding from Nancy Liu Chin Designs

We’re ending things on a higher than high note today with this gorgeous wedding sent to us by Nancy Liu Chin Designs who masterminded the explosion of florals you’re about to encounter. It’s a blanket of the prettiest pastels and a classic take on the vineyard wedding set against the backdrop of Viansa Winery. So let’s wrap up those last few emails, kick those heels up and start the weekend off with this pretty ditty shot by Stephanie Williams. Heck it’s five o’clock somewhere and the gallery is calling your name.

From Nancy Liu Chin DesignsHave you ever been to a wedding that you just didn’t want to leave?  This is how I would describe Clarice and Hubert’s  wedding at Viansa Winery in Napa.  Even though it was in a tent at Viansa, it felt ike I was attending a wedding at Clarice and Hubert’s back yard lawn.   Though I was only their floral designer, everything about that felt warm and inviting from the moment you were greeted with refreshing drinks to the s’mores by the fire.

One of my favorite things was the sign at the ceremony  — “Today we become a family, please take a seat, not a side.”  It really spoke volumes that Clarice and Hubert wanted their families, relatives, friends to be one.  There was this spirit of joyfulness and unity.   You couldn’t help but be taken in by it’s  warmth.

In all the details, the elegance and reserved beauty that exemplified Clarice the bride’s personal style came through while the fun and whimsy were reflected of Hubert, the groom’s laid back manner shown in his carefree, wide grin.  These two have been through a lot together and their journey as individuals and as a couple were reflected in many ways details.  In their guidepost, you see all the key places where their courtship took them.  In their milestone was marked.   In the table numbers, guests were treated to their dating history.  And on and on.

Every detail was thoughtfully prepared by Clarice who was more than just a client, she was a partner whether she was the event designer, planner or craft/ DIY enthusiast.  From her pastel hues to her embroidered gossamer like bolero, from the curved calligraphy on her invitations to  the bocce ball game setup, from the refined bite size hors d’oeuvres to the Yum Yum food truck — it was just one of those weddings that felt right, felt real to me.   Why would I want the night to end?

As for the flowers —- the flower  were really important to Clarice and we met at my studio many times to refine what Clarice wanted which was bountiful, gentle, natural in movement, not too tailored or stuffy serene. I would also add that it was important that the blooms be “Graceful”.  Flowers that we used included creamy hydrangea, garden roses, blushing bride, parrot tulips which were the bride’s favorites, cyclamen, and so many more.

One of my favorite things was the beautiful welcome table that had spools of thread and wonderful seamstress notions.  These were very important details because Clarice loves to sew and create.  In fact, she was inspired by her own sister’s wedding to begin crafting.  Her floral hairpieces and ring bearer pillows are skillfully made which is why the welcome table was especially important to the design. So many of the details were crafted by Clarice but even from a professional like myself, they looked top notch.  So well designed, so well throughout.

The Cherry Sidecar Cocktail from Delightfully Tacky

These cocktail fridays we have going on here are proving to be both terribly dangerous and wonderfully delicious. I’ve definitely tried my hand at a number of them, and this cherry sidecar has once again piqued my interest (did someone say brandy soaked cherries?!) Captured by Delightfully Tacky, grab the full recipe below!

The Cherry Sidecar CocktailA brandy concoction in shades or purple - perfect for an evening with your girlfriends!
prep time
3 Minute/s
cook time
total time
3 Minute/s
Serves 1Ingredients
  • 2 oz cherry infused brandy*
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 oz triple sec or cointreau
  • sugar for rim
  • cherry for garnish
Instructions
  1. Make your own cherry infused brandy by letting Bing Cherries (removed from syrop) soak in brandy overnight. Use the cherries as garnish, and the liquids as mix!
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker 3/4 full with ice.
  3. Pour in lemon juice, triple sec/cointreau, and cherry brandy.
  4. Cover and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds until the outside of the shaker becomes cold and frosty.
  5. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with a cherry and lemon twist.
  6. A sidecar is most delicious with a sugar rim, and I made mine by dipping the rim in the cherry syrup from the original jar of bing cherries and then dipping in sugar, which gives the sugar rim the same cherry color as the drink!

Jacquelyn Clark

San Ramon, California Wedding from U Me Us Studios

Every so often, a wedding pops up in our submissions can only be described as smiles embodied. The decor is sunny, the day is beautiful, and the couple is giddily in love. Today, we have a wedding that is smiles embodied from U Me Us Studios and there’s not an image in this bunch that I don’t absolutely adore!

From the beautiful bride… Wilson and I wanted to get married in Northern California since almost all of our family live there. We wanted a nice venue which is intimate enough for around 100 guests and had the essence of both the indoors and outdoors. We chose the Bridges Golf Club because we thought the Garden Terrace was a beautiful setting for the outdoor wedding ceremony with a gorgeous view of the valley. For the cocktail hour and reception, the nearby Clubhouse was a perfect fit for our party size with elegant indoor decor and a terrace that still had an amazing view of the valley.

We chose different shades of chartreuse and peacock as our colors since these colors are my favorite and had both a modern and fun feel to them. I love polka dots and chevron patterns so I chose different prints in our wedding colors and made most of the decor by hand. We kept a pretty neutral palette for the linens and reception decor that were provided by the Bridges Golf Club and chose ivory tablecloths with sandlewood napkins and silver chargers along with mahogany chivari chairs. As for the cake, I love cupcakes so we decided to go for mini cupcakes with a 6″ cake for the cake cutting ceremony. Yum!

I loved walking down the aisle. It was a beautiful ceremony and the weather was perfect. Wilson and his groomsmen looked so awesome in their matching shades to help with the bright sunshine and I was so happy to finally see all my bridesmaids standing together in their different shades of green. It just looked so perfect! During the reception, our DJ had a special surprise for us when he had us play a game of Newlyweds as he had us answer questions about each other without seeing each other’s answers. They were questions like, “Who’s the best cook?”, “Who’s the messiest?”, and “Who’s always right?”. It was just so funny and I’m pretty sure we didn’t agree on most of them! But one of my absolute favorite moments was when Wilson surprised me with a choreographed dance with him and some of his high school friends to the song “What makes you beautiful” by One Direction. I was so shocked that Wilson had planned this all without me knowing but it made my night so much more special.

One of my biggest pieces of advice would be to have a day-of coordinator to help with tiny details and logistics if you can afford it. Otherwise, be really organized and designate people to have a job on the big day so everything goes by smoothly! We had a candle ceremony and bought a brand new lighter for it, but during the ceremony the lighter went missing and we ended up using an old lighter that just refused to light! It was a close call but things eventually worked out in the end.

Lastly I’d just like to say that your wedding day is yours. Do what YOU want to do. Make sure you know what you want to do on that day and MAKE TIME for it. It’ll go by FAST. I wish I could have spent more time chitchatting and catching up with people or eating or dancing but there’s only so much time for that and pictures and other logistics. As long as there’s time, just ENJOY it! And then you’ll always have the pictures to enjoy for years to come.

Romantic Day After Shoot from Brancoprata

I’m the first one to admit to admit that I love Brancoprata. Like love, love, love. They are the super talented duo behind this two day after the big day shoot with André behind the camera and his uber talented wife, Sofia, on the design and floral side of things. Have a look at the imagery that combines gorgeous photographs of a glowing Mr. and Mrs. and fun, elegant details perfect for pinning.

From Brancoprata… When Gigi ask us to do a shoot just two days after her wedding day, we were head over heels with excitement, after all, on her wedding day she wore a second dress but it was so late in the evening that we didn’t get a chance to take almost any pictures! We immediately booked the session for the next Monday, after the wedding and didn’t thought about that again!! On Sunday night André looked at me and said… “Do you know what it would be fun? If we could do a styled shoot with Gigi and Eric tomorrow!!” Of course i couldn’t say no to my favorite photographer so with only a few hours to plan, I started to think about what should we do! We both thought about the same place, beautiful Gerês in the north of Portugal, our inspiration was starting to take shape… a romantic afternoon in the mountains… in the wild! Later that evening (really, really late actually!) we texted Cátia (André’s sister and make up artist) to see if she was available to do Gigi’s make up the next day… she was happy to join us and now we were really getting excited about this impromptu styled shoot! On Monday morning I went to my flower supplier and chose some blooms that were literally leftovers from the weekend! When I saw the proteas I knew that was it! Dark reds, pink, yellow and peach were the colors and as soon as I got the flowers, I ran into a local fruit shop to buy some fruit to incorporate, i thought it was the perfect touch! With less than two hours until the shoot I got to our studio and started to hunt for cool stuff to use! I sat in from of my computer and imagine a clean and very simple invitation (so different from what i designed for their wedding day)! Some personalized menus and tags for favors, soaps from a local company that we love, Castelbel felt perfect! The final touch, napkins with a flowery pattern! It was truly a race against time but when Cátia finished Gigi’s make up, we put everything in the car and started a 1h30min drive until the chosen location! With less than an hour of good light, André saved a few details to shoot on the next day, at our studio! It was truly a race against time but looking at these images i wouldn’t mind to start racing again!

SMP Living Spotlight!

Like most people, Fridays happen to be my favorite day of the week. Not only is it the start to all the weekend fun, but we get to spotlight the hippest happenings over on our sister site, Living. And this week? Maybe the best spotlight yet. So put on those crafty pants and get ready to swoon, because we’re rounding up this week’s best of the best.

Confession time: I’m not-so-handy when it comes to the DIY world. I tend to run the other way when crafters pull out the glue guns, and the sewing machine? Forget about it. So with that in mind, believe me when I say this DIY jewelry tray is as easy was 1, 2, 3. Our newest contributor, In Honor of Design, laid out the super simple steps, and you can find it all waiting right here.

On Tuesday, we dove into a day-long design series with the ever-so-talented Kishani Perera. She spelt out the steps for decorating every room the your home…and my personal favorite? This darling dining room infused with a sense of feminine style.

You know it wouldn’t be a week on SMP Living without a little dose of travel. So on Monday we packed our virtual bags, and headed to LA for a day at the Getty with miss Katie Parra. Katie shared her wisdom for getting the most out of this art museum mecca, and for the complete and total travel guide, pop right over here.

French Provincial Inspiration From We Are Origami

When stunning rustic details mix and mingle with drop-dead gorgeous French Provincial-inspired stylings, magic happens.  Pure, unadulterated magic in the form of one dazzling inspiration shoot from the likes of The Bridal CollectiveLa Petite Miette and We Are Origami.  And not just any dazzling shoot… the kind of shoot that has you dreaming of catching the first flight out to The Land Down Under and setting up camp at the breathtaking Montrose Berry Farm, a place where pretty just seems to happen. See for yourself (and get those bags ready) in the full gallery.

From Dave of We Are OrigamiThis shoot was a collaboration between a handful of super talented and amazing vendors with our stylist, Jess Colley of The Bridal Collective, co-organizing the shoot with me. The theme of the shoot, ‘Provincial Rustic Vintage,’ was set on a beautiful farm, Montrose Berry Farm, about 90 minutes drive south of Sydney in the Southern Highlands Wine Country. The venue is very well known around New South Wales and is practically booked out almost all year round – it’s a heritage listed homestead and the grounds are surrounded by the working berry farm that produces a wide variety of berries and artisanal berry products. Such an amazing venue – it’s no wonder why every photographer wants to capture a wedding here.

We wanted to keep it ‘real’, down to earth and natural, with the focus on ‘beauty is simple’.  Jess was absolutely tremendous in helping turn this shoot into reality. Her feedback and on-the-day styling to concept creation to co-ordination is unmatched. She sourced and styled all our props, centrepieces and furnitures as well as creating a cohesive theme around the Provincial Rustic Vintage concept to suit our location. We wanted to keep the look very contemporary and elegant with the base colours for our theme being browns, neutrals, wood and some greens. On a side note, Jess’s wedding was published on SMP on Jul 24!

Ali from La Petite Miette was one of those vendors that everyone loves! She supplied all the sweets and desserts. Not only do they look fabulous, but they tasted sooo good (yeah, we devoured it ALL at the end of the shoot). She supplied all of the deliciousness of the day; French Earl Grey Marshmallows, Chocolate Vanilla Bean & Olive Oil Macarons, Blackberry Pie Pops, Espresso & Hazelnut Meringues, Passionfruit, coconut and crumble dessert jars and of course, the beautiful cake!

Hannah of Three Sunbeams provided gorgeous bridal hair pieces for our models – all her pieces are handmade, using traditional millinery techniques, and the highest quality materials and embellishment around the world in which is has collected over the years. The head pieces on the day help created a timeless, utterly elegant look . She also helped co-ordinate the shoot.

Elaine of Butterfly Philosophy Flowers & Styling provided gorgeous fresh greens and clean white blooms for the brides and flower girls. Her florals are simply amazing… they made the entire session look extra beautiful with her excellent choice of native and soft florals.

Melody of Mr & Mrs designed the perfect stationery, from invitations to place cards, to compliment the theme of the shoot. Jade of Jade Lee Hair & Makeup  + Vanessa of VH Hair were able to make our brides look extra stunning on the day, with attention to detail and 4 different looks in 2 hours! Amanda of Amanda Garrett supplied our stunning models with her absolutely gorgeous gowns on the day, the Theodora and Butterfly gowns. The dresses were to die for and it gave our provincial rustic theme a more glamorous type of vintage. Our photography team, David, Joe and Belle of We Are Origami captured all the amazing details of the day. Their presence and contribution was priceless.

From Jess of The Bridal Collective The original idea for this shoot was inspired by its country location, Montrose Berry farm. The team from We Are Origami knew that they wanted to create a rustic setting but in a way that would shed new light on this theme. I had recently been inspired by the ‘white-on-white’ fashion trend and decided that the décor would have a fresh and modern feel that the colour white always brings. Being a country setting however, it was important to incorporate natural materials and textures. We played with twine, burlap and lace but in a way that was subtle and clean. The final product resembles a French provincial look in a truly Australian setting.

It was very important to me as a stylist to create something that I had not put together before and also to steer away from a heavily ‘vintage’ look. We kept the individual pieces as clean and crisp as possible whilst using crystal ware and glass to lighten the look. The gowns were especially important to achieve this look and Dave was able to source the perfect light, flowing materials to keep the look fresh and natural.

Social media also played a big role in bringing this look together as many of our vendors lived hours away. We were able to ensure that everyone was on the same page stylistically by sharing visual inspiration. It was very important for us to incorporate all of the little details that take wedding styling to an elegant level. Beautiful and intricate stationery along with handwritten calligraphy brought the finishing touch to our look. Ultimately what we wanted to achieve was a fresh take on a country wedding that can become a timeless canvas for vintage-loving brides.

Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum Wedding from Kristin La Voie Photography

This wedding is just going to make your jaw hit your desk. And really, aren’t those the best kind of weddings? It’s overflowing (and I mean overflowing) with the most gorgeous blooms you ever did see, and what makes it even better? They were all done by the Groom’s seriously talented aunt. And that’s just the beginning of all the pretty captured by Kristin La Voie Photography at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, so rather than go on and on about all the gorgeous sitting in this gallery, I’ll just let you take a looksee for yourself right here.

From KristinI am SO thrilled to share with you Jessica and Dustin’s picture perfect Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum wedding in Chicago! With the crazy weather we have been having recently, we were truly lucky to have gotten such a beautiful day to allow their ceremony to remain outside. Tying the knot under a beautiful trellis Dustin’s Aunt made (in fact she was the florist for all the florals, flown all the way out from California!) the happy duo couldn’t have looked any more gorgeous. We took photos around the nature museum as well as the famous Lincoln Park Lily Pond, and after their ceremony, the party took place inside the nature museum. The most AMAZING centerpieces I’ve ever laid eyes on were the focal points around the room. I couldn’t have asked for a more fun and breathtaking couple! [dotted]

Vintage French Romance Photo-Shoot from Sonia Bourdon

Scouring through gorgeous details day in and day out is a pretty amazing gig; one that I thank my lucky stars for each and every day.  Because, let’s face it, putting in a hard day’s work becomes decidedly less “hard” and far more “fun” when pretty, pretty inspiration is involved, especially in the form of a more than stunning photo shoot chock-full of romance and French-inspired details from the talented team of Sonia Bourdon, Autumn Wood and La Mariee Boheme (among many others).  It’s the kind of shoot that captures your heart from the very first image… and never lets go.  Fall in love right here.

From Autumn Wood… I recently did a photo-shoot in Montreal and I thought I would share it with you. Our theme was Vintage French Romance and was held at the luxurious and historic Casa Bianca B&B, a turn-of-the-century home designed and built by one of Montreal’s earlier developers. My inspiration came not only from classic beauties like Jean Kelly and Audrey Hepburn, but also the feeling I had as a little girl digging through my grandmother’s photos in a shoe box at the top of her closet. We wanted to create a wedding that evoked not only a sense of nostalgia for the beauty our grandmothers had on their wedding day, but also to create something that taps into that delicate femininity we all long for. Delicate, nostalgic and ultra feminine… what girl doesn’t dream of wearing an airy, intricate golden crown on her wedding day or sigh at the sight of a blush pink wedding ring? Our vintage aesthetic was also reflected in our colour palette with gilded, soft botanical hues in blush, peach, cream, mint, gold and antique robin’s egg blue. We focused on incorporating hand-made vintage details, from a blush pink antique sofa to handmade book-paper place cards and vintage china. Several local designers were featured, such as Jivan Collections and his custom designed rose-gold wedding ring, DiCarlo Couture’s stunning wedding gown, Letters to Jane’s hand-made, gilded, floral wedding crown, and Mademoiselle Artsy’s beautiful brooch bouquets. I hope you enjoy taking a look at what we’ve created. Thank you so much for your time and for providing me a place to show off my vision and the work of so many talented people.

Seychelles Wedding Film from Reel Love Films

I’ve never been to Seychelles.  It’s never even crossed my mind, if I am being honest.  But after viewing this breathtaking (and I mean breathtaking) film from Reel Love Films, it’s THE place I plan to vacation next. Because this island paradise?  This pretty little gem of perfection?  It’s beyond amazing… and the perfect spot for marrying.  One that these two sweeties embraced whole heartedly with an intimate group of amazing friends and family.  So sit back, relax and press play to dive into all of the pretty.  You’re going to love every last minute… believe you me.

From Reel Love Films… Madel and Derick are from South Africa and are incredibly well travelled, but I think it has to be said that Fregate was something special. It’s a tiny private island in the Indian Ocean with almost unbelievable beaches; there are no cars, just golf buggies. Dotted around the island are the beautiful villas where guests stay, complete with their own butler and private pool. But the thing that made this place so special was the unique and incredible wildlife that lives with you during your stay. The place is full of bats, tortoises, centipedes, birds, flowers and the most magical sight of turtles coming to lay their eggs in the sand on the beaches… which happened just before the ceremony took place… pretty mind blowing! A special mention must also go to the staff who work there on the island looking after everyone, they are simply outstanding and made the week so very memorable for everyone.

Derick and Madel were joined by their close family and friends, who made the week so special for them. It was full of laughter, love and happiness, with some great adventures and sunsets. Madel’s good friend Riana helped plan the week and did a fantastic job styling the beach wedding, Derick and Madel welcomed Beccy and I into their lives for a week and we had the most amazing experience with them all, we wish you both all the luck and love for your future together and thank you so much for letting us be a part of your adventure.

From the Bride… We were on our America trip, June last year when I bought my dress at Nordstroms Bridal Boutique in Chicago! I had done quite a bit of research online and loved their dresses. I made the appointment online, knowing the dates we would be in Chicago. They were so helpful and professional; even made a few small adjustments and then sent it along to our next stop on our travels. It was a bit nerve-wrecking, but they did not disappoint!  My beautiful sandals was given to me as a gift by my friend, Estelle who was also at the wedding. They are by Lavorazione Artiziana; Greece.

Riana was my absolute ‘wing-lady’ those five days on Fregate and I could not have coped without her! She also introduced us to Fregate Private Island as our perfect destination and made the reservations for our group. Once we had finalised the booking, I begged her to join us for the duration of the trip, knowing how professional and organised she is. We have known each other since 2006 and had become good friends. She knew how much effort I had put into every detail and I knew she would make sure that it all ran smoothly!

Elopement Inspired Photo Shoot from Lindsey Gomes Photography

Although I seriously can’t wait until the day I get to start planning my very own Big Day, there’s just something so appealing about a wedding built for two.  An elopement with just me and my honey, set against a breathtaking backdrop with a sweet bouquet of roses and nothing but the two of us and our I do’s.  A little something like this darling shoot from {Ever After} Artistry and Lindsey Gomes Photography, a perfectly perfect example of just how amazing elopements can be with stunning LoBoheme headpieces and beautiful blooms from Honeybee Flowers dotting every last second of pretty.  See it all in the full gallery.

From Lindsey Gomes Photography… This styled shoot was so much fun! From the very beginning, Jamie of {Ever After} Artistry and I, worked side by side to have our vision come to life. What Jamie created was exactly what we had envisioned and dreamed of over our coffee dates. We wanted something fun and different, and how fun would it be to just look at your fiance and say, “Let’s Just Elope!” The Harmony Chapel was the perfect venue for our dream! Our models, Jonathan and Lauren, are engaged to be married this August, so it was so fun for them to pretend, and and added plus, they have this natural and beautiful chemistry that only those engaged have.

Kyle Wedding at the Winfield Inn from Caroline Joy Photography

This is the kind of wedding you fall in love with; the kind of drop-dead gorgeous nuptials that scream pretty from every last moment.  It’s also the story of an adorable bride and groom creating their dream day with the help of an uber-fabulous team of vendors.  I’m talking Bouquets of AustinSweetish Hill Bakery, Wedding Paper Divas (and more) coming together to turn their vision into a reality that you simply won’t be able to get enough of.  See it all captured beautifully by Caroline Joy in the full gallery right here, right now.

From the Bride… Everyone always says their wedding day is one of the best days of there lives. I know now it’s true. I will never forget seeing Jeremie for the first time when walking down the aisle.I knew at that moment I was truly marrying my best friend and that I would be spending the rest of my life with the most kind-hearted and loving person. To make the moment even more special, Jeremie’s Uncle Ramon married us. His words were so touching and heartfelt I don’t think there was a dry eye. The ceremony was perfect.

The overall wedding vision was to be vintage with a modern twist. Being an interior designer I have long since dreamed about what my wedding would be. I truly believe the wedding was a great balance of who Jeremie and I are together. More importantly we worked together to create things that are now in our home. Each detail we worked on together. Whether it was our wedding invitations, or dessert bar or the decor, we made decisions together as a team. He supported my crazy vision and I willing accepted his opinions. On top of everything falling exactly in to place it could not have been a more beautiful day, a true God send.

Most importantly though, this day was about two families coming together with love and support for the ones they love. Seeing all our family and friends together in harmony could not have made my heart more full of joy! I will truly never forget seeing everyone, being silly in the photo booth and enjoying the company of the ones we could not live without.

What’s next for us? We plan to settle down and enjoy where life takes us. Following closely behind will be our pups, Oliver & Lucy.

Atlanta Wedding from Amy Arrington Photography

It’s not the first time (and it won’t be the last), but this breathtaking Atalanta affair is blowing my mind. That probably has a little something to do with the beyond beautiful images of Amy Arrington Photography, which are like one mesmerizing moment after another, all gathered in one seriously awesome gallery.  Also blowing my mind?  The gorgeous location that is the The Trolley Barn, a historic meets garden party paradise perfect for marrying.  See it all right here in the full gallery.

From the Bride… Our wedding took place at a venue nestled in Inman Park called the Trolley Barn, an old housing facility for Atlanta’s street railway line back in the late 19th century. The venue has wonderful space both outside, which is where we had our ceremony, and inside, where most of the reception took place. Our ceremony was non denominational and very personal. We wrote our own vows and letters to each other that were only then shared with one another for the first time. During the ceremony, the guests all were given a rock to make a wish for our marriage. The rocks were collected into a single vase and we now have them as a keep sake of these wishes. The Barn did not require too much decor, and we went very light on flowers. My mother made the centerpieces for each of the guests tables, which were stained glass vases that we used as candle holders. The theme of the reception was very laid back, and with the guest count being only around 100, it felt pretty intimate.

New Hampshire Wedding from Angela Klempner Photography

Lovely is a word that we tend to use a lot at SMP. It just has the nicest ring to it, and it’s a word you feel when you say. Don’t you agree? Well from this moment forward, whenever I think of the word lovely, I’ll think of this New Hampshire wedding from Angela Klempner Photography. Because it just embodies the word, and couldn’t be more charming if it tried – and you can catch every moment right here.

From Angela Klempner PhotographyJust over the Massachusetts border sits the quaint town of Rindge, New Hampshire. Elizabeth and Michael were married in a field at The Meeting School – a former boarding school turned into a working farm CSA. So much of their heart and souls were poured into this event. The maid of honor, Sarah, put together beautiful floral bouquets. Mason jars, homemade table cards, and fresh flowers in different stained glass vases adorned the tables in the decorated barn. White lights and Chinese lanterns hung from the rafters, but what really got me were the paper cranes. 1,000 paper cranes, to be exact.

When Elizabeth was a little girl she had a fascination with origami. She told her mother one day that she was determined to fold 1,000 paper cranes. Her small, ambitious hands grew tired and she was hundreds shy of her goal but slowly forgot about the idea. And then on her wedding day her mother gave her the sweetest gift a mother could give. She had spent months before the wedding folding these cranes for Elizabeth, and on June 15, 2013, she hung 1,000 paper cranes from the rafters of the barn where Elizabeth and Michael had their wedding reception. It was a truly incredible sight.

Elizabeth and Michael’s wedding was joyful, peaceful, and truly beautiful. Everyone chipped in to make the day a success. Musically inclined friends played acoustic tunes for the ceremony music. A close friend of the family baked the cake. The groom’s mother coordinated the decorations, and the bride herself made the dinner for her guests! This day is proof that friends and family can pull together to make a most spectacular wedding! North Carolina Farm Wedding from Brett & Jessica and Orangerie Events

I love this wedding. I know that’s a bold opening statement, but it’s true, and when you love someone (or some wedding) you should tell them. The bride designed a romantic affair centered around her love of all things vintage and all books, and Orangerie Events was the talented planner to put it all together. If your heart needs a little warming this morning, make sure to visit the gallery from Brett & Jessica!

From the planner… Your eyeballs might pop out of your head after you look at how amazing the details are from Amy and Thomas’ wedding on Amy’s family farm in North Carolina. Amy is a high school English teacher and knew from the day she started planning her wedding that her love for all things vintage and reading would be the foundation for her wedding design.

Even before the wedding day, Amy set the tone for her wedding with her stationery. Custom “Bingo” card Save the Dates were sent to guests. For the invitations, Amy and Thomas decided to design them to look like vintage library cards. Guests were in for a visual treat from the moment they arrived to the family farm on the wedding day. The ceremony site was created using vintage church pews adorned with hanging greenery and handmade pillows. As a backdrop for the altar, the bride created a backdrop using pages from vintage books. A welcome table was topped with an antique scrapbook for the guest book and custom programs. Guests were given cones made from sheet music and filled with lavender to toss onto the couple as they exited as husband and wife.

The bride looked stunning while carrying a bouquet designed with a dark color palette and wrapped with a black and white stripped ribbon and adorn with an antique heart-shaped locket. Thomas wore a boutonniere wrapped with sheet music. Even the podium used by the ceremony readers and officiant was handmade by the bride’s father.

Moving onto the cocktail hour, guests enjoyed chocolate dipped waffle cones and appetizers on the property’s dock overlooking the pond. The waitstaff fit the part by wearing bowties and suspenders and using antique serving trays. A custom seating chart was hanging from a post to direct the guests to their seat for the dinner portion of the reception. As guests moved onto the reception, one long table set for 75 people awaited them. Each place setting featured an antique fork place card holder notating the seating assignments. The tables were decorated using ivory table runners, antique books, floral arrangements, vintage salt and pepper shakers, porcelain dog figurines and vintage bells.

Not wanting to leave out the younger attendants, the bride’s mother’s dining room table was turned into the kid’s table. Each kid had a personalized meal in a kraft box at their seat and as decor, cookie jars filled with animal crackers, popcorn and oreos was used. In lieu of a traditional wedding cake, friends and family brought various desserts which were put on display on an antique table. A china cabinet was used to display the cake plates and china.

Following dinner, guests moved onto another area on the farm for lawn games including a Rook table, corn hole and croquette. The bride’s father built a fire pit complete with a vintage mantle and church pews were used to create a relaxing seating area complete with custom decor pieces and a basket with blankets and shawls. Guests were encouraged to take their pictures for the couple’s scrapbook by standing in front of the elementary school chalkboard. The couple left their reception to a shower of confetti.

Every detail of this wedding was meticulously planned and I am so beyond grateful to have been able to coordinate such an incredible day for a loving couple who are beautiful both on the outside and inside.
