We go a little crazy around here when we come across a great DIY project and this one has us chomping at the bit to share all of the juicy details. Eden of Sugar and Charm Events put together a floral how-to for TWO different centerpiece ideas that are not only uber cute and stylish but also incredibly easy and budget friendly. The best part is you can use just one of these ideas for a chic, modern look or mix them up for more of an eclectic vibe. You really can't go wrong with these babies.

Supplies: old cans / decorative paper / adhesive

1) Start collecting cans, all different sizes, tell your friends and family to save them for you as well.

2) Find some beautiful, inspiring paper that fits your event motif. This is where you can really shape the look and feel of your centerpiece just by getting creative with the paper. If you're really feeling brave, you could even use cute, stylish fabric.

3) Cover the can with the paper, measure and cut the bottom to fit the can perfectly.

4) Attach the paper to the can buy using a hot glue, glue or tape! If the paper doesn't fit all the way around, use two sheets or get creative and use buttons, lace or whatever else you want to cover the gap!

5) Fill the can with simple, elegant flowers and let the vase do the talking! I used fifteen white roses to fill this vase. They were all cut at an angle and placed in the can. So simple, but very charming and easy to do!

Supplies: wooden box / plastic bag / floral foam

1) Purchase a wooden box. We found ours at Ikea, style Bjuron, for a whopping $5.99.

2) Start collecting plastic bags from stores. Each box will use one plastic bag. Make sure there are no holes in the plastic bag. Then, place the bottom inside the box and cut down the sides.

3) Cut a piece of floral foam so it will fit nicely in the in the box. Before you place the foam inside the box, you'll need to soak it in water until it becomes heavy and filled. Then place it inside the bag and into the box.

4) Be creative and use any flowers your heart desires. In this centerpiece, green and white Chinese Spider Mums were used, as well as green filler. Once you have your flowers, just start playing! Floral foam is so fun because it allows you to organize your flowers just the way you want. Press the stems of the flowers into to the foam and the flowers will feed from the water the foam soaked up. By using floral foam you will have more control where you place each individual flower.

So cute, right? And completely affordable. Another great bonus is you can use the old plastic bag and floral foam trick for just about anything. Hats, shoes, tea tins…just stick a little foam and a plastic bag in there and voila, you have an adorable centerpiece on your hands! Thanks so much to Sugar and Charm Events for this fun project!
