Her Father Wasn’t Able to Walk Her Down the Aisle, But See How He Gave Her Away

Grab your tissues, because this wedding from Lynette Boyle Photography will make you cry happy tears. When her father was unable to walk down the aisle, Anna walked down on the arm of her godfather, but just before she got to her groom, she was handed to her dad. And just wait until you read what happened later! Head to The Vault for every heartwarming moment and insane amounts of pretty!

From Lynette BoyleAnna and Keith, who met online (score another point for Match.com!), chose Lake Tahoe as their wedding destination after spending many meaningful trips there together…including Keith’s marriage proposal! It is also a visually stunning place to host a wedding. The couple chose to get ready at the Hyatt Lake Tahoe in one of the cottage suites, so we had access to the lawn and the lake for photographs of the bridal party, and the bride and groom. Anna chose a long pale grey gown by Jenny Yoo for her maids to wear, while the bride herself wore an absolutely stunning beaded lace gown by Maggie Sottero. Her something borrowed was the beautiful cathedral length veil that one of her bridesmaids had worn at her own wedding. The guys donned traditional black Vera Wang tuxes and black bow ties, and were really that finishing touch to a classically gorgeous bridal party with the Tahoe scenery in the distance.

There were so many beautiful moments throughout their wedding day that stand out in my mind. Anna’s father was unable to walk her down the aisle, so Anna’s godfather walked her down and handed her to her father, who then handed her to Keith. Anna’s godfather also danced with her for the father daughter dance, and half-way through, they surprised her and everyone else, when Anna’s godfather handed her to her father to finish the dance. Everyone was crying at this point, including myself! It was so emotional and so wonderful to see how much that moment meant, and to be there to witness it. Most importantly, it was a joy to see how loved Anna and Keith are by their family and friends. To catch that momentary glimpse on my couples faces, as they take in everything, is one of those rare privileges of being a wedding photographer. I remember looking at these two on the altar during their ceremony, seated and holding hands, facing all their guests, and I thought, “that’s definitely the best seat in the house.”

From A Bud & BeyondAfter my first conversation with Anna about how she envisioned her day, it was clear all the visual details were very important to her. She was thinking about how she would be remembering her day through her photographs. I worked closely with her to design a lush bridal bouquet and bridesmaid bouquets that would complement the feminine and romantic dresses. They included white, blush, and medium pink tones to add an important visual contrast against the neutral dress tones that shows beautifully in the photos. Flowing greenery and ribbons gave the bouquets movement. For her reception, the Chateau has wonderful beamed ceilings and a warm, natural feel. We brought in taupe linens and napkins, silver chargers and mercury glass votives. Light, cross backed wooden chairs finished the look. Our centerpieces were created in a ceramic urn that allowed us to create lush, movement filled centerpieces with peony, garden roses, hellebore, and spirea.

From Melina Wallisch PhotographyNathan is a Top Gun fighter pilot, as in Tom Cruise but, according to his best man, much better looking, way more skilled, and taller! Courtney is a talented Interior Designer from Fresno, California, who just happens to be smoking hot! Due to Nathan’s fighter pilot duties, the madly in love pair were kept far distances apart from each other. There was a small window of time over the Holidays where he was able to visit, so Courtney planned their wedding on the one weekend in December where they could be together! She would have never envisioned a wedding in the middle of December, but soon became very excited about the idea of a Winter Wonderland destination wedding in Lake Tahoe. She pulled it off seamlessly. Fresh snow had fallen the evening before, creating a blanket of white around the mountainside Chateau in Incline Village, Nevada. Snowflakes, lush white florals and glittery baubles sparkled throughout the design, set against flowy winter white drapery. Tree branches adorned with twinkle lights provided ambient uplighting. Frosty silver bridesmaids dresses looked beautiful next to Courtney’s long sleeve, open back, lace wedding gown and cathedral veil. Courtney’s snow white Ugg boots were perfect for keeping her toes warm throughout traveling to the venue and taking pictures in the snow, saving her rhinestone peep-toe Badgley Mischka heels for the wedding. A classic military sword routine welcomed the newlyweds to their grand entrance. The reception was a spirited dance party indoors (Courtney plays a mean air guitar!) coupled with cigars and smore’s around the fire pit on the veranda. The celebration continued on into the night, and ended with a farewell brunch the following day.
