A Winter Garden Party Wedding in a Transformed Private Estate Setting

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Maggie’s favorite color is green, so we leaned into deep greens as the main color. We accented with lots of white as well as soft/deep floral tones in shades of pink, purple, yellow, and hints of blue.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Maggie and Peter had been to a lot of weddings, but really wanted to be married somewhere no one else had been before. After touring multiple locations, they settled on utilizing an empty lot of land owned by Maggie’s Aunt and Uncle that we transformed into a magical, winter garden party. We put up a sailcloth tent, and the vibe was elegant and romantic, but still approachable, with flowers as far as the eye could see.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Peter and Maggie met at work in 2018 and started dating in 2019. Peter proposed in August 2023 at New Smyrna Beach, a location incredibly special to Maggie because she grew up going there as a child. Peter asked if Maggie wanted to go for a morning walk (which she never says no to!), and he asked her to marry him while they were alone, just the two of them.

Guests enjoyed butler-passed appetizers and a large grazing table/charcuterie board for cocktail hour. We had a 360-degree bar that remained open the entire night, stocked with all the bride and groom’s favorites. Because it was so cold, we also offered hot chocolate.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The decor was elegant but with a touch of light-hearted whimsy, mostly in the custom details. The floral style was very organic, with greenery “growing up” the tent poles and around the centerpieces, behind the band, and throughout the entire tent. We leaned into more organic furniture and chairs, but really made a punch with beautiful floral napkins, custom menus, acrylic place cards, and green water goblets.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Maggie and Peter love their dog, Floyd, and wanted to incorporate him into the wedding. We used the watercolor rendering of Floyd created by K.Kelley Designs on the cocktail napkins, drink stirrers, match boxes, and invitations.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

The custom details. It all started with the incredible invitation design – this really set us on our path. The patterns, florals, and colors created for the invitation were then carried out throughout the wedding weekend. We customized the bars at the reception, coordinated the menus and place cards with the table scape, and worked with an amazing local company to create a stunning welcome sign, seating chart, and station signage. Everything just flowed together beautifully.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]The flowers.  To say the flowers were gorgeous, stunning, beautiful – it’s just not enough.  The florists truly created a magical, organic garden that guests lived in at the wedding.  The Head Tables featured giant chandeliers that were adorned with greenery and flowers.  These “spoke” to the floral runners, which then spilled off the tables and onto the floor, with giant centerpieces at the base.  Tent poles were warmed with florals high above, and smaller gardens at the bottom.  The backdrop for the band was a 16’ trellis wall adorned with unbelievable flowers.  There was a floral photo op for guests to use throughout the night. [/field]

An Opulent Five-Day Wedding Experience at a Private Marbella Estate

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Ivory, sage, soft gold, and subtle infusions of green. The palette, envisioned by the bride, Alice, echoed the natural hues of the Mediterranean coast and the quiet elegance of a summer garden. Designer Sira Antequera translated that vision into a composition of clean simplicity and tactile richness — where softness met light, and every tone brought a sense of calm, clarity, and timeless charm to the celebration.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Years after celebrating the weddings of Peter’s siblings, this gathering brought the family together once again — a new chapter, held with the same trust, the same hands, and the same sense of meaning. The entire celebration was conceived and directed by Sira Antequera as a tribute to Mediterranean harmony — a refined and soulful vision of beauty without formality. Held at the groom’s family beachfront villa, the space was transformed into a luminous, living canvas. Natural light, sea breeze, and emotional presence became part of the architecture. From custom chill-out lounges in ivory velvet to imperial chandeliers suspended beneath a white marquee, every element was placed with intention — composing a rhythm of intimacy, flow, and emotional resonance. The result was a wedding that felt both elevated and alive — elegant yet effortless, grand yet deeply human.

Alice wore a stunning halter-neck gown from The White Gallery Boutique (Ireland) — a modern silhouette with timeless elegance. Her shoes were by Aquazzura, and she carried a bouquet of white peonies by Floreale. As a playful and personal touch, she carried a mini clutch by Cult Gaia just for her lipstick — a nod to beauty in the smallest details. Her jewellery and wedding bands were from Cartier. Groom’s Attire Peter’s style was timeless with a touch of relaxed modernity — effortlessly in tune with each chapter of the celebration. For the wedding day, he wore a classic black tuxedo, cut to perfection, exuding elegance and quiet confidence. It was a look that balanced formality with ease, in complete harmony with the aesthetic of the ceremony and the villa setting. At the welcome dinner, he chose a more laid-back yet sophisticated ensemble: a light summer suit with subtle stripes, paired with a crisp white shirt and minimalist white sneakers — a look that spoke of Mediterranean charm and understated style. Across all four days, his wardrobe reflected not only refinement, but presence — a sense of occasion, dressed with authenticity.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

The bridesmaids wear soft, contemporary silhouettes in a refined neutral palette, designed to feel effortless, feminine, and timeless. Their dresses move between one-shoulder and clean, sleeveless lines, all in powdery blush and nude tones that complement the light and architecture of the space. The fabrics are fluid and matte, with a gentle drape that enhances movement without excess. Each look is coordinated but not identical: subtle variations in cut create individuality while maintaining visual harmony. The styling is deliberately understated — no heavy embellishment, no rigidity — allowing the focus to remain on elegance, comfort, and emotional presence. Together, the dresses create a sense of modern romanticism: soft, luminous, and perfectly aligned with a celebration that values feeling over formality.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

The four-day celebration featured a thoughtful journey through Andalusian cuisine and curated experiences. • Thursday – Welcome Dinner at Boho Club, Marbella: A garden soirée surrounded by candlelit stairs, custom florals in soft pinks and blues, and a cocktail reception with Spanish tapas and champagne that set the tone. Alice wore a short white dress with a large back bow; Peter chose a summer suit with white sneakers • Friday – Wedding Day at the villa: Guests were welcomed with chilled Champagne upon arrival — a quiet gesture of celebration that set the rhythm for the evening. At the entrance, a biznaguero — a Málaga tradition — offered fragrant jasmine flowers to each lady, adding a delicate, sensory gesture that bridged local culture and elegance. The ceremony unfolded facing the sea, followed by a graceful cocktail hour in the garden. Dinner was served beneath a white marquee: an elevated buffet by Quilicuá, featuring live grill stations with freshly prepared lobster, prime cuts of meat, Iberian ham, vibrant salads, and artisanal sushi — an abundant tribute to Spanish gastronomy, designed for both beauty and pleasure. • Saturday – Pool Party Back at the villa, with a white-on-white setup centred around the turquoise pool, guests enjoyed refreshing cocktails by MyBar, gourmet burgers and vibrant Mexican bites by Quilicuá. The atmosphere was relaxed yet impeccably styled, with custom chill-out lounges and sunlit details. A top DJ brought energy and effortless flow to the afternoon, as the celebration transitioned seamlessly from midday lounging to golden hour dancing. • Sunday – Closing Party: Held at Playa Padre, Marbella’s iconic beach club, this final gathering was vibrant, joyful, and full of rhythm — the perfect end to a legendary four-day celebration.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]
All floral design was curated by Floreale, following a vision directed by Sira Antequera.

The main wedding décor followed a white and green palette: archways in full bloom for the ceremony, a three-metre floral arch facing the sea, submerged florals inside water-filled glass cylinders for the dessert display, and soft floral runners for the dinner tables.

Décor elements included crystal chandeliers, custom furniture, and an all-white grand piano covered in florals — creating a dreamlike garden atmosphere where nature met elegance.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

There was no traditional cake. Instead, dessert became an immersive experience: a garden of sweets suspended on transparent cylinders filled with submerged flowers. The installation was a visual and sensorial statement.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Guests were welcomed to the ceremony by a female string quartet in white and silver gowns, setting an elegant tone.

The live band So Perfect Orchestra played the first part of the night, followed by a DJ who carried the energy into the early morning. The entire garden was filled with candles — the kind of light that brings the stars down to the earth.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

At the entrance to the wedding, each guest was offered a jasmine flower by a biznaguero — a tradition from Málaga that filled the air with scent and meaning.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]The dessert was not served — it was revealed. In the centre of the dinner marquee, a glass garden of sweets appeared: cylindrical pedestals filled with submerged white blooms, rising like luminous columns from the ground. Atop each one, an array of delicate desserts shimmered under candlelight, turning the centre of the tent into an edible installation. It was sculptural, poetic, and entirely unforgettable — a signature moment that merged design with delight.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

Dinner unfolded as a live buffet experience, where guests were invited to wander and indulge at their own rhythm. Surrounding the marquee, open cooking stations served freshly grilled lobsters, wild fish, and premium meats, all carved and prepared to order. Alongside them: Spanish jamón ibérico, vibrant salads, roasted vegetables, and artisanal garnishes — a culinary landscape that honoured Spanish tradition while offering elevated freedom. It wasn’t just dinner. It was a Mediterranean feast in motion.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]

Finding my wedding gown was a long process. I knew I wanted something I hadn’t seen on other brides, something that felt like me, suited to the Tuscan setting, and had a special detail that made it feel unique. I tried on almost 200 dresses in New Orleans and Chicago over several months. Nothing felt right until I came across the Iris gown by Steven Khalil during a late-night scroll. A shop in Chicago happened to carry the sample, and I booked an appointment right away. The moment I put it on, I cried. I knew immediately that it was the gown I wanted to marry Jack in; I simply could not imagine myself in anything else. I didn’t expect to have that reaction after such a long shopping process, but the gown was everything I had been searching for. The layered skirt reminded me of flower petals, and it moved beautifully throughout the day. I felt confident, elegant, and, most importantly, completely like myself. I never wanted to take it off.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

The bridal party palette was inspired by the tones we used throughout our custom design elements, like our hand-painted crest, watercolor floral print, and printed paper goods. I didn’t want the dresses to match those designs exactly, but I wanted them to feel like they belonged in the same story. We leaned into soft, romantic tones like dusty mauves, pale yellows, and understated florals that evoked the feeling of an elegant garden party. Each person chose a look that reflected their style within that range. My sibling and Person of Honor, Percy, had a suit custom-made and dyed to a beautiful, lively pink to coordinate with the group. When everyone stood side by side, it felt intentional yet effortless. The colors melted into the Tuscan landscape most beautifully.

Trattoria da Burde is the interior restaurant of the wedding venue. It is a very popular restaurant in Florence that decided to open a second place inside the La Palagina hotel. All the food was home-made and Tuscan style, as well as the wine, directly produced by the venue’s winery.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The floral decoration was provided by the lovely Serena Tosi, owner of Infinito Amore flower shop, who studied the design with our wedding planner, Luisa Colombini. We wanted the wedding to feel personal in every detail. Our custom crest was originally hand-painted and then digitized so it could be woven throughout the weekend, from dinner napkins to menus, signage, and stationery. Many other elements, like the ceremony fans and bar signage, were also painted by hand. Our florist even calligraphed the mirrored welcome sign herself, using a style her grandmother taught her as a child. She told me that on the morning of the wedding, and it made the piece feel even more meaningful. The goal was to create something curated but intimate, where every design moment felt considered but never overdone. One of our favorite details was the “From Tuscany With Love” hats we included in the welcome bags. Guests wore them throughout the week, and we’ve loved seeing them pop up in photos even after the wedding. We wanted to give people something they would actually use and want to keep. The hats were fun, wearable, and didn’t feel overly branded or like typical wedding merch. They ended up being the perfect keepsake.

An Aspen-Meets-Duck Lodge Wedding Rooted in Southern Tradition and Mountain Elegance

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Rich greens, warm browns, soft taupe, creamy white, and subtle hints of peach

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Lauren envisioned a celebration that blended refined mountain elegance with meaningful Southern tradition, describing the aesthetic as “Aspen meets duck lodge.” Hosted on her family’s Arkansas property, the design centered around organic textures, lush greenery, and warm autumn tones layered beneath sailcloth tents glowing with oversized lanterns and abundant florals. Thoughtful duck motifs were woven throughout the day as a nod to Lauren’s family heritage, creating a setting that felt personal, inviting, and deeply rooted in story. The overall vision was timeless and elevated, yet warm and welcoming – a true reflection of Lauren and Zach’s joyful spirits and love for gathering their people together.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Zach originally planned to surprise Lauren with a proposal outdoors at her family’s duck lodge, the same place where they would later host their wedding celebration. But when an unexpected thunderstorm brought heavy rain and flooding, plans quickly shifted. Instead, Zach popped the question inside the lodge’s cozy living room beside the fireplace, creating an intimate moment that caught Lauren completely off guard. The surprise only deepened when close friends and family emerged to celebrate alongside them (while their photographer quietly captured the proposal from under the dining room table). Just ten months later, Lauren and Zach returned to the same meaningful setting to host their wedding reception, making their engagement story a beautiful full-circle moment.

The removable sleeves added a romantic statement for the ceremony while giving Lauren the freedom to switch to a sleeker look for the reception, making her dress as versatile as it was beautiful.[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

Lauren encouraged her bridesmaids to choose dresses they truly loved, all within a warm brown palette. Each woman arrived in a floor-length gown uniquely her own, from soft satins to subtle sequins and varied textures, creating a beautifully layered look that felt both intentional and personal. The mix of silhouettes and materials added depth and movement while perfectly complementing the rich, earthy tones of the overall design.

Highlights included a beef tenderloin carving station paired with locally sourced rice and butter-poached asparagus, alongside comfort-forward favorites like fried chicken tenders, gouda mac and cheese, Southern green beans with bacon, and burgers served with parmesan truffle fries. Additional stations featured smoked chicken quesadillas, carnitas street tacos, and classic Arkansas cheese dip, offering something for everyone and encouraging guests to mingle all evening long.

To complement the menu, the Southern Slippery served an array of wine, beer, and spirits, along with a special margarita bar created in honor of Lauren’s mom as a surprise. Guests enjoyed classic, strawberry, and blackberry margaritas, a joyful touch that added an extra layer of celebration to an already incredible night. As a late-night surprise, guests were treated to mini pizzas as they danced the night away![/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Lush, organic floral installations set the tone for Lauren and Zach’s celebration, with abundant greenery and warm brown tones layered throughout the sailcloth tents and ceremony details. Guests were welcomed through a stunning floral archway, while towering arrangements and soft textural blooms created an elevated yet natural atmosphere beneath glowing lanterns. Thoughtful duck motifs appeared in subtle, playful ways across paper goods, bar details, and décor, honoring Lauren’s family heritage without overwhelming the refined design. A Joyful, Design-Forward Spring Wedding with Playful Details at Bonnet Island Estate

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Wildflowers : pink, purple, green, dusty blue, yellow, orange, black and white[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

This wedding was the perfect blend of playful color and elevated elegance. The bride wanted the day to feel joyful, personal, and full of intentional details, and the design delivered on every level. A fresh take on spring garden romance, the palette leaned into vibrant pastels: poppy pinks, butter yellow, soft lilac, and tangerine, anchored with refined whites and lush greenery. From the overflowing florals to the Polaroid cake topper and a floral collar for their beloved Newfoundland, Appa, every element struck a balance between whimsical and refined. The vision was to create a day that felt editorial and design-forward, but still warm and approachable — a true reflection of the couple’s personalities and the love they share (four-legged family members included)

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Ryan and I met while teaching in South Carolina and had been dating for 3 years when he proposed. He popped the question on December 12, 2023, during what I assumed was just a quick walk to look at Christmas lights. I was literally still in the shower when he barged in and said we had to leave immediately. My hair was soaking wet and shoved into a winter hat, and I had no idea why he was suddenly in such a rush (spoiler: it wasn’t about the lights)! We ended up at our town’s arboretum, where he got down on one knee. A second later, his friend jumped out of the bushes with a camera — turns out he’d been hiding there the whole time to capture the moment. It all made sense in that instant. It all came together in the funniest, most unexpected way. Totally us!

The bridesmaids wore a mix of gowns in a soft pastel wildflower palette that brought such joy and vibrancy to the day. Each dress was thoughtfully chosen to complement the wearer and reflect the playful color story: shades of lilac, pistachio, dusty blue, coral pink, apricot, candy pink, and marigold. Designers included Birdy Grey, Azazie, and Mac Duggal, creating a beautifully cohesive look without being too matchy. The food and drink experience was designed to reflect the couple’s coastal venue and personal tastes, with a heavy focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients and signature touches that made guests feel celebrated from the moment they arrived. Cocktail hour featured a raw bar filled with oysters from Barnegat Bay and an iced shrimp tower that was as elegant as it was refreshing. Passed hors d’oeuvres included playful heart-shaped watermelon radishes and shrimp-topped polenta rounds—small bites with big flavor and beautiful presentation. For drinks, the couple created a custom menu of signature cocktails that showcased their personalities—with a twist. “Hers” was Jess’s Cosmopolitan, a classic mix of vodka, Cointreau, cranberry, and lime juice. “His” was Ryan’s Transfusion, featuring vodka, grape juice, and ginger ale. But the crowd favorite was “Ours,” a margarita named after their beloved Newfoundland pup—Appa’s Margarita—made with tequila, lime juice, triple sec, and agave. Complete with a mini portrait of Appa on the drink menu, it was a sweet, lighthearted detail that guests absolutely loved.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The floral and decor design was inspired by the untamed beauty of wildflowers — vibrant, whimsical, and full of movement. From the moment guests arrived, every space was bursting with color and texture, designed to feel like a fresh spring meadow in full bloom. The palette played with soft pastels and bold pops of coral, tangerine, butter yellow, and lilac, brought to life through romantic blooms like ranunculus, delphinium, sweet pea, and garden roses.
Designed by Twisted Willow Flowers, the ceremony arch and mantelpiece installation framed the stone fireplace with an explosion of florals that felt organic and artfully overgrown, as if they had bloomed there naturally. Inside the reception, lush low arrangements lined the long tables in playful, overflowing compositions. Napkins in the softest seafoam were topped with sprigs of rosemary — a subtle nod to nature and simplicity — while the sweetheart table was wrapped in a garden of blooms that cascaded down to the floor.
One of the most charming details was the seating chart: a custom display titled “Our Best Buds,” where vintage bud vases overflowed with florals and each guest found their table nestled among the blooms — a playful and personal touch that set the tone for the celebration ahead.
It was a perfect blend of refined and free-spirited. Every floral moment felt joyful, abundant, and alive — as if the celebration itself was blooming right alongside the couple.
[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The wedding cake was a beautiful reflection of the day’s design—elegant, colorful, and full of personality. The three-tiered cake was iced in smooth, minimalist white buttercream and adorned with fresh flowers that echoed the floral design seen throughout the day. Delicate ranunculus, sweet peas, chamomile, and pastel blooms cascaded across the tiers, tying the cake perfectly into the wildflower-inspired aesthetic. But the sweetest touch of all? The cake topper. During their portrait session, Jess and Ryan snapped Polaroids of each other in front of their ceremony floral installation—and those candid captures became the cake topper. It was such a personal and creative moment, bringing a spontaneous memory full circle into the reception. It felt like the perfect blend of heartfelt, fun, and totally them.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”][/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]One of the most heart-melting moments of the day came before the ceremony, when the couple’s 120-pound Newfoundland, Appa, joined them for portraits. Just over a year old and full of personality, Appa made his debut with the bridesmaids’ bouquets playfully arranged around his face — creating the most unforgettable floral “mane.” He posed proudly under the ceremony arch and in front of the blooming mantel, adding a joyful, personal touch to the afternoon. Though he didn’t stay for the ceremony itself, his cameo was a highlight of the day (and the gallery)![/field]

A Spring Wedding Inspired by Lived-In Luxury and Nancy Meyers Interiors

Springtime colors! Soft blues, lilacs, organic greens, pinks, and pops of butter yellow.

The design was deeply rooted in interior design and textiles, inspired by a Nancy Meyers–style “lived-in luxury” aesthetic. Once the initial mood board was created, it never shifted. The vision was curated yet warm, refined yet inviting, with layers that felt collected rather than styled. Every design decision echoed the feeling of stepping into a home. Down to the dance floor that was inspired by Emerald Green marble tiling.

From the very beginning, the bride fell in love with the Monique Lhuillier Lily of the Valley gown — a choice that ultimately set the tone for the entire celebration. The dress established an elegant garden party feel that was truly elevated and intentional, never themed. Rather than leaning too childlike, her look remained refined and artful, with fashion leading the design narrative. The gown itself felt like a true work of art.

A nod to the city showed up in the menu through mini lobster rolls served during cocktail hour, while the bar menu reflected the groom’s family traditions. With his father being an avid wine enthusiast, large-format bottles were thoughtfully incorporated and specialty poured by the food and beverage team. Guests were rarely without a glass in hand, and the signature blueberry mojito added a playful, personal touch, subtly referencing the couple’s dog, Blue, while offering a “something blue” moment within the overall color palette.[/field]

The floral design made an immediate statement, anchored by a sweeping ceremony arch that set the tone for the celebration. Fashion-forward bridesmaids each wore a distinct color within the palette, creating a look that felt more like a curated runway moment than a traditional lineup. Their bouquets coordinated with their individual dresses, allowing the florals to play into the fashion.

While the celebration honored many meaningful traditions, the most unforgettable moment of the night came from the band’s full Elton John set. She was a true fan of him, and the tribute featured costume changes from each band member and a high-energy medley of his most iconic songs, transforming the dance floor into a joyful, immersive experience that guests will long remember.

An Elevated Powerscourt Wedding with Feminine Details and a Dramatic Ceremony

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

An elevated aesthetic with feminine touches. The Church Ceremony and Powerscourt Hotel were a very luxurious and dramatic backdrop, so their design had to work for these settings

Dessert was Bailey’s cheesecake with brown bread ice cream

The ballroom at Powerscourt Hotel is very opulent and luxurious. For the decor, we wanted to enhance this and make it more personal to the couple. We opted for champagne satin tablecloths, gold foil on the stationery, candelabras, and statement florals in blush pink, white, and creams. For flowers,s we kept it very modern with minimal greenery to create a clean look. The top table was a real wow factor with trailing florals.

A Black-Tie Martha’s Vineyard Wedding with Vibrant Florals and Artful Personal Details

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

White, green, yellow, pink, blue, purple

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Drawing from classic elements that captured the essence of Martha’s Vineyard, Rachel and Federico hosted a luxe black-tie wedding with an upscale garden aesthetic. While the celebration embraced formality, color found its way in through vibrant floral design. Artistic motifs personalized the day, including the Argentine sun to honor Federico’s heritage, a crew boat symbolizing their time on the rowing team, a sketch of their puppy Penelope, and a rendering of the couple at their favorite restaurant.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Federico and Rachel met during their freshman year of college on an orientation trip and became friends from the start. By October, Federico asked Rachel to be his girlfriend. The two dated throughout college, sharing classes and even the title of captain of the men’s and women’s rowing teams. After graduation, they moved to New York City, where they began their careers and worked side by side in a small one-bedroom apartment. “It only made us closer,” they wrote. In 2022, Federico proposed on a sailboat cruising around Manhattan. “It was a tie back to the story of my grandparents’ first date and so meaningful to both of us,” Rachel explained. As the waters surrounded them, Elvis’ Can’t Help Falling in Love played — a song that had marked their first date and, fittingly, became Rachel’s processional down the aisle.

Rachel floated down the aisle in her Monique Lhuillier gown. “I fell in love immediately,” she recalled of shopping for her dress. For the after-party, she changed into a lace mini dress, echoing the spirit of her ceremony look. She paired both ensembles with sentimental heirloom jewelry and diamond earrings gifted by her mother on the wedding day. She described the jewelry as follows: Something Old: a stone passed down from my mother-in-law’s side that I wore inside my dress. Something New: diamond earrings, a gift from my mom.m Something Borrowed: the diamond necklace from my aunt, Something Blue: my sapphire ring from my grandma

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

Rachel’s bridesmaids sported ivory gowns, each with their own color of bouquet for a pop of vibrance.

[/field]

Federico wore a Suit Supply tuxedo and a cream dinner jacket. His cufflinks were from his late grandfather and had his grandfather’s initials. In honor of that, Federico gifted each of his groomsmen unique cufflinks that represented their personality.

Guests had their choice of three cocktails — an old-fashioned, a spicy margarita, and a Hugo spritz. For their meal, guests dined on watermelon and feta salad, grilled filet and roasted lobster tail, and spaghetti al limone. Late-night espresso martinis, donuts, and fries kept the party going.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Placing full trust in their planners and creative team, Rachel and Federico leaned into a romantic garden vibe for their outdoor celebration, complete with parasols, waterfront views, and beautifully arranged installations of potted greenery. Inside the sailcloth tent, the open-air concept took on an elevated feel, with luxe furnishings and whimsical, colorful bouquets.

Sun-Washed Italian Abbey Wedding in Butter Yellow and Powder Blue

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

This wedding palette pairs buttery yellow and soft marigold with powder blue and airy ivory, creating a look that feels both joyful and refined. Warm golden tones bring energy and celebration, while the cool blues and crisp whites ground the design with elegance and balance. Together, the colours feel effortlessly Italian, sun-washed, romantic, and timeless without feeling overly formal.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

This day unfolded like a fashion editorial set against the timeless romance of an Italian abbey, old-world stone, golden light, and sweeping architecture, grounding every moment. The vision blended refined elegance with joyful excess: sculptural lace, sunshine-yellow bridesmaids with parasols, and an abundant tablescape that felt both artful and indulgent. Effortlessly chic yet deeply soulful, the celebration honoured heritage, beauty, and togetherness in a way that felt elevated, intentional, and unforgettable.

A Multi-Day Lisbon Wedding Blending Vibrant Sangeet Hues at Palácio Correio Mor

[section title=”The Planning”]

Chic, elegant decor that evokes the natural and historic beauty of each venue. For the Sangeet, we wanted bright colours – corals, deep indigo, bright pinks, and kelly green – bringing the Quinta Bellavista Caparica alive with vivid hues. For the Anand Karaj, to match Manita’s candy pink Sikh bridal salwar kameez, the flowers were soft pinks and whites. The symbolic ceremony at the Palacio Correio Mor was a burst of white and green baby’s breath and soft white roses. The theme carried over to the Cocktail hour, where we built a beautiful indoor bar with an olive tree in the middle of a 4-walled bar. For the Reception, I wanted millions of candles illuminating white roses, crystals, baby’s breath, and chandeliers.

Manita and her mother curated each outfit. For the Welcome event, I wanted to wear colors that would invoke the sunset over the ocean and chose a flowing pink to fiery red ombre strapless gown. I paired it with simple solitaires and a matching diamond necklace. For the Sangeet, I wanted to be glamorous but comfortable to move and dance freely with my bridesmaids for our dance performances. I chose a lavender Manish Malhotra sharara and wore my hair in a French braid to display my rose pink tikka and diamond solitaires. While the outfit was encrusted in pearls and sequins, the soft drape of the wide-legged pants and top kept me comfortable all night. For the Anand Karaj, I wanted to pay respects to my Sikh heritage and wear a traditional Punjabi suit. I chose a candy pink shade, and the dupatta was lined with kiran, or gold fringe, a traditional bridal texture. Earlier in the wedding weekend, my Uncles performed the Chura ceremony, helping me put on a set of magenta bridal bangles cleansed in milk. I completed the look with a traditional heirloom custom gold jewelry set with matching earrings, tikka, and bangles. For the Wedding Ceremony, I knew that I had to wear Sabyasachi. I am fascinated with old-world textures, colors, and prints,s and no one does it better than Sabyasachi. However, I knew I was not a “traditional bridal red” bride – I was looking for something unique that still incorporated royal colors and elements. I chose a salmon orange lehenga with intricate, heavy gold work and lined with a red velvet trim. The deep-V blouse had a modern cut to complement the traditional lehenga work, and I paired the outfit with a double dupatta and veil. I wore a beautiful gold and diamond set gifted to me by my parents from Tanishq Jewelers. For the Reception, I wanted a glamorous look that honored the history and architecture of the Palace, which was our reception venue. I wanted the look to err on the side of Baroque-era royalty, given the palatial backdrop that still incorporated a chic and elegant party vibe. I chose a Falguni Shane Peacock pale pink lehenga covered in intricate silver and gold gota work and kiran (gold fringe). I wore my hair in soft curls and accessorized with a ruby and diamond necklace and a tikka set.

I would be remiss to not mention the moment the party absolutely *exploded* – when our La Hora Loca dancers appeared, and shot off dozens of confetti canons simultaneously, the DJ cranked up the Punjabi music, and the crowd absolutely lost it. My favorite memory is Vijay and me dancing together, with my arms wrapped around my family, my bridesmaids’ arms wrapped around me, surrounded by confetti and color bombs.

Let your photographer’s work guide your decisions early. We came across Diane’s beautiful wedding photography on Instagram at the very start of our venue research, and her imagery was a major reason we chose Lisbon/Sintra for our destination wedding. Look for an aesthetic that truly aligns with what you’re hoping for, especially candid photos that bring out the very best of the subject matter, whether it’s the couple, their families, the venues, decor, stationery… When it’s the right fit, it’s breathtakingly beautiful, and it transports the viewer.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

Remain authentic to what you really care about – there can be too many priorities to balance, and maintaining your vision as the north star is the best way to ensure your dreams come to life. For decor and aesthetic inspiration, I really leaned on the venues themselves to guide the way and help bring my visions to life – working with the infrastructure available and invoking the colors and textures already present in the venue really magnified the impact of our decor choices. Finally, put that phone on do not disturb and remain as present as you can. My husband and I wrote down our favorite memories from the weekend when we left for our mini-moon to crystallize the feelings at that moment in time – highly recommend this, as it’s a great way to preserve the joy and gratitude.

When Pantone’s “Cloud” Meets Emerald Green: A Fresh Take on a Classic DC Summer Wedding

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Cloud white and emerald green, with pops of light blue and buttercup yellow

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Nicole and Will’s wedding at the Fairmont in Washington, DC, was the definition of classic elegance with a deeply personal twist. Taking place on one of the hottest days of the year in the city, their celebration somehow still felt light, joyful, and refreshing — a testament to the thoughtful design, soft color palette, and happiness that surrounded them all day long. The couple chose the Fairmont’s Colonnade Room for its natural light, openness, and classic architecture — a blank canvas that they transformed with a palette inspired by Pantone’s Color of the Year, “Cloud.” Crisp whites were paired with lush emerald green florals and soft pops of blue and yellow, creating a look that felt elegant yet effortless, even in the summer heat. The result was a Washington DC wedding that felt cool, calm, and inviting from start to finish. From the bride: “Our vision was classic, elegant, and simply us. We love rich greens, with accents of soft blue and buttercup yellow that all feel very natural and easy. Our relationship is so easy and fun, so we wanted that to show through in our design!”

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Will and I met on the first day of school at Boston College in 2015. We were fast friends and began dating Sophomore Spring! In the spring of 2024, living in Washington, DC, I had a feeling Will was going to propose. I had completely convinced myself it was going to happen one Saturday in April. Will knew I was convinced, so he surprised me by being down on one knee in our apartment when I got home from work on Friday afternoon. I was shocked to say the least, Sephora box in hand, on the phone with my parents, sobbing!

The one thing I knew I wanted in a wedding gown was an A-line or ballgown shape. I have Type 1 Diabetes and wear an insulin pump, so I wanted to make sure I had enough room to secure it properly under my dress. I was also almost certain I did not want a strapless gown. I fell in love with my dress instantly. It is a high-neck, sleeveless Romona Keveza dress in ivory Shantung silk with a subtle lace detail at the waist. It is classic, elegant, and most importantly, it made me feel like myself when I put it on. I could see myself walking down to meet Will at the end of the aisle so easily. I still think about how beautiful my dress is and hope one day I have a daughter so she can wear it on her wedding day if she wants to!

We chose food and drinks that we thought everyone would enjoy. There were many different options so everyone could find something they liked! Our signature cocktail was a Hugo spritz, which was perfectly refreshing for a 100-degree DC day.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The vision for the wedding florals included lots of white and green with pops of blue, yellow, and soft orange. As an artist, I was excited by the movement that Amaranthus brought to the bouquets and centerpieces, and as a Rhode Islander, I knew I wanted Hydrangeas to be featured! We wanted everything to feel really lush and elegant.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

We were watching my parents’ wedding video a few months before our wedding, and their cake was a very classic, 90s cake with three tiers and fabulous piping. We wanted our cake to look the same as theirs! As a sculptor, I think all of the vintage piping that has resurfaced is so much fun.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]We sat down together and chose our readings based on what spoke to us the most. We were so happy to have family members read them during our ceremony. The music was very important to us; I walked down to Canon in D, and we had a string quartet perform One Hand, One Heart, the same song featured in my parents’ ceremony. Reception songs were really fun to choose! We are huge Jack Johnson fans, so our first dance song, Angel, was everything we wanted it to be and more. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

One of our favorite details that we incorporated into the wedding was my drawings and watercolors. I drew all the florals on our invitation suites and welcome sign, and incorporated two watercolors of the church as well. I also made fun cocktail napkins featuring our orange cat, Cleo!

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]The ring bearer pillow we used has been in every wedding in my family since 1909; it was incredibly special to have this piece of history included in our day. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

My one piece of wedding planning advice is to just enjoy it! At the end of the day, you’re getting married, and that’s all that matters; everything else is just extra!

A Spring Parisian-Inspired Wedding with Soft Pastels and Black-Tie Romance

[section title=”The Planning”]

The palette was a sophisticated nod to a Parisian springtime. It featured a base of soft pastels, including blush pinks, peaches, and cream, grounded by rich, garden greenery. These airy tones were complemented by the clean, classic contrast of a black-tie aesthetic.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Inspired by the Tuileries Garden in Paris, the vision was one of refined European charm meets whimsical luxury. The vibe was “Enchanted Garden,” a seamless blend of timeless elegance and modern intentionality. It felt like an intimate, lush escape transported to a grand scale.

The wedding featured a stately six-tier white cake that epitomized timeless French elegance. Each tier was intricately adorned with classic piping, accented by tiny pink sugar roses and green leaves. A Romantic Hamptons Vineyard Wedding with Burgundy Hues, Blush Florals, and Modern Whimsy

Tess and Rémy’s Hamptons wedding unfolded with romantic whimsy and modern touches. Set among the vines of Wölffer Estate Vineyard, the celebration leaned into texture and organic elegance. Details like embroidered linens, pearlescent accents, stone elements, and fruit-forward moments mirrored the vineyard setting. The overall mood felt luxurious, with every design choice rooted in a deeper meaning.

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Rémy’s culinary mentor and Executive Chef, Jeremy Blutstein, officiated the ceremony, adding another deeply personal layer to the day.[/field]

On October 20, 2023, Rémy and Tess had their first date, where his culinary career began, and in that moment, Almond became the inception of their love story. Over the next 3 years, Almond functioned as a constant reminder of their love for each other, and they knew it would be the perfect location to hold a rehearsal dinner and welcome party to welcome everyone into their weekend of love in the same way it began.

A Tuscan-Inspired Wedding with Earthy Tones and Limoncello Details

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Soft and romantic earth tones of stone, clay, terracotta, sand, moss, mulberry, key lime, sienna, sage, burnt orange, toasted almond, bourbon, and espresso.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Playful, on-trend design. Soft and romantic with earthy tones. European Tuscan vineyard and villa influences with modern romance reminiscent of a large Sunday family dinner where everyone comes together. Connie & Tom have never been the ordinary kind of love; they are the pour-another-glass, laugh-until-your-cheeks-hurt kind of love. The kind that makes room, makes memories, and somehow makes it all look effortless. From a quiet ceremony by the sea to an evening under soft, sail-draped peaks, everything about this day felt like golden hour, stretched out and full of heart. A guest appearance by American Idol’s very own Will Moseley brought the dance floor to life while guests swayed and laughed the night away. There was limoncello on ice (a twist on limoncello to play to their love of key lime pies) that was served from a custom-built cart and just enough sweetness to feel like a kid again. Everything from the design, the flavors, and the feelings was rooted in family. Two hearts, four kids, and two wagging tails seemed like they were waiting for this day, too. A full table, and a full heart; a love made of perfect pairs and just the right amount of wild. Their life began with a beautiful blend, a table set for six, and a future that felt like home.

The food was outstanding, and the service truly set the tone, with a gracious, attentive staff who elevated the entire evening.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Connie & Tom’s decor drew inspiration from their love story and their shared love for whiskey, tobacco, and bourbon. With tobacco leaves drifting overhead, lanterns casting a golden glow, velvet seating throughout, textured tablescapes, and florals spilling effortlessly across the space, the reception felt like a cozy dinner party. Guests found their seats on the “Life With You” swing wall custom-built by Backup Productions. alluding to lyrics from their favorite country song. by Kelsey Hart. Guests also left with a bottle of wine from the custom-built wine wall, because details taste better when they’re poured straight from the heart. The earthy colors of the day wrapped around guests like a long embrace, kissed with citrus and just a hint of spice and tobacco. Florals were organic and untamed in the best way, as if pulled from the Italian countryside. Each stem full of movement, softness, and story. Every detail of this wedding came with intention, including the fully custom bar built on site. Before leaving, guests took a stop at the whiskey wall to pick up a glass filled with goodies to take home, including cigars, bourbon, and whiskey stones engraved with their names!

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The cake was a four-tiered structural cake with concrete textures and sugar florals growing up around it. Green fondant shards attached to the side of the cake brought in a pop of color with the overlay.

As another layered element of design, we brought in a smoke machine to play with the tobacco that was used in the decor, and used it during the grand entrance as guests entered the tent and for the couple’s first dance.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

A Vino Veritas custom wall held custom-created wine bottles that read “Gilbert’s grapes,” a play on their new last name, Gilbert. Guests were favored with wine bottles that they carried away in custom leather pouches.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]We kicked off the weekend with a beach bonfire surrounded by about 50 of our closest friends and family, which set the tone for everything to come. It felt intimate, laid-back, and very special. One of the highlights was having American Idol 2024 runner-up Will Moseley there performing live with his guitarist—it made the night feel incredibly personal and memorable.
The night before the wedding, we hosted our rehearsal dinner in a pavilion right on the beach, which then turned into a welcome party for all of our guests who had already arrived. It was such a fun, easy transition into a bigger celebration. Will played again, and then the groom-to-be completely surprised me with a choreographed flash mob—which I did not see coming at all. It was honestly one of my favorite moments of the entire weekend.
The ceremony itself was exactly what we wanted—very intimate, with just our closest friends and family gathered on the beach in Seaside. We also included our two dogs, Bristol and Maui, who wore the cutest little beachy vests and totally stole the show. After we said our “I do’s,” we headed into the reception with the rest of our guests, which truly felt like a dream. It carried that same Italian vineyard feel with an abundance of flowers, a limoncello cart, and the most incredible food. We had a pasta station, a risotto station, and so many other delicious options from Townsend Catering—it was even better than we had imagined.
We wanted every detail to feel intimate and personal, so we included thoughtful, customized touches for our guests. For the men, we included a bourbon and cigar bar, complete with personalized engraved whiskey stones. For the women, we gifted bottles of wine with custom labels reading “Gilbert’s Grapes,” which added a fun and meaningful nod to the celebration.[/field]

A Pastel Summer Wedding Inspired by Vintage Cinema, Soft Romance, and Nostalgic Color

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Our colour palette was inspired by the season we fell in love. Soft summer pastels reflected the romance and ease of the beginning of our relationship. We wanted the colours to feel light, nostalgic, and deeply personal.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Christian’s love for cinema and vintage design paired naturally with Mila’s passion for colour and creativity. Together, they envisioned a wedding that balanced old and new. The result was a thoughtfully curated pastel dream world that felt timeless yet fresh.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

One year into dating, Christian asked Mila what her dream proposal would be, and she jokingly said, “A dramatic declaration of love, probably in front of the Eiffel Tower.” Christian recognized the truth beneath her humour. Seven years later, on their first trip to Europe, he found a quiet bridge overlooking the Eiffel Tower and asked Mila to marry him.

A Colorful Summer Wedding with Fairytale Romance at an Italian-Style Malibu Estate

Our inspiration was a colorful, romantic summer garden. We got married at an Italian-style stone estate, so we wanted pops of color to contrast the venue’s neutral tones. For the dance floor, I changed into a second Ines Di Santo look, this time a lacy silhouette that began as a long dress before I shortened it into a mini. The switch felt playful and modern, offering the perfect contrast to my first gown.

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

I let my bridesmaids choose any dress they loved from Birdy Grey, as long as it was pink or pink florals. I wanted their looks to feel like they’d stepped straight into a summer garden. As a little gift, I told them to pick whatever spoke to them from Olive & Piper or Untamed Petals, hoping they’d find something they’d wear long after the wedding. I wanted each piece to be a reminder of our friendship and of sharing such a magical day. Seeing them in dresses and accessories they truly loved made me feel so seen and surrounded by love. It was a small detail, but one that made the day feel even more personal and joyful.

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]

All of our groomsmen wore suits from Friar Tux, and our groomswomen matched the bridesmaids’ Birdy Grey dresses in blue to coordinate with the boys. It was a small detail, but it felt thoughtful and inclusive, and tied the whole wedding party together perfectly.

As big foodies who run a food-review Instagram together, we’ve always tried new flavors as part of our relationship. For the wedding, we got adventurous with appetizers like duck, lamb, and hamachi, but kept mains classic with steak, sea bass, and risotto. We then offered late-night bites like sliders, quesadillas, and fried chicken. Pausmith Group listened to what we wanted to share with our guests, and together we created the perfect menu for the evening. Our signature cocktails were personal too as we had the bride’s with tequila, ginger, lemongrass, Thai basil, and a curry salt rim, and the groom’s with a fig old-fashioned.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

We’ve always loved flowers, so we incorporated them everywhere. From our stationery and tablescape, to my wedding dress, and even to our cake and pressed flower cookie party favors. Aside from florals, we kept decor minimal so the venue’s natural beauty and sweeping views could shine.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]We both have a sweet tooth, so desserts were a must. Alongside our cake, we had a dessert table filled with Asian-inspired treats, like ube cream puffs, black sesame macarons, and matcha panna cotta. [/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

Music is a huge part of our lives. Jessica played instruments growing up, so having live music throughout the day felt essential. A string trio performed songs by Porter Robinson (one of the groom’s favorites) and Taylor Swift (one of the bride’s favorites) during the ceremony, then we switched to an electric violinist for cocktail hour. To end the night, we surprised guests with a set by Manila Killa, a DJ we’ve followed since our early days of dating! We had the best time sharing something so personal with our family and friends.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

In honor of our love for Disney, each table was named after a different fictional or fantasy world from a Disney movie. Our artist created watercolor postcards of each, on which guests found their names as part of the seating chart, and got to take home as keepsakes. Once all the postcards were taken, our seating chart wall was repurposed as the photobooth backdrop. It was a perfect two-for-one custom build!

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

It was important for our dog Eevie to be part of the day, but we wanted her to be comfortable and cared for. We hired a dedicated dog attendant to walk and feed her, but he went above and beyond and even filmed a “POV video” as she greeted and danced with guests. Our wedding party surprised us with giant cut-outs of her during the Grand Entrance, which later became photobooth props!

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]”My favorite thing about our whole wedding experience is that amidst all the chaos in the days leading up to the wedding, there was this quiet stillness between Nick and me once we’d finished our first dance and finally sat down together for dinner. It felt like time slowed down. My happiness came not just from becoming his wife, but from looking around and realizing every person we love was there celebrating with us. That included my 102-year-old grandma, who drove down from San Francisco for our big day. She even got on the dance floor later and showed off some impressive moves! It was the most beautiful mix of love, joy, and gratitude.” – Jessica [/field]

A Three-Day Puglian Wedding Celebration with Dusty Blue Hues, Asian Traditions, and Mediterranean Charm

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The wedding colors were inspired by the summer breeze – champagne gold to dusty blue, inspired by the Asian ceremony—softened by delicate pastel details.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

“The Bora Party” – a three-day destination celebration in Puglia, Italy, surrounded by close friends and family. A joyful fusion of Asian traditions and Southern Italian charm, blending cultural warmth with modern elegance. Inspired by “Her Eyes ”, a song Boris wrote for Clara when they first met — a story of two fish exploring the world together. The celebration reflected their shared passions: Clara’s creative vision and design, in collaboration with her vendors — from concept sketches of the venue to the website invitations, graphic design, and all stationery — paired with Boris’s musical direction, including his own live piano performance. Set against the white-stone architecture and olive trees of Borgo Ritella, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

Inspired by “Her Eyes 彼目”, a song Boris wrote for Clara when they first met – a story of two fish exploring the world together. A thoughtfully curated three-day experience: Day 1: Chinese tea ceremony, door games, and rehearsal dinner with family, followed by welcome drinks with all guests. Day 2: Poolside ceremony in front of a small chapel and wedding breakfast surrounded by Puglia’s rustic beauty. Day 3: Relaxed pool, pizza party, and morning yoga. A vibrant summer party that symbolized love, laughter, and the start of Clara and Boris’s new adventure together.

Cocktails: Crafted by @joebarcatering, featuring bespoke signature drinks — “Clara Picante” and “Boris Breeze” — each reflecting the couple’s personalities. Gelato Cart: A fun addition to the pool party, serving refreshing summery flavours under the Puglian sun. Light blue, deep blue, and stone tones blended into a design that was both delicate and confident. Every element integrated seamlessly with the graphic design and the stunning masseria, nestled among centuries-old olive groves. Stationery / Invitation All designed by Clara (the bride) — she led the full creative direction, including the concept, 3D models, invitations, website design, and all printed stationery, keeping the aesthetic consistent with the architecture and tone of Borgo Ritella. Instead of traditional wedding cards, the couple created a website invitation accompanied by a personal handwritten letter from Boris and Clara to each guest. Every guest received a personalized name coaster as a keepsake and a shot of local Limoncello, adding a touch of Southern Italian warmth. The wedding program was printed as a fan, thoughtfully designed to help guests stay cool under the Puglian summer sun.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The cake moment was filled with emotion and wonder. A breathtaking outfit change by the bride set the stage for a perfectly choreographed first dance—visually striking and deeply moving. The night reached its climax with a triumphant display of fireworks, an unforgettable spectacle that lit up the sky. For the cake, Clara chose a timeless millefoglie, layered with delicate Chantilly cream and fresh raspberries.[/field]

Band / Music Boris’s musical direction was central to the celebration, highlighted by his own live piano performance. All music and sound production was professionally managed by Sisto Events, who coordinated the full musical setup and equipment. The entertainment lineup featured: Piano: Boris (the Groom) & Timothy Wong (the Groomsman) performing Boris’s original song “Her Eyes 彼目” Italian Band: Past & Fasul Saxophonist: Gianmaria DJs: Francesco DJ & Alex Sisto (owner of Sisto Events) — set the tone for the evening party with an uplifting mix of Italian and international tracks.

A Timeless Las Ventanas Wedding with Neutral Hues and Whale Season Magic

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

For our wedding, we wanted a color palette that felt timeless — something that would remain beautiful in photos decades from now, no matter what trends came and went. Once we chose Las Ventanas as our venue, we knew a neutral palette for the wedding day would seamlessly complement its natural beauty rather than compete with it. Each event throughout the weekend also drew inspiration from the album covers of RÜFÜS DU SOL, a band that has been meaningful to our relationship. The welcome party reflected their Atlas album, with various shades of blue woven into the accessories and details. The rehearsal dinner embraced the darker, moodier tones of Bloom, creating an intimate, atmospheric setting. Finally, our ceremony colors echoed the Surrender album — a neutral ground meeting an expansive, cloudless blue sky — perfectly mirroring the breathtaking setting of our vows. This palette felt like an extension of who we are as a couple: grounded and understated, but always growing closer together through music, the sky, and the sea.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The overall style and atmosphere of our wedding day were filled with love and pure emotion. We chose not to do a first look, which meant the very first time we saw each other was as I walked down the aisle. At the altar, we shared our handwritten vows for the first time, not only with each other but with all of our guests. Those choices made the ceremony feel raw, genuine, and deeply moving — and judging from what our guests told us afterward, they felt it too. When reminiscing with our guests, we usually hear that every single guest, men and women alike, was crying right along with us. (My only regret: not handing out tissues beforehand!) We celebrated with about 70 of our closest friends and family, who had all traveled internationally to be there. Since this was the third day of the trip, guests from both sides had already begun to form close bonds with one another. By the time the ceremony began, it felt as though everyone was connected — united in the moment and wrapped together in the emotion of the day. It’s a memory we know our guests, and we will carry forever. Our dream was to create an experience that everyone would truly enjoy. Choosing to get married at Las Ventanas during peak whale season was no accident. The first time I visited Las Ventanas with my husband’s family, I witnessed my very first whale breaching just off the coast — an unforgettable moment that made the setting feel magical. We knew that we wanted our closest friends and family to experience that same sense of amazement. Sharing the brilliance of Los Cabos, the incredible whale migration, and the magic of Las Ventanas with the people we love most was at the heart of our dream. The fact that we also got to be married in the midst of it all felt like the most beautiful bonus.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Alex is such a romantic, and he lived up to every bit of his reputation during the proposal. We were on what I thought was a “nonchalant,” multi-destination trip for his birthday, starting with a few days at the One & Only Palmilla before heading to Montage Laguna Beach. I didn’t suspect much until friends started asking if I thought he might propose. When we arrived at our resort in Cabo, we walked into a room filled with rose petals, balloons, and a stunning bouquet with a note that read, “Welcome to paradise, my love.” My heart skipped a beat — I thought this was the moment! Alex just smiled from ear to ear, hugged me, and told me how happy he was to be there with me. It was beautiful, but I’ll admit I felt a twinge of disappointment I didn’t want to show. At our next stop in Laguna, the roses and chocolate-covered strawberries appeared again, along with his warm embrace… but still, no proposal. Finally, on the last night of the trip, as we walked to dinner, I noticed roses leading to a private back room of the restaurant. Inside were his entire family and my parents waiting to surprise me — and that’s when Alex got down on one knee. It was so special to celebrate surrounded by the people we love most, and the surprise of my parents being there made me so emotional. Later, I found out he had actually planned an extravagant outdoor proposal on the Montage property, complete with FaceTime meetings with a photographer and a mapped-out walk along the cliffs — only to have it completely rained out! In true Alex fashion, he pivoted with grace and heart. He is the sweetest man and would go to the ends of the earth for me. It was one of the most special days of my life.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]My wedding dress was by Berta. When I started shopping, I truly had no idea what I was looking for — and this was actually the very first dress I tried on. It was everything I didn’t even know I wanted: beautiful, intricate, and unique. I knew right away it was the one.

I wanted a single dress that I could wear all night, and this gown struck the perfect balance — elegant and timeless for the ceremony, yet fun and effortless for the reception. I honestly wish I could wear it every single day![/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

My bridesmaids were my mother and Alex’s mother, which felt so special. Since we were having an intimate destination wedding, I truly felt that all of the women in attendance were “bridesmaids.” To honor that, we asked every woman to wear nudes or neutrals. The palette looked absolutely stunning against the property of Las Ventanas, glowing in the Cabo sun and blending beautifully with the sandy beach at sunset. Beyond the color request, I wanted everyone — especially our moms — to feel completely comfortable and beautiful in their own styles. I let them choose their own dresses, and the result was effortless and elegant. The group photos with all of the women in those neutral tones are some of my favorites from the day — timeless, cohesive, and so full of love.

[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]

We wanted a sense of uniformity among the men in attendance. My father and Alex’s father stood as the groomsmen, and all of the men at the wedding wore classic black suits. Alex set himself apart in a black tuxedo, which made him look timeless and elevated. What made this especially meaningful was that Alex could take photos with any group of men at the wedding, and the whole picture looked seamless. The black suits and his tuxedo created a sophisticated, cohesive look that photographed beautifully.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

The food at Las Ventanas is so incredible that it’s hard to choose favorites. If one thing stood out, it was the sushi bar at our welcome dinner. Guests are still talking about it! The chefs served high-end fish as individual pieces of nigiri, each with its own unique garnish to highlight the flavor. It was not only delicious but also interactive — guests could mingle, sample, and connect over beautifully crafted sushi. It set the tone for the entire celebration: elevated, memorable, and full of shared joy.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The florals and décor throughout the entire weekend were breathtaking, but our favorite display was at the rehearsal dinner at Arbol. This venue, tucked into the back of Las Ventanas, has a darker, more sultry atmosphere — the perfect setting for our Bloom-inspired theme. Our florist brought the album cover to life in the most stunning way. The tables were adorned with tall, thin black candles paired with lush, romantic, and textural florals. Deep mauves, dusty roses, and antique pinks echoed the tones of the Bloom artwork, blending seamlessly with the restaurant’s ambiance. It was moody, romantic, and felt like stepping directly into the music that inspired us. As this night was dark and sultry, the contrast in the reception the next day was absolutely stunning. The reception florals and candles were kept in soft, white tones with transparent glassware. After being in the rich, shadowy atmosphere of the rehearsal dinner, the light colors glowing on the beach — reflecting the hues of the sunset — felt even more magical.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

We hadn’t originally planned on having a wedding cake, but decided at the last minute — and it ended up being one of the most beautiful details of the night. The cake was multi-tiered, adorned with delicate florals that perfectly echoed the reception décor. It looked as though it had been part of the design plan all along. The flavor was just as special: a light vanilla cake layered with passionfruit and banana. It was tropical, unexpected, and absolutely delicious — the perfect sweet ending to a day already overflowing with joy.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]The music for our ceremony and reception was deeply personal and carried so much meaning for us. I walked down the aisle to “Next to Me” by RÜFÜS DU SOL — a song we had listened to countless times together, always imagining the day our future would become official. Their music feels timeless, and weaving it into the ceremony made it even more emotional.

Throughout the day, we incorporated other songs from RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Surrender album, creating a soundtrack that felt like “us.” For our first dance, however, we chose something different: “Breathe” by EMBRZ — the song that was playing the very first time we said “I love you” to each other.

Our DJ was absolutely incredible and closed the night with “Innerbloom” by RÜFÜS DU SOL. All of our guests joined us in a circle on the dance floor, and it turned into this beautiful, collective outpouring of love and emotion. It’s a moment we will never forget.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

For our wedding favor, we gave each guest personalized maracas with their initials on them, placed at their reception seat. They added such a playful and memorable touch to the night — guests shook them as we made our entrance, during dinner whenever a favorite song came on (I still remember hearing them during What’s Up by 4 Non Blondes!), and of course on the dance floor. The maracas became a prop everyone loved, and guests still tell us they keep them at home as a fun reminder of the celebration.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Handwritten vows with no first look: We chose to see each other for the first time at the altar and read our own vows in front of all of our guests. It made the ceremony raw, emotional, and unforgettable — we later heard that every single guest was in tears right along with us.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

RÜFÜS DU SOL inspiration: Each event of the weekend was designed around one of their albums (Atlas, Bloom, Surrender), which brought together our love of music with the setting of Cabo and created a cohesive atmosphere throughout the celebration. Circle to “Innerbloom”: Our reception ended with everyone gathered in a circle around us as Innerbloom played. It was this unplanned, collective outpouring of love and energy — a moment our guests and we will never forget.
