An Elegant Wedding with Chinoiserie Details and Subtle Disney Touches

The couple opted to celebrate with a fusion menu to celebrate their heritage and to satisfy the taste buds of their guests. Making sure that all guests felt taken care of regarding food and beverage was high on the list, including being welcomed with an ice sculpture and display of champagne right off the bat as a welcome gesture.

Florals and more florals were the bride’s desire! From the moment you step into the venue, your eye is immediately drawn to the grand staircase filled with florals – and the florals just keep going and going! Their key motif of romantic and dusty blue chinoiserie was the perfect complement to the romantic florals that adorned every space that guests experienced, to really set the mood. Everything was custom-designed and created for this couple – from the escort display to the chinoiserie layered menus and custom, tassel place cards.

The couple had not one but two wedding cakes! The reason for the two cakes was to celebrate the bride’s aunt and uncle’s wedding anniversary, in which they happened to share the same wedding date. The couple invited this aunt and uncle to cut the cake alongside them, and needless to say, the aunt and uncle were surprised and thrilled to partake in this way!

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]A special moment of the ceremony was when one of the bridesmaids sang a song that the bride walked down the aisle to, accompanied by the bride’s brother on piano. It was such an ethereal moment in the grand rotunda of City Hall.[/field]

The couple chose to have a beautifully custom-designed escort display of mini cast iron pans for guests to find their seats. This was a play on their last name, “pan,” and was a stunning display set against one of the signature chinoiserie patterns of their day.

Guests sat down to a beautiful tablescape with a custom chinoiserie layered menu for their evening. Custom, tasseled placecards were the perfect touch of whimsy to welcome guests to dinner.

During the cocktail, a strolling live band moves throughout the space—caron, bass, vocals, keyboard, saxophone—creating a lively and festive atmosphere. They accompany guests from the cocktail to the dinner, even crossing the street à la Beatles style, continuing with strolling music during dinner and leading into a wild, energetic evening dance party.[/field]

After the ceremony, each parent takes turns giving their wishes to the couple while tossing dried plums high into the air. The bride and groom must catch them using a sheet. Legends say the more plums they catch, the more their wishes will come true! It’s harder than it looks, adding a playful challenge and lots of laughter.

An Intimate Black-Tie Wedding at Live Aqua Cancún with a High-Energy Hora Loca

Vona and Anibal, luxury wedding videographers based in Washington, D.C., celebrated their wedding with an intimate black-tie wedding at Live Aqua Resort Cancún. The day unfolded with romance and artistry, from Vona’s couture Galia Lahav gown to a floral-adorned terrace ceremony and a high-energy Hora-loca complete with robot, samba dancers, and fireworks sparkling over the ocean.

To propose, Anibal masterfully executed a lavish surprise birthday party for Vona. Confetti filled the air as he popped the question. [/field]

He completed the look with black patent-leather loafers by Paul Stuart, handcrafted in Italy, while the groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos that added depth and contrast to the wedding’s color palette.

Hors d’ourves featured salmon tartare, crab croquettes, and cheese empanadas. The dinner was designed to delight guests with authentic Mexican flavors, beginning with a vibrant first course featuring a delicate scallop salad, zesty shrimp and mango ceviche, and a creamy, chilled avocado soup. The main course options were a fragrant chicken with a cinnamon and tamarind sauce, served with mashed potatoes, and a rich beef fillet, accompanied by potato au gratin, grilled vegetables, and yuca. Dessert included a Chile Guajillo crème brûlée with crisp caramelized sugar topping. Being in Mexico, tequila wasn’t just encouraged, it was essential, so the shots kept flowing well into the night.[/field]

The intimate 50-person ceremony on the Egos terrace overlooking the ocean featured white roses, daisies, and locally sourced blooms. White and ivory lounge furniture, plush ottomans, and delicate stools created a soft, elevated setting accented with silver and gold details and glowing votives. The reception continued the refined classic aesthetic with curved dinner tables draped in floral installations of white and ivory blooms, tea tree, and green amaranth, illuminated by crystal gem chandeliers and warm bistro lighting. Gold-rimmed crystal glassware, black plate settings, floating candles, and ivory velvet beetle chairs completed the layered tablescape, balancing warmth with modern sophistication and creating an intimate, visually captivating celebration from start to finish.

The white vinyl dance floor quickly came alive during a high-energy Hora Loca, complete with a Latin DJ, robot performer, and samba dancers who kept guests dancing all night. The celebration culminated in a breathtaking fireworks display over the ocean, lighting up the sky and sealing the night as a truly unforgettable finale.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]While many couples hosting destination weddings in Mexico opt for symbolic ceremonies, it was important for Vona and Anibal to have a legal civil ceremony, requiring bloodwork and officiation by a Mexican judge.[/field]

As the wedding weekend came to a close, Hurricane John was fast approaching Mexico as a Category 3 storm. All of their guests made it home safely just before landfall, but Vona and Anibal were determined to make their way to Valladolid, a charming town about an hour inland from Cancún. Through the storm, they reached their destinations of the Convent of San Bernardino de Siena and Cenote Suytun to reflect on their union and bless their marriage.

A High-Energy Wedding Weekend Designed for Celebration at Every Turn at La Quinta Country Club

Katie and Will’s wedding was designed to be a joyful, high-energy celebration, more like an incredible party than a traditional formal affair. The overall vibe was relaxed yet elevated, with outdoor settings, bold color moments, and immersive design details that encouraged guests to celebrate together. The guest experience centered on ease and genuine togetherness, creating an atmosphere where the celebration built naturally from one moment to the next.

On the weekend of March 28th, Will and Katie were driving down the coast from Newport Beach to Laguna Beach for dinner when Will casually suggested making a quick stop at their favorite beach spot, Crystal Cove, to catch the sunset. What Katie didn’t know was that Will had something much bigger planned. They got out of the car and started walking along the water when Will dropped to one knee and asked Katie to marry him. They celebrated that night with a sunset ride on a Duffy boat. The next morning, they drove to Palm Desert, where Will had secretly arranged for both of their families to be waiting to celebrate. In the sweetest full-circle moment, 18 months later, that very place became the spot where they said, “I do.”

Later in the evening, Katie changed into a one-of-a-kind party dress designed by the in-house tailor at Stanley Korshak.

Lush arrangements in coral, pink, peach, and golden tones framed the outdoor ceremony, with a statement floral arch set against a backdrop of palm trees and mountains. Guests found their seats via a colorful escort display featuring mounted tambourines, which later became part of the celebration as guests played them throughout the evening. Long dinner tables were layered with patterned linens, soft pink accents, textured glassware, wicker lanterns, and abundant floral centerpieces, creating a warm tablescape that felt intimate and festive all at once.

The wedding weekend was a reflection of both Katie and David’s personal style, love story, and the natural setting of Vignamaggio. Together with their planner, they came up with descriptions that fit the experience and aesthetic they wanted for the day,y like understated elegance, thoughtful, inviting, romantic, and my favorite — “Old World Italian Chic”. The couple also wanted a guest-forward experience. The wedding drew in the warm Tuscan terracottas, yellows, and earth tones.

The food and beverage menus were curated to the couple’s Italian favorites, including multiple courses, aperol spritzes, a gelato cart, and the traditional mille foglie Italian wedding cake.

Decor was kept simple and classic. Bird and Bumble used different variations of the Tuscan color palette for all three days of events, leaning more into the brighter/hot pink tones for the recovery brunch. All of the color tones could be found throughout the venue. The blue silk menus and mixed materials and patterns in the paper goods were by Ink and Press Co.

Held at the groom’s family beachfront villa, the space was transformed into a luminous, living canvas. Natural light, sea breeze, and emotional presence became part of the architecture. As a playful and personal touch, she carried a mini clutch by Cult Gaia just for her lipstick — a nod to beauty in the smallest details. Her jewellery and wedding bands were from Cartier. Groom’s Attire Peter’s style was timeless with a touch of relaxed modernity — effortlessly in tune with each chapter of the celebration. For the wedding day, he wore a classic black tuxedo, cut to perfection, exuding elegance and quiet confidence. It was a look that balanced formality with ease, in complete harmony with the aesthetic of the ceremony and the villa setting. At the welcome dinner, he chose a more laid-back yet sophisticated ensemble: a light summer suit with subtle stripes, paired with a crisp white shirt and minimalist white sneakers — a look that spoke of Mediterranean charm and understated style. Alice wore a short white dress with a large back bow; Peter chose a summer suit with white sneakers • Friday – Wedding Day at the villa: Guests were welcomed with chilled Champagne upon arrival — a quiet gesture of celebration that set the rhythm for the evening. At the entrance, a biznaguero — a Málaga tradition — offered fragrant jasmine flowers to each lady, adding a delicate, sensory gesture that bridged local culture and elegance. The ceremony unfolded facing the sea, followed by a graceful cocktail hour in the garden. Dinner was served beneath a white marquee: an elevated buffet by Quilicuá, featuring live grill stations with freshly prepared lobster, prime cuts of meat, Iberian ham, vibrant salads, and artisanal sushi — an abundant tribute to Spanish gastronomy, designed for both beauty and pleasure. • Saturday – Pool Party Back at the villa, with a white-on-white setup centred around the turquoise pool, guests enjoyed refreshing cocktails by MyBar, gourmet burgers and vibrant Mexican bites by Quilicuá. The atmosphere was relaxed yet impeccably styled, with custom chill-out lounges and sunlit details. A top DJ brought energy and effortless flow to the afternoon, as the celebration transitioned seamlessly from midday lounging to golden hour dancing. • Sunday – Closing Party: Held at Playa Padre, Marbella’s iconic beach club, this final gathering was vibrant, joyful, and full of rhythm — the perfect end to a legendary four-day celebration.

The main wedding décor followed a white and green palette: archways in full bloom for the ceremony, a three-metre floral arch facing the sea, submerged florals inside water-filled glass cylinders for the dessert display, and soft floral runners for the dinner tables.

Décor elements included crystal chandeliers, custom furniture, and an all-white grand piano covered in florals — creating a dreamlike garden atmosphere where nature met elegance.[/field]

There was no traditional cake. Instead, dessert became an immersive experience: a garden of sweets suspended on transparent cylinders filled with submerged flowers. The installation was a visual and sensorial statement.

It was sculptural, poetic, and entirely unforgettable — a signature moment that merged design with delight.[/field]

Dinner unfolded as a live buffet experience, where guests were invited to wander and indulge at their own rhythm. Surrounding the marquee, open cooking stations served freshly grilled lobsters, wild fish, and premium meats, all carved and prepared to order. Alongside them: Spanish jamón ibérico, vibrant salads, roasted vegetables, and artisanal garnishes — a culinary landscape that honoured Spanish tradition while offering elevated freedom. It wasn’t just dinner. It was a Mediterranean feast in motion.

Finding my wedding gown was a long process. I knew I wanted something I hadn’t seen on other brides, something that felt like me, suited to the Tuscan setting, and had a special detail that made it feel unique. I tried on almost 200 dresses in New Orleans and Chicago over several months. Nothing felt right until I came across the Iris gown by Steven Khalil during a late-night scroll. A shop in Chicago happened to carry the sample, and I booked an appointment right away. The moment I put it on, I cried. I knew immediately that it was the gown I wanted to marry Jack in; I simply could not imagine myself in anything else. I didn’t expect to have that reaction after such a long shopping process, but the gown was everything I had been searching for. The layered skirt reminded me of flower petals, and it moved beautifully throughout the day. I felt confident, elegant, and, most importantly, completely like myself. I never wanted to take it off.

The bridal party palette was inspired by the tones we used throughout our custom design elements, like our hand-painted crest, watercolor floral print, and printed paper goods. I didn’t want the dresses to match those designs exactly, but I wanted them to feel like they belonged in the same story. We leaned into soft, romantic tones like dusty mauves, pale yellows, and understated florals that evoked the feeling of an elegant garden party. Each person chose a look that reflected their style within that range. My sibling and Person of Honor, Percy, had a suit custom-made and dyed to a beautiful, lively pink to coordinate with the group. When everyone stood side by side, it felt intentional yet effortless. The colors melted into the Tuscan landscape most beautifully.

Trattoria da Burde is the interior restaurant of the wedding venue. It is a very popular restaurant in Florence that decided to open a second place inside the La Palagina hotel. All the food was home-made and Tuscan style, as well as the wine, directly produced by the venue’s winery.

The floral decoration was provided by the lovely Serena Tosi, owner of Infinito Amore flower shop, who studied the design with our wedding planner, Luisa Colombini. We wanted the wedding to feel personal in every detail. Our custom crest was originally hand-painted and then digitized so it could be woven throughout the weekend, from dinner napkins to menus, signage, and stationery. Many other elements, like the ceremony fans and bar signage, were also painted by hand. Our florist even calligraphed the mirrored welcome sign herself, using a style her grandmother taught her as a child. She told me that on the morning of the wedding, and it made the piece feel even more meaningful. The goal was to create something curated but intimate, where every design moment felt considered but never overdone. One of our favorite details was the “From Tuscany With Love” hats we included in the welcome bags. Guests wore them throughout the week, and we’ve loved seeing them pop up in photos even after the wedding. We wanted to give people something they would actually use and want to keep. The hats were fun, wearable, and didn’t feel overly branded or like typical wedding merch. They ended up being the perfect keepsake.

Thoughtful duck motifs were woven throughout the day as a nod to Lauren’s family heritage, creating a setting that felt personal, inviting, and deeply rooted in story. The overall vision was timeless and elevated, yet warm and welcoming – a true reflection of Lauren and Zach’s joyful spirits and love for gathering their people together.

Zach originally planned to surprise Lauren with a proposal outdoors at her family’s duck lodge, the same place where they would later host their wedding celebration. But when an unexpected thunderstorm brought heavy rain and flooding, plans quickly shifted. Instead, Zach popped the question inside the lodge’s cozy living room beside the fireplace, creating an intimate moment that caught Lauren completely off guard. The surprise only deepened when close friends and family emerged to celebrate alongside them (while their photographer quietly captured the proposal from under the dining room table). Just ten months later, Lauren and Zach returned to the same meaningful setting to host their wedding reception, making their engagement story a beautiful full-circle moment.

To complement the menu, the Southern Slippery served an array of wine, beer, and spirits, along with a special margarita bar created in honor of Lauren’s mom as a surprise. Guests enjoyed classic, strawberry, and blackberry margaritas, a joyful touch that added an extra layer of celebration to an already incredible night. As a late-night surprise, guests were treated to mini pizzas as they danced the night away![/field]

The vision was to create a day that felt editorial and design-forward, but still warm and approachable — a true reflection of the couple’s personalities and the love they share (four-legged family members included)

Ryan and I met while teaching in South Carolina and had been dating for 3 years when he proposed. He popped the question on December 12, 2023, during what I assumed was just a quick walk to look at Christmas lights. I was literally still in the shower when he barged in and said we had to leave immediately. My hair was soaking wet and shoved into a winter hat, and I had no idea why he was suddenly in such a rush (spoiler: it wasn’t about the lights)! We ended up at our town’s arboretum, where he got down on one knee. A second later, his friend jumped out of the bushes with a camera — turns out he’d been hiding there the whole time to capture the moment. It all made sense in that instant. It all came together in the funniest, most unexpected way. Totally us!

The food and drink experience was designed to reflect the couple’s coastal venue and personal tastes, with a heavy focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients and signature touches that made guests feel celebrated from the moment they arrived. Cocktail hour featured a raw bar filled with oysters from Barnegat Bay and an iced shrimp tower that was as elegant as it was refreshing. Passed hors d’oeuvres included playful heart-shaped watermelon radishes and shrimp-topped polenta rounds—small bites with big flavor and beautiful presentation. For drinks, the couple created a custom menu of signature cocktails that showcased their personalities—with a twist. “Hers” was Jess’s Cosmopolitan, a classic mix of vodka, Cointreau, cranberry, and lime juice. “His” was Ryan’s Transfusion, featuring vodka, grape juice, and ginger ale. But the crowd favorite was “Ours,” a margarita named after their beloved Newfoundland pup—Appa’s Margarita—made with tequila, lime juice, triple sec, and agave. Complete with a mini portrait of Appa on the drink menu, it was a sweet, lighthearted detail that guests absolutely loved.

The palette played with soft pastels and bold pops of coral, tangerine, butter yellow, and lilac, brought to life through romantic blooms like ranunculus, delphinium, sweet pea, and garden roses.
Designed by Twisted Willow Flowers, the ceremony arch and mantelpiece installation framed the stone fireplace with an explosion of florals that felt organic and artfully overgrown, as if they had bloomed there naturally. Inside the reception, lush low arrangements lined the long tables in playful, overflowing compositions. Napkins in the softest seafoam were topped with sprigs of rosemary — a subtle nod to nature and simplicity — while the sweetheart table was wrapped in a garden of blooms that cascaded down to the floor.
One of the most charming details was the seating chart: a custom display titled “Our Best Buds,” where vintage bud vases overflowed with florals and each guest found their table nestled among the blooms — a playful and personal touch that set the tone for the celebration ahead.
It was a perfect blend of refined and free-spirited. Every floral moment felt joyful, abundant, and alive — as if the celebration itself was blooming right alongside the couple.

The wedding cake was a beautiful reflection of the day’s design—elegant, colorful, and full of personality. The three-tiered cake was iced in smooth, minimalist white buttercream and adorned with fresh flowers that echoed the floral design seen throughout the day. Delicate ranunculus, sweet peas, chamomile, and pastel blooms cascaded across the tiers, tying the cake perfectly into the wildflower-inspired aesthetic. But the sweetest touch of all? The cake topper. During their portrait session, Jess and Ryan snapped Polaroids of each other in front of their ceremony floral installation—and those candid captures became the cake topper. It was such a personal and creative moment, bringing a spontaneous memory full circle into the reception. It felt like the perfect blend of heartfelt, fun, and totally them.

The design was deeply rooted in interior design and textiles, inspired by a Nancy Meyers–style “lived-in luxury” aesthetic. Once the initial mood board was created, it never shifted. The vision was curated yet warm, refined yet inviting, with layers that felt collected rather than styled. Every design decision echoed the feeling of stepping into a home. Down to the dance floor that was inspired by Emerald Green marble tiling.

A nod to the city showed up in the menu through mini lobster rolls served during cocktail hour, while the bar menu reflected the groom’s family traditions. With his father being an avid wine enthusiast, large-format bottles were thoughtfully incorporated and specialty poured by the food and beverage team. Guests were rarely without a glass in hand, and the signature blueberry mojito added a playful, personal touch, subtly referencing the couple’s dog, Blue, while offering a “something blue” moment within the overall color palette.[/field]

The floral design made an immediate statement, anchored by a sweeping ceremony arch that set the tone for the celebration. Fashion-forward bridesmaids each wore a distinct color within the palette, creating a look that felt more like a curated runway moment than a traditional lineup. Their bouquets coordinated with their individual dresses, allowing the florals to play into the fashion.

For the cocktail hour, there was a reception of espresso martinis and mimosas for guests paired with charcuterie boards and Irish scones! Food quality in Ireland is always exceptional, with a lot of local produce being used throughout. For the wedding meal, I there was the option of wild grilled halibut or fillet of Hereford beef. Dessert was Bailey’s cheesecake with brown bread ice cream

The ballroom at Powerscourt Hotel is very opulent and luxurious. For the decor, we wanted to enhance this and make it more personal to the couple. We opted for champagne satin tablecloths, gold foil on the stationery, candelabras, and statement florals in blush pink, white, and creams. For flowers,s we kept it very modern with minimal greenery to create a clean look. The top table was a real wow factor with trailing florals.

A Black-Tie Martha’s Vineyard Wedding with Vibrant Florals and Artful Personal Details

Drawing from classic elements that captured the essence of Martha’s Vineyard, Rachel and Federico hosted a luxe black-tie wedding with an upscale garden aesthetic. While the celebration embraced formality, color found its way in through vibrant floral design. Artistic motifs personalized the day, including the Argentine sun to honor Federico’s heritage, a crew boat symbolizing their time on the rowing team, a sketch of their puppy Penelope, and a rendering of the couple at their favorite restaurant.

Federico and Rachel met during their freshman year of college on an orientation trip and became friends from the start. By October, Federico asked Rachel to be his girlfriend. The two dated throughout college, sharing classes and even the title of captain of the men’s and women’s rowing teams. After graduation, they moved to New York City, where they began their careers and worked side by side in a small one-bedroom apartment. “It only made us closer,” they wrote. In 2022, Federico proposed on a sailboat cruising around Manhattan. “It was a tie back to the story of my grandparents’ first date and so meaningful to both of us,” Rachel explained. As the waters surrounded them, Elvis’ Can’t Help Falling in Love played — a song that had marked their first date and, fittingly, became Rachel’s processional down the aisle.

For the after-party, she changed into a lace mini dress, echoing the spirit of her ceremony look. She paired both ensembles with sentimental heirloom jewelry and diamond earrings gifted by her mother on the wedding day. She described the jewelry as follows: Something Old: a stone passed down from my mother-in-law’s side that I wore inside my dress. Something New: diamond earrings, a gift from my mom.m Something Borrowed: the diamond necklace from my aunt, Something Blue: my sapphire ring from my grandma

Placing full trust in their planners and creative team, Rachel and Federico leaned into a romantic garden vibe for their outdoor celebration, complete with parasols, waterfront views, and beautifully arranged installations of potted greenery. Inside the sailcloth tent, the open-air concept took on an elevated feel, with luxe furnishings and whimsical, colorful bouquets.

A Multi-Day Lisbon Wedding Blending Vibrant Sangeet Hues at Palácio Correio Mor

For the Sangeet, we wanted bright colours – corals, deep indigo, bright pinks, and kelly green – bringing the Quinta Bellavista Caparica alive with vivid hues. For the Anand Karaj, to match Manita’s candy pink Sikh bridal salwar kameez, the flowers were soft pinks and whites. The symbolic ceremony at the Palacio Correio Mor was a burst of white and green baby’s breath and soft white roses. The theme carried over to the Cocktail hour, where we built a beautiful indoor bar with an olive tree in the middle of a 4-walled bar. For the Reception, I wanted millions of candles illuminating white roses, crystals, baby’s breath, and chandeliers.

On the 2nd day of the trip, Vijay surprised Manita with a helicopter trip over the beautiful Napali Coast. The chopper landed near a set of private waterfalls – and as the sun broke over the clouds, Vijay proposed. Most surprising was that he was able to keep his plans completely hidden from Manita![/field]

Manita and her mother curated each outfit. For the Welcome event, I wanted to wear colors that would invoke the sunset over the ocean and chose a flowing pink to fiery red ombre strapless gown. I paired it with simple solitaires and a matching diamond necklace. For the Sangeet, I wanted to be glamorous but comfortable to move and dance freely with my bridesmaids for our dance performances. I chose a lavender Manish Malhotra sharara and wore my hair in a French braid to display my rose pink tikka and diamond solitaires. While the outfit was encrusted in pearls and sequins, the soft drape of the wide-legged pants and top kept me comfortable all night. For the Anand Karaj, I wanted to pay respects to my Sikh heritage and wear a traditional Punjabi suit. I chose a candy pink shade, and the dupatta was lined with kiran, or gold fringe, a traditional bridal texture. Earlier in the wedding weekend, my Uncles performed the Chura ceremony, helping me put on a set of magenta bridal bangles cleansed in milk. I completed the look with a traditional heirloom custom gold jewelry set with matching earrings, tikka, and bangles. For the Wedding Ceremony, I knew that I had to wear Sabyasachi. I am fascinated with old-world textures, colors, and prints,s and no one does it better than Sabyasachi. However, I knew I was not a “traditional bridal red” bride – I was looking for something unique that still incorporated royal colors and elements. I chose a salmon orange lehenga with intricate, heavy gold work and lined with a red velvet trim. The deep-V blouse had a modern cut to complement the traditional lehenga work, and I paired the outfit with a double dupatta and veil. I wore a beautiful gold and diamond set gifted to me by my parents from Tanishq Jewelers. For the Reception, I wanted a glamorous look that honored the history and architecture of the Palace, which was our reception venue. I wanted the look to err on the side of Baroque-era royalty, given the palatial backdrop that still incorporated a chic and elegant party vibe. I chose a Falguni Shane Peacock pale pink lehenga covered in intricate silver and gold gota work and kiran (gold fringe). I wore my hair in soft curls and accessorized with a ruby and diamond necklace and a tikka set.

We served traditional Punjabi food served by Passage to India at the reception. The cocktail menu ranged from Negronis, Palomas, spicy margaritas, and Old Fashioneds.

For the Welcome, we wanted to bring alive the Portuguese culture and invoke blues, turquoises, yellows, greens and whites, complemented by the sea and palm trees dotting the Forte da Cruz. For the Haldi, we complemented the traditional yellows and greens with bright paper flowers in a range of pinks that perfectly matched the architecture and lawns of Penha Longa. For the Sangeet, we wanted bright colours – corals, deep indigo, bright pinks, and kelly green – bringing the Quinta Bellavista Caparica alive with vivid hues. To invoke our Indian-American backgrounds, and because Manita loves Bollywood, we performed our first dance to a mashup between Ed Sheeran’s Collide and Chaleya from Jawan. We attended an Ed Sheeran concert together for one of our first Valentine’s Day celebrations, so the choice of song was extra meaningful! I would be remiss to not mention the moment the party absolutely *exploded* – when our La Hora Loca dancers appeared, and shot off dozens of confetti canons simultaneously, the DJ cranked up the Punjabi music, and the crowd absolutely lost it. My favorite memory is Vijay and me dancing together, with my arms wrapped around my family, my bridesmaids’ arms wrapped around me, surrounded by confetti and color bombs.

Let your photographer’s work guide your decisions early. We came across Diane’s beautiful wedding photography on Instagram at the very start of our venue research, and her imagery was a major reason we chose Lisbon/Sintra for our destination wedding. Look for an aesthetic that truly aligns with what you’re hoping for, especially candid photos that bring out the very best of the subject matter, whether it’s the couple, their families, the venues, decor, stationery… When it’s the right fit, it’s breathtakingly beautiful, and it transports the viewer.

Remain authentic to what you really care about – there can be too many priorities to balance, and maintaining your vision as the north star is the best way to ensure your dreams come to life. For decor and aesthetic inspiration, I really leaned on the venues themselves to guide the way and help bring my visions to life – working with the infrastructure available and invoking the colors and textures already present in the venue really magnified the impact of our decor choices. Finally, put that phone on do not disturb and remain as present as you can. My husband and I wrote down our favorite memories from the weekend when we left for our mini-moon to crystallize the feelings at that moment in time – highly recommend this, as it’s a great way to preserve the joy and gratitude.

When Pantone’s “Cloud” Meets Emerald Green: A Fresh Take on a Classic DC Summer Wedding

Nicole and Will’s wedding at the Fairmont in Washington, DC, was the definition of classic elegance with a deeply personal twist. Taking place on one of the hottest days of the year in the city, their celebration somehow still felt light, joyful, and refreshing — a testament to the thoughtful design, soft color palette, and happiness that surrounded them all day long. The couple chose the Fairmont’s Colonnade Room for its natural light, openness, and classic architecture — a blank canvas that they transformed with a palette inspired by Pantone’s Color of the Year, “Cloud.” Crisp whites were paired with lush emerald green florals and soft pops of blue and yellow, creating a look that felt elegant yet effortless, even in the summer heat. The result was a Washington DC wedding that felt cool, calm, and inviting from start to finish. From the bride: “Our vision was classic, elegant, and simply us. We love rich greens, with accents of soft blue and buttercup yellow that all feel very natural and easy. Our relationship is so easy and fun, so we wanted that to show through in our design!”

Will and I met on the first day of school at Boston College in 2015. We were fast friends and began dating Sophomore Spring! In the spring of 2024, living in Washington, DC, I had a feeling Will was going to propose. I had completely convinced myself it was going to happen one Saturday in April. Will knew I was convinced, so he surprised me by being down on one knee in our apartment when I got home from work on Friday afternoon. I was shocked to say the least, Sephora box in hand, on the phone with my parents, sobbing!

The one thing I knew I wanted in a wedding gown was an A-line or ballgown shape. I have Type 1 Diabetes and wear an insulin pump, so I wanted to make sure I had enough room to secure it properly under my dress. I was also almost certain I did not want a strapless gown. I fell in love with my dress instantly. It is a high-neck, sleeveless Romona Keveza dress in ivory Shantung silk with a subtle lace detail at the waist. It is classic, elegant, and most importantly, it made me feel like myself when I put it on. I could see myself walking down to meet Will at the end of the aisle so easily. I still think about how beautiful my dress is and hope one day I have a daughter so she can wear it on her wedding day if she wants to!

The vision for the wedding florals included lots of white and green with pops of blue, yellow, and soft orange. As an artist, I was excited by the movement that Amaranthus brought to the bouquets and centerpieces, and as a Rhode Islander, I knew I wanted Hydrangeas to be featured! We wanted everything to feel really lush and elegant.

We were watching my parents’ wedding video a few months before our wedding, and their cake was a very classic, 90s cake with three tiers and fabulous piping. We wanted our cake to look the same as theirs! As a sculptor, I think all of the vintage piping that has resurfaced is so much fun.

We were so happy to have family members read them during our ceremony. The music was very important to us; I walked down to Canon in D, and we had a string quartet perform One Hand, One Heart, the same song featured in my parents’ ceremony. Reception songs were really fun to choose! We are huge Jack Johnson fans, so our first dance song, Angel, was everything we wanted it to be and more. [/field]

One of our favorite details that we incorporated into the wedding was my drawings and watercolors. I drew all the florals on our invitation suites and welcome sign, and incorporated two watercolors of the church as well. I also made fun cocktail napkins featuring our orange cat, Cleo!

Over the next 3 years, Almond functioned as a constant reminder of their love for each other, and they knew it would be the perfect location to hold a rehearsal dinner and welcome party to welcome everyone into their weekend of love in the same way it began.

A Tuscan-Inspired Wedding with Earthy Tones and Limoncello Details

Playful, on-trend design. Soft and romantic with earthy tones. European Tuscan vineyard and villa influences with modern romance reminiscent of a large Sunday family dinner where everyone comes together. Connie & Tom have never been the ordinary kind of love; they are the pour-another-glass, laugh-until-your-cheeks-hurt kind of love. The kind that makes room, makes memories, and somehow makes it all look effortless. From a quiet ceremony by the sea to an evening under soft, sail-draped peaks, everything about this day felt like golden hour, stretched out and full of heart. A guest appearance by American Idol’s very own Will Moseley brought the dance floor to life while guests swayed and laughed the night away. There was limoncello on ice (a twist on limoncello to play to their love of key lime pies) that was served from a custom-built cart and just enough sweetness to feel like a kid again. Everything from the design, the flavors, and the feelings was rooted in family. Two hearts, four kids, and two wagging tails seemed like they were waiting for this day, too. A full table, and a full heart; a love made of perfect pairs and just the right amount of wild. Their life began with a beautiful blend, a table set for six, and a future that felt like home.

I wore a gown by All Who Wander that felt so me – boho, beachy, and simple, with a scarf that added the perfect finishing touch. One of the most special moments was having my two daughters walk me down the aisle—it meant everything to share that with them. The groom wore a Dior linen suit, which was classic yet relaxed enough for the setting. From the beginning, we envisioned a romantic Italian vineyard by the sea, filled with lush, warm-toned florals, and Amorology brought that vision to life more beautifully than we could have ever imagined.

Townsend Catering was a real showstopper this day, delivering an experience that was as engaging as it was delicious. Guests moved effortlessly between four distinct food stations, each offering something special: crisp, seasonal salads, a theatrical flaming pasta wheel, a lively grilling station, and a cozy risotto station that felt indulgent and comforting all at once. The food was outstanding, and the service truly set the tone, with a gracious, attentive staff who elevated the entire evening.

Connie & Tom’s decor drew inspiration from their love story and their shared love for whiskey, tobacco, and bourbon. With tobacco leaves drifting overhead, lanterns casting a golden glow, velvet seating throughout, textured tablescapes, and florals spilling effortlessly across the space, the reception felt like a cozy dinner party. Guests found their seats on the “Life With You” swing wall custom-built by Backup Productions. alluding to lyrics from their favorite country song. by Kelsey Hart. Guests also left with a bottle of wine from the custom-built wine wall, because details taste better when they’re poured straight from the heart. The earthy colors of the day wrapped around guests like a long embrace, kissed with citrus and just a hint of spice and tobacco. Florals were organic and untamed in the best way, as if pulled from the Italian countryside. Each stem full of movement, softness, and story. Every detail of this wedding came with intention, including the fully custom bar built on site. Before leaving, guests took a stop at the whiskey wall to pick up a glass filled with goodies to take home, including cigars, bourbon, and whiskey stones engraved with their names!

The cake was a four-tiered structural cake with concrete textures and sugar florals growing up around it. Green fondant shards attached to the side of the cake brought in a pop of color with the overlay.

As another layered element of design, we brought in a smoke machine to play with the tobacco that was used in the decor, and used it during the grand entrance as guests entered the tent and for the couple’s first dance.

A Vino Veritas custom wall held custom-created wine bottles that read “Gilbert’s grapes,” a play on their new last name, Gilbert. Guests were favored with wine bottles that they carried away in custom leather pouches.

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]We kicked off the weekend with a beach bonfire surrounded by about 50 of our closest friends and family, which set the tone for everything to come. It felt intimate, laid-back, and very special. One of the highlights was having American Idol 2024 runner-up Will Moseley there performing live with his guitarist—it made the night feel incredibly personal and memorable.
The night before the wedding, we hosted our rehearsal dinner in a pavilion right on the beach, which then turned into a welcome party for all of our guests who had already arrived. It was such a fun, easy transition into a bigger celebration. Will played again, and then the groom-to-be completely surprised me with a choreographed flash mob—which I did not see coming at all. It was honestly one of my favorite moments of the entire weekend.
The ceremony itself was exactly what we wanted—very intimate, with just our closest friends and family gathered on the beach in Seaside. We also included our two dogs, Bristol and Maui, who wore the cutest little beachy vests and totally stole the show. After we said our “I do’s,” we headed into the reception with the rest of our guests, which truly felt like a dream. It carried that same Italian vineyard feel with an abundance of flowers, a limoncello cart, and the most incredible food. We had a pasta station, a risotto station, and so many other delicious options from Townsend Catering—it was even better than we had imagined.
We wanted every detail to feel intimate and personal, so we included thoughtful, customized touches for our guests. For the men, we included a bourbon and cigar bar, complete with personalized engraved whiskey stones. For the women, we gifted bottles of wine with custom labels reading “Gilbert’s Grapes,” which added a fun and meaningful nod to the celebration.[/field]
