Vivian & Long’s wedding took place at two beautiful locations: Parc Broekhuizen, one of the most luxurious estates in the Netherlands, and the grand hotel Huis ter Duin for the grand banquet reception. Love and nature intertwined to create a sophisticated and elegant setting for the ceremony in Parc Broekhuizen. The panoramic view of the serene lake became the focal point of their vows, surrounded by a palette of green, soft pink, and white that blended seamlessly with the abundance of green hydrangeas of the property. As the evening unfolded, they transitioned to Hotel Huis ter Duin, welcoming extended loved ones for a lively banquet and fantastic party filled with heartfelt moments and unforgettable revelry—proof that intimacy and exuberance can share the spotlight flawlessly.

We got engaged on September 7th, 2023, in Bali. It was the second day of our trip, and Long had secretly arranged for a private driver to take us to Lahangan Sweet. He woke me up at 2:00 AM, and at first, I was completely confused — but it didn’t take long for me to realize that this might finally be the day. (I had been dropping some not-so-subtle hints that I was ready for us to take the next step) We arrived at Lahangan Sweet just before sunrise. The place was empty — just the two of us, with the breathtaking view all to ourselves. As the first light broke over the horizon, we watched the sun rise together. Then, at that perfect moment, he dropped to one knee and asked the big question. That evening, he had made a reservation at a luxury resort. Our table was set by the river, beautifully decorated with flowers. It couldn’t have been more perfect. Fun fact: Before our trip, my girlfriends made a poll in our group chat to guess whether Long would propose during the holiday. Not a single one of us — myself included — voted “yes.” I didn’t expect him to propose on that trip, because I didn’t know he had purchased an engagement ring.

I visited six bridal stores and probably tried on over 50 dresses, but the one I chose was actually one of the first few I tried. I fell in love with the subtle pleating on the bodice and the dramatic train. At first, I wasn’t sure about the fabric — I thought I wanted something heavier and more structured, like mikado. But I soon realized that the soft, flowy material suited my vision better. Since it was a midsummer wedding, the lighter fabric gave the dress a more effortless, airy look — exactly what I didn’t know I needed.

In a Chinese wedding, food is one of the most important elements—and with many of our family and friends coming from a restaurant background, the bar was set quite high. For lunch, we chose a three-course meal prepared by the Michelin-starred restaurant Voltaire, featuring a French-style menu. For dinner, we served an eight-course meal that combined Chinese and French cuisine. We felt this fusion was the perfect way to blend tradition with modernity. It was a meaningful and delicious way to reflect both our roots and our shared tastes.

Katya Hutter, floral designer: “The floral design for Vivian and Long’s wedding at one of the finest estates in the Netherlands, Parc Broekhuizen, was inspired by the estate’s idyllic surroundings, the tranquil lake behind the main building, and the abundance of soft green hydrangeas gracing the gardens. Our vision was to create floral art that blended seamlessly with the natural landscape while making an artistic statement in tune with modern fashion aesthetics. We incorporated similar soft green hydrangeas and quicksand roses among a dozen other premium blooms. Cascading strands of green amaranthus were added as playful accents, resembling delicate earrings adorning the arch. The blend of fashion, floral art, and natural harmony makes this design so special to me.”

A year before the proposal, I stumbled upon our photographer Chymo’s Instagram—and I was instantly sold. I knew right away: she had to be the one to capture our big day. I never looked further for photographers. After the proposal, I contacted Chymo to shoot our pre-wedding pictures in Lake Como. There, my feelings were only confirmed. Our pre-wedding photos turned out even more beautiful than I had ever imagined. But most importantly, working with Chymo was incredibly easy. She knows exactly what she’s doing, and her warm, friendly nature made us instantly click. Of course, we also worked with Chymo for our actual wedding day. What drew me to her art was the way she tells a story through her lens. Her work evokes such a warm, joyful, and heartfelt feeling. I love how she captures not only the emotions but also all the little details that make each moment special. When we received our wedding photos for the first time, we both shed a few tears—they were just that beautiful.

Long’s favorite detail of the day: our siblings’ speeches during lunch. Each of the speeches was so heartfelt and endearing. They made Vivian and me laugh, feel so appreciated, and even shed a few (happy) tears here and there. For me, what made it especially touching is the fact that we usually do not – actually never – really express our feelings to one another, making this moment even more meaningful.

The Columns was the heartbeat of the wedding’s vision, a venue overflowing with character and the unmistakable charm of New Orleans. Skylar and Eli wanted their guests to truly experience the city they had fallen in love with, and every decision reflected that. From the courtyard’s lush greenery to the glow of candlelight, the evening was designed to feel both elegant and full of life. The dance floor became the center of it all as Skylar, Eli, and their guests danced late into the night. The NOLA Dukes Band brought incredible energy, filling every corner of The Columns with music and joy — the perfect finale to a day overflowing with love, laughter, and New Orleans magic.

Eli proposed at Skylar’s favorite place, Lambert’s Cove on Martha’s Vineyard, the same island where their story began. The two met while volunteering for FOCUS, a Christian summer camp. During a return trip as volunteers, Eli suggested an early morning beach walk. With the sand still cool and the world quiet, he proposed with the ocean as their only witness. They spent their first day engaged, surrounded by fifty teenagers at camp, which felt perfectly fitting for the couple who met through service and community.

In true New Orleans fashion, the couple embraced the tradition of heavy appetizers and food stations, letting guests nibble between dancing and cocktails. The Columns’ catering shone, with dishes that guests are still talking about. Two signature cocktails added a personal twist: (She’s) The Bee’s Knees and (He wishes he had) The Last Word. Both gin-based, they reflected the couple’s shared love of the spirit and their playful sense of humor.

The ceremony opened with songs from FOCUS, the summer camp where the couple met, setting a deeply personal tone. Eli’s father officiated, making the moment even more meaningful. Before the ceremony, Skylar and Eli chose to exchange private vows on the upper porch of The Columns. It was an intimate, quiet moment just for them — a chance to center themselves in the joy of the day before stepping into the celebration. These deeply personal vows were then shared and allowed during the ceremony, allowing guests to listen to the couple’s devotion to one another as well as their promises for the future.

One of the most unforgettable moments of the day was the Second Line, a beloved New Orleans tradition. Directly following the ceremony, a brass band led Skylar and Eli and all their guests from The Columns down St. Charles Avenue, parading from the ceremony straight into the reception. Dancing down the streets and celebrating surrounded by music, laughter, and the people they love most perfectly captured the spirit of New Orleans and the joy of the day. Congratulations and cheers from the locals passing by were also a special touch.

Another special detail close to their hearts was the artwork created by Eli’s mother and her lifelong friend for the invitation. Together, they hand-drew The Columns and The Pagoda House, the venues for the wedding and the night-before celebration. Their illustrations beautifully captured the essence of both places, serving as a meaningful keepsake and a reflection of the deep family connection woven throughout the weekend.

From designing the invitations, custom matchboxes, ceremony programs, and signage, to ensuring every bubble machine was in its perfect place, the maid of honor went above and beyond. Madison’s attention to detail and unwavering support brought Skylar’s vision to life in the most personal way. She truly was one of a kind, standing beside the bride every step of the way.[/field]

A Maximalist Garden Wedding with a Coastal Twist on the Texas Coast

The vibe: A summer wedding on the Texas coast that embodied elegant garden sensibilities but with a coastal twist. With a maximalist approach to design and details, there was no fear of color or pattern when it came to the elements that made up the visual experience of this day. Lush florals were a non-negotiable, given the garden inspiration, and custom details tied in personal elements from the couple, as well as provided subtle nods to other aspects of the wedding weekend experience. The result was as fun-loving and stylish as this couple, but also created a meaningful experience for them and their guests.

From the bride: “Peyton had arranged for both of our families to go down to the beach for the weekend of Memorial Day. We spent all of Saturday at the pool with my nieces and nephews and then had dinner that night. After dinner, he asked me if I would go with him down the boardwalk to the beach to take sunset pictures on his film camera. Which I thought nothing of because that was a normal thing. When we were about halfway down the boardwalk, one golf cart drives by, and then a second golf cart drives by (of course Peyton didn’t know that the only way that the golf carts could get down to the beach was by the boardwalk) so he looks at me and says, “Well, This looks like the perfect place to do it!” He got down on one knee and said,” Will you Marry Me?” I’m crying and trying to get out a yes! Our friend, who’s a photographer, drove down from San Antonio and took our pictures. It was absolutely perfect! Then, Peyton’s sweet family arranged for a party afterwards, complete with champagne, cookies, es, and cake! We celebrated all night long!

I always knew that I wanted something different when it came to my dress, and that it would be a color like a solid pink or even floral. What really drew me to the Monique Lhuiller gown was Sophia Bush’s dress from her wedding in 2022. She had a custom print Monique gown, and before that,t I had never seen anything like it! I don’t think I had even met my husband yet, but I just knew that whenever I got married, I would be getting married in that dress. AllofMonique’s designs are so effortlessly elegant and in the most fun ways, with dramatic trains, puff sleeves, and bold colors and patterns. I really am obsessed with her designs as a whole.”

From the bride: “For my bridesmaids’ dresses, I really wanted them to feel beautiful and confident in their own skin. So I let them choose their own dress. I personally love the mismatch look. I think it really highlights each girl’s personality. I trusted the girls completely to pick a gorgeous dress. The right shade of blue made it a little tricky, but they were very patient with me on that.”

Given the emphasis on elevated experiences, the food and beverage selections were interactive, coastal, and sure to surprise and delight for Kenedy & Peyton’s guests! Guests started cocktail hour by enjoying passed signature beverages (Gold Rush and French 75 for Peyton and Kenedy, respectively, and a Paloma & Prickly Pear Margarita named for each of their pups!) passed appetizers, and the star of the show — the raw bar featuring several delicacies from the coast! Once guests made their way into the ballroom for dinner, they enjoyed a plated Grand Galvez salad, which is gorgeous in appearance and delicious with its Blood Orange Vinaigrette. Following the salad course, guests were served a dual-plated entree featuring a Petit Filet Mignon and a Gulf Crab Cake alongside mashed potatoes, broccolini, and baked bread accoutrements. Guests enjoyed an open bar all night, as well as chilled champagne from the oversized champagne bucket ice sculpture. Towards the end of the night, espresso martinis were flowing, and honey butter chicken biscuits were passed.

One can’t have a coastal garden-inspired wedding and not have lush, colorful, stunning florals adorning every surface of the event! In the ceremony space, we kept the scenery relatively natural and featured bentwood chairs with scalloped umbrellas (the trim tying into the awnings on the hotel!) The florals are what took the design to the next level, between the lush asymmetrical altar of meadow arrangements (both grounded and on pedestals), the floral aisle runner, and the antique urns at the back of the aisle, which made the perfect bookend to the beauty of the space. Inside at cocktail hour, we transformed two parlor rooms in the hotel; one to hold a custom bar alongside the raw bar, and the other to feature a mix of striped and floral tables, some with seating, some as highboys. Florals were sprinkled into this space as well, along with some table lamps and custom signage. And we can’t forget about the urn arrangements that greeted guests as they made their way down the hallway to these rooms. The,n when moving into the Music Hall ballroom, guests first found their seats at the gallery wall-inspired seating chart, which had custom vinyl wallpaper that was the same pattern used throughout the invitation suite. Guests then walked into the ballroom that was transformed into a coastal garden, but also maintained the existing beauty of the hotel. The head table and the stage for the DJ were our primary focal points, but as your eye continued to wander, it was met with lace Mottahedeh chargers, custom menus, butterfly die-cut place cards, custom blue bentwood chairs, and a sea of florals and patterned linens! It was a feast for the eyes, and a perfect representation of an elevated, coastal, garden soirée that felt as intentional as it was approachable.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]To tie in (literally!) with the feminine details throughout many aspects of the event design, a bow was featured on the bridal cake, which was front and center in the dessert display. The Groom has a major sweet tooth, so rather than doing a large cake, this couple opted to serve all kinds of petite desserts, which were featured on silver trays sourced from the bride’s family collection. These desserts were as delicious as they were pretty, and were wiped clean by the end of the night.[/field]

From the bride: “One memory that stands out to me about our wedding day has to be Peyton and me’s first look. This was very special to me because Peyton is my person. Just being in his presence keeps me calm. I was so nervous about the whole day until the point that I saw his face. His smile made me so happy! He also cried when he saw me,e which I didn’t think would happen, so that was pretty cute! We had the best time taking pictures and being in each other‘s presence before the ceremony.”

From the planner: “While all of the design elements were essential in creating the aesthetic experience of this event, the linen selections were especially important to translating this bride’s vision and to transforming the reception space! Color and pattern were on full display, but the key was in mixing patterns and in choosing linens that had enough depth to them. When working in a ballroom like the Music Hall at the Grand Galvez, which is stunning with it’s gold moldings, large chandeliers, and powder blue walls, but has elements, like the carpeting, that are high-contrast and potentially “busy: to the eye — you can’t be afraid to bring in color, and in deeper tones, to “cancel out” unwanted design choices and direct the eye elsewhere. That’s exactly what we did with the striped green linens from Stradley Davidson and the colorful floral linens from Nuage Designs. These choices didn’t look washed out whatsoever, so instead of your eye going down to the busy carpeting, it was drawn up to all of the beautiful tabletop decor. Linens have the power to transform a space, and to bridge the gap between the existing design style of a venue, and the design style you wish to create with your event.”

A Poetic, Stone-Hued Wedding of Quiet Luxury at Petra Theater

Ivi and Neo wanted the experience to feel intentional and soulful rather than overly decorated or conventional. A custom circular lighting installation illuminated the stone amphitheater, echoing the shape of the ancient stage and symbolizing unity, eternity, and shared light. The result was a celebration that felt cinematic and deeply personal, where every detail reflected meaning and artistry.

The proposal unfolded on a scenic drive through Malibu — the same route the couple had taken on their first date ten years earlier. It was Ivi’s birthday, and Neo had planned the day with his signature thoughtfulness. Without grand gestures, he asked her to marry him in the quiet rhythm of the California coastline, creating a full-circle moment that tied their story back to its beginnings. What made it even more special was learning later that he had called her father in Cyprus to ask for his blessing — a gesture that carried both humor and heart, and one that perfectly reflected the warmth and spirit of their families.

Every dish was crafted with local, seasonal ingredients, curated by the talented team at Dipnosofistirion, one of Greece’s most renowned culinary houses. The couple wanted their guests to feel the warmth and generosity of Greek hospitality, so dinner was served family-style, inviting everyone to share, connect, and celebrate around the table. The flavors paid homage to their heritage while embracing a modern sensibility — elegant, unpretentious, and full of heart. Each course felt like a love letter to Greece itself: vibrant, honest, and unforgettable.[/field]

The creative direction and production were led by the talented team at Fresh Events. Rather than traditional floral arrangements, Ivi and Neo chose to highlight the natural textures of Petra Theater. The raw stone, open sky, and architectural lines became the main decorative elements. Lighting designers Andreas Kourtis and George Tellos created a circular illuminated installation that transformed the venue into something ethereal and spiritual. Minimal candlelit tables and sculptural seating layouts emphasized intimacy and flow, allowing light and space to take on poetic significance.

One of the most emotional moments of the ceremony was Ivi’s walk down the aisle to Sophia Loren’s “Ti Einai Afto Pou To Lene Agapi” — a sentimental nod to her Greek roots. The ceremony felt cinematic, guided by music that was deeply personal to the couple. Caitlyn had always dreamed of being proposed to in Paris in front of the Eiffel Tower, and Quinn knew that from the very beginning. Secretly, he worked with her friends to plan everything, from choosing the photographer and videographer to designing the ring. The day of the proposal turned out to be unforgettable for an unexpected reason: it coincided with the day of the Paris Marathon. Roads were shut down all across the city, and they almost didn’t make it to the original proposal location. Quinn remained calm, and they managed to make their way to a nearby spot that, by pure luck, was empty. In the end, it became the most intimate moment they could have imagined. The Eiffel Tower stood unobstructed behind them; there were no crowds at all, and it felt as if the entire city had paused just for them. It was truly magical.

Caitlyn had always loved Galia Lahav, and when she first saw the dress online, she had a feeling it might be the one. Although she shopped around and tried on various gowns, once she tried on the Galia Lahav at Stanley Korshak, she knew it was meant for her. Wanting a dramatic veil to complement her beautiful gown, Caitlyn worked with Galia Lahav to create a custom cathedral-length veil. The gown, designed with long sleeves, was given a makeover for the reception as Caitlyn hired a stylist from Maisie-Kate to help with a quick design change. “For the ceremony, the gown featured romantic, long sleeves, but I realized that they limited how much I could move. For the reception, we removed the sleeves to give the dress a strapless silhouette, which made our first dance so much easier and felt like a fun, glamorous transformation. And later in the night, I changed into my reception dress from Oscar de la Renta, so it felt like I truly had three looks in one day!” Caitlyn shared.

It was important to her that everyone felt beautiful in their own silhouette, so she allowed each bridesmaid to choose her own style. They decided to get their dresses from Revelry, recommended by Caitlyn’s stylist at Oscar de la Renta, because it offered the perfect shade of rose along with many flattering silhouette options.[/field]

Since their wedding design was inspired by Versailles, Quinn wanted a look that was timeless yet elevated. While the groomsmen donned classic black tuxedos, they aimed for Quinn’s appearance to stand out. Drawing inspiration from Ryan Reynolds’ Met Gala outfit, which featured a white vest, they created a look that felt formal, regal, and unique without being overly flashy. Sal at Stanley Korshak in Dallas coordinated the creation of the custom vest and helped Quinn select every detail of the tuxedo. They were extremely grateful to him for bringing Quinn’s vision to life. For the groomsmen, Caitlyn and Quinn opted for a classic and cohesive look with black tuxedos from The Blk Tux. This choice created a timeless, refined appearance that paired beautifully with the overall wedding aesthetic.

Guests opting for fish enjoyed miso-marinated sea bass paired with bok choy and fingerling potatoes.

Throughout the evening, the bride and groom each had their own signature drinks. Caitlyn’s was a Kir Royale, while Quinn’s was a classic Gin and Tonic.

The flower varieties included garden roses, spray roses, orchids, snapdragons, baby’s breath, ranunculus, delphinium, stock, and peonies. While an outdoor garden wasn’t a possibility at the venue, the couple decided to bring the outdoors inside with lush floral arches, custom-built boxwood walls, stone busts, and floral terraces, transporting guests to the Versailles Gardens. For the reception, guests were ushered into the Georgian Ballroom, whose baroque architecture mimicked the opulence of the Palace of Versailles ballrooms. The mirror-topped head table featured a custom place setting of Vietri, Royal Crown Derby, and Herend china. Gold flatware and crystal stemware completed the tabletop. Tall, grand arrangements and crystal candelabras provided height and dimension throughout the Ballroom, complementing the Crystal Napoleon Chairs and neutral linens.

The ceremony music was provided by a custom ensemble that included a string quartet, a male and female vocalist, a trumpet, and a piano. The vocalists performed a special version of “The Prayer” during the couple’s unity ceremony. A 12-piece band welcomed guests into the reception and kept them on the dance floor until a DJ took over for an EDM set to conclude the evening.

Inside, each guest found a personalized cake designed with the same vintage piping as that of the bride and groom, with their seating assignment elegantly placed on top.[/field]

The couple’s invitation suite was elegant and ornate, perfectly setting the tone for the event. The envelope featured a lining adorned with a watercolor illustration of the wedding venue, offering guests a sneak peek of what was to come. The invitation itself showcased gold foil, die-cut scalloped edges, gold engraved script, a custom crest, a silk pink bow, and wax seals bearing their monogram. They also included a detailed card with gold foil die-cut edges and a floral design. The suite was filled with personalized touches that hinted at the Versailles inspiration behind the wedding.

Let’s be clear about something: packing for any trip is hard. But packing for your honeymoon? That can feel nearly impossible. How do you strike just the right balance between cute, comfy, and practical—not to mention pieces that won’t make you think “What am I wearing!?!” when you look back on your photos decades from now? What is one piece of advice that you could give brides-to-be? Take breaks in the planning process if you can! It’s overwhelming, and I found stepping away from things and coming back to them later to be a really good solution. Squeeze your butt cheeks together to stop yourself from crying too much as you read your vows. And if you’re getting married in the daytime – order the bubbles! They look so good in pictures!

What unique elements or DIY details did you include? Quite a few! We named our tables on streets that either of us has lived on. We felt that was a nicer option over numbering tables. We also had a handmade welcome poster that included the earliest photo of us together we could find. For the table assignments, we ordered vintage postcards from Los Angeles, since the wedding was a destination wedding for much of our family. It created a great photo wall for our guests and a lovely memento. The groomsmen’s ties were custom-made from a tablecloth we found on eBay. We did strawberry mimosas with Harry’s Berrys Strawberry juice as a welcome drink! We ordered bubbles for the guests to blow during the ceremony, and that came out beautifully in the pictures. I wrapped my bouquet in one of my Dad’s old ties. He has passed on, but it was a way for him to be there with me. We really found that a limited theme helped open up our creativity.

A Miami Homecoming Wedding with Mediterranean Color and Italian Sprezzatura

It was important for me to get married in Miami and in the US more broadly. Having moved to the UK as a teenager, I saw it as a wonderful excuse to bring all my favourite people—Ben and his family and our friends included—from my life across the pond back to my roots. The Surf Club, our chosen venue, has special resonance for my family. We have spent so many family gatherings and milestones there. The property is oozing with history from a yesteryear of old school Miami charm. It glistens with a true touch of Mediterranean elegance and an air of Italian sprezzatura. When our wedding planner, Annie Lee of Daughter of Design, asked us how we wanted our guests to feel, I said, “as if they had been to the most fun family dinner in their lives!” This,s to m,e meant three things: intimate company, delicious Italian food, and music at every turn. Nostalgia is a feeling I wanted to evoke.

Ben and I met at a Shabbat dinner in London preceding our mutual friends’ wedding. I was the best friend of the bride, and he was the best friend of the groom, but somehow, we had never crossed paths! In the past, before we met, he had likely left the pub just as I arrived. I’ll never forget the faces of the bride and groom across from us as they watched me and Ben ensconce ourselves deeper and deeper into conversation. At our welcome party the evening before the wedding, I wore a vintage Prada dress that I plucked at the last minute from my mother’s closet! I felt it gave me the ease to glide through the weekend with elegance, so when I got into my wedding gown, I felt confident and ready! The gown is classic, its lacework exuding quintessential romance.

As the cocktail hour ended, the shades on the iconic dinner terrace lifted, and a spotlight shone on the extraordinary Louis Amanti at the other end, beckoning guests into the dinner with Fly Me To the Moon. Guests found their seats by virtue of little numbered bags containing 5 ‘confetti’ or almonds, each representing a different wish for the couple. Bowls of pasta were served, and words were exchanged. It was a transportive experience to dine on the terrace as Amanti swooned about and crooned guests to Sinatra and Elvis. My grandmother was serenaded to her favorite song, Can’t Help Falling in Love with You. By the end of dinner, everyone was on their feet with napkins lassoing in the air. Our planners practically had to fight to get us all to move on to the next segment of the evening.

Ceremony: The ceremony was important to us, especially in the way that we wanted to honour both of our faiths. We were so grateful to have found a priest and a rabbi who would bring to the ceremony all the overlapping values of Catholicism and Judaism. One of my most vivid memories was standing under our storybook reminiscent chuppah as both the priest and rabbi draped their respective shawls over each of our shoulders. The light wind and rain were not even a deterrent; in fact, we embraced it as good luck! My Italian Catholic American roots and Ben’s Jewish English roots blended so beautifully. Worlds, cultures, and religions truly did collide. After the ceremony, Ben and I snuck off to the bungalow to share a martini—our favourite drink!— while guests congregated for drinks on the terrace, teeming with trays of Aperol spritz. Yoli Mayor, one of our epic musicians, sang some of our favorite songs from Fleetwood Mac, Cat Stevens, and Carole King. Music was an integral part of each moment. My dad is originally from Detroit, and Ben’s father had an iconic career in music in the UK, so it was important for us to work with musicians who would evoke a spirit of true artistry.

Ericka embraced her love of pink and leaned fully into every magical notion throughout the planning process. The floral design followed a romantic, blush-toned palette to complement the breathtaking views of Ravello, framed by an altar of roses and branches.

Ericka and Gary first met at the rehearsal dinner for a mutual friend’s wedding. Ericka’s initial impression of Gary was one of mild annoyance, as he had interrupted her conversation from across the table. She leaned over to the bride and asked, “Who is that?” The bride replied, “That’s actually your partner in the wedding — Gary.” By the next day, however, Gary had made quite a different impression. He was thoughtful and attentive, bringing Ericka food and drinks throughout the day, and was the only one who rushed to help when a full veggie tray spilled across her dress. Later that evening, Gary asked her for a dance, and Ericka agreed. They ended up talking well into the early morning hours, though Ericka had an early flight to catch. With no plans to stay in touch, they said goodbye. But when Ericka arrived in the hotel lobby the following morning, bags in hand, Gary was there waiting to ask for her number. “When I got home, flowers were waiting for me,” she recalled. “And the rest, as they say, is history!” For Ericka’s 28th birthday, Gary planned a trip to Paris, setting the stage for a proposal that had been months in the making. We were about a year and a half into dating when we decided that it was about time to get engaged. We consulted with Cat’s mom on ring shopping, where the three of us went together, looking and discussing our dream rings with one another. On this trip, Debra started discussing her engagement ring, which had been stolen years prior, wrestling with the idea of replacing it. On the way out, Hannah Marie asked Debra her thoughts on the two of us getting married, to which she replied, I mean,n I thought you two would be getting married after moving in with one another. And then it was time to get to planning. Both of us wanted to be proposed to, but Cat wanted to be proposed to first. Hannah Marie had coordinated a weekend in Colorado with plans foCat’sts family and all of our friends to have a weekend celebrating our love. It was only a few weeks later when we received the tragic news that Debra had been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, and plans quickly turned to a proposal in Fort Worth so that Debra could be a part of it. On the day of my proposal to Cat, I walked into Debra’s bedroom and showed her the ring. I told her I wanted to show her the ring before we left, and she told me that it was beautiful, that Cat was going to love it, and that she was excited to see it on Cat’s finger. We left for brunch with Cats sister and brother-in-law, where we “had to make a reservation,” only to end up being the only people in the restaurant. Ian had “recommended” we go to the art museum to look around. I couldn’t think straight as we showed up to the museum, but as the time came to ask the question, I said to Cat, “This is the moment, this is the moment” and finally said, “It has been the biggest privilege of my life to love you, will you marry me.” of course Cat said yes, we celebrated with some drinks before returning to Cats parents house to share our news. Cat does not love to hike. But a few weeks later, back in Colorado, she started to plant the seeds that she wanted to go on a hike after work. I was thrilled by this news, as I love to hike and would jump at any opportunity to hike with my nowfiancéee. As I’m changing into a very casual T-shirt, shorts, and bright blue socks, Cat says to me, “Do you have any other socks you can wear?” I determined the socks were the most appropriate for the occasion and wore them anyway. My grandparents met in Colorado, and while my grandmother was not interested in dating my grandfather at first, she agreed to go on a date with him because he had a sports car. Their first date was at Lookout Mountain in Golden, where my grandma swears he almost drove her off the mountain, but the rest was history. On this day, Cat and I drove up Lookout Mountain, parked at the trailhead, and started our hike. 200 feet into our hike, Cat stopped me, got on one knee, and asked me to marry her. I was completely surprised! We spent the rest of the evening getting a beer with our friend,d who took some pictures, along with another surprise when we returned home. Our other friends had set up a romantic dinner, where Cat and I got to enjoy our engagement together.

Together, they share a love for travel, live music, skiing and snowboarding, and adventures with their pup, Luke. Lake Tahoe also holds an especially deep meaning for them, as they previously visited to celebrate the life of HM’s late brother. Choosing it as their wedding destination felt like everything aligned perfectly.[/field]

I always had a crush on him, but with him attending the University of Vermont and me at the College of Charleston, the timing never quite aligned. We reconnected on my 21st birthday, which happened to be New Year’s Eve (our first kiss during the ball drop was very cute!), and started dating shortly after graduation. We moved to New York City, where we shared our first apartment, and when COVID hit, we took the opportunity to explore new places together, living in Jackson Hole, Lake Tahoe, and LA before eventually settling in Boston. All of that to say, in 2023, Will proposed in Charleston, my favorite city, followed by dinner at our favorite restaurant, Chez Nous.”

From Anne, “I loved the structure and simplicity of my wedding dress. The neckline and full skirt felt timeless but still modern. It was elegant without feeling fussy, and it moved beautifully throughout the day. The after-party dress was a joy to create (with David Josef), it went through several iterations before we landed on an ice-blue fabric adorned with a pattern of diamond embellishments. The square neckline, with my wedding day bun and my mother’s tennis necklace, felt very chic!”

Dessert was a three-tiered wedding cake from Montilio’s Bakery, intricately piped and alternating between vanilla and chocolate tuxedo flavors.

The tent was strategically placed over an elevated floor above the pool, seamlessly integrating into the home’s layout while maximizing the vistas.

A “foyer” tent served as an entryway to the reception, draped in tangerine, ivory, and olive green striped fabric, with a bold orange lantern pendant hanging above an escort card table featuring a striking green-and-white striped linen and a statement floral arrangement. The entryway created an immediate impact, transporting guests to the Marbella Club through the use of luxurious fabrics, coastal views, and curated lighting.

Inside the main tent, soft ivory draping provided an elegant, elevated finishing touch, while strategically placed trees and greenery—both behind the band stage and around the space—brought the outdoors inside. Vibrant floral arrangements punctuated every table, complementing the bright and cheerful color palette of coral, peach, pinks, greens, and touches of cream and yellow. A 360-degree bar on the patio allowed guests to enjoy refreshments from all angles, encouraging mingling and a sense of flow throughout the space.

Every detail, from the choice of linens and furniture to the placement of floral arrangements and lighting, was intentionally curated to create a cohesive design story—one that was at once nostalgic, romantic, and vividly inspired by Anne and Will’s love of the Marbella Club aesthetic.[/field]

From Anne, “The house itself was the most sentimental element of the wedding. Built in 1927, it’s been in my family for generations, and celebrating in the backyard, with guests arriving through the front door, felt deeply personal. That sense of heritage carried through in many of the details. I wore my great-great-great-grandmother’s veil from 1875, originally made in Italy, along with sapphire and diamond Edwardian earrings from my grandmother. The cake knife, made in England in 1870, was a wedding gift to my mother and has now been used across generations. We wove subtle nods to family history throughout the design as well. The orange tones used across the wedding, from florals to the printed materials, were inspired by my great-great-grandmother’s trumpet vine, which still climbs the back door of the house. The same motif appeared on our menus and schedule inserts, tying everything together. Other heirlooms found their way into the celebration in smaller, meaningful ways. Our cake topper was from my grandparents’ wedding, and for the rehearsal dinner, I wore a Priscilla of Boston dress that was my mother’s high school graduation dress from 1979. Will wore his grandfather’s salmon Brooks Brothers sport coat that Thursday evening. For the after-party, we even repurposed my great-grandmother’s demitasse cups as cigarette holders – a fun, sentimental touch. We also used my grandfather’s 1939 MG T-Type throughout the weekend, driving it to the rehearsal dinner and welcome party and leaving it out front as guests arrived.”

The following afternoon, the group gathered for a beachfront welcome party at Ulu Kitchen at The Westin Ka’anapali Resort and Spa, where guests mingled over local bites, tropical cocktails, and live music by Tad Jennings, a beloved talent from Oʻahu. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the evening set a warm, joyful tone for the celebration to come — casual, vibrant, and unmistakably Maui.

Inspiration for the design started with hydrangeas. The same white blooms from the bride’s family home that blush into pink as the season shifts, echoed perfectly in the Marble House gardens. From there, the couple layered in nods to English garden parties, French country aesthetics, Palm Beach cheekiness, chinoiserie, and even touches of grand millennial charm. The reception carried these elements into a tent filled with patterned tablecloths, rattan lampshades, and long rows of lush garden-inspired centerpieces in pinks, whites, and greens. Guests dined by candlelight under trees brought inside the tent, with fluted hurricanes, cut-crystal glassware, and playful disco balls adding sparkle to the evening.

A Festive Welcome and a Regal White Wedding at a 15th-Century Italian Villa

For the welcome dinner, we opted for a vibrant palette of colours, perfectly suited for the garden setting. I chose to incorporate red florals into my hair to complement my Italian floral dress, and we also featured plenty of red blooms in the décor. To enhance the festive atmosphere, we had singers performing tarantella and fresh pizza cooked on-site in a pizza oven. On the wedding day, we primarily utilized white tones to ensure the stunning villa in the background remained the focal point.

Our vision was to seamlessly blend the setting of the 15th-century villa with the beauty of the Italian countryside and my chosen lace, regal dress. I loved the villa’s courtyard, so we chose it for dinner, opting for round tables to encourage conversation among guests. I aimed for a fun and lively atmosphere during dinner, which led us to our amazing host, George. He was truly extraordinary, effortlessly juggling two languages. We had our first dance midway through the dinner, allowing us to transition into a joyful celebration with everyone right afterward. We also selected a separate location for the cake cutting, where we planned a surprise fireworks display.

Showcasing a unique chandelier lace sleeve, a low V-neckline, and an A-line silhouette without any heavy folds at the waist. We decided to shorten the train to make it more practical and added a bustle that created a seamless transition, giving the dress a whole new look. To complement the intricate details at the back, I chose a sheer veil that wouldn’t overpower the design. The dress was in its original colour, featuring a peach hue on the base layers that beautifully matched the villa. We also lengthened the collar to accentuate my neck, which I adored.[/field]

The food was provided by the villa, and we chose local Tuscan options, a lot of meat. For the welcome dinner, we opted for a pizza, which was a hit.

Villa Mangiacane features a stunning terracotta hue, and since dinner was set to take place in the courtyard, we opted for a minimalistic floral decor. We chose predominantly white blooms, accented with soft peach tones and a lot of greenery to enhance the outdoor setting. The floral arrangements on each table were kept relatively low to avoid overshadowing the chandeliers hanging above, which added a beautiful touch and elevated the overall ambiance. I particularly liked the stairs, so we decided to decorate the staircase with florals too, which created an incredible atmosphere around our sweetheart table. We truly felt like in a pool of flowers. The décor of the church was truly remarkable, highlighted by a large half arch at the entrance, which we also adorned in white. Our talented florist transported the flowers from the church to the villa, where we repurposed them to enhance the cake-cutting area.

Our cake followed a cherished family tradition. In my family, the cake topper is passed down from the bride’s wedding to her grandchildren’s wedding. I ordered mine online and sewed a miniature version of my dress for it. It was adorable and added a sweet, personal touch to the day.

It was played during my first trip to Italy, where Sandro first told me he loved me. It was important to me that my father walk me down the aisle, while Sandro wanted to honour Italian tradition by having his mother accompany him. A week before the wedding, during a tour of Italy with my family, we chose the music for our entrances. We chose “La Califfa” for my walk and “Gabriel’s Oboe” for Sandro. On the day, as I stood hidden near the church, hearing Sandro’s entrance moved me to tears; it was the most meaningful moment.

Sandro and I each took a piece to determine who would be the “boss” in the family. It was a special moment, and our Italian guests were fascinated by the tradition.[/field]

We also added personal touches to the stationery. The menu featured a fresco from the villa’s main entrance, with gold details that impressed those who recognized it. The menu, created by celebrated chef Eduardo Kohlmann, was a symphony of fine-dining artistry: Crab salad on brioche with lobster bisque, adorned with edible flowers Green bean velouté with Papantla vanilla, pistachio, and mascarpone Lemon-basil sorbet as a refreshing interlude and palate cleanser Miso-glazed sea bass with broccolini, edamame, and oriental risotto 72-hour slow-cooked short rib with truffle-Jabugo jus, tomato napoleon, and confit baby artichokes For dessert: a velvety chocolate cream with berry compote and vanilla ice cream, and a lemon tart topped with toasted meringue and fresh berries The wine list; curated from the private cellar of the bride’s late father, Mauricio Moreno Peralta private cellar, elevated the evening further, featuring Pouilly Fumé by Clément & Florian Berthier, Margaux Bacchus de Dauzac 2019, magnums of Drappier Champagne 2008, and jeroboams of Meursault and Gevrey-Chambertin. A sweet highlight: Pandie’s World ft. The Fly Club, a custom candy shop built and created by the famous Julie Junk. Named after Andie’s childhood nickname “Pandie” and Ryan’s Harvard final club, the setup offered nostalgic treats – panda gummies, Oregon Ducks chocolate ducks, Mexican candies, cookies, Sun Valley s’mores, Shamrock Rice Krispies, soft serve ice cream, and even a “Ryan’s Recovery Station” stocked with Dr Pepper, Gatorade, and Electrolit. The celebration overflowed with unexpected delights: a carajillo and espresso martini bar (complete with popsicles) by Carino Mio, a rooftop surprise filled with balloons and 3D glasses and light up headgear, and the unforgettable Calavera Mezcal Bar, featuring six signature cocktails and the infamous “Wheel of Death”- a daring game that challenged guests to take triple shots, taste scorpions, or endure electric shocks.

Ceiling installations and draped arrangements softened the historic arches of the Claustro de Sor Juana, blending texture, movement, and romance. Bright & Light designed a custom lighting concept that transformed the reception into a “sky full of stars”; a celestial canopy under which the couple and their guests danced until dawn. Every element was layered with intention: candlelight, sculptural blooms, and natural materials that celebrated both space and emotion.[/field]

The world-class 20-piece band Metropoli was flown in from Monterrey and set the tone with a smooth start: Sinatra, Bocelli, and Adele songs over dinner; and brought the house down with a high-energy Spanish-English pop sets, including the bride’s beloved tracks like “Pink Pony Club,” “La Vida es un Carnaval,” “Sweet Caroline,” “Kill the Lights”, and of course, “Mr. Brightside”. The groom and his mother shared a heartfelt dance to James Taylor’s “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You),” followed by the couple’s electric first dance to Love Affair’s “Everlasting Love, paying homage to one of their favorite films: Belfast, and the ggroom’sIrish heritage. In one of the most emotional moments of the night, as the bride no longer had her father for their planned dance, the entire Peralta family—Mauricio’s side—rose to surround her on the dance floor. Together, they honored him by dancing to Roy Orbison’s “You Got It”—the song he had picked out just for them. The family then invited everyone to join, officially opening the dance floor with a flood of love, unity, and celebration. As the clock struck 1 a.m., DJ BEP took over the decks, remixing songs from the disco era to Afro house of today, and the celebration continued until 5 a.m., with three more rounds of foo:; esquites, tacos de cochinita, including a full breakfast or chilaquiles served to keep the crowd fueled.

Their wedding in Mexico City was always meant to be a vibrant celebration of love, heritage, and unity. What began as a meticulously planned three-day fête evolved into something far deeper: a beautiful tribute to love, family, and legacy. On March 26th, one day before festivities were set to kick off, the father of the bride, Mauricio Moreno Peralta, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. There were over 350 guestswhot had traveled to Mexico City from over 20 countries to celebrate. What was the couple supposed to do? Andie chose to move forward with the wedding in an extraordinary act of strength, love, and resilience. Her father, Maurici,o was a proud “chilango,” a lifelong resident of Mexico City hailing from the influential Peralta family. As the couple’s eyes & ears on the ground, Mauricio had curated every detail of the weekend; infusing his trademark joy, generosity, and impeccable taste, alongside wedding planner Lucero Alvarez. He had poured his heart & soul into planning an event to honor his daughter, and Mauricio spent the preceding two months in giddy excitement with the date approaching. As hard as it would be for Andie, she knew that moving forward with the wedding was what her father would have wanted. Andie carried herself with grace and determination in the face of unimaginable heartbreak. She honored his memory not through sorrow, but through celebration. She kept his spirit alive with every step down the aisle, every laugh, and every tear. Andie turned what could have been a weekend of mourning into a powerful tribute to love and legacy. “Dancing it out,” as she so bravely vowed, became more than a gesture; it was a testament to the bond between a daughter and her father. To the values Mauricio instilled in her and to the light he brought into her life. The celebration on March 29th transcended grief. It was beautiful, moving, and unforgettable, filled with unparalleled energy and love; just as Mauricio would have wanted.

A Three-Day Amalfi Coast Celebration Layered in Color, Romance, and Italian Riviera Style

We were lucky enough to have a 3-day event and were intentional with our styling for each day, wanting to bring a new vibe to every different moment. For our Welcome event, we wanted our guests to feel like they were in an Italian market and used plenty of bright colours representative of the beautiful,l fresh produce you would find in Italy. We asked our guests to dress in all white for our Welcome, whilst Tom & I wore a soft romantic hue of blue. We thought this allowed the venue styling to really pop! For our Wedding day, we asked guests to come in colour, perfectly complementing the summer weather on the Amalfi Coast. Our Wedding Ceremony was styled in beautiful soft whites & neutrals mixed with pops of green, which paired well with the colour of Tom’s suit and the bridal party outfits. Heading into our Wedding Reception, the colour palette turned slightly moodier, where we incorporated more burgundy and deeper purple tones into the white & green tones. These colours worked wonderfully in Villa Cimbrone’s Crypt, bringing warmth to the space. We were lucky to celebrate our Wedding Recovery at One Fire Beach Club in Praiano, featuring the iconic orange daybeds set against the breathtaking blue ocean, which gave a great colour palette for our Recovery outfits and personalised Wedding stationery.

Tom popped the question while we were in the Bahamas! I thought I had every detail and day of the trip planned out perfectly – until Tom surprised me. He quietly cancelled the reservation I had made at a local restaurant and arranged a romantic private dinner for two in a stunning, secluded garden. It was intimate, breathtaking, and absolutely perfect for us!

I got married in the stunning ‘Clover’ dress by Liz Martinez. It was the first Wedding dress I ever tried on, and when I tried on others, my mind kept taking me back to the Clover dress. It was perfection, and suited the romantic ambience of Villa Cimbrone perfectly.

At first, I wanted the bridesmaids to wear dresses in different colours and textures, but it was really challenging to find four beautiful dresses from the same Summer season, at a reasonable price, that complemented each other perfectly. During my search, I discovered the stunning Aje Soundscape dress and had all the girls try it on. The colour was so chic and perfectly matched the groomsmen’s suits, fitting seamlessly with our overall wedding weekend theme of ‘Something Blue.’ It felt like it was meant to be!

Food & Drink For our Wedding Welcome Event, we envisioned a real traditional Italian market-style celebration, complete with vibrant food stalls offering various Italian bites from freshly made pasta, wood-fired pizza, fresh cut prosciutto and mortadella, plus fresh mozzarella balls. It was such a fun way to kick off the wedding weekend. For our Wedding reception dinner, we opted for a delicious tomato pasta – you really can’t go wrong with such a classic dish in Italy! All guests then dined on a beef main, followed by a divine dessert buffet by the dancefloor. For drinks on our Wedding Day, guests had the choice of 2 different spritzes available – drinks we had playfully named ourselves. This was, of course, seen in addition to the standard beer/wine/prosecco offering, but I think the spritzes were a real favourite in the Italian heat! Wedding Cake We opted for a traditional Italian millefoglie for our wedding cake, which was the perfect choice for a wedding dessert on the Amalfi coast, with pure bliss in every bite! We cut the cake by the dancefloor just after our first dance, it was perfect!

We opted for white, soft pink & green for our Ceremony, and then introduced burgundy into the colour palette for our Reception.[/field]

The cake was designed in-house by Villa Cimbrone’s chefs, and was a divine traditional Italian millefoglie – YUM!

We had to incorporate our cheeky dog Chardy into our Wedding day, given we couldn’t have her there on the weekend, sowe designed napkins for the Wedding reception and cups for the Wedding recovery with her face on them! Everyone loved it!

Wow, this is tough… so hard to narrow it down! Our favourite moment as a couple would be our first look. We were deliberating having a first look for ages, but it ended up being so special, and we’d highly recommend it to other couples considering it. It allowed us to savour such a special moment just us.
