A Timeless Las Ventanas Wedding with Neutral Hues and Whale Season Magic

For our wedding, we wanted a color palette that felt timeless — something that would remain beautiful in photos decades from now, no matter what trends came and went. Once we chose Las Ventanas as our venue, we knew a neutral palette for the wedding day would seamlessly complement its natural beauty rather than compete with it. Each event throughout the weekend also drew inspiration from the album covers of RÜFÜS DU SOL, a band that has been meaningful to our relationship. The welcome party reflected their Atlas album, with various shades of blue woven into the accessories and details. The rehearsal dinner embraced the darker, moodier tones of Bloom, creating an intimate, atmospheric setting. Finally, our ceremony colors echoed the Surrender album — a neutral ground meeting an expansive, cloudless blue sky — perfectly mirroring the breathtaking setting of our vows. This palette felt like an extension of who we are as a couple: grounded and understated, but always growing closer together through music, the sky, and the sea.

The overall style and atmosphere of our wedding day were filled with love and pure emotion. We chose not to do a first look, which meant the very first time we saw each other was as I walked down the aisle. At the altar, we shared our handwritten vows for the first time, not only with each other but with all of our guests. Those choices made the ceremony feel raw, genuine, and deeply moving — and judging from what our guests told us afterward, they felt it too. When reminiscing with our guests, we usually hear that every single guest, men and women alike, was crying right along with us. (My only regret: not handing out tissues beforehand!) We celebrated with about 70 of our closest friends and family, who had all traveled internationally to be there. Since this was the third day of the trip, guests from both sides had already begun to form close bonds with one another. By the time the ceremony began, it felt as though everyone was connected — united in the moment and wrapped together in the emotion of the day. It’s a memory we know our guests, and we will carry forever. Our dream was to create an experience that everyone would truly enjoy. Choosing to get married at Las Ventanas during peak whale season was no accident. The first time I visited Las Ventanas with my husband’s family, I witnessed my very first whale breaching just off the coast — an unforgettable moment that made the setting feel magical. We knew that we wanted our closest friends and family to experience that same sense of amazement. Sharing the brilliance of Los Cabos, the incredible whale migration, and the magic of Las Ventanas with the people we love most was at the heart of our dream. The fact that we also got to be married in the midst of it all felt like the most beautiful bonus.

Alex is such a romantic, and he lived up to every bit of his reputation during the proposal. We were on what I thought was a “nonchalant,” multi-destination trip for his birthday, starting with a few days at the One & Only Palmilla before heading to Montage Laguna Beach. I didn’t suspect much until friends started asking if I thought he might propose. When we arrived at our resort in Cabo, we walked into a room filled with rose petals, balloons, and a stunning bouquet with a note that read, “Welcome to paradise, my love.” My heart skipped a beat — I thought this was the moment! Alex just smiled from ear to ear, hugged me, and told me how happy he was to be there with me. It was beautiful, but I’ll admit I felt a twinge of disappointment I didn’t want to show. At our next stop in Laguna, the roses and chocolate-covered strawberries appeared again, along with his warm embrace… but still, no proposal. Finally, on the last night of the trip, as we walked to dinner, I noticed roses leading to a private back room of the restaurant. Inside were his entire family and my parents waiting to surprise me — and that’s when Alex got down on one knee. It was so special to celebrate surrounded by the people we love most, and the surprise of my parents being there made me so emotional. Later, I found out he had actually planned an extravagant outdoor proposal on the Montage property, complete with FaceTime meetings with a photographer and a mapped-out walk along the cliffs — only to have it completely rained out! In true Alex fashion, he pivoted with grace and heart. He is the sweetest man and would go to the ends of the earth for me. It was one of the most special days of my life.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]My wedding dress was by Berta. When I started shopping, I truly had no idea what I was looking for — and this was actually the very first dress I tried on. It was everything I didn’t even know I wanted: beautiful, intricate, and unique. I knew right away it was the one.

I wanted a single dress that I could wear all night, and this gown struck the perfect balance — elegant and timeless for the ceremony, yet fun and effortless for the reception. I honestly wish I could wear it every single day![/field]

My bridesmaids were my mother and Alex’s mother, which felt so special. Since we were having an intimate destination wedding, I truly felt that all of the women in attendance were “bridesmaids.” To honor that, we asked every woman to wear nudes or neutrals. The palette looked absolutely stunning against the property of Las Ventanas, glowing in the Cabo sun and blending beautifully with the sandy beach at sunset. Beyond the color request, I wanted everyone — especially our moms — to feel completely comfortable and beautiful in their own styles. I let them choose their own dresses, and the result was effortless and elegant. The group photos with all of the women in those neutral tones are some of my favorites from the day — timeless, cohesive, and so full of love.

We wanted a sense of uniformity among the men in attendance. My father and Alex’s father stood as the groomsmen, and all of the men at the wedding wore classic black suits. Alex set himself apart in a black tuxedo, which made him look timeless and elevated. What made this especially meaningful was that Alex could take photos with any group of men at the wedding, and the whole picture looked seamless. The black suits and his tuxedo created a sophisticated, cohesive look that photographed beautifully.

The food at Las Ventanas is so incredible that it’s hard to choose favorites. If one thing stood out, it was the sushi bar at our welcome dinner. Guests are still talking about it! The chefs served high-end fish as individual pieces of nigiri, each with its own unique garnish to highlight the flavor. It was not only delicious but also interactive — guests could mingle, sample, and connect over beautifully crafted sushi. It set the tone for the entire celebration: elevated, memorable, and full of shared joy.

The florals and décor throughout the entire weekend were breathtaking, but our favorite display was at the rehearsal dinner at Arbol. This venue, tucked into the back of Las Ventanas, has a darker, more sultry atmosphere — the perfect setting for our Bloom-inspired theme. Our florist brought the album cover to life in the most stunning way. The tables were adorned with tall, thin black candles paired with lush, romantic, and textural florals. Deep mauves, dusty roses, and antique pinks echoed the tones of the Bloom artwork, blending seamlessly with the restaurant’s ambiance. It was moody, romantic, and felt like stepping directly into the music that inspired us. As this night was dark and sultry, the contrast in the reception the next day was absolutely stunning. The reception florals and candles were kept in soft, white tones with transparent glassware. After being in the rich, shadowy atmosphere of the rehearsal dinner, the light colors glowing on the beach — reflecting the hues of the sunset — felt even more magical.

We hadn’t originally planned on having a wedding cake, but decided at the last minute — and it ended up being one of the most beautiful details of the night. The cake was multi-tiered, adorned with delicate florals that perfectly echoed the reception décor. It looked as though it had been part of the design plan all along. The flavor was just as special: a light vanilla cake layered with passionfruit and banana. It was tropical, unexpected, and absolutely delicious — the perfect sweet ending to a day already overflowing with joy.

I walked down the aisle to “Next to Me” by RÜFÜS DU SOL — a song we had listened to countless times together, always imagining the day our future would become official. Their music feels timeless, and weaving it into the ceremony made it even more emotional.

Throughout the day, we incorporated other songs from RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Surrender album, creating a soundtrack that felt like “us.” For our first dance, however, we chose something different: “Breathe” by EMBRZ — the song that was playing the very first time we said “I love you” to each other.

Our DJ was absolutely incredible and closed the night with “Innerbloom” by RÜFÜS DU SOL. All of our guests joined us in a circle on the dance floor, and it turned into this beautiful, collective outpouring of love and emotion. It’s a moment we will never forget.[/field]

For our wedding favor, we gave each guest personalized maracas with their initials on them, placed at their reception seat. They added such a playful and memorable touch to the night — guests shook them as we made our entrance, during dinner whenever a favorite song came on (I still remember hearing them during What’s Up by 4 Non Blondes!), and of course on the dance floor. The maracas became a prop everyone loved, and guests still tell us they keep them at home as a fun reminder of the celebration.

It made the ceremony raw, emotional, and unforgettable — we later heard that every single guest was in tears right along with us.[/field]

RÜFÜS DU SOL inspiration: Each event of the weekend was designed around one of their albums (Atlas, Bloom, Surrender), which brought together our love of music with the setting of Cabo and created a cohesive atmosphere throughout the celebration. Circle to “Innerbloom”: Our reception ended with everyone gathered in a circle around us as Innerbloom played. It was this unplanned, collective outpouring of love and energy — a moment our guests and we will never forget.

A Design-Forward Cabo Wedding Weekend with Sunset Hues, Garden Party Romance, and Coastal Charm

Emily and Zach’s wedding weekend was a design-forward celebration rooted in storytelling and color. Set against the coastal backdrop of Cabo and designed to transport guests into what felt like a dreamy garden dinner party by the sea, with sunset-inspired hues. The weekend flowed seamlessly between moods: an elegant outdoor rehearsal dinner inspired by European spritz culture, a vibrant “Be Our Something Blue” welcome party bursting with color, and a spirited “Pickleball Fiesta” tournament that brought levity and laughter into the celebration. The wedding day itself returned to a softer, pastel expression of the palette.

Zach proposed on an August afternoon in 2023 at Emily’s family home on Cape Cod. True to his thoughtful and detail-oriented nature, Zach planned a meticulously crafted “25-point proposal,” blending traditions and surprise. Emily, unaware of what was unfolding, believed she was attending a friend’s fabricated “Meat Party,” complete with a fake invitation placed on her calendar six months prior. Instead, she arrived at a surprise gathering of family and friends, lobster rolls, fresh oysters, signature cocktails, and a perfectly timed clearing of rain that bathed the scene in golden-hour light.

The gown featured a structured corset adorned with hand-sewn pearls, intricate Vienna sea-wave lace, and discreet sentimental details, including her grandmother’s beads sewn inside as her “something blue.” After eight fittings at the designer’s London atelier, the final look was completed with a cathedral-length veil crafted on Europe’s widest veil loom. On the morning of the wedding, Zach gifted Emily a tennis necklace that perfectly complemented her Chanel sandals and a Dinny Hall bracelet designed with three stones symbolizing the outfits worn by Emily, her sister, and her mother.

Cocktails took center stage throughout the weekend, with Zach curating 24 signature drinks and six varieties of ice. At the welcome party, guests experienced an “experts-only” bar where every drink was either smoked or set aflame. A fan favorite for guests was a signature martini bar. Cocktail hour featured gazpacho shooters, crispy pork taquitos, and sea bass ceviche, paired with watermelon vodka cocktails and old fashioneds. Dinner included pistachio-pesto burrata salad, herb-stuffed roasted chicken, grilled seasonal vegetables, and creamy polenta. Late-night bites followed with fresh pizzas and warm pancakes with maple syrup, a nostalgic nod to the couple’s college days, playfully named “Arillaga Late Night.”

Minimalist place settings allowed thoughtful details to shine — half-arch place cards paired with lilac blooms and embossed with the couple’s floral motif and intertwined “E+Z” monogram containing handwritten notes to each guest. Bud vases of varying heights added softness, while color flowed in a sunset-inspired ombré from soft peach to deep violet across each table. Custom tablecloths featured oversized versions of the floral pattern in rich purples, adding bold personality.

Life doesn’t always go according to plan — and sometimes, the most meaningful moments aren’t the ones we meticulously design, but the ones we embrace with open hearts. Hannah and Cory’s wedding story is a perfect example of that. What began as a meticulously planned celebration in St. Simons Island, Georgia, turned into one of the most heartfelt, intimate, and memorable days. It took place in a beautiful corner of Mexico. A HURRICANE CHANGES EVERYTHING. Hannah and Cory were weeks away from their October wedding in St. Simons Island. Vendors were booked, timelines were set, and excitement was high… until a hurricane threatened to derail it all. With just three days to go, and the storm bearing down on the island, they made the incredibly difficult decision to cancel everything. It was a stressful, heartbreaking few days — especially when, by the day before their wedding, the hurricane had shifted course and clear, sunny skies returned. Though relieved, they were devastated that all the planning, anticipation, flights, and preparations had been lost. They chose not to reschedule: too much energy, emotion, and cost had already gone into planning once. But life had other plans. When the local St. Simons community heard what had happened, something truly beautiful unfolded. Neighbors, friends, and community members rallied and arranged a surprise, spontaneous mini wedding celebration in the town’s park. This was for the guests who had already made the trip. To begin the day, we started at the breathtaking Belmond Casa de Sierra Nevada. It was a setting that perfectly matched the elegance and simplicity Hannah envisioned.
Hannah wore an exquisite gown by Rebecca Schoneveld — the one she always dreamed of. For her getting-ready look, she chose breezy, stylish pieces from If Only If Nightwear, capturing both comfort and sophistication. I also loved photographing her custom engagement ring by Diamond Au Pair — truly one of my favorites.
The morning was filled with quiet joy: just Hannah, her mom, and her best friend. They shared laughs, nerves, and the gorgeous morning light as each moment built into something genuinely emotional.

PRIVATE DINNER AT CASA HOYOS After a relaxing cocktail hour at the Belmond, Hannah changed into a stunning custom-made outfit. It was designed by one of my past brides, Lesea Berry. The look was playful, polished, and perfect for an evening stroll through San Miguel’s colorful streets. We walked through town once more, soaking in the textures, sounds, and golden light, on our way to Casa Hoyos. For dinner, we moved to Casa Hoyos for an intimate meal with just their closest family. Hannah and her mother led the design, creating all the floral arrangements for the table themselves. Everything — from the handmade napkins and dishware to the taper candles and vases — had been found at local shops around San Miguel in the days before the wedding. Each piece included a tiny charm or story from the town itself. It made the dinner table feel not just beautiful but deeply personal. As the sun set and the evening cooled, the warmth of family, food, and a love story that had already weathered so much filled the air.

The Flower Shop MX prepared a beautiful bouquet for the bride. We just told her rich tones that reflect the town, and she delivered! The florals for the dinner in Casa Hoyos were prepared by the bride and her mother from local flower shops.

A FIRST LOOK FULL OF HEART Their first look was one of those moments wedding photographers live for — deeply tender, beautifully sincere. Cory’s eyes lit up when he saw Hannah. There were a few heartfelt laughs, genuine tears, and promises made in a voice only each of them could hear. The family watched from just a respectful glance away.

A Storybook Garden Wedding Beneath Willow Trees with a Joyful Getaway Finale

On their wedding day, the setting itself felt like stepping into a fairytale garden. Towering willow trees framed the ceremony, creating a storybook backdrop as Ashley and Peyton saw each other for the first time. At the cocktail hour, guests gathered around a cigar bar with custom matchboxes and danced along with tambourines stamped with the couple’s wedding logo. As the night came to a close, guests popped streamers while Ashley and Peyton made their exit in a classic getaway car, ending the celebration the same way it began: full of excitement and surrounded by the people who mean the most.

A Colorful Cabo Wedding Weekend with Pink, Orange, and Sea of Cortez Blue Details

The color palette for the wedding day was pink and orange, with a pop of Blue. I knew I always wanted a bright, colorful, and fun wedding, and not something traditional but still elegant. Pink and Orange are my favorite colors, and the Blue to tie back to the Sea of Cortez.

First off, I wanted to ensure all my guests have FUN and escape work, personal life, and all realities for the weekend. We wanted to ensure everything was taken care of for our guests and that all ran smoothly. The day of the wedding was seamless, relaxed, and happy tears – I did not worry about the world as I was with my family and friends in my favorite place in the world, marrying Ross. I think everyone was looking forward to a night they wouldn’t forget. Having visited Cabo every year for the past 20+ years, I wanted to share this very special place with close family and friends. I wanted the guests to see every aspect that Cabo has to offer, and for them to see why I keep going back. Between the Sea of Cortez, desert, estuary, small town of San Jos,e and beautiful greenery and florals throughout all of Cabo, we had three days of events that took place at VERY different locations. Each night was a very different vibe, starting with welcome cocktails in the estuary, to a Mexican Fiesta and Mariachi band in San J,ose to the wedding day on the beach overlooking the Sea of Cortez.

Ross proposed to me in Cartagena, Colombia. He had visited prior and always mentioned he wanted to take me. We planned a long weekend: two days in the old city and two days on the island of Baru. During our first night on Baru Island, he proposed to me on the rooftop of the Sofitel Hotel while having champagne. One of the most fun and exciting trips we have been on thus far!

Having worked in the fashion industry for over 15 years, I knew I had always wanted to wear Oscar de La Renta for my wedding day, but not a traditional Oscar Dress. As someone who wears bright prints and color, I was looking for something more fun, beachy, and less traditional. The second I tried it on, I cried! I knew it was made for me right away with the immaculate,e detailed floral embroidery, small trim, and perfect fit. Paired with Manolo Blahnik mules, it was exactly me. I had removed the sleeves and made the dress strapless. I used the extra fabric from the sleeves to wrap around my bouquet during the ceremony!

I knew I wanted the bridesmaids in different styles of dresses. My only request was for the girls to wear some shade of pink. Each bridesmaid was able to choose whichever pink dress their heart desired in any silhouette they felt comfortable in, and all worked out! They looked fabulous in all different shades of pink and tied back to the florals, creating an ombre effect on the wedding day – softer during the ceremony around the pool, to pops of color and brights down by the reception.

The men wore suits in a mid-blue from Suit Supply with Black loafers. Ross bought each groomsman a Hermes Tie in a soft blue to tie back to the blue of the wedding day. Something they can keep forever! The ring bearer wore a soft blue suit to tie the groomsmen’s mid-blue suits and the light blue of the ties together.

Someone who absolutely loves flowers and buys themselves fresh flowers every week, I always knew florals were going to be important on my wedding day. As someone who had a very specific image, Martha, our florist, made my dreams come to life – between every little detail, the table arrangements, bouquets, large pots during cocktails, and greenery climbing the walls of the venue! And of course, the puppets, guests couldn’t believe how big they were and how much they resembled Ross and me. They were perfect to feature when the dance party kicked off to get everyone to the dance floor!

We wanted a small cake, as we had an endless dessert bar including ice pops and signature espresso cocktails. The cake was a mixed berry flavor and featured the custom Otomi print that was included within the invitations, table numbers, seating charts, and, of course, the dance floor. We wanted to represent the custom Mexican print throughout the entire day that tied the blue, orange,e and pink perfectly together.

My grandmother Eda, who has a very special place in my heart, collected handkerchiefs. We then had it sewn into the interior of the dress, something I will cherish forever.

A Tuscan-Inspired Estate Wedding in Sonoma with Vineyard Views

The design was inspired by a beautiful private estate nestled in the hills of Sonoma that looked straight out of Tuscany. Simone designed a pergola on the bocce ball court at the back of the property that transported the guests to Tuscany, many of them commenting all night that they felt like they were in the Italian countryside looking out at the rolling hills covered in vines.

From the bride: George and I met through Match.com and had our first date on January 9, 2022! We feel SO blessed to have found each other in the vast ocean of single people who try online dating. Almost 3 years later, on the day before my 65th birthday (9/14/24), George popped the question in the most romantic setting in Lake Como, Italy!!! He had reserved a private terrace on the lake at Villa D’Este and ordered the most incredible flower arrangements as well as our favorite champagne (Laurent Perrier Rose) and gorgeous handmade chocolates. He also made a playlist with our favorite love songs,s which the hotel staff started playing just as we walked out onto the terrace, and I immediately knew what was happening. My heart exploded! I couldn’t have dreamed of a more romantic proposal!

I booked a weekend trip with 4 of my girlfriends to shop for a gown at Kleinfeld’s. As a second-time bride, I knew I wanted a very simple, modern gown, and the bridal consultant brought me a variety of options to try on. None of them suited me, so one of my friends who is in the fashion industry decided to take a look at the racks. She found me the perfect Pnina Tornai dress with a “Vivienne Westwood” vibe, which was exactly what I was looking for! I removed the train and changed the laced corset back to a zipper closure, and it was perfect! For my second dress, I chose a Bronx and Banco gown in a mesh fabric with silver tone sequins and beading.

Paula Le Duc curated an impeccable multi-course gourmet dinner party for the guests, featuring an heirloom tomato salad, a sugo pasta course, and finishing off with herb-crusted sea bass; each course had its own wine pairing.

Simone and Max Gill collaborated to create multiple unique spaces around the property to take guests on a journey and make them feel transported to the Tuscan countryside. Guests were welcomed on site with a pre-ceremony reception in an olive grove where they sipped champagne and left the couple well wishes in the guest book, a Robert Mapplethorpe coffee table book of flowers. Guests made their way through a line of olive trees to the side of the estate overlooking the vineyard for the intimate ceremony with towering Cyprus trees in the background. Not wanting to distract from the natural beauty of the landscape, Simone and Max created a low-profile ceremony that felt both elevated and natural with a low circle of white and green florals on an elevated stage. Guests were seated in a semi-circle, and the aisle was lined with wild florals that echoed the ones on the altar and gave the illusion of the flowers spilling out into the crowd and enveloping the guests. Post Ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour by the pool, watching the sun turn the hills golden as they sipped on two signature cocktails and wine from the region. The wild and romantic florals continued, dotted throughout romantic lounge vignettes by the pool, and darker wine colors were introduced in the florals to transition guests into the evening. Right before the sun dipped below the hills, guests were invited to be seated for dinner at a grand table that ran the length of the bocce ball court under a pergola of greenery with hanging bistro lights above. The table was reminiscent of a work of art from the Renaissance with beautiful bronze chargers juxtaposed with modern bronze flatware and clean ceramic plates topped with a linen-backed printed menu and delicate etched crystal stemware. The white and green florals continued into the dinner, mixed with moody shades of plum and merlot flowers and fresh seasonal fruit, including figs, pears, and grapes, and of course, hundreds of candles to set the perfect mood.

We wanted our wedding to honor our family and reflect the joy we felt at being able to share our joy with them and our closest friends in an intimate setting. The ceremony music was chosen from classical pieces performed by a string trio to bring a sense of solemnity and formality to the ceremony. However, as a transition from the ceremony to the cocktail hour, the recessional was a string version of the Beatles’ “All You Need Is Love” to capture the festive, fun mood for the rest of the evening. The readings were done by the groom’s sister, who read a portion of a poem (Pablo Neruda’s Sonnet XVII), and the bride’s brother read a Scripture passage from Song of Solomon (Verses 2:10-13). We were also blessed to have our beloved long-time friend, Dr. James Smith, perform the wedding ceremony.

We rented a classic 1956 Porsche as our “getaway” car, which we thought captured the California road trip vibe and added a romantic, glamorous backdrop to our “golden hour” photos.

Each guest was given a handwritten letter on beautifully designed custom stationery from the bride and groom expressing their gratitude for their participation in their wedding day, as well as the special things they love about each guest. The cards were meant to be placed at each seat prior to the guests being seated, but due to the windy conditions, the servers presented each guest with their note on a silver tray. After each guest had time to read their personal notes, the bride and groom entered the reception area and were seated with the guests.

Both of the couple’s parents are deceased, so their absence was felt on their special day. However, both of their mothers made their presence known in various special ways. Hummingbirds – while the bride was getting ready at The Montage Guest House, a hummingbird flew onto the deck directly across from the opening where the bride was seated. Her mother loved hummingbirds,s and she had the sense that this was her mother coming to offer her love and blessings. Then again, during the vows, a hummingbird flew around the platform where the bride and groom stood. They are both sure that this was their mother joining in the celebration! Airplane – The groom’s mother had learned to fly airplanes and helicopters when she was in her 50’s and owned a Cessna aircraft that she flew on the East Coast. At the exact time of the vows, a single Cessna flew directly over the ceremony platform and off into the distance. Both of us were sure that this was George’s mom sending her love. Another special detail— There were 4 other couples who attended the wedding, celebrating wedding anniversaries in September, including the bride’s friend and matron of honor,r who was celebrating her 40th anniversary that same week. During the dance portion of the evening, the 4 couples were honored with a toast and asked to come up to the dance floor to enjoy a private dance to “The Way You Looked Tonight”. When the dance ended, each couple was presented with a Tiffany gift box with a glass heart-shaped band and an anniversary card as a memento.

To celebrate the upcoming move, Berkeley planned a special dinner in town. On the walk to the restaurant, he stopped, got down on one knee, and asked Mary to marry him.

Cocktail hour included passed hors d’oeuvres, a classic New England raw bar, and a charcuterie table of cheese and cured meats. The reception plated dinner offered guests three entree choices, mini dessert,s and then late night snacks of pizza and chicken tenders once the dance floor opened.

Sayles Livingston Decor provided an elegant and classic design with personal flowers, ceremony florals, and reception florals with candlelight. Drape Art Designs transformed the reception ballroom with the romantic and soft draping on the ceiling. Signs by Viv provided installations such as their welcome sign, seating chart, and pillars to host their After The Tone guest book and card box, along with their bar signage, table numbers,s and other table signage. PEAK Event Services provided the cocktail hour specialty bars, the head table chairs, and all of the beaded chargers. La Affitto provided all of the reception glassware, mixing green and clear. Pranzi Tents and Events provided the guest table, chairs, and the all-white dance floor. Sweetly Designed Events provided the back bar shelving and the rattan lounge grouping in the cocktail hour. Nuage Designs provided the playful cocktail hour linens. Stradley Davidson provided the guest table napkins and the head table linen with their Flora Basil pattern.

A special nod to their wedding cake was having it made by their close family friends, who own Antoine’s Pastry Shop. Music is very important to Mary & Berkeley, so having a cocktail hour with the surprising element of Big Lux Violin, a live electric violinist, to play and work among the crowd provided interactive entertainment for their guests. The vision was to capture not only the visual romance of spring, but also the feeling of it. The wonder of seeing a garden awaken after a long winter. Every detail was chosen to echo the rhythm of the season: delicate blossoms, whimsical vines, and layers of soft texture, as if plucked straight from the earth moments before.

The setting shaped the mood of the entire celebration, infusing it with old-world charm, garden whimsy, and refined elegance.

We grew most of the tablescapes’ flowers for this shoot specifically. The true muse was the iris. It’s layered petals and painterly shades of dusky lavender melting into buttery cream, blush, and golden ochre. That depth of color inspired the surrounding details: table linens in soft washes to highlight the flowers as the focal point, airy glassware that caught the light like morning dew, and place settings that felt refined yet organic. Arrangements were styled spilling across the table as though the garden itself had wandered in to join the celebration. Each setting invited conversation and connection, with textures layered as thoughtfully as the petals themselves.

This repeating detail created a sense of continuity while adding a touch of storybook charm that felt right at home in a celebration inspired by the beauty and magic of the garden.

The reception flowers added color to the design, such as pops of blush, peach, and pale yellow.

Groom’s Attire Peter’s style was timeless with a touch of relaxed modernity — effortlessly in tune with each chapter of the celebration. For the wedding day, he wore a classic black tuxedo, cut to perfection, exuding elegance and quiet confidence. It was a look that balanced formality with ease, in complete harmony with the aesthetic of the ceremony and the villa setting. At the welcome dinner, he chose a more laid-back yet sophisticated ensemble: a light summer suit with subtle stripes, paired with a crisp white shirt and minimalist white sneakers — a look that spoke of Mediterranean charm and understated style. Across all four days, his wardrobe reflected not only refinement, but presence — a sense of occasion, dressed with authenticity.

Alice wore a short white dress with a large back bow; Peter chose a summer suit with white sneakers • Friday – Wedding Day at the villa: Guests were welcomed with chilled Champagne upon arrival — a quiet gesture of celebration that set the rhythm for the evening. At the entrance, a biznaguero — a Málaga tradition — offered fragrant jasmine flowers to each lady, adding a delicate, sensory gesture that bridged local culture and elegance. The ceremony unfolded facing the sea, followed by a graceful cocktail hour in the garden. Dinner was served beneath a white marquee: an elevated buffet by Quilicuá, featuring live grill stations with freshly prepared lobster, prime cuts of meat, Iberian ham, vibrant salads, and artisanal sushi — an abundant tribute to Spanish gastronomy, designed for both beauty and pleasure. • Saturday – Pool Party Back at the villa, with a white-on-white setup centred around the turquoise pool, guests enjoyed refreshing cocktails by MyBar, gourmet burgers and vibrant Mexican bites by Quilicuá. The atmosphere was relaxed yet impeccably styled, with custom chill-out lounges and sunlit details. A top DJ brought energy and effortless flow to the afternoon, as the celebration transitioned seamlessly from midday lounging to golden hour dancing. • Sunday – Closing Party: Held at Playa Padre, Marbella’s iconic beach club, this final gathering was vibrant, joyful, and full of rhythm — the perfect end to a legendary four-day celebration.

The main wedding décor followed a white and green palette: archways in full bloom for the ceremony, a three-metre floral arch facing the sea, submerged florals inside water-filled glass cylinders for the dessert display, and soft floral runners for the dinner tables.

Décor elements included crystal chandeliers, custom furniture, and an all-white grand piano covered in florals — creating a dreamlike garden atmosphere where nature met elegance.[/field]

There was no traditional cake. Instead, dessert became an immersive experience: a garden of sweets suspended on transparent cylinders filled with submerged flowers. The installation was a visual and sensorial statement.

Marigolds and ginkgo leaves were showcased, with vibrant orange floral arrangements bringing a striking glow to the Hayes Mansion in San Jose, California. Each guest was welcomed with a handwritten note of gratitude at the seating chart. With a camera roll filled with sunlit outdoor moments, thoughtfully styled looks, and rooms alive with layered color, the couple created a beautiful celebration for friends and family.

The couple first met at Kinari’s birthday celebration, when a mutual friend invited Jigar along. Kinari and Jigar ended up talking the entire night, a connection that led to their first date just a few weeks later. He arranged for his cousin to suggest a casual dinner plan that day, asking Kinari to meet at their favorite overlook above the San Francisco Bay. Nearby, Kinari’s friend hid discreetly, ready to capture the moment.

The couple envisioned florals and greenery that would enhance the stunning Maroon Bells backdrop, letting the natural beauty of the mountains guide their design choices. From the start, they knew they wanted a tented reception paired with a live band, two decisions that set the tone for a warm, lively celebration and helped bring their overall vision to life. The ceremony and reception were held at T-Lazy-7 Ranch in Aspen, Colorado, a venue the couple chose for its stunning natural scenery and iconic views. The bride had spent many family holidays skiing in Colorado and always dreamed of a ceremony set against a mountain backdrop. T-Lazy-7 Ranch, with its beautiful meadow and breathtaking views of the Maroon Bells, provided the perfect setting for their intimate gathering with family and friends.

She knew it was the one from the moment she saw it on display at The Bridal Path in Jackson, MS. It was the first gown she tried on, and although she tried several others, she kept coming back to it. To complete her look, she wore diamond earrings gifted to her by her father years ago, adding a meaningful and personal touch to her wedding day look, alongside Loeffler Randall block-heel shoes. Later in the evening, she changed into a silver sequined maxi dress from ASOS paired with shiny pink cowgirl boots, bringing a fun “disco cowgirl” vibe to the reception.

During the ceremony, the bride carried a round bouquet filled with soft pink tones, featuring pink peonies accented by white and green blooms, finished with a custom wrap embroidered with her new initials. Green linens, pink and green centerpieces, wicker chargers, white china, and green glassware created a cohesive and welcoming tablescape. Personalized details like custom matches, swizzle sticks, bar menus, and cocktail napkins tied the overall look together seamlessly.

The couple shared their first dance to “At Last” by Etta James—a favorite of the bride’s that she’s always kept on a personal playlist, and a song the groom ultimately chose for them.[/field]

Becky went above and beyond to turn this ordinary farm/industrial space into a dreamy space for the 750+ guests to celebrate. Becky chose to add drapery flowing from the ceilings, had high tops, regular tables, and multiple seating areas so everyone had a space to relax, and mixed tons of florals and blue patterned linens to create a romantic and elegant space. Becky also wanted to ensure all guests had several experiences to enjoy throughout the evening. Not only were there bourbon and whiskey tasting stations, but there was also an artist drawing each guest, a classy black/white photo booth, tons of food and drink stations, the band, and more.

The favorite surprise, though, was certainly the Krystal Burgers served late at night!

Cole not only styled the florals throughout the space to complement the colors and tones Becky chose, but also paired artichokes, green grapes, and other fun produce throughout the tablescapes. With Ocean House’s renowned hospitality and culinary reputation as the backdrop, we knew the food and drink would be a highlight of the guest experience. We embraced classic New England cuisine throughout the weekend, beginning with a traditional beachside lobster bake for the rehearsal dinner, complete with lobsters and clam chowder, much to the delight of guests experiencing their first lobster crack! The celebration continued with a coastal-inspired menu on the wedding day, featuring a fresh raw bar during cocktail hour and a beautifully prepared seafood entrée, allowing the flavors of New England to shine. Later in the evening, we added a playful and personal touch with an “espresso martini hour,” when servers brought espresso martinis straight to the dance floor as guests danced along to “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter, keeping the energy high and the celebration going well into the night.

From Hana Floral: “We chose what we lovingly call, ‘coastal sunset’ colors. Charlotte wanted all the colors and flowers to be happy and joyous, much like her personality! High summer flowers,s such as an abundance of dahlias, zinnias, ranunculus, garden roses, delphinium, clematis, and fresh mint, were used throughout the wedding. We used flowers in shades of coral, peach, yellow, orange, light blue, and lavender, along with fresh greenery throughout. Tall peach eremerus, blue hydrangea, and delphinium took center stage for the ceremony, creating a fun aisle moment as they said their vows. These aisle flowers were later used in front of the DJ booth, adding fun, colorful flowers to the dance floor.”

A Coastal Neutral Wedding on 30A with Ivory Layers and an Elegant Dinner Party Feel

Ivory & white as primary, coastal neutrals as secondary colors. I really didn’t want it to feel overly colored at all. A very niche example to give, but I remember continuing to reference the inside of an oyster shell and how it can be “barely blush,” obviously pearly, sometimes a teeny bit blue/gray, etc. Sand color, the neutrals of the iconic dunes on 30A… all of those natural touches played a role in my background colors. But ivory and white stole the show!

Oh goodness – I dreamt of this day far longer than I care to admit, so to say I had a vision is an understatement! The biggest direction I continued to give was that I wanted it to feel like a gorgeous, comfortable dinner party in the park, versus a wedding. Refined, unforced, and personal. We rode our bikes along Forest Street at the back of Seaside and through Ruskin Park. Growing up, I named my first dog Ruskin; it held so much meaning. I grew up in a family that loves to host and entertain, and regularly set the table for a weeknight dinner. There were always “extra” details, even for simple occasions. I wanted our guests to feel that same vibe – familial, welcomed, an undertone of exceptional hospitality through meaningful details and great service, all the while not feeling too formal or stuffy. Elegant, but comfortable. The other side of the coin was that I really valued traditional elements. I didn’t want a first look; I envisioned a jazzy set list playing alongside a dim-lit seated dinner. I opted away from anything too trendy, while never compromising on customization and personal touches.

My mom invited my sister and me for a girls’ day of blowouts, lunch, and shopping since it was “Partners Card” week in Dallas (a big shopping week!). We started at Drybar, had lunch and bubbles at Sadelle’s, walked over to Market for a new dress, popped over to my favorite salon for a fresh manicure, and finished the afternoon with a margarita. By the end of our date, I was pretty sure something was up, which made our girl time together all the more special. My mom and sister dropped me off at Colin’s and my house – he had music playing, flowers placed, and candles lit, and he was waiting for me in the backyard with my golden retriever Ruskin, who he had dressed in a bow tie that said: “say yes!”. He got down on one knee almost immediately, and it was official! We spent the evening just the two of us with a date at my favorite Dallas restaurant, The Charles, then we scooted over to my mom’s house to toast with family and friends. The next day, he had organized an afternoon of sips and snacks at our go-to spot, Lovers Seafood, next to our house. It was the perfect prelude to how we wanted our wedding weekend to feel with family and friends – warm, casual, meaningful, special, and full of personal details.

My gown was the second dress I tried on, and the first that I loved. I found it at the Anne Barge Atelier in Atlanta while visiting for work with my mom – it was beyond perfect. Our experience at their salon was impeccable. I didn’t think I would go strapless, but I always knew I wanted a fuller skirt. Nothing sleek or fitted, much more classic. I fell in love with the floral hand beading on the Serena dress and ordered it at the start of the new year after I’d shopped around Dallas and just couldn’t beat it! The floral beading became a thread through many other details – porcelain flowers my mom and I found antiquing in Round Top that we placed on a tier of the cake, and then also handmade paper flowers we affixed to every single invitation. I shopped around bridal boutiques for a veil, but couldn’t find anything quite like the one I took a gamble on from Etsy. Paid off! I wore a ring gifted from my grandmother, earrings from Jennifer Behr, and floral hair accessories I found on Etsy, as well. My last favorite dressing detail was the sash tied around my bouquet – it was a piece we cut from the wedding dress that my mom, aunt, and grandmother all wore, and we embroidered all our wedding dates on the tail. We embroidered blue flowers between the dates for my “something blue.” My shoes were tried and true Loeffler Randall – a low block heel with an ivory leather bow, before I changed into my custom Miron Crosby cowboy boots. I knew I’d need something comfier for all our Greek dancing! And finally, my second dress was something I really didn’t want to spend too much on. So I found a simple satin-twill mini dress with a bit of a bubble silhouette, then sourced a fabric with big, beaded pearl florals. My seamstress appliqued them on the dress to give it some oomph, and it ended up feeling like a continuation of my wedding gown.

My bridesmaids wore the Reformation Kairo dress – an ivory midi with organza bow sleeves. Soft, classic, elegant, with a teeny bit of whimsy for a coastal environment. My maids of honor wore a Coco Shop dress I had seen on Over The Moon, but when we finally went to purchase it, the silhouette was sold out. I reached out, and they actually offered to custom make three more for my maids of honor – they were perfect! Ivory with a sand, green, and blue floral pattern. A perfect way to gently incorporate my secondary colors, and connected visually to a watercolor pattern my mom painted for other custom linens. All bridesmaids carried simple, mixed ivory bouquets, and my maids of honor matched mine that had a touch of barely blush blooms. I like that everything felt ever so slightly mixed, but natural and blended.

Colin’s groomsmen wore classic notch lapel black tuxedos and were gifted monogrammed pocket squares to wear on the wedding day. Colin went with a peak lapel to be a bit more formal, then changed into a white dinner jacket for dinner and dancing. He’s as much, if not more, of a traditionalist as I am!

As mentioned, my family loves to host and entertain, and that includes cooking. My mom’s side is Greek – a lively household comes with the territory. I grew up with many family members in the restaurant and catering world, so food and service were highly important to my mom and me while planning. We were so lucky to work with Donna Townsend of Townsend Catering – we knew she shared our love of a well-designed menu and valued attention to detail from the minute we met! I was hell-bent on having a seated dinner with a few too many guests, and she did everything possible to make it work and feel comfortable. I really loved that we had distinct spaces for each part of the event; it let guests feel the environment a little more than just one big space for everything. For cocktail hour in DiBicci Park, Townsend prepared an Elderflower Spritz – honoring our new last name, Elder – and passed hors d’oeuvres: dill marinated shrimp, watermelon cups with gorgonzola and fresh mint, deviled eggs with candied bacon, and mini chicken tacos to bring a little Texas to Florida. Our band second-lined guests from DiBicci Park to Ruskin Park to transition to our dinner, and next was probably my favorite food detail: each place setting had a petite domed amuse bouche bite of whipped feta on pita with pistachio and honey. We used the dome to place a paper butterfly place card on top, but I really loved the Greek bite inclusion. Finally, our dinner menu was so divine. I remember us asking Donna several times to ensure that a hot meal would, indeed, be served hot since she had to construct an outdoor kitchen – and she more than delivered! We served a dual entrée of filet mignon and grouper with schug sauce, a potato-gruyere galette, and a vegetable bundle. I loved getting to serve a local fish, and our guests still talk about it as the best “wedding food” they’ve ever had. For a late-night snack, we passed french fries served out of Burger House cups, which is my family’s restaurant in Dallas, famous for its burger and fry seasoning. All our Dallas crew loved it!

I wanted the floral palette to stay very creamy, ivory, and white, with a touch of barely blush for my bouquet, my maids of honor, and the mommas. My bridesmaids carried simple mixed ivory bouquets, and everything was intended to feel natural in assembly. Not too tight, not too wild. I like that everything felt ever so slightly mixed, but blended. The reception florals were similar, with lots of ivory and creams prioritized. I had two favorite floral placements, both at the entrance of our park spaces. One was using my French opaline glass collection as bud vases on our guest book table, and the other was the rose climbing up the tree by the cake table at the entrance to Ruskin. We kept the cocktail hour simple in terms of what we brought in – again, I wanted the actual spaces to shine versus feeling like we overdressed the park. We had a gorgeous taupe lattice bar, cocktail tables, and a gallery frame wall featuring guest seating assignments and all the custom artwork my mom painted for the wedding. I also popped in a framed postcard from Fredericksburg, Texas, where our first date was. Seeing Ruskin Place all dressed up for the first time made me cry – as expected! My mom and I labored over every single element of those tablescape settings for months. I just absolutely loved seeing everything in my head turn to reality. We sourced chargers, flatware, linens, and glassware, all from different places. We were so adamant about finding the right pieces, constantly seeking options. The natural, elevated dinner party vibe was the litmus test for every decision – we chose string lighting and table lamps for a dim setting and to let the tree canopy be a focal point. We chose a classic birch and white checkerboard dance floor, paired next to a round bar featuring my mom’s watercolor cane pattern and anchoring the full space so effectively. The park had a built-in stage, allowing the party to feel like we just popped up versus being forced in. We mixed all sorts of table shapes and sizes paired with varied dining chairs and banquettes for the seated dinner, and selected table linens in ivory and champagne tones with my mom’s elderflower botanical paper table runners layered in the center of the space.

My childhood best friend and bridesmaid baked both the bride and groom cakes onsite — coconut and banana for me, chocolate for Colin — cut with my grandparents’ wedding knife. Sam and I have been friends since middle school, and we’ve been kindred creative spirits the whole time. We’ve crafted it all – scrapbooked, sewn, baked, painted, you name it. She’s my first phone call every morning, and we usually start the day with creative problem-solving for one of us, especially when I was running Madeleine Creative full-time! It was never a question whether or not she’d make our cakes. I was so grateful she was willing to pack a bag of all her materials and bake out of a mutual friend’s beach house. I wanted the bride’s cake to be pretty classic, and once my mom and I found the porcelain flowers antiquing in Round Top, they made for the perfect personal touch and red thread across many details. I decided at the last minute to surprise Colin with a baseball cake since he loves the Cubs.

Colin and I really enjoyed planning our ceremony – it was an unexpected joy on my end, because the Greek Orthodox ceremony is so traditional, so I had never really thought about what a ceremony of our own design might look like. We asked my sister to read the Prayer of Saint Francis, a prayer she and I grew up reading at Camp Mystic. I also included a sweet thought from Camp Mystic printed on the first page of our wedding program that holds so many memories and meaning to me. Colin and I also selected Colossians 3:12-17 for my cousin to read in the ceremony. I walked down the aisle to Your Song by Elton John – he’s my absolute favorite of all time, I’ve seen him play all over the world! We exited the Chapel to Signed, Sealed, Delivered by Stevie Wonder, and it was so fun to hear played by the strings. Our first dance was I Just Called To Say I Love You also by Stevie Wonder – we had a very hard time choosing something that matched both our styles, and ended up choosing this song because that’s what Colin does so frequently to calm me down and start my day on the right foot. We both thought it was sweet to find a whole song about that cute habit :)

The invitation was probably the most anticipated project of the entire wedding process, given the nature of my mom’s business. She began her company 35 years ago by hand-painting and hand-cutting completely bespoke invitations – so everyone just knew all of our paper would be over the top! The save the date was a nod back to the type of invitations she began with – die cut pieces tucked into a pocket that guests pulled out to get all the information. And then the actual wedding invitation, we labored over from beginning to end. I joked that I probably made for the worst type of client, because I truly knew all the options and had such a vision in my head that I wanted to bring to life. My very first business was calligraphy services, so it was a full circle and very special to actually be inking my own wedding invitation verbiage and addresses. I wrote all the text that was engraved in a blush-sand color on a die-cut card with barely blue beveled edges and pearl foil floral embossing on the edges. All the cards – weekend itinerary, die-cut flower with reception details, and an “extra” card featuring a watercolor botanical print of an elderflower – were tied together with a dupioni silk ribbon bow and gently tucked into a custom-made box envelope, sealed with a flower petal wax seal. The biggest showstopper, though, was the handmade paper flowers affixed to the invitation card. I had seen 3D paper flowers on an invitation, probably 10+ years ago, and wanted to include them in my invitation suite so badly! I reached out to a few paper artists and just couldn’t find a quote that worked for us, and somehow, someway, one of my mom’s dear friends learned how to make them and hand-made over 600 little flowers. A true labor of love, I’m forever indebted!

Probably working alongside my mom to create completely custom artwork and “extras” from her paintbrush! Getting to finally be her client and putting our creative brains together for my wedding, after working together in so many ways for so long. We created a visual language anchored in an elderflower motif — a nod to our new last name. The watercolor botanicals appeared on block-printed bench cushions, embroidered napkins, and a custom linen for the cake table. We used the existing park benches and coffee tables as our lounge seating and had custom fabric printed with my mom’s watercolor artwork and made into custom cushions to zhush up the in-place furniture as lounge seating spots. The die-cut butterfly place card, the menus with a tied-on tassel, a custom matchbox party favor, the “Ruskin’s Bar” branding tying together the park name and my sweet golden retriever’s name, and so much more.

The Greek touches were really important to me – we followed our Seaside wedding with a ceremony in my home Greek Orthodox Church in Dallas, but I still wanted to include some traditions to make it feel like the real deal. One was the ‘Koufeta’ favors I assembled – it’s a Greek wedding tradition to hand out Jordan almonds in an odd number to celebrate the couple, symbolizing the sweetness and endurance of marriage. I made 150 for every guest tied in an organza ribbon flower with a tag explaining the tradition. The amuse bouche bite at the beginning of our dinner menu was another fun Mediterranean nod, but what really stole the show was the Greek dancing! My sister and I grew up dancing in the Greek Food Festival of Dallas, and my aunt is one of the dance instructors. She hosted a party for my bridesmaids to learn how to Greek dance ahead of the wedding, and so all my family and friends were out on the dance floor, marching around. It was incredible! We used the band’s break as the perfect 20 minutes to show everyone how it’s done, kicked off by a sweet toast from my godfather. My cousin broke plates on the dance floor, which guests just loved watching, then my sister, aunt, and I closed out the dancing by performing one of the harder dances. It ended up being such a fun kick-off to the rest of the party when the band came back on – so high energy, so different from other weddings, and truly just pure joy for everyone, whether they jumped in the line or cheered on from the sides!

Whitney and Lauren of Wither and Bloom created intentional, show-stopping installations: magnolia trees flanked the soft seating, and hanging florals with disco balls over the dance floor guests to dance the night away.

From the bride: We were inspired by Nikita’s love of flowers and our beautiful venue (the Asian Art Museum) to create as enchanting a vibe as possible. Our planner, Celi, and florist Lana did an incredible job of bringing this to life with floral installations that enhanced the pre-existing beauty of the space. When it all came together with mauve colored candles, at dusk, the atmosphere was romantic, warm, and sophisticated. Later in the evening, once dinner was complete, we knew exactly what we wanted the night to evolve into… an epic dance party!! Our DJ and a carefully curated selection of dance floor props (note: jumbo glow sticks) brought this to life.

From the bride: On the day of the proposal, Greg had planted the seed that they would be having dinner that evening with Nikita’s brother. Before dinner, he suggested a walk in the marina, which was something they frequently did at sunset. As they were approaching the wave organ (a rock formation), Nikita started to hear one of her favorite Elvis songs emerging up ahead. When she looked up at Greg, he had already begun to get emotional — and then it dawned on her. As they got closer, there were rose petals and candles in the shape of a heart where Greg dropped down on one knee. It was sweet, emotional, and perfect. Later in the evening, on the way to dinner, Greg suggested they pop into a restaurant for a quick drink — upon entry, all of their friends jumped out and yelled “Surprise!!” The room was decorated with photos of them, friends, and family everywhere. The night evolved into tequila shots and Ke$ha (as all good nights do), and it was perfect.

Curated by Carrie Dove, the menu balances global flavors with refined presentation, creating a dining experience that feels both celebratory and personal. Guests are welcomed with interactive stations that encourage movement and connection, including an elegant sushi station and a beautifully presented dim sum station that nod to Asian culinary traditions in a fresh, contemporary way. Passed and stationed bites like rosemary grilled lamb skewers add warmth and depth, bringing familiar, comforting flavors with a polished twist. The evening transitions into a plated, sit-down dinner that ties everything together, blending technique, flavor, and presentation in a way that feels intentional rather than thematic. Each course is designed to feel balanced and inclusive, honoring cultural influences while remaining inviting and approachable for all guests.

The floral design for Nikita and Greg’s wedding is lush, romantic, and full of depth, centered around a rich palette of magenta, mauve, red, and purple. The arrangements are layered and expressive, creating movement and texture while still feeling refined and intentional within the Asian Art Museum. When guests first walk in, they are greeted by the grand staircase, where a lush flower meadow and romantic candle trails set the tone for the celebration, creating an immediate sense of wonder and intimacy. The grand frosted, tinted glass texture panels adorned with lush florals serve as the focal point of the celebration in Samsung Hall, creating an awe-inspiring backdrop that feels both modern and romantic. A deeply personal touch comes through in the smaller details that create moments of joy for guests. Nikita and Greg designed personalized take-out boxes that hold fortune cookies, transforming seating cards into playful, thoughtful surprises. These little moments invite guests to pause, smile, and feel part of the story, reinforcing that this celebration is as much about meaningful experiences as it is about grand design. Another memorable design moment is the custom lantern tree created by Big Day Service’s design and production team. Champagne-colored lanterns are thoughtfully chosen to blend beautifully with the museum’s travertine, feeling like a natural extension of the space rather than a statement placed on top of it.

The wedding cake was small and sweet, a single tier decorated with fresh flowers in the wedding’s gorgeous palette of magenta, mauve, red, and purple. But the real star was BooBoo. The couple’s beloved pup had her own little figurine standing next to the cake, looking like she was taking a playful bite, and honestly, she completely stole the show. The cake itself was elegant and simple, letting BooBoo’s charm shine through. It was one of those moments that made everyone smile, and so personal, perfectly capturing the couple’s love and sense of humor.

Angad (Nikita’s brother) was deputized earlier that week at San Francisco City Hall to officiate the wedding. Jessica (Greg’s sister) was the obvious choice for our witness! Every time we look at our certificate, we are reminded of their love and support.[/field]

Nikita & Greg kept saying over and over throughout the planning process that their priority was “guest experience”. It was key to them that everyone who attended felt warmth, care, and attention that weekend. They tried to create little moments of joy, like fortune cookies with seating cards within, or trivia the night before. They also had guests submit RSVPs with song requests (that were taken very seriously) for the dance floor!

A Wildflower-Inspired Wedding at Blue Hill at Stone Barns with Orchid Accents and Chic Pattern Play

Juliana came to me in January for her July wedding! Once we locked in Blue Hill at Stone Barns for July 4th, we hit the ground running with the planning process! We wanted to lean into the summer “wildflower” vibes, while also adding stronger elements like orchids. We really leaned into the subtle moments of color from adding flower-printed napkins, purple ink calligraphy placed cards, and taupe candles. – Ashley the Planner An emphasis on textures and grasses with bold flowers created a vision for a modern wedding that was elevated and effortless. Unexpected prints, patterns, and pops of color made the design feel chic, but not stuffy.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Antonio and Juliana met back in 2012 while they were both in college and spent years as friends before they began dating in 2023 while both living in New York. Over the holidays in December 2024, Antonio proposed in a private moment in Juliana’s hometown of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, just before both of their families surprised Juliana by joining for an engagement celebration. With family traveling from Puerto Rico, Miami, and Mexico, New York felt like the right place for them—both a natural meeting point and the city where their relationship began. They booked Blue Hill at Stone Barns shortly after the engagement, a place they both loved.[/field]

Juliana wore the Danielle Frankel Pia gown for both the ceremony and reception, choosing its clean, simple silhouette as a base for a statement Vera Wang organza floral veil that echoed the natural setting of the venue. She paired the look with Manolo Blahnik Carolyn heels in satin and lace. For the party, she changed into a draped Magda Butrym mini dress, finished with Jimmy Choo Sacaria block heels.

We started exploring different ideas of how the flowers and design could match the beauty and ethos of Blue Hill. We looked through a lot of photos together and kept coming back to one that had grasses and textures punctuated by more sculptural blooms. It felt unfussy and cool with the bold colors and graphic shapes, and mimicked the ample garden beds at the venue. We followed this inspiration direction for the aisle, keeping things very textural with grasses, ferns, and small purple blooms like oregano and verbena. Large globe and Schubertii allium really stood out against this design and created a dynamic pathway to their altar, which was a statement-making backdrop for Juilianna and Antonio’s vows filled with lush, cascading orchids. The arrangements for the reception introduced some warm pops of peaches, coral, and yellow, and we wanted to keep the design fun and expressive with gestural stems, unique flowers, and asymmetrical shapes. Summertime gives us a bounty of beautiful local material, including: ‘amazing gray’ poppies, meadow rue, clematis, alliums, and scabiosa that were layered with curving phalaenopsis orchid and delicate oncidium orchids to create a centerpiece that felt romantic and garden-like. – Michelle (Florist) A small locket charm with photos of Juliana’s late grandmother was tucked into her bouquet, adding a simple and meaningful personal tribute. – Juliana

The ceremony itself was officiated by Padre Orlando Lugo, a priest who has known Juliana and her family her entire life and traveled from Puerto Rico to marry the couple in New York. The ceremony ended with a live performance from Garret and Tamara of “New York, New York” by Frank Sinatra, which was a fitting send-off and a final tribute to the city at the center of their story. As a nod to the bride’s Puerto Rican roots, the couple invited Los Pleneros de la 21 to perform traditional plena during the reception, instantly lifting the energy and turning the celebration into a lively, unforgettable moment.

Juliana wore Manolo Blahnik Carolyn heels in satin and lace, which were hand-painted with the couple’s wedding date in blue by an artist at a Manolo Blahnik Bridal Fashion Week event in NYC. The custom detail added a personal layer and became a keepsake from that day.

Juliana’s engagement ring was custom-designed by Abeer Jan of Ajain Jewelry, who happens to be a close friend from college for both Juliana and Antonio. Knowing Juliana’s love for yellow diamonds, they created a ring centered around a canary diamond that felt both personal and timeless.

Guests were welcomed with custom floral gift bags featuring “Nuevayol J+A” hats in blue and red, engraved with the couple’s wedding date. The hats were a direct nod to Bad Bunny’s Nuevayol – a playful reference to partying in New York on the Fourth of July – while also tying back to where the couple met and Juliana’s Puerto Rican roots. Levain cookies were also included as a classic New York staple.
