A Soft Blue and Terracotta Euro-Inspired Wedding at The Lodge at Torrey Pines

For the wedding, we used soft blues, terracotta, peaches, and creams

Anna wanted a soft, timeless, romantic European garden feel for her wedding day. Embracing the setting with the blue of the ocean and sunset tones of peaches, oranges, and creams. Her veil had hand-embroidered leaves and flowers, so we used that as inspiration for the invitations and day-of paper goods, as well as the choice of stunning embroidered linens from Theoni Collection. The same location was used for the ceremony and dinner, and so we had approximately 1.5 hours to “turn” the space so the design had to be done in such a way that it would work seamlessly for both events. The sweetheart table was placed between the stunning arches. The beaded chandeliers were moved from the entrance of the ceremony to over the wedding party tables. We designed the truss structure in an “H” design with white twinkle lights that disappeared into the sky and custom pendants that were hung over the aisle/ dance floor so it would look beautiful as everyone walked down the aisle, but also enhanced their special dances and sparkled after sunset.

Inspired by the romance of an Italian summer spent in the countryside, the floral design drew from a sun-washed palette of terracotta, honey, apricot, and soft sky blue—echoing the patinaed walls and faded fresco tones of an Italian villa. The colors felt warm and lived-in, evoking long afternoons, open air, and the quiet beauty of the landscape. Linens filled with hummingbirds, soft blue stripes, and embroidered flowers enhanced the overall design. Moab roses in the perfect terracotta hue anchored the palette, paired with light blue delphinium, icy blue tulips, butterfly ranunculus, creamy lisianthus, and delicate garden spray roses. The result was a floral story that felt both intentional and organic, with soft movement and natural variation throughout. The couple’s domed chuppah was designed with flowing hops vines and PeeGee hydrangea, offering a subtle nod to the early fall season while maintaining the airy, romantic feel of a summer celebration in the Italian countryside. Each design and floral element was thoughtfully curated to flow seamlessly from the ceremony to the romantic dinner setting under the stars.

Anna and Eli incorporated the watercolors and fine art of Wendy Ware, the designer, and weaved it into every aspect of their event. She created a custom watercolor of Torrey Pines, and it was used for the invitation liner, the programs, and the custom-made fans from the UK. Her fine art renderings of wildflowers were added to the Welcome sign/ the arched menus, the escort card,s as well as the dance floor.

The groom Eli is part of a well-known DJ duo – “Two Friends,” and he wrote a song for Anna that was calligraphied on the escort wall, which also included a record player and vinyl records, and as a nod to his profession, we also designed turntable bar coasters.

A special magenta orchid was placed on a wooden table in honor of Anna’s mother, who had passed away, and during the ceremony and all the post-ceremony pictures of the couple, a single hummingbird continued to fly around them, never leaving their sides.

A Pastel Garden Wedding at Kualoa Ranch with Tropical Fruit Details and Oceanfront Mountain Views

Maui is where Emma is from, and Oahu is where their love story began. At a venue with views of both the Pacific Ocean and the Ko’olau mountains, Emma and Nick wanted to add to the natural tropical beauty by incorporating a whimsical, dreamy, pastel-hued garden. From the pops of tropical fruit on the tablescape, to the whimsical greenery tent entrance placement, with Chinaman’s Hat in their ceremony backdrop. Every little detail was intentionally designed.

Emma and Nick met on Oʻahu at a college bar and first fell in love through their shared sense of adventure and deep appreciation for nature, spending their early dates kayaking to the Mokes, paddleboarding at the Kāneʻohe sandbar, and exploring the island together. Their love for Oʻahu became such a defining part of their story that it ultimately inspired their decision to get married there. During COVID, they moved to Maui to live with Emma’s parents, a season that strengthened their relationship and allowed Nick to become deeply integrated into her family, while also welcoming their beloved puppy, Theo. Later, they moved to Washington to build a life together, where Nick proposed atop a snowy mountain at Crystal, followed by a rainy celebration that ended beneath a breathtaking double rainbow, a moment that felt like the world affirming their love.

The bride wore the Catalina gown by Galia Lahav, a show-stopping design that felt effortlessly perfect for the day. With its sculptural silhouette, intricate detailing, and lightweight construction, the dress struck the perfect balance between high fashion and island ease, mirroring the refined yet relaxed spirit of her celebration. Emma shared that it was her dream gown, and she knew it was her dress the moment she put it on. Emma’s rehearsal dinner dress was from Bec + Bridge.

Emma and Nick wanted to create an elevated experience. Following their ceremony, guests were welcomed with beautifully crafted signature drinks and local-fusion hand-passed appetizers. For dinner, they experienced an upscale buffet featuring mahi-mahi, beef tenderloin, and herb-roasted chicken. For late-night snacks, guests enjoyed spam musubis, French fries, and a charcuterie board.

The blend between the garden spray roses, hydrangeas, butterfly ranunculuses, with the phalaenopsis orchids, amaranthus, and banana leaves created a soft, romantic Europe meets tropical Hawaii floral vibe. The soft pastel color palette elegantly added a touch of color to their design. The pop of tropical fruit organically added dimension and depth to their centerpieces.

The wedding cake and champagne tower display was a statement piece. Their 2-tier yellow butter wedding cake with lilikoi cream filling and a clear coupe glass champagne tower was placed on round white pedestals surrounded by a garden of flowers. It was the perfect mix of traditional and trendy.

Emma’s Uncle played the saxophone to open up the dance party during her reception, and it was such an energizing moment. The whole crowd gathered around him while he took control of starting the dance party, and it was such an invigorating moment celebrating the two’s union as the reception began.

The necklace that Emma wore at her welcome party was handmade from pearls her father found just for her. It was the most meaningful gift that started the celebration with such a pure and grounding intention.

A Tropical Keys Wedding with Barefoot Beach Vibes and Ballroom-Level Elegance

Our dream was to have the feeling of your toes in the sand, but the elegance of a ballroom. Our team was able to bring that dream to life with the most amazing florals, production, accent décor, beachfront venue, and outstanding live band for all aspects of the day. It perfectly married the tropical island vibes of the Keys with the grand feel of an elevated reception.

We met during our time as students at Georgetown University. During one of our annual trips down to D.C. with our friends, we went back to campus, and Drew planned the most amazing proposal right in front of Healy Hall, the main historic building on campus. The surprises didn’t stop there. All of our friends were waiting at our favorite bar from college, Tombs, and surprised me with a full celebration all night!

My dress was from Mira Zwillinger, and I instantly fell in love with the lace as it reminded me of a beautiful tropical backdrop. The flowers had the right amount of sparkle that glistened in the sun, and Mira was able to customize the dress to the exact silhouette I was hoping for! The Wedding Salon of Manhasset made sure it fit me like a glove so I could dance all night! They even were able to sew in a piece of my grandmother’s wedding dress lace and my grandfather’s handkerchiefs, so they could be with me spiritually throughout the night.

Our favorite thing to do together is watch sunsets anytime we can. I always loved the color yellow, and when we decided to get married in the Florida Keys, yellow was the perfect fit, as Islamorada has one of the best sunsets you can imagine. My bridesmaids each wore a different designer they loved and felt most comfortable in, which created depth even when all wearing the same color!

Katherine at Watson Ellis in NYC was able to create a dream custom linen tuxedo for Drew. It matched his vision perfectly, offering a lighter weight and vibe to match the beach feel, but also the chicness and elegance of the tuxedo, which shone under the lighting. She added a custom patch on the inside of the jacket with our wedding monogram for a personal touch.

Our food gave you a little bit of everything that we love! From the raw bar, fresh fish and seafood paella to the live hand-stretched mozzarella from Mimmo’s, the food at our wedding represented our families’ cultures and the location in Islamorada. Chef Stuart Dove from Pierre’s was incredible, and all three main dinner choices were incredible. The whole culinary team made our dreams come true. To add a fun touch to the post-dinner sweets, Cupcake Sushi and Aroma Espresso gave guests an interactive experience to try all different types of desserts and coffee!

The flowers at our wedding brought the entire space to life. We loved how our stage was wrapped in flowers, with the view of the water directly behind us. Lavish Event Design was able to find the most amazing flower variety that provided depth not only in color, but also in unique shapes. Our favorites were the Protea King, White Ginger, and the beautiful white orchids. Together with High Performance Designs, they covered the entire dance floor ceiling with crystal globes and flowers that set the exact mood we were looking for on the dance floor. They really made the elegance on the beach a reality.

Our wedding cake mimicked the waves in the ocean. Maggie recreated our wedding monogram and added flowers that matched the décor of the wedding!

Our wedding band, Good Musicians, was absolutely incredible and truly blew everyone away. They covered an amazing range of music—from pop to timeless classics—bringing to life artists like Olivia Dean, Paramore, Pitbull, Justin Bieber, Chappell Roan, Zac Brown Band, Celine Dion, Bill Withers, and Frank Sinatra, all while featuring stunning violin and bold horn sections that elevated the sound. The jazz band during cocktail hour set the perfect, sophisticated beach club vibe, and the string trio during the ceremony was beautiful and emotional. Guests were constantly coming up to us in awe, saying they’d never seen a wedding band that talented or versatile. They had people on the dancefloor from the second the party started until the end!

KP&Co Design Studio was truly exceptional and brought our entire wedding vision and weekend to life in the most thoughtful, artistic way. She used watercolor to paint our venue with a stunning sunset for our save the dates, then designed wedding invitations featuring watercolor maps, conch-shell–shaped details, exquisite calligraphy, and personalized envelope liners filled with all of our favorite things and places. She went above and beyond for our day-of details as well, creating personalized menus, ceremony fans, cups, and napkins, and a large bar inlays that perfectly matched our invitation liner and monogram. The showstopper was our custom seating chart, complete with the most beautiful hand-painted parasols to match—it was all absolutely unforgettable.

Good Times Roll Photobus was such a highlight of the night and brought the best energy to our celebration. Taking photos inside the vintage Volkswagen bus was incredibly fun and added the coolest, most playful vibe to the evening. They provided a beautiful wooden book that guests could put their pictures in and sign as a guestbook, which gave us a super fun way to remember the night. Guests loved the props, everyone got to take home photo keepsakes, and it was so much fun that some of the props even made their way onto the dance floor!

A Design-Forward Fusion Wedding at Tenuta Santi Giacomo e Filippo

With a growing surge of fusion couples seeking meaningful destinations to celebrate their love, Italy continues to be an increasingly sought-after setting for weddings that blend cultures, traditions, and modern romance. This editorial was inspired by that desire to reimagine a destination wedding in Italy through a contemporary, design-forward lens while honouring the richness of cultural storytelling. Planned and concepted by SJ Soirée alongside Strokes Photography, the vision focused on creating an experience that felt immersive, refined, and deeply connected to its surroundings rather than styled for the sake of aesthetics.

Located in the historic city of Urbino, Tenuta Santi Giacomo e Filippo is a beautifully restored 18th century estate set within the lush hills of the Marche region, offering an evocative blend of rustic charm and refined elegance. The property spans hundreds of hectares of vineyards, olive groves, and gardens, creating an idyllic natural backdrop that feels both timeless and deeply connected to the Italian countryside. As an organic farm and wine resort, the estate provides multiple event spaces ranging from tranquil botanical gardens to terraced views overlooking lakes and rolling hills, allowing for a variety of moments throughout the editorial that feel intimate, romantic,c and uniquely tied to place. Guests and couples alike can enjoy the onsite restaurant, spa, and panoramic pool areas that contribute to the sense of celebration and immersion in local culture, while historic architecture and verdant scenery anchor every frame with a sense of history and calm.

The fashion story unfolded through two distinct looks, both thoughtfully provided by Lotus Bloom and styled to reflect different moments of the celebration. For the ceremony, the model wore a white lehenga-inspired ensemble that felt both modern and timeless, pairing traditional craftsmanship with a refined silhouette that complemented the historic Italian setting. The look was elevated with carefully selected jewelry and accessories from Lotus Bloom, including statement pieces and a chic bag that added a contemporary layer while maintaining an overall sense of elegance. For the second look, the model changed into a draped saree designed for a more playful and celebratory cocktail moment. The fluid draping and relaxed styling brought movement and energy to the editorial, creating a sense of contrast while still feeling cohesive within the overall design narrative. Accessories from Lotus Bloom once again completed the look, seamlessly tying together fashion, culture, and modern styling in a way that felt intentional and effortless.

The florals and decor were designed to feel distinctly Italian while maintaining a refined and modern sensibility. A palette of green, white, and warm yellow tones was carried through the arrangements created by Silvia Merli, with seasonal blooms and lush greenery styled in an organic, garden-inspired manner that felt effortless rather than structured. Fresh lemons were incorporated throughout the design, adding vibrant pops of colour and reinforcing a sense of place rooted in the Italian countryside. To enhance the setting, white iron chairs were selected to complement the historic surroundings, paired with tabletop rentals from Nolo Party that included understated linens, refined tableware, and elegant glassware. The warm yellow of the lemons contrasted beautifully against the crisp whites and soft greens, creating a layered and visually engaging tablescape. The overall design balanced old-world charm with contemporary styling, resulting in a look that felt romantic, timeless, and fresh.

This small but meaningful element grounded the design and brought a sense of warmth and thoughtfulness to the dining experience.[/field]

Guests were welcomed to the ceremony with mini espresso martini shooters upon arrival. Following the ceremony, hors d’oeuvres consisting of mahi mahi ceviche, mini beef wellington, bacon-wrapped dates, spicy chicken biscuit, and lobster rolls were passed during cocktail hour, to be paired with their specialty drinks: French 75 and Cynar Boulevardier. For the reception, guests were served baby iceberg wedge salads, a raspberry intermezzo course, and their choice of beef, chicken, fish, or vegetarian entrees. Upon enjoying a chocolate chip cookie bar and vanilla milkshake shooters for dessert, the guests ended the night with Chicago-style dogs and Italian beef sandwiches.

This wedding featured an all-white floral design with foliage accents to match the stunning gardens of the venue. The plated dinner service opened with a crisp romaine Caesar salad accented by smoked prosciutto, focaccia croutons, pickled peppers, white anchovy, and shaved Parmesan. Delicate glassware, simple place settings, and soft candlelight added subtle texture, while café lights overhead and palm trees in the distance brought warmth and movement as the evening unfolded. After a rich Italian Aperitivo served on the terrace overlooking the view of the countryside, the guests were invited to be accommodated for a multi-course seated dinner in front of the Villa. The menu included a red shrimp and truffle tartare served with a gold leaf, followed by a Risotto with prawns, asparagus, and saffron, and Schiaffoni fresh pasta with fresh Burrata and truffle as First courses. For the Main course, Sesame-crusted red tuna steak, with crispy artichokes, and Modena balsamic vinegar was served together with a fresh spinach salad with nuts and balsamic vinegar. An iced lemon sorbet was the perfect ending for such a delicious and sophisticated dinner before the wedding cake.

The floral design by Flowers Living florist was nothing less than a dream realized, thanks to a mix of a refined color palette of different shades of pink. The goal was to create a sophisticated ceremony setup that perfectly matched the Art Deco style of the Tempietto in the ceremony garden. The flower selection included white peonies for the bridal bouquet, pink and purple hydrangea, English and quick roses, pink gypsophila, and pink carnations.

Daniela and Alessandro decided to have 2 Wedding Cakes: Daniela really wanted a master piece multi-tiers wedding cake, like the one that Marisa, the pastry chef from Sugarcups, made specifically for this wedding: a 4 tiers wedding cake decorated with leaves and flowers in total white, big and ethereal at the same time. Alessandro really wanted a traditional Italian Millefoglie prepared in front of the guests: thenewlywed really enjoyed finishing the cake with sugar and mixed berries.

Featuring fresh Utah peaches alongside the rich, creamy burrata was a brilliant highlight — the sweet, juicy fruit paired beautifully with the cheese, giving guests that bright, summery flavor combination they couldn’t stop raving about.[/field]

The ceremony florals were breathtaking and beautifully intentional. The asymmetric arch framed the couple perfectly without obscuring the stunning mountain backdrop — a modern, artful choice that complemented the natural setting instead of competing with it. Asymmetrical floral designs like this, where blooms and greenery are concentrated in a free‑flowing, uneven structure, are a trending way to add visual interest and a contemporary feel to ceremony arches while still maintaining a soft, romantic look. Flowers were truly a priority for this couple, and Bushel and a Peck Floral Design didn’t miss a single space on the property when it came to floral décor. Every installation — from the ceremony arch to the reception accents — was lush and captivating, helping to transform the venue into a vivid, elegant celebration of color and texture. Guests couldn’t stop admiring how the blooms enhanced every moment, from the vows to the portraits. And of course, even the highland cow got in on the floral fun — Boone wore his own floral necklace, a whimsical, memorable touch that perfectly matched the joyful, nature‑inspired tone of the day. Caroline’s connection with Boone made perfect sense: as a veterinarian, her calm, loving energy with animals shines through in every photo with the horses and the highland cow on the River Bottoms Ranch property. The way she naturally interacted with Boone and the other animals became one of the most memorable moments of the day — a sweet, authentic glimpse into her personality that touched everyone who saw the photos. That highland cow moment even took on a life of its own online, going viral on social media and becoming a beloved snapshot of this special celebration. Boone even got his own flower necklace! Now every bride who sees this believes they need a highland cow on their wedding day!

The escort board cheekily read “Please be seated,” a clever play on words that had guests find their seats and take home a thoughtful favor. Each guest received a custom wildflower seed packet stamped with the bride and groom’s monogram and their seating assignment — a creative twist on traditional escort cards that doubled as a meaningful keepsake. Seed packet escort cards are a popular way to merge practical seating information with sustainable, memorable wedding favors that guests can plant and enjoy long after the celebration. Branding the wedding in a classy way wherever possible was an important part of the design process, and these personalized seed packets did just that — tying in with the summer theme, reflecting the couple’s personality, and leaving guests with something beautiful to grow and remember the day by.

Set in the heart of Charleston, Mary and John envisioned a Gibbes Museum of Art wedding that felt elevated yet joyful, rooted in Southern tradition while embracing a refined, artful sensibility. Their vision centered on creating a celebration that honored the historic architecture of the city while introducing fresh color, layered texture, and thoughtful moments of whimsy. Soft pastel florals and painterly hues of blush, ice blue, and pistachio green formed the foundation of the palette, complemented by crisp whites, tailored black tie details, and warm wood accents. Masculine undertones were subtly woven throughout the design to ground the lighter tones, from bentwood chairs and paneled bar fronts to classic tuxedos and dark green patterned Nuage Designs linens for tabletops. The overall effect was garden-inspired yet polished, playful yet timeless. Rather than relying on a single statement moment, the day unfolded through a series of beautifully considered spaces throughout Charleston. The couple and their wedding parties got ready at the gorgeous Dewberry hotel in the heart of the city. Guests moved from the grandeur of Second Presbyterian Church to the curated galleries of the Gibbes Museum of Art, and finally into an open-air courtyard transformed into an elegant garden party beneath a sailcloth tent.

The kumquats were woven throughout the reception design, appearing in table centerpieces, bar arrangements, and floral compotes, adding both color and a personal nod to the couple’s connection to Florida. The reception courtyard at the Gibbes Museum of Art was transformed into an elegant garden setting beneath a sailcloth tent. Patterned green linens from Nuage and BBJ La Tavola layered the tables, paired with bentwood chairs that added warmth and texture. A long pistachio green paneled bar with arched shelving anchored the space and served as both a functional and visual focal point, seamlessly blending into the surrounding design. The centerpiece of the evening was a grand floral installation arranged in a terracotta vessel and positioned at the heart of the reception, surrounded by four white lounge sofas. This sculptural arrangement created a striking yet inviting focal point, encouraging guests to gather and linger throughout the night. Before guests entered the courtyard, they were greeted by a coordinating floral arrangement on a round table displaying escort cards in the shape of the couple’s dogs, miniature dachshunds, offering a preview of the whimsical garden-inspired design waiting beyond.

A Tuscan Ruins Wedding Inspired by the Italian Renaissance at Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco

After a rich Italian aperitivo, guests sat down for a multi-course dinner: Black Cabbage Salad, Raspberry, Blue Cheese, and Caramelized Nuts was served as a starter, followed by Risotto with Val D’Orcia saffron and a delicious Roasted Veal with Mashed Potato and Sautéed Spinach as the main course. During dinner, Chardonnay and Brunello di Montalcino wines were served to the guests.

The goal was to create the effect as they grew spontaneously around the ruins and along the aisle of the ceremony. The flower selection included peonies for the bridal bouquet, English roses, quick roses, digitalis, clematis, delphinium, and eucalyptus.

From the bride: When we started dreaming about our wedding, we imagined it so many different ways, eloping, a courthouse moment, maybe a chic little restaurant in Chicago. But the more we talked, the more we realized what we really wanted: to be surrounded by our favorite people. Not a huge crowd, just the people who know us best, our families, aunts and uncles, and our closest friends. The reception decor had an elegant, high-end residential interior design feel, with plush leather chairs, custom banquettes, and stylish lighting and table settings that made guests feel as if they were in a beautiful coastal restaurant.

From the bride: We had talked about getting engaged for a while, so I knew it was coming. I was convinced it would be almost impossible to surprise me truly. Every time we went anywhere even slightly special, I’d think, this is it! Joe said to actually surprise me, it had to be something that was part of our everyday life, because anytime he tried to plan anything, I was immediately onto him. We went on one of our usual walks through our downtown Chicago neighborhood, along Lake Michigan, something we do all the time. I didn’t think twice about it. I was in yoga pants, no makeup, hair definitely not picture-ready. And then, with the water behind us, he got down on one knee. When we got home, the surprise continued. While we were out, his sisters had snuck into our place and transformed it, candles everywhere, flowers, and champagne waiting for us.

Patrick was the most thorough and thoughtful planner when it came to the proposal – he had backup plans for the backup plans Fog derailed his Plan A to propose on the beach overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge (where we did our engagement photos!), but he pivoted to Plan B, which was Lovers Lane in the Presidio. He diligently scoped out the spot beforehand, even weeding out the exact spot he wanted to propose. It was perfect – we had the whole place to ourselves, and we love visiting the spot today on walks in our neighborhood. We spent the weekend celebrating with our friends and family (some of whom were total surprises to me) in Healdsburg, where we coincidentally wound up getting married! Healdsburg has a special place in our hearts now.

Juniper Lane is an organic yet elevated late September wedding with subtle hints of autumn color alongside shades of peach, white, and salmon. For the ceremony, we created an organic, naturalistic floral nest to frame the couple using seasonal flowers and branches, including pistache, golden raintree pods, dahlias, native grasses, smokebush foliage, and Japanese anemone. The textural design was created intentionally, as the clients did not want traditional-lookingng grounded arch but instead preferred to take cues from the natural beauty at the ceremony site, which was anchored by a large oak tree and rock formations, and the surrounding vineyards. Adding pops of white with aster and nerine helped give it an airy feeling and kept it from looking too dark or traditional “fall.” For the personal flowers and the reception, we used local, organically grown cosmos, phlox, peach, and coral dahlia, delphinium, and honeysuckle vines. Dinner tables featured a mix of arrangements and bud vases with a collection of candles to pair with the green velvet textures and printed linens.

The father of the bride told a story of how, when Erin was a little girl,l she would pick a flower from their yard in the morning before school. He drove her every day, and his favorite memory was how she would give him the flower she picked before she went to school. After this sweet story,y it was time for the first dance. Erin picked a flower from her table arrangement and gave it to him. Photos in this gallery show the moment of his reaction, then his hand over his mouth as he began to cry. Everyone at the wedding was touched by this sweet gesture!

Christian and I got engaged on October 27, 2023, at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, exactly four years after we made our relationship official over brunch in the same place. While Christian originally planned to propose during a walk along the Bow River, he was far too excited (and maybe a little nervous) to wait. Instead, he popped the question right in our hotel room, making the moment feel intimate, unexpected, and perfectly us. We spent the rest of the weekend soaking it all in, just the two of us, before sharing the news with our families and friends. The very next morning, Christian woke up to find me already deep into researching venues and vendors for our big day. Banff had always held a special place in our hearts, but from that moment on, it became part of our love story.

Guests were welcomed into the celebration with a post-ceremony champagne toast, setting a relaxed yet refined tone for the evening ahead. Cocktail hour featured an elevated selection of canapés, including vegetarian spring rolls, prosciutto with tomato and bocconcini, bacon-wrapped scallops, and teriyaki steak bites. Dinner unfolded as a thoughtfully curated three-course experience, beginning with a bundle of mixed greens accented with avocado, mandarin, and poppy seed dressing. For the main course, guests chose between overnight braised beef short rib glazed with braising jus, chicken supreme with a vermouth and sage reduction, or butternut squash ravioli finished with cream sauce, pumpkin seeds, and tarragon oil. The evening concluded on a sweet note with classic carrot cake, the perfect finish to a warm, beautifully paced culinary experience. As the evening went on, guests sipped on margaritas for Christian, Pineapple gin collins for Sarah, and a special feature drink in honour of their sweet dog, Stella – Watermelon lemonade.

A custom curved aisle was created and lined with lush blue delphinium, offering a striking yet elegant moment that framed the ceremony beautifully. Following the vows, the aisle florals were thoughtfully repurposed and woven into the family-style guest tables, reinforcing a sense of continuity and sustainability in the design. Royal blue velvet chairs from Modern Rentals were selected to anchor the ceremony space and elevate the overall transformation with a bold, modern touch. In the reception, a curated mix of lamps and candlelight created a warm, romantic ambiance, while delicate orchid stems—added at Sarah’s request—brought softness and movement throughout. Orchids appeared in her bouquet, adorned the ceremony pillars, and trailed gracefully over the dance floor, adding a final layer of luxury and intention to the design.

Among their shared hobbies is a love for pickleball, which we thoughtfully wove into the design in a way that felt playful yet refined. Working with Holly of Holly Loves Paper, we created pickleball-inspired menus and escort cards that nodded to the sport’s graphic elements while seamlessly blending into the overall aesthetic. The result was a personalized, “pickleball-core” moment that felt intentional and cohesive, adding a layer of personality without disrupting the elegance of the paper goods or the day’s design.

A Puglian Wedding with Mediterranean Neutrals, and Nigerian Meets Danish Influences

Soft pastels layered with warm Mediterranean neutrals set the tone for the celebration. Blush, pale blue, lavender, and buttery yellow florals were paired with natural stone, olive green and candlelight, allowing the colours to feel romantic yet grounded in the Puglian landscape.

Simi and Morten envisioned a destination wedding that felt vibrant, intentional, and deeply personal. A celebration that honoured their Nigerian and Danish heritage while embracing the beauty and culture of the Italian coast. From olive groves to stone interiors and vineyard views, every moment was curated to feel immersive, celebratory, and unmistakably them.

Guests enjoyed market-style stalls featuring fresh seafood, local meats, and handmade pasta, followed by artisanal gelato. The wedding dinner featured a plated four-course meal served at long tables overlooking the sea, paired with regional wines and candlelight. Cocktail hour and the evening party featured expertly crafted drinks, while the final pool party embraced a relaxed Italian spirit with pizza, salads, gelato, and celebratory cocktails.

Pastel arrangements added warmth and contrast to the villa’s stone interiors, particularly during the indoor ceremony, where blooms popped beautifully against black Thonet chairs. Outdoor spaces were styled with long tables, wishbone chairs, candlelight, and subtle Danish design elements, creating a refined yet welcoming atmosphere that flowed seamlessly from day to night.

Danielle and Cory’s wedding was an intimate, romantic celebration rooted in the natural, organic aesthetic of The One Hotel in Miami Beach. Drawing inspiration from the venue’s warm textures and effortless elegance, they envisioned a celebration that felt personal, heartfelt, and centered on their marriage and their guests, rather than being showy or over the top.

Danielle and Cory met while in undergrad at the University of Florida. After eight years of dating, Cory decided that it was time to finally ask Danielle to marry him. They had spoken about getting engaged before, and both had the same vision – they wanted it to be a special and intimate moment where it was just the two of them. Cory decided that their summer vacation to Portugal would be the perfect opportunity to propose. While watching the sunrise before a hike in Madeira, Cory asked Danielle to marry him. The setting was absolutely breathtaking, and the moment could not have been more perfect. They enjoyed the rest of their vacation and celebrated with their family and friends once they were back in NYC.

At the reception, candlelight, soft draping, and floral-wrapped installations created warmth and intimacy, transforming the room into a romantic setting.

Danielle’s bouquet was a small yet very special detail of the wedding. Danielle attended a lot of weddings where the brides’ bouquets were large with various flowers. While these were beautiful, she wanted to do something different and unique. She opted for a petite bouquet made up of a bunch of blush wax flowers, which she also often used as filler flowers in her other floral arrangements. Cory wore a matching boutonniere. It was simple and didn’t take away from the other beautiful details in the wedding ceremony.

Unfortunately, Danielle lost both sets of grandparents at a young age. She wanted to honor and incorporate them in her wedding day, but wasn’t sure the best way to do so. Their Event Producer and Planner, Alicia Piacenti, suggested she purchase a memory locket to wrap around her bouquet. She surprised her parents with this detail, and they were beyond touched. They now have that same locket wrapped around a floral vase in their house.

Another detail the couple absolutely loved was the dinner menus. These were designed by Events by Elle’s Creative Director, Alex Paz. They created two menus with drawings of flowers from their floral arrangements and rotated these between each place setting. They also used these as name cards, which was a nice way to minimize the number of objects on the dinner tables.

An Ojai Valley Inn Wedding with Soft Greens, Citrus Tones, and Effortless Summer Romance

The result was a warm, intentional atmosphere that felt effortless and inviting, allowing guests to fully settle in and celebrate the entire evening.

What started as a simple date night turned into a full weekend of surprises at the Montage Hotel in Laguna Beach. We arrived early for a pre-dinner cocktail and a walk along the ocean path, and as the sun began to set, Grant led me to a quiet lawn overlooking the water where flowers and champagne were waiting. He proposed there with the ocean behind us while a photographer captured the moment. The night continued with a private dinner at the Montage, where both of our families were waiting, complete with our go-to wedding cocktail. After dinner, we were surprised again when all of our closest friends were waiting in the hotel lobby, and Grant had also planned for us to stay at the hotel that night. We ended the evening out in Laguna Beach before returning to the Montage, then spent the next day relaxing by the pool and soaking in our engagement together after a night filled with family, friends, and celebration.
