An Enchanted Forest Wedding in Naples with “More Is More” Energy

We truly embodied the enchanted forest with a mix of green tones in rich moss, forest green, and accents of a brighter chartreuse. To brighten these moodier tones, we brought shades of lavender, eggplant, and creams into the space through florals, menus, linens, and the dance floor.

From the bride: The vision for our reception, brought to life beautifully by our planner Carrie Darling, was to create the feeling of stepping into an enchanted forest. We imagined lush greenery and softly cascading florals framing the entrance, evoking a sense of discovery, as if the room had been quietly waiting to be found. Rich, mossy draping covered the walls, complemented by delicate blooms in shades of ivory, blush, and lavender. At the center, a circular bar overflowed with organic arrangements that felt abundant yet effortless. We loved the way the structured design elements, the modern ceiling, and tailored seating played against the wild, untamed florals, creating a magical tension between refined and romantic. Every detail was designed to be immersive and transportive: intimate yet grand, polished yet a little undone, like a secret garden brought to life for one unforgettable night. From the planner: We used a drape to “bring the walls in” and make the space feel less like a ballroom and more like your favorite, cozy restaurant. Guests entered through a makeshift hallway that built anticipation for when they turned the corner into the main room. Once they reached the reveal moment, guests were greeted by the drama of a 20-foot mini tree forest that guided them around the circular bar and into the main space. The layout also included several couches and banquettes to add soft seating to some of the dining tables, and piggyback on that intimate restaurant vibe. The rich mix of velvet green drapery, sharp chartreuse couches, and soft lavender florals was just a magical combination.

Byron proposed on our rooftop in Williamsburg in October of 2024, a night I’ll never forget. I thought we were simply heading out to dinner with a friend, with no idea he had something so special planned. As the sun set over the city, he got down on one knee in the most romantic surprise, and I couldn’t have been more excited to say yes. To make it even more meaningful, my parents flew in from Chicago and quietly snuck into our apartment during the proposal to decorate. Walking back in and seeing everything they had done made the moment feel even more perfect.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]After trying on more than 50 wedding dresses, I fell in love with a drop-waist ballgown by Leah Da Gloria. Adorned with intricate beaded lace, it struck the perfect balance between femininity and drama. It weighed nearly 20 pounds, so we had to buy it its own seat on the plane. For my second look, I stayed with Leah Da Gloria but went in a different direction, a bit sleeker and more modern. It was the perfect contrast to my ceremony gown, trading volume and embellishment for understated elegance.[/field]

I found the perfect bridesmaids’ dresses from V. Chapman. The soft slate blue was dreamy, and the delicate pattern gave off a distinctly Floridian vibe: light, airy, and effortlessly elegant. Each of my bridesmaids looked absolutely stunning, and the dresses complemented the wedding’s romantic, sun-soaked aesthetic perfectly.

The Main Entrees offered guests a choice of Braised Short Rib, Pan SearedSalmono,n or a Spinach & Cheese Ravioli. Featured drinks included the Aperol Spritz (for her) and the Old Fashioned (for him). At cocktail hour, Carrie Darling Events built a custom Spritz Cart to serve Aperol Spritz to the guests! It offered guests an alternative drink experience away from the main bar, dressed up in citrus colored stripes and florals.

The Brides Bouquet: We were definitely looking for that “more is more,” over-the-top moment for the bridal bouquet, and Kaleidoscope definitely hit that mark! Paige had an all-cymbidium orchid bouquet that was wired together in a cascade that reached all the way to the floor. It was an absolute showstopper! It was both sculptural and effortlessly fluid. Each bloom carried intricate detailing, from the soft veining in the petals to the deep magenta centers, creating dimension and movement with every step she took. It was bold without overwhelming, modern yet timeless, and brought a fresh, fashion-forward energy to her bridal look while still feeling refined and elevated against the classic setting.

The Frasier vanilla sponge cake with fresh strawberries and Grand Bavarian cream cake was provided by the Ritz-Carlton. This minimalistic, buttercream cake was simple, yet elegant – and dressed with textured blooms for a pop of color.

Because Byron and Paige first met in a speakeasy in Chicago, it felt only fitting to weave that part of their story into the after-party. As the reception came to a close, guests were led across the resort in a lively, parade-style procession, following the band’s saxophonist into an entirely transformed space. Behind closed curtains, a rich, velvety red room awaited—a striking contrast to the reception that came before. The space was layered with deep red draping and lush roses, creating a moody, immersive atmosphere reminiscent of a classic speakeasy. A mirrored bar stretched the length of the room, surrounded by modern high-top tables, velvet lounges, and playful details like oversized playing cards featuring a “P” for Paige and a “B” for Byron. As guests stepped inside and espresso martinis began to flow, the DJ took over for the next two hours, with everyone fully leaning into the energy of the night and soaking up every last moment.

To bring a touch of Italy to our celebration in Naples, our planner, Carrie Darling, created a custom “Spritz Bar,” a detail that felt both personal and effortlessly chic. [/field]

My late Uncle Jimmy was a professional saxophonist, and the instrument has always held a special place in our family’s heart. To honor him, we had a saxophonist with us throughout the night, playing with the band, None Other, during the reception and later joining the DJ in the after-party, filling the evening with a vibrant, soulful energy that felt both personal and unforgettable.

A Romantic Villa del Balbianello Wedding Inspired by the Beauty of the Italian Lakes

A love letter to timeless romance, this Lake Como wedding unfolded against one of Italy’s most breathtaking landscapes. With the lake holding deep personal meaning, the couple envisioned an intimate celebration that felt effortlessly elegant—where the water, mountains, and storied villa shape the aesthetic. Every detail was chosen to enhance the natural beauty surrounding them, allowing the setting to speak for itself. The result is a celebration that feels both refined and deeply romantic—where old-world charm lingers, and each moment unfolds with a sense of intimacy, softness, and lasting beauty.

The question “How did you meet?” really depends on who you ask. Anthony would say their story began in the summer of 2017 in Charlotte, North Carolina. He needed a roommate, and Katie, in town for an internship, needed a place to stay. A mutual friend connected them, and the rest is history. But Katie remembers it differently. She’d say they actually met two years earlier at a business school event at the University of South Carolina—and that she thought he was cute. So when she realized who her summer roommate would be, it felt like fate was stepping in. That summer, they bonded over bowling and cocktails, late-night scooter rides around Charlotte, and a shared sense of fun that followed them wherever they went. After Katie graduated, their relationship deepened in New York, brought closer by their love of travel, food, and, of course, more bowling. In 2022, they took a leap and moved to Miami—once again becoming roommates, this time with a few more memories and a lot more love. In October 2023, Anthony surprised Katie with a birthday trip to her favorite city, Paris. Though she had a feeling something special might be coming, he managed to keep her guessing. On the morning of the proposal, he mentioned they were meeting a work colleague for breakfast, encouraging her to dress up—but when he told her to look “angelic” for the occasion, Katie couldn’t help but grow a little suspicious. Wandering through the Latin Quarter, the two made their way to the Luxembourg Gardens, where, in front of the iconic Medici Fountain, Anthony asked Katie to be his forever, bringing her rom-com dreams to life.

It was an unexpected but perfect choice after originally envisioning something more understated, but the bride felt the gown perfectly fit the fairytale venue. After dinner, she changed into a sleek silk Danielle Frankel gown, switching to sparkly Jimmy Choo heels for the dance floor.

Dinner followed with a seated service of cacio e pepe risotto and perfectly prepared filet with scalloped potatoes—an elegant nod to classic Italian flavors—paired with Montepulciano for red and Gavi for white. For dessert, a generous spread accompanied the wedding cake, featuring dark chocolate mousse, cannolis, and tiramisu. As the night carried on, late-night pizza was brought straight to the dance floor, keeping the celebration lively and delicious well into the evening.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The ceremony was framed by soft, garden-inspired florals in delicate whites and greens, designed to feel like a field of wildflowers had naturally sprouted along the aisle, rather than something overly styled. The bride and Gionata collaborated with the florist to create cascading columns of delicate blooms, designed to feel as though they were growing naturally from the aisle all the way up the ivy-covered loggia, enveloping the ceremony in a garden-like romance.

For dinner, the pair embraced understated elegance across two long tables, where single-stem white roses and flickering candlelight created a clean, romantic rhythm. A patterned tablecloth of green florals and butterflies added a hint of color, bringing a bit of personality to the setting.[/field]

One of the evening’s highlights was the traditional Italian millefoglie wedding cake, layered with fresh strawberries—the groom’s proudest contribution. Guests couldn’t stop raving about it, with many going back for seconds (and even thirds).

Anthony’s father passed away in 2021, and honoring him throughout the day was deeply important to them. Katie had planned a meaningful detail—a custom Ralph Lauren tuxedo with a surprise inscription sewn into the lining—but just days before the wedding, they were told the tux had been lost in transit. What followed was a last-minute pivot that became something even more personal. Katie discovered an Etsy artist who created custom embroidered patches with printed photographs and, in an incredible act of kindness, agreed to rush the order. The patch, featuring a photo of Anthony’s father, was sewn into the lining of his replacement tuxedo just in time. When Anthony put it on and saw it for the first time, it was an emotional moment—an intimate reminder that his father was there with him, held close to his heart.

A Colorful Boca Grande Wedding That Reimagined Coastal Tradition at Gasparilla Inn

I had my dream wedding planned since I was a little girl, especially since we had been visiting and later bought a home in Boca Grande in 2008. My original Pinterest board was very Nancy Meyers coded with lots of whites and blues, but after we got engaged, I really started looking through all the sections of my board, and I began to change my mind on many things because it looked like all the other weddings that had taken place there. I did not want my wedding to look like all the rest, so I moved toward adding more color, like having all the bars and pieces at cocktail hour be hot pink and having different-colored bars, linens, and bar signs.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Andrew proposed Easter weekend and completely surprised me. Every year, my family spends Easter out at our family ranch, and it was always my dream to get proposed to there because of my grandfather. My little sister, Madeleine, called Andrew when she found out he was looking at rings to plan the proposal. A tradition in my family is that we have a big crawfish boil on Saturday, and they use my mom to distract me by having me help her assemble the Easter baskets for all the kids. I got so distracted by doing the Easter baskets, because my mom is so completely unorganized, that I never noticed the hints around me like my mom trying to get me to put on one of the white dresses that she brought “to put into one of the easter baskets for my sisters” or that my older sister was in a cute romper or when my little sister kept asking me what I was going to wear and even had me start trying on some of her clothes. Our crawfish boil was usually super casual, so I was confused about why everyone was acting so weird and dressing up a bit more, but everyone made sure I was so preoccupied with something that my brain never caught up. Andrew, his brother Chris, and my little sister Maddie had come up with the plan to convince me to go on a ride to the back pasture with them and Elliot to go and spread corn for hog hunting. Right before we were leaving I was sitting on the front porch with Andrew laughing and he told me he was going to go change his shirt before we left to go the back pasture and I said to him “I really thought that you were going to propose this weekend since we were at the ranch and all of my siblings were there” he proceeded to tell me that it wasn’t happening this weekend because the ring wasn’t ready. He walked away, trying to hide his laughter because he was going to grab the ring. We then proceeded to go to the back and stopped in the middle of all these wild yellow flowers and I said that we should take a family picture and so we started walking out and I still had no clue because I was talking and trying to figure out which side Elliot should be on and then all of a sudden I could not see Andrew out of the corner of my eye so I turned and there he was down on one knee and I was so shocked and excited.[/field]

Some of my favorite details were the florals at each event, but specifically the altar and the flowers that were in the pool at the house events. At the reception, I loved our dance floor vinyl, the chandeliers, and all of our bar signs. The escort wall was everything I had dreamed it would be.

The wedding cake was a 5-tier white buttercream cake covered in a cascade of blue and white fresh hydrangeas. The flavors were pink champagne with raspberry jam filling and chocolate cake with vanilla pastry cream filling. The groom’s cake was a Yeti cooler with fish and nods to Andrew’s favorite things.

A Colorful South Florida Wedding Defined by Contrast, Personality, and Coastal Beauty

This design began as an exploration rather than a defined vision. Our bride had an incredibly intuitive sense of what she loved, but struggled to articulate it in traditional design language. She was drawn to color, texture, and personality — yet resisted anything that felt overly themed, predictable, or confined to a single aesthetic. She didn’t want “bohemian,” “classic,” or “modern” — she wanted something that felt like a reflection of her, even if it didn’t have a name. To uncover that, we approached the process as a study in contrast. We developed two initial design directions that intentionally pushed into different territories — each helping to define what wasn’t right. Through that process, we discovered the boundaries of her taste: she loved warmth without heaviness, color without chaos, and detail without excess. That clarity allowed the final design to emerge as a thoughtful balance — layered, expressive, and entirely her own. Set against the natural beauty of the Gulf, the ceremony felt organic yet elevated. A custom-built platform wrapped in rich green tile grounded the space, while abundant florals in vibrant pinks, soft corals, and fresh greens grew naturally around it — creating the feeling of a garden that had formed effortlessly along the shoreline. The structured aisle and tailored seating kept the look intentional, allowing the florals to feel artful rather than untamed. The reception shifted into a more intimate, curated atmosphere. Ultimately, this wedding wasn’t about adhering to a specific style — it was about creating a feeling. The result was a space that felt collected rather than decorated, expressive without being overwhelming, and deeply personal without needing to explain itself. It reflected a bride who didn’t fit into a category — and a design that didn’t try to.

Guests were welcomed with signature cocktails—a spicy margarita and a classic old-fashioned—before enjoying passed bites of seared ahi tuna served in crisp wonton cups, finished with herbs and edible florals. Dinner began with a strawberry burrata salad with wild greens, roasted pistachios, fresh berries, and balsamic, followed by an entrée of glazed miso sea bass with baby bok choy and jasmine rice. The evening concluded with a wedding cake featuring white chocolate cake, vanilla mousse, and salted caramel buttercream—simple, elevated, and perfectly in step with the tone of the day.

The bar became a focal point with its scalloped tile-inspired pattern in layered shades of pink, echoing the architectural motifs seen throughout the design. Lounge moments were intentionally styled with mixed textiles and patterned pillows, creating spaces that felt relaxed, inviting, and slightly unexpected.[/field]

Instead of a traditional guest book, they brought in a vintage-style phone that let guests leave voicemails throughout the night—and it was such a vibe. People kept sneaking away to record messages, from quick “we love you” notes to hilarious, late-night commentary. It felt fun, nostalgic, and totally in line with the energy of the weekend, giving them something way more personal (and entertaining) to listen back to later.

It felt almost like a runway moment, where all eyes naturally centered on the couple, blending fashion-forward design with a relaxed, coastal setting.[/field]

Tian and Elliott envisioned a wedding that felt both elevated and effortlessly joyful — a celebration that embraced the romance of Tuscany while weaving in vibrant Mediterranean elements. The overall design was inspired by the natural surroundings: rolling vineyards, expansive blue skies, and the golden warmth of an Italian summer afternoon. The aesthetic balanced timeless European elegance with playful citrus-infused details. Soft whites and airy blues created a refined foundation, while pops of orange and fresh greenery added depth and personality. The ceremony was designed to feel immersive and organic, allowing the panoramic landscape to serve as a breathtaking backdrop rather than competing with it. For the reception, the vision evolved into an intimate Tuscan garden dinner beneath wooden pergolas adorned with greenery and woven lanterns. Patterned blue linens reminiscent of Italian ceramics, layered textured plates, citrus trees as living centerpieces, and abundant florals created a setting that felt curated yet natural — luxurious, but never excessive. Crisp pastry sheets were stacked with delicate cream and fresh berries, creating a dessert that felt both elegant and authentically Italian. The cinematic build created a powerful and emotional atmosphere, setting a meaningful tone before the wedding party made their entrance. The wedding party processed down the aisle to “Hey Soul Sister” by Train, bringing an uplifting and joyful energy that reflected the couple’s playful spirit. Tian made her entrance to “Halo” by Beyoncé, beginning at the very start of the song — a moment that felt both powerful and romantic as the music swelled and framed her walk down the aisle against the Tuscan hills. Following the ceremony, the recessional song was “Home” by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, encouraging guests to clap and celebrate as the newlyweds walked back down the aisle surrounded by cheers. For the grand entrance at dinner, Tian and Elliott chose “Rather Be” by Clean Bandit, which seamlessly transitioned into their first dance. The upbeat tempo allowed the moment to feel both celebratory and intimate, blending the excitement of their entrance with the romance of their first dance. During the cake cutting — a live millefoglie show-cooking moment — “That’s Amore” played, adding a playful and unmistakably Italian touch as the couple assembled their dessert alongside the chef. Instead of a traditional father-daughter dance, Tian shared a special dance with her mother, Linda, in honor of her father, who was unable to attend for health reasons. At the same time, Elliott danced with his mother, Beverly, to “Dancing in the Moonlight” by King Harvest — creating a deeply meaningful and beautifully balanced moment for both families.

The formal destination wedding weekend then began with a welcome dinner the evening before the ceremony, allowing guests to settle in, reconnect, and experience the warmth of Italian hospitality. The celebration continued the day after the wedding with a relaxed farewell pool party, where everyone gathered once more under the Tuscan sun to unwind and extend the joy a little longer. Altogether, it became more than a wedding — it was a full week of love, friendship, and shared memories, intentionally designed to feel immersive and meaningful for everyone who traveled to be part of it.

As a wedding planner, I have seen 100’s of dresses, so I wanted to get a dress that was unique to me. Shopping for a dress that I haven’t seen before was a challenge! I went to 4 bridal shops before deciding on my perfect ceremony dress. It was actually the first dress I tried on, but something was missing about it the first time around, and after visiting the 3 other bridal shops and trying on many dresses, I realized I just needed to remove the long sleeves on the first dress. So I returned to Alyona’s bridal shop, and they were able to alter my dress. I ended up with two “Pronovias” dresses. My ceremony look was completed with an updo by Roniann Mears, and I wore a beautiful sparkly ballgown with a stunning train. Hollywood waves & a form-fitting dress made for my sexier, elegant second look for the reception. My husband gifted me a beautiful diamond necklace and earrings for my wedding gift, and that complemented perfectly with the 2 dresses.

Catering provided by Castle Catering. Cocktail hour passed, and appetizers were inspired by my Korean heritage & our Italian cocktail hour theme. The menu consisted of Shrimp Cocktail Shooters, Korean Beef Canapes, Cream Cheese Arancini Bites, Fried Risotto paired with House Marinara & a live build-your-own-bruschetta action station. Dinner plated menu started with an autumn salad – Arugula & Mixed Greens, Roasted Butternut Squash, Spiced Washington Apples, Shaved Radish, Candied Walnuts, Goat Cheese Crumbles, Maple Vinaigrette. Guests had a choice of: Sous Vide Tenderloin of Beef w/Cognac Peppercorn Cream or Tender Grilled Chicken Thigh w/zesty Yakima Peach & Garden Basil Pesto at the table. Vegetarian entree option: Mediterranean Falafel ~ Crispy Falafel crafted from Chickpeas & Aromatic Herbs and a House Blend of Spices, finished with Chimichurri, Paired with a Cucumber Salad. The desserts were specially made by a private chef who formerly worked at one of our favorite restaurants in Yakima. We love their special seasoned Yakima Peach creme brûlées, so she replicated it at our wedding, and the peaches were provided by our dear friends who own a peach farm. The large peaches made for the cups for the delicious creamy delights.

Flew in one of our florists from Hawaii that I have worked with throughout the years – Belle De Jour Florals. They did a fabulous job! Ceremony destination inspo~ Santorini, in Greece. Pristine white to represent the architecture and bold blues to represent the deep blue waters of Santorini. A full, luxury floral design on a square arch served as the dramatic and romantic backdrop for us as we exchanged our vows. It was the perfect statement piece in front of the stunning Oakshire estate. Cocktail hour destination inspo~ Positano, Italy. Themed “La Dolce Vita,” which translates to “the good life” in Italian, was held at the Knight’s garden. A statue of a knight in shining armor overlooked the grounds to complement the fairytale romance theme. Cocktail hour vibe was playful and celebratory. A fun “La Dolce Vita” photo backdrop, a live trio, royal blue lounge furniture, cheerful yellow roses, and lemon decor completed the sun-soaked spirit of Positano. Dinner Reception destination inspo ~ Paris, France. Our floor plan consisted of a mixture of long King tables and round tables. The round tables in the reception space featured elegant compote arrangements designed to feel soft, romantic, ic and complementary to the more dramatic hydrangea table runners on the long tables. The centerpieces were composed in a loose and airy style, evoking the charm of a French garden, designed in chic and romantic white compote vases. The palette highlighted light blues and whites with subtle accents of soft peach for warmth and depth. The long King tables were adorned with dramatic, full floral runners designed to make a striking statement. Composed entirely of soft blue hydrangea, the runners cascaded gracefully toward the ends of each table, creating a delicate, cloud-like effect. The floral runners were dense and full for a dramatic and lush feeling. This lush and ethereal design brought a romantic, immersive atmosphere to the reception space, providing a seamless and cohesive transition from the ceremony florals to the celebration that followed. Vintage lounge furniture, a custom-designed monogram bar front paired with a sheer linen backdrop, bold chandeliers & a variety of toile & vintage tableware completed the vibe.

The wedding cake was provided by Kerri’s cake. Kerri masterfully created a beautiful Parisian vintage three-tier cake with our monogram and designs of gold florals and butterflies throughout. Fresh florals embellished the 3 tier cake.

Our ceremony music was provided by Elizabeth Landis, a harpist based in Seattle. My husband’s two nephews performed a song for us at our reception. The band surprised my husband with a live Grateful Dead show, since he is a die-hard fan!

Nick and I are high school sweethearts! Having known each other since we were 14 and 15 years old, we’ve truly grown up together. We’ve gone through many seasons of life as a couple, including years of long distance while I was in law school and Nick was in dental school. That time apart taught us resilience, patience, and how to cheer each other on from afar—qualities that came to define our relationship before marriage. Nick proposed on our favorite street in New York City while we were living there. He got down on one knee in the middle of the street in the rain. It was so New York. For the welcome party, I wore a white and red Valentino dress that carried a subtle, Mexico-inspired energy. For the rehearsal dinner, I chose a romantic white Rodarte dress with classic Magda Butrym heels. I began the wedding day in an Olivia von Halle robe, which doubled as my “something blue”. My gown was Vera Wang, which I paired with Jimmy Choo heels. My dress was simple yet extremely intricate, designed to be appreciated by those with an eye for detail. My choice was somewhat polarizing at first; my mom even told me she didn’t like it when I tried it on. But seeing it on me that day, she admitted she had been wrong. It made me feel completely myself. My favorite piece was my veil, which was a custom design I created in collaboration with Monvieve. It felt deeply personal; it was really a piece of wearable art that completed the look. After dinner, I changed into a colorful mini dress by Clio Peppiatt, embellished with oceanic designs. The night of the wedding, guests dined on locally sourced seafood, delicate ceviches, and beef filet. We brought out late-night bites for our guests to enjoy on the dance floor at the after-party. We came up with our signature cocktails–a mezcal-based drink and a cucumber gin drink–with the help of the mixologist at our venue, One&Only Palmilla. The drinks were originally intended to be “his and hers,” but we couldn’t agree on whose was whose, so we left them unassigned. Everything was delicious!

Each piece made its way from Italy to Cabo thanks to our planner, Bonnie, who personally transported the boxes from Italy to Cabo. To honor Nick’s Greek roots, we included koufeta (traditional Jordan almonds) and our favorite homemade koulourakia cookies baked by his mother.

What are some of your favorite moments of the wedding weekend? Walking down the aisle toward Nick was a moment suspended in time for me. Later, when the dance floor came alive, it was pure joy for hours. Another favorite moment from the weekend was Nick’s speech at the rehearsal dinner. We didn’t do personal vows in our ceremony, so he made sure to tell me how he feels in front of our family and friends, which meant a lot.

A Dark Green Velvet Wedding Inspired by Southern Roots and West Village Charm

Dark green velvet was used throughout the weekend- from tablecloths at our welcome party through to the napkins at the reception. This is a color/texture combo that feels so me- it’s my favorite way to add color, but keeping a natural feel. It’s evident throughout our home, so it only made sense to pull this into our wedding design as well.

We pulled inspiration from the places that shaped us — a nod to our Southern roots, layered with the warm, low-lit feel of a bistro in New York’s West Village, where we’ve built our life together. In August 2024, we flew to Europe to watch one of Charlie’s close friends compete in track and field at the Paris Olympics. After a few days in the city, we headed to the South of France to meet two of our best friends and stay at her family’s beach house. After a few well-placed white lies about why every beach club was suddenly booked, she suggested we spend the afternoon wine tasting at a nearby vineyard. It turned out to be part of the plan all along: Charlie proposed at Château Barbeyrolles, with the stunning vineyard as the backdrop. Their rosé has since become one of our favorites and made its way into all of our summer wedding events.

My wedding dress was silk taffeta by Dana Harel, one of my favorite fabrics, and I loved the organic, unstructured skirt. I wanted to incorporate that effect in other design elements, and we actually did the tablecloth with our table escort cards, inspired by the skirt of the dress. All of my jewelry was from the closest women in my family- I wore my mom’s earrings, my grandmother’s tennis bracelets, and my aunt’s earrings for the afterparty.

Our favorite restaurant on the property, River House, has a drink on the menu called “The Screened Porch,” but Charlie always gets it with gin instead of the vodka it’s typically made with. The waiters have even joked about calling his version “The Charlie!”[/field]

For flowers, I drew inspiration from the fluid, cascading lines of Lowcountry Spanish moss, a detail that’s always felt deeply romantic and tied to our time in Savannah with Charlie’s family. I wanted that same organic movement to shape the florals throughout the weekend. My personal bouquet was pure white orchids, which have such a beautiful cascade, and we tied orchids into the florals throughout. For our welcome party, a laid-back fall Lowcountry boil and oyster roast with a bluegrass band, I kept the florals sculptural and monochromatic. Dahlias and mums were the perfect seasonal touch. Charlie’s mom also owns a home design store in our hometown, so a lot of the Southern-inspired prints and textures we used were influenced by her style and the fabrics in her store, like the crane-print linens at our welcome party and the Magnolia wallpaper behind the reception bar. My personal favorite design detail was the “Feldner” bistro tile inlaid in the tent flooring- inspired by our favorite cocktail bar in our neighborhood, Dante.

Charlie and I are each very close with our Aunts, so each of them gave a reading during the ceremony. The pastor was a family friend of Charlie’s stepmom.

One detail our guests especially loved was the handwritten, personal notes we used in place of traditional escort cards. Throughout the night and even after the wedding, so many guests told us how meaningful those notes felt, especially since it’s impossible to have long, personal moments with everyone on the day itself. The entire wedding was so special, but our ceremony was my favorite. I felt so present and connected to Charlie, and our vows to each other made the experience feel very sacred and special. The ceremony is truly the inflection point between your separate lives and your life together as a married couple, and we both definitely felt that tangible shift through our vows and rituals. We use my parents’ unity candle to create another element of intention.

A Dramatically Draped Oregon Wedding Designed for Celebration at Tetherow Resort

The couple chose to dramatically transform the venue with ethereal, elevated textural draping and organic floral elements. They did not have much direction and trusted fully in the expertise of Katy Kamali from Bridal Bliss. The bride’s love of the color black played a central role, lending a moody tone to many elements, such as the bouquet and guest attire. The couple’s vision was to create a weekend full of celebration and joy. Their goal was to showcase Central Oregon to their friend and family and ensure everyone had the best time of their lives. It was a wedding, yes, but above all, it was a party, a celebration of the joy of two lives becoming one.

The groom’s mom (Tom’s mom) hosts a gathering every summer in Portland, and he brings the bride (Allie) every year. This year, Tom’s mom mentioned that she had a lot to do and asked Tom and Allie to leave for a bit so she wouldn’t be overwhelmed. Tom then made a reservation for a wine tour at Domaine Willamette. When they arrived, the host asked for their jackets because it was so hot, but Tom refused to give his up until Allie made him. As they waited for the tour to begin, Tom decided to pop the question. To which Allie, of course, said yes, but cried profusely during the entire tour. Once they returned to Tom’s mom’s house, they were greeted with a surprise from Allie’s family. Their annual summer gathering turned into a full engagement party where both families celebrated together.

For the outdoor ceremony, we leaned into an all-white floral palette, designing with rare and premium blooms arranged in intentional groupings to create sculptural impact. The true showstopper was the bridal bouquet, a dramatic composition centered around black calla lilies, accented with delicate white nerines that felt like bursts of fireworks dancing among the callas. For the reception, we deepened the palette with subtle notes of black, allowing lush floral installations to emerge from behind soft cream drapery. The result was immersive, refined, and completely transformative.

A Modern Winery Wedding with Soft Rose and Sage Details

The overall vision for this styled shoot was refined, approachable luxury. Rustic Roots Winery, a fairly new venue in Minnesota, upgraded its event space with a large window-wall frame tent that inspired us to design something more luxe than the tent weddings often hosted in northern Minnesota (not many venues in our market offer this tent style). We embraced a modern-luxe-garden-party aesthetic by blending the feeling of a light and airy outdoor wedding with romantic vintage accents such as the patterned linen and crystal glassware, and bold modern details like drapery and a checkered dance floor. HappiLily Events drew inspiration for the design from the Cora Rosewood linen from BBJ, which features a floral print that distinctly blends old-fashioned elegance and modern appeal. We pulled color inspiration from this linen, leaning into soft shades of greens and subtle rose tones in the overall design, paired with creamy ivory, sandstone, and taupe for a classic feel. All of the dramatic, luxurious elements we brought in were balanced by the natural beauty of the surrounding vineyard, and the result felt both ethereal and regal.

For bridal styling, our model wore two high-society-inspired gowns from Ivory Bridal Co., both designed by Divine Atelier. We chose each dress because the designs felt both classic and couture. Our bride wore the gown Miller for the ceremony. This dress felt light and ethereal, perfect for a vineyard setting. The dress featured a fit-and-flare silhouette with a V-neck, airy tulle sleeves, and an alluring cut-out just above the belly button. The reception gown was Danielle’s. This gown brought more drama and sultry flair, with an off-the-shoulder sweetheart neckline and a sleek skirt with elegant ruching and a dramatic leg slit.

The design came to life through an abundance of lush, colorful florals, balanced with statement details like dark green velvet drapery, elegant chandeliers, and a checkered dance floor. Floral arrangements were designed by June, and Jane Flower Co. Many of the flowers used were grown on their own flower farm and sourced locally. For a super chic, garden party vibe, florals featured pops of pinks and soft apricot, along with brighter greenery. To balance the more whimsical and colorful florals in the event design, the bouquet and boutonniere were kept classic and elegant, consisting only of white orchids. Tables were designed to feel like a garden in full bloom. The head table featured tightly spaced compote bowls, which created the look of a fluffy garland with lots of natural movement and height. The combination of lush florals and greenery was intentionally designed to feel wild, whimsical, and sophisticated at the same time. We mixed in a variety of votives, taper candles,s and pillar candles in rose pink, ivory, and sandstone to complete the centerpieces. Rather than competing with the patterned table linen, the florals and candles played into the color palette perfectly and brightened the look. Place settings featured rentalwares from BBJ La Tavola, Apres Party, and Linen Effects. Vintage-inspired plateware featured a subtle floral pattern that enhanced the garden party aesthetic, and cut-crystal glassware perfectly reflected the light. Striped napkins on the head table felt fresh and fun, while guest table napkins matched the head table linen for a cohesive look. The overhead chandeliers and drapery from We’ve Got It Covered added warmth and created a sense of intimacy within the grand space. Paper goods, designed by St. Croix Designs, echoed the overall aesthetic with shades of pink and green in tasteful stripe patterns and floral prints. The delightful balance between patterns created an elegant and playful aesthetic, perfectly suited to our luxe-garden-party vision!

The cake was a true focal point of our design! Hey there, Cupcake designed a tower wedding cake that stood taller than the couple. With six oversized tiers, the cake felt both architectural and romantic. We incorporated the cake into the overall design by staging it on a round platform, accented by bright florals and earthy greenery. With the already dramatically tall cake and the added height of the platform, the cake became a statement in the design.

Our ceremony was set on a pedestal stage surrounded by florals and a backdrop of billowing drapery, which felt very ethereal and romantic. The statement floral urns felt timelessly elegant and alluded to classic luxury.

Sheer white drapery framed the tent’s main entrance, giving a soft and romantic feel to the space. As you enter the reception tent, your eye catches the dramatic green velvet drapery that frames the couple’s chairs at the head table. Dark green may be considered a more “risky” shade for design, especially in such a heavy element like drapery, but paired with lighter-colored linens and brightened with chandeliers, it truly added a luxurious and sophisticated touch to the design! Tables were set with cane back chairs, black and white patterned dinnerware and gold flatware to emphasize the classic aesthetic of the day. The couple added personal touches with the [/field]

One afternoon, Dalton decided to take his motorcycle out and explore a few local breweries in San Diego. He grabbed a seat at the bar and quickly found himself in conversation with the woman across from him, who happened to be Sarah’s Aunt Jennifer.
Within minutes, Jennifer was asking him just about everything, determined to get the full picture of who he was & what he was about. Then came the question she had clearly been building toward: “Are you single?” Slightly caught off guard, Dalton told her he was.
That simple answer set Jennifer’s real plan in motion, introducing him to her niece, Sarah. He gave her his number, Sarah worked up the confidence to reach out, and they connected right away.

Personal Proposal story from Sarah: “After a few hiccups in the secret keeping process and Dalton’s excitement getting the best of him, I accidentally found out almost every detail of the proposal, even down to the exact day. Somehow, it still felt completely magical and more perfect than I could have imagined.

The day started with one of our favorite things, playing cards. Dalton kept joking, “Winner gets engaged!” and somehow, we both won.

From there, he took me to Windansea Beach, where he proposed with a bottle of bubbly waiting for us. Afterward, we celebrated with a catamaran ride with our families, which made it all feel even more meaningful. The day ended with a surprise engagement party at my parents’ home in Del Mar, complete with a taco truck, and it truly felt like the most joyful, perfectly us kind of celebration.”[/field]

Under the guise of a quick glass of wine on the beach before dinner at one of her favorite local restaurants, the bride suggested a sunset stop by the water to celebrate the start of summer.

As they arrived with wine in hand, the bride noticed a beautifully arranged setup in the sand and commented on how special it was that someone might be getting proposed to – even suggesting they sit nearby to witness the moment. In a perfectly timed twist, she soon realized the proposal she was admiring was her own.[/field]

Arl and Amanda’s love story began in a place characterized by its ability to create and foster passionate romances, known to many as “high school.” The beginning of their story is full of gems of teenage awkwardness, like taking each other to dances, driving each other to get #2 pencils the night before standardized testing, and overstaying their welcome at places like Dos Coyotes or Wing Stop. After spending so much time together, Earl realized on Super Bowl Sunday in 2014 that he had quite a catch, so it was prime time to “put a label on it” and ask Amanda to officially be his girlfriend. The two of them began to be inseparable during the rest of their time in high school, and they created great memories together along with friends and family. Who knew Eagles could be love birds? Earl went off to play football in college on the East Coast, and Amanda went off to school a year later at the “H*rvard of the West” in Chico. Whatever you’ve heard about long-distance relationships being difficult is baloney! All you have to do is fly to the opposite side of the country to visit your partner once a month, maximize time together during holiday breaks, stay up to talk to your partner who’s three hours behind every night, have Edible Arrangements and Flower.com coupons on hand at all times, and get really, really really efficient at airport goodbyes before they tell you to move your car. Easy peasy. When not thinking about each other, Earl and Amanda otherwise spent time in college preparing for their future careers. Amanda had her sights set on being a teacher and entering a credential program, and Earl had his sights set on medical school. They supported each other’s endeavors the whole way, even and especially when apart. (You just said “aww,” didn’t you ;-) After college, Amanda entered into a teaching credential program and subsequently began teaching near home in Folsom, CA. Earl began medical school in Chicago around the same time, entering his Midwest Era. Amanda was crushing it in the classroom, winning district awards and setting up the youth of America for success. Earl, not to be outdone, joined a flag football league, rediscovered his love for deep dish pizza, and finished The Wire. Fortunately for Earl, Amanda was able to visit Chicago several times, and they were able to continue to add memories and new experiences to their love story. Chicago will always be a special chapter in Amanda and Earl’s story. After a few years of visiting Earl, Amanda was able to move to the Windy City. Finally, the two of them were again living in the same place. Whether it was exploring Logan Square, trying new restaurants (s/o Mi Tocaya and Ramen Wasabi; iykyk), laughing their tails off at Second City, spending time with friends, sharing the tradition of Malört, taking visitors to the Bean, taking visitors to the Bean, or taking visitors to the Bean, they loved every second of their time together. Just don’t ask Amanda about the winter. After 20th grade, Earl finally got a job. He and Amanda moved together to San Francisco to write their next chapter. In the city, Amanda teaches 4th grade, and Earl is a pediatrician. Having created years and years of memories and shared countless laughs, Earl decided to make the easiest decision of his life: to ask Amanda to marry him. June 30th, 202,3 was a beautiful day. Earl had spent months planning and coordinating with friends and family, and Amanda had no idea. He had figured out when and where to pick up the ring, and she had no idea. He had chosen a perfect spot and found a photographer for the occasion, and—even then—she had no idea. But the “one time” he picks out an outfit without her input to head to a surprise dinner reservation, and suddenly she knows something’s up… They leave together, er and Amanda has the cutest, knowingest smile on her face the whole way there. They arrive at the Palace of Fine Arts. They get to the perfect spot. She says yes, he gets down on one knee, she says yes, he asks, she says yes again and again and again. (It really happened in this order lol proposal nerves are *crazy*!) Skip a few pages forward, and we get to the present. We’re planning the wedding of our dreams and reminiscing about all the amazing times and incredible people who’ve been so important in our story. It was really important to both of us that our wedding felt timeless and classic — the kind of day we could look back on twenty years from now without cringing at a single design decision. We steered away from anything too trendy and instead leaned into lavish florals, soft drapery, and subtle personal touches that told our story. Some of our favorite details included cocktail napkins featuring our dog Archie, a Taylor Swift quote reading “At Every Table I’ll Save You A Seat” on our seating chart, and our honeymoon destinations used in place of traditional table numbers.

Taylor had been planning to propose during our New Year’s trip to Laguna Beach — but the universe had other plans! We both came down with a terrible bout of food poisoning on the first night, leaving us completely out of commission for three days. So when it finally happened, I was completely caught off guard.

Once we recovered, Taylor convinced me to take a walk down to the beach. It was there, on a private stretch of sand called Victoria Beach, that he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. The fact that it happened on a beach named Victoria made the moment feel even more meaningful.[/field]

I originally had my heart set on something sleek and fitted, but after trying on countless gowns in that silhouette, I still hadn’t had my “it’s the one” moment. My mom gently nudged me to try an A-line satin gown — and the second I stepped out in it, I knew. I immediately felt like a bride. Moms really do know best! That said, I still wanted to honor my original instinct for something more fitted, so I chose a second dress by New White for the reception. It was form-fitting throughout, but had the most romantic tulle detailing — that included off-the-shoulder sleeves, a flowing overskirt, and an ethereal illusion back. It felt fashion-forward and fun while still nodding to classic bridal style, and the soft movement of the tulle beautifully mimicked a veil throughout the entire evening.

The day began with glasses of rosé as guests arrived at the estate and were welcomed into the relaxed elegance of the setting before being ushered to the back lawn for the ceremony. Following the vows, guests gathered at the iconic Azuridge gazebo for cocktail hour, where canapés were passed alongside champagne and a signature Empress Gin–based gin and tonic named after the couple’s beloved dog, Archie. As the evening unfolded, guests transitioned into a beautifully chiffon-draped open-air tent for a plated three-course dinner beneath the soft glow of candlelight. After dinner, the celebration continued indoors, where guests danced the night away.

The florals will be heavily focused on white peonies, roses, and baby’s breath. Overall structure of bouquets and centrepieces to be a bit more classic & rounded, with installation elements feeling a bit more modern and whimsical.

Taylor and I both feel strongly that music sets the emotional tone of an entire day, so we were very intentional with every choice. For the ceremony, we hired a string quartet — but with a twist. Rather than traditional classical pieces, we asked them to perform modern songs our guests would subtly recognize, giving the whole ceremony a Bridgerton-meets-romance feel that our guests absolutely loved. For our key musical moments, we drew inspiration from the iconic rom-com soundtracks of our childhood. We concluded our ceremony as husband and wife for the very first time to “Got to Be Real” by Cheryl Lynn — it was the perfect joyful sendoff to close out the ceremony. We then made our grand entrance into the reception to “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” by Natalie Cole, setting the tone for the celebration ahead. And for our first dance, we chose the timeless “At Last” by Etta James. These are songs we genuinely listen to on Sunday mornings while making breakfast together, so they felt deeply authentic to us as a couple. For the reception, we wanted to party! We’ve been to countless weddings where the dance floor fizzled out early due to jarring genre switches or slow-tempo detours, and we were determined not to let that happen. We gave our DJ one directive: keep the energy high and the floor packed all night. No “Sweet Caroline,” no slow songs — just nonstop, club-energy music from start to finish. Our wedding planner also gave us the most brilliant piece of advice: never leave the dance floor, because the moment the bride and groom step off, the guests follow. We took that very seriously and made a point of staying on the dance floor together all night. Our guests danced with us until nearly 33 am— and we’d call that a success!

Crystal Chandeliers and Crimson Blooms Set the Tone for This Chianti Wedding Weekend

Set in the rolling hills of Chianti, Borgo Stomennano is reached by a long, tree-lined drive, revealing an 11th-century estate with a timeless, romantic sense of place. Here, Claire and Jack envisioned a multi-day celebration that honored the setting — blending relaxed Italian charm with subtle Old World glamour. After ten years together, they prioritized experience over formalities—bringing their closest people together in a destination that encouraged connection, ease, and the joy of celebrating together. The celebration unfolded in thoughtful chapters. Guests were first welcomed to Monteriggioni at Borgo San Luigi, where they stayed, before gathering at Borgo Stomennano for an intimate pizza party with a live Italian swing band and Brindapino’s food and drink stations. The wedding day then embraced a richer palette of burgundy and crimson, with crystal chandeliers suspended from century-old trees, adding romance while honoring the estate’s natural beauty. Every detail — from the bespoke burgundy stationery by Lupine Letters to the artisan table linens by Apollonia Linen — was thoughtfully curated by Madame Wedding Design to create an immersive experience that felt both grand and deeply personal.

A cathedral-length veil added movement as she walked beneath the cypress trees, while her bouquet of deep red anthuriums and cascading amaranthus echoed the rich burgundy palette of the celebration. Later in the evening, she changed into a second look by Eliyah The Label, bringing a fresh energy to the poolside dancing. The night before, she chose a romantic halter-neck dress by Reformation with tiered lace, embracing a softer, more relaxed tone for the pizza party.

The culinary experience was rooted in Tuscan tradition, crafted by Guidi Lenci. The welcome dinner set the tone with a golden-hour aperitivo on the lawns of Borgo Stomennano, followed by an intimate pizza party with pies baked fresh in outdoor ovens and a curated Spritz bar. As the sun set, guests lingered over gelato while a live Italian swing band played, easing everyone into the celebration. On the wedding day, guests were welcomed with prosecco before the ceremony, followed by an aperitivo in front of the villa. A curated selection of hors d’oeuvres circulated among mingling guests — favorites included mini bruschetta, seasonal tempura vegetables, and veal and sage skewers — alongside two signature cocktails: La Bella Spritzarita, a Margarita-inspired Hugo Spritz for the bride, and a classic Negroni for the groom. Dinner unfolded at long tables beneath crystal chandeliers, where regional flavors took center stage. Handmade pastas — tortelli filled with pappa al pomodoro and pappardelle with porcini mushrooms — were followed by a choice of beef filet or eggplant parmigiana. Wines from Borgo Stomennano’s vineyard were poured throughout the evening, extending the sense of place well into the night, before a sweet Italian dessert display carried the celebration into the after-party.

For the welcome dinner, low arrangements of white garden roses and ranunculus were layered with potted herbs and seasonal citrus, creating a tablescape that felt freshly gathered from the Tuscan countryside. On the wedding day, a richer palette of burgundy, white, blush, and green grounded the design. Arrangements balanced sculptural form with organic movement, featuring bold anthuriums, trailing amaranthus, and soft white blooms. At the ceremony, florals framed the bride and groom while drawing attention to the iron gates and statues anchoring the space. A similar composition lined the back row of ivory garden chairs, creating quiet cohesion. Bridesmaids carried minimal bouquets of white calla lilies and cascading green amaranthus, while Claire’s bouquet offered a fuller interpretation with vibrant burgundy anthuriums. During cocktail hour, arrangements in urns topped four pedestals displaying guest names and seating assignments, set against Tuscany’s rolling hills. Iron lounge seating with ivory cushions invites guests to pause and take in the landscape before dinner. For the reception, a serpentine table followed the natural curve of the villa’s back garden. Crystal chandeliers suspended from centuries-old trees framed the open-air setting, while tall silver candelabras with tapered ivory candles and votives added warmth. Lush burgundy arrangements ran the length of the table, woven with deep purple grapes, ripe pears, and dark figs for added richness and depth. Burgundy menu cards by Lupine Letters, illustrated with Tuscan cypress trees, rested atop Ginori Impero china with platinum filet at each place setting, completing a design that felt layered, intentional, and rooted in place.

As a couple, Kate and Luke feel most connected to themselves and to each other when they are near the water. That love led them to choose Lake Geneva for their wedding weekend. Light blues and whites reflected the lake setting, while warm, refined details made the day feel theirs distinctly. The overall design was “Hampton-esque” with a Midwestern heart, filled with crisp whites, breezy blues, and a tailored yet relaxed atmosphere. They were married in the Catholic church, and because there was a longer gap between the ceremony and reception, they planned a lakeside cocktail hour and boat cruise so guests could fully experience Lake Geneva. Aside from two brief minutes of rain, followed by a rainbow, the day unfolded beautifully. At the top of their church program, they included a favorite quote: “Most days in life don’t stand out, but life’s about those days that will.” They knew their wedding would always be one of those days and wanted it to feel just as memorable for everyone they loved.

On Sunday morning, they arrived at Stony Hill Vineyard, tucked up a long, winding road on Spring Mountain.
