Real Wedding Inspirations by Hatch

Lucky for us, Barb has one last real wedding inspiration for us!

With the Empire State Building as their backdrop and John Lennon’s “Grow Old With Me” in their hearts, it was a day I’m sure they’ll cherish forever…

Real Wedding - Laurel and Art

Art and Laurel were such a cool couple. We paired Laurel’s love for vintage flair and Art’s love for the Beatles and created their dream wedding. Our favorite details were the matching Beatles album pins that we gave to Art wear in lieu of a boutonniere and we pinned on Laurels bouquet. Their wedding was held at The AVEnts Event Loft. Thanks so much to Chris Leary for capturing the day perfectly.

Thanks Hatch Creative Events for sharing these amazing inspirations with us!

Table Inspirations by Hatch Creative Studio

Wedding Table Settings - Hatch Creative Studio

From Barb…

I’m always thinking about what a Hatch Inspired table would look like. While I could come up with 100 different designs, my first of many Hatch inspired tables began by using elements we like to consider Hatch signature elements.  From mini nests, moss and tree stumps we feel right at home at this table.  Stay tuned for future Hatch inspired tables. If you have any ideas you’d like to see us try please let us know!

Thanks again to Vanessa Lenz for the great photos.

Barb has been sweet enough to stick around for the day and offer up some of her favorite inspirations…

From Barb at Hatch Creative Studio

We all have different things that inspire us. For me, it has always been my mom who surrounded me with arts and crafts and let me hang soft sculptures all over my ceiling when I was a kid. If you don’t know what a soft sculpture is here’s a link to one similar to one i had.

While my mom is the master of many crafts she has most recently been working on the art of floral photography and it’s her photos that have inspired this next table…

We used my moms photos and aged them which created a nice vintage feel. We sewed the photos to fabric to enhance the handmade effect and placed them in wheat grass containers. I love the idea of being able to reuse these flowers. Thanks for the inspiration, Mom.

Vanessa Lenz shot these pictures for me and if you get a second definitely go to her site. Vanessa’s photos are incredible.

Eat, Drink and Be Married by Hatch Creative Studio

Style Me Pretty welcomes Hatch Creative Studio as today’s guest blogger! Here is Barb to share some oh-so-fab ideas from a recent modern wedding she styled…

From Barb of Hatch Creative Studio…

I forgot just how beautiful a modern, white wedding can be. The Metropolitan Pavilion in NYC set the tone for this glowing event…

Jess’ love for Cala Lillies inspired our simple yet elegant bouquet and centerpieces.

We combined Jess’ love for chocolate and Dan’s love of a good martini on their escort card table filling martini glasses with special Hershey Kisses saying “just married”.

Guests loved having a private lounge to relax in after dancing their you know whats off to Elan Artists band The Urban Guerilla Orchestra.

One last detail that Hatch is happy to promote are donation cards. Hatch has been offering free design and printing of donation cards in lieu of favors since we opened and are more then happy to help grow this trend. Gilda’s Club was special to both the bride and groom and donations were made in every guests honor.

A huge thank you to Carlos Andres Varela and Mel Barlow of for taking such beautiful pictures!

Eco-Friendly Wedding Dresses, II

More on eco-friendly wedding dresses from the girls at Engaging Affairs!

Another favorite eco-chic designer is Deborah Lindquist, who mixes “reincarnated” and new Earth-friendly fabrics to create lushly beautiful gowns that are unabashedly romantic, more old Hollywood siren than sixties flower child…

We’re also big fans of Style Me Pretty favorite Olivia Luca, whose website allows you to design custom bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses from scratch.

Of course, the greenest fashion choice for your wedding is to recycle a dress that’s been worn before. Consider having a seamstress update your mother’s gown, or check out everything from eBay to online vintage boutiques like The Frock. There’s something so romantic about wearing a dress with a history of its own!

But in case you’re not ready for your bridal gown to be that “something old,” it’s good to know that there are more and more designers out there making sure that your new dress can be “something green!”

Abby Loves…Armato Design

I just got an email from Amy at Armato Designs about her line of letterpress celebratory stationery on Etsy…and it’s GREAT! I love the vivid use of color and craftmanship behind her designs. Plus, she has a pretty cool video showing the creation of a 2 color letterpress invitations that is worth a visit.

Eco-Friendly Wedding Dresses

Today’s guest blog comes from the incredibly talented girls at Engaging Affairs…all about eco-friendly wedding fashions. Love it!

From Lauren and Allison…

Admit it: Before you made a single decision about your wedding, before you picked a date, or settled on a venue (maybe before you even met the guy!) you’d thought about The Dress.

And so when the big day approaches, even the most environmentally savvy bride may balk at compromising her vision of the perfect gown for a more eco-chic version. With visions of hemp dresses better suited for Woodstock than a wedding reception, who could blame you? Luckily, environmentally conscious bridal fashion has come a long way in recent years. The designers featured below have all gone green, and the results are nothing short of gorgeous!

Morgan Boszilkov uses sustainable fabrics and environmentally responsible business practices, and gives five percent of the proceeds from her Natural Bridal Collection to environmental causes. Her gowns are handcrafted in the USA and are absolutely stunning. Don’t believe us? See for yourself:

These dresses are just too pretty to only wear for one day! So in a stylish twist, some of Morgan’s gowns are convertible, with detachable bottom skirts that allow brides a completely different look for their receptions, as well as the very real (and green!) possibility of wearing their wedding dresses again.

More to come!!
