New Year’s should always be sparkly. It’s a requisite and if it’s gorgeous and gilded, even better. It’s that time of year when exciting new things are just around the corner and celebrating with your favorite people is a must. Take a tip from photographer extraordinaire Alea Lovely and forgo the overcrowded restaurants and nightclubs for a totally gorgeous, easy to execute at-home affair. We have a feeling house celebrations are the new black for 2013. And if those parties look anything like this pretty crafted by Julie Blanner along with florals by Victorian Gardens, paper goods by Announce this Design and a crazy good cake by Classic Cakes, then we’re in luck. From Alea Lovely… This is our take on New Years Eve celebrated at home with an upscale, classy twist. The cake was salty caramel layered cake accompanied by vanilla bean whoopie pies with edible gold glitter and vanilla meringue tipped with a gold luster dust. The punch bowl cups were tipped with brown sugar to give an added sweetness to any fruit drink. The champagne glasses were adorned with a DIY Screwer and golden curled ribbon. We also incorporated smaller champagne bottles placed in cups with ice for a fun, festive detail.
The glitter votives were handmade – (see how here!along with the framed 2013 and Happy New Year sign. The flowers were tipped with golden glitter to match the place settings. And last but not least, the cake had 2013 sparkler candles that could give any New Year’s Eve countdown a nice little pop.
