A Garden Party Wedding Rooted in a Shared Love of Flowers and Nature

[section title=”The Planning”]

Pale blue, lavender, sage

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Rachel and Adam share a love of gardening and florals. In fact, for their engagement session, we went to a nursery and garden, as this is part of them and their story. Because of this, they wanted to have an outdoor garden party wedding and chose a beautiful estate that was formerly a nursery for their venue. And they complemented the blooming florals of the venue with garden floral design.

Rachel’s wedding gown continued on the floral theme with floral appliqué across the bodice that fitted her perfectly. The florals cascaded down the length of her gown, which opened to a slit for a little added spice.

It was a hot summer day, so Rachel and Adam planned a lavender lemonade cocktail to welcome their guests as a refreshment before the ceremony began. During cocktail hour, guests were treated to delicious tray-passed appetizers. And for dessert, Ben and Jerry’s served ice cream to cool everyone down in the evening.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Rachel and Adam wanted garden floral arrangements that echoed the garden estate, and Moonflower Design Co delivered both for the ceremony and reception. The ombre of white, to lavender, to pale blue set the tone for an elegant aesthetic with hydrangeas, delphinium, and clematis intentionally arranged in gorgeous, loose, and organic arrangements. Their reception tables included floral-patterned table linens to continue the garden theme, and sweet lamps dotted the serpentine table layout.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The wedding cake was four tiers and continued the floral theme with painted greenery and a sugar flower adornment. The classic white base and simple green leaf design was a refined compliment to their elegant wedding aesthetic.

A French Countryside Wedding Centered on Garden Beauty, Long Lunches, and Effortless Elegance

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Soft natural neutrals, ivory, whites, buttery yellow, and soft foliage greens. We chose soft, natural colours to complement the beauty of the château and its surrounding gardens and vineyards. The setting was already so breathtaking that we wanted the palette to enhance it rather than distract from it. Neutral tones and delicate florals in white and buttery yellow blended beautifully with the landscape and created a romantic, effortless atmosphere.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Our vision was romantic, natural, and effortlessly elegant, allowing the château and its gardens to be the true backdrop of the celebration. We leaned into the beauty of the surroundings, creating a soft, organic aesthetic with flowing florals, natural texture,s and thoughtful details that felt relaxed yet refined. More than anything, we wanted the day to feel joyful and full of life. The atmosphere we hoped to create was one where guests could enjoy incredible food, music, sunshine, and the company of people they love, all while surrounded by the beauty of the French countryside.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Alfie proposed on the rooftop of our apartment in Sydney while we were living in Australia. With the help of a company called Eleven Events, he completely transformed the space with rugs and cushions, a flower-covered arch, candles, champagne, and a beautiful spread of charcuterie, fruit, and delicious nibbles. On the day of the proposal, I was meant to finish work early, but Alfie was running behind setting everything up, so he secretly asked my boss to keep me at work for a couple more hours. By the time I finally left, I was starving and slightly grumpy, and when I told Alfie I was on my way home, he asked me to come up to the rooftop because he had a surprise. I was convinced he had surprised me with a puppy and just wanted to grab food and head to the beach, but when I opened the door, he was on one knee in the middle of the flower arch, asking me to marry him. I blurted out that I thought it was going to be a puppy before immediately saying yes, and we both cried before celebrating with champagne and the beautiful food prepared.

I had visited so many bridal boutiques in London and was beginning to feel like I would never find the dress. Then I went to The Wedding Club in Knightsbridge, and the moment I tried on my gown, I knew it was the one. It felt effortless, dreamy, and incredibly romantic, with the most beautiful embroidery that made it feel truly special. The dress fit almost perfectly and needed very little tailoring, which felt like a sign that it was meant to be. I loved how elegant and comfortable it felt, especially for a summer wedding in the French countryside

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

I wanted my bridesmaids to feel gorgeous, confident, and completely comfortable. I chose dresses from Shona Joy in a beautiful yellow that felt soft, joyful, and perfect for a summer celebration. Each of the girls wore a different variation of the same colour so they could choose a style that suited them best. The mix of silhouettes created a relaxed and natural look while still feeling cohesive and elegant.

[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Alfie chose classic, timeless suits for himself and the groomsmen. The look was clean and elegant while still feeling relaxed enough for a destination wedding in the south of France. It perfectly complemented the romantic atmosphere of the day.[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

Food and drink were incredibly important to us, especially as we were getting married in France, where cuisine is such a huge part of the culture. One of our favourite dishes was the truffle, ricotta, and mushroom ravioli, which guests are still talking about. We chose a family-style sharing menu, which really added to the relaxed, communal atmosphere we wanted for the evening. Guests could enjoy a variety of starters, mains, and desserts while passing dishes around the table and sharing the experience. During the drinks reception, we served canapés alongside champagne, and later in the evening, we surprised everyone with a late-night croque monsieur, which was the perfect treat after hours of dancing.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The florals were soft, romantic, and natural, with whites and buttery yellow blooms combined with delicate foliage. Alfie’s sister’s team in London flew out to do the flowers and brought everything together beautifully, creating arrangements that felt effortless and elegant while perfectly complementing the château gardens. The décor and props included beautiful parasols and relaxed styling that enhanced the outdoor setting without overwhelming it. Everything felt light, romantic, and harmonious with the surroundings.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”][/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]A close friend read a passage from The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho during the ceremony, which felt incredibly meaningful and fitting for the moment. Our celebrant was also a dear friend from Australia, which made the ceremony feel deeply personal and intimate.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Music was hugely important to us because we originally met at a music festival thirteen years to the day before our wedding. I walked down the aisle to Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” my late father’s favourite song, beautifully performed on the violin. The violinist continued playing throughout the ceremony and reception, creating a magical atmosphere that carried through the entire celebration.

Dinner was served family-style to encourage a relaxed, shared atmosphere around the tables. One of the standout dishes was the truffle, ricotta, and mushroom ravioli, which guests are still talking about. A Jewel-Toned River Bottoms Ranch Wedding with Heart, Humor, and High Design

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Jewel tones

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The overall vibe of this wedding was romantic, bold, and joyously personal, a celebration that felt both thoughtfully curated and beautifully unforgettable. From the moment guests opened the jewel‑toned invitation suite — featuring custom watercolor art that hinted at the rich palette and elevated design to come — it was clear this day was not going to be ordinary. Every detail, from the rich florals that took center stage to the lively interactive dinner stations, was chosen with intention, creating an immersive experience that felt warm, inviting, and full of personality. The ranch backdrop of River Bottoms Ranch brought an organic elegance to the day, allowing the lush color story to shine against the natural surroundings and giving the celebration a sense of place that was both refined and heartfelt. True to who the couple is, the wedding celebration balanced timeless romance with playful soul — whether that was through the bride’s second pair of custom sneakers painted with their beloved pets, the groom’s nod to his professional tennis career, or the handcrafted, custom‑scented candles guests took home as favors. The atmosphere was lively and personal, blending meaningful design moments with joyful celebration so that every guest felt both seen and included. Together, these elements created a day that was elegant yet relaxed, dramatic yet deeply intimate — a storybook celebration that felt modern, evocative, and unmistakably them.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

The engagement session was nothing short of magical, bringing together the couple’s personalities and the ranch setting that would later anchor their wedding day. To honor the bride’s lifelong love of horses and the rustic elegance of River Bottoms Ranch, they chose to include two magnificent Clydesdales in the shoot — majestic creatures that added both presence and whimsy to every frame. Including horses in engagement portraits is a beautiful way to weave a couple’s lifestyle and passions into the imagery, especially in a western‑inspired setting where animals become part of the story rather than just props. The result was a set of images full of timeless romance — wide open fields, gentle connection, and the inherent grace of the Clydesdales alongside them — making this one of the most unforgettable engagement sessions of the season.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]The bride’s attention to detail was evident even in the moments before she walked down the aisle. While the bridal party prepped, she slipped into a pair of custom pajamas adorned with original watercolor art and her monogram, a playful yet perfectly curated detail that set the tone for the entire day. These personalized pieces weren’t just cozy attire for getting ready — they were a visual storybook of her aesthetic, a moment of artistry and intimacy captured on camera that reflected her love for design and meaningful personal touches. Small details like these elevated the pre‑ceremony moments into something richly memorable and beautifully photographed.

And then there was her gown — a true fairytale moment brought to life. From the way the fabric moved to how the silhouette perfectly mirrored her personality, the dress was more than just beautiful — it was her. With a design that felt both romantic and timeless, it complemented the overall celebration and made her feel like the heroine at the center of her own story. It was the perfect balance of softness, elegance, and intentional design, tying together the day’s theme of curated romance and thoughtful creativity.[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

Dinner at the celebration was anything but ordinary — we wanted the meal to feel interactive, abundant, and full of joy, so we curated a collection of custom action stations that kept guests moving and mingling throughout the evening. From a classic Philly cheesesteak station to a wood‑fire pizza oven and a rich rigatoni pasta station, each station brought its own personality and playful energy to the night, inviting guests to build their own favorite bites and savor every moment together. During cocktail hour, creative bite‑sized hors d’oeuvres set the tone, offering elegant little tastes that complemented the lively atmosphere. For dessert, we embraced variety and delight — from gooey s’mores by the fire to plenty of wedding cake — ensuring that no one left without a smile (or a second helping). It was a culinary experience that felt both heartfelt and celebratory, and guests are still talking about how well‑fed and happy they were all night long.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The florals were truly the heart of this wedding’s design and instantly set the tone for the whole day. With a jewel‑toned palette that felt rich, romantic, and unexpected, every arrangement was a visual moment — from the lush ceremony installations to the reception centerpieces that filled River Bottoms Ranch with dreamy color and texture. Deep hues and layered blooms created drama and dimension, making the floral design feel like a work of art woven throughout the celebration.

What made the floral story even more meaningful was that the bride herself is a florist, and flowers were not just décor but the design priority from the start. Her vision came to life in every stem and bouquet — so much so that she chose to carry two bouquets, each reflecting a different facet of her personal style and love for blooms.

The result was a display of color, texture, and movement that felt completely one‑of‑a‑kind this wedding season at River Bottoms Ranch — bold, romantic, and unforgettable.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The dessert moment was a true highlight of the evening, with not just one but two beautifully styled wedding cakes that delighted guests and doubled as design focal points. The main cake was especially striking — we repurposed the ceremony arch to frame it, creating a sculptural moment that felt both cohesive with the day’s aesthetic and captivating in photos. Artfully adorned with the couple’s custom monogram, this cake became a central visual anchor of the reception, inviting guests to pause and admire the detail and craftsmanship. Alongside it stood a second cake with a joyful personal touch: the phrase “Happily Evertson” — a playful and heartfelt nod to the couple’s new shared name — adding warmth and personality to the dessert presentation. Together, these two cakes felt intentional, artful, and perfectly in tune with the romantic atmosphere of the celebration

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”][/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Every detail told a piece of this wedding’s story — and nowhere was that more true than in the beautifully curated flatlay of signage and paper goods, which took hours to photograph because there was simply so much to admire. From custom signage to the jewel‑toned invitation suite, every piece was thoughtfully designed and perfectly styled to give guests (and later, the camera) a poetic preview of the day. Flatlays like this are more than just pictures — they set the tone for the celebration and capture the artful design priorities of the couple.

The invitation suite itself was a standout moment: rendered in rich jewel tones with custom watercolor art, it served as the very first glimpse into the aesthetic guests were invited to experience. These suites did more than convey logistics — they introduced the feeling of the wedding, hinting at the romance, color, and intentional design that awaited.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

We have to take a moment for the shoes — they were unforgettable. For the ceremony, the bridal heels were absolute perfection and served as her elegant “something blue”, nodding to tradition most stylishly. But the story didn’t end there. For dancing and late‑night fun, the bride changed into a pair of custom flat sneakers that were nothing short of art. Each pair was hand‑painted with whimsical watercolor portraits of the couple’s beloved pets, turning something practical into a deeply personal keepsake. To reflect the groom’s identity as a professional tennis player, a delicate tennis racket motif was incorporated — merging personality with playfulness. These shoes weren’t just comfortable — they were expressive, creative, and completely one‑of‑a‑kind, giving guests something to smile about long after the last dance.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]As the night wound down, guests were sent home with a gift that was just as intentional and meaningful as the rest of the celebration — a custom‑scented candle created by the bride and groom themselves. Each candle was thoughtfully made to embody the couple’s favorite fragrance notes, giving the favor a signature scent that guests could carry home as a reminder of the day’s warmth and joy.

Beautifully presented with jewel‑toned ribbon and bespoke monogrammed tissue paper, the favors felt like mini keepsakes — a thoughtful blend of design and sentiment that echoed the wedding’s aesthetic. These candles weren’t just decorative; they were little reminders of an evening filled with love, laughter, and light.[/field]

Food holds deep cultural significance for the couple, so creating an abundant and thoughtfully curated dining experience was a top priority. At the traditional ceremony, guests enjoyed jollof rice, a beloved and iconic dish that honored the couple’s cultural heritage. For the wedding reception, the menu transitioned into plated dishes highlighting classic American cuisine. The culinary experience needed to reflect a beautiful fusion of cultures while offering a wide variety of dishes to ensure every guest felt welcomed and cared for at the table.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The floral design embraced a timeless palette of all-white blooms accented with soft, natural greenery. Lush arrangements were thoughtfully layered throughout the celebration to complement the elegance of the mansion setting, creating a romantic and classic atmosphere that felt both elevated and effortlessly beautiful.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The wedding cake was a four-tier design featuring a selection of tuxedo, red velvet, and vanilla flavors, offering guests a variety of classic favorites. As a special surprise for the groom, the bride also incorporated a groom’s cake inspired by his professional soccer career. The playful soccer-themed cake was a thoughtful and personal detail that celebrated Emmanuel’s passion for the sport and added a fun moment to the evening.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]The ceremony was beautifully personal and filled with meaningful moments. [field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Faith was deeply woven into the ceremony through meaningful traditions. The couple included the tying of cords as a unity ritual, symbolizing the scripture Ecclesiastes 4:12 and the strength of a marriage centered in faith. They also shared communion for the first time as husband and wife, creating a quiet and powerful moment that reflected their commitment to building their life and union on a spiritual foundation.

Dancing plays a significant role in the couple’s culture, so the dancefloor was designed to be a central part of the celebration. Magnolia Leaves and Candlelight Set the Tone for This Charleston Celebration

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Alexandra and Jacob envisioned a wedding day that felt timeless and was rooted in the charm of Charleston. Their design leaned into the classic sophistication of white florals with subtle touches of southern greenery woven throughout every element of the day. Emerald green accents appeared across the flat lay details, bridesmaid dresses, and paper goods, creating a refined palette that complemented the historic beauty of Lowndes Grove. Florals by Charleston Florist incorporated magnolia leaves, sea moss, and lush white blooms, giving the arrangements a distinctly Southern feel that blended seamlessly with the coastal setting.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The reception took place beneath the tent overlooking the water, where the design carried forward the couple’s vision of classic elegance with Southern influence. Long tables dressed in the Terra Violet linen from Stradley Davidson created a layered and inviting tablescape, with the ceiling covered in full drapery. White florals and greenery arrangements by Charleston Florist ran the length of the tables alongside glowing candlelight, adding warmth as the evening transitioned from sunset into night. The natural light filtering through the tent during golden hour created an especially magical atmosphere for dinner. Guests dined on cuisine by Patrick Properties Hospitality Group, while music from Five Star Funk took over the dance floor and kept guests celebrating late into the evening.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

“Once we decided Lowndes Grove was the perfect setting for our wedding, we decided we didn’t want to ‘gild the lily’ by going overboard with bright colors or too trendy décor. We wanted the naturally beautiful Lowcountry evening to let the estate’s charm and scenery speak for themselves. The entire wedding day felt deeply personal and truly reflective of us as a couple and all the care we put into creating it. The bride was an art history major, so artful accents were her favorite design flair. The table numbers and seating chart were based on French Rococo and Neo-Classical paintings from the 18th century, reflecting the personality and period of the estate. Our vendors really did exceed every expectation. They not only brought our vision to life so beautifully, but were so patient, collaborative, and thoughtful throughout the entire process. Their creativity and attention to detail made every part of the wedding day feel visually stunning while still feeling completely true to us. We spent so much time carefully choosing each group we worked with, and we’re so grateful we did. We are still so in love with our florals; they were beyond all our Pinterest dreams and so perfectly captured the organic yet sophisticated Southern evening. The linens were also one of our favorite reception details. They not only accented beautifully with the oyster place setting and cut crystal stemware, but were stylishly harmonious with the elegant Lowcountry atmosphere of the evening. One of our favorite moments was during the Father-of-the-Bride speech, when the bride’s dad broke into a surprise Sinatra song, band and all. No one knew it was coming, not even the Mother-of-the-Bride, and it instantly became a once-in-a-lifetime moment we’ll never forget. A moment we keep going back to was our exit from the main house into a vintage Rolls-Royce. Seeing all of our loved ones gathered together at the end of the most incredible day was such an indescribable, incandescent moment, that we are so thrilled to have been so beautifully captured by our fabulous photographer.” – Alexandra + Jacob Altstadt

A Greek Island Wedding Where Organic Elegance Met the Beauty of the Aegean

[section title=”The Planning”]

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Alexa and Jeremy’s wedding day was a masterclass in organic elegance, where natural beauty met refined sophistication. The design seamlessly wove together the raw beauty of the Greek landscape with luxurious, thoughtful details. The design palette — crisp white and sage green — felt both effortlessly fresh and deeply intentional, with Alexa’s beloved hydrangeas cascading in lush runners down long feasting tables, their soft blooms echoing the island’s wild, natural beauty.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Brought together by fate at a mutual friend’s wedding eight years ago, Alexa and Jeremy’s love story unfolded quietly and naturally — through long conversations, shared advice, and the slow realization that friendship had blossomed into something far deeper. In June 2021, what began as a first date became the start of an inseparable partnership. Jeremy proposed in the intimate warmth of Alexa’s family backyard, surrounded by the people they love most — and the two celebrated with an entire day together, phones set aside, fully present in the moment.[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]The culinary experience was a love letter to the flavors of the Greek islands, with every dish rooted in the fresh, local produce of Paros — from a family-style Greek salad crowned with Cretan Mizithra cheese, to a showstopping grouper fillet finished with a Moschofilero white wine sauce, and a Greek breed beef fillet paired with Jerusalem artichoke and aged Jerez vinegar. The evening began with passed bites of hand-rolled spanakopita and prawn skewers during cocktail hour, and ended with loukoumades drizzled in golden honey and a late-night spread of comfort food to keep the dance floor going. Guests raised a glass to the couple all evening with a premium open bar flowing with top-shelf spirits, a curated selection of Greek wines, and two bespoke signature cocktails providing a playful, personal touch that set the tone for a truly unforgettable night.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The ceremony took place on a stunning Amphitheatre carved into the hillside, overlooking the crystalline Aegean Sea. A sweeping arc of lush florals created an organic gateway for the couple’s vows. The reception design celebrated a fresh, modern palette of sage green and crisp white with touches of natural texture. Long feasting tables were draped in exquisite sage damask linens, creating an elegant foundation for the tablescape. A continuous floral runner of white and green hydrangeas mixed with delicate blooms cascaded down the center, punctuated by glowing white taper candles. Plush, shell-backed chairs in soft cream surrounded the tables, adding a touch of contemporary luxury. Round tables featured a beautiful contrast with woven rattan chairs that nodded to the Mediterranean setting, while maintaining the elegant aesthetic.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Rather than pausing the celebration for a traditional cake cutting, Alexa and Jeremy chose to honour the sweetness of their Greek surroundings with a lavish dessert buffet stationed alongside the dance floor — an abundant spread of loukoumades, baklava, and fresh fruit that guests could indulge in between dances, keeping the energy alive and the night beautifully uninterrupted.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

Music was at the heart of Alexa and Jeremy’s celebration from the very first moment. The ceremony was set to songs close to their hearts, performed live and intimately by guitar and keys, creating an atmosphere that was deeply personal and quietly unforgettable. As dinner drew to a close, the band’s saxophonist made his way through the tables, filling the air with infectious energy and leading every guest down to the dance floor in the most joyful, cinematic way. From there, the London Soho City Collective took over for two electrifying hours — weaving through decades of soul, R&B, disco, and pop with the kind of seamless energy that kept the dance floor absolutely packed all night, from Beyoncé and Whitney Houston to Ibiza classics and a roof-raising encore of Mr. Brightside. The first dance, a live rendition of Can’t Take My Eyes Off You by Frankie Valli, set the tone for a night where every song felt like a celebration.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Honouring the rich tapestry of their shared heritage, Alexa and Jeremy wove two deeply meaningful traditions into their ceremony — the bride’s mother presented the ceremonial wedding crowns, treasured heirlooms that had graced the heads of the Greek women in their family for generations, while Jeremy paid tribute to his Jewish roots with the ceremonial breaking of the glass, a joyful and symbolic close to their vows, uniting both cultures in a single, deeply moving celebration of love and family.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

In a series of truly unforgettable moments, Alexa and Jeremy made the night entirely their own — their first dance to *Can’t Take My Eyes Off You* was made all the more tender by the bride’s sister taking the microphone to perform it live, before the couple later stormed the stage to join the band for a euphoric rendition of *Mr. Brightside*, closing the night most spectacularly by leaping off the stage and crowd surfing into the arms of their closest friends.

A Mediterranean Wedding Weekend in Málaga Defined by Architectural Beauty

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Caroline and Graham’s destination wedding weekend gathered guests at Finca la Concepción in Málaga, Spain, for a celebration that moved seamlessly across the property from daylight to evening. The overall aesthetic balanced architectural design with Mediterranean romance. The ceremony took place in front of the estate’s historic ruins, where a crisp white aisle and sculptural floral installations framed the moment. Following the ceremony, guests wandered through the palm-lined gardens for an aperitivo before transitioning to dinner beneath a custom-built structure draped with a suspended canopy of greenery and delicate baby’s breath. The reception design emphasized proportion, clean lines, and layered textures, creating an atmosphere that felt both modern and timeless. As evening fell, lighting and candlelight transformed the space, while a circular bar wrapped around the estate’s central tree became a natural gathering point for the celebration.

The dining experience embraced a Mediterranean sensibility, beginning with an aperitivo in the gardens before guests were seated for dinner beneath the floral canopy. In place of a traditional wedding cake, dessert became an interactive moment: a sculptural chocolate egg was dramatically melted and opened tableside, revealing an assortment of sweets and adding a theatrical, modern twist to the evening.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Florals were designed to allow the architecture and surrounding gardens to remain central to the visual story. A Color-Saturated Cabo Wedding Inspired by Sunset Skies and Butterfly Details at Esperanza

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Coral, apricot, blush, magenta, soft sky blue, periwinkle, butter yellow, and touches of natural rattan and ivory.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Taylor and Jack envisioned a weekend that felt classic at its core but layered with saturated color and personal symbolism. The structure remained timeless, while florals, paper details, and tabletop textures introduced movement and depth. In collaboration with Carena of Amy Abbott Events, the design focused on balance, allowing bold tones to stand confidently against the natural setting at Esperanza. The butterfly motif originated from Taylor’s Oscar de la Renta rehearsal dinner dress and carried quite significance throughout the weekend. Rather than appearing heavily, it surfaced in the cake design, escort details, and subtle tabletop accents. The palette reflected a Cabo sunset. Coral and magenta anchored the ceremony florals, soft blues cooled the reception tables, and woven textures grounded the color story against the ocean backdrop.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Jack proposed at Kemo Sabe in Vail, Colorado, with both families present. Afterward, they designed custom cowboy hats on-site, turning the proposal into an experience they could carry with them long after the weekend ended. The celebration continued that evening at Matsuhisa, where they gathered for dinner surrounded by family. Colorado felt especially fitting, as it is where Taylor was born and raised, and a place Jack has vacationed frequently.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Taylor selected the Vittoria gown from Monique Lhuillier’s Spring 2025 collection. The lace strapless drop-waist ball gown featured a sculpted skirt, sweetheart neckline, and extended lace train that moved effortlessly along the ocean-facing aisle. The internal construction provided structure while maintaining softness in motion.

For the ceremony, she layered a sleeveless lace high-neck jacket over the gown, adding dimension and a formal edge. For the reception, she changed into a custom beaded Nardos design with a neck-tie detail, allowing ease of movement once the dance floor opened.

She completed the look with custom earrings from Fifth Avenue Designs and later borrowed her mother’s tennis necklace for the reception. Vintage Chanel heels added a subtle fashion-forward touch. Bridal styling was curated by Anne Banks Easter.[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

The bridesmaids selected their own silhouettes in light blue, orange, or pink. The variation in cut and tone added depth to the group styling and echoed the layered floral palette without appearing overly coordinated.

Jack wore a Canali tuxedo with a white textured jacket paired with classic black trousers and Ferragamo velvet loafers. His silver-engraved diamond cufflinks, gifted by Taylor’s parents, provided a personal finishing detail. The groomsmen wore traditional black tuxedos, keeping the overall aesthetic refined and clean.

Esperanza’s culinary team curated a menu reflective of the region, incorporating fresh coastal ingredients with polished presentation. The open-air setting allowed dinner to unfold against the ocean, blending cuisine with the environment. Custom shot glasses were placed at each setting as a nod to Cabo and to encourage interaction between tables. Each table designated a “captain” responsible for keeping the tequila flowing, maintaining momentum throughout dinner and into the evening.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Cristina Gonzalez designed florals that intensified in tone as guests approached the altar. The ceremony aisle transitioned from softer blush and coral to saturated pinks and blues, drawing the eye toward the ocean-facing platform. A low ground installation framed the couple without blocking the horizon.

At the reception, florals cascaded from the head table and were paired with rattan chargers, patterned plates, and sculptural glass hurricanes. Menus by Katherine Jezek featured guest names printed atop butterfly cutouts, integrating the motif into the tabletop in a subtle way.

As night fell, candlelight defined dinner before disco balls reflected colored light across the dance floor, transforming the atmosphere without altering the foundation of the design.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The cake featured white butterfly appliqués climbing each tier in a vertical arrangement. The design emphasized movement and clean structure rather than heavy ornamentation. Displayed on a scalloped table under soft lighting, it became a focal point within the reception space.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

Cabo Strings performed live during the ceremony. The groom processed to “River” by Leon Bridges, and the bride walked to “Oceans.” The recessional to “Birds of a Feather” by Billie Eilish introduced a modern shift in tone. For the reception, Liquid Blue Band played a mix of rock, 70s, and 80s favorites. Taylor and Jack shared their first dance to “In Your Love” by Tyler Childers.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Immediately after their first kiss, color bomb fireworks were released behind the altar, sending coral, purple, green, and pink powder into the sky. The placement was carefully coordinated so the color framed the couple without obstructing the ocean view. The burst created a clear transition from ceremony to reception and reinforced the palette established in the floral design. It was a production-driven detail that added scale without overwhelming the setting.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

Following the cake cutting, a full fireworks display launched along the coastline at Esperanza. The show was timed to draw guests from dinner into the dance floor portion of the evening. Because the reception remained open-air, the fireworks became part of the environment rather than a separate spectacle. The scale of the display elevated the moment without requiring additional staging within the reception layout.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

Later in the evening, disco balls were installed overhead, some incorporating subtle butterfly detailing that referenced the weekend’s design motif. The reflective surfaces shifted the lighting dynamic across the reception space, signaling the move from seated dinner to full dance floor. Rather than introducing new décor, the lighting change redefined the existing setting, allowing the room to transform through reflection and movement alone.

An Heirloom-Inspired Celebration Inside Nashville’s Historic Hermitage Hotel

“The overall vision for the wedding was rooted in timeless elegance with a deeply romantic undertone, intentionally designed to complement the historic architecture of The Hermitage Hotel. Morgan & Collin wanted us to focus on creating a celebration that felt both classic and elevated, ensuring it would remain beautiful and relevant for years to come.” – Sara Fried, Fete Nashville Luxury Weddings. Soft, refined details paired with thoughtful design elements to create an atmosphere that felt warm, intimate, and effortlessly glamorous. Every aspect of the design honored the venue’s rich history and ornate detailing, allowing the space to shine while enhancing it with romantic textures and subtle layers.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

“Friends are really important to us, and we love to travel, so I chose to propose to Morgan in Belize with the help of one of Morgan’s friends. I officially asked Morgan to marry me on the beach before dinner one of the evenings of our trip. Then we had dinner at a table filled with flowers from a local florist, and a local musician came and played a private show for all of us there. [field title=”Food & Drink”]Food was a meaningful part of the celebration, with the couple prioritizing a menu that reflected both personal favorites and elevated dining. The culinary team at The Hermitage Hotel curated a dining experience that felt both refined and deeply personal. “On my side of the family, we’re huge foodies. I grew up cooking with my father, so it was important to have a showstopping menu. We even brought my dad to the tasting. It was the only vendor meeting he attended.” – Morgan, Bride

“The menu featured a standout sea bass dish inspired by Morgan’s coastal upbringing, alongside an Italian-inspired pasta option that reflected the couple’s shared love of Italian cuisine. Every detail was thoughtfully selected to create a memorable and meaningful experience for their guests.” – Chelsey Moore, Fete Nashville Luxury Weddings

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

“We worked with The Florista to design showstopping, yet endlessly romantic floral moments throughout the space. We had soft, classic blooms spilling from a grand piano, bars, and vintage luggage, all to create an elegant and cohesive look with the hotel. Then, guests walked through a dramatically draped entryway textured with rope and tassels curated by the lovely team at Renowned Event Designs. Inside the reception ballroom, guests were met with glowing candlelight flooding from all the dining tables topped with delicate lace trimmed china.” – Sara @ Fête Luxury Weddings, Planner

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The wedding cake, created by Dessert Designs, featured a classic white, vintage-inspired design that mirrored the architecture of the venue. Flavor played an equally important role, with carrot cake serving as a nostalgic favorite for the bride. “Carrot cake is such a Southern staple and something I grew up loving, that was a definite must-have. ” – Morgan, Bride.

Additional desserts, including cheesecake, ensured a decadent and crowd-pleasing finish to the evening.

“My sister, who’s been one of the most influential people in my life, officiated the ceremony, which was one of the most important things that we’ve ever done. It was especially important because now it’s become a tradition for every sibling in Collin and my family to be officiated by a family member.” – Morgan, Bride Music selections throughout the day reflected the couple’s personal tastes rather than traditional expectations. From meaningful songs chosen for their parent dances, from Tarzan to a fun, nostalgic first dance inspired by Top Gun, every moment felt authentic. “We just picked songs that we love, and that felt like us.” – Morgan, Bride

Guests were invited to ring a bell and were then personally handed their escort card by a beautifully adorned bellhop, creating a playful yet elevated experience. It tied seamlessly into the venue’s history while adding an element of surprise and engagement for guests.

During cocktail hour, guests were immersed in a deeply personal visual story of the couple’s lives. The space featured a collection of childhood and family photos of both Morgan and Collin, displayed alongside heirloom images of their grandparents, including a framed newspaper announcement from Morgan’s grandparents’ wedding, who have since passed, detailing every element from their big day. “She was a big hostess, and anything she did was very traditional, so I was trying to find little ways to honor her during this because she was a big influence for me.” – Morgan, Bride

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

The wedding weekend was designed as a full guest experience, beginning with a Western-chic welcome party at The Twelve Thirty Club in Downtown Nashville. Inspired by the couple’s ties to Texas and love for live music culture, the rooftop celebration offered guests sweeping views of the iconic Broadway strip and an energetic, festive atmosphere. Featured at the event was a custom ice luge designed after the couple’s dog, Rodeo, sculpted by Nashville’s own Designed Ice. “What’s more iconic than playing into Nashville’s reputation as the live music capital of the world and representing that culture at the start of our wedding weekend celebration?” – Collin, Groom

A Rhode Island Wedding That Captured the Spirit of a Newport Summer at Castle Hill Inn

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]white, ivory, green and pale blue.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

A romantic and airy coastal garden-party wedding by the sea at the historic 40-acre estate, The Castle Hill Inn. Classic and formal, but also featuring a dreamy floral forward design aesthetic. The ceremony overlooked the Narragansett Bay and Atlantic Ocean. Guests roamed the vast gardens and lawn during the cocktail party and later dined and danced the night away beneath the sailcloth tent. Jack, an experienced sailor, has spent over a decade sailing out of Newport and Jamestown, Rhode Island. When they began dating, Corinne quickly fell in love with the area during summer visits, and after creating so many meaningful memories there, they knew it was the perfect place to get married. Choosing Castle Hill Inn felt effortless—the exceptional staff made both the planning process and wedding day seamless.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

It was the Friday before Christmas Eve, which fell on a Sunday in 2023. Jack and Corinne were visiting her parents’ house in Avon by the Sea, NJ, and it was windy and brutally cold. Jack insisted on taking our dog for a walk on the beach. Corinne tried multiple times to turn around because it was so cold,d but he insisted we go see how the beach looked after a storm. They walked on the beach for a bit, and he got down on his knee and asked most sweetly – of course, her answer was yes.

Guests were then served a grilled baby gem wedge salad, followed by a choice of steak, salmon, or summer vegetable rigatoni. The cake by Confectionary Designs was both visually stunning—perfectly complementing the invitation suite—and absolutely delicious.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The wedding featured an inspired all-white floral theme with lush greenery accents. The bride carried a delicate bouquet of lily of the valley, while each bridesmaid held a unique arrangement of white flowers. It was uncertain if it would be possible to source Lily of the Valley in July, so when the bride received her bouquet that morning,g she was overjoyed as it was a nod to her grandmother. The ceremony aisle was lined with baskets of white blooms, ms and the centerpiece, a lush arbor design overflowing with white flowers set against a base of greenery. White rose petals were thrown in the air, framing the bride and groom during the recessional. At the reception, hanging basket pendants showcased white roses, hydrangeas, dahlias, and greenery. Each table featured an individually unique design, with the suspended floral arrangements serving as a stunning focal point. Blue tapered candles lit the tables with subtle touches of forget-me-nots.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The wedding cake was a delicate shade of blue and displayed Lily of the Valley made of pure sugar. Additionally, the bottom layer of the cake featured a custom pattern directly inspired by the envelope lining from the wedding invitation. Having Lily of the Valley was a special design element inspired by the bride’s grandmother’s wedding flowers

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

The Groom’s Father spoke at the ceremony along with one of the bride’s oldest friends. A long-time family friend of the bride’s parents married the couple and celebrated her Hawaiian heritage by surprising her with a traditional Hawaiian lei. One ring barrier presented the lei to Jack, and the other ring barrier presented the wedding bands on a white pillow.

THE BRIDE’S BOUQUET: Lily of the Valley was Corinne’s grandmother’s wedding flower, and incorporating it was a meaningful way to honor her. The sentimental flower was included on the cake and the invitation. “I was unsure if it would be possible to source Lily of the Valley in July, so having Fig & Squill deliver it was such a special surprise that morning—and truly one of my favorite moments.” – Corinne

THE INVITATION: It was an amazing process, both inspiring and relaxing,d as the design meetings often centered around getting drinks in the West Village, NYC. A Mediterranean-Inspired Waterfront Wedding with Bougainvillea Brights

[section title=”The Planning”]

Hot pink, red, peach, blue, and white.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Chloe and William took inspiration from some of their favorite Mediterranean destinations. They wanted crisp white, coastal blues, and loved the pop of color in climbing bougainvillea. With the wedding being right on the water, these coastal colors and textures felt just right for the location.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

It was the Thursday before Memorial Day weekend, and we had a group of friends coming on Friday to spend the weekend with us at the beach. Earlier that week, William had asked if I wanted to take the dogs out on the boat on Thursday evening after work. I always say yes, but that day was very windy. I kept asking if he was sure he wanted to go—he never takes the boat out when it’s that windy! He just kept saying, “It’s not that bad,” even though it definitely was. When we pulled up to the beach, we decided to take a walk with the dogs. William went back to the boat to grab us a drink, but I noticed he wasn’t taking any sips and his hands were shaking. I asked if he was okay, and that’s when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was perfect — the surprise, the quiet moment, and even the dogs were calm (which never happens!). We sat together for a while, just soaking it all in. Later that night, we met my mom and cousins for a nice dinner to celebrate. The next day, all our friends arrived, and we spent the whole weekend celebrating — the second-best weekend of our lives, right after our wedding!

Bringing the coastal flair into food and beverage, guests were greeted with a Mai Tai or skinny margarita upon arrival. At cocktail hour, they enjoyed coconut shrimp served on mini Adirondack chairs and mini ahi tuna tacos. For dinner, they enjoyed short rib, truffle chicken (a Laura Ashley Catering favorite!), and local Florida grouper. A guest favorite was the late-night Taco Bell truck that parked in the driveway, ready to serve guests that final bite.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

I wanted the florals to reflect Florida’s natural beauty. The backdrop was already stunning with greenery and gorgeous views, so I envisioned a clean, fresh look with soft blues and greens in the decor — accented by vibrant florals that would really stand out.

My dad passed away six years ago, and he was such an important part of my life. I wanted to make sure we included special details in the wedding to honor him. Ever since I was young, my dad collected bottles of Silver Oak wine and always said he wanted them served at my wedding, so that’s exactly what we did. Each table had a bottle, and my mom gave a heartfelt toast in his honor. We also made sure to have his favorite beer, Amstel Light, available at the bar. My dad always used to say, “Anything worth doing is worth overdoing,” and that felt especially fitting for our wedding day — every detail and moment was filled with love and intention. Several guests even came up to me during the night and mentioned how perfectly that saying described the celebration. We all truly felt his presence that day. Our wedding day was especially meaningful because it fell on my parents’ 28th wedding anniversary.

A Chartreuse-Filled Penthouse Wedding with Vibrant Color and Historic Glamour

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Chartreuse, merlot, purple. For the overall design direction, the couple was drawn to chartreuse as the defining color of the palette. They were captivated by its vibrancy and how effortlessly it echoed the liveliness of the Penthouse setting. The bold, citrus-toned green brought a fresh, modern energy to the space, creating a striking foundation for the celebration’s aesthetic. To introduce balance and a sense of seasonal depth, the palette was thoughtfully layered with tones of merlot and contemporary purples. These richer hues softened the brightness of chartreuse while subtly nodding to an October setting, creating a composition that felt both elevated and seasonally grounded. The interplay between vivid and moody tones resulted in a palette that was refined, expressive, and full of dimension.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The couple wanted a contemporary flair that still felt like it had a place within the history of the Penthouse. Every room of the Penthouse tells its own story and has its own life, and the couple wanted to find a way to cohesively bring every room together with our design as the common thread. Reanna of CMG Events described the evenings as, “An elevated and chic affair. A vibrant palette complemented by the bold personality of the Penthouse, while embracing sophistication and elegance. A night to remember.”

For her wedding day look, Laura envisioned a gown that felt effortlessly glamorous, and Sarah Seven’s gown was exactly that. She chose a sleek silhouette that perfectly complemented the sophisticated Penthouse setting, allowing the clean lines and refined tailoring to speak for themselves. The look felt timeless and striking, blending classic Hollywood allure with the modern elegance of the celebration’s setting high above the city.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

The couple chose not to have a traditional bridal party, wanting the day to feel relaxed and fully shared with the people they love most. With an intentionally intimate guest list, they felt that everyone invited already represented the very cream of the crop of their circle. By forgoing a formal wedding party, every guest could simply be present, celebrate, and enjoy the day alongside them, creating an atmosphere that felt personal, inclusive, and deeply meaningful.

[board_carousel title=”Cocktail Hour”]

[/board_carousel]
[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]Tucked into the Penthouse, the couple designed an evening where every detail felt personal and a little unexpected. One of the most memorable touches was a signature cocktail Ted once said perfectly captured Laura’s spirit: the Naked & Famous. Bright, complex, and a little bold, it quickly became a favorite among guests. In a playful nod to Italian tradition, the cocktail was served through a tiny speakeasy-style window the couple named “La Buchetta.” The name translates to “small opening” in Italian and references the historic wine windows—buchette del vino—that dot the streets of Florence. Just like those centuries-old windows where passersby could receive a glass of wine, guests approached the Penthouse wall to receive their cocktail through the charming little opening. One of the drink’s signature ingredients, Chartreuse, added another layer of richness to the experience.

Ted’s own signature drink offered a completely different atmosphere. His XO Old Fashioned was served from “The Library,” a custom bar installation nestled inside the Penthouse library, creating a cozy and refined corner where guests could gather for a perfectly stirred classic.

Adding yet another unexpected detail, bottles of Roederer L’Ermitage Black Label were chilled inside the Penthouse’s vintage bathtubs before being poured for guests. It was a playful yet luxurious touch that perfectly reflected the spirit of the celebration—elegant, personal, and filled with moments that felt both timeless and delightfully surprising. [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

When it came to the décor, a few elements quickly became clear favorites. The Chartreuse Mabel Chairs from Theoni were easily the standout statement pieces of the day. Their bold color and sculptural shape added personality to the design while beautifully tying in the chartreuse color story that carried throughout both the ceremony and reception. They felt elevated yet playful, perfectly echoing the vibrant details woven into the celebration. Another design element that truly surprised everyone was the table linens. Featuring an ornate sequin pattern with a modern edge, they brought texture, movement, and a subtle shimmer that unified the entire tablescape. The linens ended up becoming one of the most memorable visual details of the evening, adding just the right amount of drama and glamour to the overall design. Florals became one of the most expressive and artful layers of the day, beautifully brought to life by Emily of Flower Girl Em. Laura’s vision for the bouquet was something bold, unexpected, and full of life. Drawn to the idea of a monochromatic palette, she fell in love with a vibrant lime-chartreuse tone that felt both fresh and fashion-forward. The cymbidium orchids in the perfect shade became the centerpiece of her bouquet. They were paired with softly draping light green amaranthus, adding movement and an organic, almost ethereal quality as it cascaded effortlessly. For the ceremony and dinner, the floral story deepened into richer, more layered tones. The couple wanted to bring in warmth through hues of plum and mulberry, accented with subtle notes of chocolate and lime to maintain cohesion with the overall palette. Seasonal, locally sourced blooms set the tone, with dahlias, hydrangea, and pistachio branches creating lush, textural arrangements that surrounded Laura and Ted as they exchanged vows. Dinner design became a playful extension of the floral concept, where Flower Girl Em leaned into abundance and seasonality. Fresh fruit was sourced from local markets—clusters of grapes, ripe figs, and even miniature heirloom eggplants—which were woven throughout the tablescape. These unexpected elements paired beautifully with oncidium orchids, hellebore, and deep plum calla lilies, creating a rich, layered composition that felt both elevated and slightly whimsical. The result was a tablescape that felt alive, immersive, and deeply rooted in the season, blending color, texture, and form in a way that was both refined and unforgettable.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]For the cake, the couple leaned into the timeless character of the Penthouse and the rich history of the Fairmont with a design that felt both nostalgic and playful. A red velvet cake shaped like a heart was finished with delicate vintage piping, evoking the charm of classic patisserie designs. The intricate details and romantic silhouette felt perfectly at home within the storied setting, adding a touch of old-world glamour while celebrating the building’s nostalgic flair. It was a sweet moment that beautifully echoed the personality and history woven throughout the entire celebration.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

The ceremony itself was filled with heartfelt moments and a touch of humor that perfectly reflected the couple’s personalities. In a special nod to family, the couple invited their siblings to take part in the ceremony readings. What began as a meaningful exchange quickly turned into a lighthearted moment that had the entire audience laughing. Their playful back-and-forth brought warmth and joy to the ceremony, creating a moment that felt both intimate and memorable for everyone gathered to witness the couple’s vows.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

The bride surprised the groom with custom-made cufflinks of their terrier dog, Berry!

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

The bride decided on a colorful pair of Jimmy Choo’s after getting an inspiration from another bride who chose bright green shoes for her wedding. Laura wanted a pair she could wear again after, and choosing a fun shoe went seamlessly with her sleek and minimalistic gown.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

The groom, Ted, designed a custom sketch of the Penthouse Fountain, which was featured on the invitation suite. The illustration added a meaningful and artistic touch, giving guests a first glimpse into the iconic setting where the couple would celebrate. For their guestbook, the couple chose something equally thoughtful and deeply connected to the venue. Instead of a traditional guestbook, guests signed a coffee table book about the history of the San Francisco Fairmont, a special gift Ted had received from his mother. The book not only honored the legacy of the landmark hotel but also created a keepsake the couple can return to for years to come, with handwritten notes from their loved ones woven throughout its pages.

A Sunset-Inspired Santa Barbara Wedding with Coastal Mediterranean Charm

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The colors dreamt up for the wedding were inspired by the natural setting of the ocean and sky background, along with pink and coral tones from the picturesque sunset. The colors were soft and playful, which helped bring a welcoming and warm tone to the overall wedding.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Our wedding took place in Santa Barbara at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara. We had dreamed of saying our vows before the oceanside bluffs of the Californian coast. The natural landscape inspired our coastal Mediterranean design while incorporating natural media and elements, such as driftwood-colored benches and details that blend in with the landscape.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Our story begins with two young college students meeting by chance and falling in love by fate. We had more in common than we ever could have guessed, and loved nothing more than spending time with each other. As the years passed, we spent them side by side, traveling the world and building our life together. It was on a beautiful spring day in a historic Kyoto garden where he proposed, knowing that as long as we’re in this adventure together, we’ll always live happily ever after.

The wedding’s whimsical, romantic tone was woven throughout every detail—from the movement of the design to the shapes of the florals and the color palette. Guests gathered oceanside to witness our vows before transitioning into a cozy, study-inspired setting for cocktail hour and the after-party. Dubbed “The Library Bar,” the space paid tribute to our love of reading, featuring a curated collection of books hand-selected to reflect the guests. Adding a playful touch, a gaming wall invites guests to unwind between moments, with nostalgic favorites like Mario Kart. We kept the bridal bouquet to be preserved by Pressed Floral, so instead of a traditional bouquet toss, we gathered everyone on the dance floor for the bride’s t-shirt toss. The lucky guest who caught it received a bespoke tee designed by 89 Factory, adorned with the faces of our two cats.

An Old-World Loire Valley Wedding with Antique Romance at Chateau De La Bourdaisiere

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Wedding day: deep red, old pink/blush, antique yellow, green, touches of blue + metal (gold, brass, and silver) Rehearsal dinner: white + wood + mix of metal and clear glass

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Carly & Aaron envisioned a wedding defined by old-world French romance with a modern twist, designed to immerse their guests in the wonders of the Loire Valley for an entire weekend. They desired to create a timeless aesthetic that highlighted the natural beauty of Château de la Bourdaisière, its pale stone architecture, and its diverse indoor and outdoor spaces. For the wedding day, the atmosphere leaned into a sophisticated antique aesthetic. A palette of deep, timeless colors, varied textures, and a curated mix of metals brought an authentic, vintage character to the celebration, bridging the gap between historical grandeur and contemporary chic. The day before the wedding, the couple hosted a rehearsal dinner in an atypical cave setting. Staying true to the overall aesthetic, the design focused on an accumulation of candles, mirrors, and soft draping to create an intimate, out-of-time ambiance within the subterranean space, setting a beautiful tone for the celebration to follow.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

The proposal took place on Carly’s 30th birthday during a trip to the Catskills to admire the New England fall foliage. The couple stayed at Wings Castle, a unique bed and breakfast overlooking a local winery. After a wine tasting, they brought a bottle back to the castle to watch the sunset. While the owner was taking a photo of them, Aaron got down on one knee to propose. To mark the occasion, the owner offered them her own wedding flutes for a celebratory toast, making the moment truly magical.

She wore four distinct looks throughout the day: Getting Ready: The morning began with a sentimental nod to family history, as Carly wore her mother’s original wedding peignoir and slip. Ceremony, cocktail hour & dinner: For the vows, she chose a vintage Justin Alexander gown sourced from Shop Gossamer and tailored by Bremelia. This embroidered strapless piece was styled with a vintage La Reine Bridal cathedral veil and Chanel shoes. The First Dance: To open the ballroom, Carly changed into a Monique Lhuillier gown. In a beautiful tribute to her family’s shared history, she paired it with her mother’s wedding veil, the same veil her sister and matron of honor wore for her own wedding. This was also the perfect moment for a second portrait session with Aaron before joining the party. The After-Party: To hit the dancefloor, Carly wore a skirt she had handmade herself with a Spella corset that she personally hand-beaded. She accessorized with Louboutin heels and a rare 19th-century Victorian hand fan made of silk, mother-of-pearl, and ivory. Her jewelry featured a custom pink diamond necklace and a wedding band from Adamas Fine Jewelry. Aaron wore a custom midnight navy herringbone tux from Hive and Colony, accented with vintage cufflinks.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]To offer their guests a true immersion into French culture, Carly & Aaron made exceptional cuisine and fine wines a centerpiece of their celebration. Following a two-hour cocktail reception, guests enjoyed a sophisticated three-course dinner featuring seasonal ingredients, each paired with French wines selected by the caterer to enhance every flavor.

To elevate the experience further, a custom bar was available throughout the event. The couple served curated signature cocktails during the cocktail hour, followed by an expanded menu to keep the energy high during the after-party.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Carly & Aaron envisioned an antique, timeless, and chic atmosphere, perfectly complementing the natural character of their estate in the historic Loire Valley. For the ceremony, the couple chose to use the château’s stone archway, separating the terrace from the Italian alley, as their backdrop, highlighting it with focal floral touches. A high semi-arch climbed the stone on one side, while lower arrangements were set in stone Medici vases on the other. The dinner took place in the château’s magnificent vaulted hall. The tables were adorned with generous floral arrangements in vintage metal containers for an antique feel, with fruits sprinkled throughout. Numerous antique candelabras in various metals and shapes completed the atmosphere, bringing many touches of light through their candles. Vintage plates beautifully complemented the table setting. All the stationery, from the invitations to the wedding day materials, was carefully designed and created by Carly and her mother, an artist, adding the perfect final touch to the overall decoration.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]For their wedding cake, the couple chose a traditional French croquembouche. It consisted of 300 vanilla and chocolate-filled choux, finished with nougatine decoration.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

The ceremony was officiated by a long-time friend of Aaron’s who has also become a very close friend to Carly, making the moment deeply personal and filled with emotion. Although the ceremony was non-denominational, the couple chose to honor their backgrounds by blending Jewish and Catholic traditions. They first performed the traditional smashing of the glass, followed by a symbolic candle-lighting ritual. Using two individual flames, they lit a central candle together to represent the union of their two lives, concluding the ceremony in a truly suspended moment.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

A few details regarding the rehearsal dinner. For the rehearsal dinner, Carly embraced a truly unique vintage look. She wore a one-of-a-kind custom gown crafted from Italian silk and French lace, discovered through a vintage seller on Poshmark. To complete this timeless ensemble, she carried a vintage Judith Leiber clutch, perfectly echoing the antique spirit of the weekend. Aaron wore a vintage Hugo Boss velvet-embossed dinner jacket. The reception took place within the château’s vast, historic caves, a setting characteristic of the Loire Valley. As the vaults offered a dramatic but dark backdrop, Carly & Aaron focused their decor on light. Guests were welcomed by a grand table glowing with lit candles that served as a creative seating chart. Each guest was invited to find the matchbox featuring their name and its candle to discover their table assignment. These custom matchboxes, thoughtfully designed by Carly and her mother, led the way into a magnificent hall illuminated by hundreds of flames for an unforgettable candlelit dinner.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

To conclude, here is a look at the flow of this exceptional wedding weekend. As Carly, Aaron, and the vast majority of their guests traveled from the United States, the couple wished to gather everyone for an extended stay. This provided a precious opportunity for loved ones to reconnect and for those meeting for the first time to build bonds, all while allowing guests to rest and adjust to the time difference before the wedding day. It was also the perfect occasion to explore the surroundings and some of the wonders of the Loire Valley. On the first day, guests were invited on a private cruise along the Cher river, offering a breathtaking perspective of the iconic Château de Chenonceau, followed by an intimate wine tasting and welcome cocktail at Château de Nitray. For this occasion, Carly had naturally designed and handcrafted a magnificent dress herself! The following day was designed to immerse guests in the idyllic setting of Château de la Bourdaisière, where most of the guests were staying. The program featured a chic, country-style luncheon held in the gardens, home to the estate’s famous tomato conservatory and a remarkable collection of dahlias. While a pool party was originally intended, the capricious weather led to a charming alternative: guests spent a cozy afternoon playing board games by the fire in the château’s salons. The day concluded with a rehearsal dinner held within the château’s historic caves. The third day was entirely dedicated to the wedding celebration itself, followed by a final farewell after breakfast the next morning.

From the ceremony through the reception, there were playful floral moments everywhere, each bursting with lush garden roses, soft pink hydrangea, and whimsy.

A Chic Greek Island Wedding with Mirrored Tables and Mediterranean Light

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Agios Isidoros Church, Chios, Greece August 21, 2025 On August 21, 2025, Joanne Koutsoulias and Apostolos Feretzanis — two Greek creatives living in New York — were married on the island of Chios in a celebration that felt as timeless and romantic as the landscape itself. With Joanne working in luxury fashion at Chanel and Apostolos immersed in creative construction and design, the couple shares an appreciation for beauty, heritage, and intentional detail — values that shaped every element of their wedding day. Wedding Colours Our palette was inspired directly by the setting of Agios Isidoros — crisp white against the Aegean blue, sun-warmed terracotta, natural stone, and soft olive greens. The church’s whitewashed walls and red-tiled roof became part of the visual language of the day, while the deep sea and golden horizon added depth and warmth. At the reception, layered whites and creams were balanced with olive-toned runners and lush greenery, creating continuity from ceremony to celebration. Subtle blush tones — reflected in my gown and shoes — added softness without overpowering the Mediterranean setting. The colors felt organic, romantic, and timeless, as though the wedding had grown naturally from the island itself.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

From the bride: For the reception, we envisioned modern Greek romance layered with texture, light, and movement. Structured tables and mirrored surfaces created a refined foundation, while olive-toned runners and lush greenery grounded the space in Mediterranean warmth. Above, cascading white florals transformed the ceiling into an immersive canopy, punctuated by crystal chandeliers and suspended disco balls that added dimension and subtle glamour. Candlelight reflected off mirrored tabletops, creating depth and glow as the evening unfolded. The overall atmosphere felt abundant yet intentional — polished, sculptural, and joyfully alive.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

From the bride: Apostolos proposed in Provence, France, while we were on vacation, staying at Hotel Crillon Le Brave. Surrounded by rolling vineyards and golden evening light, the moment felt suspended in time. It was intimate and deeply personal, just the two of us in the quiet romance of the South of France. The warmth of the air, the stillness of the countryside, and the emotion of the moment made it unforgettable. It was perfect in its simplicity — a beginning rooted in intention, beauty, and love.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]

From the bride: I got engaged in July 2024, and I always knew I wanted to wear Mira Zwillinger on my wedding day. I was able to secure an appointment for her trunk show the first week of August — just before leaving for Greece for vacation and to begin wedding planning. It felt serendipitous from the start. The gown I ultimately chose was the very first dress I tried on. Although I explored a few others, I kept returning to that initial moment — and said yes to the first one. It was also the first and only bridal salon I visited. The experience was deeply personal and intimate, shared with just my mom, my grandmother, and my sister. It felt calm, emotional, and certain — a memory I will always hold close. The strapless sweetheart neckline framed a delicate three-dimensional floral appliqué that felt almost weightless against the skin. The fitted bodice flowed into a romantic skirt layered in intricate lace, with a soft blush undertone that gave the gown warmth and depth rather than stark white contrast. It felt feminine yet strong — ethereal yet structured, timeless with modern clarity. From the sea breeze outside the church to dancing beneath chandeliers at the reception, the dress moved effortlessly, as if it belonged exactly where we were. Shoes, because my gown had a soft blush undertone, I knew I didn’t want a stark white shoe. I had a surprisingly difficult time finding something that complemented the warmth of the dress without competing with it. My koumbara — the Greek equivalent of a maid of honor — helped me in the search, and just a few weeks before my first dress fitting, she came across the perfect pair: brand-new, never-worn, blush satin Manolo Blahnik sandals in my exact size on The RealReal. It felt serendipitous, like they were meant to be mine. Working in fashion — and previously as a buyer for women’s designer shoes at Barneys New York — Manolo Blahnik has always been a brand that encompassed my world. I’ve long admired its timeless femininity and refined craftsmanship, and choosing that pair felt entirely true to my personal aesthetic — polished, chic, and quietly confident.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”][/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]

From the bride: Apostolos wore a tailored navy tuxedo that felt both timeless and distinctly modern against the whitewashed church and Aegean backdrop. The deep navy tone softened the formality of black while maintaining classic elegance. He paired it with a crisp white dress shirt, black bow tie, and black Christian Louboutin velvet loafers — adding subtle texture and understated refinement. Cartier cufflinks and delicately embroidered initials on his shirt cuff introduced a meaningful personal detail, while Bleu de Chanel completed the look with an invisible layer of polished sophistication. As the evening transitioned into a high-energy celebration, he changed into Golden Goose sneakers, one of his favorites — a relaxed yet intentional shift that allowed him to fully embrace the dance floor while keeping the styling elevated. The evolution of his look mirrored the arc of the night: refined and formal at the start, vibrant and celebratory by the end.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]From the bride:
Our menu celebrated traditional Greek cuisine elevated with intention. Fresh seafood, seasonal vegetables, local cheeses, and beloved regional dishes were served in a way that encouraged connection and warmth. Greek wines flowed throughout the evening, alongside celebratory pours of ouzo and signature cocktails inspired by Mediterranean flavors.

We wanted guests to experience Chios through every bite and glass — to feel the generosity, abundance, and hospitality that define Greek celebrations.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

From the bride: Florals were sculptural, tonal, and immersive. White blooms — including calla lilies, orchids, hydrangeas, and layered seasonal florals — were paired with rich greenery to create depth without heaviness. Mirrored tabletops reflected candlelight and arrangements, enhancing dimension and glow. The cascading floral canopy overhead, combined with crystal chandeliers and suspended disco balls, created a setting that felt romantic yet vibrant — abundant yet refined.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]From the bride:

Our wedding cake was a showpiece — an oversized mille-feuille layered with pastry cream and crowned with fresh strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries. Just before cutting it, we finished it together with a final flourish of berries and a snowfall of powdered sugar, making the tradition feel intimate and entirely our own.

Under crystal chandeliers and shimmering disco balls, we cut into it as guests gathered close, cheering and laughing. The sweetness of the moment was followed by fireworks illuminating the night sky, transforming the cake cutting into something magical and unforgettable.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

From the bride: Ceremony Atmosphere The ceremony took place at Agios Isidoros, a small seaside church connected to land by a narrow stone walkway. I arrived by boat, gliding across the Aegean toward the whitewashed church perched at the water’s edge — a moment that felt cinematic and deeply symbolic. Crossing the water toward the church felt like stepping into something sacred and timeless. The ceremony followed the traditions of the Greek Orthodox faith, rich in symbolism and ritual. A live violinist accompanied the service, her playing filling the church with a softness that made the atmosphere feel even more romantic. Her talent was extraordinary — each note layered gently over the chanting and the distant sound of the sea just beyond the church walls. The result was emotional, intimate, and profoundly tied to place. Music shaped the emotional rhythm of the entire day. Our ceremony featured an incredibly talented live violinist whose playing added a softness and depth that made the atmosphere feel even more romantic. She performed “The Ordinary” by Alex Warren as I stepped off the boat and made my way toward the front of the altar — a moment that felt cinematic and suspended in time. Later in the evening, she performed “Pio Poly” by Mixalis Hatzigiannis for our first dance, her interpretation layering beautifully over the reception and making the moment feel intimate and deeply personal. She carried the emotion from ceremony to celebration seamlessly, creating continuity through every transition. For the reception, we had a live band that played traditional Greek songs, with classics like “Karavia Xiotika” and the unmistakable rhythms of zeibekiko and kalamatiano filling the dance floor and bringing generations together. The sound of live instruments created an atmosphere that felt authentically celebratory and deeply rooted in our culture. As the night evolved, our DJ took over, blending 90s favorites with current hits and house music, giving the celebration a modern edge. The shift in sound kept the energy elevated and the dance floor effortlessly cool. After my father-daughter dance, we surprised our guests by suddenly turning on one of my dad’s favorite songs — “Get Down On It” by Kool & the Gang, the iconic 1980s funk and R&B anthem. The music shifted, the energy lifted, and we broke out onto the dance floor together. It was joyful, spontaneous, and completely us — a moment I will cherish forever. Toward the end of the evening, my father surprised everyone once more by taking the microphone and singing one of his favorite songs live. He was incredible. The crowd was captivated, cheering him on as he owned the moment. It was the perfect closing note to a night we will never forget.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]From the bride: The Church & Our Roots

Choosing Agios Isidoros as our church held deep personal meaning. The name itself was a quiet tribute to Joanne’s late grandfather, Isidoros Koutsoulias. Being married in a church that carried his name felt like honoring a generational thread — past, present, and future woven together in one sacred place.

It also meant the world to us to have Father Damaskinos Ganas, the priest who baptized us both at our community parish in Brooklyn, present for the ceremony in Greece. Getting married in Greece was deeply important to us — our heritage and roots shape who we are, and celebrating our marriage on Greek soil felt like the most authentic way to begin this next chapter together.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

From the bride: Honoring His Mother Apostolos’ late mother was deeply present in our hearts throughout the day. In the months leading up to the wedding, I gathered birthday cards, graduation notes, and name day messages she had written to him over the years. I pieced together words from her handwriting and had them custom embroidered onto a handkerchief as a surprise for him, including it inside his wedding card on the morning of the wedding, so he could carry a piece of her with him. At the reception, we reserved a seat for her at his immediate family table, with a banner hanging in her place as a reminder that she was watching from above. It was our quiet way of honoring her — woven gently into the celebration, present in spirit as we began this new chapter together.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

From the bride: Tambourines & Plate Breaking We gifted custom tambourines to our guests, inviting them to participate in the celebration rather than simply observe it. As the music built, traditional Greek dancing took over, and plates were joyfully broken in true celebratory spirit. It wasn’t staged — it unfolded naturally as laughter, rhythm, and movement carried the night forward. The reception became an immersive expression of Greek joy and hospitality.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Frank and Ella’s favorite snowboarding destination in the world is Whistler. Under the guise of celebrating a close friend’s recent birthday, Frank planned a trip there with two friends, all while secretly orchestrating a proposal. On their very first day on the mountain, however, things didn’t go quite as planned: Frank led Ella down an icy, rocky cliff she wasn’t prepared for, and she slid headfirst down the mountainside on her back, in tears and absolutely furious with him. Deciding the timing was less than ideal, Frank postponed the proposal to the following evening. Frank arranged an intimate dinner at their hotel and casually suggested that Ella “wear something nice.” She immediately reminded him that she had packed only snow gear and had nothing dressy to wear. Sitting on the couch, feeling both suspicious and significantly underdressed, Ella looked up to find Frank in front of her on one knee, holding a ring box and smiling.

With the overall palette kept entirely white, we wanted the food and drinks to bring both color and life to the celebration. We saw the menu as a love letter to France, and to Dordogne in particular, with foie gras, truffles, oysters, a series of colorful cold soups, along with a tomato bar. Naturally, we couldn’t resist adding an American twist, so burgers and fries made a well-timed appearance at midnight. The cocktails were just as personal: kir royals and old fashioneds in tribute to our families, while spritzes and gin basil cocktails were inspired by our travels.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Our florist truly brought the wedding to life. We had fun incorporating a few unexpected touches, like a floral path around the champagne tower, along with a custom flower backdrop and a garland of falling flowers above the head table. Each area was designed to feel distinct, while the flowers themselves remained simple and seasonal. A quiet nod to the beauty of our countryside surroundings.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The wedding cake was where we fully embraced a touch of American flair, grand in scale, beautiful in design, and, of course, delicious! Yet its flavor was rooted in something more intimate: blackberry and vanilla, inspired by childhood memories of gathering berries in the woods with my siblings for our grandmother’s jam.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Designing the invitations myself was a labor of love, and it quickly became one of my favorite parts of the process. There’s something about working with paper that feels inherently beautiful: the play of shadows through embossing, the texture of pressed paper, timeless, delicate, and deeply special. I was incredibly grateful to the team at Letterpress of Paris, who collaborated with such care and patience to make it all come together.[/field]

They say “mariage pluvieux, mariage heureux,” and for us, it couldn’t have been more fitting. Despite the worrying forecasts in the weeks before, the timing of the rain felt almost miraculous. The rain would stop just moments before each of our planned events, then quietly return once they were over. It even tempered the Dordogne’s summer heat. We couldn’t help but feel it was all meant to be.
