Whenever I get weddings like these, it’s almost impossible for me to show off the photographs in a way that makes me completely happy. There is just so much beauty, so much sweetness poured into every image, it’s like picking my favorite pair of shoes. Impossible. So, although we have TONS of Belathee gorgeousness going up from today’s French wedding…feel free to ask for an encore at the end.

Our wedding was held in Merville-Franceville, a little village that hugs the Channel in lower Normandie, France. Grégoire (from France) and I (from Chicago) were an unlikely pair with a chance meeting, so it was fitting for us to try to gather up our loved ones in an unlikely place to celebrate our wedding. Grégoire’s parents, who are from the area, found us a sweet château with space for food and sunshine, and cottages our guests could stay in. While planning, we saw really quickly that we wouldn’t be able to control all of the details from thousands of miles away, so we decided to let Normandie be itself, and we’d arrive a week early to pepper in our ideas.
Some favorite touches we got to import: invitations by Anna Bond of Rifle Design, who came up with the creative idea of using cut paper to go with our decorations, calligraphy by Maybelle Imasa Stukuls (I could stare at her hand lettering all day), a Vera Wang dress snatched from Vows, and shoes from Marc Jacobs.
SO much more to come. but in the meantime you can check out even more goodness in the gallery.

So lovely! Seriously lovely.
Hi Brie, the little figurines are from the Small Object: http://www.etsy.com/shop/thesmallobject
I love all the peonies! This wedding is gorgeous! Would you share where the table number holders are from? Thanks!
Such a beautiful wedding. I want to get married in France, just what was that chateau called?! Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. Belathee, wonderful images, maybe I will have enquire when the time comes x
Thank you so much! The chateau is Chateau de Merville (http://www.chateaumerville14.com/ ) I love the idea of sending Americans into this little village! The owner was great! Also, table number holders were from Crate and Barrel last year.
Cutest. invites. EVER!
Love the invites... where are they from?
STUNNING!!!! Love the French flair. And I'm also loving a wedding that features a multi-ethnic couple. About time, SMP.
Carmella, what a beautiful wedding!! I'm currently trying to plan mine, which will take place in Italy in September, and I'm curious to know, however did you find mariachis in Europe?? Thanks!
Carmella, your wedding looks stunning! I'm planning a bi-national wedding in Normandy myself (from the US!) and I would love a couple of pointers (vendors/celebrants...) I already secured a great location thank god! If you have a moment, could you email me? I would be so grateful! My email address is lchemery [at] hotmail [dot] com
Gorgeous celebration that just conveys, AMOUR!
I'm also planning a wedding in Provence and am wanting a few pointers as well. Mine will probably be a little more low key but I have a few specific questions: 1) Is it needed to go earlier than the guests? We were planning to meet everyone in Paris and train to our destination together. 2) Did you find your florist ahead of time? 3) We are planning to pay for accommodations for our 18 guests but we're wondering is it fair to do a gift registry when you ask them to fly out?
