From Beth…
Every now and then I receive emails from brides searching for the candles used in Louisa and John’s wedding. Truth be told, these were a super easy, DIY project created by my team for the wedding which are so simple, I have even made a few for my personal collection. I find them to be the perfect compliment to not only weddings but to my own holiday decor. So whether you are want to make them for your own nuptials or just looking to dress up that mantel, here’s the scoop:
Materials
Inexpensive Straight Cylinder vase or candle holder (can be found for $3 to $10 at craft stores like Michael’s)
Eyelet Material or material of choice by the yard (We found ours in the fashion district of downtown LA, but there are plenty of resources online as well)
measuring stick
Spray Fabric Adhesive
Scissors
Instructions
1. First measure the height of your glass hurricane and cut the eyelet material to the appropriate width.
2. Spray the fabric adhesive onto the hurricane holder and wrap the candle slowly with the material, being sure to smooth out any wrinkles as you apply the material.
3. Trim the material that isn’t straight or that might be overflowing at the top of the candle holder. Allow to dry for up to 24 hours prior to use.
That’s it! Easy peasy! One last quick tip when searching for the right material for your candle holder. Some people prefer lace or a great sheer, but no matter what make sure to buy fabric by the yard, rather than trim. You will drive yourself crazy searching for a trim that is pre-cut to exactly 9″ wide or whatever the case may be. Also, we intentionally avoided materials with scalloped edging or a delicate trim. This allowed the candle holders to be uniform when we trimmed the final product.

That's gorgeous! I think that I might steal this project for the tables at my reception!
Love this!! Thanks for posting!
Love this. I am going to attempt the project over the weekend in time for holiday gifts!
These are awesome :)
I made these for the wedding decor at a friends' wedding: except we used $1.00 cylinders from the Dollar Tree (score!)
and fancy vellums and cotton papers with double sided tape: gorgeous and we could use the paper afterwards!
OOoooo, Love it!! Viva DIY! :O)

OMG girls! I just did this project on a whim last night. I spent only $40 and I bought:
12 yards of lace ($13 at a Fabric Store) * Trust me, you won't even need that much!
5 small glass votive jars ($0.97 at Walmart)
2 medium glass cylinders ($2.97 at Walmart)
1 can of spray adhesive (Elmer Brand, $5.97 at Walmart)
Tealights (scented, or unscented, 40 lights for $4.27 at Walmart)
6 (scented) larger votive candles (for medium cylinders) ($5.97 at Walmart)
The spray adhesive is genius! Alot of these craft sites will also suggest using glue guns. This is not a good idea because you'll get bleed through and clumping. The spray adhesive is a great idea because the lace goes on so smoothly. I also do not reccommend rolling the lace. Physics has it that the lace will start to roll another way (like a spiral), and won't roll on the cylinder in a clean straight fashion. For this, you'll need to put your hand in the jar, and gently put the lace on, bit by bit. That way, the lace is straight, and flat (won't bunch up).
They looked gorgeous! I will try to come back to the post and show a photo. It was beautiful, and looked so expensive! We're deciding that we're going to give these away as my bridal shower giveaways! They look so good!
Thanks for the idea!!!
This is so cute with the eyelet fabric! I've made something similar with vintage lace, and they turned out oh so pretty!
I love em! Thanks for the idea!

LOVE this idea and am definitely doing this for the holiday season. I am going to due the lace with tea and then tear it up a little bit so that it looks vintage and a little more see through. Thank you so very much for your inspiration!
Great paintings! This is the kind of information that are meant to be shared across the net. Shame on Google for not positioning this post higher! Come on over and seek advice from my website . Thanks =)
