Today, the fabulous Megan Fickling of La Partie Events in Southern Cali is joining us for a morning guest blog. I heart Megan in a big way and I know that some of you do to, thanks to her chic but simple style…and for the fabulous DIY centerpieces that she put together for us a few months back.

So, although I could blab on and on about her talents, I’ll just pass the torch and let Megan take it from here!

I like to develop a vision for flowers that reflects each couple’s style and also complements their venue.  So, I thought I would share several posts about bridal bouquets I’ve created and how they work with the style of each venue.  This first venue is St. Steven’s Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Alhambra, CA, which is a grandiose and elegant space.  The bride Angie is very stylish and was an avid SMP reader and she wanted something romantic and soft for her bouquet.  I used peonies, poppies, ranunculus and parrot tulips in soft pinks and bright oranges.

When choosing your wedding flowers, try to keep the style of your venue in mind.  This next venue is the Marvimon in downtown Los Angeles, a modern and comfy space that attracts fun and creative couples.  The bride Nicole wore an amazing, classically styled dress which inspired a bouquet that mixed the classic with the modern.  In her bouquet, I used classic white roses, white spray roses, green coffee bean and locally grown “super green” roses.  These amazing photos are by Sweet Monday Photography (www.sweetmondayphotography.com).
