Wedding Colors ~ A Profusion of Pink And Grey From Weddings And The City
When Kristin Vining sent us this recent Charlotte wedding that her sister company Weddings And The City helped orchestrate, we were blown away by the details!
Elle and Todd were married this spring at The Green Uptown in Charlotte, NC. Their gray, pink, fuschia, purple {and every shade in-between} color palette was their inspiration and boy did they run with it! What a perfect palette for oodles and oodles of rose petals, crystals and orchids …
… not to mention a clear tent, silver chivari chairs, stunning linens and … well, you get the picture!
From Courtenay at Weddings And The City …
Elle had envisioned her wedding day all of her life! She knew exactly what she wanted! The BIG day took place in uptown Charlotte, at The Green, with the ceremony on the top tier, cocktail hour on the middle tier and the reception on the bottom tier in a clear top tent. Although Mother Nature worked against us most of the day, it stopped just in time for the ceremony and held off during the reception. It was absolutely gorgeous and full of color!
Elle, today’s beautiful bride, was raised by her grandparents. She knew that someday, somehow, she would find that same true love that they had shared ~ a love filled with absolute care and respect. She vowed to settle for nothing less. After her grandfather passed away, her devotion to her grandmother and her dream to find the same kind of love that her grandparents had shared, eventually led her to Todd.

I know it sounds cliché, but I knew from the first moment we locked eyes that we had a connection. Todd is everything and more I could have ever hoped for. Todd is my fairytale ending and one of the most amazing people I have ever met.
We thank both of you, Elle & Todd for reminding us that old-fashioned love and devotion still rules! And thanks to Kristin, Courtenay (WATC) and all of the other fabulous vendors who helped this day become Elle & Todd’s fairy-tale day come true!

They are Martinez Valero CANDY. On Zappos, the only size left in the pink shoe is a 10. But you might try the white shoe and have it dyed?

The bridesmaid's shoes are by Martinez Valero purchased at Nordstrom. The bridesmaids dresses are J.Crew.

The groom's tie is from Neiman Marcus. The day, the bride, the team of vendors, the colors were all picture perfect! SUCH a fun time!!!

*Bridesmaids Dresses - JCrew.com (they were AMAZING to work with) The color is silver mist, silk taffeta...which is very similar to the light pewter color they are now offering. Keep an eye out because I was able to get mine on sale!
*My dress - Monique Lhuillier. I purchased it from NY Bride and Loft in Charlotte, NC. It was a sample dress bought off the rack. Anna with Anna's alterations did an insanely great job adjusting it to fit me. If you are anywhere near Charlotte I HIGHLY recommend her!
*The sash on my dress was custom made by Shea Nicole Designs here in Charlotte. Again, Shea was seriously the best. She even came to my hotel wedding day and tied the sash for me! Can't say enough great things about her!
*The flowergirl dress was also purchased from JCrew.com. It looks like they no longer have it but they have some super adorable stuff right now to choose from!
*The tuxes were rented from The Tuxedo Lady. The brand is Calvin Klein. If you're in the area Lashonda was FABULOUS to work with!!!!!! (www.tuxedolady.com)
*I picked up the flip-flops from Old Navy and they were a hit! I think we bought around 20 pair...seriously the best $50 we spent!
*The backless dress my friend Melissa is wearing came from a boutique in LA. I wish I knew more about it...I'll keep you posted if I'm able to find out which boutique.

*The hanging butterflies are from Neiman Marcus here in Charlotte. The crazy unpredictable wind that day turned them into a hot mess so beware! LOL

Honestly, I think the color combi was too matchy matchy/overdone.
I did like the reception--not a big fan of the wedding entourage.

Wow! The colors you picked are awesome! Even some of the guests seem to match your wedding with their attire! Those colors are so hot right now and to pick them so far in advance and then have guests show up mathcing your wedding shows just how in tune you are with hot trends! Definitely not to matchy matchy, but very intouch with what is in style!!!!

It looked to me like the shoes were Martinez Valero. I looked online and found her color on Zappos but they no longer sell it. I am sure that you could order the white or ivory and dye them to your wedding color. The style name is candy and I found them on both www.zappos.com and www.dsw.com

Elle had a family friend design and print her stationary. I would suggest teaming up with a local graphic designer. In addition, you can go to your local Michael's and choose different paperstocks. Super easy stuff, cost effective AND custom!! xoxo
