A Stunning Floral Arch Set the Scene for a Chic Garden Wedding

The weekend is so very close and we’ve got just the thing to get you through the Friday afternoon slump. It’s wedding eye candy straight from the lens of Daniel Kim with a floral arch that’ll stop you dead in your tracks. Run to The Vault for lots, lots more and consider this treat your weekend started off right.

From Daniel Kim Photography… A natural peach and green inspired wedding at Radonich wedding for Esther and Chris had us shooting all day because we couldn’t get enough. Add guests that were a loud and happy group and an outdoor dinner in the clean evening air, and we knew that it had been a perfect wedding.

Lorraine Lee with Harvesting Love Events and Ivanka from Studio Mondine teamed up to bring an aesthetically cohesive event, taking into account that the couple wanted to make sure to include personal elements such as their two dogs, and to make sure that Chris’s mom was included with a gift of flowers on the big day.

The best part of the night was when during the dances, Chris surprised his mom by grabbing her wheelchair and pulling her onto the dance floor. From start to finish, this wedding was perfect not just in aesthetics and details, but also in human elements of kindness and compassion.

They Said “I Do” On the Same Day Her Grandparents Did 50 Years Earlier

As soon as this gorgeous bride and her handsome groom decided on a wedding date, the same date on which her grandparents said “I do” fifty years earlier, they knew they wanted to design a timeless, elegant wedding. With Victorian details to highlight her grandmother’s favorite era, this sweet couple paid homage to their families and started off their life as husband and wife in beautiful style. So much more to see from Koman Photography and ByDesign Films in The Vault!

From The Bride…Ever since I was a little girl I have been envisioning the wedding I would once have. I knew I would have beautiful pink flowers, an amazing photographer, décor that would leave a lasting impression on my guests, etc. The only thing I couldn’t see was who I would pledge my love to for the rest of my life, that is until I met Victor. He set up a picture perfect proposal that I will never forget because these precious moments were beautifully documented by Koman Photography. As soon as I said yes, I couldn’t wait to start planning one of the biggest days in our lives. The first vendor we booked was the amazing photographers Koman Photography to capture the important day with a timeless and elegant feel. We then decided to choose August 9, 2015 as our date. We were excited to have a day and at the same time felt blessed to be married on the same day my grandparents did 50 years before us. For this reason, Victor and I really wanted to convey a timeless and elegant wedding that highlighted my grandma’s favorite era in memory of her. For this reason, we chose a beautiful mansion called the Ambassador Mansion and Gardens built in the 1900’s located in Pasadena, CA. Because of this we utilized pops of gold and Victorian elegance throughout the wedding décor. We put emphasis on these elements from getting ready to the reception. We used the garden that the owner of the mansion built for his wife as our ceremony cite and decorated with lush white flowers and greenery (he built this for her to have celebrations in). Our reception was held on the lawn with the mansion overlooking it underneath a white chiffon tent with hanging chandeliers. In the end, we wanted to leave a lasting impression on our guests of how important family is to us and really wanted our personalities to shine through the wedding décor.

Couple’s ‘First Home’ Engagement Session with their Sweet English Mastiff

This engagement session everything (and then some). Celebrating their new status with the sweetest at home e-sessionAbby Jiu Photography captured every cozy chic moment to share. Graced with major interior design moments, the cutest couple ever, and a few puppy kisses, we’ve got all that and more waiting in The Vault!

From The Bride…Originally I didn’t want to do an engagement photo session. I generally don’t love pictures of myself, and I thought the whole process would be kind of uncomfortable. However, after talking to our photographer, the amazing Abby Jiu, she convinced me that doing an engagement session would be the best thing, precisely because of those reasons. She said that the engagement session would give both my fiance, Doug, and me a chance to get comfortable with her, and with being photographed in general. Also, we would get the opportunity to see professional photos of ourselves before the wedding day.

Everything she said made complete sense, but I still wasn’t sure. After talking about it with Doug, and pretty much anyone else who would listen, I decided we should trust the expert, and just go for it. And I will tell you honestly, I am SO SO happy I did!! Everything Abby said was true. The experience of the photo session was beyond helpful, and then seeing the beautiful photographs that came from it, just made us more excited for what our wedding photos would look like. And for a couple who doesn’t like how they look in most photographs–that in and of itself was amazing!

Once we decided that the engagement session was a go, Doug and I thought long and hard about where we should do the shoot. I searched Pinterest, magazines, and of course Style Me Pretty for ideas, but I was having a really hard time deciding. Engagement sessions on the beach, or in a park under the trees, or in a garden, always look so beautiful, but that type of location just didn’t really feel like “us.”

Around the same time we were trying to decide on a location for the session, Doug and I closed on our first house. We bought a beautiful home in Capitol Hill, in Washington D.C. And after that happened, the location of our photo session seemed like a no brainer. What could be more “us” than our own home? Plus, if we did the shoot in our new house, we not only would be documenting the engagement, but also our first home together. I couldn’t think of anything more perfect.

Well…that isn’t entirely true. I thought of one more thing– our 150 lb English Mastiff, Buffy! She is our baby, and there is no way the engagement photos would be complete without her. Besides, Buffy has been part of our the wedding journey from the very beginning.

The night that Doug proposed, he told me we were meeting friends at the Four Seasons Hotel in Georgetown for drinks. I was almost finished getting ready, when Doug called me into the living room and there he was, down on one knee, with the most gorgeous ring, and beside him sat Buffy, tongue out, with a beautiful sign tied around her neck that said “Will You Marry My Daddy?” It was absolutely perfect! After the actual proposal, I assumed we were still meeting our friends for drinks to celebrate, but in reality Doug had arranged a surprise engagement party at the Four Seasons, with our families and close friends. The whole night was beyond amazing, but involving Buffy made it extra extra special.

Buffy was an integral part of the proposal, and she would be there the day of the wedding, so we decided she definitely needed to be in our engagement photos.

The day of the photo session came, and thankfully our new house came together. I was worried we wouldn’t have furniture to sit on, a dining room table, or curtains, (the curtains went up literally the day before the shoot) but thankfully it all came together. We took most of the photographs in our living room and dining room and a few right in front of our house. Doug and I felt very comfortable and relaxed because we were in our own space.

In terms of wardrobe, Doug and I just wanted to look like ourselves. I wore my favorite Equipment blouse, Rag and Bone Jeans, and a pair of old Prada flats. Doug wore his favorite blue J. Mclaughlin sweater and khakis. Obviously, the most important accessory was our beloved baby, Buffy, and she looks perfect wearing nothing at all!

In closing, I would tell a bride who may be hesitant about doing an engagement session that I was beyond happy that we decided to do it. Not only do I have photographs documenting that exciting time in our lives, but we also have pictures of our first home together! And I have to say, it absolutely helped in terms of being comfortable with Abby the day of our wedding.

So, the bottom line is, if you have the opportunity to do engagement photos, don’t pass it up. Oh- and definitely include your pup if you have one!

An Awe Inducing Floral Arch to End All Floral Arches

There are floral arches, and then there are spell-bounding floral arches that seriously stun. This one, being the latter of the two. Crafted by the massively talented Zavion Kotze Event Company, this celebration captured by Rensche Mari is awe-inspiring to say the least. From the Bride’s gorge La Sposa By Pronovias to her Emmy London shoes, we’ve got it all waiting for you in The Vault!

From Rensche MariBeautiful florals, Rose Golds, Champagne and a beautiful Garden ceremony.

This classic wedding took place in an enchanting backdrop at the french inspired boutique venue, Le Chatelat, situated in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The theme of the wedding was perfectly chosen by the bridal couple to showcase their romantic and elegant style with a dash of Scottish traditions, that was perfected by Zavion Kotze Events Company.

This elegant and classy affair was inspired by the botanical theme and colors of the flowers used in the dramatic hanging flower arrangements filled with mixed proteas, gorgeous pink king proteas, majestic orchids, blush roses and various greenery to set the tone and to create a yesteryear greenhouse look.

The stationery, created by Chrystalace Wedding Stationery, set the scene for the wedding, where each guest received a watercolor painted invitation neatly packaged into a custom pocket finished off with a velvet ribbon and rose gold foiling details to add that bit of glam. The look of the stationery matched the tablescapes and the added element of rose gold was repeated in the tableware and cloths used as part of the decor that set the scene for this beautiful garden ceremony and translucent marquee reception area.

The beautiful bride, Carmen, was dressed in a simplistic yet gorgeous gown from Pronovias, where the John, the groom, proudly wore a wedding Kilt paying homage to his Scottish heritage.

One of the decor elements that stood out was the beautiful floral arch where the couple said their I do’s and the gorgeous four tier cake by Kelly Jane. It was a small intimate South African wedding with people coming in from all corners of the world to come join in this wedding celebration; showcasing tears, laughter and obviously drinking the best champagne paired with amazing food beautifully photographed by Rensche Mari.

Boho Chic Style + Lush Bouquets Are Our Engagement Must-Haves

When an injury threatened to post-pone their e-shoot, worries began but no need to fret! Fate had it in the cards that these special moments were to be captured by Hello Blue Photo no matter what and the finished product is perfect. From the Bride-to-be’s bouquet to chic summer styles that I want to wear 24/7, we’ve got a home run. Oh and these sweet kisses? Too cute for words. More in our Vault this way!

From Hello Blue Photo… You know how sometimes things go absolutely wrong, and it turns out to be a beautiful mess? THIS was one of those things! Rylee and Mike are getting married next year, June 2017, and one of the things they wanted was to have their engagement session on the same date in June 2016. We had the session all planned out… until Mike tore his PCL and MCL! He was going to have to have immediate surgery, and wouldn’t be able to make it through an engagement session. We were all so bummed, but then I had a date open up to do the session earlier than planned. Rylee and Mike were so excited, and we moved forward! Her florist, Amne from Julep Bloom Design, was even able to pull off the most amazing, wild bouquet last minute for the session!

Rylee and Mike were a dream to shoot. They have been together since Jr. High School (yes, you read that right!), and their chemistry was so evident right away. The lighting was perfect, and their style was impeccable! I was able to shoot the entire session hybrid, and deliver almost their entire gallery in film, Fuji 160NS scanned by Richard Photo Lab. I just love when you think everything is going wrong, but it turns out it was all going perfectly right after all!

A Black and White Wedding That’s Classic As Can Be

This wedding is so beautiful that while scrolling through the gallery I literally forgot to breathe. That’s right, I got so distracted by all the pretty from Heather Payne Photography that I almost passed out, and honestly can you blame me? For this darling pair planned their entire classic fete in just eight short weeks, well we’d say that’s worth holding our breath for. See the entire Southern affair in The Vault!

From The Bride…Ben and I met on Tinder about a year ago and our love affair has been fast and amazing. After our third date we knew we were “soul mates”. We moved in together after a few months and got engaged after a year! Ben proposed in front of both of our immediate families on the Emory campus. We planned our wedding in 8 weeks because when you meet your soul mate, it isn’t about the wedding day, it is about spending the rest of your lives together! We wanted our guests to feel the love that we have for each other, and have a really awesome time on the dance floor. We envisioned the first night of our life together to be just as beautiful as the rest.

This is Quite Possibly the Dreamiest Nursery We’ve Ever Seen

Dreamy and whimsical are good adjectives to have in your corner if you’re a nursery and this pretty, pretty gem is totally killing it in both categories. Using a soft, pastel palette and loads of charming details Alyssa Fantin outfitted her daughter’s space in a sea of goodies and it all starts with a swan princess. Tour even more captured by Meg Perotti  in the VAULT.

Once we found out we were expecting, I couldn’t wait to create an airy, cozy and dreamy nursery for our baby girl. Hours were spent sourcing items online and creating moodboards, all while looking down at my growing belly and wondering who this sweet babe would be.

As fate had it, Taylor arrived earlier than expected and the only completed tasks were wallpaper installation and furniture assembly. Although bringing her home to an unfinished room was disappointing at first, the outcome was creating a space that was truly reflective of her favorite things, personality and special keepsakes from her first year of life.

With each passing month, her room slowly came together as we layered in items that brought so much happiness to our whole family.

Some of the most treasured pieces in this space are the ones that carry a great deal of meaning behind them. A linen banner with a hand painted passage from our favorite Nancy Tillman book hangs above her dresser. The sheep sitting next to her crib has been in the family for two decades and adorns the same rose gold crown Taylor wore during her newborn session.

The handmade doll on the dresser was purchased by her Dada because the dark hair, rosy cheeks, and crown bore a striking resemblance to his baby girl. We can’t wait to share the story of these pieces with Taylor as she grows older.

This space has turned out to be so much more than where Taylor sleeps and gets her diapers changed. It is the place in which countless games of peekaboo, father-daughter dances, bedtime stories and sweet slumber rocking has occurred. These photos are a priceless reminder of the most significant and joyful year of our lives.

We’re Majorly Crushing on This Bride’s Ombre Blush Petal-Covered Wedding Dress

Some pieces of clothing are a work of art, and Ryan’s Theia blush pink ombré petal-covered wedding dress from Lovely Bride is precisely that: a masterpiece. And it’s just the first of many in this day from Katydid Signature Floral & Event Design. From the bride’s wedding dress to the pretty pink Joanna August bridesmaids’ dresses to the lush flowers, every inch of this day is just waiting to be pinned in The Vault. Head there now to see every gorgeous detail, captured by Christina Lilly Photography.

From Katydid Signature Floral & Event DesignIt was a delightful experience working with Ryan and Dave to design a wedding for them which was as unique as they are!

Ryan’s bridal gown was white to pick ombre, and her entire “look” lent itself perfectly to a boho-chic wedding style.

They were married under the most unique and handcrafted arbor at the Spring Lake Golf Club, in front of all of the people that the love, on a sunny and gently windy day.

Ryan and Dave designed their own save the date cards, invitations, and programs. Dave’s uncle performed the wedding ceremony, and the vows read aloud were love letters which the couple wrote to one another.

The ballroom of the golf club was transformed into a warm and rustic setting. We designed an untraditional layout, with a 24’ long head table, and multi sized round tables, all which were covered in La Tavola Linens, mixed with bare farm tables. Flowers and loose garlands were on each table, with candlelight galore.

The Dreamiest Oceanside Wedding You’ll Ever See

The inspiration behind this coastal wedding day was perfectly summed up by the bride in two little words: ethereal beauty. With the help of Meadowsweet Events and Plenty of Petals they completely pulled it off, and Carmen Santorelli photographed the images we can’t stop staring at. Go see them all inside The Vault!

From The Bride…Planning our wedding was full of decision making, so what helped guide and inspire the process was our relationship. Our goal was to bring out the best in each other and stay true to our personalities. It was important to feel comfortable and special while fulfilling our dreams for the special day.

We took our time choosing the venue but once we walked into the Darlington House everything felt right. We were looking for a coastal venue as our hearts are connected to the ocean. The Darlington House lays a block from the beach. It is elegant and oh so romantic!

To best describe the inspiration for our wedding style, flowers and my dress I would refer to “ethereal beauty”. The idea was to have a simple yet a delicate look. I am happy to have found a dress that matched my personality which made wearing it so easy. The flowers were simple, soft and full of green details as if I had just picked them off the field (and somehow arranged them in the most amazing way, thank you Plenty of Petals).

It was also our top priority to book an outstanding photographer and a videographer. Your day can be planned to be as beautiful as ever but if it is not photographed and recorded accordingly it may not reflect the actual moments. We were fortunate to work with Carmen Santorelli and Fate Studios who did an excellent job in creating us the most beautiful memories of our special day. Overall, I found that the most important thing in your wedding are the people. Our officiate was the pastor from our family’s church, so we felt comfortable and confident. I also knew that I wanted to walk down the aisle by the sound of the harp, for that we had an amazing harpist Naomi Alter.

We had a blast at our wedding along with our guests who danced to the music played by DJ Mikey Beats. It was a memorable party for everyone. Just follow your heart (and gut feeling), enjoy your big day and it will be the most beautiful day of your lives!

Old Hollywood Meets a Secret Garden in This LA Wedding

Central to any successful relationship is compromise, and while this Bride and Groom compromised on the perfect venue, which combined her love of nature with his appreciate for Old Hollywood Glamour, one thing they didn’t compromise on was a fabulous day. With vendors like Ryon:Lockhart PhotographyGeller EventsDavid Medill Productions and The Hidden Garden, every detail of this day came together perfectly. See it all in The Vault!

From The Bride…Everybody says it, but the day really goes by so fast. You try your best to hold on to the precious moments, but after a blink the ceremony is done, and then you blink again and the band is already packing up. But even though it went by quick as a flash, we wouldn’t have changed a millisecond of it. Beautifully planned by Paige Blatt of Geller Events (lucky for us she was also one of my bridesmaids and best friends!), and extraordinarily captured by Ryon Lockhart Photography, our wedding was everything we wanted it to be and so much more.

Picking a venue was difficult, we weren’t sure if we would ever find that “perfect spot” to get married, but the second we stepped foot into the Garland Hotel we knew we had found “the one” (no pun intended). A hidden garden oasis in the middle of Studio City, it perfectly encapsulated my love of nature and my husband, Kyle’s, love of the old school Hollywood aesthetic. Our ceremony was in their beautiful lush garden, the cocktail hour was in an outdoor courtyard where we strung twinkle lights and brought in an acoustic trio, and the party was in the ballroom which we transformed into a vision of rustic romance.

Part of what made our wedding so unique, were all the little details we tried to incorporate, not just on our wedding day, but throughout the entire weekend. Our out of town guests were greeted at the hotel with welcome bags where we had personalized water bottles, some of our favorite goodies, and a custom made map (thanks, Geller Events!) of all of our favorite spots around Los Angeles. On the wedding day, glasses of champagne were being passed which had custom stirrers with our wedding date and initials on them. And in the ballroom, each seat had a mini Tabasco bottle, with the cutest custom sticker on it, including a bar code of our wedding date. Kyle and I love spicy food so we had to make sure to have some hot sauce accessible!

Yes, wedding planning can be stressful, and yes, sometimes it seems like it’s too daunting to manage, but when that day arrives, and everything is in motion, and you find yourself marrying your best friend in front of all of the most important people in your life, you realize that it was all worth it. Every tasting, every meeting, every fitting – worth it – even if it does only last a second.

Making a Big Design Impact in a Bathroom with a Tiny Budget

If you died over this gorgeous kitchen with the Santorini vibes, just wait until you get a load of the bathrooms behind this project. They have that same pop of cobalt accented with gold details and moments that make a big impact for little cost. Designers Megan Papworth and Dawn Terry of E. Interiors worked their magic and the result is a shining example of what you can do with a small budget.

The guest bathroom and powder room refreshes were added on to the project once the renovations to the kitchens were underway. Because they were an add-on, there was a very small budget to complete these two spaces. These refreshes are a great example of what can be done a space on a small budget.

The powder room posed an interesting challenge because the walls were originally faux painted. We took this opportunity to use a bold navy blue floral wallpaper to really make a statement in the small space.

We also included a shiplap wall for added texture in the space and then re-installed the original sink and facet, since the budget did not have room for replacing those. We also added a gorgeous gold and milk glass pendant.

In the guest bathroom we painted the existing cabinetry and installed gorgeous gold hardware from ATG Stores. We used a gorgeous carrara marble title for the backsplash wall that they took all the way up to the ceiling for maximum impact.

We also replaced the builders grade mirror with the Tork Brass Dripping Mirror from CB2.

I have to say Amanda and Craig’s Texas wedding was planned to perfect, thanks to Vintage&Lace‘s incredible vision and talent. But one of my favorite parts of this day isn’t something that could be planned — it’s the bluebonnet flowers, which surrounded Heritage House and made for the most beautiful photos. Luckily, Loft Photography LLC was there to capture it all for us in The Vault!

From Loft PhotographyAmanda and Craig are Austinites through and through, but recently made the move to California for work. It was only appropriate that they came back to tie the knot in the Texas hill country just outside the city they love, complete with a What-a-burger groom’s cake!

Their wedding day was sweet as could be with gorgeous blue tones weaved throughout, and perfectly pink florals by Petal Pushers as a lovely contrast. And it just so happened that the hills were blanketed with bluebonnets for their day – the prettiest backdrop for these two!
