A Cozy Lake House Inn Wedding Designed with Romantic Plum Tones and Golden Accents

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Kaitlyn & Billy’s wedding was a winter fairytale dream–filled with rich plums and soft mauves, with glints of gold as the metallic accent. Their Valentine’s weekend wedding was as romantic as possible and a jewel-toned dream.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Lavish Haus Design Company did a phenomenal job bringing Kaitlyn & Billy’s winter wonderland to life. The romantic and cozy environment of the Lake House Inn was enhanced with the rich, warm colors and abundant florals. The design elements were clean and minimalistic with geometric signage throughout, mirrored in the diamond menus with a gold tassel.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Kaitlyn is a rheumatologist, and Billy is a gastroenterologist. They actually met at the hospital where they both worked, and then discovered they lived in the same apartment building! Billy proposed the perfect way for the two of them–at home, with just them. He had planned a party with their family at a later time, which was such a thoughtful touch.

Kaitlyn’s blush Galia Lahav gown was a show-stopper. The lace-adorned ball gown with delicate sleeves and layers of tulle was the perfect choice, especially since the venue was coated in over 6 inches of snow that day. Her blush gown stood out against the white and was dramatic and romantic in the best way possible.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

Kaitlyn’s bridesmaids were clad in Jenny Yoo velvet gowns in a deep purple. The eggplant shade matched the theme and decor perfectly, and the velvet texture accentuated the romance and coziness of their wedding.

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]

Kaitlyn and Billy are both doctors, and their signature drinks were cheekily named after medical ailments each of them treats often. Their cocktail hour food was beautifully passed appetizers such as warm soup and other comfort foods, perfect for a snowy day. The menu for dinner was filled with beautiful, rich, winter food such as steak with chimichurri sauce and chicken provençal.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The stunning florals by Gardena Florals were so perfect for the day. The rich tones and soft pinks set the entire romantic feeling for the day. The florals were abundant–from the beautiful bouquets to the floral meadow for the ceremony, delicate florals adorned every space. Kaitlyn’s stunning bouquet of delicate roses, bold ranunculus, graceful anemones, and whimsical sweet peas tied everything together with a mauve bow.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

JAM catering did a beautiful job with Kaitlyn & Billy’s cake. It was a lavender pound cake with raspberry jam, even tying the colors of the day into the cake. The gorgeous, white, 3-tiered cake was decorated with more of the florals from the day for a cohesive design.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

The Philadelphia String Quartet brought immense romance to both the ceremony and the cocktail hour. The wedding party entered to a stunning string rendition of Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams,” followed by Kaitlyn entering to “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. They then performed during cocktail hour, setting the beautiful tone for intimate conversations and a romantic atmosphere.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

The most special detail that was completely unplanned was the unexpected snowstorm that coated Kaitlyn and Billy’s wedding in glittering white. Kaitlyn had said her vision for their February wedding was a “winter wonderland,” and the snow certainly added to the magic. Kaitlyn was more than willing to go out in the snow and take photos, which made for the most breathtaking images of the couple.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

There were so many special, customized details. Their custom-created monogram was displayed on cocktail napkins, drink stirrers, and, of course, in their signage.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

Kaitlyn & Billy’s favorite late-night snack is Domino’s pizza, so they surprised their guests with pizzas towards the end of the reception. It was a hit, even on the dance floor!

A Maui Oceanfront Celebration Blending Tropical Elegance with Spiritual Connection

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Creams, whites, tans, greens, blues[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Held oceanfront at Olowalu, Mady and Josh’s wedding brought together elevated tropical design with deeply personal, spiritual elements. The couple worked closely with us to create a celebration that felt intimate, intentional, and reflective of their values.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Josh and Mady met at a pickleball tournament. Originally, they were supposed to play pickleball with a group of people; however, last minute, Mady decided to bail and watch a pickleball tournament that was taking place at a different location. Needless to say, the Universe had different plans for them, and it started raining in Austin, Texas. Ultimately, the tournament was moved to the original pickleball facility, and Josh and Mady finally met. Josh describes it as being struck by lightning when he first saw Mady walk in and immediately asked his friend who she was. It was love at first sight for both of them, and they knew immediately that it was going to be life-changing. Neither Josh nor Mady had marriage on their minds- but naturally, it was easy to envision a future of love and creating a life together. It feels like our love has always been guided by a higher authority. Since the moment they met, it’s truly felt like destiny. Josh proposed under the tree in his backyard in Austin, Texas, where he would meditate every day and call in the feeling of pure and unconditional love. He would try to feel what it would feel like and feel the energy of it. When he met Mady, he knew this was the same energy, and he knew right away that he wanted to marry her. Josh proposed after 3 months and says that he would have proposed sooner if they were able to ship the ring to Maui. He even purchased two rings because one of them would take longer to be ddeliveredand he couldn’t wait an extra 3 weeks!

Once guests were seated, an amuse bouche of coconut risotto with edamame, Molokai shrimp, kaffir lime, lilikoi, and mango gastrique was served, followed by a refreshing farm-to-table salad. The couple opted to serve their guests a Chef’s coursing menu for maximum enjoyment: – From the sea: macnut crusted fresh catch with beurre noisette, lilikoi, Molokai coconut whipped potatoes and zucchini ribbons – From the land: slow roasted ribeye, pistachio date pesto, chili pepper emulsion and crispy Tuscan potatoes. And vegan guests enjoyed: – First Course: roasted winter squash, lilikoi, Molokai coconut whipped potatoes – Second Course: local grown mushrooms, pistachio date pesto, chili pepper emulsion, and crispy Tuscan potatoes. For their entree. Drinks were handcrafted mocktails or cocktails and infused with mushrooms: – Enlightened-mint: ginger spritzer, fresh mint, chaga, lion’s man,e and bitters (add tequila to make it a cocktail) – Kula Krush: vodka, guava muddle strawberry, basil with a ginger infusion

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Design details were layered with meaning: quartz crystal place cards symbolized clarity and love; hydrangea and tropical blooms nodded to nostalgia and place; and overhead crystal chandeliers added sophistication to the open-air dinner beneath a custom-built dance canopy. The couple’s aesthetic drew inspiration from Serena & Lily (clean, coastal, and textural), touches of garden romanticism, with spiritual realism.

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]The ceremony, officiated by their close friend and spiritual mentor @stefanossifandos, began with a sound bowl healing led by @vylana—a grounding ritual the couple regularly practices. A full floral arch of white and blue hydrangea, chosen in honor of the bride’s grandmother, anchored the oceanfront setting.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Guests sipped fresh coconut water from a live chopping station upon arrival and sampled mushroom-infused mocktails and cocktails during cocktail hour.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

At the reception, a tattoo artist offered real tattoos, which was a bold and memorable experience. Justin Blake offered guests the opportunity to receive meaningful tattoos thoughtfully chosen by the bride and groom. Each design was a reflection of intention—ranging from delicate, fine-lined artwork to bold whale tail motifs, honoring the majestic presence of the whales migrating through Maui’s waters during this sacred season. Justin Blake continuously tattooed throughout the end of the reception and still had a waitlist of 20 guests. It was one of the most unique parts of this reception.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

A live artist was also present throughout the reception and painted a photo that she took of the couple as they walked up the aisle. Guests were able to watch her skill manifest into the final product by the end of the night for the couple to take home. Every element from custom vow books to the bride’s bespoke dress was considered. The result was a celebration that felt romantic, meaningful, and entirely their own.

Your Personal Wedding Planning Terminology Dictionary!

Vendors in the wedding industry have created many unique terms for the wedding world. Many of these terms are spoken without regard to the fact couples may have no idea what they mean! To help you in meetings, research, and general wedding planning, I’ve put together your own personal wedding planning terminology dictionary with a focus on terms that are not necessarily common knowledge.

Al Fresco: A term that means “out in the open air” and is often associated with open air dining. An outdoor reception would be an al fresco reception (my favorite kind!)

Bridal Party: As a photographer, I have noticed some confusion around this term. Most commonly, the term bridal party is meant to refer to the bride and groom, as well as the bridesmaids and groomsmen. Typically, this does not refer to the family or general guests, although some might use it to include them as well as the bridesmaids and groomsmen.

Charger: I’ll admit that I had no idea what a charger was until 2013. A charger is a decorative plate upon which all other dining plates rest. It’s the ultimate place setting eye candy.

Cocktail Hour: The gap between the ceremony and reception during which guests enjoy libations and dine on appetizers. This time can last an hour or sometimes 90 minutes if more photos or reception set up cannot fit within an hour.

Coordinator: The person or business hired to coordinate the wedding timeline and oversee the wedding day logistics.

Dummy Cake: A faux cake that looks real. A Styrofoam cake shape covered in icing that can be more cost effective than a real cake layer. You can have an entire dummy cake and sheet cake waiting to be served, or a dummy layer on top of a real layer to increase the size of your cake.

Escort Card: Essentially a place/name card, the escort card designates which table a guest will take their seat.

First Look: The moment where a couple sees each other before the ceremony. The first look can happen between the couple, bride and her bridesmaids, or the bride and her father. You can do one or all of the above!

Flatlay: A flatlay refers to a photo taken at an above-view angle that typically is of stationery, accessories, flowers, or other wedding details that have been carefully styled.

Flatware: Dining utensils: forks, knives, spoons.

Flipping the Space (A Flip): When your reception will occur in the same space as your ceremony, the vendors will have to “flip the space” during the cocktail hour to transform it to the reception setup.

Glassware: A fancy way of referring to drinking glasses such as wine glasses or water goblets.

Grazing Table: A table for appetizers such as cheeses and meats or fruits that guests may graze at during cocktail hour or the reception.

Head Table: Typically, the head table does not mean the same thing as a sweetheart table, which only seats the couple. Head tables include either or both the bridal party and families, depending on who the couple wants at their table. Two long tables, or perhaps three, would be seamlessly adjoined to accommodate the group.

Hybrid Photographer: A photographer that shoots both digital and film photos.

Processional: The first walk down the aisle to commence the wedding ceremony.

Recessional: The second and final walk down the aisle after the wedding ceremony concludes.

Sample Sale (Gowns): A bridal boutique will occasionally host a sample sale in which gowns are available off the rack instead of special order. This means they are available immediately, as-is, with no wait time. Sample sales usually offer a discount on the sample gowns.

Second Shooter: A second photographer- not to be confused with the police or military version.

Sheet Cake: A cost effective cake that is made on a large rectangular baking sheet that can be easily cut and served to guests.

Signature Cocktail: A pre-selected cocktail, chosen by the couple, that is presented on a cocktail menu. Signature cocktails can be named to represent the couple or their interests/hobbies/history. Ex: The Catalina (location where the couple became engaged).

Sweetheart Table: A table for just the married couple.

Tablescape: The entire décor of the reception table from the linens to the centerpieces to the dinnerware make up a tablescape.

Tray Pass: Refers to the service in which catering staff walks throughout the reception or cocktail hour space offering appetizers or drinks from a tray.

Trunk Show (Gowns): An event in which a bridal boutique will be hosting a large collection of gowns, not normally in the shop, from a specific wedding dress designer. Trunk shows often feature a temporary discount on these gowns, which disappear from the shop after the event concludes.

Unplugged Ceremony: A ceremony during which no phones or cameras are used for taking photos. Guests will be present at the wedding and the professional photos will be free of phones held in the aisle and above the seats. The term “unplugged wedding” is also meant to refer to the ceremony. Designate this with a sign and always have the officiant announce this before the ceremony for best results.

Uplighting: Lighting that comes from several lighting units places along the perimeter of the space that project light upwards on the walls, trees, etc.

A Mocha and Burgundy Inspired Wedding Designed with Layers at Villa Zosaneli

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”The Inspiration”]

Set against the backdrop of Villa Zosaneli, a new private estate in the hills of San Diego, this celebration brought together elegance, intentional design, and a refined use of color. Inspired by Pantone’s color of the year, mocha mousse, the aesthetic married warm earth tones with rich burgundies and soft, floral-forward accents. The goal? To bring traditionally moody colors into a summer setting in a way that felt elevated, dimensional, and effortlessly luxe.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

A dynamic blend of mocha, burgundy, dusty rose, and cream wove through every detail, from hand-painted candles to custom stationery. Delicate floral patterns softened the tablescape, appearing on clay dinner plates, embroidered linens, and even candle vessels, while tonal layering gave the overall look depth and cohesion. Each element was curated to reflect the palette without overwhelming the senses, allowing color to act as both backdrop and focal point.

[/field]
[field title=”The Venue”]

Villa Zosaneli is one of San Diego’s newest private estate venues and is quickly becoming a standout for couples looking for that perfect blend of natural beauty and elegant architecture. The ceremony took place beneath the venue’s white pergola, framed by lush landscaping and serene fountains. The romantic setting set the tone for a day that felt both luxurious and grounded in nature.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Florals by Flower Snob played a starring role in the design. The arrangements were lush and unstructured, with deep burgundy blooms, dusty rose touches, and dried textures to add movement and dimension. Tabletop decor included crystal-cut glassware, luxe fabric menus by Type and Trim, and hand-painted pillar candles that tied in the brown tones. Clay dinnerware with a custom floral print added an artisanal touch, grounding the table in soft elegance while celebrating form and pattern.

[/field]
[field title=”Favorite Design Element”]

The standout detail? The custom signage by Coull Concepts. From the three-paneled seating chart with integrated lighting to mocha-toned table numbers, welcome sign, and bar menus, each piece was designed to complement the overall palette without overpowering it. The result was an elevated and cohesive look that transformed each touchpoint into a design moment.

[/field]
[field title=”Tips To Pull Off The Look”]

If you love the idea of a richly colored summer wedding, don’t be afraid to lean into contrast. Layering different shades within your core palette, like deep burgundy, soft blush, warm mocha, and lighter neutral, will create flow and visual interest. Consider the logistics of your tablescapes; for fuller floral designs and candle clusters, opt for wider tables to avoid crowding. And finally, think about how to repurpose ceremony florals throughout your reception: entrances, sweetheart tables, dessert stations, and even around your DJ setup are all prime spots to extend the life of your blooms while still feeling intentional.

A Modern Palmetto Bluff Wedding Rooted in Meaning and Elevated by a Soft Neutral Palette

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The core palette for the wedding was a timeless combination of black and white, softened with subtle sand and tan undertones to add warmth and depth. For the ancillary events, we wove in thoughtful infusions of color that reflected the unique tone and setting of each gathering – fresh, elegant greens for the bridal luncheon, and soft, sophisticated blues for the rehearsal dinner.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Chandler and Grant envisioned a celebration rooted in personal meaning, choosing to marry in Palmetto Bluff – a place close to their hearts where her family owns a home and the couple has shared countless memories. They embraced a streamlined, neutral palette that allowed the natural beauty of the Lowcountry to take center stage, setting the tone for an atmosphere of refined, modern elegance.

The culinary team at Montage Palmetto Bluff crafted a thoughtful array of menus tailored to each celebration throughout the weekend. For the wedding reception, guests were treated to a beautifully plated three-course dinner featuring a fresh crab salad to start, followed by a duet entrée of beef ribeye and lobster tail served with sweet potato purée, citrus fennel insalata, and Béarnaise sauce. The wedding cake was served as the final course, and guests enjoyed fried mozzarella in mini jars of spicy tomato sauce as a late-night snack.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

For the welcome party and wedding day, we stuck strictly to the neutral palette and used only white flowers with fresh green foliage. Flowers included white stock, hydrangeas, peonies, garden roses, larkspur, lisianthus, ranunculus, and sweet peas.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The pastry team at Montage Palmetto Bluff crafted a showstopping cake that was as decadent as it was beautiful. Chandler and Grant chose two flavor profiles, layered in alternating tiers: a rich dark chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse, peanut butter cups, and milk chocolate ganache; and a bourbon-soaked vanilla sponge with bourbon milk jam crème, shortbread crumble, and caramel milk chocolate ganache. From a design perspective, we knew the cake needed to feel like a focal point. Positioned prominently at the edge of the dance floor, it featured delicate fondant details that echoed the lattice and palmetto leaf motifs used throughout the wedding. We then elevated the cake with a custom-made black platform, added a delicate black velvet bow to the bottom tier, and surrounded the cake base with fresh flowers and foliage.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

The ceremony featured meaningful biblical readings from Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 and Matthew 7:24-27. Chandler walked down the aisle to Andrea Bocelli’s Con Te Partirò, performed by a live string quartet. The wedding party and family processed to instrumental renditions of Lana Del Rey’s Young and Beautiful and Christina Perri’s A Thousand Years. For the joyful recessional, the quartet played Bruno Mars’ Marry You. Live music played a central role throughout the weekend, culminating in a high-energy, jam-packed dance floor on Saturday night, thanks to Washington, D.C.–based band, The District.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Chandler’s sweet grandmother served as the flower girl, and it was a surprise to nearly everyone!

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

Chandler and Grant originally envisioned exchanging vows at Montage Palmetto Bluff’s iconic May River Chapel, drawn to its charm and stunning waterfront setting. But with a guest list that exceeded the chapel’s capacity, it became clear the space couldn’t accommodate their ceremony, and we pivoted to use the larger Somerset Chapel on the property for the ceremony instead. Still, the May River Chapel held deep significance for the couple, so we found a meaningful way to incorporate it into the day. Instead of saying “I do” there, they shared their first look inside the chapel. It was an intimate, emotional moment captured so beautifully in photos and on video. It allowed them to experience one of the most important parts of the day in a space they truly loved.

Fitness is a way of life for Chandler and Grant, so it was fitting that it be a part of their destination wedding weekend as well! In addition to the rehearsal dinner, welcome party, and wedding celebration events, they also included a pickleball tournament and an early morning 5K race! To make the events even more personal, we designed custom pickleball paddles for the bride and groom, along with bespoke race bibs for each 5K participant – a fun little touch that reflected Chandler and Grant’s energy and enthusiasm!

An Enchanted Summer Garden Wedding Designed with Fruits, Florals and Culture

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Our vision was to create a wedding that felt like stepping into a vibrant, romantic summer garden: elegant, inviting, and full of life. Inspired by the warmth of June, we chose a design rooted in nature with rich textures, seasonal fruits, and florals that evoked both abundance and whimsy.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Our vision was to create a wedding that felt like stepping into a vibrant, romantic summer garden: elegant, inviting, and full of life. Inspired by the warmth of June, we chose a design rooted in nature with rich textures, seasonal fruits, and florals that evoked both abundance and whimsy. Set against a venue that radiated European charm and old-world romance, the atmosphere felt like an intimate escape, complete with courtyards, fountains, and timeless architectural details. The vibe was a seamless blend of refined and relaxed, where gold accents and crystal stemware met sun-kissed fruit garnishes and playful floral patterns. The Persian wedding table brought in cultural depth, symbolizing harmony and happiness, while scattered petals and an overflowing floral arch created a dreamy ceremony backdrop. Musically, classical harp melodies filled the ceremony, lending an elegant and serene ambiance, followed by lively Spanish guitar tunes during the cocktail reception that added a warm, festive energy to the celebration. From the welcome mojito to the lemon cake and Miami-inspired coffee bean favors, each detail was thoughtfully chosen to reflect our love for summer, celebration, and meaningful moments shared with the people we love.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

While visiting family in Berlin during the spring, Sirus and I decided to take a short trip to Munich to explore the city. One morning, he surprised me with a spontaneous day trip to Neuschwanstein Castle—something out of a fairytale. The Bavarian countryside was caught in a magical moment between winter and spring, with delicate snow still on the ground and blossoms just beginning to bloom. When we arrived at the castle, we met with someone I assumed was a local tour guide. But as she began snapping photos of us, I started to suspect that something more was unfolding. As I turned away for a quick photo, I was asked to face Sirus—and there he was, down on one knee. Amid gentle snow flurries and the grandeur of the castle, he asked me to marry him. It was a breathtaking and unforgettable moment.

Dinner featured an elegant selection of entrees, including filet mignon with rich port demi-glace, paired with chive whipped potatoes, sautéed asparagus, and seasonal vegetables. Guests could also enjoy seared airline chicken drizzled with a mango-citrus reduction, served alongside roasted fingerling potatoes and haricot verts. For a vegetarian option, a creamy three-mushroom risotto finished with Alba white truffle oil and shaved Parmesan was offered, rounding out a menu that was both refined and flavorful. Our signature welcome drink was a traditional mojito, refreshing and perfectly suited for the warm Miami weather. It was a vibrant way to kick off the celebration.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]For our June wedding, we embraced the vibrant spirit of summer with a soft, romantic palette of blush pinks, cream, and sage. To complement these tones, our floral arrangements introduced bursts of bright pink, orange, and burnished red, creating a fresh yet abundant garden atmosphere. Tablescapes were garnished with seasonal fruits—blood oranges, apricots, blackberries, green grapes, and pears—bringing an organic richness to the décor.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

We chose a lemon cake made with fragrant lemon oil, layered with tangy lemon curd buttercream and fresh strawberry buttercream. It was a bright, flavorful cake that perfectly captured the fresh and summery vibe of our wedding day.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

There were so many unforgettable moments throughout the day, but one that will stay with me forever was the transition in music during the ceremony—from the bridal party processional to my own entrance. That was my cue. My dad took my arm, and together we stepped through the doors and into view. As I rounded the corner and saw everyone—our closest friends and family—all smiling with such genuine joy, I was completely overwhelmed with love and support. Everyone was beaming with happiness for us. Then, I saw Sirius waiting at the end of the aisle. In that surreal moment, it truly hit me that I was walking toward my future husband. The joy and love I felt in that instant were unlike anything I’ve ever known. The Persian wedding table brought in cultural depth, symbolizing harmony and happiness, while scattered petals and an overflowing floral arch created a dreamy ceremony backdrop. Musically, classical harp melodies filled the ceremony, lending an elegant and serene ambiance

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

My wedding gown was an ivory silk creation with soft draping along the shoulders and a romantic sweetheart neckline that tapered into a graceful A-line silhouette. The dress perfectly balanced vintage Old Hollywood glamour with effortless ease. To complement the gown, I chose a handmade, cathedral-length Chantilly lace veil with a delicate blusher, inspired by Grace Kelly’s iconic wedding day. I adored how the intricate lace added a timeless, romantic touch that beautifully framed the overall look.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

Miami has been a favorite vacation spot for years, so choosing Villa Woodbine felt like a perfect fit. We were drawn to its intimate setting and undeniable European charm. The outdoor reception area was a dream come true, with tea tree lights and chandeliers hanging beneath a lush forest canopy. The venue’s enchanting architecture with creeping vines, fuchsia blooms, and a serene inner courtyard fountain created a nostalgic and romantic atmosphere that perfectly complemented our vision.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

The table décor was the one detail I couldn’t live without. While florals played a central role, it was the combination of dinner plates, glassware, cutlery, and napkins that truly brought the reception vision to life. Each piece, from the floral designs on the plates to the gold flatware and deep green goblets, was thoughtfully chosen to create a cohesive, romantic setting. It was in these layered details that the entire atmosphere came together, turning the tables into a curated extension of our overall design.

A Palm Springs Inspired Wedding on Amelia Island with Tropical Texture and Family Heart

A variety of tropical colors and bamboo. Bamboo details were woven throughout the wedding design, with reception chargers, candles, larger-than-life lanterns, and baskets galore – all made from bamboo.

From the planner: “When your vibe is Palm Springs but your heart is in Amelia Island: Torn between two coasts, we brought the desert to the dunes with sculptural greens, tropical touches, and all the texture. Bamboo lanterns, breezy linens, and blooms for days. If summer had a personality, it would definitely be this setup.” From the bride: “Amelia Island has always felt like home for my family, so there was a sense of peace that day, being surrounded by family history. My dad grew up vacationing in Amelia and passed that tradition down to our family. My sister also recently got married on the island and relocated there. We can’t wait to continue passing down memories of the island to future generations.”

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Molly wanted to bring her and Drew’s love for the Southwest (note the groom’s cacti tattoo on his hand!) to the East Coast, so the wedding design was all about bringing the desert to Amelia Island beach. From the bride: “We worked to incorporate Drew’s parents, who had passed into the style as well. Drew wore a turquoise bolo tie as an ode to his father and the desert. We had yellow roses as a part of the florals for Drew’s mom, as it was her favorite flower (yellow roses also on their chairs).”

A Grand Cape Cod Celebration Inspired by Italian Style and Maximalist Details

Both entering their second marriage, Nicole and Tucker wanted to celebrate in a grand, unforgettable fashion! Bringing Italy to Cape Cod, the couple opted for a maximalist design style with neutral tones of white, olive green, and dusty blue decorating Tucker’s seaside family home.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]From a dating app to a proposal in the City of Love — Nicole and Tucker’s story truly showcases the transformative power of finding the right person! After connecting online, the pair went on their first date at a local steakhouse in Boston. The connection was instant, and they made things official right away! Following a Christmas trip to Germany with Nicole’s family, Tucker whisked her away for a few days alone in Paris to ring in the new year. He popped the question while walking along the Pont Alexandre III bridge overlooking the Eiffel Tower. Unbeknownst to Nicole, a local photographer was waiting in the wings to capture the moment she said yes![/field]

A Classic Italian Villa Wedding at La Foce with Modern Elegance and Gentle Movement

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]blush, cream, baby blue[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Sara and Lucas envisioned their wedding as a blend of timeless elegance and relaxed romance, thoughtfully designed to create a warm, inviting experience for their guests. Set against the backdrop of La Foce’s classic Italian charm, the celebration featured a soft, neutral palette with lush florals and flowing fabrics that added texture and movement. Their goal was to strike a balance between Italian tradition and modern style to honor their heritage and the historic beauty of the villa while incorporating contemporary touches for a fresh, elevated feel. Every detail, from custom monogrammed fans to the subtle Roman plaster textures in the stationery, was chosen with care to create a day that felt effortless, intimate, and beautifully cohesive both for the couple and for their guests.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]What started as a casual dinner plan with Lucas’ cousin, the same cousin who had introduced them eight years earlier, quickly became a night Sara and Lucas would never forget. Sara arrived at Lucas’ house expecting to have a quick drink before heading out, but as she walked into the backyard, she was surprised by a beautiful path of candles and flowers leading to an arch that read “It was always you.”

Lucas was waiting at the end of the path and got down on one knee. After the proposal, they shared an intimate dinner in the backyard with both of their parents and Sara’s dog, Bella, by their side. Though Bella passed just two weeks later, Sara feels grateful that she was there to be part of such a special moment—one that marked the start of a new chapter with Lucas.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]

For their August wedding in the heart of Tuscany, comfort was important, especially with the Italian summer heat in full force. Sara chose a gown by Ines Di Santo that struck the perfect balance between timeless sophistication and effortless wearability. Crafted from intricate lace, the gown embodied classic Italian romance, with a scalloped hem and dramatic low back adding just the right amount of impact. The silhouette was not only flattering but also allowed her to move with ease throughout the day’s celebrations. To complete the look, Ines designed a custom, nearly 20-foot veil edged in delicate lace to mirror the gown’s detailing, paired with a slimmer blusher that framed Sara’s face in soft, romantic layers. After dinner, as the sun set and the dancing began, Sara changed into a second look that reflected her love of both modern lines and romantic textures. Wanting to feel free and comfortable on the dance floor, she opted for a sleek silk gown by Jenny Yoo, customized with an asymmetrical draped sleeve and a high slit. The structured corset bodice offered a flattering fit, while a row of delicate buttons down the back added a subtle, charming detail. Light, elegant, and movement-friendly, the second gown was made for celebration, carrying her through the night with ease and style.

Sara and Lucas curated a wedding menu that delivered “wow!” with every bite, offering guests a memorable culinary experience that reflected the richness of the Tuscan setting. The meal began with a refreshing grilled peach and burrata salad, followed by a duo of pasta courses that set the tone for indulgence: handmade ricotta and lemon ravioli served in a delicate asparagus cream, and a vibrant red pepper risotto finished with burrata foam and a touch of pistachio. For the main course, guests selected between two options: a sea bass finished with a champagne and lemon sauce, or a tender beef fillet accompanied by a robust Chianti Classico reduction. As a thoughtful nod to the region, the couple served Tignanello, a celebrated Tuscan red wine, adding a luxurious complement to the meal’s flavours. The beverage experience was equally intentional, with signature cocktails crafted to reflect the couple’s personal tastes. Lucas’s signature old-fashioned and Sara’s gin and elderflower cocktail anchored the menu, which was divided between cocktail hour and post-dinner service. Guests enjoyed an array of spritzes, from timeless Aperol and limoncello variations to a refreshing Hugo and a regional peach-infused Tuscan spritz, each drink capturing the celebratory spirit and sun-soaked charm of the day.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The florals and décor thoughtfully echoed the natural beauty and charm of the Italian setting. A palette of neutral blooms, accented with subtle touches of powder blue, set a serene yet sophisticated tone for the day. Antique-inspired Italian cutlery, delicate glassware, and softly flickering candles introduced a sense of vintage elegance, while fairy lights hidden among the trees cast a gentle glow over the dinner area, adding warmth without overpowering the scene. Wooden chairs lent a rustic, Tuscan feel that harmonized effortlessly with the historic villa. The stationery design featured a Roman clay texture, with custom pocket menus personalized for each guest. Inside, softly shaped menus highlighted blue floral illustrations and a light steel blue clay backdrop that mirrored the floral arrangements. Each menu was finished with a French blue silk ribbon and a gold floral grommet, while powder blue napkins printed with a charming floral toile pattern tied the entire tablescape together, creating an atmosphere that felt both elevated and inviting.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The evening concluded with a memorable and interactive cake show, as Galateo’s pastry chefs crafted a stunning millefoglie layered with Chantilly cream, chocolate drops, and fresh berries. As the chefs expertly assembled the dessert in front of all the guests, Sara and Lucas joined in to add the final touches. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and cheers as friends and family gathered to watch the creation come to life, turning a classic Italian tradition into a shared experience. The moment highlighted the craftsmanship of the pastry team and transformed the wedding cake into a true centerpiece of the celebration.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

As guests arrived at the villa, a live string quartet set the tone with classical music that beautifully complemented the elegance of the ceremony. Later, their spirited renditions of modern favorites during the cocktail hour added a playful, Bridgerton-inspired twist that delighted guests of all ages. Sara and Lucas had one clear priority for their reception: that it be fun for everyone. The music was thoughtfully curated to span generations and tastes, from lively Italian dance hits like “Sara Perche Ti Amo” to nostalgic ’90s and early 2000s favorites such as “Gasolina” and “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!” This dynamic blend kept energy high and the dance floor full, creating an atmosphere of pure celebration that carried through the entire day.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

To welcome guests and offer relief from the Tuscan heat, Sara and Lucas thoughtfully provided chilled Prosecco and custom monogrammed fans upon arrival at the ceremony. This small yet meaningful gesture added a personal touch while ensuring guests felt comfortable and cared for. It set the tone for a celebration defined by hospitality and attention to detail to create a memorable first impression that carried throughout the day.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]One of the most unforgettable moments of the evening came during dinner, when a surprise saxophonist burst onto the scene, playing none other than Careless Whisper. As the smooth, iconic notes filled the air, guests erupted with excitement—clapping, cheering, and dancing. The unexpected performance brought an electric energy to the group and added a playful, unforgettable twist to the evening before they moved to the dancing area later on.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

One of the most memorable moments of the after-party came when Lucas and Sara jumped into the pool, soon joined by a group of their closest friends. What began with Lucas’ friends making a splash quickly turned into an all-out celebration once Sara took the plunge… sparking a wave of excitement that had guests eagerly following suit in their gowns. The spontaneous dip added a carefree, joyful energy to the evening, with laughter and cheers echoing well into the night. It was a highlight that perfectly captured the fun-loving spirit of the celebration, and one that guests are still talking about long after the wedding day.

An Italian-Style Wedding with Poolside Lounging and a Dreamy Tennis Court Reception

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Their wedding colors were a timeless palette of crisp white and soft blush pinks, mainly shown through the florals, accented with pops of blue in the linens. Subtle silver and wood details were woven throughout the design to add elegance and warmth.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Carly & Greg’s wedding embraced a vintage Italian-inspired design that feels both timeless and inviting. The ceremony took place on the front lawn beneath a beautiful tree, creating an organic, lush backdrop. Guests relaxed by the pool for cocktail hour, lounging on ottomans and sipping custom cocktails. For the reception, the tennis court was transformed into a romantic, open-air haven. Soft white carpeting and twinkling café lights created a welcoming atmosphere. The color palette, combined with the vintage details, allowed the natural beauty of the setting to shine through.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

On their first anniversary, Greg planned a heartfelt day that beautifully echoed their first date. They retraced their steps through the Arroyo, just as they had when it all began, followed by a delicious steak dinner. Once home, they shared a slice of the cake that Carly had baked in celebration of their anniversary. As a romantic playlist filled the room, they slow danced to ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You’ by Frankie Valli before Greg got down on one knee. She said yes! It was intimate, meaningful, and perfectly them.

Every detail of the gown echoed the bride’s romantic spirit and timeless style. [/field]

The bridesmaid brought a beautifully effortless charm to the day in a curated mix of soft pink dresses. Each chose a gown that suited her unique personality while reflecting the bride’s vision. Some featured delicate floral patterns and others solid hues, ranging from chiffon to satin. The playful blend of textures and tones felt cohesive yet personal.

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]Rooted in the flavors of Italy, the menu blended nostalgic flavors with fresh, local ingredients. The chef drew inspiration from her childhood and nearby farmers’ markets to elevate traditional Italian dishes. Each dish honored the simplicity and soul of Italian cuisine, from the saffron arancini to grilled market fresh bass to the burrata with confit tomatoes. Ending the night on a sweet note, dessert featured classic tiramisu and crispy, creamy cannolis.

Guests enjoyed an open bar featuring two signature cocktails that captured the couple’s personality: a classic Moscow Mule and a margarita for a fun and celebratory night![/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

As a nod to Carly’s middle name, the flower arrangements featured mainly roses, the design embracing a romantic garden vibe. The blooms were soft shades of pink layered with blush and crisp white. These colors against the lush greenery of the venue popped, complementing the vintage-inspired details of the day. A play on textures throughout the décor brought depth and character to every detail, from the natural wood tables paired with classic hemstitch runners to the delicate floral-patterned china. Hand-drawn elements in the stationery added a playful, personal touch. At each guest’s seat were 5 sugar almonds, an Italian tradition that symbolizes the five wishes for the couple’s marriage- health, wealth, happiness, fertility, and long life.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]This sweet three-tiered wedding cake brought a touch of vintage romance to the celebration. Adorned with delicate piped details of old-world confections and topped with glossy cherries, the design felt both playful and timeless. Atop stood an adorable figurine of the bride and groom, adding a personal finishing touch. [/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

With the groom being a musician himself, music played a central role in the day’s celebration. The couple prioritized live performances throughout, beginning with an intimate keyboard and guitar duo during the ceremony that set a romantic tone. Their first dance was to ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You’ by Frankie Valli, the same song he proposed to her. A seven-piece band carried the energy throughout the reception, keeping guests on their feet well into the night. The dance floor was never empty, so much so that the bride even crowd surfed, making for an unforgettable moment of pure joy.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Carly & Greg chose to celebrate their wedding at the groom’s family home, a beloved estate that has hosted many gatherings and family weddings. It was fitting that their story adds another page to its history. From the ceremony under a tree to a tennis court transformed into an elegant reception space, each corner of the property holds deep meaning. It isn’t just a venue; it is a home, a symbol of enduring love, and the beginning of their chapter in a long line of beautiful beginnings. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

After their first dance, the groom, Gregory Ackerman, who is an incredibly talented musician, took everyone by surprise when he stepped on stage with the band. He debuted a song he began writing just days after their very first date, titled ‘Brand New Life’. The lyrics told the story of their instant connection and the moment he knew she was the one. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room as he created an unforgettable moment that captured the essence of their love story. It was a reminder to everyone- when you know, you know.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]In a beautiful twist of tradition, Carly & Greg chose to have their wedding party seated in a semicircle around them during the ceremony. This thoughtful arrangement created an intimate, almost sacred space, one that physically reflected the emotional support and closeness they share with their loved ones. Rather than standing off to the side, their closest friends and family were right there, encircling them in love as they exchanged their vows. It was a subtle but powerful detail that made the ceremony feel personal, grounded, and deeply connected. [/field]

Their ceremony took place on the sand at Chileno Bay. A small, intimate guest count made for an emotion-filled ceremony. Kyle and his immediate family walked down the aisle to a live Violin, followed by Summer and her father. Summer and Kyle exchanged their vows, and there was not a dry eye in sight. It was truly the most beautiful ceremony. The bride and groom shared their first kiss as husband and wife to “Be My Baby” by The Ronettes and celebrated as they left the altar.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

The weekend started with a boat welcome party. Everyone landed a few hours prior, vacation mode was on, and the excitement was real. Custom coconuts were passed out as their guests boarded the boat. Summer and Kyle knew they had to start the weekend off right, so they opted out of a rehearsal dinner and included everyone for a 3-hour sunset cruise. Their guests mingled, enjoyed the views, and spent time together. A few of their closest friends gave speeches. There were tears, laughter, and so much love. They spent the rest of the night dancing away to music and the most gorgeous sunset that truly looked like someone had painted the sky.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

Cocktail hour took place on the lawn as the sun was setting and the moon was shining. A live saxophonist played as appetizers were passed. Guests got to enjoy the gorgeous views of the venue. Summer and Kyle snuck away to take a few sunset photos before making their grand entrance to “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” by Frankie Valli.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

Once the party began, the bride and groom reentered the reception space, pushing a tequila cart with sparklers that had espresso martini shots for their guests. The energy instantly turned on all of a sudden, and the saxophone was on someone’s shoulders. They didn’t stop dancing the rest of the night; they made their way to their speakeasy after-party. They carried on for another two hours, late-night snacks were served, a few shirts came off, and the dancing didn’t stop. People basically had to drag them out of the afterparty. Their guests were ready for the night to be over. The night ended with everyone jumping in the pool in their dresses and suits. It was intimate, filled with an abundance of love, insanely fun, and the wildest party.

A Midsummer Garden Party Wedding at Son Marroig in Palma

Our menu was crafted by Vicky Pulgarin, a MasterChef winner, and celebrated local flavours with a Mediterranean twist. We also enjoyed our favourite champagne, Dom Pérignon, in a champagne tower that was so much fun and became one of the highlights of the evening. For a late-night snack, we treated guests to delicious stone-baked pizzas, perfect for refuelling during the party.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The ceremony featured an abundance of white florals surrounding the iconic Son Marroig gazebo. Soft drapery framed the Mediterranean sea views, while the reception tablescape was lit with hundreds of candles for a romantic al fresco dinner under the stars.[/field]

My cousin read Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 during the ceremony. A string quartet performed our favourite classical and modern love songs, including Canon in D, Video Games, and If I Ain’t Got You. Later, our DJ, DJ Baj, and saxophonist took over for a lively evening of dancing and celebration.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

We wanted our wedding to feel personal and thoughtful for our guests. A live sketch artist created portraits as wedding favours, and a saxophonist entertained everyone during cocktail hour. Our speeches were also a highlight. We kept it intimate, with only four speeches, and I gave an unconventional speech dedicated to my mum, thanking her for her unwavering love and sacrifices. Instead of tossing my bouquet, I gave it to her as a symbol of my gratitude and love, which was an emotional and unforgettable moment.

A Grounded Charleston Wedding in Deep Green, Dreamy Color, and Southern Warmth at Gibbes Museum Of Art

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

(From the Bride, Alexandria) I’m very drawn to deep green. It evokes such a sense of calm and ease and acts as a beautiful anchor to any color palette, not too masculine or too feminine. It felt like a natural place to start, given the vibe we were going for: whimsical, but grounded. I originally thought we’d do a classic green and white for the more traditional feeling I wanted, but my husband and I both love bold color, so we brought in our favorites – deep pink for me and sunshine yellow for him – for accents throughout our design elements.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Our color palette reflected the overall vision for the day, blending timeless romance with modern vibrancy – and a dash of warm southern charm! This vision helped us select vendors – like our photographer Samantha Jean Becker, who blends film and digital and infuses such a dreamy, romantic quality into her work – and our venues. We got married in a church, Second Presbyterian, to ground the day in tradition and ceremony, and celebrated with a reception at the Gibbes Museum of Art, where we focused on creating warmth and fun through bright colors and contrasting textures and patterns. While my family is from the south, Charleston was a destination for all of our wedding guests, so it was important to us that everyone felt appreciated and enjoyed themselves. We sought to infuse the weekend with southern hospitality for our guests, from little touches like danceflooflip-flops and mini fans in their welcome bags, to focusing on delicious food and drink. Our planner, Chauncey, and her team at Bouquets and Bowties helped us connect the dots for a cohesive, seamless celebration.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

We met almost 10 years ago through a mutual friend when we were both living in the DC area. I still remember his first text to me, “Hi Alex, this is Alex.” After being in each other’s orbits for about a year or two, one day, when we were both at the same backyard party, we just hit it off. We hung out all day and ended up exploring the Capitol, darting around the campus in the quiet nighttime, like it was our own playground. We went on our first date shortly after to an outdoor movie at the Georgetown Waterfront, where he packed us a little picnic, and we’ve been together ever since. Five years later, we got engaged on the beach in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. We had just moved to New York City, and I had landed a new job after graduate school. I was anxious to get to work, but Alex really pushed for me to delay my start date so we could take one last trip before things got too busy. He was really insistent, which I thought was a bit weird, but now I understand why! I picked the destination and he handled the rest. Toward the end of our trip, we were heading to dinner when he claimed he had found a small, secluded beach he wanted to show me. He had me close my eyes as he guided me there, and when we arrived, he had prepared a beautiful setting with a bouquet and rose petals, where he got down on one knee. Neither of us remembers exactly what he said, but I remember the happiness and excitement, and the random audience we had attracted that cheered us on.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]I wore two dresses on our wedding day – my ceremony dress by Reem Accra and my reception dress from Prea James. I wanted a dress that felt unique but also clean and traditional. The high neck and long sleeves countered by the airy lace drew me to my ceremony gown. With my reception look, the sleek silhouette and fabric perfectly highlighted the statement bow on my back. Both dresses struck that perfect balance for me – modern and fun, yet timeless and romantic.
[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

I knew I wanted lots of dimension and complexity for my bridal party look; my group of girls is all so unique, and I wanted to reflect that in their dresses. I also couldn’t choose just one color, so I decided not to! In addition to our favorite colors of pink and yellow, we introduced a pale blush as a classic touch to bring some cohesion. I gifted the ladies with coordinating earrings and handkerchiefs to provide something that brought their looks together.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

Food was so important to us – 1. We love a good meal, and 2 we wanted our guests to enjoy their meal and experience the flavors of the South. We worked with our caterer, Rosemary and Rye, to craft a menu that fit this bill and had plenty of our southern favorites – collard greens, shrimp and grits, and crab cakes for a shout out to my husband’s Maryland roots! For our signature cocktail, we did a Hugo Spritz, a refreshing blend of elderflower and lime. We named it the Simba Spritz, a nod to our favorite little guy, our golden doodle Simba.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

When it came to florals, we took inspiration from our venues and again that balance of simplicity and vibrancy, working with Angela at Charleston Flower Girl to bring the vision to life. For our church ceremony, we kept the florals neutral and understated. I am still completely obsessed with my bouque, which felt so elegant and classic. For cocktails, dinner, and dancing at the Gibbes, we took inspiration from the garden, with its lush greenery and romantic sense of seclusion, bringing in vibrant florals, lots of candlelight light and greenery-twined chandeliers overhead to evoke that secret garden feel. Our textured and patterned tablecloths from Stradley Davidson added a contrasting sophistication to the rustic farm tables from Snyder’s Rentals to round out the garden party vibes. My favorite detail was our joint monogram. It was an extremely effective way of personalizing multiple design aspects, like our programs and place settings from Dodeline Design, and our matchbook guest favors.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

When our wedding planner took us for a tasting with Wedding Cakes by Jim Smeal, we immediately fell in love. The texture and flavor of their cakes were absolutely amazing; they had a stunning collection of unique cake stands and a portfolio of absolutely gorgeous cake designs. We chose two flavors, Almond Amaretto paired with an Apricot jam and Fresh Coconut, brought together by a classic design in pale pink frosting to continue the romantic vibe of the day. I was feeling very drawn to vintage cake design, and Jim was able to channel that vision beautifully. The only regret I have from our wedding was not saving the top cake layer for our anniversary – I still dream about it!

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

To mark the end of our ceremony and first moments as husband and wife, we jumped the broom, a Black American wedding tradition. We’ll keep our broom as a family heirloom, and hopefully our children will use it one day. A couple of months before our wedding in Charleston, we celebrated our marriage with my husband’s extended family in Mumbai, India, where friends and family performed choreographed dances for our Sangeet. We had the DJ play some of the songs from the performances so we could relive our time in India, which was a fun callback for us and our guests. Together, these moments made our wedding feel like an homage to both our heritages and the blended culture of our family.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

My husband’s aunt, who designs and produces clothing in Mumbai, crafted my mother’s turquoise gown. She lovingly made my lehenga for our Sangeet earlier in the year, so it was a sweet touch to have her design something so beautiful for our Charleston celebration. My mom and her beautiful dress were my ‘Something Blue’.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

My grandfather is a minister, and he officiated our wedding. This was a moment I’ve looked forward to sharing with him all my life. We met many times to hone the details of the ceremony and discuss with him the beauty and power of marriage. His presence brought a real sense of love, devotion, and gravity to our ceremony. It was such a sweet moment to walk down the aisle with my dad and see my grandfather and husband-to-be standing side-by-side at the altar.

A Whimsical Waterfront Wedding Awash in Bright Color, Rattan Accents and Sunny Style

[section title=”The Planning”]

The wedding was a chic, colorful affair, with a palette that encompassed pink, yellow, orange, blue, purple, and green. Sunshine yellow was also prominent, not only from the sunny Florida weather, but all of the beautiful bridesmaid gowns.

The vibe for the wedding day was a whimsical yet sophisticated black-tie fete. A nod to the coastal waterfront was also present, with subtle touches of rattan from entrance lanterns and rattan chargers with sea blue napkins. An assortment of colors from the invitation suite, to the crest, the florals, and the table cape design lent itself well to capturing this beautiful aesthetic. Dogs, 90s Nostalgia, and Napa Romance: A Wedding Weekend Made Just for Them

Inspired by their first visit to The French Laundry, Greta and Ben chose Napa Valley for a weekend celebration full of personal touches and romantic nods to their journey. From their dogs walking the aisle to a 90s-infused afterparty, every moment was thoughtful, joyful, and undeniably them.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Greta and Ben’s love story began with a bold (and brilliant) move. After spotting Greta on Hinge, Ben placed an oversized flower order from her business, Glasswing Floral, just to meet her. The ruse led to flirty messages, an in-person flower handoff, and a proper first date, where Greta immediately called him out. Ben confessed, Greta laughed, and the rest unfolded naturally. They quickly discovered a rare and shared magic, falling in love over music and meaningful conversations. Two years later, Ben proposed to Greta on Nantucket, on the anniversary of their first official date. She said yes (after teasing that the ring box was upside down) and “Dependence Day” was born.

Where Refined Neutrals and Western Flair Collide in a Fresh Austin Garden Wedding

Airy neutrals and pops of fresh green

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Neka and Zach’s wedding day was an elevated, chic garden party at The Grand Lady in Austin, TX. The day blended Neka’s refined, neutral-forward style with Zach’s cool, Western flair. With a spring-inspired palette of airy neutrals and pops of fresh green, the celebration leaned into a texture-forward design, whimsical details, and interactive guest moments.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Sentimental, intimate, and emotional are three words that come to mind when I think about the night of our proposal. The sentiment tracks back to Zach and I’s very first date. We had been getting to know each other for a few months while I was still living in Dallas and Zach was in Austin. We would finally get to meet in person when I came home to New Braunfels around Christmas time. Zach drove an hour to pick me up (with flowers in hand like the true gentleman he is), and we spent the day in my hometown. Before heading home, I told him about one of my favorite places in New Braunfels called RiveRoadad. I thought it would be a great opportunity to show off my town, but in reality, the beautiful scenic drive was gloomy and bare due to it being the dead of winter. Oopsie. We made the most of it and promised we would see it another time when everything was in full bloom. Fast forward to the evening of the proposal. We were in town for the 4th of July and had plans to eat dinner with his mom downtown. Looking back at it now, I should have put two and two together when we received a text saying his mom was running late, and ZZach suggested we kill time by driving down River Road. As we drove down the windy, scenic road, this time in full bloom, I realized Zach seemed to be on a mission. We pulled up to a spot I had never seen before, where Zach suggested we get out and go look at the water. To which I reply, “This is private property! We can’t be here!” He persisted and eventually got me out of the car, thank goodness. He led me downhill, where I saw something scattered by the water. Funny enough, at the distance we were at, I squinted and thought it was the underbelly of a bunch of fish someone had caught. As we got close, it was clear that it was not in fact fish, but dozens and dozens of beautiful white roses individually placed in the ground, candles, and twinkling lights dangling from a large oak tree. Just us two (plus Kelsey and Talon hiding behind the tree, of course), it was the perfect intimate proposal. He got down on one knee and expressed his love and desire to spend the rest of his life together. At this point in our relationship, we had already experienced more hardship than most people have to endure in their whole lives. I had spent the year battling my cancer diagnosis with Zach by my side. So in that moment when we were wrapped in each other’s arms, celebrating, I was picturing all the hardships we had faced, making that moment so much more meaningful! I knew I was getting a life partner who proved we could make it through “in sickness and in health”. As if the tears weren’t flowing enough already, we then drove to a special spot from my childhood to be surprised by our loved ones! The rest of the evening consisted of showing off the ring, retelling the proposal story over and over again, embracing close friends and family, and smiling from ear to ear until our cheeks hurt. It was everything we could have hoped for and more, and I am forever grateful for the memories we have from July 2nd, 2024

For dessert, a roaming cannoli service was a nod to the bride’s Italian roots.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Florals were the star of the show, textural and designed to feel as if they were growing from the landscape. Oversized arrangements added volume and drama to the ceremony and reception spaces, while delicate touches and soft green tones added romance to every table. From whimsical installations to thoughtful lounge areas, every detail was curated to create a luxurious and welcoming guest experience.

During Neka’s first fight with cancer, their anthem for hope was a song called “Good Plans.” During their ceremony, they had a string trio learn the song and play it as Neka’s processional as a surprise for Zach.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

[field title=”Proposal Story”]While attending college, Sheridan’s parents were searching for a property where she could live during her senior year. When they found the perfect spot, they scheduled a tour with one of the current tenants, who just happened to be a handsome student named Ryan. Though the connection was instant, Sheridan and Ryan were both in relationships, but that didn’t stop a friendship from blossoming. Eventually, they both found themselves single, and their friendship naturally evolved into a romance for the ages! Three years into their relationship, Ryan — who works in aviation — popped the question with a surprise proposal inside a hangar filled with private aircraft, which alluded to a dream Sheridan had about a proposal years earlier.[/field]

Sheridan wore an intricately designed Nardos gown customized for versatility — it offered three looks in one. For the ceremony, she dazzled in a lace long-sleeve, high-neck top with a cathedral-length veil. Sheridan switched to a strapless look for cocktail hour and first dances before later draping a dramatic shawl with an extended train for dinner. The bride’s second look was a playful hand-beaded halter gown with a thigh-high slit, which she paired with gold Louboutin heels before swapping them for Lucchese cowboy boots.

After sharing private vows, Sheridan and Ryan tied the knot in a romantic garden ceremony where lush white florals filled the space with hints of blush pink, adding a soft, feminine touch. Opulent draping, glass candelabras, and chic white-and-pink floral centerpieces brought old-world refinement to the reception space, transporting guests to 19th-century Paris.

When it came time to party, Sheridan and Ryan wanted to bring a taste of Texas to Paris! In true Texas fashion, guests were surprised with custom rally towels featuring a crest of the couple’s dog, Remi, whose likeness appeared throughout the day (including wearing a beret in the photo booth!). They also gifted light-up cowboy hats, personalized glow sticks, and oversized cutouts of Remi.

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]True to their reputations, Sheridan and Ryan delivered the party of a lifetime with a live saxophonist, keeping the energy high and the dance floor full![/field]
