Organic, Locally Sourced Florals for a Rustic Chic Wedding

An ultra elegant affair graced with organic blooms (that were locally sourced!) and off-the-rack outfits, Annika and Brandan’s wedding is what we like to call a personalized affair with some flair. From the heirloom floral tucked into the bride’s bouquet, to the outdoor ceremony, we’ve got every bit of beauty from this day captured by Anna Peters waiting for you to favorite via The Vault!

From Anna PetersAnnika and Brandan wanted their wedding day to be stylish, laid back, and fun! They balanced classic touches like these ultra elegant invitations from Kayd Creatives with fresh, organic blooms sourced locally from Beehaven Flower farm. J. Crew was the brand of choice for both the bride and groom! They were able to incorporate so many thoughtful personal elements into the day, including tucking a piece of her great grandmother’s wedding day flower crown into her bouquet and wearing a custom bracelet with a blue stone given to her mother. Guests sipped wine and danced into the sunset, sending the couple off with deluge of biodegradable confetti (a great way to create a spectacular grand exit while being environmentally conscious)!

Spring Inspired Bridal Inspiration

This wedding inspiration just so happens to combine two of my favorite things: spring blooms and the Pacific Northwest. Add in the totally talented Kylie Martin behind the lens, and you’ve got yourself a tasteful gallery worth gawking over. See every elegant detail in The Vault!

From Kylie MartinThis session was inspired by all the blooming changes taking place in the Pacific Northwest. Our bride is modern and elegant but minimal in her styling. We hope to inspire brides to consider the “less is more” approach with styling and really pour their vision into the experience and feel of the day. By selecting important pieces that are a genuine reflection of the couple’s taste and aesthetic you are able to take a more minimal approach while still guaranteeing authentic imagery. This spring inspired session was tastefully simple in design but still elegant.

Black and White Spokane Wedding Inspiration With Pops of Color

What do you get when you combine the classic elegance of a black-and-white color scheme with bright spring florals and gold and geometric accents? Wedding magic. And with her magic wand (a.k.a. camera),  Park Road Photography captured every last bit of pretty from the graphic tablescapes and the lush peony, ranunculus and anemone bouquets to the bold menus and soft lace dress. More magic here.

From Park Road PhotographyThe special moment between spring and summer, when the barrenness of winter suddenly disappears and nature explodes into color. It’s my favorite time of year, bursting with light and promise, delicacy and strength.

“Soft yet strong” was the inspiration behind this wedding editorial at Riverside Event Center in Spokane, Washington. We loved combining the delicacy of hand-lettered invitations and menus (not to mention a gorgeous lace gown by Claire La Faye) with the strength and sophistication of black and white—the softness of pastel florals with the boldness of bright peonies and lilacs. Gold and geometric accents enhanced the overall feel of the session and paired perfectly with the soft yet strong beauty of the historic venue. Shot in both digital and film, I wanted to capture the essence of nature’s finest hues.

From The Bride… My wedding was even more than we had hoped it could be. You always imagine it perfect, but you know despite all the planning, something can always go wrong. Our day was perfect. We were blessed beyond measure. The day of the wedding was perfect. David and Holly were very professional and worked with our photographer as a team. Our family and friends still comment about how contagious their smiles are and how much of a joy they were to be around. We were able to show our video at our Nebraska reception two weeks later and there were very few dry eyes in the crowd. It is perfect. They captured our special day so completely. We love our video and we love them!

From Your Day FilmsWhen cowboy meets cowgirl, it’s a match made in heaven. Tiffany and Devyn are so cute together we can hardly stand it. After meeting each other online via the site WesternMatch.com, their relationship began first by email, then over the phone, and finally in person, when Devyn flew to Spokane to meet Tiffany face-to-face for the first time.

Their wedding day was filled with personalized touches, DIY centerpieces (and so much more!), and most importantly, two families coming together to celebrate the beginning of the next great chapter in the lives of their children. In addition to their big day, we also had the amazing opportunity to meet with Tiffany and Devyn during the week ahead, and sat down with them on the tailgate of Tiffany’s uncle’s classic Chevy pickup so that they could share their adorable love story.

Winter Glam Black + White Wedding

When I declare a wedding to be my favorite wedding, it’s kind a big deal, considering I fall in love with roughly 30 weddings a week. But there you have it, this wedding is my favorite. No surprises there with Alisa Lewis Event Design and Park-City based Megan Robinson Photography behind it.

From the stylist… A full year of planning & design went into this fabulous winter wedding in Spokane, Washington. It took place at a cozy and intimate winery in the heart of downtown. Each step of the big day incorporated intentional and meaningful design elements. The bride and her family created many of the details seen in these gorgeous photos by Megan Robinson. From the gold dusted ferns, to the exquisite hairpieces, to the handmade black & ivory runners, Lindsey and her family put copious amounts of love and time into these special details.

Lindsey & Ryne brought our team on board to bring all of their design elements to fruition and style the big day. We worked closely with the couple planning each area of the entrance, ceremony, tables, reception, drinks, desserts, and food. We also worked with this talented group of local wedding professionals to make this day come to life.

We took Lindsey’s vision of warm gold and glitter and paired it with bold black & ivory stripes wherever we could. We worked with Lindsey and her best friend, Erica of Erica’s Expressions, to add rich pops of crimson, blush, and emerald in the florals and table décor. We also handcrafted the gilded ladder chandelier to embellish the long head table. We used gold mercury candles and vintage brass candlesticks as heavily as possible in the reception design to light up the winery with a warm and inviting glow.

Guests gathered for the ceremony in the open air courtyard lit only by the overhead bistro lights and candles at sunset. Afterwards, the party moved inside the 100 year old winery where everyone warmed up with locally crafted wine, seasonal hors d’oeuvres, and luscious wintery desserts. After the meal, guests enjoyed hours of dancing and merriment into the late hours.

Lindsey & Ryne’s wedding will always be remembered as an intimate, meaningful, and glistening event that was thoroughly enjoyed and remembered by all.

From the beautiful bride… Ryne proposed in the midst of a snowstorm on a December day at his family’s cabin in Priest Lake, Idaho. With the power out, the candle filled cabin helped to set the tone for our romantic candle lit wedding.

Ryne and I love our date nights. There is something so magical about a candle lit dinner table and sharing it with someone you love. We wanted our wedding to be filled with warmth and for our love to be felt by our closest family and friends.

When the planning began, Ryne and I were in search of a venue that was filled with ambiance and charm. The winery we chose, features a beautiful brick courtyard, historic plank floors, and a romantic candle lit barrel room. Needless to say it was love at first sight. The winery exudes charm and warmth. It’s a hidden gem in the downtown Spokane area.

Our wedding inspiration was warm, romantic, and timeless. The color pallet featured ivory, gold, black, emerald, and sequins. The bistro lights that fill Barrister’s courtyard created the perfect romantic atmosphere. The evening began with a mix and mingle cocktail hour for our 90 guests. To carry through the date night theme, our guests entered the ceremony space and were greeted by an outdoor wine bar. We wanted everyone to have a chance to relax and enjoy the space before the start of our 7 pm dusk ceremony.

The courtyard was filled with warmth and love as the ceremony began. I was brought to tears walking down the aisle to see our closest family and friends around us. It was truly a special moment. Our officiant was my father’s closest friend before he passed of cancer when I was a young child. Through the ceremony his hands held my father’s bible. A highlight of the ceremony was a candle lit blessing near the end. Our mothers passed a flame through the rows of guests as they each lit their own candle. Ryne and I then lit our unity candle from this flame.

After the ceremony our guests were welcomed into the winery for a mix of buffet and tray passed hors d’oeuvres. Meanwhile, Ryne and I signed our marriage license under the bistro lights in the courtyard. We were welcomed into the winery as our guests surrounded the dance floor. We proceeded into our first dance as husband and wife. The song we selected was a surprise to our guests. We loved hearing their reactions.

Our tables featured black linens with a mix of black and ivory striped runners made by the groom’s mother, and gold sequin runners. Ryne and I antiqued for months to find the vintage emerald glassware that housed our floral arrangements. The beautiful arrangements by Erica’s Expressions featured dozens of dahlia blooms from a local dahlia farm in Spokane.

Ryne and I antiqued for a lot of our wedding items including brass candleholders, emerald glassware, vintage bronze flatware, an emerald suitcase and much more. To commemorate our findings, Ryne gave me an emerald ring as a wedding gift. He and I also made the “SWEETS” marquis sign that adorned our dessert bar.

There is nothing about our wedding that we would change. It was the perfect romantic evening enjoyed by all. If I could give any advise to a couple in the planning process, it would be to find a venue that speaks to you. A venue with charm that will “wow” your guests will save on your decorating expenses. We didn’t have to make the winery look pretty. It is a beautiful venue on its own. Pick your date wisely. If you want an evening ceremony, go with early spring, late fall, or a winter date when the sun is setting at a reasonable hour.

French Farmhouse Inspired Wedding Inspiration in Spokane, Washington

I would have sworn up and down this beautiful wedding inspiration from Urban Rose Photo was perfectly placed in a sweet French village. The delish nosh, the perfect petals, everything down to the stunning calligraphy from Kathryn Murray had me convinced. But no, the pretty party, styled and designed by Alisa Lewis Event Design, was in Spokane. I can’t decide where I need to immediately book my flight to… Washington or France?

From the stylist… The idea was to create a cozy French farm house feel to this wedding scene using fresh herbs and seasonal botanical and food items native to our area with a hint of French country flair. The color palette was soft and subtle with a few hints of muted sage, rich plums, and lavender. We incorporated local fresh herbs in almost every aspect of the vignette. The cake was decorated with lavender, sage, and currants. Each place setting was adorned with a bouquet garni of herbs picked from a local garden. All the other little corners of the vignette were decorated with fresh potted herbs and hand-gathered local florals and greens. Herbed sea salt were the favors for this wedding theme. The bride was adorned in a lace Claire Pettibone Gown that portrayed a very soft and flowing look. The wild crafted details added rustic earthiness to contrast the elegant Parisian style creating an intriguing wedding inspiration.

Spokane Wedding by Brooke Boling Photography

Oh, rustic glam.  Two words that I always love to hear together.  For this country boy and this sparkle-loving gal, that was the ideal vibe for their beautiful barn bash.  All the details they created from the chalkboard painted mason jars to the mercury glass centerpieces perfectly bring their theme to life and the results are exquisite.  Lucky for this couple, the bride’s cousin happens to be an incredible photographer, Brooke Boling Photography, and she captured all the lovely details.  See all the pretty in the full gallery!

From the Bride…Our wedding day was everything I could dream of, it was perfect. We had the most amazing family and friends who helped us make our dream day come true! Dan proposed to me in the end of February, and me being the crazy girl that I am decided we could plan a wedding by September! It definitely can be done and was all worth it but at times it was a bit stressful to say the least. To make things even more difficult, Dan and I live in Denver but wanted our wedding in our hometown, Spokane, WA. But mom to the rescue! My mom was able to tour venues for me, meet with Tana Rekofke, our caterer, gather vases, mason jars, and just about everything we had at the wedding was collected by her!

We decided to go with On River’s Edge, a barn north of Spokane because instantly when touring the site we all saw the vision, Rustic Elegance. Dan and I love the outdoors; he is a little country and I love everything sparkly, so it seemed like a match made in heaven. We had to bring just about everything in to make it unique and Dan even wired and hung the chandeliers himself. The wedding was very DIY, and we made the burlap table runners, Dan’s mom put the chalkboard contact paper on ALL of the mason jars, my aunts put together all of the centerpieces, other aunts made the mini-pies (because Dan loves pie), family friends made the signs, and everyone really came together to pull off this event. We could not have been more fortunate to have so many people that love us help with this special time.

My friend and bridesmaid, Andrea Leslie, happens to be a wedding planner and from the second she landed in Spokane, she was our go to girl! She helped set-up, ran the rehearsal, and made sure the day-of went smoothly, talk about a God-send! Another amazing detail was our amazing photographer, Brooke Boling from Nashville, who happens to be my cousin. She brought her second shooter, Kelli Trontel, and the two of them were able to capture all of our amazing moments that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. I felt so much love on our wedding day and it will be a day I will never forget, and although doing everything ourselves was a lot more work, I think it made it all the more special because literally everything there was done with love.
