Sweet Sarasota Wedding at The Ringling Ca’ D’Zan Mansion

Lovely doesn’t even come close to describing this sweet Sarasota wedding beautifully captured by Divine Light Photography. Not even close. In fact, I’m not sure there is a single adjective that will do this beauty justice. Designed by MMD Events, this gallery is light-filled perfection. See even more here.

Romantic

From the Bride and Groom…We met on e-Harmony. She was overcome with temptation when she saw he was taking ballroom dance lessons and has two hairless cats named Dudeman and Girlfriend. He was instantly intrigued by her picture on a standup paddle board requesting responses only from men with their head on straight. He skipped the prefabbed questionnaire, emailed her directly, and the rest is e-Harmony history.

We are a pretty carefree couple, not much into formalities, so we think it took friends and family by surprise that we chose the gorgeous Ringling Ca’ D’Zan as our venue. Most probably thought we’d elope. Our only criteria was to be outside, simple, and quaint. We love the outdoors. When we saw the Ca’ D’Zan, it was hard to consider any other place. The venue captured our free spirit…totally free within bounds. The Ca’ D’Zan is on the water, outside, classic, elegant, and needed nothing else to make it perfect. The ceremony was by the banyan trees and our party was out by the water, with a historic mansion as our backdrop. Not being the social butterfly of all couples, we opted for a sweetheart table (we skirted temptation to have the table roped off).

We really cannot take any credit for how our wedding turned out other than finding the venue, choosing a “wedding team” that we liked, and choosing light green and light pink as our colors. Spending a little bit of time with everyone on our wedding team went a long way. I think we were most passionate about taking pictures of our four cats (now a blended family) for our table centerpieces. We spent countless hours putting sticky numbers on them, chasing them down, and taking pictures. People who know us best appreciated that little touch. Our day was perfect and the way it was captured was perfect too.

Colorful Nantucket Wedding at the Sankaty Head Golf Club

I’m pretty darn sure, once this post publishes, I will pin every summer-loving image of this picture perfect Nantucket soiree captured by Zofia & Co. Photography. Every single one of them. Because between the stunning florals from Flowers On Chestnut  and the gorgeous ‘Sconset setting, I’m pretty sure I am head over heels in love with this gallery

From the Bride…Michael and I met in college at Fordham University and got engaged on a vacation in Ireland after years of being together. It was a special trip for us as I wanted to show Michael where my family is from since both sides of my family are Irish and my mom was born there. After Michael popped the question in a private spot overlooking the Lakes of Killarney, we headed out for a celebratory dinner in town. Seated next to us were 15 Irish gentlemen who, after realizing we had just gotten engaged, proceeded to go to the front of the restaurant where there was a piano (naturally) and serenaded us in true Irish fashion for over an hour. It was such a special experience and one we’ll never be able to recreate.

We wanted our September wedding to capture some of the natural beauty, local color and connection to our families that we had found in Ireland and Nantucket was our first choice by a landslide. Having grown up on the island, Michael spent months telling me what a beautiful and special place it is when we first started dating. I was immediately hooked on my first trip there to visit his family. The friendly people, pristine beaches and dramatic bluffs reminded me so much of Ireland. We knew it was the perfect spot to celebrate our wedding with our family and friends who were traveling in from Boston, New York, Houston, San Francisco, England, Hong Kong and Italy. In keeping with the spirit of travel, we were drawn to the vintage postcard save-the-dates from Lucky Luxe. We had ours made with the image of the Sankaty Lighthouse as we thought it would be a fun way to invite everyone up to the island to celebrate.

Having our ceremony and reception at the ‘Sconset Chapel and Sankaty Head Golf Club in ‘Sconset were two relatively easy decisions as they not only provided the perfect settings but were two spots that complemented the laid back but elegant feel we wanted our wedding to have. Our mass was officiated by Father Tueth, S.J. a Jesuit priest and professor at Fordham. Though neither Michael nor I had Father Tueth as a professor, he is a beloved fixture on campus and someone we knew we wanted to be part of our big day. He brought a lot of humor to the mass and reception and we were so fortunate to have him. At the reception, we wanted our wedding guests to enjoy the beautiful sunset and local seafood samplings from Spanky’s Raw Bar (a Nantucket staple) and then head inside for a fun party.

We were so lucky to work with our amazing vendors who are all Nantucket locals and know the island inside out. Jodi’s Cakes made our beautiful Sankaty Head Lighthouse cake, the lighthouse that can be seen from the venue. Flowers on Chestnut put together the most beautiful arrangements of colorful wildflowers that popped against the navy blue bridesmaid dresses and lit up the interior of Sankaty without taking away from the views the venue provided. Zofia and Brian from Zofia & Co. Photography were so amazing to work with and we are so happy with the photos they took for us. The images captured the feel of the day and they knew all the right spots to photograph us in ‘Sconset. Zofia even found a dahlia bush that was in bloom with the same deep pink dahlias that were in my bouquet.

A family friend of Micheal’s chauffeured us in his ’54 Ford. Driving with him, my dad and two sisters to the ceremony helped relax any pre-wedding nerves as he made it such a fun, relaxed and unique experience. My ‘something borrowed’ was my mom’s pearl bracelet and my aunt’s platinum set pave diamond four leaf clover earrings from 1920, yet another nod to our Irish heritage. My seamstress sewed my ‘something blue’ wedding label into the inside of my dress that had been given to me by one of my oldest friends & bridesmaid. Michael, who spent time riding cross country on his motorcycle with his best friend in college, wore antique motorcycle cufflinks I had gotten for him at The Missing Link in NYC. For our smallest guests, we outfitted my nephews in Nantucket reds and navy blue striped bow-ties that matched the ribbons in our bridesmaid’s bouquets. They were dancing all night long to music from ECliff and the Swingdogs.

We spent our honeymoon in Italy, where Michael’s side of the family is from and we wish we could do it all over again!

Italian Vespa Engagement in Santa Barbara

What do Nike’s, a basket of pretty blooms, one sweet mint Vespa and skateboards have in common? Why, this adorable e-sesh from Onelove Photography of course! It really doesn’t get any cuter than this SMPers. So cozy up and get to know this gallery because it’s sure to leave you with a big ol’ smile.

From Onelove Photography… Aisha and Will brought their sneakers and hopped on a skateboard through the streets of Santa Barbara to celebrate their love. They ended the shoot with an Italian Vespa ride through the hills!

From the beautiful Bride-to-be… I am a born-and-raised California girl, and Will grew up in Massachusetts but always felt drawn to the West Coast. Soon after we met in Boston we moved out to California and it wasn’t long until it felt like home for the both of us. We were engaged on our 5-year anniversary on my first trip to San Francisco.

When I thought about the concept behind our shoot, I wanted to make sure it perfectly reflected our individual styles. Incorporating our wedding palette consisting of mint greens, ivory and pops of raspberry, we crafted a California Cool vibe. Shot in the secluded hills of Santa Barbara we created two looks, taking style queues from both of our personalities. The first look was casual and comfortable, styled around Will’s affinity for Nike’s and the second featured a custom mint Vespa paired with bohemian bracelets and a casual but romantic ivory dress.

We chose a perfect Sunday in April and the photos couldn’t have turned out better. The warm golden feeling of sunshine perfectly captured the place we call home.

Boho Brooklyn Engagement

It took about two seconds into this engagement shoot for me to realize we had our hands on something special. I’m talking blooms from Pollen Floral Design and photography by Brumley and Wells…or in other words, the dream team. They took to the rooftops of Brooklyn for a boho chic love sesh, and the gallery is proof that #WeddingWednesday is going to be soooo good.

From Brumley & Wells… Zach and Tara’s styled engagement shoot was such a dream thanks to the craftsmanship and artistry of Boston Pollen, who created the floral arrangements and dip-dyed the dress and fabric. Brooklyn provided the perfect backdrop for with its quintessential views of Manhattan and it’s grungy, vibrant streets, a perfect fit for this Greenpoint couple.

Gazpacho with Shrimp

Inspired by our recent trip to Spain, I created this summery gazpacho. With tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers readily available at every farm stand, it’s the perfect late-summer meal. It comes together in minutes. Adding leftover shrimp infuses protein and bulk to your lunch. Serve it with crusty bread and you’ll have a great family dinner or a fancy party appetizer! For more, head on over to Audrey’s.

Urban Bohemian Wedding Inspiration

When you cross boho styling and a loft-style warehouse, pretty things are sure to result. Exhibit A: this absurdly cool shoot brought to life by Sooti Event Styling and DesignKiss My CakesFlower Jar and many more. The talented Alison Mayfield snapped each droll-worthy moment, and it’s all tucked happily in the gallery right here.

Bohemian

From Sooti Event Styling And Design… Our inspiration behind this shoot was the location we scouted, an old loft style warehouse with exposed brick and old wood floors, large arch windows. We wanted a bohemian style, but with an urban twist rather than out in a garden or field as you would normally see. Our inspiration was also drawn from the gorgeous lace dresses we had from Anna Campbell & Mariana Hardwick.

We also had the pleasure of using some of the beautiful Jason Grech wedding gowns. Our models wore stunning floral head crowns and kept the look fairly natural. We wanted it to be slightly deep and moody yet still pretty and I think we achieved that. We were lucky enough to have the gorgeous Anna Campbell and Jason Grech on location with us so it was a real team effort and a fun day had by all. We used the stunning Samantha Wills jewelry too which complimented the dresses.

Garden Glam Styled Shoot

We’ve had a gorgeous day on the LBB blog, there’s no doubt about that. But it’s not over, not by a long shot. If Ben Q. PhotographyEbony Peoples Events & DesignSugar Bee Sweets and The Southern Table have anything to do with it, we’ll be gazing for hours to come. They’ve turned our garden wedding dreams into a work of art with this breathtaking shoot. A touch of glam here and a pretty bloom there, this one is a doozy darlings.

From Ebony PeoplesSpringtime in Dallas is backdrop for an outdoor wedding celebration. I recently teamed up with a talented group of Dallas wedding professionals to create a Garden Glam styled wedding shoot. As wedding professionals, we are hired to assist clients in creating the wedding of their dreams. This styled shoot gave us an opportunity to spread our creative wings and share a bit of inspiration to couples planning an outdoor wedding. We selected a color palette that included peach, shades of pink and red, and metallic gold. These colors perfectly complemented the natural outdoor elements in the garden at Marie Gabrielle. Our goal was to include lots of detail that were a bit outside of the norm including a farm table, candied apple place cards, and a garden soil ceremony.

Our Garden Glam styled wedding shoot took place on a perfect spring Dallas day! The husband and wife duo behind Ben Q. Photography were on hand to capture all of the details with film photography! Ducky Bob’s provided our farm table and the elegant gold tabletop dinnerware. The Southern Table did an amazing job with creating our floral decor using lush springtime blooms! The Bee’s Knees designed all of our wedding stationery, including rhinestone embellished invitations. Sugar Bee Sweets created a beautiful floral adorned, iced wedding cake! Binzario provided a jaw-dropping, couture bridal gown with lots of intricate detail. Marilona Makeovers and hairstylist, Ashley Bristo, were on hand to ensure that our bride looked absolutely stunning! Nails by Avonne provided a manicure for our bride complete with a chic, lace overlay! De’Ana Davis and Kelvin Wilson acted as our model bride and groom for the day!

Ojai Resort Outdoor Wedding

I once wrote in an interview that my dream wedding would feel like a dinner party. Twinkle lights in the trees, dancing to the classic. Good food, great wine and a sense of family built into every detail. And this wedding, is that dream…personified. With photography by Erich McVey, design & planning by XOXO Bride and florals by Kelly Kaufman, this wedding is everything. More right here.

From the bride…When we took our first day trip to the Ojai Valley Inn, we didn’t realize how lucky that choice was at the time. We decided to get married there for nostalgia’s sake, along with wanting to be slightly out of town, and from that moment on the wedding we didn’t know we had dreamt of started falling into place. Enough can’t be said about the staff there, incredibly attentive and not only two steps ahead of us during the planning and on the day, but more importantly, two steps in the direction we wanted to go.

We found our wedding coordinator, Sonia Hopkins, through the Inn, and from the minute I said, “I dunno, like Downton Abby at an outdoor picnic,” she turned a mirage of an idea into an amazing reality. We wanted elegant but not stuffy, refined but relaxed. So we set a gorgeous table then served the meal in French service fashion, with the sides on the table family style.

We built the colors off of the natural beauty of the Herb Garden, greens and whites, sprinkled with lavender and peach. As we are both from English heritage, we stayed with that theme as we jumped out of the box with our band, The Brit Pack, who played all British music ranging from the Beatles to Led Zeppelin. As fun to work with as they were to listen to, we are still getting asked where we found them.

Lastly, our photographer, Erich McVey, gave us the perfect pictures to remember our perfect day. But the best thing about Erich and his wife is that, even though they were there, they still made that special “just married” time between the ceremony and reception feel like it was only the two of us. Our wedding was more than we could have ever thought possible, all from one very lucky choice to take a drive one day to Ojai.

PopUp Dinner in Brooklyn

A friend of mine attended an all white PopUp dinner party last summer, and I swear I spent the entirety of that evening stalking her Instagram account. It’s pretty much the coolest concept ever, and such a wonderful way to bring like-minded people together. This particular beauty was pulled together by Hand Made Events, and with Sorella Muse behind the lens you’re going to want to spend some time in the gallery.

From Hand Made Events… The PopUp Dinner Brooklyn was an elegant, graceful “pop-up” flash dinner picnic that was held in a secret location in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. The location was disclosed to ticket holders three hours before the event began at 5pm. Dinner promptly started at 7pm. The night gathered over four thousand guests dressed elegantly in white as they decorated and designed lavish table decor, and brought their own inspired cuisines with their favorite beverages of choice to enjoy an unforgettable summer evening with friends in Brooklyn. There was an array of wandering musicians during dinner followed by a performance by Ben Folds and later Dj OP for dancing.

PopUp Dinners are spreading across the country! From San Francisco, to LA, to Miami, to Charleston, these events are becoming popular with people everywhere.

Founded in 2011 in San Francisco, Garrett Sathre and Nicole Benjamin, partners at Hand Made Events, are continually inspired and thrilled to create new events that bring people together to celebrate the simple things that connect us all; wonderful food, great wine, and dining with those we love.

They say opposites attract. Take this bride for example – her style is all about modern simplicity. But then if you look closely – with photographs by Christine Choi – you see moments of pure whimsy that made the wedding entirely personal, entirely “them.” Click here for more.

Modern

From the Bride…Our wedding theme is “modern romance” which is so me. I wanted my wedding to match with our personality, modern, simple, intimate, elegant, and romantic. We did not have much color in our wedding – only ivory, grey and a pop of yellow to create a modern look. From the invitations, the programs, the flowers, table numbers, and decoration we kept the palette consistent.

The wedding planning process was actually really fun for me. I DIY-ed most of the items, most of the decor, name cards, table numbers, and Mr. and Mrs Sign. Our wedding turned out fabulous, from our tradition Chinese tea ceremony, first look and wedding ceremony to our reception. It was not only a special day for us, it was one for all our friends and families.

eat.sleep.wear’s Philadelphia Engagement Session

You know her as the voice behind eat.sleep.wear, but today Kimberly is gracing the pages of SMP as a glowing bride-to-be. Along with her handsome beau, she hit the streets of Philly for an engagement sesh with Alison Conklin, and the result is a pretty + playful nod to their upcoming destination nuptials. Let the wedding planning begin!

From Alison Conklin Photography… These are engagement photos of Kimberly and Blake. Kimberly is the force behind the very popular blog Eat Sleep Wear. Her and Blake live in LA, California but are from the Philadelphia area. For their engagement session we ran around the streets of Philly hitting some of their favorite spots. They held pineapples in their photos because they are getting married in Hawaii in May of 2015.

From the Bride-to-be… Philadelphia will always be a city near and dear to my heart. And the funny thing is that I would have never guessed how I would meet my fiancé. A born and raised Philly girl, I spent about 12 years living in the city and working multiple graphic design jobs before starting my fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog. It was a journey that took me to NYC to live my dreams in the fashion world. One of those jobs in Philadelphia was for an agency where I would meet a guy named Blake. We exchanged a few emails about 5 years ago and the only connection between us were our mutual best friends.

Fast forward to 2012 when our mutual best friends got married in Philadelphia. I was living in NYC, Blake was living in San Diego. On a day filled with such love and joy for beautiful friend, I found a connection with my long lost acquaintance from my Philly days. A few months after the wedding, I invited Blake on a whim to come spend New Years Eve with me in NYC. Not expecting him to say yes at all. “Sure! When should I fly out?”

After many flights shared between NYC and San Diego, I found myself moving across the country to be with this man I loved so much. 9 months later… we were engaged

Philadelphia means so much to us both. I knew I wanted to come back for our engagement session. I also knew that no one else but Alison Conklin would shoot those photos. Her eye for catching beautiful light, and laughter between two people is something that has resonated with me for quite some time. I quickly called Alison and begged her to be part of our wedding!

I wanted some special places to my time in Philadelphia to be incorporated into the shoot. We started in Old City which boasted old cobble stone streets, unique doorways, and old world charm. I spent so much time in the green parks when I lived in the city so we made a stop at Washington Square Park to sit on the benches. Our final stop was at some of my favorite tile mosaics in the city. Philly based artist Isaiah Zagar creates mosaic murals all over the city and it makes the streets truly sparkle. It was the perfect backdrop to get silly with a bunch of pineapples. Maybe my pineapple are hinting to the location of my wedding. Can you guess?!

We had the best day running through memories of our past, but also, creating new ones in the city we love so much.

Back to School in Style

So I’ve been out of university for a solid 8 years (omg!), but that doesn’t change the fact that back to school season still excites me to no end. And though my dorm room days are over, I vividly remember the cold, sterile environment we were all faced with come September. But have no fear! With a few accessories (that won’t break the bank), that dorm room, and those classes, are about to become a whole lot more bearable.

Elegant, Rustic Summer Warehouse Wedding at Historic Pritzlaff

I need to profess my love for this wedding, and yet I don’t know where to start. The ceremony backdrop will make your mouth drop right to your desk, the reception is elegant with a fabulous mix of urban and rustic (complete with full size trees), and this couple just couldn’t be more adorable if they tried. It will only take one look at these gorgeous images from Heather Cook Elliott Photography to see why I can’t stop gushing – and you can join me in the swoonfest here

From Heather Cook Elliott PhotographyLindsey & Tim’s wedding day was beautifully styled and made for general photographic awesomeness, but despite the fact that this gallery is full of photographs of all their lovely details, I must write that their wedding day was really and truly about love – the love they share for one another, the love they’ve been blessed to grow up with and the love they’ll have for their future family. Tim & Lindsey met in medical school at Mayo and are starting careers at a prestigious institution out east so yes, they have really good resumes, but at their wedding Tim & Lindsey’s big, happy hearts were what anyone noticed and everyone cared about most. All day they exuded a joyfulness that touched everyone around them, that threatened constantly to well up and over into tears, that made everyone present grateful to be a part of such a day. But Lindsey & Tim didn’t just absorb well-wishes – they continuously gave them back (as I suspect is the norm in their everyday lives) and delighted guests with, delicious foods, sights to be seen, games to be played, dances to be danced and even a meteor shower to be enjoyed. And they said Thank You in a most memorable way. After the toasts and dinners had been enjoyed Lindsey and Tim stood proudly in front of all their guests and told everyone about how lucky and blessed they are to have amazing families, parents and friends. Their parents, they said in particular, had formed them, modeling healthy marriages and lives well lived such that Lindsey and Tim have no doubt that they too will have a happy marriage. And as her dad teared up, Lindsey confirmed what everyone instinctively feels about the two of them – they are ready and excited to make each other the ultimate priority and build lives worth celebrating together. She simply said “mom, dad: we got this.”

And a note about their style – Lindsey & Tim adore their urban warehouse venue but wanted to bring a bit of rustic Wisconsin loveliness to the whole thing. They selected barn tables and soft florals plus live full sized trees (!) to soften the venue’s concrete, timber and brick architecture while mix and match linens and glass chargers dressed up their different shaped dinner tables. They custom upholstered lounge furniture and candle lit as much as possible, adding puzzles, bean bag toss and a band to keep the fun quotient high. Their paper was simply to die for – letterpressed and totally customized to share more details about their old, new, borrow and blue, as well as their gift of education to a needy child in lieu of favors. Their vows were screen printed on large swaths of fabric and hung first in the ceremony space and then as a backdrop to a dance floor lounge – very chic, very urban but still somehow romantic and rustic.

Vintage Parisian Inspired Wedding

A hint of Parisian is our version of perfection and this wedding gets it so right with decor that’s vintage along with a subtle nod to all things French. One look at Kevin Trowbridge’s photos  – the peonies by Classic Creations, the romance and beautiful all white tablescapes coordinated by English Rose and a tres chic photo booth and you’ll agree that Paris is always a good idea.

From the Bride… The theme for our wedding day was classic vintage style. Featuring a hint of “Parisian” elegance with a soft color palette of mint green and blush pink. The “Parisian” theme seemed only fitting as Mitchell proposed to me in Paris. This trip to Europe proved to be full of surprises. It was a planned trip with my mother and I, and Mitchell joined us near the end of our trip at the last moment. Mitchell had always joked that he would propose to me on the Eiffel Tower should we ever visit there. But it certainly was not on my mind that day as we were atop the tower. So not surprisingly, the Eiffel Tower became a special symbol for us and one that we wanted to capture on our wedding day.

Mitchell and I were engaged for almost two years before we got married. During our engagement, we explored many differed options for a wedding destination. Places such as Hawaii, Bora Bora, California and even beautiful Banff, Alberta were on our list. We were determined to have a “destination” wedding but it was also important to us to have our family and friends attend.

But then it came to us, while visiting my dad in Kelowna. BC. We had visited some local wineries and quickly realized that this would be a perfect destination spot. Immediately, we decided upon the beautiful Summerhill Pyramid Winery. Both our ceremony and reception took place at this lovely venue. Summerhill Pyramid Winery is located on the Okanagan Lake with the most breath taking views of the Okanagan. It boasts a charming venue with just the right amount of rustic appeal that certainly would fit with our vintage theme.

I believe that it is the “special little details” that makes a wedding unique. While exploring several wedding blogs and Pinterest for inspiration, I discovered that many of my favourite” vintage inspired” wedding themes were created by “Vintage Origami”. Yuriko is a true artist in her field. She gets to know the wedding couple so that she can incorporate special touches that compliment their own personal tastes and style. She takes great care to create the most beautiful vintage settings where no two weddings are exactly alike.

At our wedding ceremony and reception site, Yuriko incorporated our love for Paris, vintage keys, books and tea cups. Mitchell had pretty much allowed me full creative freedom for the big day, but I wanted to ensure that our day was just as special for him. Mitchell’s love for reading was captured with the most “spectacular” wall of books which served as a backdrop for our Candy Buffet Table. After a closer look, you would also find golden skeleton keys thoughtfully placed throughout the venue. All of these details were so beautiful that everyone was truly in “awe”. To further add to the sentiment of the day, we incorporated old black and white photos of parents, grandparents and family members who were no longer present to help us celebrate our special day. Family has always been important to us and this was a great way to remember them and acknowledge them on this occasion.

For our photography, Mitchell and I opted to have “First Look” photos taken before our wedding ceremony. We thought it would be extra special for him to be the first to see his Bride and of course, for me to see my Groom. These “First Look” photos were taken at the Okanagan Lavendar Farm. The farm featured beautiful hedges that were carved into an interesting maze. While Mitchell stood within the center of the maze, I worked my way through these beautiful hedges until I found my Groom! These made for beautiful photos!

Every aspect of the wedding turned out so beautiful, that I could not have imagined a more perfect day. Even the weather was on our side, despite reports of rain. With the immense planning of every last detail, I was so grateful that we had such AMAZING photographers to capture every detail and every moment. This included candid shots of the wedding party and guests, sentimental moments shared with family and friends and all of the small touches that made our wedding so “uniquely” ours. A couple’s “BIG” day goes by so quickly. So it was important for us to be able to capture these memories and look back and reminisce…not only about the beautiful scenery and décor of that day…but also to remember how we felt about each special moment.

PARIS….is always a good idea!

From Eastport PhotographyAnnie and Jeff met in Africa while in the Peace Corps. “Jeff and I met in the peace corps in The Gambia, West Africa. He arrived a year before me and we met at a party celebrating my group officially becoming volunteers after 2 months of training. We liked each other so much he ended up staying an extra year. We lived about six hour away from each other, and visits meant waking up at the crack of dawn to catch and minibus and arriving covered In Orange dust. We liked it. We finished our service at the end of 2010 and travelled to morocco, Spain, and France.”

For their wedding, they chose the scenic farm setting of Ostertag Vistas in Myersville, MD. Annie and Jeff lucked out with a sunny and beautiful spring day. Annie and Jeff kept many of the details of the wedding simple and natural to complement the simplicity and natural beauty of the Ostertag Vistas Farm. And much of the wedding was DIY! Annie did her own hair and makeup like a pro and she made beautiful bouquets from wildflowers. Friends helped out with the cake, desserts, invitations, DJ’ing, and even officiating the wedding! And Annie’s mom made the wedding favors – homemade honey from her honey hive in California. This wedding was definitely a group effort and made for a truly special day.

The couple decided on a first look, which took place at an adorable cottage on the property. After a few tears (on Jeff’s part), we were able to take some gorgeous portraits of the couple and their wedding party. Before the ceremony, close family and friends gathered inside the small cottage to sign the Ketubah, which was hand-painted by one of Annie’s bridesmaids. The intimate ceremony took place outside, with both mothers delivering special messages to the couple, and Annie and Jeff reciting vows they had written themselves. For the rest of the evening, guests enjoyed dinner and dancing in the barn.

Destination Wedding in Puglia

This destination wedding is exactly what I would imagine an Italian affair to be – white washed surroundings, trailing bougainvillea, al fresco everything and, of course, scrumptious wine. It’s a day filled with easy decor by Masseria Potenti, coordination by Marriage And Glamour and the brightest pop of florals by L’olmo Colmo. Have a look at all the snapshots captured by Les Amis Photo for so much more.

Asia and Averil are living in London but decided to get married with a symbolic ceremony, in the south of Italy, in Puglia. Masseria Potenti is an amazing country house in Puglia and was restored with a vintage and stylish taste. Everything was perfect, there was a beautiful full moon and the atmosphere was magic!

Lush, Natural Inspiration Shoot at the Cathedral Of The Madeleine

If I could, I would crawl into this shoot and live amongst all the pretty forever. Styled to perfection by Erin Kate Photography and Soil & Stem, this gallery is overflowing with the kind of lush, floral-filled inspiration that will make your heart beat a bit faster this morning. See what I mean here.

From Erin Kate Photography and Soil & StemGargoyles peered over the jagged pitches of the roof, while pigeons swooped and cooed around us during this lush courtyard styled shoot.

Our color palate really allowed us to focus on the simple, natural textures of our subject matter: the porous cement, heirloom silver, and the infinite patterns of layered greens that included ferns, eucalyptus, foraged vines, and incredible peppermint scented felt geranium.

Like freshly picked from an overgrown secret garden, our bridal bouquet was a bit wild, but also timeless. This beauty was hand-tied in antique French silk ribbon in the most beautiful shade of dove gray I’ve ever seen.

Other lovely details from the shoot…The bride wore a delicate chiffon gown. Her hair was styled in a simple twist bun adorned with vintage rhinestone barrettes. A guest sign-in book was created with an old book and maidenhair fern was pressed between the pages. Place cards were displayed on vintage silver forks that were wrapped in geranium leaves, fern, and soft blossoms. A cement cake stand displayed a lovely, chocolate naked cake with buttercream frosting spilling out between the layers.

We hope brides will find simple, clean beauty can pair well with unruly, lush stems in this elegant courtyard shoot.
