From their adorable treasure hunt proposal story to their sparkle laden soiree at Marianmade Farm, this stunning Bride & Groom are captivating every inch of my being today through L. Hewitt Photography‘s romantical imagery. It’s the kind of gallery that will put a little pep in your Monday morning step and keep you smiling throughout the day.

From L. Hewitt PhotographyThere’s something charming and lovely about Maine, and I reflect on their rehearsal sail around Wiscasset now. The lapping waters, seafood that is practically pulled right out of the water in front of you, the setting sun and gentle breeze. It’s easy to see how Christina and Nishant fell in love there, and why they decided to celebrate their wedding in Maine.

These two have one of my favorite proposal stories ever.

Nishant surprised Christina with an unexpected treasure hunt. The search started at 5:30 am in New York City with friends and family, taking her to a weekend bag, a plane ticket and bridal magazines to read on her flight.

After finding a tiara, a gorgeous dress and shoes, and more clues from friends, she ended up at the Light house in Portland, Maine, where a dapper, suited Nishant waited with a photographer a garlanded setup, and a proposal.

Nishant and Christina wed on a beautiful summer day in Maine against the backdrop of the breathtaking lavender farm, Marianmade Farm, near Historic Wiscasset.

Christina is lovely and sweet; Nishant is dapper and charming. They brought the grace and chic of New York hosts and were a joy to watch as they demonstrated their love in stories about each other, and surprises for one another throughout the day. And the wedding was full of surprises; a surprise videographer, an Indian dance flashmob, gifts from Nishant to Christina. The bride and groom signs on the back of their chairs were surprises to each other, which kept Kate Martin, the coodinator on her toes. And to cap it off, there was a lovely fireworks display for their guests.

DIY details included toffee favors, programs, tossing petal bags, gold animals on tables and welcome bags.

From The Bride…For our wedding, Nishant and I wanted to create an elegant evening, but with a fun and relaxed atmosphere, not stuffy. Whimsical with a lot of soft colors. Set in a barn, but not rustic. Light, airy and most importantly, just a story of two people who fell in love.

Colorful Outdoor San Antonio Wedding

Every now and then you come across those couples whose joy jumps right off the page. The bride and groom who couldn’t stop smiling if they tried, and in this case, an amazing photographer named Taylor Lord there to document it all. It’s a day built on laid back charm – with two miniature ponies thrown into for good measure – and the party goes on the gallery right here.

From Lindsey BrunkWith infectious smiles and a love that touched everyone involved, Heidi & John’s wedding was joyful in every sense of the word. They celebrated with friends and family at The Settlement, a sprawling new venue in San Antonio. Heidi & John wanted glamour and romance, but with laid back charm. Heidi’s three sisters served as her maids of honor while John’s dad was his best man.

After an emotional ceremony, the party kicked off with prickly pear margaritas and two very special guests, white miniature ponies to celebrate the bride’s love of horses.

One of the many personal details of their Big Day was their sweetheart table for the reception. Heidi’s dad Dave tracked down the very table they sat at on their first date in Austin at a little Italian cafe and surprised the couple with it as an engagement present. It now serves as their kitchen table in their new home.

Other details of their big day included gold hand painted succulents as favors, ceremony music by John’s band, and the invitation suite custom made by a family friend to include a watercolor of the ceremony tree by the bride.

DIY Glittery Valentine’s Day Totes

Who doesn’t love a good tote? They’re the perfect gift. Going to the gym? Throw your gear in a tote. Picking up some goodies for dinner? Tote your spoils home in a cute little bag. Need an impromptu catch-all? Bingo! And why not make that tote glittery and decked out with x’s and o’s to gift to your faves this Valentine’s. Grab the instructions for crafting your very own below!

Materials2 canvas tote bags
Gold glitter iron-on paper
Pink glitter iron-on paper
Scissors
Large letter stickers
Small heart sticker
Heart template
Sharpie pen
Iron

instructions

step-1For the XOXO bag, trace an X sticker and an O sticker twice on the front side of the gold glitter paper (the clear liner that will peel off). Trace the heart sticker on the front side of the pink glitter paper.

step-2Cut out the Xs and Os and heart out of the glitter paper. Line up on the bottom right of the tote bag.

step-3Heat up the iron (make sure the steam setting is off!) and iron the letters onto the bag for about 1 minute. Peel off the liner, and you’re done!

step-4For the striped heart bag, print out the heart template and cut out the heart shape. Trace the heart onto the liner of the pink glitter paper.

step-5Cut out the pink glitter heart. Use the ruler to measure and cut the gold glitter paper into 1.5” strips.

step-6Iron on the pink glitter heart. Iron the first gold glitter strip starting at the top of the tote. Space the next strip about 1.5” lower and iron on just the very edge to keep it in place. Then place the paper heart template on top of the strip and line it up with the glitter heart below. Trace the edge of the heart onto the glitter strip, then cut out along that line to make the strip match the edge of the heart. Iron in place and repeat on the other side of the heart.

step-7Repeat step 6 for the remaining gold glitter strips until the bag is covered. Trim any excess strip off the sides of the bag and iron the edges in place. Remove the clear liners and enjoy your new tote!

Sunset Inspired Newport Wedding

There’s no such thing as too much pink, especially when said hue comes in the form of a Vera Wang gown, luxe Wildflower Linens, and an ombre aisle draped with florals. The sky was the limit for this sunset affair and Victoria Canada Weddings & Events coordinated every detail. With a confetti station and bubbly bar tossed into the mix, I’m saving this Gavin Wade gallery as one of my favs.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/111158844 600 338]

From Victoria Canada Weddings & EventsWhere to begin…we had SO much fun helping to create this fabulous Newport wedding with Brooke and Patrick, everything about it was perfection!

We first met Brooke’s family a few years ago when we planned her older sister’s wedding. Families as sweet as them do not come along often and when we heard that Brooke and Patrick were engaged, we could not contain our excitement and instantly began brainstorming.

Brooke and Patrick “PA” met in Arizona where they grew up. PA was the cute older high school friend of Brooke’s older sister. Eventually Brooke’s infectious smile and bubbly personality caught his eye and the rest was history.

As Brooke was growing up, her family vacationed in Newport Beach. As soon as she stepped foot on the Pelican Hill Property as a little girl, she knew she wanted to get married at The Resort at Pelican Hill. We loved how special this venue was to her, and we were immediately inspired by the change of scenery.

The view of the Pacific Coast from the resort is undoubtedly one of the most gorgeous features and this was something we knew right away we wanted to focus on throughout the planning process. Because the ceremony was shortly before sunset, the vibrant colors that show up in the sky were a natural choice for the color palette! With the Newport sunset on our minds, we collaborated with Nisie’s Enchanted Florist to create floral in various hues of pink, orange, and white.

The draped rotunda gave the ceremony space plenty of drama but because you can never have too many flowers(!) we added some rose petals and pomander balls down the aisle, as well as larger arrangements. To add a modern element, the arrangements were placed on mirrored boxes that matched the natural essence of the lawn.

Brooke and PA are such a fun and easy-going couple and we wanted to make sure they had plenty of elements throughout their wedding that matched their personalities. Instead of just writing their own vows, they decided to each write ten things they loved about each other. This moment became even more special when everyone realized many of the things they each picked were the same!

After they read their vows they put them in a wine box to open up together sometime in the future. Instead of using the typical wine box, we chose a clear acrylic box. Their names and date were monogrammed on the box and for some added fun; we placed the wine bottle on a bed of gold and pink glitter! Brooke is a girl who firmly believes “you can never have too much glitter” and we incorporated it wherever we could!! Once they were finally announced husband and wife, their guests celebrated by tossing confetti and rose petals they had acquired from the confetti bar at the start of the ceremony. What a way to start your marriage with beautiful petals and confetti raining down with huge grins on your faces!

Cocktails were the focus of the next hour with refreshing signature drinks with names like “Newport Sunset” and a Bubbly Bar with a slew of delicious options! A white Manzanita tree used for seating cards was a focal point and as a subtle tie to the destination, white coral was placed on some tables as décor.

Guests were welcomed into a ballroom for dinner and dancing and because this was the first time the guests were inside, we wanted to make sure it didn’t disappoint. Flowers were found throughout the entire ballroom, whether it was the floral chandelier hanging over the dance floor, the chair bands, or the single rose at every guest’s place setting. The linen on the guest tables had a subtle floral pattern and we incorporated the same design on the custom round dance floor. To highlight the head table, we used a mirrored tabletop and paired it with fabric dining chairs for a luxurious and comfortable look!

Later in the night, a surprise after party area was opened and the real party continued. A second dance floor and a photo area kept the guests entertained all night; only slowing down to grab some lobster corn dogs or a mini grilled cheese.

The bride and groom rode off into the night in the Pelican Hill Bentley to start their journey together!

From The Bride…It’s all about the details! When small, unique details come together it makes for a one of a kind event and that is exactly what I wanted for my wedding. Patrick and I wanted our wedding to be somewhat monochromatic with the floral being the pop of color. Often times we referred to our floral as “after sunset” because of the orange, coral, and pink flowers.
One design element I especially loved was the mirrored head table; it made a huge statement in the room. Candlelight was reflective creating amazing lighting and many different floral arrangements brought the whole table together.

The confetti toss at the end of the ceremony was my favorite moment. As the guests arrived they were faced with a confetti bar. Guests could create their own mix of different kinds of confetti to toss as we walked down the aisle.

I enjoyed the entire day and couldn’t have dreamed of a more perfect day!

Elegant St. Louis Garden Wedding

I don’t think there are enough adjectives to describe just how much I love this Sappington House wedding. For starters, the couple’s adorable pup acted as their ring bearer (obsessed), and those blush Jenny Yoo bridesmaids’ gowns are beyond pink perfection. Lisa Dolan snapped up a gallery filled with all the pretty, and lucky us because it’s all right here!

From Lisa DolanBrittney and Josh are college sweethearts who are completely adorable and so in love. Their wedding day was the perfect mix of their styles. The ceremony and reception were both stylish but still intimate with close friends and family. Brittney chose a color scheme of pale pink and gold and brought in some vintage accents with hints of lace.

Everything about this day was so thoughtful and sweet. From the monogrammed hangers/cups the bride gave out as her bridesmaids gifts to the ring bearer (the couples dog, Brylee)!

The ceremony took place on the grounds of the Historic Sappington House in St. Louis, with a reception that followed at The Edge of Webster. The couple completely transformed the reception space by adding their own lighting and drapery. In lieu of a sit down dinner, Brittney and Josh chose to serve BBQ from a local St. Louis BBQ joint – Bogarts. The coupled also opted out of the traditional cake and served cupcakes made by Jilly’s Cupcake bar, as well as cookies and rice krispy treats! The cupcakes were decorated in accents of gold, and were almost to pretty to eat!

This wedding was all about family, which is what made it so special. Brittney and Josh went above and beyond to make sure their family and friends had a great time, and it showed. Brittney chose her sisters and cousins to join her in her wedding party, and the gorgeous bouquets and floral arrangements were made by the couple’s relatives.

Riviera Maya Wedding at Secrets Maroma Beach

It’s official – I need a vacation.  Or more specifically, a dream-worthy excursion to the Riviera Maya. Because if there is one thing that this gorgeous wedding has taught me, it’s that Secrets Maroma Beach is all kinds of awesome AND the perfect place to host a toes in the sand, party ’til dawn type of affair. Think elegant details meets stunning imagery captured by John Cain.  See them here.

From John Cain Photography… For their wedding, Beth and Brook wanted to take their guests somewhere to escape. They transplanted their guests and their traditional style to a gorgeous Mexico destination wedding in the Riviera Maya. This winter resort wedding was a break from the freezing temperatures in Texas where the bride and groom and many of the guests came from.

Every element planned and unplanned spoke to the couple’s calm demeanor. The destination was the greatest significance that it created a location where friends and family could truly focus on celebrating the bride and groom.

White sands made for the perfect accent to their black and white bridal party. Guests entered the ceremony relaxed and took their seats to find sunglasses on their chairs to ease the tropical rays, while a guitarist invited their attention prior to the families and wedding party entering.

Traditional vows were exchanged surrounded by romantic landscape of palm trees and vibrant green foliage. The white lengthy staircase lined with Mexican pottery was the perfect backdrop for portraits leading into their poolside outdoor reception. You could taste the sea salt in the air and resort mariachis serenaded the cocktail hour underneath string lights and draping.

The night was spent under the stars and at a distance that allowed for the sound of the waves to keep time. Their seated dinner was followed by a monogrammed dessert table and dancing into the morning hours.

Rustic Golf Themed Georgia Wedding

When a theme is done well, the outcome can be fantastic. And that is what we have here with this couple’s love of golf represented perfectly at their summer celebration. No Regrets Events incorporated tees, golf markers and clubs throughout the rustic wedding with The Reason capturing every detail. These pics have me ready to dust off my clubs and get outside with my fiancé for a session of our own.

From No Regrets Events… Amanda’s family has called Lake Sinclair in Milledgeville, Georgia home for a long time so she and Bill knew that Lake Sinclair and the beautiful golf course of the Milledgeville Country Club would be the perfect backdrop for their August wedding. Their lifetime love of golf brought them together and they enjoy spending their off time on the fairways. It was only reasonable that their wedding ceremony should take place on the 18th tee box overlooking beautiful Lake Sinclair and that their reception would be on the 16th tee of the same course.

Amanda’s presented Zeb Grant of Z. Grant Designs with a unique wedding challenge…no cut flowers in the bride’s bouquet and any used for centerpieces should be kept to only seasonal locally grown items! Of course, Zeb rose to the challenge by incorporating beautiful succulents, vintage furniture and golf clubs, live plants and trees that have to be repurposed on the club’s golf course in honor of the bride’s father, and Zeb even incorporated a monogrammed golf club marker into the groom’s boutonniere and the bride’s bouquet. Since blue hydrangeas are in abundance this time of year in Georgia he used blossoms cut from his yard in the buffet centerpieces. We did sneak a single white rose into Amanda’s grandmother’s tussy mussy in remembrance of her grandfather.

We are certain many golfers have said a prayer or two on the 18th hole, but the beautiful pews by P.E.W.S. gave the tee box the feel of a sanctuary. The antique door alter was created by Vintage Rentals and framed the couple with the lake in the background. Vintage golf clubs served as pew markers and lovely urns set the alter off perfectly.

For the reception, Amanda and Bill were all about comfort foods made with fresh, local products, with a southern flair. The Chef at the Milledgeville Country Club went above and beyond to source products and to beautifully present them.

Amanda and Bill are huge sports fans and their favorite game watching food is boiled peanuts and craft beer. They wanted to share these favorite items with their guests so they presented a beer in a koozie with the couple’s logo and peanuts in a Weck jar as favors.

Amanda and Bill chose to remain at the reception until its conclusion rather than having a grand send off. They wanted to spend as much time as possible with their family and friends.

Romantic Malibu Summer Wedding

Future brides take note: do not fear the non-white dress! This bride’s blush gown is absolutely stunning, from its color to the layers of gorgeous fabric. Add in beautiful roses from The Little Branch and the expert taste of Twine Events and we have a Malibu masterpiece, all captured by Hannah Arista Photography for us to enjoy on this dreary Monday. Grab some inspiration to get the week started right this way!

From Twine Events… I believe the photos speak for themselves. While we love the pretty details of the wedding, you are truly swept away with this couple’s documentary style photos from Hannah Arista. You get a sense of the couple’s playful love, tender embraces, silly interactions, and gratitude toward their family all through the photos. They’ll be able to experience these timeless moments over and over for a lifetime. Such a treasure!

You definitely don’t need much when getting married at the Adamson House. This historic, outdoor venue in Malibu provides so much beauty on its own – ocean views, manicured lawns, rose gardens, historical details, and that perfect California weather. Which was even more important to the couple since they are now living in New York and had some family and friends flying in for the wedding. It was the perfect summer escape and time to celebrate! The bride decided to keep the main details neutral (gray, cream, nude) and add accents of soft pinks and yellows. This was carried throughout the day from the bride’s attire, stationery (made by the bride, Jinny, and her friend, Clarice), linens, flowers, pashminas, and table settings. After all the formal moments of the ceremony, photos, dinner, toasts, the bride changed into her second dress which allowed her to dance! And what a party it was – guests donned glow in the dark accents, visited the photo booth, cheered with tequila shots, enjoyed cake and specialty puddings, and danced the night away.

Ford Plantation Wedding with Southern Elegance

When these Southern sweeties began planning their Big Day, representing family roots was an absolute must. Surrounded by Spanish moss and starlight, Caroline Carter planned an evening around Southern specialties served family style accented by wild grass Garden On The Square blooms. TimWill and Artworks Wedding Cinema beautifully captured the joy felt, and you can see it all here!

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/80563766 600 338]

From the beautiful Bride…We wanted our wedding day to feel full of warmth and joy. The kind of warmth and joy that overcomes you after you share a delicious meal and wine with your oldest friends and family. That’s the good stuff. We wanted that same joy and warmth to permeate through every aspect of our day. Sort of like a thank you to our guests for giving us the same happiness our entire lives.

There was no question when planning the wedding that we would get married at The Ford Plantation, a place that is truly special to our family and us. For years Will and I would tell our friends about this amazing place and we couldn’t wait to share it with them. We wanted our guests to experience the same magic that enchants us about Ford. As an interior decorator, surroundings are very important to me. I wanted our décor and flowers to enhance the breathtaking beauty that surrounded us, almost like they could have always been there. Our ceremony couldn’t have been more magical. Will’s sister delivered a heartfelt and personal homily, the soft evening sun beamed through oak trees as we exchanged vows, and we made our way down the aisle as a married couple to Mumford & Sons, “I Will Wait”.

We dined under the stars surrounded by the swaying Spanish moss covered oak trees that lined the property. We drank a variety of bourbons curated by our fathers, and Schramsberg, an ode to our engagement. We shared buttermilk fried chicken (my grandma’s specialty!), shrimp and grits, and biscuits and cornbread. We insisted on eating family style to give that feeling of friendship and warmth. We danced under sparkly chandeliers and ended the evening with glittery gold pom poms during our favorite wedding song, “Shout” by the Isley Brothers. Not a single person strayed away from the dance floor that night.

After eight years of dating, we finally had all of our family and friends in one place and could finally call each other “husband” and “wife”. It was the most joy and warmth we’ve ever felt. It was certainly worth the long nights of DIY and a very patient husband dealing with a garage covered in gold glitter and spray paint.

We were so grateful to work with such an amazing team of vendors. A big thank you to Caroline Carter who personally harvested wild grasses for our flower arrangements off the side of the highway (and was questioned by the highway patrol, talk about a superstar!) and to Tim Willoughby who beautifully captured exactly what our hearts felt that day: WARMTH and JOY!

Valentine Date Idea: Romantic Balloon Ride

Looking for a new and fun way to sweep your love one off their feet this Valentines day? What about a hot air balloon ride? I’m totally sold on the idea after spending some serious QT with these images from Ryann Lindsey Photography at Float Balloon ToursHoot & Holler whipped up a day that would make any day extra special, and there is even more inspiration here

From Hoot & HollerFour real couples got all dolled up for this romantic, styled shoot. We put together our dream Valentine’s Date with Float Balloon Tours. Your evening starts off by watching the breath-taking 80ft. balloon slowly inflate in the middle of the Arizona desert. Our couples sipped on locally roasted coffee from Cartel then piled into the balloon for a ride. After experiencing the gorgeous views of the Arizona landscape, guests indulged in a meal that had all of us drooling. Chef Bianco created the menu complete with a roasted beet galette, unwrapped tamales with grass-fed beef and locally grown and ground polenta, delicious tomato jam, a bright citrus salad, and fresh-pressed grapefruit mimosas. Dessert was provided by Chocolade Van Brugge; authentic liege waffles topped with gourmet Belgian chocolates. Each couple laughed and chatted as the sun set. Standard wax candles flickered on the table for some added ambiance.

Float Balloon tours is offering this incredible package for Valentine’s day this year. The sentiment is #overrussellstover and focuses on a truly intimate and unique Valentine’s day provided by the best Phoenix has to offer.

Intimate Connecticut Wedding at Gwyn Careg Inn

Sentimental and sweet, this is the kind of wedding that will melt anyone’s heart. I mean, the letters the Groom delivered before they said I do alone basically turned me into mush. So when you pile on a priceless film from Fairytale Studio and precious images from Ashley Therese Photography, we are left with a post that’s just about perfect. See more here.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/103936865 600 338]

From Fairytale StudioThe way they love one another is sweet and pure. They show their love everyday through small beautiful gestures that are the things fairytales are made of. They appreciate the other so very much, and act accordingly. They truly love the other wholeheartedly. So it came as no surprise that the gifts Kaitlyn and Mark surprised one another with on their wedding day were handwritten and straight from the heart.

While Kaitlyn was getting ready their was a soft knock at the door… It was the sweet ring bearer delivering a beautiful wooden box from Mark. Kaitlyn tried her best to hold back tears as she slowly opened the box to reveal the sweetest gift: dozens and dozens of hand written letters from Mark. And not just any letters, but each one in an envelope marked on the outside for her to read in all sorts of situations… “Read this when you are lonely.” “Read this when you have no one to talk to.” “Read this when you are excited.” “Read this when you accomplish something.” Heart melted. Who WRITES love letters like this anymore?! Mark does and that’s one of the reasons Kaitlyn is madly in love with him.

And shortly there after, on the other side of the inn there was a knock on Mark’s door. Kaitlyn had her gift to Mark delivered. It was a journal… A journal she started writing in when they first started dating. The pages were filled with love letters and stories. Memories she never wanted to forget and things she wanted them both to remember forever. The second half of the journal was filled with blank pages for them to write in together as husband and wife. His.heart.melted. Totally. These two are truly soul mates who constantly love one another in big and small ways.

Kaitlyn and Mark’s Gwyn Careg Inn wedding was so breathtaking. The beautiful clouds that painted the sky during their ceremony, melted away and the warm sun poured over the gardens. Their tented wedding reception was bursting at the seams with sunshine, laughter, and dancing. Their family and friends celebrated with the newlyweds, breaking it down on the dance floor until the sun traded places with the moon and stars.

Rustic Hawaiian Wedding at Puakea Ranch

When I read that these two met at a cooking class in Paris, I just knew I was in for a treat. One look at these photos by James Rubio and my hunch was confirmed. From the gorgeous gown to the perfectly executed design by  The Chapter of Love, this rustic-meets-elegance-meets-island vibe celebration came together beautifully. It’s been a long week so sit back and indulge in all the eye candy right this way.

From The Chapter of Love.. Mai and George’s wedding was a marriage of cultures: Hawaiian, Japanese and French! George is from the Big Island of Hawaii and Mai is from Japan but they met in Paris while both taking a Ritz cooking course abroad. They fell in love wandering the streets of Paris together! But before tying the knot at the beautiful Puakea Ranch, they were in a long distance relationship for nearly two years while they went back to their homes in Japan and Hawaii.

Mai’s taste was exquisite – simple, romantic elegance and this worked perfectly in this unique Hawaii ranch setting. She chose playful florals that nodded to the rustic yet sweet setting. Mai made her own cake and desserts as a tribute to how they met and all were perfectly executed!

Because they love going to the movies together and remember many fun dates sharing popcorn, we decided to incorporate a mini-popcorn bar into the cocktail hour.

From the Bride… I always dreamed about my favorite movie ‘Notting Hill.’ I love some of the music in the movie, and especially I always loved the song ‘SHE’ scene. I thought it would be nice to make our wedding a little like that garden wedding atmosphere for ceremony and cocktail hour!

Round Hill Hotel and Villas

One of my oldest + best friends is starting to plan her very own destination wedding. And my biggest piece of advice to her? Book the Round Hill Hotel and Villas. Located in breathtaking Montego Bay, Jamaica, this hidden gem offers an intimate and elegant venue with an incredibly laid-back vibe.

Easily accessible from most major international cities, Montego Bay, Jamaica has everything you and your guests would want in a destination — golden sand beaches, breathtaking views of the Caribbean sea and lots and lots of sunshine! Round Hill even assures exclusivity, promising you that your wedding or event is the only one for the weekend. Featuring Ralph Lauren inspired oceanfront hotel rooms, luxe 2-6 bedroom private villas with pools + dedicated staff as well as an award winning culinary team and on-site wedding planners, what’s not to love about Round Hill Hotel and Villas?

There is something so romantic and special about this venue, I’m just dying to visit!
