Intimate Destination Wedding at the Cabo Surf Hotel

This intimate celebration almost didn’t happen due to a hurricane only weeks before, but thanks to a talented team of vendors and friends and family, this couple pulled it off. Held at the gorgeous Cabo Surf Hotel, these two said “I do” among sandy shores and loved ones, soaking up every inch of beauty that Mexico has to offer, and Sara Richardson captured it all. Feel the sand on your toes right here.

From The Bride… San Jose del Cabo holds a special place in our hearts, so when Christian and I became engaged we immediately decided that we wanted to be married in San Jose del Cabo at the Cabo Surf Hotel.

Just weeks before our wedding, Hurricane Odile came ashore close to our wedding venue. We were deeply saddened to see the destruction Odile caused to the area, and to the lives of the people who live there. With heavy hearts, we canceled our October 11, 2014 wedding at the Cabo Surf Hotel because no airlines were flying into the area. This decision was especially difficult because Christian’s family had already traveled to the United States from Australia to attend our wedding, and would be unable to return for a later wedding date.

Then, days before October 11, 2014, it was announced that one flight a day would be flying to Los Cabos from Los Angeles. Christian and I quickly decided that we wanted to get both of our families on one of those flights, so we could get married at one of our favorite places in the world, surrounded by the most important people in our lives. Luckily, we were able to get plane tickets for everyone. I also called all of our vendors, and everyone was still able to be a part of our wedding.

When we arrived at the Cabo Surf Hotel, the staff graciously greeted us with margaritas and made us feel very welcome. Throughout our stay, Martha and the entire Hotel staff worked tirelessly to ensure that the Hotel would be beautiful for our wedding. And it was. Our wedding day was effortless. We began the day swimming in the ocean and relaxing by one of the Hotel’s swimming pools. Afterwards, Christian got ready with the boys – our son, Byron, and my step-son, Baden. And I got ready with my Mom.

Byron and Baden were our two best men, and all four of us walked down the aisle together as a family. We wrote our own vows, and our friend, Chris Johnson, officiated the wedding. The flowers designed by Pina Hernandez were beyond perfect. Adan Mijares sang and played the Mexican guitar beautifully. Martha Lomeli seamlessly organized the entire event. And our photographer, Sara, with her husband Ramon, captured the entire day in stunning photographs.

We ended our wedding day at a candlelit dinner table overlooking the ocean, laughing and enjoying time with our families. We could not have asked for a more special way to start our life together.

Elegant Brooklyn Winery Wedding

Take some seriously elegant details + lush florals from Foxglove Floral Design Studio and pair them with the industrial awesomeness that is the Brooklyn Winery and you have the recipe for one totally fabulous party.  Now add in a bride that you’ll all wish was your bestie rockin’ a sweet Watters gown from Lovely Bridal and it’s a happy, happy Tuesday with images from Isabelle Selby.  See them here.

From the Bride… In planning our wedding, the thing that I kept coming back to was that I just wanted a kind of “elegant rager”–a beautiful party that was also super fun and really felt personal to the two of us. I think we nailed it!

What I didn’t fully expect was how overwhelmingly emotional and sentimental the day would be — I started crying when Jessica from Foxglove dropped off the (perfect) bouquets while we were getting ready and basically didn’t stop! My two best friends (who introduced Tim and me by giving him a coaster with my name and number written on it) officiated the ceremony so impeccably, and set the fun and personal tone that lasted throughout the night. Tim surprised me by having a few musician friends pop up from the audience to play “All You Need Is Love” for our processional–it was so sweet.

We made replicas of the infamous coaster that served as place cards, and the mirror that functioned as escort cards came off of our living room wall. Brooklyn Winery was the ideal space with the most amazing food and drinks. Our photographer, Isabelle (and her assistant Justin), were such calming and amazing presences throughout the day, and that shows in the gorgeous photos.

My Aunt made the flawless funfetti cake, our guests danced like crazy, and even though the bridesmaids dresses had only been seen together through internet collages, everything was perfect and beautiful.

Most of my planning was virtual and internet-hypothetical; to see it all come together was amazing and rewarding. Looking back, I feel so much gratitude—so many people have said that the day felt so “us”. We’re so happy everyone felt the love (and the party)!

From Michelle Elaine… Having met Sara just six weeks before her wedding day, you can imagine the amount of information needed to ensure the most perfect day! The one piece of information, however, that was very obvious is her love for Tim. I can still remember her opening his gift to her on their wedding day morning. She looked happily shocked and just cried such tears of joy. I have never met such an emotional bride and it was amazing. Their first look was full of sweetness and they have what many people search for – real love.

Their natural styles coordinated so well and the quaint ambiance of the Brooklyn Winery pulled it all together. From “I do” to their first dance, there was so much love and emotion, but the kind where the couple acts as if nobody is watching… or like everybody is watching but they just don’t care!

They are a perfect fit, two peas in a pod and I cannot say any more kind things about Sara, Tim or both of their beautiful families. They were such a pleasure and the team here wishes them many, many years of happiness – which we know they will have!

From Rebekah of A&B Creative… Matt & Shadi are such an incredible couple, the respect and adoration they have for one another, and their growing family is such an inspiration. We only had three months to find the venue and create the design for their big day, but I couldn’t be happier with how the whole day came together.

They chose a venue with a stunning view and we created designs including a head table that was a little out of the box. Shadi wanted lots of color, and a design that was incredibly romantic and very summery. Along with Amanda of Mandolin Flowers we created an incredibly romantic and lush runner that paired perfectly with the gold flatware and sea foam green plates and classic cut glass coups from Frances Lane. Little touches of calligraphy from Bright Room Studio added more romance and personality to the venue and celebration. We added cascading globe lights above the head table. I highly recommend trying to think outside the box/your venue to try to create exactly what you’ve dreamed of! This venue didn’t have an outdoor reception space, so we created one for the head table and for their guests to come enjoy their drinks around in an area that had previously only been used as a space for guests to get air. We transformed it into Shadi and Matt’s dream, and you never would have known it wasn’t made for that purpose!

Looking over all of Hannah’s stunning images you can’t help but feel the utter joy and love the couple and all of their friends and families felt all day long.

From the Bride… We planned our wedding in three months and we tried so hard to keep our focus on the important things. We didn’t stress and loved every bit of the process we really tried to cherish it all. We were so excited to plan something that truly expressed our love for each other. We wanted to have a very intimate feel. Our wedding day was a sweet testament of our love and journey in life. A day to celebrate with those that have been a crucial part of our lives. Our day was not only a day that we got to be joined together as one but also a day where we became a FAMILY. It was very important to us that the boys were a big part of our day. The boys being Matt’s best men was also something that was so extremely special. Seeing the joy in our boys’ faces that day made it perfect.

Romantic Destination Wedding in Santorini

If there was ever a wedding to evoke immense wanderlust in all, this right here is it. Captured by George Pahountis and Wedfilms, this whole destination celebration seems out of a movie, from the band serenading outside the ceremony to the epic views of Santorini. Stella & Moscha of Exclusive Greek Island Weddings created a masterpiece and I’m pretty sure it doesn’t get more amazing than this.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/119871561 600 338]

From Stella And Moscha, Exclusive Greek Island Weddings… Andriana and Alex’s Destination Wedding weekend was the perfect blend of relaxation, elegance, celebration and honoring roots. Set on the stunning island of Santorini in Greece, each moment of the day was full of beautiful vintage details, old world charm, bright skies and a spirited group of guests ready to celebrate the bride and groom. The ceremony took place at the Cathedral Church of Santorini on the cliff-edge overlooking the volcano. The couple wanted to honor their heritage so in true Greek style Alex waited for the Bride outside the church whilst Andriana was serenaded by local musicians; a custom which has survived through the centuries. Champagne cocktails and dinner followed at the La Maltese Estate which undoubtedly has an extraordinary view of the uber-famous sunset of Santorini. Since this was an intimate wedding with 40 guests we set up a long table so this felt like a family gathering. It was truly touching to see the entire wedding saying a prayer before dinner with this dramatic background. One of our favorite details was the mirror ‘aisle’ that covered the centre of the entire dinner table filled up with candles and touches of silver and gold creating a wonderful vintage-like sparkle. A mix of porcelain and glass vases filled with lush bouquets of hydrangeas, orchids and roses complemented the look. Adding to this the sun just hitting the water right in front of them making it sparkle, and enough clouds in the sky to make a perfect soft box for photos. A Greek band made sure there was enough ‘syrtaki’ whilst the mighty-talented Showtime DJ’s kept everyone on the dance floor until the early morning hours. The wedding had the couples stamp all over it, whilst also paying homage to what the island stands for. And all this captured perfectly by George Pahountis.

From The Bride… Our parents have been longtime family friends and a couple of years ago we found ourselves at the same wedding – fate may have played a role when were were seated next to each other at the rehearsal dinner. Immediately Alex and I felt that we had known each other for years and could not stop chatting all evening. I returned back home after the wedding weekend to find the most beautiful bouquet of flowers sent by Alex. Although we were living in different cities this did not deter our mutual enchantment. Our relationship grew stronger through the years and last Christmas Alex asked me to be his wife! While trying to decide where and how we would marry, all of the possibilities were thrilling! We knew that we wanted something small and intimate. Both Alex and I share the common thread of having family from Greece. When we were discussing where to have our wedding it seemed that no other venue would suffice. We were married on September 16th at sunset overlooking the most picturesque views of Santorini. Santorini was the perfect location for this magical and momentous occasion. Our style was very much classic with vintage old world glamour. Ethereal, dreamlike… romantic. Candle light… We could not be happier with the way our story unfolded.

Navy Ontario Golf Club Wedding

I usually like to introduce a wedding with a little dose of wit, but when a bride shares words this beautiful and sincere, it only feels right to  begin otherwise, “It’s funny, through the entire planning process I stressed about the tiniest things – would we get our café au lait dahlias for our centerpieces? Would our speeches stay on schedule? At the end of the day, none of this stuff mattered. I was marrying the love of my life, surrounded by our absolute favorite people and nothing could bring me down. When He Found Her and Bright Sky Weddings captured each moment and it’s just a scroll away.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/115837041 600 338]

From the planner Lisa Garofalo… Jennifer was a dream bride. She had a clear vision as to how she saw her wedding day unfold right from the start. It was a beautiful October day, until a rainstorm deterred our plans for an outdoor reveal. This did not stop Jen and Mike from getting some amazing photos, including those with a vintage car, a 1930 Packard, which her father had been saving just for her wedding day.

As guests arrived to Eagles Nest Golf Club, they were greeted with a glass of pink champagne to start the party. They took their places inside the Great Hall, adorned with a stunning green and ivory garland trailing down the aisle, ending at a draped birch arch. Jen was out of this world gorgeous in her Vera Wang gown and Mike wore his firefighter dress uniform. This was extra special as he had just been hired on the fire department a couple months earlier.

The best moment of the day for Jen and myself would be when Jen walked into the Great Hall to see the reception fully set-up, including her stunning head table filled with greenery, mercury hurricane candles and marquee lights that said LOVE. Instead of a plated dessert, guests were able to pick treats from a custom dessert station by the talented Nadia from Nadia & Co., while Barbara from The Lettering Studio created a chalkboard legend of all the desserts. Guests danced the night away to the Dave Murphy Band and Nth Degree entertainment, while they snacked on late night poutine, big mac sliders and sweets from the candy bar.

From The Bride… My husband, Mike always says that our love story is his very favorite. He tells everyone with such pride, knowing that we are so very lucky to have married into each other’s incredible families. Many people say their wedding was years in the making, but ours was, literally, years in the making. Our parents have been good friends for over 25 years, so Mike and I met for the first time when we were just toddlers. As fate would have it, four summers ago Mike was coming to Ontario for a wedding and his date cancelled on him last minute, so he invited me as his back up! My mom was beyond thrilled because I’m certain she knew this was my first date with my future husband. Mike kissed me the second he saw me (before even saying hello) and later told me that he knew at that very moment that we would be together forever. Shortly after our first date, I followed my love to Vancouver and 14 months later, brought him back home to Toronto with me to be near our families.

I have been dreaming of my wedding for what seems like my entire life, and so when Mike proposed to me, I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted our wedding to look like. When we started planning, I was so determined to create a beautiful, over the top, magazine-worthy wedding. After several talks with Mike, my family and some fellow brides, my focus shifted and I realized above all else, this day was about celebrating our love with the people who mean the most to us. We wanted to make sure our guests had the most amazing time and felt taken care of from start to finish. We sat down and made a list of our priorities, and decided to focus our energy on the things we agreed were most important in a wedding: venue, food, music and photography.

Mike and I visited about 10 venues before we went to Eagles Nest Golf Club. The minute we walked in we knew it was the place we would get married. Our dream would have been to get married at my family cottage, but because of size, we knew it wasn’t possible. Eagles Nest was the closest thing we could find to a cottage – a beautiful balcony overlooking the golf course, neutral décor and floor to ceiling windows in the Great Hall. We also lucked out that the food at this venue was absolutely phenomenal. We chose the Dave Murphy Band as we had heard them play a couple times before and knew they would be perfect to entertain our guests. They absolutely surpassed every expectation we had of them. The 6 piece band played every genre of music you could think of – from the Beatles and Van Morrison, to Tupac and Robin Thicke, and everything in between. Our entire dance floor was packed right until the lights came on! We found our photographer, Reid of When He Found Her, through a friend who was getting married a couple months before us. Photography was number one on my list and Reid’s photos blew my mind. They were so natural and beautiful and from the first time I saw his work, I knew no one else could photograph the most important day of our lives. Reid has this ability to capture the pure, candid joy of a wedding day, and every time I look at our photos I am reminded of just how happy I was in each of these moments. Once we found a date that worked for the venue, band and photographer, we locked it down and began filling in the blanks for our dream fall wedding.

As soon as I met with Lisa, our planner, I knew we were in good hands. I had so many ideas as to what I wanted our wedding to look like and she was vital in bringing them to life. I wanted to keep our décor neutral with a palate of navy, grey, cream and the tiniest bit of blush. I let Lisa take creative lead on our head table and it was something out of a dream. I nearly burst into tears when I walked into the reception space to see the table lined with gorgeous garland, an abundance of candles and the marquee LOVE sign. I was so thrilled with how our stationary, signage, linens and florals all came together to create this beautiful, elegant garden party I had dreamt up in my head.

So many details contributed to making this day so special. I had always known my processional would be Here Comes the Sun by The Beatles, so to hear the string quartet play this as the doors opened into our ceremony was so surreal. I walked down the aisle with my mom and dad on either side of me, to my handsome groom in his firefighter dress uniform. Our gorgeous flower girl, Isla, is the daughter of our friends who got married four summers ago, on that weekend that Mike and I first met. I am a strong believer that everything happens for a reason, and our wedding day was a lovely testament to that.

Buying my dress was not an easy process. In the first month that we were engaged, I tried on over 65 dresses. I ended up buying one, but only out of desperation. It was beautiful, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that it wasn’t “the one”. Finally, 3 months before the wedding I went back to Vera Wang to try on a dress I had loved from the very beginning and couldn’t stop thinking about. The minute I put it back on, I knew this was the dress I had to get married in. Luckily, the wonderful ladies at Vera Wang were able to make this happen for me under our very tight time constraints!

It’s funny, through the entire planning process I stressed about the tiniest things – would we get our café au lait dahlias for our centerpieces? Would our speeches stay on schedule? Would we get married inside or outside? At the end of the day, none of this stuff mattered. I was marrying the love of my life, surrounded by our absolute favourite people and nothing could bring me down. Not the storm that blew in right before our first look or when my dress ripped right before I was about to walk down the aisle. You can’t predict exactly how your wedding day will unfold, but with a little perspective, you will realize that it doesn’t really matter. I can safely say that our wedding day was absolutely, the best, most beautiful day of my life.

Woodland Animal Themed 1st Birthday Party

Having a birthday in the middle of winter doesn’t mean you can’t throw a bash that is whole-heartedly Spring. In fact, we encourage it. The warmth, the soft, pastel colors and the bevy of gold animals all make for the dreamiest of woodland themed birthdays – perfect for little miss Emerson Belle. Have a look at the full party captured by Feather + Light right here in the gallery.

From Feather + Light … When a little girl turns 1 in the middle of winter, she deserves a dreamy and enchanting birthday party. Emerson’s birthday was full of warmth. Her woodland animal theme was perfect for this wide-eyed, sweet baby girl. There were so many sweet touches – from the feather sugar cookies to the gold animals. And it’s impossible to forget the sweet feather crown. Her mother, Cate, a very dear friend, pulled together so many elements to make this party memorable. I truly enjoyed capturing the beautiful details.

Romantic Napa Valley Wedding

Do me a favor: take everything you know about Napa Valley weddings, add in an extra dose of romance and then top it off with some of the prettiest details you will ever lay your eyes upon.  The result?  This stunning affair captured beautifully by Glass Jar Photography.  Think elegant church ceremony meets one seriously gorgeous al fresco party.  Soak in every last moment in the world’s most amazing gallery.

From Glass Jar Photography… Sarah decided to marry her best friend in Napa Valley, CA around the hills of wine outside San Francisco. Her goal was a timeless wedding, classic and beautiful and I think she nailed it.

Starting the day at the gorgeous Pink Mansion then the two said their “I do’s” in a cute Spanish style church in the center of the valley, and hopped in an vintage car to exit and head over to an open wine field reception, with great food, tablescapes and decor and friends.

Romantic New Jersey Park Engagement Session

This love sesh from Judy Pak has just the right amount of sweetness and al fresco goodness rolled into one intimate gallery, and I can’t get enough. The Bride-to-be’s sparkly gem will have you gazing for hours and their sweet pup? Well, isn’t she just the cutest fluffy lady you ever did see? There’s more right here.

From the beautiful Bride… Our wedding is taking place this summer on a small island in the Mediterranean called Malta, in the 16th century Metropolitan Cathedral of St. Paul, Imdina. We knew from the start that we’ll be sending save the dates since most of our guests need to travel. The save the dates we wanted needed some really amazing photos and we thought if we are going to take the photos it might as well be our engagement season. The selection can get a bit overwhelming when you live in NYC but after looking at Judy’s blog we knew that she was the one for us. Her work just screams excellence and she definitely backs it up. Our e-session was simply breathtaking. This peaceful park in New Jersey was the perfect setting. An hour and a half session felt like 5 minutes. We felt very comfortable and Judy walked us through it very easily and made it fun. She was also very patient with our little dog, Havana.

Rustic Fall Wedding Crooked Willow Farms

I’m in love with this color palette and trying to find the words to best describe it. Elegant yet rustic, colorful, yet subtle, it is all that and more, with beautiful blues, greens, and creams, with pops of pink and orange. From the bouquets and bridesmaids, to the cutest trio of flower girls, Ashley Sawtelle couldn’t stop snapping these handsome hues – much to our luck – and you can see them all here.

From Ashley Sawtelle… Residing in NYC, Ben & Andrea (both lawyers) wanted to create an elegant wedding day on a sprawling venue out west. They combined their love for the Colorado landscape with their NYC style, which can be seen in the details that represent them as a couple.

Grays, ivory, succulent greens, and natural pops of color provided the color schematic, while romantic, rustic, and understated provided the feel. The mercury, hobnail, and clear glass floral and candle vases paired with the rustic wood floral boxes to create a balanced juxtaposition of styles.

Urban Rustic Wedding in Los Angeles

Intimate and easy-going, this duo wanted their day to feel like a special family gathering. Their grand vision? A day filled with long Petals & Pop garlands, personalized calligraphy a la the Bride herself, and homemade jam favors. Every detail was seamlessly snapped up by onelove photography, and it’s all waiting right here!

From The Bride… We are both very private and quite shy at times. We wanted our wedding to feel intimate and easy-going to minimize our stress and to make our special day feel like a special family gathering. What was most important to us was sharing that time with the people we cared about, eating good food, and dancing the night away.

We were so excited about the long garlands that Petals & Pop designed for the event — they kept our tables simple and beautiful. I also took a calligraphy class with Maybelle Imasa-Stukuls at Poketo and practiced on our invites during the months leading up. I could still use much more practice, but I felt very proud of the name cards and that personal touch.

It is easy to become a perfectionist as you are planning a wedding. We were very specific (a.k.a. picky) about many of the details we wanted, down to the way we covered our homemade jam favors. Many of the things we had planned did not come together the way we expected that day, but it did not matter. Come up with a grand vision, but don’t spend too much time sweating the details!

Sarah’s favorite memory: I have two. One was dancing with Adam right before the music turned off for the night. During the months leading up to the wedding, we played the Beach House song “I’ll Take Care Of You” over and over again in anticipation of it. It was so exciting when we finally got to dance to it as husband and wife. And of course, the flash mob dance we planned with our friends to “Take On Me” — I never thought we could actually do it!

Adam’s favorite memory: The whole ceremony. We kept it short, but sweet. We had been nervous about having to deliver our vows in front of everyone (neither of us being natural public speakers), but once we were up there it came so easily and both of us avoided bawling our eyes out. Seeing Sarah come down the aisle was a dream come true and the feeling immediately after the recessional was so exciting (mixed with a sense of relief that it had actually come together after all the planning).

Romantic and Colorful Bali Wedding

At the hands of Flying Bride, this colorful affair is complete with shades of blue and honeycomb. Complemented by the blossoming botanical arrangements, azulejos tiles transformed the palette through customized cushions, table runners, and even the wedding cake! Angga Permana captured every detail and it’s all waiting for you here!

Villa

From Flying Bride… Tintin is passionate about healthy living and eating. Together with Paul, they founded Cocofrio, a certified organic coconut milk ice cream. The range of flavour Cocofrio offers and its colorful packaging inspired me to use these colors as their wedding color palette. Hence blue, tan, brown, shades of mango and golden honeycomb were chosen as their wedding color palette.

In terms of decoration, since Paul’s favorite season is the Spring where there are blossoming flowers, green leaves, sunshine, and bright days, we combined various beautiful flowers and leaves arranged in a botanical arrangement. We also used glamorous candelabras, light bulbs and fairy lights to represent sunshine to brighten their wedding day.

The final touch we included into the wedding was Azulejos tiles (Portugal tiles), which Tintin loves. Transformed to the color palette of the wedding, its interesting pattern was shown in all the stationeries of the wedding including their customized cushions, table runners, and even on the wedding cake!

From Dana Cubbage Weddings… Whenever Intrigue Design + Events and Loluma team up together with a wedding design, I’m always left utterly speechless. Tracey + Colin’s gorgeous wedding was no exception. My jaw was literally on the floor all day long, photographing all of the amazing design elements of the day. Chelsye, Sha Sha and their respective teams bring so much creativity to the table. They are just so talented and a match made in heaven!

Tracey’s neutral french vanilla palette choice was the perfect anchor for the design, with intense pops of color brought in through the florals. Huge hanging baskets filled with greenery hung from inside the tent, while delicate string lighting created beautiful ambiance under the tent – especially once the sun went down. Rustic wooden cross-back chairs and the wine barrel bar provided the perfect amount of Southern charm, while the boxwood wall of mirrors adorned with table assignments brought in an element of old world glamour. DJ Nick of EPIC Charleston kept the dance floor packed all night – this was definitely a party crowd and I had a blast taking photos on the dance floor. At the end of the night, Tracey + Colin made their way through a tunnel of sparklers before hopping on a rickshaw together.

In a nod to Colin’s career as a chef and their shared love of food, the pair made sure to include lots of special food elements in their day – including a special pickle bar, special salt dishes on the tables, and a surprise visit from King of Pops!

From Isari Flower Studio + Event Design… Vista Valley Country Club was the perfect backdrop for this fun and innovative photo shoot designed and coordinated by White Lace Events & Design. Bringing together a true dream team of vendors the goal was to highlight upcoming trends for 2015 in an unconventional way. From a lace dessert teepee, to a dinner table in a more commonly used ceremony location, and a ceremony backdrop created of iron gates this shoot takes traditional wedding elements and adds an unexpected twist. Isari Flower Studio and Adore Folklore brought the scene to life with vibrant, lush florals and one of a kind furniture (did we mention the teepee and cake by Sweet Cheeks Baking Company!) that truly highlighted each unique detail from custom wooden cutting board placemats provided by Grace and Salt, mixed pattern and textured table settings and amazing lighting options! Lucky To Be In Love added the finishing touches to the table with garden inspired paper goods. With the bride and groom clad in Nicole Miller and Combat Gentleman, and hair and make-up by Audra Rene and Elizabeth Root the romantic scene was set! Our couple, so very much in love dressed in the magnificent bridal and groom changing rooms at Vista Valley – think fainting couch, elegant chandelier and grand mirror for her, and a stunning Italian inspired library for him. The day was completed with an adorable flower girl, wearing the most fantastic flower crown, bridesmaid, groomsman and officiant – a truly intimate experience any couple would dream about. All captured by the truly talented Shane and Lauren Photography, a simply magical day! Taking the vibrant garden, Parisian inspiration to a whole new level, this shoot plays with color, texture, romance and whimsy.

Pink & Gray Downtown Cincinnati Wedding

In my color palette book, pink + gray reign king. It’s the perfect combination of soft and sweet, and this Cincinnati bride brought that very vision to life. With the talents of Viva Bella Events by her side, she achieved a day that’s got “SMP” written all over it, and Clary Pfeiffer captured each and every bit. Head to the gallery and watch the entire shebang from Epic Motion below.

From Clary Pfeiffer… From day one, Kristen described her wedding vision as simple and elegant. A pearl among gemstones, she wanted a day inspired by classic beauty, foregoing flashy gimmicks for subtle, luxurious details. Kristen chose elements to compliment the nature of the day. Her love for Andrew, both sweet and mature in nature became a muse for the design of the wedding. Every detail exuded simple romance and fashionable sophistication.

The reception was held at The Center, in the heart of downtown Cincinnati. The room displayed large floor-to-ceiling windows at either end, giving the guests a taste of the city. Using the cityscape as a backdrop, Kristen’s vision took life in the matter of a few hours. The room was dressed in square tables with stone linens and large wooden farm tables with matching stone runners. The chairs put a twist on the traditional as gold chivari chairs sat before the square tables and ghost chairs sat at the wooden farm tables.

Emphasizing the warm tones in the grey linens and mimicking the gold chivari chairs, gold utensils and lined chargers sat at each place setting. Kristen chose a palette of pale pinks and champagnes tones to accent the stone neutrals. The flower arrangements, napkins, crystal votives, and the rose champagne poured in every guest’s glass gave the room a light and polished feel. Paired with the flickering of the votives, the ambiance created was truly romantic and undeniably lovely.

Kristen and Andrew’s first reaction to their reception was nothing but dazzling smiles. In awe of all their decisions coming together into one fantastic vision, the two were amazed and giddy in their post-ceremony excitement. This feeling spread through the room, as guests were welcomed in to the sounds of the Dan Rafferty band, brought in all the way from Detroit. As guests entered, they were greeted by the splendor of the overall décor, the simple three-tiered cake with charming pink flowers decorating the exterior, and of course the newly weds beaming with wedding pride.

It was definitely an infectious happiness that followed through each course of dinner and guests danced and celebrated with Andrew and Kristen as the sun set behind the city.

Classic New York City Wedding at The Plaza Hotel

It doesn’t get any more classic than a New York City black tie affair at The Plaza Hotel. It just doesn’t. And this stunner planned by Ang Weddings And Events has set that classic style bar even higher. Beautifully timeless and wonderfully elegant, every image captured by Judy Pak is nothing short of a dream, and you can see them all here.

From The Bride…Omar and I met in New York City and on our first date, we wound up talking for hours and we closed down the restaurant! We decided to get married at the Plaza and wanted our wedding to have a classic New York feel, but most importantly we wanted our guests to have a fun, warm, and intimate experience.

Ang Weddings and Events created a seamless event and selected the most talented vendors that were a dream to work with. It was so inspirational to work with so many phenomenal women that were truly experts in their fields. The invitations were classic letterpress and we incorporated an old photograph of The Plaza in the envelope liner. Omar found an elephant graphic which we used on the menus, escort cards and even printed on the sugar cookies which were our wedding favors. Verde Flowers created arrangements in shades of corals and creams interspersed with hundreds of candles to complement the gold tones of the Grand Ballroom and Terrace Room. Ron Ben Israel’s cake with matching flowers was breathtaking. Judy Pak captured our wedding so perfectly with a clean and romantic style that is truly timeless. McKenzie Miller’s videography was brilliant and we received a short clip of our wedding to watch while we were in South Africa on our honeymoon. The Plaza accommodated our every request and the entire team at the Plaza was comprised of the most consummate professionals. We had an interesting progression of music through the evening. A harp and flute duo from Elan Artists played classical music for the ceremony. An Indian trio consisting of a sitar, tabla and flute from Elan Artists played for the cocktail hour. Our DJ Play Something Good had the entire dance floor packed with their clever mix of 80s, 90s and top 40 music for the dinner reception.

Traditionally Elegant La Jolla Wedding

After seven years together this duo wanted their day under the sun and by the sea. The result? A relaxed coastal getaway at the hands of Esoteric Events complete with bouquets of lush Krista Jon blooms, ethereal Amsale gowns, and gorgeous sequined La Tavola linens. Set against the organic Garden Courtyard, Emily Blake captured a gallery illustrating the joy, right here!

From Esoteric EventsI can not say enough amazing things about Cayla and Tyler! I was absolutely honored to have been chosen to be by their side during the planning process and on the wedding day. The ceremony took place in the Garden Courtyard of the Estancia Hotel with all their family and friends in attendance and it was pure magic. Cayla looked breathtaking in her Nardos Imam gown accompanied by a bouquet of lush flowers and etherial hair. After the ceremony guests sipped on cocktails while listening to Israel Maldonaldo playing the spanish guitar. Guests then entered the reception at sunset and danced the night away to the PG Band under warm candlelight tones.

From the beautiful Bride… There were only a few prerequisites my husband and I noted as we first deliberated our nuptials a few days after the whirlwind of our engagement. His ideal wedding would be “small(ish), summer, feels like us.” Mine: “warm, and in California.” Growing up in SoCal, I could hardly consider any other place to get married than under the sun and by the sea. But having lived and fallen in love in Dallas, with a fiancé hailing from Kansas City, I hoped he would be as open to the idea of a wedding 1,500 miles away. Thankfully, all parties were keen on the idea of a summer getaway to the coast to say “I do,” and La Jolla ended up being the most beautiful destination to do so.

When it came down to venue for our ceremony and reception, we agreed it would be ideal to have both in the same location as the hotel where our guests could stay in order to create the “vacationing with friends” setting we had hoped for. After dating seven years, we were thrilled at the opportunity to unite all our friends and family from across the country who have supported us throughout our journey as a couple to celebrate altogether. Estancia La Jolla, nestled right up the hill from downtown La Jolla village, proved to be the perfect host to our gathering, providing both an incredible backdrop for the celebration and elegant accommodations for our guests.

Planning is something I’ve always loved to do for my friends – parties, showers, group gatherings—you name it, I love to flush out the details. But when it came to planning our own wedding, I was overjoyed to take a backseat (okay, maybe passenger seat!) and let Esoteric Events take the reins of our big day. Our vision was so easily translated that I felt completely assured the day would be just as casually glamorous as I had hoped: a juxtaposition of a lush, organic backdrop highlighting the natural beauty of California with luxurious hints of my favorite color: sparkles! I envisioned a backdrop of neutrals with touches of glitz and soft pops of color throughout, and Krista Jon for Archive helped to create the perfect culmination of the two within our floral arrangements. Our cocktail and reception areas were accented with gorgeous gold-sequined linens from La Tavola, and the mercury glass and candlelight pieces from Archive Rentals created a beautifully-lit reception. Each detail came together to create a relaxed and refined celebration that felt just “like us” (as per the groom’s requirements!). And it wouldn’t have been a party without the help of PG Band, who held helped keep the dance floor rockin’ well into the wee hours of the morning!

It’s hard to believe after a little over a year of planning our wedding has already come and gone, but we were so lucky to have our incredibly supportive group of loved ones surrounding us through the best weekend of our lives. We couldn’t be more thankful to the vendors and friends who helped create such magical memories. Thank you for sharing in our joy!

Surprise Wedding Film by Pen Weddings

As I sit surrounded by wedding to-do lists, a fully planned surprise celebration kind of sounds like heaven. These two had put planning on hold – unable to find a date that worked for all. So the Bride’s mom, along with Poppy Lane Design and Gibson Events, took over and Ely Fair Photography snapped away. Pen Weddings captured every surprise squeal and kiss, and this film will make a romantic out of anyone – guaranteed.

From Pen Weddings… The story is what makes this film and photo submission so special. Sami and Joe were trying to plan a small, family wedding… but even that was proving to be difficult since they couldn’t find a date when all of their immediate family could attend. They put planning “on hold”… but when an opportunity presented itself, Sami’s mom Susan had the idea to plan the wedding and surprise Sami with it. She made sure Joe was in agreement, and along with the help of family, planner Lindsay Gibson, and other wedding pros, they pulled off an unforgettable event.
