Subtle Nods to Autumn Done Right at Silver Oaks Chateau

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Maroon, shades of red, olive green, hint of navy[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The couple really wanted their wedding day to feel like their own personal style but something that would also be timeless. It was important for the overall design to compliment Fall colors in Missouri, which is their favorite season! The day itself included many personal touches and had a fun, intimate vibe![/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]From Janie: He proposed at the summit of Mount Pierce in the White Mountains in NH. We are working on completing all 48 peaks over 4k ft in elevation and this was stop #8 in that journey. The mountains were covered in snow and the weather was absolutely perfect. We got married in STL where the I (the bride) was born and raised but my husband and I are building a family in New England so it is perfect that the proposal was rooted in the life we have here and one of our favorite things to do together, hiking! After we came down from the summit, we facetimed our families to tell them the big news and then had dinner at our favorite special occasion restaurant where we go every time we have something to celebrate.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]The wedding gown was Alyssa Kristin – Vivian from Madeline’s Daughter in Portsmouth, NH. Janie made sure the gown captured the timeless vibe she was going for. [/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]I loved the way the olive green complemented the fall colors but I wanted my bridesmaids/bridesman to feel their best too so I let them choose any dress/fabric type as long as it was a floor-length dress in the olive green fabric color. I love that the difference in fabrics added subtle color differences without there being too many colors/contrast on an already colorful backdrop. We used Revelry to make it easy given my wedding party is dispersed all over the US and it worked perfectly – all of my favorite people looked absolutely stunning![/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Ces and Judy’s provided the catering. In keeping with the Fall season, the dinner included a harvest salad, lemon sage chicken, mustard glazed pork loin, honey balsamic brussel sprouts, and a carrot souffle (a Ces and Judy’s staple!). From Janie: We adore our cats, Poppy & Rocket, so we incorporated them both in the signature cocktail drink name and in the drink stirrers served in those drinks. Friends from our wedding still have these at home to this day :)[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Flowers were designed by Serendipity Floral Design. Janie wanted the emphasis to be on deep reds and maroon to compliment the Fall colors. Her bouquet included so much texture with use of king proteas, agonis, magic roses, dahlias, and eucalyptus. White anemones and roses were added to the centerpieces for the perfect contrast while still keeping with the romantic vibe.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Cake was from Sarah’s Cake Shop. In keeping with the classic vibe, Janie and Andrew kept the traditional white cake with white buttercream and added pearls for added texture and shine. Serendipity added maroon flowers to the base for the perfect pop of color.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]One of my husband’s (and now my) best friends officiated our wedding – it made such a big moment even better having someone we love marry us.
The bride and her dad did a custom choreographed father/daughter dance – it was a surprise to all and an absolute hit! The perfect way to open the dance floor up to our guests
We shared a last dance out on the patio after all of our guests had left. It was acoustically performed by our DJ and it is still a favorite memory from that evening to this day. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]We rented out part of a winery in MO the day after the wedding so we could spend more time with those we love who had traveled near and far to celebrate with us – it was the most perfect ending to the best weekend.[/field]

A Bridgerton-Inspired Elegant Wedding at Villa Sola Cabiati on Lake Como

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]We selected a palette of French blue, soft pink, and elegant gold for our colors.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]We chose to celebrate our wedding in the enchanting Lake Como, Italy—the most romantic destination in the world. As high school sweethearts with over 16 years together, we wanted our wedding to be one for the history books. For our special day, we selected the timeless elegance of Villa Sola Cabiati, paired with the grandeur of the Grand Hotel Tremezzo for our welcome party. Our vision was to create a wedding reminiscent of a royal Bridgerton affair—romantic, joyful, and filled with charm.
[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]My husband designed an art exhibit inspired by Yayoi Kusama’s infinity mirror room, transforming it into a stunning installation adorned with mason jars. Each jar holds a cherished memory we’ve shared over our 165 months together, culminating in a total of 165 jars, plus one special jar containing a ring, which he used to ask me to make a lifetime full of memories with him.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]For our welcome party, we hosted it in the beautiful gardens of the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, which also catered the delicious food. Guests enjoyed a delightful spread featuring a variety of pizzas, cheese bites, octopus salad, pesto pasta, seared tuna in lemongrass sauce, and chicken filets cooked over an open flame by a skilled chef. A bar served an array of cocktails and mocktails, with a special emphasis on the classic Italian Aperol Spritz.

SunLake Catering provided the exquisite menu for our wedding. For the starter, we had perfectly seared scallops paired with creamy buffalo mozzarella, fresh confit tomatoes, and a roasted aubergine and basil cream. The first course featured homemade tagliolini—fresh egg pasta tossed with butter and sage, served over a rich Parmigiano Reggiano cream with summer truffle. The second course offered a choice of sea bass cooked in Prosecco with aromatic Mediterranean herbs and mixed baby vegetables on creamed potatoes, or a beef fillet accompanied by a luxurious milk and truffle cream, duck foie gras mousse, and thyme-infused potatoes. To top it all off, our dessert spread included an assortment of classic Italian sweets and a delightful gelato cart.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]For the welcome party, the décor struck a perfect balance between classic elegance and playful charm, featuring a vibrant palette of white, orange, and green. Our goal was to create a chic yet lively atmosphere that captured the essence of quintessential Italian flair. We showcased large white roses against a lush green backdrop, enhanced by the brightness of lemons and pops of orange in both the drinks and straws.

For the wedding, the décor was elevated and lavish, yet fresh. Lush pink florals, accented with hints of yellow, beautifully complemented the table settings and the bridesmaids’ pastel blue dresses. Golden accents added a touch of elegance, seamlessly tying in with the antique-classic charm of the venue.
[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]We had a 3-tier cake, with flavors of chantilly cream with strawberries and pistachio cream. It had decorations of fresh flowers.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Marco, a charismatic Italian with a rich accent, officiated our ceremony against the breathtaking backdrop of the lake. We included a poignant reading of “Blessing for a Marriage” by James Dillet Freeman, which set a heartfelt tone for the occasion. As we exchanged our vows, we joyfully declared our “I dos” in Italian, adding a touch of romance and authenticity to the moment.
I made my entrance to Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years,” elegantly performed by Italy string quartet, creating a magical atmosphere. For our first dance, we shared a tender moment to Calum Scott’s “You Are the Reason,” enveloped in the love and warmth of our gathered friends and family.[/field]

guests experienced a meticulously curated culinary journey, where each
course was artfully presented and thoughtfully paired with
complimentary wines. This emphasized both the aesthetics and the
flavors of the meal, allowing guests to savor each bite in a setting of
sophistication and grace.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Keeping things intentional and interesting, Shelby &
Drew incorporated calla lilies and hydrangeas throughout their day,
which were seen in a variety of arrangements, such as billowing bar
florals and chic pin frog runners. Aligning with the vision of the day, their
flowers were arranged in tones of white & blue throughout.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Wanting to lean into the summer energy, Shelby &
Drew opted for a cake infused with all the good fruit flavors! Their
sweetheart cake was lemon flavored, courtesy of Baked Dessert in
Berlin, MD, and had a raspberry coulis filling and lemon buttercream
frosting.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”][/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Amongst a day crafted to reflect not only their vision
but their personalities, one of the most special details was the venue
itself. With Drew having popped the question nearly two years prior right
there at Bayside, they wanted to celebrate in the same place that their
next step began. Having met back in 2017 (and Shelby almost
canceling on the first date!), they’ve found themselves growing together
to overcome long distance, job changes, and personal adversity. After
moving in together in Pittsburgh, they’ve been steadily building the life
together that they’ve always wanted – including purchasing a home and
adding Parker, their favorite furball, to the mix. By gathering all their
friends & family in a place that holds such a special meaning, Shelby &
Drew’s elegant summer wedding was not only a celebration of their
future together, but also of the people and places that shaped them
every step of the way.[/field]

An Enchanting Tuscan Wedding at Villa Cora

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]The colors palette was the following based on the Pantone: living coral, autum sunset, coral, pink lemonade, strawberries cream[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

From the bride: As avid adventurers and lovers of new experiences, the couple knew a destination wedding would be the perfect way to celebrate their love. Italy has always held a special place in their hearts, and while they often returned to its beautiful landscapes, Tuscany was a region they had yet to fully explore. After meeting with The Tuscan Wedding, whose professionalism and honesty immediately stood out, they knew Tuscany was where their wedding dreams would come to life. This stunning region, guided by such capable hands, provided the ideal backdrop for both them and their guests to share in a truly unforgettable experience. Choosing the Perfect Venue The couple chose Villa Cora for its charm, rich history, and prime location in a quiet, lush area of Florence, situated on the hills just outside the historic center. This made it the perfect venue for their three-day celebration, allowing them to host all the events at the villa. A Welcome to Remember For the welcome party, the bride wore a couture dress by Lein Studio, complemented by an heirloom pearl necklace as her “something old.” Each guest was greeted with a thoughtfully curated welcome gift bag, complete with hand-painted tambourines featuring their names, designed by Tuscan Lab to bring giggles and sounds to the party. This added a personal touch that made everyone feel cherished from the moment they arrived. The theme of “La Dolce Vita” in blue and yellow was reflected in the stationery and setup. The festivities began with a lively pizza party featuring a feast of Italian culinary delights, serving as the perfect icebreaker and setting the tone for the next two days of celebration. Guests enjoyed live music performed by the fantastic trio, The Kickers. After dinner, spirits were high as guests gathered in the serene Sfingi Garden at Villa Cora, illuminated by café lights, where they indulged in gelato from a cart and enjoyed a captivating cooking show by Miss 500. A Dream Wedding Day For the wedding day, the couple drew inspiration from the ceiling frescoes and artwork in the Mirror Room at Villa Cora. Mint green became the base color for most of their stationery, chosen to contrast with the villa’s Baroque architecture. For the floral design, they selected a soft pastel color palette, ensuring that the intricate and magical interior of the villa remained the focal point. Roses played a significant role in the setting, as Villa Cora is renowned for its rose garden, which boasts over 100 species of roses. Their talented florist, Flowersliving, executed this vision perfectly, creating a harmonious blend of elegance and subtlety. The couple exchanged their vows before their closest family and friends in the enchanting setting created for them. The groom wore his ancestral heirloom wedding band during the ceremony, adding a deeply personal touch to the moment. The reception followed in the Mirror Room, acclaimed as Florence’s most beautiful ballroom, where imperial tables adorned with the same floral arrangements and softer shades in crystal chandelier candleholders enhanced the romantic ambiance. Guests were serenaded by the talented violinists of QART before dinner, who matched their outfits so well with the ballroom that they seemed like statues come to life. A Cake to Remember For the cake, the bride shared a picture of her dress with the cake designer, Sugarcups Cake Design, asking her to draw inspiration from the lace and intricate details of her Berta gown. The result was a stunning cake that beautifully mirrored the elegance of the dress. Not only was it a work of art, but it was also a delicious delight. A Sparkling Finale During the cake cutting, the couple surprised their guests with a breathtaking pyrotechnic fireworks display set to some of their favorite soundtracks. It was an unexpected treat, especially since fireworks shows are not typically part of weddings in the U.S. The celebration ended on a high note with an after-party in the Pasha Cellar at Villa Cora, featuring an electrifying light show and a dynamic electric violin performance by QART that ensured the festivities continued well into the night. The bride changed into a playful, sparkly mini dress by Clio Peppiatt for the after-party. A Memorable Farewell The celebration concluded with a farewell brunch in the villa’s beautiful Moresque Hall, featuring Oriental design, followed by a trip to the rooftop terrace of Villa Cora to capture the breathtaking panoramic views of Florence one last time. Hosting all the events at the villa allowed the couple and their guests to explore and enjoy all its rooms and secret spots, creating a unique atmosphere for each gathering. Even though they were in the same location with the same people, each event had its own distinct vibe.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]The aperitif unfolded in the Italian Garden. The Sax and the Dj by Qart serenaded the guests, and as they sipped their drinks, they were immersed in pure bliss. The culinary selection offered various delectable options that delighted the senses.

The reception continued in an absolutely jaw-dropping space within Villa Cora known as the Sala degli Specchi, a room that would not have been out of place in the palace of Versailles with its antique gold decorative friezes inlaid throughout the room containing classic frescoes, stunning golden candelabra and Carrara marble antique furniture surrounding the long, sumptuously decorated tables.

The menu was a journey through a world of exquisite flavors, a reflection of the couple’s diverse tastes and shared culinary adventures. Every course was not just a delight for the taste buds but a testament to their journey together.

Entrée:

Eggplants millefoglie, buffalo mozzarella cheese with tomato coulis and basil.

First Courses:

Ricotta cheese and spinach gnudi on a pepper cream and pecorino cheese fondue.
Yellow tomato risotto with olive crumble and lemon mayo.

Main Course:

Braised veal cheek, glazed vegetables mélange, thyme mayo and potatoes gratin.
For the vegetarians: miso lacquered cauliflower, onion stew with dill mayo and sea lettuce

Dessert:
Chocolate Mousse with Caramel sauce and Chantilly

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Rehearsal dinner:
The decorations of the table with white and blue pots together with yellow flowers – sunflowers, roses, ranunculus – and orange fruits and lemons scatered around let the guests feel the real Italian vibes.

Wedding Day:
The ceremony took place in the Sfingi Garden, where the air was filled with the enchanting melodies of the String Quartet by QArt. Flowers Living transformed the area into a fairy tale wonderland. The aisle was lovingly decorated with ten grounded florals filled with an array of vibrant spring flowers – roses, delphinium, dahlias and hydrangeas and a touch of greenery- all expertly arranged by Flowers Living, a trusted vendor from The Tuscan Wedding. This symbolic ceremony was the start of their beautiful journey as a married couple: the ring style arch was there to symbolize their endless love.
The bride walked down the aisle escorted by the parents and holding a bouquet of roses, spray roses, garden roses in different shades of pink.

During the wedding reception in the Sala degli Specchi, peach candles burned in crystal candle holders amongst abundant flower arrangements serving as table centers, crystal glasses and gold utensils sparkling in the candlelight.
[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The wedding cake, a grand four-tier creation by the pastry chef Sugarcups, stood as the centerpiece in the Italian Garden. Guests were invited to step outside for the cake-cutting moment, accompanied by a dazzling fireworks show. The cake, like a dream in white and pink, was a masterpiece in itself, a reflection of their sweet love. Every bite of the cake was a sweet reminder of their journey, not just as a couple, but as a group of cherished friends and family who had witnessed their love story.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]The bride walked down the aisle escorted by her parents while the Best Version of Jesus, Joy of Man’s Desiring by Bach was played by the talented String Quartet by Qart.[/field]

Garden Florals, Custom Fashion and Three Bespoke Cakes at The Boathouse in Central Park

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]The wedding colors focused on soft, natural tones that complemented the garden-party ambiance of the day. The palette featured greens, nudes, blushes, and whites, creating a cohesive, romantic look that flowed through every detail—from the guests’ attire to the invites, signage, and even the wedding cake. These colors harmonized beautifully with the lush, natural setting of The Prospect Park Boathouse and enhanced the intimate, elegant atmosphere of the celebration.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The wedding was designed to be an intimate, romantic celebration inspired by the charm and elegance of The Prospect Park Boathouse , with nods to New Orleans, a city dear to the couple. With only 32 guests, the vibe was cozy yet sophisticated, blending a “garden party” theme with a storyline that celebrated both nature and modern elegance. Every detail, from custom invites to unique floral installations and thoughtful rentals, was chosen to enhance the cohesive, organic aesthetic and guest experience. Soft lighting, lush greenery, and delicate blooms created an enchanting, picturesque setting that felt personal and timeless.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]The couple met through friends in college back in 2015 and have been together ever since. Originally Oliver wanted to surprise Nick with a destination proposal, that plan came to a halt with Covid given Nick’s profession as an ICU nurse. Fast forward to 2022 where they went to San Francisco to visit some friends. Part of the trip was spent in the beautiful Ritz Carlton Resort in Half Moon Bay. The couple went down to the private beach below the resort where Oliver proposed. “It was so beautiful and intimate and everything we’d wanted”, say the grooms.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Oliver: “Nick and I have very different personal styles but wanted both of them to be represented during our big day. Nick is more casual and classic, whereas I prefer bold colors and textures. We enlisted the help of the 2022 American Menswear Designer of the Year and local New York studio, Bode. Luis and the team at the Bode Tailor Shop allowed us to completely customize our look based on our personal styles, and made sure it was unique to us as a couple. Nick wore an off-white dinner jacket, tuxedo shirt, with dark green pants. I had a dark green double breasted suit (same green as Nick’s pants) with a tuxedo shirt, my jacket had flower jewel embellishments all over which were absolutely stunning. All pieces were custom and were complemented by Christian Louboutin shoes, and Cartier jeweler and rings.”[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Even though the couple didn’t have a bridal party, all guests were asked to wear floor-lengths greens, nudes, blushes, whites. These colors were incorporated in the invites, save the date, and day of details (including the cakes).[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]The food and drink selections were crafted to be memorable, personal, and fun for guests. Leaning into the Cinco de Mayo date, the couple welcomed guests to the reception with festive “welcome shots” to set a lively tone. For the reception, the menu featured thoughtfully curated dishes that complemented the garden-party atmosphere. A highlight was the trio of cakes from local Brooklyn bakers, each uniquely crafted and eagerly anticipated by the couple and guests alike. The food and drink choices brought warmth and personality to the celebration, blending elegance with a relaxed, celebratory vibe.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Oliver: “Floral was a big part of our wedding and reception. Given our theme, we wanted to find a florist that understood our vision, and surprisingly, that wasn’t easy. For our ceremony, we wanted a big and lush floral arch to add live to our setting but also enhance the nature elements surrounding our venue. Stems Brooklyn blew this out of the water defying notions in the floral industry, and creating a completely foam-free arch and design.  Layered with lacy hydrangeas and hundreds of David Austin roses for a romantic, spectacular finish. For our reception, we really leaned into the “garden party” theme and designed this delicate growing garden down the center of the tables. Spring tulips, ranunculus, garden roses, candles, and sweet pea burst forth to give a new meaning to “garden party”.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The wedding featured three distinct cakes from local Brooklyn bakers, each bringing its own unique flavor and style to the celebration. The cakes were a much-anticipated part of the day, showcasing the couple’s love for local artistry and fine dessert. Each cake was designed to reflect both the couple’s taste and the overall romantic, garden-party theme of the wedding. Their choice to include multiple cakes added a fun and personal touch to the reception, giving guests a variety of delicious flavors to enjoy and making this sweet element of the day especially memorable.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Oliver: “Najah Moeser is a musician I heard preforming at a client meeting in the city and Nick and I absolutely fell in love with her vocals. We had her locked in the next day for our wedding, and was a hit with every one of our guests. We even remember hearing her playing as the guests were arriving and we were getting ready upstairs, brought us chills.”[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Created by Andi Mejia Co., the invites featured custom details that echoed the aesthetic of the venue, with elements like translucent windows inspired by the venue’s iconic doors. This cohesive design extended to all printed materials, including menus, signage, and name cards, each piece blending seamlessly with the color palette and garden-inspired theme.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Oliver: “The most special moment was having and seeing our French Bulldogs (Preston and Theodore) be part of our Ceremony – brought us both to tears when we saw them, and will be a core memory we have for life.”[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]The three custom wedding cakes. As the grooms say, “The most anticipated moment was our three cakes from local bakers in Brooklyn, and the anticipation paid off as all of them were delicious.”[/field]

An Impressionist Wedding in Maui Inspired by Nature’s Canvas

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Drawing inspiration from the bride’s artistic background, the color palette was thoughtfully curated to reflect her sophisticated aesthetic. Soft, ethereal hues of pale pink, baby blue, and lavender created a dreamy foundation, while touches of peach, pale yellow, and mauve added depth and dimension to the design. The delicate pastel palette brought an artistic sensibility to the celebration, perfectly capturing the romantic and elegant atmosphere the couple envisioned for their special day.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The wedding design drew masterful inspiration from 19th century French Impressionist works, particularly the seascapes and garden paintings of Monet and Renoir. Working closely with the bride, the design team thoughtfully crafted a setting that celebrated her extensive background in arts and literature. The reception space was transformed into an elevated interpretation of an artist’s studio, where every detail honored the bride’s artistic journey.
Throughout the celebration space, the ethereal quality of Impressionist paintings came to life. The characteristic loose brushstrokes and dreamy pastel hues of the movement were elegantly interpreted through carefully selected floral arrangements, textiles, and decor elements. Each design choice was purposefully made to create an immersive experience that married the bride’s refined artistic sensibilities with the romantic atmosphere of a French garden painting.
The overall design narrative seamlessly merged the romantic pastel palette with artistic touches that felt both elevated and deeply personal. Vintage art books, elegant calligraphy, and carefully selected art prints added layers of sophistication while staying true to the bride’s passion for literature and fine arts.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Stan’s proposal to Christine unfolded like a romantic film at Santa Monica Pier during a breathtaking spring sunset. As golden light painted the sky, he found the perfect moment to ask the question that would change their lives forever. What made their engagement unique was its unexpected timing – neither had planned for an immediate proposal, but life’s subtle nudges revealed the perfect moment.
When Stan finally presented the ring against the backdrop of the California coastline, Christine’s resounding ‘yes’ felt like a natural culmination of their love story. As Stan described it, it was a moment where the world seemed to stand perfectly still.[/field]

Hand-sewn 3D floral appliques cascaded from the bodice, creating an ethereal effect of delicate vines seemingly entwined with her skin.
The gown’s architectural silhouette featured layers of translucent tulle that added volume and lightness, while the deep neckline and fitted bodice elegantly accentuated her figure. Custom off-shoulder sleeves, inspired by Son Ye-jin’s iconic wedding look, added a personal touch of refined femininity. Her cathedral veil, adorned with matching floral appliques, extended the gown’s ethereal narrative, leaving a trail of botanical sparkle with each step down the aisle.[/field]

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]The culinary experience was thoughtfully designed to honor both the couple’s sophisticated palates and their chosen island setting. The Andaz team masterfully executed a menu that married contemporary techniques with Hawaii’s rich culinary heritage, creating an unforgettable journey for their guests.
During cocktail hour, the live station became an instant highlight, featuring golden-crusted crab cakes fresh from local waters, elevated by a house-made caramelized pineapple vinaigrette that captured the essence of tropical sophistication. The carefully curated selection of passed hors d’oeuvres told the story of the couple’s refined tastes – from the bride’s favorite Red Grape Boulettes delicately wrapped in Big Island Goat Cheese and Macadamia Nut flakes, to the groom’s choice of Mochiko Fried Citrus-Ginger Short Rib. Each bite, including the Beet-Cured Kampachi and luxurious Foie Gras Torchon on Brioche, was thoughtfully crafted to showcase the island’s finest ingredients.
The signature cocktails became artistic expressions of the couple’s personalities. The bride’s Wailea Bramble, a romantic blend of Tito’s Vodka, Crème de Mure, fresh lemon, and pineapple juice, was served in custom Amalfi crystal glasses and garnished with delicate orchid blooms. Complementing this was the groom’s elevated take on a classic – the Blue Hawaiian, an artfully crafted combination of White Rum, Blue Curaçao, coconut, lemon, and pineapple, presented in striking stemmed goblets with fresh pineapple garnish. Each drink not only reflected their personal styles but also added to the evening’s sophisticated color palette.
[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The floral and décor design masterfully brought to life the wedding’s artistic vision, drawing inspiration from 19th-century French Impressionist works while honoring the deeply personal connection to art that runs through the bride’s family. Lush, garden-style floral arrangements created an ethereal atmosphere that perfectly embodied the loose, dreamy brushstrokes characteristic of Monet and Renoir’s masterpieces.
The welcome area emerged as an artistic focal point, transforming into a charming artist’s studio complete with easels, oil paintings, and authentic art tools. At its heart stood a remarkable interactive installation – a ceremony backdrop painting created by the bride’s father, where guests were invited to contribute their own brushstrokes, crafting a meaningful collaborative artwork that would become a cherished family heirloom.
In the reception space, blue Provence linens lay beneath carefully curated tablescapes featuring gold tableware and ambient bamboo lanterns. Each place setting told its own story through delicate handmade paper menus embossed in gold and die-cut place cards adorned with light pink bows. White cabanas draped in flowing fabrics and adorned with cascading florals created intimate gathering spaces throughout the venue.
A particularly touching detail threaded throughout the celebration was the ballet and ribbon bow-tie motif, elegantly paying homage to the bride’s decade-long ballet career. This refined design element appeared consistently across the wedding’s custom stationery, logo designs, and even the thoughtfully crafted guest favor tote bags.
Perhaps the most personal touch came in the form of miniature paintings created by the bride’s younger brother, each depicting a city holding special significance in the couple’s journey – from Taipei to Berlin, Oxford to New York. These intimate artworks, displayed on petite easels, served both as place cards and cherished keepsake coasters for guests to take home.
The natural beauty of Wailea, Maui, provided what could only be described as the perfect Impressionist backdrop, its soft light and sweeping vistas enhancing the ethereal atmosphere of the celebration. Each thoughtfully curated element worked in harmony to create an environment where guests could fully immerse themselves in the artistry of the moment, connecting with both the couple’s story and the breathtaking surroundings.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The dessert presentation served as a magnificent finale to the evening’s culinary journey, showcasing the exceptional talents of Andaz’s pastry team. The elaborate dessert station featured an array of French-inspired confections, each thoughtfully displayed on carefully curated serving pieces that echoed the wedding’s artistic theme.
Jewel-like Hawaiian-inspired truffles sparkled alongside colorful Coconut Panna Cotta topped with fresh island fruits. Rich Chocolate Flourless Almond Cake and delicate dulce Caramel Cream Puffs added layers of sophisticated indulgence to the carefully curated selection. Custom lace table linens provided an elegant foundation for the display, perfectly complementing the French garden atmosphere.
The wedding cake stood as an artistic centerpiece – an ethereal creation of vanilla and white chocolate buttercream adorned with cascading fresh flowers that seemed to have stepped straight from a Monet canvas. Inside, layers of Lemon Custard, Passion Fruit, and Mascarpone mousse with berries created a harmonious blend of tropical and classical flavors, offering guests a taste that was both refined and memorable.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”][/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]A truly unique element of the celebration was the ceremony backdrop – an exquisite oil painting crafted by the bride’s father. This masterpiece transformed into an interactive installation, where guests were invited to contribute their own brushstrokes throughout the evening. The collaborative artwork evolved organically as the celebration progressed, capturing not only the artistic spirit of the wedding but also the cherished memories and well-wishes of loved ones. This meaningful piece, bridging three generations of artistic expression, now stands as a treasured family heirloom that tells the story of their special day.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Among the many personal touches throughout the celebration, the place cards stood as miniature works of art in their own right. Each one, lovingly handcrafted by the bride’s younger brother, featured delicate paintings of cities that wove together the couple’s journey with their guests’ stories – from the academic spires of Oxford to the bustling streets of New York, the historic charm of Berlin to the vibrant energy of Taipei.
These intimate watercolor vignettes, displayed on petite easels at each place setting, served dual purposes – guiding guests to their seats while offering them a lasting memento of shared adventures. Cities like Kaohsiung, Tokyo, Ithaca, and San Francisco were immortalized in paint, each tiny masterpiece representing a chapter in the couple’s global love story and their cherished relationships with guests.[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]The caterer was a local legend, retired chef who served at many beloved local restaurants through the years. She prepared a family style dinner to be served to each table, featuring the bride and groom’s favorite dishes. With dishes like lobster mac and cheese and assorted artisan bread, to the chef’s famous duck salad, there was a palpable excitement from the guests as each dish was delivered to their table. Upon arriving, guests were welcomed at the top of the entry stairwell by wait staff offering champagne in crystal coupes adorned with a pistachio bow, served on a silver platter. How’s that for something to sip on during cocktail hour?[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The floral design for Alexandra and David’s day was truly jaw-dropping. Natural elements were mixed with lush blooms and created a garden-inspired dream that wowed every guest who walked through the door. One installation in particular featured wild riverbank grapevine, crafted into an oversized structure that was placed on the kitchen island. It dripped with greenery and flowers, and was truly a work of art in its own right. Each centerpiece was crafted with such intention, and no two were alike. They were elevated and colorful, each placed in containers that belonged to the bride’s family, including handmade pottery and handblown glass. [/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The bride always knew she wanted a traditional Italian wedding cake on her special day. The fresh strawberry cake with vanilla buttercream was a one tier, oversized square embellished with refreshing berries. At the end of dinner, plates were cleared and cake was passed on the signature china to each guest before it was time to head to the dance floor.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”][/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]All the intentionality that comes with a wedding at the home of the bride’s parents was simply the first layer of incredibly special details. So many ingredients created the atmosphere that was brought to life. Her grandmother’s vintage China and her mother’s Limoges boxes from her bedside table were used as ornamentation for the flat lay. Special vases that belonged to the family served as containers for the show stopping florals featured across the property. Something borrowed was her mother’s diamond tennis bracelet, and for something new – the earrings gifted to her that day by her groom. She stayed true to her childhood dream of wearing Manolo Blahnik heels on her wedding day.[/field]

A Breath of Fresh Spring Air at This Ocean Course Wedding on Kiawah

[section title=”The Planning”]

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The setting is anchored by a graceful sailcloth tent, which allows sunlight to filter through, creating a soft, romantic atmosphere. The floral escort table is a showstopper, brimming with seasonal white flowers and greenery, serving as both a functional element and a stunning piece of decor. Rattan lighting accents, suspended from the tent’s ceiling, cast a gentle glow, adding warmth and a touch of bohemian elegance to the space.

Hints of yellow in the patterned plates add a cheerful pop of color, perfectly complemented by custom green bird linens that bring a playful, whimsical touch. The overall vibe is one of relaxed sophistication, where natural elements meet thoughtful, curated details, creating a serene and inviting ambiance that celebrates the beauty of the season.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Kiawah Island has been our annual escape since 2020. In 2022, during a vacation with friends, Zack suggested him and I go on a pre-dinner sunset stroll by the Ocean Course. The previous night’s storm had left the path to the beach a mess. As we walked down to the shore, I noticed a photographer taking pictures of the scenery. Initially, I dismissed him as a casual bystander, but little did I know he was part of Zack’s proposal plan. As we walked past him he asked, “Are you John and Kelly?” – a code name Zack and him had secretly arranged. Zack said “no” and continued toward the water, only to turn and drop to one knee, completely surprising me.

Even after 8 years together Zack was a great actor, maintaining his composure throughout the trip so that I would have no idea of this plan. The stormy weather actually worked in his favor because it distracted me from any potential signs of nervousness. Kiawah has always held a special place in our hearts, so it was the perfect setting for this momentous occasion. After our private moment watching the sunset, our closest friends and family surprised us back at the hotel – it was a weekend filled with celebration, love, and unforgettable memories. And so, our Kiawah love story continued, culminating in our wedding at the very spot where he proposed after 10 years together. Our friends now jokingly refer to us as “John and Kelly,” – a humorous reminder of that day.[/field]

Guests are treated to a coastal feast beneath a canopy of stars, with the sound of waves gently lapping nearby. The tables are dressed in soft linens that echo the hues of the surrounding sand and sea, with centerpieces featuring local flora and subtle nautical touches. As the sun sets, the warm, golden light transforms the scene, casting a romantic glow over the gathering. To begin the evening, Aperol Spritzes are passed as a specialty cocktail, adding a vibrant, refreshing touch that perfectly complements the coastal ambiance. Two specialty cocktails, each named after the couple’s beloved dogs, add a personal touch: an Aperol Spritz, light and refreshing, and a rich, classic Old Fashioned. These signature drinks are a charming nod to the couple’s life together, delighting guests with both their flavors and the story behind them. [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]White flowers paired with seasonal greens and rattan accents offer a perfect blend of sophistication. The purity of white blooms, such as garden roses, and peonies, creates a timeless look, while the addition of lush greenery adds a fresh, organic feel that captures the essence of the season. Rattan elements, used as decorative accents in centerpieces, bring a touch of earthy texture, enhancing the overall aesthetic with an Italian flair.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The buttercream wedding cake was delightful in both taste and design, embodying timeless elegance with its intricate details. The smooth buttercream icing serves as a canvas for delicate lace imprinting, which adds a touch of vintage charm and sophistication. Each tier is adorned with this subtle lace pattern, creating a soft, textured effect that is both refined and romantic. Accentuating the lace are 3D florettes, carefully piped in buttercream to resemble blooming flowers. These florettes cascade down the cake, adding depth and a natural, organic feel to the design. The combination of lace and florals results in a cake that is not only a visual delight but also a fitting centerpiece for a wedding, blending tradition with artistic flair.[/field]

Every detail was chosen to balance elegance with a personal, warm, and inviting feel, encouraging guests to relax, enjoy, and feel the couple’s gratitude. Guests enjoyed riverside views while the beautifully presented food became the centerpiece of cocktail hour, blending visual sophistication with the warmth of Michelle and Brant’s hospitality.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]After Michelle and Brant’s first dance, they shared a moment to celebrate their new blended family. Each took turns dancing with Michelle’s son and daughter to From the Ground Up by Dan and Shay, a gesture that reflected their commitment to creating a strong family foundation. It was a meaningful moment that left a lasting impression on every guest.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Their wedding day was also Brant’s birthday which added another layer of celebration to the day! Michelle had a special cake made for him and everyone sang after dinner![/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]My favorite moment of the evening was when Michelle’s son, Wilkie, joined the band during cocktail hour. Wilkie takes drum lessons with Tyler Dempsy, and seeing him step up to play for everyone was truly special. With all eyes on him, Wilkie brought such a personal and joyful element to the evening![/field]

A Modern Lakeside Spring Reception at Milwaukee Art Museum

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Soft pastel tones, with various textures in shades of green, blues, and pinks.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]When a couple gets married in spring, and their first vendor booked is the florist, you know it’s going to be one gorgeous day of blooms! Their wedding day was filled with modern, romantic, spring-inspired details. Candlelit tables, soft and elegant banquette seating, and abounding spring florals set the tone for the celebration. Michaela’s 14 bridesmaids brought the colors of spring to life, dressed in various textures and pastels, setting the tone for the florist’s palette and design. Texture was played with in both the dresses and the reception space to help balance the modern Art Museum, creating a picture-perfect scene for their special day. Michaela’s gown also had a floral textured skirt to enhance the spring theme. and to top it off, the apple trees surrounding the venue were perfectly in the height of their bloom, which gave extra beauty for guests to take in as they sipped cocktails on an already stunning lake view on the patio. Michaela and Andrew’s wedding day was a reflection of their journey together—a day filled with love, laughter, tradition, and unforgettable new moments shared with family and friends in the city they love.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]From the Bride: While dating and attending college at Notre Dame, Wisconsin became an integral part of our relationship, as we often traveled back home together. It was only fitting that Andrew chose to propose in this special place, surrounded by the people we love. On the Fourth of July, at a charming church near my family’s lake house, Andrew got down on one knee, completely surprising me! The joy continued afterwards with both of our families who came to join in on the special celebration, and with of course, fireworks!”

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Michaela quickly booked a wedding dress appointment the weekend after the engagement in hopes that her 4 sisters could all make it. She was shocked to find out that Aleena Leena’s newest collection was in-store that very weekend—the same designer who had crafted her older sister’s wedding dress! With her mom and all four sisters by her side, Michaela found “the one” in the very first dress she tried on. The romantic and modern gown was the perfect choice for their spring wedding with its floral textured skirt and unique sheer bodice.[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Michaela’s 14 bridesmaids certainly brought the colors of spring to life, dressed in various styles and textures of pastel pinks, blues, and greens. They each carried a monochromatic bouquet to match the tone of their dresses.

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]Guests were greeted at cocktail hour with three signature drink menu options, “hers”, “his,” and “ours.” Being from Wisconsin, they both agreed a signature Brandy Old Fashioned was a must! Their other two included Michaela’s “The Firing Squad” for tequila lovers, and for Andrew’s choice, a classic Gin & Tonic.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The floral design was a major visual statement for the day and was included in nearly every photographic detail. From the styling of the invitation suite that bride Michaela designed, to the handheld monochromatic bouquets each bridesmaid carried in their corresponding color, to offering privacy screens for their banquette seating. During their reception, the florals not only were elegant and a textural vision to look at, fully bringing to life this springtime vision and adding interest to an otherwise modern blank space. But also served their functional purpose as well! Other textural items included a mix of french blue velvet and floral lace tableclothes. Tapestry candles and wooden chairs helped bring a welcoming warmth and coziness to the space.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Following their grand entrance into their first dance, the couple cut their simple, white, two-tiered cake with added floral, playing off the ambiance of their modern white venue and floral-filled reception as guests looked on from their tables.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”][/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Several months prior, Michaela had sent Andrew many photos of white convertible wedding photos. “She loved that aesthetic, particularly the idea of us in the convertible with the Milwaukee skyline behind.” Over the months of planning, they decided to drop the idea. However, leading up the big day Andrew secretly secured a white BMV from his aunt to surprise her with when they headed out for sunset photos. The reaction of her seeing the car parked out front as they headed outside was of such genuine excitement, and made for such a romantic evening taking the car for a quick spin as the sun set.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]While most of their day leaned into the modern wedding day, their shared faith and love of family and rooted traditions played an important role in strengthening their special bond. After their traditional catholic ceremony and mass at the Basilica, they handed out “Grandpa D’s snacks” – sharing Andrew’s family chex mix tradition with all their family and friends to enjoy![/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]They are very much friends & family people and love to be surrounded, as if their wedding party size wasn’t any indication! Even on international trips, they have always traveled with their families. However, not taking anyone else along on their honeymoon – it would be the big test! Their first solo trip together to Portugal. During their travels, they shared a funny moment during their time in the city of Lisbon. They had signed up for a group food tour (main detail here being with other people) but they ended up being the only two to show up. What would probably have been an awkward 4 hour experience turned into one of their favorites of their entire trip as they ate and drank all sorts of delicious food with their new personal tour guide bestie![/field]

Evergreen Style and the Bride’s Love of Christmas Influenced the Final Look of Their Wedding Day

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Evergreen, champagne & cream[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Because their wedding was in December, Natalie & Brad wanted to find a way to embrace the holidays that didn’t feel too literal, Christmas-y or tacky. They chose to incorporate subtle winter elegance, with evergreen touches, cozy details & fun nods to Christmas.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]The the words of the bride, “Brad and I were on a ski trip to Vail, CO when we got engaged. It was a beautiful sunny day and we were having a great time on the slopes. As we were riding the chair lift up the mountain, we looked at the map to see what slope we wanted to ski. We saw there was a slope called “Christmas”, so of course we chose that one since I especially love Christmas. About half way down the run, Brad asked me to stop and take a picture. Before I knew it he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. Ten months later, we were getting married at Christmas!”[/field]

A Blue and White California Vineyard Dream Ending In an Epic Party

[section title=”The Planning”]

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]From the bride: Our theme for the wedding was a French garden party. We loved the idea of overflowing florals, patterns & greenery. We knew Grindstone was the perfect setting as the cypress trees that lined the park immediately gave us the “French” aesthetic and knew our incredible florist Lisa Claire Hunter, could turn it into an overflowing garden. In addition to beautiful florals, we wanted our wedding to be fun, leaving an impression on guests to look back and remember how much fun they had. We had guests traveling from all over the country & world so it meant a lot to us that they knew how special they were to us! [/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]From the bride: We had plans to go to the Morgan Wallen concert with our friends and parents. Prior to meeting our friends; Jared, our parents and I met downtown for drinks. We would often frequent Hotel Winters so when Jared suggested we head there it wasn’t on my radar that he could be proposing. He led me to the water fountain in the courtyard where he got down on one knee. It was so special that our parents got to be apart of the proposal. From there we headed to the concert with our friends & family and celebrated all night! [/field]

As luck would have it, they wound up in the same boat.

Upon their return to Florence, Lillie and Rob ran into each other again, this time at the classic Monday night bar—The Lion’s Fountain, an Irish pub in Florence. Rob walked Lillie home and asked her on their first date—lunch after their Italian class for beginners.

Their next date was at the Piazza di Michelangelo, a lookout point in the city, to watch the sunset. Rob was pretty much all in at this point. Lillie, on the other hand, wanted to take some more time to get to know him.

They spent the rest of their time at Boston College together until graduation in the spring of 2017.

And finally, in the fall of 2022, they returned to Italy where it all began, and Rob asked Lillie to marry him.[/field]

The celebration concluded with a delightful dessert buffet.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The floral arrangement for the ceremony was designed to complement the villa’s façade, resulting in a display that was rich yet simple and clean, with particular attention given to the aisle path. The floral arrangements, featuring soft, romantic and modern blooms, perfectly complemented the pastel palette. Every element was harmoniously integrated, ensuring that nothing was left to chance in crafting this exquisite and sophisticated wedding.

For dessert, the couple opted for a grand pavlova, generously topped with blackberries and blueberries. The guests’ reactions to the first bite were priceless, as the dessert was nothing short of incredible. Before serving this show-stopping pavlova to their guests, the bride and groom had a bit of fun, sprinkling it with powdered sugar themselves.

Some expresso Martinis were served just before the party begins

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The floral arrangements for the wedding ceremony were a array of pastel hues, with each composition along the ceremony runway showcasing a unique blend of colors and flower types. The arrangements included arum lilies, sweet peas, peonies, hydrangeas, carnations, roses, and many more, all without any added foliage, allowing the flowers themselves to shine.

The ground arch at the ceremony was a masterpiece in blue, pink, with touches of white and yellow, creating an elegant effect by varying the heights of the flowers.

For the table designs, floral compositions were placed at the ends of each table, with between three to six arrangements per table depending on their length. These were complemented by elegant sets of three wine glasses and adorned with candles, enhancing the romantic and sophisticated ambiance of the celebration.[/field]

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Music played a pivotal role in setting the tone for this wedding, with a deliberate choice to feature a live band instead of a DJ. During the ceremony and cocktail hour, the delicate strains of two violinists and a bassist created an enchanting atmosphere. As the evening progressed, the musical experience evolved into a lively celebration with a larger ensemble. The party was energized by a dynamic group featuring two vocalists, a saxophonist, a guitarist, a pianist, and a trumpeter, and other musicians ensuring a vibrant and unforgettable ambiance that had everyone on their feet.[/field]

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

From the bride: Our wedding was incredibly special because it marked the culmination of seven wonderful years together. It was the first time all the people who’ve meant so much to us throughout our lives were gathered in one room. That alone made it one of the best nights of our lives. The overwhelming love from everyone there is something we’ll cherish forever. The night was not just a celebration of us but a celebration of all the relationships that have shaped who we are as a couple.

We wanted to celebrate Amelia Island’s local cuisine for our wedding menu since most of our guests were not from the area. Given the area’s strong shrimping industry, the entree included shrimp and grits alongside short ribs for a true Southern flair. To cap off the night, we surprised our guests with a late-night treat from Chick-fil-A, which was a big hit and added a playful touch to our reception. That was the highlight of the night and our guests still bring it up to us!

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Floral design was important to the couple and vendor team in creating an elegant look that flawlessly transformed a rustic venue into an elevated atmosphere—with dripping roses and greenery from the ceiling and chandeliers, mixed with sophisticated draping. cascading from the wooden beams, the space was highlighted with its beauty while taken to the next level. Specifically, White blooms were the focus- with a variety of Roses and Garden Roses, Lisianthus, and Ranunculus incorporated with garden-style greenery.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

Who said anything about ONE cake?! The couple had an assortment of beautiful cakes! lemon, white chocolate raspberry, and traditional wedding cakes

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

First dance: The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra

Ceremony – Parents and grandparents: Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring by J.S. Bach, Wedding party: Trumpet Tune by Jeremiah Clark, Bride: Bridal Chorus by Richard Wagner, Recessional: Wedding March

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Family played a very special part in the entire wedding and the couple wanted them to have special focus. Interestingly, the couple’s story can be dated back from before they were even born, as the bride and groom’s grandparents had actually met years before they were brought into the world, and they didn’t realize the connection until after they were dating!
Family
Especially important was that with the groom being from Puerto Rico, much of his family flew in for the wedding.
The bride’s father car was the special getaway vehicle, adorned with homemade painted cans that harken back to traditions of the past. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

We thought the oyster shells with people’s names on them were a nice personal touch that our guests could bring home with them and remind them of the coastal feel of Amelia Island.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

The couple’s love for Chick-fil-A (who could blame them?!) showed up for the late-night snack for everyone to enjoy. Of course, the couple couldn’t help but indulge in their favorite sandwich on the dance floor!

An Eclectic Feast for the Senses at Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Set against the lush backdrop of Coconut Grove, this eclectic and whimsical wedding was a true feast for the senses, bursting with vibrant colors and unexpected delights. Pops of fuchsia, pinks, and corals intertwined beautifully with deep greens, creating a captivating palette that reflected the couple’s playful spirit. From quirky decor elements to lively floral arrangements, every detail exuded charm and creativity, inviting guests into a world of joy and celebration. Unique seating arrangements and unexpected entertainment kept everyone engaged, ensuring that the day was not just a ceremony, but a joyful adventure. This unforgettable celebration perfectly encapsulated the couple’s love story, leaving everyone with cherished memories of a truly fun and magical day.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]When designing for Mary and Tom, we wanted to ensure to capture both of them as a couple and their personality into the design. During the wedding planning, Mary a 3rd grade teacher at Pinecrest Elementary in Miami had gone viral for her teaching style (@maryisbannans) which incorporates her love of the Miami Dolphins, football and life lessons for her kiddos. This was all happening during the wedding planning. Featured on the Today show and many local and national outlets it was only natural to incorporate football, the Miami Dolphins and bananas into the design.

The invitations set the tone as the wedding was taking place at Plymouth Congregational Church and the Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove. The beautiful historic stone church was the same church that Mary’s parents had gotten married and her family are active members. Donna Martinez, Mary’s mom, is the director of weddings at Plymouth and Mary is also a wedding coordinator on her spare time. It was now Mary’s turn to be the bride.

The invitations were artfully illustrated by Lauren Quesada with a crest that had a little football in it and a gorgeous artwork of Plymouth and tropical foliage and bougainvillea that captured the landscape of Coconut Grove. This was a beautiful mix of whimsical yet formal with a green silk ribbon to tie all the pieces together.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]At this stunning Miami wedding, guests were treated to an exquisite culinary experience featuring a carefully curated menu that showcased the vibrant flavors of the region. The pre-selected main courses included a beautifully seared branzino served with sweet potato mousseline, baby vegetables, pickled mushrooms, and a rich fig beurre-blanc—perfect for those seeking a light yet satisfying option. For meat lovers, the filet of beef tenderloin was a standout, accompanied by a savory onion relish, crushed potatoes, haricot verts, grilled mushrooms, and an oven-roasted tomato, all drizzled with a luscious tarragon bordelaise sauce. Additionally, a silent vegetarian option delighted palates with a creamy wild mushroom risotto enhanced by Boursin and Parmesan Reggiano. Each dish was thoughtfully designed to elevate the dining experience and celebrate the couple’s love in the heart of Miami.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]We designed a gorgeous wedding and kept in mind the colors of the room when choosing the canvas of the linens and chairs keeping to a neutral base.
The head table at this vibrant wedding was a stunning display of creativity and color, featuring a delightful mix of bright garden florals and elegant orchids, complemented by playful touches of pineapples and bananas. The low centerpieces burst with vivid blooms and zesty citrus accents, enhanced by graceful taper candles nestled in glass cylinders, creating an enchanting atmosphere. Surrounding round tables were adorned with a whimsical canopy of bougainvillea, draping gracefully overhead while hanging citrus and flickering candles added warmth and charm. This imaginative design not only celebrated the beauty of the surroundings but also reflected the couple’s adventurous spirit, inviting guests to bask in a truly tropical and joyful setting.

We enlisted Petal Productions to bring the custom rendering we had created to life. The overhang over the dance floor was one of our favorite touches where guests danced the night away over a patterned dance floor with cascading tropical foliage and disco balls with white decorative hanging monkeys. [/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The wedding cake design was artfully designed by the in-house pastry Chef at the Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove. The design was a painted delicate tropical design that brought the elegance of the venue while still being colorful and festive. [/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]The readings, ceremony musician was very important to the couple.

There was a fun element where the groom’s father sang some songs with the band. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]There were so many fun and unexpected details at Mary and Tom’s wedding. From the Miami Dolphins super bowl ticket escort card display to the phone photo opportunity with floral pink flamingo and a sign “Let’s go bananas”. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]We wanted to make sure there was a fun surprise for the groom as well. We had a drumline rev things up and even had the groom participate as he was formerly in a marching band. This kicked up the energy even more. [/field]
