A Touch of Tropics and a Dose of Summer at Cheeca Lodge & Spa

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]The bride and groom wanted a look that fit the aesthetic of Cheeca Lodge & Spa, one of the premier wedding venues in the Florida Keys., while maintaining the classic, all-white elegance of a traditional wedding. To this end, we focused on blending vibrant, tropical greens with bright white classic and tropical florals, with pops of gold worked in throughout the tablescape. The secluded beach ceremony featured a tropical-inspired chuppah with a backdrop of Florida’s sunset colors.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]While our couple wanted to preserve the classic aesthetic of a “white wedding,” we were tasked with incorporating vibrant tropical greenery, from the chuppah through the reception centerpieces. Our tablescape featured the same elements, with tropical touches throughout, including color incorporated through chargers, bright, tropical napkins, and other details incorporated throughout the reception space.[/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Florals started with an elevanted, monochromatic, loose globe bouquet for the bride, with hydrangea, roses orchids, ranunculus, and similar stems, and a coordinating phalaenopsis boutonniere for the groom. The tropical chuppah arch was designed to be taken apart for a quick flip to line the band stage in the ballroom, bringing dual use to these florals. Centerpieces included high/low arrangements with tropical greenery and white floral, as well as candlelight, bringing visual interest to the bright and airy reception space.[/field]

Italian Romance in Autumn at the Incomparable La Foce

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Since the wedding ceremony was to be held outside in a historic garden in October, we wanted to play into the beautiful cypress hedges surrounding La Foce’s enchanting estate, so we kept our color palette simple with a nod to our beloved Tuscany in sage green and white tones. The groom, Andrea Berti, was born and raised in a small village in Tuscany near Arezzo where his family still resides and has become home for the bride, Ann Wang, as well since we come back to visit at least once a year since 2015, so it only made sense for us to celebrate our love in a place that was meaningful to us both.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Because our venue, La Foce (@lafoce), was stunning in itself, it was really the only vision we needed to plan the rest of our wedding. It was actually the only venue we visited before we made our decision. The groom’s cousin’s husband’s brother recommended it during a chance encounter in town and since it was only about 40 minutes away from home, it made for an ideal location for the groom’s family and friends to get to. Additionally, the 3-day minimum requirement to rent the villa had the exact amount of rooms we were looking for for our family and bridal party to stay in and the perfect amount of days needed for our destination wedding. The estate conveniently had other properties available to rent nearby as well. Our remaining guests stayed at La Foce’s Palazzolo B&B, a farmhouse only 1km away from the main villa making it easy for the guests to get between the two points. Once the decision was made, it was easy to lean into a romantic Italian garden formal theme. We wanted to keep it simple but chic with a touch of Tuscan country charm. A total of 50 people including the bride and groom made for an ideal amount of guests for an intimate, fairytale wedding in an enchanting garden in the countryside. A welcome dinner was hosted on the first evening at the estate’s neighboring restaurant, Dopolavoro. Our photographer Sergio Sorrentino (@sergiosorrentino_photography) and videographer Katia Casprini (@katiacasprinifilms) captured portraits of the bride and the groom in the gardens as well as family portraits inside before heading to the restaurant. Finally, a farewell dinner was held at Podere il Casale, a charming farm-to-table restaurant in Pienza, a town in Siena that the couple frequents for its famous pecorino cheese.

[section title=”The Fashion”]
[field title=”Wedding Gown”]

The bride was previously a fashion editor at Hearst magazines and covered the bridal market at one point. A PR friend of mine kindly connected me with a friend of her’s at Theia @theiacouture who helped me find the dress of my dreams – something chic, effortless, and timeless – an off-the-shoulder crepe column dress with a detachable train that made me feel like an elegant Bridgerton queen. I added a cathedral-length veil with laser-cut satin floral petals and hand-sewn pearls to elevate the classic dress. I loved how light my dress was and that I was able to add a detachable train for a more dramatic look down the aisle of La Foce’s stunning garden without having to carry excess weight. I didn’t want to have to worry about traveling internationally hauling a dress around uncomfortably. To complete the look, I wore a matching pearl choker and bracelet set that my mother and both my sisters wore on their wedding day.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

The bridesmaids wore complementing sage green and floral printed dresses mainly from Reformation in different styles and silhouettes paired with complimenting gold accessories.

[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]

The groomsmen wore a classic black suit, white button-down shirt, black dress shoes, and matching black bow ties gifted from The Tie Bar (@thetiebar).

[board_carousel title=”Cocktail Hour”]

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]We worked with a local caterer, Italian Taste (@italiantastelodovichi), who both catered and produced our big day. From the very beginning to the very end, they truly handled it all. They made the planning process for our destination wedding so easy, seamless, and stress-free – all at an extremely reasonable price point. Their services include a wedding coordinator/planner who will not only direct and produce your wedding day, but will work with you from the very beginning in your selection of setting and mise en place, furniture, lighting, menu, drinks, and cake.
During the cocktail hour, Aperol Spritz, Italian prosecco, rosé wine, and soft drinks were served as guests grazed from a variety of stations including a butcher station with cured meats, porchetta, hard Italian cheeses, fresh Italian vegetable tempura, a selection of traditional crostini and bruschette, oysters and shrimp crudité, meat and fish carpaccio, as well as traditional Tuscan finger foods such as panzanella, pappa al pomodoro, and minipinzimonio.
At the reception, glasses of Vermentino and Montalcino were poured as eggplant parmigianino with buffalo mozzarella, pachino tomatoes and basil pesto were served as the starter. Fresh, handmade pastas came next. Guests were able to choose either tortelli with ricotta and cedar with Piccadilly tomato fillets, burrata and Bronte pistachios, or papperdelle with wild boar, or both – with as many servings as you wished. The main course was a Florentine tagliata steak with rosemary alongside grilled vegetables and golden potatoes. After the cake cutting, sweet stations were added for the guests to enjoy between dancing and drinking. A chocolate tasting station and a grand buffet with fruit and cakes such as single servings of tiramisu, panna cotta, and torta della nonna spread alongside the dance floor next to the international open cocktail bar.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

We worked with Marisa at Le Petit Jardin (@lepetitjardinitaly) who went above and beyond turning our vision into a masterpiece, helping us create something we loved that worked well within our budget by repurposing our flowers from the ceremony to our reception. Sticking to our sage green and white color palette, we wanted in-season greenery and white florals to be incorporated and specifically, calla lilies for the bridal bouquet and groom buttonhole and baby’s breath for the bridesmaids’ bouquets. We also requested to incorporate olive leaves throughout to not only represent Tuscany but pay tribute to my husband’s late father who passed away unexpectedly 2 years ago on his beloved ranch where his olive trees were his pride and joy. Marisa took our inspiration and created a green and white floral composition that climbed up and around the stone altar. She then repurposed the ceremony flowers and utilized them for the reception room, tables, and cake-cutting moment. Marisa and her team also created beautiful invitations for us depicting La Foce’s stunning lower garden and altar, which added such a nice touch to the special details that were photographed throughout our wedding day.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

Our wedding cake was a millefoglie made by our caterer Italian Taste – a traditional Italian wedding cake made of layers of puff pastry, chantilly cream, strawberries, and meringue. It was probably one of the best-tasting things we served at our wedding – I regret having only the bite my husband fed me when cutting the cake. The cake-cutting moment was also one of our favorite memories. After dinner, our caterer brought the cake out for us to decorate with strawberries and powdered sugar which we then turned into a fun activity for our nieces and nephew that brought everyone so much joy as the DJ set the vibes transitioning the reception into an after-party. We danced away as we decorated, cut, and passed out slices of millefoglie that magically disappeared in seconds. If I could eat one thing again from my wedding day, the cake would be it – a cake that was literally made with pure love.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

Because I love meaningful connections, we chose to work with Michele at Sorrento Live Music (@sorrentolivemusic) who also played at my twin sister’s wedding in Positano 7 years ago. It felt like a mini reunion for all of us – including our photographer, Sergio! For the ceremony, we went with a live violin and cello duo in acoustic who played, “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley for the groom and bridal party’s entrance and “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran as the bride walked down the aisle. For the exit, I secretly chose my husband’s favorite song, “Bittersweet Symphony” by The Verve as a surprise for him. I actually completely forgot that I did – he lit up as we walked down the aisle and couldn’t believe his favorite song was playing and I couldn’t believe I forgot! The violin and cello duo continued to play live into the cocktail hour. Once the sun had set and guests were ushered indoors to The Orangerie where the reception was held, Michele and his partner played as a guitar and mandolin duo in acoustic, stopping table by table playing guests’ requests and keeping the energy alive throughout the evening. They weren’t just background music – they were true entertainers who joined people together in song, dance, and laughter. Once the cake-cutting moment began, the live DJ took over for the rest of the evening as everyone danced the night away.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Our photographer, Sergio (@sergiosorrentino_photography), was also my twin sister’s wedding photographer and I always knew I wanted him to photograph my wedding some day. His work is impeccable and it felt so special knowing my twin sister and I get to share the same wedding photographer as we share so many things and are extremely close. Funnily, my twin sister’s name is Andrea and she is also married to an Italian man named Andrea. We love how bizarre it is that we ended up with Italian men with the same name, who we both met at work, who were our seniors. and who shared other comically identical qualities. Having Sergio be a part of both
our love stories was the cherry on top of the most magical wedding weekend that truly was a dream come true.[/field]

Spring Garden Romance at Green Gables Wedding Estate

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]For the color palette, Stacey drew inspiration from the soft hues of spring and pastel shades, fully embracing them in her choices. This bride has a deep love for pink, so she made it a central theme throughout the decor![/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The vision and vibe of this wedding day were to create a romantic spring garden party atmosphere! Green Gables Wedding Estate has an ethereal and enchanting feel, so the bride fully embraced this when it came to her vision. Overall, an intimate, colorful, and romantic vibe was the goal! [/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]During Stacey and Darren’s first Thanksgiving together, they visited Stacey’s hometown and took a trip to Tahoe—a place he had never been but where she grew up spending time. They discovered a beautiful spot by the lake and walked out to it. A year later, during Thanksgiving week, they returned to Tahoe and walked out to that same spot, just the two of them. The day was perfect—the sun was shining, and snow covered the ground by the lake—and it was there that Darren proposed. Afterward, they met up with Stacey’s family to celebrate the moment![/field]

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]For the groomsmen’s attire, Stacey wanted them and Darren to match suits and ties- but have her groom be the only one with a vest to make him stand out a little more. A pop of color was added by incorporating their garden-picked florals into the boutonnières.[/field]

For their signature cocktails, they added a personal touch with drinks named after each of them and one inspired by Long Beach, the city where they first met. Guests enjoyed “The Dirty Darren,” the “Stawc-Arita,” and the “Old Fashioned LBC.”[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]For the florals, Stacey envisioned a vibrant array of in-season blooms, steering away from traditional white to create a bold statement. She embraced bright, colorful flowers to bring her vision to life. Accent bud vases were placed on tables and throughout the venue, perfectly capturing the enchanting garden party atmosphere she desired.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Instead of a traditional wedding cake, the couple delighted their guests with churros and ice cream! Throughout the reception, everyone could visit the churro cart and customize their desserts with a variety of delicious toppings. From chocolate truffle ganache and fresh strawberries topping to La Lechera Crema, the dessert bar offered a little something for everyone.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]The groom’s mother officiated their wedding ceremony, adding a deeply personal touch to their special day. Stacey and Darren chose meaningful Bible verses for her to incorporate, including James 1:19-20. They also carefully selected ceremony music that held personal significance, with Darren choosing “With You I Am” by Cody Johnson and Stacey selecting “Never Til Now” by Ashley Cooke.

The dance floor was packed from start to finish, just as the bride and groom had hoped. Their DJ kept the energy high, ensuring everyone joined in the celebration—including both of their 90-year-old grandmothers! At one memorable moment, the DJ played “Sweet Caroline,” and Stacey and Darren danced with the groom’s grandmother, Caroline. Almost immediately after, “Stacey’s Mom” came on, prompting the entire dance floor to erupt with cheers and laughter![/field]

A Luxurious Summer Wedding in the English Countryside at Euridge Manor

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”The Inspiration”]The inspiration for this day was deeply rooted in the grandeur of location itself. The estate’s stunning architecture, timeless elegance, and natural beauty served as the perfect muse for a wedding that blended sophistication with the tranquil charm of the countryside.

In a location as breathtaking as Euridge Manor, this design concept was all about embracing the magnificence of the setting, allowing its natural grandeur to shine through while incorporating elements that felt both elegant and intimate.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]The natural palette of blush, ivory, and gold was chosen to complement the grandeur of the venue—soft, romantic tones that would harmonize with the stone and greenery of the estate while adding a touch of luxury. These colors were carefully woven throughout every aspect of the wedding design, from the florals to the table settings, creating a timeless, cohesive aesthetic that celebrated the beauty of the location.

This refined color palette with soft, romantic shades mirrored the gentle hues of summer in the countryside, creating an atmosphere that felt both luxurious and effortlessly elegant. [/field]
[field title=”The Venue”]Euridge Manor is a hidden gem tucked away in the serene Wiltshire countryside, a place where history and nature harmonize perfectly. These lush florals framed the arch, creating a romantic, ethereal look that felt perfectly in tune with the natural surroundings. The florals were designed to look as though they had bloomed organically from the very earth of the estate, with every detail adding to the sense of a dreamlike, enchanted moment.

After the ceremony, guests made their way to the terrace above the boathouse for the dinner reception, where the elegance and sophistication of the design truly came to life. The terrace, with its sweeping views of the lake below and the stunning architecture of the manor house above, provided a breathtaking setting for an unforgettable reception. Expert’s Guide on Where to Honeymoon By Month!

When you’re planning one of the biggest vacations of your life, it’s important to consider the seasonality of potential honeymoon destinations. The time of year for many popular escapes around the world can impact factors like price, crowds, available discounts, availability and weather. So no matter if you’re taking a honeymoon immediately after the wedding, or postponing for a better time, here are some great suggestions of where to honeymoon during each month of the year!

January: Iceland

Yes, January is one of the colder and darker months of the year in Iceland, but for honeymooners that just means beautiful wintery landscapes, hours a day to watch the northern lights, and fewer crowds at the places you want to see!

February: Anguilla

Looking for a warm weather and a beach in the dead of winter? Anguilla is just the place for a honeymoon escape, as it’s a quieter island compared to elsewhere in the Caribbean, and one that’s home to luxury resorts, fabulous beaches and amazing food.

March: Thailand

You’ll want to visit Thailand when it’s sunny and dry, and avoid the crazy partying that happens over New Year’s and winter break. While weather can vary significantly based on where in the country you’ll be, in March you should be fine no matter which region you’re in or island you’re on!

April: Morocco

Climate-wise, this is the best time to go as it’s neither too hot nor too cold which is critical when you’re traveling to the desert! As an added bonus you’ll miss out on the heavy tourism during summer and winter so you’ll have the souks, the roads, and the palaces to yourselves!

May: Provence

Avoid Provence during the busy summer months where villa and hotel rates skyrocket and instead visit in May right before the influx of tourists arrive. You’ll still experience pleasant weather, fields of wildflowers, quaint villages and markets, and cozy evenings.

June: Tahiti

June is technically during Tahiti’s dry season, and while hotel deals are hard to come by year round, this is a great time to go to ensure sunshine and clear water. You don’t want weather cramping your style while you’re lounging in your overwater bungalow.

July: Croatia

Croatia has it all for honeymooners in July: historic and picture-perfect old towns and villages, fresh seafood, lively nightlife scene and beaches and coastline as far as the eye can see. Rent a yacht and go island hopping and bask in the sunshine on the Adriatic coast.

August: Greece

The Greek Islands are some of the most romantic in the world, and while some like Santorini and Mykonos can get crazy busy during August, you can still find amazing scenery, rich history and fewer crowds at Paros, Corfu and Rhodes.

September: Tuscany

Head to Tuscany in September to avoid the high-season crowds in the summer but still experience perfect weather, some of the best food and wine in the world, and the quaintest old villages nestled in the rolling hills.

October: Ireland

Ireland in October is full of rolling green hills, grazing sheep, breathtaking ragged coastlines, quaint villages and romantic old castles. The crowds will be gone in October, the weather will still be pleasant (though don’t forget an umbrella) and prices are much lower!

November: Sri Lanka

Home to elephants and leopards, luxurious resorts, perfect beaches and colonial history, Sri Lanka is the perfect destination for those seeking a mix of adventure and relaxation. November is off-season so there are great deals to be had, and while it might rain, it will be scattered and followed by sunshine!

December: Rwanda

Go to Rwanda in December as it’s the start of the short dry season, and the best time to track the gorillas! Just make sure you book your accommodations and secure your gorilla tracking permits far in advance, as this is a popular time to go!

Elevated Garden Party With Lush Greens and Heartfelt Details in the Heart of Lowcountry

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Our color palette was centered around green, symbolizing growth, hope, and good health. We complemented it with soft tones of cream, light pink/blush, light blue, and touches of yellow to bring warmth and brightness. [/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Our wedding vision was to create an elevated garden party that felt both classic and vibrant. We wanted a timeless elegance but with playful, textural details that added warmth and personality to the celebration. The goal was to strike a balance between sophistication and fun, with every element feeling meaningful and inviting to our guests who traveled across the world to be with us (from Ireland, Indonesia, California, New York, Florida, and more!)[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]We got engaged on May 12, 2023 in a quiet corner of Central Park with (somehow) only one bystander nearby and a surprise photographer, executed perfectly by Nick. We had already planned a trip to New York so that I could show Nick how beautiful New York is in the Spring, and it turns out Nick had plans of his own and decided it was the perfect setting to pop the question. Just when I thought the surprises were over after his proposal in the park, it turned out that Nick had coordinated with my sister, Katie and brother-in-law, Frank, who live in Ireland, to fly in and celebrate with us that evening. As soon as we made it back to our hotel following the proposal and brunch, Katie and Frank were on the rooftop overlooking the Empire State Building waiting for us with cocktails in hand. We later asked Frank to officiate the wedding, making the moment even more special. [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Wedding Gown: After visiting multiple bridal boutiques in both Charlotte and Northern VA (where I am originally from) I finally found my dress at Anjolique Bridal in Cornelius, NC, located right outside of Charlotte. I was lucky that Anjolique was having a Berta trunk show at the time I went in for my appointment, and I immediately fell in love with the intricate and romantic lace on the Muse by Berta gown I tried on and ultimately chose.
Reception Dress : For our reception I decided to change into a hand beaded Clio Peppiatt dress so that I could comfortably boogie on the dance floor with our guests all night long![/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]The bridesmaids wore champagne-colored Amsale dresses, with each choosing a style that complemented her individual personality and made them feel confident. This added a personal touch while maintaining a cohesive, elegant look. I gifted each of the girls earrings to wear on the wedding day from SJ Bailey Co, a small business based out of Atlanta, which they loved! My bridesman, Samir, wore a Midnight Pin Dot Tuxedo from The Black Tux and a champagne bow tie to compliment the bridesmaid dresses. Our flower girls (my nieces) wore dresses handmade by Maria Platero, sourced from Etsy. Both dresses featured a blue satin sash as a nod to my late Grandma Faye’s favorite movie, The Sound of Music. The sashes were inspired by the iconic line from ‘My Favorite Things’ – ‘girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes’ adding a sentimental and personal touch to their outfits, and of course acting as my Something Blue! [/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Nick wore a sleek midnight blue tuxedo from The Black Tux, paired with a feathered bow tie, cufflinks, and studs from Brackish, a company based in Charleston, adding a meaningful local touch. He was excited to rock a pair of Gucci loafers, which he had chosen during a special trip we took to Monaco this past June. I surprised Nick with a bottle of Creed cologne while he was getting ready in his suite so that he too could have a wedding day scent :) Nick’s groomsmen wore the same tuxedo as he did with black bow ties. [board_carousel title=”Cocktail Hour”]

[/board_carousel]
[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]We wanted our guests to be greeted with champagne as soon as they got off the shuttles at Lowndes Grove to start the night off right! We added an edible flower to each champagne coupe to be cohesive with our garden party theme. At cocktail hour we had passed hors d’oeuvres that evoked a sense of warmth and hospitality – crab cakes with smoked paprika aioli, fried green tomatoes with bacon and pimento cheese, spicy tuna tartar, half in a cucumber cup, half in a wonton cup, lamb loin with dijon mustard, and had an artisan cheese and biscuit bar display in the house for guests to enjoy while they cooled off. Nick and I love to try different foods, so for our reception dinner we opted for dinner stations so that guests could try more than one entree. Our four dinner stations were: Ricotta Ravioli with poached asparagus, goat cheese, and lemon beurre blanc. Petite Chicken Breast with savory mushroom bread pudding, creamed spinach, and pan jus. Halibut with orzo, feta, cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, citrus vinaigrette, and a carving station serving Seared Beef Tenderloin with black peppercorn demi, horseradish cream, served with artisanal rolls + garlic herb butter.
Later in the night we had late night bites passed – smash Burgers with secret sauce, pickles, onions, on a sesame bun, and fried chicken sliders with cheddar, remoulade, dill pickles on a hawaiian slider. We wanted to include our alma maters somehow (Go Cats, Go Hokies!) and Kate Eliza Creative made us the cutest collegiate flags which we put in the late night bites for a fun, personal touch!
To keep the party going we had espresso martinis passed late night with the letter ‘M’ (for our last name, Moraco) stenciled on top with sprinkled cinnamon – such a fun and special touch that guests loved. It helped that the espresso martinis were absolutely delicious! [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Florals played a central role in our design, inspired by the gardens both of our moms tended while we were growing up. With the help of our incredible wedding planner from A Charleston Bride, Abby Frye, and florist, Whitney, from Festoon – our vision was brought to life and we were so amazed by how it all turned out! Notably the stars of the show were the tall pedestal floral arrangements we had between our dinner tables which made such a statement and turned out so beautiful. Our planner and creative genius, Abby Frye, also gave us the idea to include the custom honeysuckle lampshades which added such a cute touch to our bars.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]For our wedding cake we decided to go simple with a two tier cake – funfetti and chocolate, with our dog Reese as our cake topper! We opted to have desserts passed for our guests so that everyone could try a few different things. We had oreo cheesecake bites, cannolis as a nod to Nick’s Italian heritage, and peach cobbler – a southern staple and a dessert my Mom always made for me growing up. [/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]My Irish brother in law, Frank, officiated our wedding and did an amazing job, self proclaiming himself as ‘Father Frank’ and even incorporated speaking Gaelic into the script, which was such a special and meaningful touch to us. Frank started the ceremony by saying ‘As we say back home in Ireland, Cead Mile Failte teaghlach agus chairde (100,000 welcomes family and friends)’ and later in the ceremony said “An rud atá i ndán duit ní rachaidh sé tharat. What’s for you won’t pass you.”
We had a string quartet from Palmetto Strings for our ceremony and cocktail hour and they were outstanding. During the processional our family walked out to Moon River, the bridal and grooms party to Invisible String, and I walked out to At Last. For our Recessional song we chose Dancing in the Moonlight, which to me, always makes me think of warm summer nights (and the movie A Walk to Remember), which felt fitting for our September 7 soiree!
During the ceremony we had my friend and college sorority sister, Alex, read ‘Falling in Love is Like Owning a Dog’ by Taylor Mali as a nod to our sweet fur baby Reese. We wanted to include a reading that was both personal to us but also light hearted and funny.
To close out the ceremony we had Nick’s Grandpa Frank, his adorable Poppop, lead us in prayer by reading the Prayer of Saint Francis. We were thrilled to include Nick’s Poppop as he and Nick have such a special bond.
Our first dance was to ‘Sweet Symphony’ by Joy Oladokun ft. Chris Stapleton
My Dad, Glen, and I danced to “Edelweiss” (the version with Christopher Plummer’s original vocals), as another nod to my Dad’s Mom, my late Grandma Faye, as the Sound of Music was her favorite film.
Nick and his Mom, Cathy, danced to ‘Days like this’ by Van Morrison, who is one of Cathy’s favorite artists!
Our band, Power 2 Party, blew it out of the water and our guests are still telling us how they were the best band they’d ever seen at a wedding. We can’t say enough wonderful things about Monte and the entire Power 2 Party group! They kept the dance floor packed, with overflow, all night long, which is exactly what Nick and I wanted! [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]We wanted to include our late grandparents in a way that would be memorable, so we chose to honor them by naming our signature drinks after them, served at cocktail hour and throughout the night. Nick’s grandpa Sal was from Sicily, Italy, so we renamed the traditional bourbon smash to be called the Sicilian Smash and named it “The Sal” and Ali’s Grandma Ruth recently passed away in July at 102 years old (!!), so we named the Paloma the ‘Baby Ruth’ after her beloved nickname. We also included our fur baby in our bar menu so she could be with us in spirit[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″] Nick and I love to travel, so for our table assignments, we opted to name our tables after some of our favorite places we’ve traveled together – The French Riviera, Old San Juan, Lisbon, and more! [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]I surprised Nick with a sentimental gift to open during our first look that I had kept up my sleeve for some time! I was able to track down the receipt from our first date 5 years ago, which I had framed through Framebridge.
We had the incredibly talented Chloe Strickland from Cloud Studio paint watercolor portraits of our guests – gifting them timeless keepsakes to cherish. We knew our guests traveled far and wide to be with us, and we really wanted to incorporate a special and unique touch to thank them for being there.[/field]

Wine Aficionados Wed at Montage Healdsburg on the Perfect Summer Day

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Natalie and Joshua chose neutral pastels for their wedding palette. The main focus was finding a spacious venue with gorgeous vineyards – a nod to their love of wine. The design was very soft and romantic. [/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Set amidst the rolling vineyards of Sonoma County on a warm July day, their special day reflected everything that makes them who they are—romantic, adventurous travelers, wine aficionados and deeply in love. Details of their love story were woven into every element of the day. Their seating chart featured watercolor designs of their favorite travel destinations, a nod to their shared love for exploring the world.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Living in NYC at the time, they got engaged on the east coast. It was a huge surprise that Joshua pulled off. They planned to go out to dinner for NYC Restaurant Week. When they got in the Uber, he surprised Natalie by actually taking her to a candlelight concert of Stevie Wonder. When they got into the elevator, there were candles everywhere and flowers. After the proposal, they went on a private boat ride and Natalie was shocked to see both of their families waiting for them below deck to partake in the celebration.

A funny tidbit – Natalie had refused to get her nails done earlier in the week – so Joshua (forever a planner) bought a few packs of stick on nails for her to pick from after he popped the question and slid the ring on her finger.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The florals for the wedding were lush and plentiful. At the ceremony, an arch framed the couple beneath their shaded canopy. Coral, pink, and light blue blooms were prominent. The bride carried a full garden bouquet with flox, ranunculous, queen anne’s lace, garden roses, and lisianthus. At dinner, each table was set with a full center arrangement and a watercolor table number that reflected one of the couple’s favorite places to spend time. [/field]

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Anca and Trey’s wedding reflected a blend of elegance and joy, embodying both romance and modern sophistication. The color palette featured soft sunset pastels accentuated by vibrant pinks and oranges, creating a harmonious gradient with touches of ivory and cream. To add a personal touch, baby blue elements were woven into the centerpieces, arch, and bouquets. Emphasizing their intercontinental love story, the couple incorporated travel-themed details throughout the celebration. Each guest’s seating was marked by a luggage tag with their name and table number, doubling as a fun keepsake. Table numbers represented significant destinations in their journey together, celebrating the places that shaped their relationship.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Trey and Anca decided to go on their first date in March 2020, just as the world began to grapple with the pandemic. This Vineyard Owner’s Wedding Was All About Seasonal Celebration

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Lavender, deep red and pale shades of greenery[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

After an intimate proposal at Eden Rift Vineyard, California’s oldest operating vineyard, Michelle and Christian knew they wanted to welcome their friends and family back for their wedding celebration. As the owner and operator of the vineyard, Christian wanted his wedding to Michelle to be a weekend filled with fine wine, effortless design, and representation of their backgrounds (Michelle is Taiwanese-American and Christian is a fifth-generation San Francisco native). Drawing inspiration from the colors and textures of early summer at the vineyard, the wedding day design was chic and effortless, with emphasis placed on the florals, the cuisine (and wine!), and the fashion for an instantly epic occasion.

Coastal Elegance and Southern Hospitality for the Golf Loving Couple on Kiawah Island

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Neutral Creams & Whites, Marine Blue [/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Rachel and Wright’s wedding day was a perfect blend of coastal elegance and thoughtful hospitality. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of The Ocean Course on Kiawah Island, the event featured a neutral color palette complemented by lush, understated florals and chic marine blue accents. Every detail was designed with the guest experience in mind, from the lively putting competition on the greens to the spirited second line that led everyone to the reception. The result was a celebration that felt both sophisticated and inviting, with the natural beauty of the coastal venue enhancing every moment.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Wright and I were always supposed to be “off limits.” As the younger brother of one of my best friends, Becca, he wasn’t someone I was meant to flirt with—so naturally, I did. What began as playful banter during Becca’s engagement and wedding celebrations turned into something more. After our first date, we never looked back.

Fast forward to Labor Day weekend in Highlands, NC, a cherished destination for Wright’s family. I was told we were heading there for a golf tournament, though I don’t even play golf! As it turned out, there was no tournament—the weekend had been a cleverly orchestrated plan.

It was a rainy afternoon and Wright suggested we head to dinner early while the others got ready. On the way, he took a “shortcut” through a scenic neighborhood, parked the car, and led me down a trail to a breathtaking overlook of the Smoky Mountains. Despite my hesitation about hiking in the rain after just doing my hair, I followed him—and it was worth it.

At the exact moment we reached the overlook, the rain softened, and a double rainbow appeared. Wright knelt down, said the sweetest words, and asked me to marry him. A hidden photographer captured the moment, and we spent time soaking in the joy before returning to the house, where Wright’s family had planned a surprise celebration. The most touching part? Walking into the kitchen to see my dad, whom Wright had secretly invited to share in this special moment.

We spent the rest of the weekend celebrating in the mountains before returning to Nashville to begin planning our wedding adventure![/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The florals for Rachel and Wright’s wedding at the Ocean Course were the perfect touch of coastal elegance. The ceremony featured lush arrangements of white roses, delphiniums, lisianthus, and seasonal greenery that created a romantic, timeless vibe and blended beautifully with the oceanfront backdrop. Flowing arrangements lined the aisle, leading to a stunning altar display that framed the couple perfectly against the coastal horizon. At the reception, the tables were adorned with soft, neutral floral centerpieces paired with textured greenery, adding a natural yet sophisticated charm to the tented space. The blooms tied seamlessly into the marine blue and neutral color palette, elevating the entire day.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Rachel and Wright’s wedding cake was a true work of art. [field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Rachel and Wright kicked off their cocktail hour with a playful nod to Wright’s love of golf. Hosting a putting competition on the legendary greens of the PGA Championship’s Ocean Course, the couple joined their guests for a spirited round of friendly competition. With champagne and cocktails in hand, everyone embraced the fun of the moment, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Foregoing a traditional formal entrance, Rachel and Wright led their guests to the reception with a second line. Accompanied by the lively melodies of a brass band, the procession moved from cocktail hour to the reception beneath a tunnel of string lights, perfectly timed with the golden hues of the sunset. The experience delighted guests and set the stage for an unforgettable evening.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

Rachel’s second outfit was all about fun and effortless style. She traded her wedding gown for a sparkly beaded mini dress that caught the light with every move. Paired with classic white Nike Air Force Ones, she was ready to dance the night away while staying comfortable. It was the perfect mix of playful and chic, showing off her bubbly personality and making their grand exit even more memorable.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

I had a very specific vision for our wedding aesthetic. I had always wanted a backyard wedding, but soon realized that the vibe I wanted would difficult to execute at a real home. I found our venue, MacArthur Place, via Instagram and loved how the grounds were made up of several cottages with multiple lawn areas, as having an outdoor wedding was my priority. It was important for me that the design elements were cohesive with the space, but not necessarily in a garden party way, which is what the venue leans towards. I wanted to bring in moody elements & a lot of texture to an other wise bright garden space to fit my vision.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Sam and I are high school sweethearts so our proposal was a long time in the making! We started dating when we were 16 and 17 years old, and have been together ever since. Sam proposed to me on the cliffs of Point Dume during sunset. I was looking at the water below, and I turned around to see that he was on one knee. I was so excited that I did not immediately realize that he had a photographer there! After a few moments, I realized not only was there a photographer, but that it was two of our best friends there to capture the moment via camera and video making it all the more sweet to celebrate with two of our favorite people. They were both closely included in our wedding, one as the officiant and the other gave a speech at our dinner reception. Following our romantic proposal and a brief photoshoot moment, the two of us celebrated at my favorite oceanfront restaurant. It was my dream proposal, casual and very us.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]

My wedding gown was designed by Danielle Frankel from LOHO Bride. I had always loved Danielle Frankel gowns as they are very fashion-forward and untraditional- yet timeless. The gown I wore was the very first wedding gown I had ever tried on. I knew immediately, as did my mom and sister who came with me. This was a very special moment for me, as my mom’s wedding gown also happened to be the very first dress she tried on as well- so I just really loved that synchronicity 31 years apart, almost to the day!

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

I really love texture so I wanted my bridesmaids to bring in more dimension with their gowns. I sent them each a vision board for color/vibe and decided no solid or slip dresses. My sister who was my maid of honor wore an ombre and pleated L’IDEE gown, Sam’s sister wore a silk printed halter dress (designer unknown), my sister-in-law wore a sequined gown by Aisha Rao from Kiska Studios and my childhood best friend wore a sequined dress from House of CB. Each of the dresses complimented each other so well and pulled my vision together perfectly.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

MacArthur Place is well known for its on-site restaurant, Layla. Sam and I were very excited to create a menu for our wedding dinner with their chef who uses all locally sourced ingredients. Cocktail hour was hosted on the front lawn of the property and we offered passed hors devours, which included lamb chops, fresh bruschetta toasts, and truffle arancini. Cocktail hour is also where we introduced our signature cocktails! Sam’s favorite cocktail is a Moscow mule, so it was too easy to coin his cocktail “The Sam-ule”, while mine is a vodka dirty martini that we named “The Liv-Tini”. Both of these cocktails are very recognizable by the glasses they are served in, so it was fun to see what cocktails our guests chose if they opted for one of the signatures! Of course, being in Sonoma we also had plenty of wine options, the first splash being served prior to guests being seated for the ceremony. Our dinner was beautiful, featuring guests’ choice of farm-to-table salads and locally sourced ingredients for entrees.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Florals are always one of my favorite parts of wedding decor so I really wanted them to be special, Alexa from Vanda Floral Design brought my vision to life! As mentioned previously, I love texture, I wanted our florals to provide just that. Using locally sourced grasses, amaranthus and seasonal blooms such as pee gee hydrangeas, belladonna, orchids, and more Alexa created stunning arrangements, all unique to their respective areas but cohesive together. In perfect harmony with wine country, our florals uniquely included grapes! Our Ceremony florals consisted of blooming aisle arrangements that had the most color of all of the arrangements, alternating purples and blue. These were made to look like they were growing straight from the ground. There is a stunning arbor on site that showcases roses during the spring, however, in August it is mostly green. While the green arbor was beautiful, I wanted to bring in the elements of my bouquet to the space and Alexa created a beautiful arrangement of hydrangeas, roses, and amaranthus that hung above us. Set up under the arbor, we had a green fabric backdrop that flowed into the aisle under our feet. I envisioned my bridal portraits using this, but once it was set up I decided it would stay there throughout the entire wedding day and evening because I loved how much it added to the space. We had three beautiful bars throughout the venue as we had different spaces for each part of the night, all of which had large cascading arrangements on them. Our dinner florals were low and lush making for the perfect complimentary centerpieces to the mixed metal candelabras. The moody elements I wanted to include mostly stemmed from our unique floral centerpieces, dark wood chairs, worn silver, and gold details, and uplighting on the trees as well as string lights above. I really wanted our dinner to harness the feeling of a party from an almost Renaissance time period, with overflowing wine glasses, dripping candles, grapes, and fun upbeat music. Having one long table that sat all 60 of our guests definitely captured that vibe. Along with florals on the bar tops, we also had silver bowls with custom matchboxes- a favorite amongst our guests.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

Our wedding cake was beautifully made by Flour and Bloom, and was so stunning, that most of our guests thought it was fake! I wanted our wedding cake to be classic with a twist, so we opted for a square shape, and bas-relief details to tie in our theme. Sam and I both chose flavors for our cake, one tier was chocolate on chocolate, chosen by Sam and the other tier was vanilla cake with Meyer lemon curd and raspberry buttercream- a mixture of my favorite flavors.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

Our ceremony began with a welcome splash of champagne while a string quartet played modern music. As guests made their way to their seats, they were able to grab a custom fan and parasol umbrella to stay cool. Aside from our florals, my favorite design element from the ceremony was the runway-style seating. Sam walked down the aisle as the quartet played Ocean Eyes by Billie Eilish. Our wedding party proceeded to “To Build a Home” by Cinematic Orchestra, which was a surprise for Sam. I followed in my mom’s footsteps and had both of my parents walk me down the aisle. They walked out together and waited on each side of the aisle for me just like my grandparents did for her. I walked down alone until I met them at the start of the chairs, while “Young and Beautiful” by Lana Del Rey was playing. Our ceremony was officiated by our mutual best friend, so it was very heartfelt and funny. Everyone laughed and cried, including Sam and I. We read our personal vows during the ceremony, as we wanted our guests who have all been apart of our almost 12 year long relationship to feel included in the biggest part of our love story. While our wedding was not religious we included some elements of a traditional Jewish wedding, such as the stepping on the glass and horah dance. Our reception was definitely the main event of it all. I worked closely with our DJ to curate a night full of our favorite songs and we danced all night! We opted to not include any of the traditional wedding oldies and went full out on the 90s and early 2000s throwbacks and our favorite party songs. Sam and I did not leave the dance floor…not once. I did not even see what the rest of the room looked like!

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Each of our guests was given a welcome bag that was inclusive of a custom hat, tote, and some morning-after remedies to help ease the liquor and wine they would be consuming all weekend!

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

We had a content creator there on the wedding day (@VeilandVow.Co), and having iPhone footage of every moment, especially the small ones in between the big moments was so much fun to look at the next day!

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

Our wedding day was in between two incredibly fun events. The first is our Welcome Party for all of our guests at Ram’s Gate Winery. A lot of wine and a beautiful view was the perfect way to kick things off. Sunday morning brunch was not only amazing but definitely necessary. We hosted this on one of the lawns at MacArthur Place, with lots of food, and a little hair of the dog! It was the perfect way to see off all of our guests, and thank them again for traveling and being a part of our weekend.

A Newport Love Story: A Fusion of Style and History

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”The Inspiration”]

Our editorial photoshoot and exclusive preview event drew inspiration from the artful romance that permeates Newport, Rhode Island weddings. This historic destination seamlessly blends luxury with contemporary charm, creating a captivating fusion of styles. Inspired by the visionary works of Slim Aarons and Howard Cushing, our editorial transports you to the heart of a generational home in Newport, offering an intimate glimpse into the timeless allure of marrying in this storied city. We hope to spark imagination and excitement for couples considering Newport as their wedding destination. Newport exudes an unparalleled blend of historic charm and coastal elegance. By celebrating the bold and the vibrant, we also hope to inspire couples to infuse their special day with their unique personalities and stories, incorporating color, pattern, and texture to create as dynamic and unforgettable celebrations as they are.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]For this shoot, the color palette was carefully curated to evoke the liveliness and joy of spring, blending timeless elegance with playful vibrancy. We embraced soft, romantic pastels like blush pink, lavender, and buttery yellow, intertwined with bold emerald green, coral, and cobalt blue accents. These colors were chosen to reflect the feeling of a blooming garden, each shade complementing the next to create a harmonious yet dynamic visual story. The interplay of these hues, layered textures, and intricate patterns brought a sense of warmth and freshness to the scene, infusing every detail with a burst of life and creativity.[/field]
[field title=”The Venue”]Set amidst the newly unveiled Gardiner House, a luxury boutique waterfront hotel meticulously designed to embody the essence of Newport, our editorial unfolds as a jubilant celebration among lifelong friends. Laughter echoes through the halls adorned with exquisite art, martinis are expertly crafted, and tales of love, both ancient and newfound, intertwine, creating a vivid tableau of Newport’s enduring spirit of hospitality and joie de vivre.[/field]

Soft, grand millennial colors like muted pastels and floral prints echoed throughout the attire, offering a fresh take on nostalgic patterns. Delicate lace details, pearl embellishments, and bold statement jewelry added layers of refinement, weaving traditional elements into a modern narrative. [section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The aesthetic of this shoot and event was influenced by the grand millennial style, with twists of traditional and modern maximalist patterns and vibes. We wanted to design with a lot of color, pattern, and texture, evoking the feeling of being at an intimate dinner party in a historic Newport home, where every corner tells a story and every detail delights the senses. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant blooms and fresh hues of spring, we incorporated an abundance of florals, with lush arrangements in soft pastels and vivid brights that mirrored the season’s renewal and energy, adding layers of natural beauty to the overall design.[/field]
[field title=”Favorite Design Element”]There are so many favorite design elements, from incorporating the original artwork into the design, the florals, and linens to the stationery. One of my favorite design elements for this event was our custom candle, featuring artwork from Katie Fischer Design. The candle perfectly captured the essence of the shoot with its soft, elegant visuals and carefully chosen scent. We selected a blend of white tea and fig, which evoked a fresh yet warm aroma, adding a sensory layer to the experience. The candle served as a beautiful decorative piece and tied the whole design together, creating an intimate, inviting atmosphere that left a lasting impression on the guests.[/field]
[field title=”Tips To Pull Off The Look”]Here are some tips for pulling off a wedding or event design inspired by this grand millennial, old-world style:

1. Start with a Thoughtful Color Palette: Choose soft, timeless colors like blush, mint, and dusty blue mixed with bolder accents like emerald, coral, or gold. These hues will set a warm, nostalgic tone while feeling fresh and modern.

2. Incorporate Vintage-Inspired Fashion: Choose classic silhouettes like tailored suits, delicate lace dresses, or statement sleeves. But don’t forget to add your personal touch. Accessorize with vintage-inspired jewelry—think pearls, brooches, or heirloom pieces—to add a unique air of refinement and history to your look.

3. Use Florals to Elevate the Design: Lush, overflowing arrangements featuring classic spring blooms like peonies, roses, and hydrangeas will evoke a garden feel. Incorporate a mix of colors, textures, and greenery to add depth and dimension to your tablescapes and ceremony spaces.

Another key aspect of the grand millennial style is the art of balancing tradition with Modernity. Incorporate traditional elements like intricate china or crystal glassware, but give them a contemporary twist. Use bold patterns for linens, modern lighting fixtures, or sleek, minimalist furniture to create a dynamic blend of old and new in your event design.

5. Pay Attention to Details: The grand millennial style thrives on layers of detail. Think patterned wallpaper backdrops, embroidered napkins, and ornate, vintage-inspired stationery. These small touches, when personalized to your unique story, will help transport your guests to another time while keeping the event intimately connected to you.

When planning a grand millennial, old-world-inspired event, the choice of venue is paramount. Opt for spaces with historical charm, such as a stately home, garden estate, or restored inn. The architectural details of these venues—wood paneling, grand staircases, and manicured gardens—will naturally enhance your old-world vision and set the stage for a memorable event.

7. Add Personal Heirlooms: Your event is a canvas for your unique story. Incorporate meaningful, personal items such as family china, antique décor, or vintage fabrics passed down through generations. These heirloom touches will make your event feel intimate and full of your personal history, adding a significant layer to the grand millennial style.

8. Make It Feel Like an Elegant Dinner Party: Design your reception to feel like an intimate gathering at home, but with an added touch of sophistication. Use cozy seating areas, long banquet tables, and soft lighting to encourage conversation and a relaxed yet refined atmosphere.

By blending vintage inspiration with thoughtful, modern touches, you can create a wedding or event design that feels both classic and uniquely personal.[/field]

Bringing Blissful Summertime Vibes to Life at Willow Hill in Connecticut

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Green, Yellow, Pink, Lavender, Blue[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

From early on Maggie (bride) knew she wanted a large impact with color! Her love for summer is endless and we wanted to make sure that was brought forth in the design. Maggie told me (SKE) that her favorite colors were green and yellow. You will notice many green and yellow moments throughout Maggie and Chris’s entire wedding. A pop of yellow on their signage, and green toile linens from Peak Events, which also inspired their way in the invite design..Show-stopping yellow florals dancing across the Tuscan tables. Upon entry into the tent Stephanie King Events, dreamed up and executed a 14’ rounded bar where guests were greeted. The mink drapery paired with crystal chandeliers was one of a kind and a dreamy design! We wanted guests to feel less like sailcloth tents, and more like fine dining. The chunky wishbone chairs were a statement of their own and comfortable for guests to enjoy dinner in. The black and white checkered dance floor added a layer of fun to the high-end affair. There was thought in every single detail, and it all started with Maggie’s love for summer and color.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Chris had planned a date night with Maggie at her favorite restaurant, Strega, in the North End of Boston. The couple frequents this area for date nights to share their love of Italian food so this wasn’t out of the ordinary for them. After parking the car, Chris started to lead them in the opposite direction, getting closer to the Boston Harbor. They were eventually greeted by a friend who welcomed them onto one of his SailTime Boston boats. They set sail as the sun set over the harbor and Chris got down on one knee as two of Maggie’s best friends snuck up from the cabin to capture the moment with photography and videography. After sailing around and toasting champagne, Maggie was surprised by both her and Chris’s closest friends and family at Tuscan Kitchen in the Seaport for a night of celebrating their engagement!

Maggie found her wedding gown at L’elite Bridal in Boston- the gown was a luxe Ines Di Santo dress. Maggie changed into a stunning custom Bremelia mini that was designed from start to finish for her and her only! It featured a corset, intricate lace pearls, and tulle details and was truly perfect for dancing the night away.

The Filet Mignon that most guests enjoyed for dinner was mouth-watering and featured creme fraiche, potatoes, asparagus, onion rings, and a special OTM steak sauce.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The ceremony florals are what guests first see upon arrival. Wild Dahlia put her magic touch as colorful florals cascaded up the tree and aisle blooms brought color and happiness into the day. The signage and tent featured all the most colorful blooms that danced with the wind. The main tent entrance was draped with milk drape, greenery, and baskets of lush florals.

The night before was hosted in the Barn at Willow Hill. Close family and friends dined in the barn that featured fun sage green sofas, acrylic chairs, and fun floral printed linens. SKE wanted the night before to be a sneak into the day but not give too much away. There were small pops of what to expect the next day such as the cigar bar which had Maggie and Chris’s green toile print from their invites on the front, that were also the wedding day menu design. Bevi’s bar cart also had a pop of Maggie and Chris. Guests were handed signature drinks with a butterfly attached. The butterfly was featured in their invites custom drawn by Lexi Mayde.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]The espresso martini ice luge was a hit! This was a fun moment that added another layer of wow to their special day. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

With the bride’s collaboration, Wall to Wall Inc. and Stephanie King Events made Maggie’s signage dreams come true! The table numbers had a pearl opalescent shimmer to them which perfectly matched the flatware that was featured on the table! The pearl table number font and material, also made their own moment as a header for the seating chart, on the card box, and bar sign! As you could have guessed, yellow made its way into the napkins which featured the same monogram that was on the ice luge!

The silk, form-fitting halter design highlighted her silhouette beautifully, while the backless detail added an alluring, timeless touch. She paired the dress with Mach & Mach shoes, their signature sparkle elevating her look into a bold fashion statement. [/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]The bridesmaids wore deep green gowns from Park and Fifth, each dress uniquely styled to reflect their individual personalities while maintaining a cohesive look. The rich, earthy hue of the dresses provided a stunning contrast against the natural elements of the wedding, while the variety of styles—ranging from sleek and minimalist to soft and flowing—added depth and interest. [field title=”Food & Drink”]The food and drink experience was nothing short of extraordinary, perfectly complementing the September transition into fall. Held at Canoe, a renowned fine dining restaurant, the menu featured rich French onion soups and hearty short rib main courses, offering a comforting yet elevated taste of the season. The team at Canoe paid meticulous attention to every plate, ensuring that each dish was a work of art, both in flavor and presentation. Signature cocktails, including Aperol Spritz, Espresso Martini, and Mojito Rum, along with a refreshing mocktail, added an extra layer of flair, making the evening’s drinks as memorable as the food.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The florals and decor at Amelia and George’s wedding perfectly embodied their vision of minimalism, organic elegance, and modern sophistication. For the ceremony, two pedestals held large, lush white floral arrangements, setting a simple yet striking tone. The reception design continued this theme with moss and Ikebana vases as centerpieces, featuring small sculptural floral arrangements and moss patches, which brought a natural, earthy feel to the tablescape. The contrast of these delicate arrangements on dark wood tables highlighted the organic beauty of the moss and greenery, grounding the decor in nature. Seasonal white and green blooms, including anemones, sweet peas, tulips, and calla lilies, added texture and depth. Rentals featured white ceramic charger plates, black velvet napkins, and regal silver cutlery, creating a refined yet contemporary setting. The black and white illustrated stationery, accented with black velvet bows on the menus, added a touch of playful sophistication to the overall design.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The wedding cake was a simple yet elegant two-tier design, entirely white with a striking black bow. Its minimalist aesthetic perfectly complemented the overall theme of timeless sophistication with a modern twist.[/field]

Chic & Minimal Summer Wedding at Folktale Winery

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]White, creams, olive greens, sage greens, forest greens, moss, black, leather and tan accents[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The bride and groom are both local to the beautiful Monterey Peninsula and knew that they wanted to keep their celebration where their love story started. The bride dreamed of a minimally chic wedding that featured her culture, her fiances background in agriculture and their family memories. Long family style tables as a nod to her family’s Christmas gatherings, berries and vegetables hand drawn onto the menus and over 1,000 cookies all made the wedding truly feel like a fun yet formal family gathering.

For her aesthetic the. bride wanted the reception be inspired by the Big Sur coast line which was minimal but not stark. The flowers were carefully crafted to include grassy textures and simple white blooms. We knew we had to have a statement piece over the green bar which was large, overflowing and jaw-dropping! Our gingham and leather lounge pieces were the perfect finishing touches to make the reception feel comfortable and inviting. [/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]The bride (Francesca) and the groom (Sean) were both local to the area but didn’t meet until after high school at a local bar (which happened to be the after-party site). After reconnecting at Mulligan’s, they started dating shortly after. Sean proposed on Carmel Beach in December (adding to the special traditions the couple shares in December) and celebrate the whole holiday season amongst loved ones.[/field]

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]The bridesmaids were all given freedom to select their bridesmaids dress! They were encouraged to stay within the sage green palette but have fun with their style and pattern. Needless to say, we loved the way they all blended together. [/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The groom chose a light grey Samuelsohn tailored suit from Khakis of Carmel. To compliment the ladies, a sage green satin tie was chosen. He opted for a unique boutonnière that had petite white blooms and some green texture. [/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Guests were greeted with local sparkling wine upon arrival and perfect mini margherita pizza bites, artichoke beignets with a lemon aioli and a pork belly taco with scallino kimchi.

The full bar was always lively and featured wines made by the venues own winery and a local beer available from Alavarado Street Brewery.

For dinner, guests were treated to a two course meal with a seasonal endive salad with shaved pears and had a choice of pan roasted halibut, pepper crusted new york steak or an artichoke spinach risotto.

The real star of the show was the dessert which there was almost none left!

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Wilder Flowers (Jo Birns) did an outstanding job creating a very organic and textural feeling to all her pieces for Francesca and Sean. We kept the focus on the smaller details and wanted the flowers to really be minimal in nature allowing the setting and guest conversations to be the focus.

Many of the pieces were hand crafted the morning of the wedding. The showstopper piece was the stunning hanging piece above the bar and was perfectly offset by a terracotta pot arrangement with hanging amaranthus.

The centerpieces were delicate and primarily built in frog vessels with white petite blooms. Clear low ribbed votives and taper candles were scattered on tables to bring another layer of texture.

We crafted the brides organic vision by focusing on the use of terracotta pots and various forms of green texture. This was the opportunity to bring the Big Sur coastline into Carmel Valley and the Church.

The bridal and bridal party bouquets were built to be very cohesive and on the petite side. They allowed the various bridesmaids looks to shine through and not overwhelm the flowers.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Freedom Bakery supplied a sweetheart cake for just Sean and Francesca to cut which was made in a vintage style with thick piping and delicate writing. Guests had a choice of chocolate cake with bavarian cream or a white cake with salted caramel mousse.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]For the couples traditional church ceremony, they chose a pianist who played ‘What a Wonderful World’ and ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’ for her procession. The piano echoed in the intimate church creating a very calm, emotional and beautiful setting for the couple to say their lifelong vows.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Cookies con Amore supplied over 1,000 homemade Italian cookies as an homage to the Bride’s Italian heritage. These were extremely popular! The display featured raspberry linzers, italian lemon zest wedding cookies, nonna cookies, amaretti cookies and chocolate drop cookies. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]The brides family has a tradition of singing dancing queen every year on the Christmas Eve while cleaning the kitchen while using wooden spoons as their microphones. The bride surprised the mother of the bride by playing ‘Dancing Queen’ and we brought out wooden spoons for everyone to sing. IT WAS SUCH A BLAST and a memory of a lifetime.
[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]The menus were created specifically with the groom in mind. We worked with Aerlum to design a menu that featured berries as a nod to the groom who works in agriculture and with a keen eye for the meal indicators to naturally blend in with the menu. She hand painted berries on the menus and the meal indicators we chose were strawberry, blackberry and blueberry, each of which corresponded to the guests meal selection. [/field]

Effortless Summer Elegance at Rosewood Sand Hill in California

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]The overall wedding colors were based on the bride’s inspiration of a collection of 30 colors in a chart. We narrowed these down to a beautiful palette of soft, muted, yet not too dull pastels. Each bridesmaid wore a different color, perfectly melding into a transition from spring to summer, creating a harmonious yet playful visual effect together.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The couple envisioned a wedding that balanced elegance with a sense of intimacy, blending classic formal touches with modern elements. The vibe was playful and light, with soft pastel tones setting the stage. We wanted a very elegant vibe of effortless beauty, without being overly formal.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]On July 11th, 2022, Jacob and Meredith were traveling with her family when he got down on one knee along The Ring of Kerry – an incredibly scenic drive around the Iveragh Peninsula in Southwest Ireland. They are high school sweethearts, so they had been together for many years, and being surrounded by family made the moment all the more special.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Rosewood Sandhill is known for their food, especially having a Michelin stared restaurant associated to it, so the highlight of the wedding was definitely the cocktail reception and dinner. The couple chose this venue in part for its outstanding culinary offerings, knowing that the food would be exceptional. Their tasting experience confirmed this, setting high expectations for their guests. Along with the food experience, the couple chose three signature drinks, each with a special meaning. The bride took great care in selecting their drinks, representing herself and her future husband, as well as one named in honor of their dog, who couldn’t attend. The bride’s drink was chosen specifically based on color to complement the overall aesthetic, ensuring even the smallest details like straws, napkins, and garnishes were perfect. Meanwhile, the groom based his drink on flavor preferences. As the evening progressed, cake and late-night snacks were provided as a perfect end to the evening.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]As the couple was not local, they fell in love with Rosewood during a visit, based on it’s enchanting, modern, clean, and California vibes, tucked-away but conveniently located. The floral arrangements by Nicole Ha reflected this balance of simplicity and purpose. The bridesmaids carried smaller bouquets, while the bride’s bouquet was more elaborate, featuring soft white blooms with subtle greenery. The boutonnieres were styled to match the bouquets.
A favorite photo of the bride’s which showcased a bar surrounded by gorgeous garden-like florals was a real inspiration and the true catapult to the rest of the design, which started with the entryway floral display. This was designed to be a symbol of the wedding’s beginning, infused with the couple’s chosen colors and style. Florals throughout the venue were garden-inspired, with an organic, freshly grown look. Additionally, mirrors were used creatively for signage, a design element that the bride was particularly fond of. Wooden and linen accents also influenced the floral design, adding warmth and texture. [/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The cake, beautifully made by Studio Cake, was a perfect balance of style and flavor. The bride had a clear vision for the cake design, aligning it with her chosen color palette, ensuring it was as visually stunning as it was delicious.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]The ceremony itself was meaningful as it was officiated by the groom’s God Father/Pastor, who knew them well. They couple chose to have their own sweet personal moment, exchanging vows privately, while their ceremony was shared with some of their closest family and friends.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]One of the most heartwarming moments occurred during the speeches, when the bride’s grandmother unexpectedly took the floor. She presented the bride with a framed letter that she had written as a young girl, describing her future husband, a beautiful and nostalgic surprise.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]The wedding was an intimate affair, with only the couple’s closest family and friends in attendance. Many traveled from out of town, a testament to the deep connections the couple shares with their loved ones.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″] The couple’s love story began in high school, and their journey from childhood sweethearts to this day added an extra layer of sweetness and sentimentality to the celebration.[/field]
