A Wedding Palette Inspired by a Hampton Summer Sunset at Canoe Place

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]The color palette was inspired and based on a Hamptons Sunset in Summer.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

They wanted it to feel like the Hamptons in the summer, without any overt nautical vibes. The color palette was based on the sunset by the beach. The event began with the effortless feeling of being by the shore in the summer, and transitioned into romantic dinner party vibes. They didn’t want their reception to have a ballroom feel, so we added all the layers of fabric draping and rows and rows of candles and lamps to make it feel intimate and romantic. They wanted the dinner and dancing to feel cool, sexy, and fun. The dinner/dancing lighting and draping was probably the most important detail to the bride, Lexie, and we spent a lot of time creating something truly unique to that space.

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]They made sure to have a raw bar and lobster rolls during the cocktail hour as a nod to the shore and their love for seafood. Casamigos is their liquor of choice, so for one signature cocktail they did a paloma. For the second, they did a refreshing cucumber elderflower spritz. [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Flowers were very important to Lexie, and she wanted it to feel lush and bright for the ceremony and cocktail hour. They had a custom crest done which was used in their invitation and drink stir sticks. The petal bar at the ceremony was a mix of pastels florals in those sunset shades, and was a hit. Lexie loves feminine touches, and Love Shack Fancy is one of her favorite places to shop. You could find little touches of that aesthetic throughout – delicate wooden fans with silk pink bows on the ceremony chairs, custom napkins with a coupe tied with a bow, silk pink ribbons hanging from the ceremony chairs. The only nautical tie-in we did was to Canoe Place itself. Their seating chart featured hand lettering on hand painted canoe paddles. At the top they wrote “Canoe feel the love?” We used a vellum butterfly as a place card on each guest’s menu, as butterflies are special to Lexie and her mom.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The wedding cake was a beautiful white tiered cake with intricate details, nodding to Lexie’s love of feminine touches.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”][/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Lexie had a charm made for her bouquet that was in her grandmother’s handwriting. She surprised her mom with it while getting ready.
Connor’s brother, the best man, had a special fireman’s axe made for him to cut the cake, as Connor is a firefighter.[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Food and beverage were provided by the Canoe Place, including a signature cocktail named for the couple’s beloved pup – The “Martin-i”, and one named for their home in the city, “The 25th Street”.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Florals were designed by the incomparable Flowers by Justine. Her designs carried the color palette throughout the entire event, adding fresh pops of color to the interior of the venue, and blending seamlessly into the garden area, where the reception was held under the stars. Standing out in the midst of all of the incredible decor was the custom acrylic escort card display – which was made up of black and white polaroids of the guests throughout their years of knowing the couple. Guests were absolutely delighted, and spent time pouring over the images – even after finding their seat assignment!

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The wedding cake was a simple four-tiered, white fondant…with a little nibble on the side coming from an itty-bitty figure of Martin, the couple’s shitzu![/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”][/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]While Martin the shitzu was obviously a key player in the wedding day, escorting the bride down the aisle during the ceremony, he was tucked safely away in the couple’s ground level suite for the reception, giving him time to rest. But Martin had other plans. No way was he going to let mom and dad have their first dance without him!
While the bride, Mackenzie, and Groom, Matt, exited through the French doors of their suite to make their introduction at the reception, Martin snuck out right behind them, and scurried onto the dance floor just as the song for their first dance began![/field]

Casual Hampton Bays Beach Engagement

This love sesh from Kelsey Combe Photography is a winner in my book. It’s a mash-up of a handful of personal favorites: the beach, Harpoon brews, s’mores, acoustic tunes and of course, snuggles in a cozy blanket. It’s one that’ll warm your heart and make your eyes twinkle a little brighter with love.

Casual

From Kelsey Combe PhotographyWe just love meeting couples at their engagement shoots- especially when we get to travel to somewhere very special to them. Emily & Ben spend the happiest parts of their lives on the beach- surfing, sunning, & paddle-boarding with their pup Holly. So when they invited us out to Hampton Bays for a casual, bonfire, beach engagement (complete with s’mores and beers), how could we not be thrilled? It was a cool & extremely hazy May evening and we had a wonderful time getting to know them around the fire. Emily & Ben’s love is infectious- I mean, the pictures speak for themselves. I just love the way she looks at him. And there is nothing that compares to a warm fire on the shores of the Ocean. This session feels free & crisp, like early summer, which is exactly what it was.

Glamorous Hamptons Party

A gathering of some of the Hamptons’ most talented vendors all set against the breathtaking backdrop better known as the Wölffer Estate: this, my loves, is one seriously awesome party.  It’s the gorgeous stylings of Sofia Crokos and Roy Braeger with yummy treats from Sonnier & Castle and one stunning image after another from Belathee Photography.  See them all here.

From Belathee Photography… On July 19th, the Hamptons was treated to a special evening celebrating the elite talent that makes events on the East End so legendary. The most in-demand local vendors in event design, along with taste-making leaders in interior design, real estate, restaurateurs, and the social scene, gathered at Wölffer Estate Vineyard to welcome the newest talent to make a permanent home out east, event planner Sofia Crokos. In addition, a select group of vendors, including Sofia, were asked to personally shape the evening’s experience.  Creating “An Evening Of Visual Splendor,” invitations hinted at the celebration to come with shimmering summer tones and a playful circular design, courtesy of Red Bliss Design. Wölffer Estate was transformed into an enchantingly elegant space, where Sofia, along with event designer Roy Braeger played up the vineyard’s natural charm with billowing flags, studded lights, and vibrant tones of turquoise with glittering gold accents. Luminous Designs provided a lighting display that conjured a reflection of the starry night sky. Caterer Sonnier & Castle designed a colorfully seasonal menu from ingredients sourced from local farms. The entertainment, designed by Elan Artists, featured a lively French Jazz ensemble, complete with dancers. Guests toasted the night with a selection of wines from Wölffer Estate, along with custom cocktails from Pavan Liqueur and Avion’s Espresso Tequilla. Belathee Photography captured the evening’s most memorable moments.

Shelter Island, New York Wedding from Kate Osborne Photography

The images sitting in this gallery from Kate Osborne Photography are nothing short of art. Beautiful works of art that left me speechless and aching for more from the moment I laid eyes on them. There simply aren’t words pretty enough to describe how I feel about just how gorgeous this seaside soiree is, but you can see for yourself right here.

From Kate Osborne PhotographyNadine and David had a beautiful beachside wedding on Shelter Island New York. Nadine and David had friends and family fly in from across the world from England and Brazil to celebrate with them. Nadine is from England with a Chinese/American heritage and David grew up all over the globe. They met in the states and decided to have the wedding in the beautiful Hamptons. The night was filled with a mix of culture, languages, food and celebration. It was a simple yet beautiful day as friends and family all gathered together on this charming island to celebrate such an amazingly kind and beautiful couple.
