An Easy, Breezy North Fork Garden Wedding in Soft Coastal Hues

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

We chose a soft, coastal-inspired palette of ivory, lavender, and sky blue. The combination felt light, bright, and effortlessly happy, exactly the way we feel every time we’re on the North Fork. Those colors carried through every detail, from the floral arrangements to the linens and stationery.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Our vision was to bring the effortless beauty of the North Fork to life through a design that felt fresh and timeless. We wanted guests to feel like they were part of an elegant garden party by the sea—easy, breezy, and fun. A tented reception allowed the natural surroundings to shine, while thoughtful details like custom monogrammed pillows and coastal-inspired stationery tied everything together seamlessly.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Jack proposed on a typical North Fork weekend, a place that has always been special to our families. We had spent the day at the beach at my family’s home, and then had drinks at one of our favorite spots, the beach bar at The Halyard. Just as the sun began to set, he led me down to the water. There, with the waves rolling in, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was exactly what I had envisioned and perfectly “us,” a moment full of love that set the tone for everything that followed.

I wore an Amsale gown exclusive to their NYC boutique, and the moment I tried it on, I knew it was the one. The timeless silhouette and delicate detailing captured everything I wanted—classic, romantic, and effortlessly elegant. Once the veil was added, both my mom and I teared up—it was such a special and emotional moment. I completed the look with Badgley Mischka heels that felt feminine and fun. For my party dress, I wore a Clio Peppiatt mini dress with Loeffler Randall platform heels, perfect for dancing the night away!

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Our bridesmaids wore dresses in soft complementary tones that echoed our coastal color palette. The mix of fabrics and silhouettes gave a fresh, natural feel that looked beautiful against the North Fork backdrop.[/field]

Jack and his groomsmen looked so handsome in their custom midnight navy tuxedo from Indochino. We always envisioned a black-tie celebration, and his look struck the perfect balance between timeless and modern. For the rehearsal dinner, he wore a light green plaid Bonobos jacket that perfectly matched his eyes, a playful nod to his personality and our summer setting.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]We wanted dinner to feel fresh and local, inspired by the flavors of the North Fork. Guests enjoyed a menu featuring seasonal produce and local seafood, paired with regional wines that highlighted the area’s vineyards. Instead of a traditional cake, we served mini desserts, a nostalgic twist that everyone loved.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

True Elizabeth Florals designed the most beautiful arrangements in shades of ivory, lavender, and sky blue. The florals felt airy and organic, perfectly complementing the coastal setting. Julie King Studios brought everything together through custom stationery and a bespoke monogram that appeared throughout the day. From the invitations to the embroidered lounge pillows, it added a personal touch that carried through the entire day.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

We opted out of a traditional wedding cake and served MoonPies for dessert instead! It was such a fun and unexpected choice that reflected our playful side. Guests absolutely loved it, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable parts of the night.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

The ceremony music was kept classic and romantic, setting the perfect tone for the seaside celebration. Done by my late Aunt Maura’s music company, and the perfect way to tie her into the celebration. Our reception band, Sound Society, was so much fun and kept the dance floor packed all night long. They never skipped a beat!

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Our custom monogram was one of our favorite design elements—it first appeared on our invitations and carried through to coasters, programs, and even embroidered pillows in our lounge space. It added such a personal and cohesive touch to the entire day.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

We wanted our guests to experience the North Fork the same way we do, so the entire weekend was designed around our favorite local spots. From the rehearsal dinner to the welcome party, every moment was infused with meaning and connection to the place we love most.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

Having my mom as part of the planning process made everything even more special. She has such an incredible eye for design, and creating this day together was a true labor of love. Seeing it all come to life exactly as we had imagined was the sweetest feeling.

From Texas to New York: Another SWIPE RIGHT Success Story

Jacob and I met on none other than TINDER when the app was in its infancy. We knew from the moment we ‘swiped right’ that something special was in the air and have been inseparable ever since we locked eyes! Jacob proposed to me at our home in Dallas in the most perfect, intimate, profession of love surrounded by our fur babies (and lots of wagging tails) – as I like to joke, who would have thought that TINDER could have sparked such a wildfire!! ~from the Bride

Bedell Cellars Winery is such a fantastic location complete with vineyard, orchard and even cypress-like trees that make you feel like you have been transported to a piece of Italian country side. Alexandra and Jacob did an absolutely phenomenal job planning their destination wedding from Dallas, Texas. ~W Studios New York

From the Bride… Growing up on the North Shore of Long Island, having my immediate family still residing there and having guests traveling from Texas, Missouri and Florida to celebrate with us made New York an obvious destination for our intimate wedding. Planning such a momentous occasion from cross-country can certainly be challenging, but thankfully I had my wonderful mother, step father and sister ready to venue visit and taste test for us at a moments notice!

Bedell Cellars was one of the first places that met all of our search criteria and I knew right away from the feelings their website instilled upon me that this was “the one.” Upon first visit this was confirmed. We were all totally in love with everything about the beautiful vineyard- from the huge oak tree under which we would profess our vows, to the vines of gorgeous grapes that made the most memorable backdrop- everything about it was just picturesque and I could envision our big day exactly as I wanted it. The vineyard perfectly fit with the modern, boho-chic vibe I knew we were going for.

The day-of was so much more magical than I ever had imagined it would be, with each detail flowing together so perfectly. Our guests were taken on a whimsical journey as they walked underneath the ivy covered arbor, through the flower garden and into the apple orchard, where the ceremony would take place under a towering Oak (wrapped in a huge blanket of flowers.) Afterwards they were escorted to a breezy cocktail hour on the vines where the eye catching floral chalkboard bar, unbelievable hors d’oeuvres and a few games of bean bag toss made all of our guest feel right at home. Finally, into the veranda for dinner and dancing where tons of twinkling lights, long farm tables, flowers stretching as far as the eye could see and subtle shining gold details made my heart flutter.

My favorite flower, the tropical Protea, and soft pink locally grown Dahlias were the star of our floral arrangements– put together by the masterful Sag Harbor Florists. Guests danced the night away under the stars and dined on a delectable passed dinner of filet mignon and sushi tuna (which I have been dreaming about for months) until we were all about to pop! All of the food was curated by the absolutely wonderful Lexi and Louisa of Hamptons Aristocrat.

Then to top it all off Sag Harbor Baking Company tied it together with the most classy raspberry and lemon “naked cake” that I could have imagined! After tons of dancing, the Hora, limbo (which resulted in a few pairs of ripped pants) and lots of tear filled speeches, all of the guests were escorted out to the food truck in the parking lot and given gooey grilled cheese sandwiches and sparklers while they waited for Jacob and me to make an extra memorable exit!

Being a jewelry designer and the owner of Moon Haus Designs, I thought there would be no more special way to honor each of my bridesmaids than to hand make them each a one of a kind Moonstone ring! We are also big advocates of responsible beekeeping and decided to gift each of our guests with a small bottle of local Long Island honey (provided by Bedell Cellars) to take home – save the bees!

Our entire day was documented in the most magnificent way by the photographers at W Studios, Stephen and his wife Yuliya were a dream to work with and our final pictures are just more than we could’ve ever imagined. We also had a fabulous video created by AJ Ingoglia Films to relive each moment again and again! The whole day was one we will look back on for the rest of our lives and cherish, thank you to our wonderful parents and vendors who made this all possible!

Say Yes to the…Venue!

You know that feeling everyone talks about when they’ve found THE dress? This bride had it when she came upon the oak tree at Bedell Cellars in Long Island’s North Fork. Standing there, she knew it was where she would say “I do” to the love of her life, and the picturesque spot set the tone for the entire day. Hamptons Aristocrat enhanced the rustic elegance of the vineyards, choosing a neutral color palette and leafy green arrangements created by Sag Harbor Florist, for a natural beaut’ photographed by Lindsay Madden that we can’t get enough of!

From the Bride… Ryan and I met 10 years ago on one of our first days of college. After almost nine years of dating and two-and-a-half years of planning our wedding, the one thing that continually inspired us throughout the process was wanting to plan the absolute best party for our guests that had been with us throughout our relationship. We kept our friends and family in the forefront of our decisions knowing that this is a one-of-a-kind occasion where you have everyone that you love most – both sides of the family and friends from every stage of life – in the same room.

One of the first decisions we made was choosing Bedell Cellars as our venue. I spent my summers in Long Island and can remember visiting the North Fork vineyards with my parents and grandparents from a young age, so I knew that the location would be the North Fork. We visited a lot of vineyards, but the first time I saw the oak tree at Bedell, I knew that was where I would get married. The feeling that most brides have when they try on their wedding dress is the exact way I felt when I stood there.

Everything that came after was a direct reflection of the natural beauty and rustic space that Bedell offers. We chose blush, green, and white as our colors, not only because they’re my favorites, but because they perfectly highlighted the space without taking away from it. Aside from the French country inspired centerpieces, candles were placed all over the pavilion, and they added the best warm, twinkle of light in all of our pictures!

Planning a wedding taking place on Long Island while living in Boston during my last year of law school and studying for the bar exam started to feel like a destination wedding! I knew that one of the most important things was having vendors that I could rely on and that would work seamlessly together. My wedding planner, Jessi, was second to none! Without Jessi (and my mom) the night certainly wouldn’t have come together like it did. She has an eye for every last detail, the most helpful tips, and is such a calming presence when things get crazy! Hamptons Aristocrat provided the most amazing food and unique service that you can get at a wedding. The Dylan Matthews Band from Hank Lane was an absolute highlight for us and our guests. Absolutely everyone was on the dance floor the whole night! It was amazing seeing all of our guests having such a blast! Lindsay Madden and Kristen Kiraly captured our day in pictures and on video in a way that will make sure that we never forget a single moment – even the moments that we didn’t get to witness ourselves. We couldn’t be more grateful to have every emotional, sentimental, and hilarious moment to look back on. If there is one piece of advice I would give all brides its to go with your gut when choosing your vendors. I picked all of mine based off of the feeling I got during the initial phone calls and definitely didn’t go wrong with any of them! When you can trust your vendors, you’re able to enjoy the planning process so much more. Instead of getting caught up in every last detail, I knew I could rely my vendors to guide me in the right direction, and I was able to enjoy every last second of our wedding. It truly was the best day ever!

From the Bride… It was the summer before we got engaged. Jon and I took a weekend trip to the North Fork, where we stopped at a winery called Bedell Cellars. We were immediately blown away by its beauty. Sitting on the deck–which, incidentally, would become the site of our first dance two years later–and enjoying a glass of wine, we took in the gorgeous views of the vineyard–and knew this was where we would be married. And within days of getting engaged, we booked the venue. What we loved most about having a wedding at Bedell was the fact that we didn’t need to do much, because the venue spoke for itself. We chose a muted color palette to let the natural colors of the vineyard and the gardens shine. We included pops of pink peonies and garden roses (thanks to Karen Lenahan Designs) to add some color, and hung string lights throughout the pavilion and tent, but that was about the extent of it; we kept everything else simple.

Riva at Bedell, Daria of Daria Culver Events and Leslie at Marcey Brownstein Catering and Events made planning my wedding a pleasure rather than a stressor; they are all incredible people to work with. The only thing we actually needed to worry about about was the weather on the big day. On the morning of, we woke up to the sun shining, and knew everything was going to be absolutely perfect. Jon and I had the best time getting ready with our parents and bridal party, and our first look was picture-perfect (thanks to Lindsay Madden Photography). Nothing could have been better–seeing all our loved ones in one beautiful place; feasting on fantastic food, wine, and cocktails; enjoying the stunning sunset, followed by an epic dance party (thanks to the Joel Young Band)- our wedding was, beyond a doubt, the best day of our lives.

Colorful Summer Wedding at Bedell Cellars

I’m kind of dying of the color explosion that is this wedding beautifully captured by W Studios New York. With a plethora of happy hues inspired by the bridesmaid dresses from Liza Emanuele this bright and cheery Bedell Cellars Winery is the definition of vibrant. Sprinkle in some classic elegance, and ladies and gents, we have a winner. See even more in the VAULT.

From W Studios New YorkGeorgie is one design savvy bride. The minute I saw she had picked Australian designer Liza Emanuele dresses for her bridesmaids, I knew every detail of the wedding would be phenomenal. The dresses were the inspiration for the color pallet of the entire day with pinks and greens reflected in the centerpieces, ceremony programs, and menus. Every detail was so thoughtful from the framed chalkboard signs displaying the drinks and dessert options, to the long tables the couple used to make the space feel more intimate for the guests, many of whom came from Australia for the celebration. Even the staff wasn’t forgotten, my favorite detail of the evening were the custom “Nick & Georgie” aprons the staff wore while preparing the space and serving hors d’oeuvres and dinner.

From The Bride…I was really after a laid back, rustic look for my wedding to compliment the natural beauty of Bedell Cellars. As soon as we saw Bedell we knew it would be perfect for us – we loved the flow of having the ceremony in the leafy orchard, being near the vines for cocktail hour and then into the beautiful pavilion for dinner and dancing.

I found the bridesmaids dresses first in Australia, so the color scheme was born from them. I loved the bright pinks and greens in the dresses and felt it fit in perfectly with the setting at Bedell. A lot of the details we did ourselves (or with the help of artistic friends and family!) from the window pane table setting, to the wine cork table numbers. We had an antique silver rose bowl as the flower center piece on the wedding party table which was a family heirloom.

We had some Australian touches like our favorite Aussie chocolates and the jerseys of our local Australian Football Team from our hometown and even an Australian Rules Football came out on the dance floor! Nick loves collecting matches from NYC restaurants, so he insisted on having matches which was a fun item for everyone to take home.

Nick and I have been together for a long time, so we really just wanted to celebrate the opportunity to be with family and friends. With so many people traveling for the wedding (over 90 people traveled from Australia alone including my 83 year old Grandma!) everyone was well and truly up for a party – the dance floor was packed all night!

We couldn’t have asked for a better day – the weather was absolutely perfect and the stunning setting at Bedell Cellars meant everyone had such a memorable night.
