Soft Yellow Runners and Glowing Candlelight in a Timeless Los Cabos Wedding

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

A romantic and chic palette inspired by the warmth of sunshine. The design featured layered yellow tones — from soft butter to pastel lemon — paired with fresh greenery and touches of white through elegant calla lilies. The combination created a sophisticated and joyful atmosphere, blending modern elegance with natural charm. The result was a luminous celebration that felt effortlessly timeless under the Cabo sun.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The overall design was a romantic and sophisticated collaboration between Destination Weddings Los Cabos, Cabo Flowers and Cakes (wedding design by Bibiana Santana), and the bride’s mother, Robin Johnson. The vision was to create an intimate and elegant celebration that felt timeless and refined — from the ceremony to the reception. For the ceremony, the design featured a sophisticated setup with two floral pillars framing the altar, creating a stunning yet understated focal point. Along the aisle, delicate floral arrangements were placed on the floor, adding texture and color without overpowering the natural beauty of the surroundings. The overall look was clean, romantic, and gracefully minimal, letting the florals and soft yellow palette shine. For the reception, two long rectangular tables served as head tables for the guests, complemented by a sweetheart table exclusively for the couple. Soft pastel yellow runners draped elegantly to the floor, adding a touch of understated luxury to the tablescape. The ambiance glowed with pillar candles in glass cylinders, taper candles in delicate holders, and hurricanes that cast a warm, romantic light across the space. Between the candles, clusters of yellow and white blooms added texture and freshness. Elegant details tied everything together — table numbers and menus with gold accents, and personalized place cards lovingly created by the bride herself. The result was a space that felt intimate, luminous, and beautifully balanced between romance and sophistication.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Shana and Kedrian’s love story began in the most modern way — through mutual friends on social media — yet it instantly felt timeless. Both share a deep commitment to helping others through their work in the healthcare field, and their connection was built on kindness, empathy, and purpose. What started as a simple conversation quickly blossomed into a bond grounded in shared values and mutual admiration. They both come from families with African roots, and their deep respect for their culture and heritage became a meaningful thread in their relationship — a reminder of where they come from and what they hope to build together. For Kedrian, love was something he thought might never return. After a difficult past relationship, he had quietly accepted that perhaps his chance at lasting love had passed. But when he met Shana, everything changed. Her warmth, grace, and genuine spirit reminded him that love can be healing, powerful, and perfectly timed. From that moment on, they both knew — they had found the person they were meant to walk through life with.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Shana’s wedding gown was the perfect blend of timeless elegance and modern allure. She wore a stunning satin mermaid dress that hugged her silhouette beautifully, creating a sophisticated and romantic look. The gown featured off-the-shoulder sleeves that framed her neckline with effortless grace, while delicate sheer panels along the waist and back added a subtle touch of sensuality.

The combination of soft satin and structured tailoring gave the dress an ethereal glow under the Cabo sunlight — classic yet undeniably captivating. Every detail reflected Shana’s personality: confident, graceful, and effortlessly chic.[/field]

The bridesmaids looked absolutely radiant in mustard-yellow satin gowns, designed in a sleek, elegant silhouette that perfectly complemented the romantic palette of the day. Each dress featured delicate feather detailing across the bust, adding a touch of texture and high-fashion flair inspired by modern African elegance. The rich mustard hue brought warmth and sophistication, glowing beautifully under the Cabo sun. The color highlighted each bridesmaid’s natural beauty, creating a stunning visual harmony that felt both vibrant and refined. Together, their look was a perfect reflection of the wedding’s essence — joyful, elegant, and deeply connected to culture and celebration.

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Kedrian looked effortlessly sophisticated in a white satin tuxedo jacket paired with classic black trousers, a black bow tie, and polished black shoes. The contrast of crisp white against deep black created a timeless and refined look — modern yet rooted in tradition.

The satin finish of the jacket caught the light beautifully, echoing the subtle sheen of the décor and Shana’s gown. It was the perfect ensemble for a groom whose style reflected confidence, grace, and understated luxury. Side by side, Shana and Kedrian embodied modern elegance — a perfect balance of warmth, romance, and timeless style.[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

The dinner was designed to feel warm, inviting, and full of connection — a family-style dining experience that encouraged guests to share, savor, and celebrate together. The menu was a beautiful expression of modern Mexican cuisine with a refined coastal touch, perfectly curated to reflect the couple’s love for flavor and togetherness. Guests enjoyed a trio of starters that set the tone for the evening: a classic Caesar salad with tomato marmalade, crispy garlic, and avocado dressing; a refreshing Guaca-Ceviche of sea bass, avocado, and chile serrano served with crispy tostadas; and flavorful Crispy Birria Tacos filled with stewed brisket, tomatillo salsa, and avocado mousse. The main dishes — Adobo Roasted Hen with arugula pesto and organic baby vegetables, a Pork Tomahawk with mango-habanero chutney and gingered sweet potato, and Pit-Roasted Lamb “Barbacoa” with garbanzo purée and drunken sauce — were served to share, allowing everyone to taste and enjoy each creation. A build-your-own ice cream bar brought a playful close to the meal, featuring flavors like strawberry basil, Mexican chocolate, butter pecan, and vanilla with a variety of sweet toppings and syrups. The service was exceptional — the venue ensured that every dietary restriction and allergy was handled with care, creating a seamless and joyful dining experience for every guest. The celebration also featured a five-hour open bar with a curated selection of premium spirits, wine, and beer, plus refreshing non-alcoholic options. The couple’s signature cocktail, “La Luna,” — a bright blend of Altos Silver Tequila, Aperol, lemon juice, mango purée, and soda — captured the golden warmth of the Cabo sunset. For non-drinkers, pitchers of pineapple lemonade offered a sweet and tropical alternative. To end the night on the sweetest note, Shana and Kedrian cut into a three-tier cake featuring Vanilla Bean and Lemon layers, filled with lemon buttercream, and finished with white frosting and delicate pearl details — the perfect balance of elegance and joy.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The floral design was a breathtaking expression of romance and sophistication — blending vibrant yellows, soft buttery tones, delicate whites, and airy baby’s breath for texture and movement.

For the ceremony, two asymmetrical floral pillars framed the altar in a graceful half-moon composition. The arrangement on Shana’s side stood slightly lower, while the one on Kedrian’s side reached higher — symbolizing balance and unity. Along the aisle, low floral arrangements in the same palette lined the walkway, complementing the light brown cross-back chairs that added a natural, elegant warmth to the setting.

During cocktail hour, the venue’s high-top tables were styled with petite floral touches that tied seamlessly into the day’s palette. A refined seating chart and a guest book table adorned with fresh blooms welcomed guests into the evening’s celebration with timeless charm.

For the reception, the ceremony florals were thoughtfully repurposed at the sweetheart table, creating a natural focal point filled with color, depth, and texture. Two long king tables anchored the reception design, draped in pastel yellow runners that cascaded gracefully to the floor.

The tablescape was illuminated by a soft glow of candles in various heights — pillar and taper — in shades of yellow and ivory, creating a warm, romantic ambiance. Each place setting featured beige plates from the venue, layered with yellow-and-white napkins that draped elegantly between them. Gold-accented menus and table numbers added a subtle touch of luxury, while handmade place cards crafted by the bride herself gave every seat a personal, heartfelt detail.

The celebration took place by the poolside, where candlelight reflected off the shimmering water. Floating florals drifted gently across the surface, mirroring the surrounding arrangements and adding a dreamy, ethereal finish to the night — the perfect reflection of a love that glowed from within.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

For Shana and Kedrian, the cake was more than just dessert — it was a meaningful centerpiece that reflected their timeless elegance and shared love for life’s sweetest moments. Designed with three classic tiers, the cake featured alternating layers of Vanilla Bean and Lemon, filled with a delicate lemon buttercream that added a fresh, citrusy note perfect for the warm Baja evening. The white frosting was adorned with cascading pearl-like details, adding a soft touch of glamour, while subtle floral accents in yellow, ivory, and baby’s breath tied the design seamlessly into the day’s romantic color palette. Set upon a simple wooden table surrounded by lush greenery, the cake stood out beautifully against the backdrop of glowing candlelight and florals. The couple shared a formal cake-cutting moment, one of their favorite highlights of the night, as guests gathered around to celebrate. It marked the perfect transition from heartfelt traditions to the joyful start of the party, when the dance floor opened, and the celebration truly came alive.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Music played a huge part in Shana and Kedrian’s celebration — it was the heartbeat of the night. The couple wanted the soundtrack of their wedding to reflect their African roots and shared love for soulful, joyful rhythms, and finding the right DJ was essential.

After connecting with DJ Barra, their worries melted away. His flexibility, deep musical knowledge, and effortless ability to read the crowd made him the perfect fit. From the ceremony to the last dance, every beat felt intentional and full of emotion.

DJ Barra not only curated the music but also acted as MC for the evening, guiding guests through heartfelt speeches and smooth transitions. The energy was contagious — guests danced non-stop, smiles filled the dance floor, and the atmosphere was electric.

One of the most memorable moments came when Kedrian surprised Shana by singing a song just for her, a tender gesture that had everyone in tears. Later, he shared a touching dance with the bride’s mother — a moment that perfectly captured the warmth, connection, and joy that defined this unforgettable celebration.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

One of the most meaningful and visually striking moments of Shana & Kedrian’s celebration was the incorporation of a hand-crafted broom that honored their shared heritage and celebrated the beginning of their married life together. Rooted in West African and African-diaspora traditions, the so-called “jumping the broom” ceremony is a symbolic act that represents sweeping away the past, cleansing old chapters, and stepping into a new life together. At the ceremony, with one broom placed just behind the couple and held by the maid of honor and the groomsman, Shana and Kedrian faced the altar, turned, and jumped together over that broom — marking the moment they formally crossed the threshold into their shared future. Following the jump, they were pronounced husband and wife, sealed their union with a kiss, and made their triumphant exit together. It was a visual and emotional highlight — not just a photo-op, but a ritual deeply tied to identity, culture, and intention. The broom became a keepsake of their promise, their roots, and their joyful leap forward.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Another moment that stole everyone’s hearts was Shana’s first look with her nieces. As an only sister, these three little girls hold a very special place in her life — they’re her lucky charms, her “little tribe.” Though the wedding was an adults-only affair, there was never a question about whether they’d be part of the day. Dressed in soft yellow satin dresses with delicate bows and matching braids, the girls covered their eyes as Shana approached in her gown. When they finally saw her, their excitement and awe filled the room. It was a tender, emotional moment that perfectly captured the joy and innocence of family love.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

Shana and Kedrian shared an intimate first look of their own, away from the guests, where they exchanged private vows and meaningful gifts. They wanted to give each other something symbolic rather than extravagant — a gesture filled with intention and connection. Shana gifted Kedrian a vintage-inspired Citizen watch, identical to one worn by his late grandfather — a deeply personal touch that honored family legacy. In return, Kedrian surprised her with a gold necklace featuring a pendant inspired by traditional African symbolism, representing strength, unity, and eternal love. It was an exchange that spoke volumes about who they are as a couple — rooted in culture, guided by faith, and grounded in love.

Horse-Drawn Carriages and Castle Views in the French Countryside

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”] Pale blue, blush pink, butter yellow and light green[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Elegant, dreamy, whimsical. Our wedding took place in the French countryside, just two hours from our home in Paris. The weekend began with a Friday welcome dinner at Simon’s family’s maison de campagne, complete with horse-drawn carriage rides and local cider. On Saturday, our ceremony and reception took place at Château des Feugerets, a 16th-century castle in the region. Brunch on Sunday was also at the château. Spending an entire weekend celebrating with all the people we love in one place was pure magic.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]We were on vacation in Milos, Greece, when Simon said he’d planned dinner—but instead of a restaurant, the taxi dropped us at a tiny port where a man was waiting to take us to a beach only accessible by boat. When he left, we were alone as far as the eye could see. Simon laid out a picnic he had brought from a local taverna, and then asked me to marry him. We swam, ate, and drank wine until the boat returned, and the driver—who had been in on it the whole time—was grinning ear to ear. We still joke that Simon would have left me stranded on that beach if I’d said no.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]

As someone who works in the fashion industry, the gowns were especially meaningful to me. For our Friday night welcome, I wore Jacquemus’s “Robe Draggiu” from his FW ‘22 collection, paired with Castañer espadrilles and Pacharee keshi pearl earrings. For the wedding day, Printemps Mariage helped me source my dream Danielle Frankel gown—an off-the-shoulder silhouette with a low back and elongated sleeves that felt timeless and modern at once. I wore it with low Charles & Keith heels and an Oscar de la Renta veil, sent by a close friend as my “something borrowed.” For the afterparty, I changed into a short red Giambattista Valli x H&M dress I had purchased years earlier after interviewing Mr. Valli. It was a bold choice, but the perfect one for dancing late into the night.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]I chose not to have bridesmaids but asked my closest friends to wear pastels so we would coordinate in photos. My nieces, who served as flower girls, wore matching dresses from the Scandi brand By Malina, complete with flower crowns and baskets of pale pink rose petals.[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]

Simon wore a bespoke suit by Samson sur mesure and knew exactly what he wanted: a deep blue, double-breasted wool paired with a crisp white shirt. Inside the jacket, they stitched our initials and the wedding date.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

We wanted the menu to highlight French cuisine and worked with the amazing caterers at Gauthier Traiteur. Before the ceremony, guests were welcomed with Champagne and lemonade, while cocktail hour featured summery signature drinks—an Elderflower Spritz and a Mojito—alongside passed hors d’oeuvres and stations serving oysters, foie gras, and crêpes. Dinner began with a stuffed tomato, followed by a choice of duck confit or roasted salmon.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Our floral design was inspired by the wedding art my friend Rachelle Cunningham painted for us. I shared it with Cassia of Be One Paris, who brought it to life in fresh flowers, adding a touch of deep purple and an abundance of orchids. We also carried the artwork into details such as the menus, table numbers, cocktail napkins, and custom matchbooks. The overall décor drew from the romance of our venue—a 16th-century castle in Normandy—and its surrounding countryside, creating a look that felt both lush and elegant.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]We skipped a traditional wedding cake in favor of the classic French croquembouche—a tower of cream-filled choux held together with caramel. When we arrived at the afterparty, it was literally aflame: covered in sparklers and topped with a very questionable bride-and-groom figurine. To this day, we still have no idea where it came from! What could have been a disaster became one of the night’s funniest moments.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

Our ceremony was deeply personal. My brother and Simon’s sister co-officiated, he in English, hshein French, while my nieces and nephews were our flower girls and ring bearer. Friends read scripture and a poem by e. e. cummings, and Simon’s aunt—who makes violins—arranged for a musician to play the cello. At dinner, Simon’s father and my mom gave heartfelt speeches. Having our people so involved made the whole day feel intimate and joyful.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Our Welcome Dinner: We hosted our welcome event on Friday at Simon’s family’s house in Normandy. The setting is straight out of a fairy tale. We skipped a seated dinner in favor of a relaxed evening where everyone could mingle and get to know one another. We even had our neighbor, who owns To Biguine, arrive with his Percheron-horse-drawn carriage to take guests up the hill for the most breathtaking sunset view. It was the perfect start to the weekend.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

Our First Dance: In the weeks leading up to the wedding, we took dance lessons with Marc Reed, a fellow American in Paris—and it was the best idea. Amid all the planning and details, having an hour to do something new together was pure fun. Our song was You Send Me by Aretha Franklin, and our friends and family went absolutely mad for the choreography, shouting and hollering. It set the tone for the night and set off a dance party that lasted into the early hours.

An Italian Holiday-Inspired Wedding with Lush Tropical Details

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The bride curated a vibrant mood board overflowing with color, and once I saw the venue, it was clear that orange, reflecting her favorite hotel brand (GHT), had to be a must. With the reception set among banana trees, the color palette and floral arrangements naturally evolved into a lush, tropical-inspired celebration.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The design reflects the character of the space—we always strive to honor the venue rather than change it. As a company, we believe that when people travel far to experience Italy, the decor should highlight its beauty. The lake became the natural focal point and backdrop, while the bride’s infectious joy inspired a vibrant take on the Italian dolce vita. With no shade in the area, we embraced a playful trend of umbrellas to evoke the feeling of an Italian holiday. Every detail, from table linens to florals, was curated to create the illusion that the tables were already part of the space, seamlessly blending design with the surroundings.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

In the summer of 2023, Peyton and I both found ourselves back in Atlanta after years away. He had just returned from Boston, where he completed his internal medicine residency, and I had moved back from Columbus after finishing occupational therapy school. Dating in your late twenties can feel discouraging, and after a string of uninspiring dates, I was ready to give up. That’s when my sister and brother-in-law—Hinge success stories themselves—encouraged me to give online dating another try. Having tried it before in Ohio, I was hesitant, but they insisted that upgrading to Hinge+ would make all the difference. So, for $12.95, I took the plunge—and just a few days later, Peyton entered the chat. Looking back, that was the best return on investment I’ve ever made. We nearly missed our first date due to a last-minute complication at the hospital, but somehow, we made it happen. By our second date, we were venturing beyond the city, spending a Sunday afternoon exploring Sweetwater Creek State Park. Peyton will tell you I interrogated him; I prefer to say I was simply making sure I didn’t waste time. As it turns out, he passed with flying colors—no red flags after all. Fast forward to the following August: Peyton left early one Saturday morning for “rounds” at the hospital, while I had plans to walk Sweetwater Creek with my friend Sarah. What I didn’t know was that Peyton and Sarah had been secretly plotting. She lingered in the bathroom just long enough for Peyton to slip in behind me, setting the stage for a moment that would change everything. We made our way to the same rock where we had spent hours talking the previous September—a place already etched in our story. And although the details blur in the haze of joy, one thing is certain: Peyton asked, and I said yes.

I had never been the type to daydream about my wedding dress—likely a result of my indecisive nature when it comes to choosing clothing. Like many brides, I turned to Pinterest for inspiration before my bridal appointments. Heading into dress shopping, I was certain of two things: I did not want lace, and I did not want a strapless gown. Two boutiques and twelve dresses later, I found myself standing in Anne Barge Atelier, certain I had discovered the one. To my surprise, she was both strapless and adorned with lace. The Rhodes gown perfectly embodied my vision of timeless elegance. The gown was perfected by the addition of a detachable train, offering two distinct looks without the need for a formal outfit change.

For Peyton, we knew a black-tie look was essential. We turned to Miller Brothers, a local men’s boutique, where they crafted a custom tuxedo—an elegant piece he’ll continue to wear for years to come. The look was finished with velvet loafers—stylish yet surprisingly comfortable, as Peyton happily reported.

Our florist came highly recommended by the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, and choosing Marina of Imagiflora Flower Design was an easy decision thanks to her warm personality and genuine enthusiasm for our vision. She and Danila worked in perfect harmony, and the results were nothing short of breathtaking. Our guests—and we ourselves—are still raving about the enchanting garden that graced the center of our reception table. Words could never fully capture the artistry, but one glance at the ceremony speaks volumes about the quality and beauty of her work.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The cake was a quintessential Italian creation—light, fragrant, and crafted with simple ingredients that came together in perfect harmony. Every bite was absolutely delicious.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

We had admired Seb Chaumont and the Bopster Blues from afar long before inviting them to be part of our celebration. Mackenzie’s sister, Jordan, discovered them on Instagram months before we were even engaged, and from that moment, they felt like the perfect fit. Their music was the embodiment of sophistication and charm—an ideal complement to the whimsical elegance of an Italian wedding on Lake Como. With their class and vibrant personality, they brought our lakeside celebration to life in the most unforgettable way. Our guests are still raving about this incredible quartet—their music left an impression that continues to resonate long after the celebration.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Thanks to the planner: Planning a wedding from across the ocean felt like an overwhelming challenge. After exploring elopement blogs and gathering recommendations from vendors, Mackenzie reached out to several planners. What set Danila apart was her ability to embrace our vision wholeheartedly and her expertise in transforming dreams into reality. She seamlessly orchestrated our vendors into a harmonious celebration—whimsical yet refined, vibrant yet never overpowering—perfectly capturing the essence of an Italian garden party. At every step, Danila ensured our wedding reflected who we are, all while remaining mindful of logistics and budget. Looking back on both the planning process and the wedding day itself, we wholeheartedly agree: Danila was our greatest investment. Quite simply, our wedding would not have been possible without her

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

ceremony: We cherish in our hearts the family and friends who traveled all the way to Italy to spend our wedding day with us. We are both the youngest children in our respective families, and our older siblings have blessed us with nearly a dozen nieces and nephews – all of whom made the trip over. The two eldest nieces – Emmeline and Frankie – served as our flower girls. At first, we were hesitant to include the children, but having them there and involved really added a special element that we will always remember and hold dear. One of Peyton’s closest friends, Phillip, had the honor of officiating our ceremony. He devoted so much time and care to crafting a service that felt deeply personal—thoughtful, heartfelt, and a true reflection of our love story.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

A favorite memory that makes us cheer up: From Peyton: seeing Mackenzie in her wedding for the first time at our first look. I cried. She cried. We wrote each other letters to read to each other as our own private vows. It took a few minutes before we could choke out the words to each other, and they got littered with tear stains in the process. By far the happiest moment of my life thus far. From Mackenzie: Seated beside my husband at the head of the table, we watched as the staff of the Grand Hotel Tremezzo presented freshly baked pizzas to begin the evening feast. To our left, the sun dipped gracefully behind Lake Como, casting a golden glow across the water. The Bopster Blues wandered through the garden, filling the air with quintessential Italian melodies, while the table shimmered under the soft glow of candles and café lights, illuminating a breathtaking array of flowers. All around us, guests mingled joyfully, savoring delicate Italian bites and sipping local wines—a scene that felt like a dream brought to life. A particularly happy moment from the day: Immediately after the ceremony, we slipped away aboard a classic Riva Aquarama—courtesy of Yacht Club Eriolario, whom we cannot recommend highly enough—for a series of breathtaking photos and, unexpectedly, a few precious moments alone as newlyweds. While our guests settled into happy hour, serenaded by the Bopster Blues with chilled Aperol spritzes in hand, we found ourselves gliding across the water, savoring the quiet and the beauty of Lake Como. That brief escape gave us something invaluable: time to breathe, reflect, and simply revel in each other’s company on our most special day. Any advice we’d give to other couples planning their wedding: Wedding planning doesn’t have to be stressful! Every couple has titsown style and vision, but finding a planner early in the process—someone who truly understands your dream and is committed to bringing it to life—can make all the difference. Knowing that Danila and her team were working tirelessly behind the scenes gave us the freedom to be fully present—both throughout our engagement and on our wedding day. If you’re planning a destination wedding, give yourselves the gift of time by arriving a few days early. We spent five unforgettable days on Lake Como before our celebration, which allowed us to adjust to the time zone, unwind, and simply bask in our love before the big day. Those moments together were priceless. Also, we want to give a heartfelt shout-out to the Grand Hotel Tremezzo and their exceptional staff. They truly embody the standard of world-class hospitality, living up to their reputation as one of the finest five-star hotels in the world. Every corner of the property is meticulously cared for, and the cuisine was as exquisite in flavor as it was in presentation. Our guests are still raving about the steak and fish, grilled tableside and served with such artistry during our reception. From check-in to check-out, the staff went above and beyond—gracious, attentive, and genuinely invested in creating an unforgettable experience. They didn’t just meet expectations; they exceeded them in every way.

A Nancy Meyers-Inspired Coastal Wedding at Castle Hill in Newport

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The color scheme for the weekend was a mix of blues, greens, and white. The colors were chosen to complement the natural coastal beauty of the venue, Castle Hill.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The aesthetic for the wedding celebration was Nancy Meyers, meets coastal grandmother, meets New England traditional. The tent design was layered with banquet seating to mimic an at-home, cozy yet upscale dining experience. Other special touches throughout the design were buoys used as place card holders at the escort wall display as a nod to Ali and Ian’s love of being on the ocean, a signature cocktail for their dog Bonnie, and a vintage getaway car as a nod to Ian’s late father.

A Poetic Ode to Nature at Troutbeck in New York’s Hudson Valley

[section title=”The Planning”]

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Surrounded by sweeping countryside in New York’s Hudson Valley, Jessica and Josh’s wedding became a poetic ode to botany and the natural world. Their venue, Troutbeck, unfolded across a stunning 18th-century estate that set a timeless backdrop. With guidance from their planner, Jessica embraced bold, fresh design ideas. “The result was everything we hoped for — fun, light, and summery, but still elevated and sophisticated,” the couple explained.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

When Jessica and Josh first met, they were both working at a PR firm in New York. Jess’s team was moved, placing her cubicle directly across from Josh’s. They quickly became office friends and, before long, each other’s office crush. After a few months, Josh finally worked up the courage to ask her out for a drink, and the rest is history. While living in Park Slope, they grew to love their morning walks through Prospect Park. One sunny Saturday in December, Josh suggested they head out for their usual loop. Behind the scenes, he had coordinated with both of their parents to meet them in the park, where he proposed. After spending the morning celebrating with their families, they drove to Wildflower Farms for the weekend to soak in the joy of being newly engaged.

Clean Design and Lowcountry Light at a Timeless Kiawah Island Celebration

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]white, greens, and touches of gold[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The overall vibe was classy and undeniably timeless. Nothing was too trendy, nothing was overly ornate, but just a beautifully curated blend of traditional Southern charm and elevated coastal sophistication. The day felt fresh, calm, and intentional, with an atmosphere that was both welcoming and polished. The vision was to create a classic spring wedding on Kiawah Island that felt elegant, natural, and true to the couple’s style. They wanted the design to complement the surrounding landscape—rolling greens, ocean breezes, and soft Lowcountry light without overpowering it. The tented celebration was thoughtfully styled to feel romantic, airy, and forever-in-style, with an emphasis on clean design, meaningful details, and a setting that let the natural beauty of the Ocean Course shine.

Guests were welcomed into the cocktail hour with a thoughtful selection of passed hors d’oeuvres that set the tone for an elegant coastal celebration. Servers offered melon skewers with prosciutto and mint, ahi tuna tartare on crisp cucumber with sesame seeds and wasabi aioli, and braised Italian-style meatballs, alongside warm Vidalia onion and mushroom tarts and perfectly seared scallops topped with tomato bacon jam. As everyone moved into the tent for dinner, the seated portion of the evening began with a refined first course duo: a comforting roasted corn chowder layered with local blue crab and finished with chili oil, paired with a fresh baby spinach salad topped with sliced eggs, applewood-smoked bacon lardons, mushrooms, grape tomatoes, and a sweet-and-sour poppy seed dressing. For the second course, guests enjoyed an entree duo that beautifully balanced land and sea. A delicate seared seabass filet, served with seasoned grilled vegetables and a classic beurre blanc, complemented the richness of a pepper-crusted filet mignon accompanied by silky pommes purée and an au poivre sauce. As the evening unfolded, a charming mini dessert display opened for guests to enjoy at their leisure, offering vanilla cake pops, key lime tarts, and decadent double chocolate tarts. Later in the night, with the dance floor still full, a round of late-night bites delighted guests once more: cheeseburger sliders with cheddar and applewood-smoked bacon, crispy fried chicken biscuits with dill pickles and hot honey, and warm mini cheese quesadillas served with sour cream, guacamole, and salsa. It was the perfect finale to a joyful evening and a menu that felt thoughtful, elevated, and delicious from start to finish.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The floral vision centered around lush, white-bloom–forward design with an emphasis on texture, movement, and seasonality. The bride and bridesmaids carried full, romantic bouquets composed of white peonies, garden roses, and assorted varieties of ranunculus.

For the ceremony, abundant white hydrangeas and stock created a soft yet structured backdrop. Guests were welcomed into the reception tent through a dramatic, full greenery entrance arch accented with subtle pops of white floral. Inside the tent, greenery-covered chandeliers brought a natural, suspended garden feel overhead.

Tabletop arrangements featured low, textural designs incorporating fringe tulips, sweet pea, and a mix of hellebore, hydrangea, ranunculus, and roses to create a soft, layered look while maintaining an airy, refined aesthetic throughout the space.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The wedding cake was a stacked 4 tiers with a smooth white finish of buttercream and beading at the base of each tier, decorated with fresh florals. Guests were served both Carrot Cake and Classic Almond Cake.

A Farm Rio-Inspired Wedding in a Kaleidoscope of Citrus and Fuchsia

A fruit basket of Bright and bold hues of tangerine, orange, cantaloupe, banana, buttercup, papaya, peach, coral, apricot, fuchsia, citron greens, and pops of pink.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Playing to their new shared last name, while we were Young was the inspiration for this design, created with classic Modern romance with a touch of playful and Farm Rio influence. This special day unfolded in a kaleidoscope of color, where every corner hummed with bold, playful hues and the kind of carefree energy that makes your heart do a little dance. Guests stepped into this Farm Rio wonderland, where color didn’t just pop, it sang, and joy wasn’t just seen, it was felt. Giving nod to Monica’s inner Donna moment, the day was breezy, sun-soaked, and brimming with the spirit of a coastal escape, where laughter floated through the air, and memories were made in technicolor. Guests were wrapped in the scent of blooming cosmos and cheerful daisies, surrounded by the season’s happiest flowers. Everywhere they looked, there was something to make them smile: citrusy bursts of fuchsia and citron, playful prints, woven textures, and umbrellas that twirled like they were dancing just for them. Guests sipped fresh juice from the sunny bar or wandered over to a cheerful gelato cart for a sweet bite under the sun. It’s heartfelt, it’s full of charm, and it’s as alive and full of personality as their love. With every laugh and every glance, you felt it—that single thread of gold, tying you to this moment.

The wedding dress I found was in a cute little store in Salt Lake City, called the Blushing Bride, but it was originally strapless, and I love bows, so I wanted to incorporate that into my wedding dress. I fell in love with the fabric that was on that dres,s so I got that dress and ended up cutting off the top part of the dress and ordering more fabric from the designer so my tailor could rebuild the top of the dress. I wanted it to be cute and fun, just like our wedding!

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

I handpicked all the fabric, designed each dress, and had them made by one of my favorite smaller nonprofits. About a year and a half ago, I met an amazing woman named Matilda in Ghana, Africa. She has a daughter with Down syndrome, and with the little money she had, she started a nonprofit to support women who have children with disabilities or special needs. It’s called the Matilda Flow Inclusion Foundation. It’s a tailoring shop that takes custom orders and focuses on sustainable fashion by recycling unwanted goods. I traveled to Ghana and worked with her as she was just beginning the process of creating all my bridesmaids’ dresses. She did an incredible job, and I was so happy that such a beautiful part of our wedding could also represent something I love, supporting others’ dreams in places where opportunities are limited. I absolutely love how the bridesmaids’ dresses turned out. I love color, and I love the joy it brings, so I wanted all of my girls to be dressed in happiness on the happiest day of my life!

[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]

For the groomsmen’s outfits, we just did navy blue suits, so there was still some color incorporated, but kept it subtle to match the colorful formal theme of the wedding. For Cade’s suit, he had a custom navy blue suit, and his white shirt had one of my favorite details of the wedding. Honestly, his sleeve, where normally the groomsmen’s initials are embroidered, said MBY instead of his initials CMY. MBY is my new initials, and I love this because I think it’s so cute that he wears his heart on his sleeve, and throughout our dating the last several years, that’s where it has always been. He has always been so persistent, patient, and loving, and so it was such a cute reminder that I’ve always been his heart, and his heart has always been on his sleeve.

A standout moment of the celebration was the show-stopping 360° gelato bar, where guests could wander up and indulge in a refreshing, handcrafted treat. And because this was a dry wedding, we infused the experience with an extra dose of creativity: a custom juice bar, beautifully built by Backup Productions. Guests loved choosing from four freshly squeezed juices, each one as bright and flavorful as the day itself. To complement the sips and sweets, four curated food stations offered a delicious tour of flavors, from pasta and gyros to poke and flatbreads with crisp salads. And for the perfect final touch, guests could swing by the churro station and pick up a warm, sugary churro to enjoy on the way to the dance floor!

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The decor for this wedding drew inspiration from Farm Rio’s vibrant, joy-filled aesthetic. Playful patterns, bold color mixing, and layered textures flowed effortlessly through every detail, creating an atmosphere that felt lifted straight from a sun-drenched summer romance film. A lush medley of seasonal blooms, including cosmos, daisies, garden roses, dahlias, pee gee hydrangea, lisianthus, scabiosa, sweet pea, ranunculus, foxglove, clematis, zinnias, and more infused the day with movement, color, and an irresistible sense of whimsy. Floral pendants danced above custom-made tables, adding yet another layer of texture and enchantment to the design. Custom elements elevated the celebration at every turn: a bespoke juice bar, a custom-wrapped photo booth, and a personalized dance floor embellished with the couple’s signature initials. And in the sweetest nod to their playful spirit, the couple made their getaway on a Vespa adorned with florals, streaming ribbons, and a charming little “Just Married” plate, the perfect finale to a day overflowing with color and joy. Together, Monica + Cade stepped into a world that was uniquely theirs; vibrant, heartfelt, and unforgettable.

Rattan Details and Soft Blush Blooms in a Whimsical Lakeside Celebration

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

(from the bride) The vision I had in mind when planning our wedding was “an elegant garden party. ” I wanted everything to feel whimsical, fun, and summery, yet also elegant and classic. Something timeless, but with pops of color and a fun garden feel, since we would be lakeside. Thereweres lots of rattan on the candles, furniture, frames, es and vases at cocktail hour to bring in that summery feel. I felt that the barn felt very garden-esque, and we made it elegant with string lights, hurricane candles, and soft pink florals. We encouraged guests to dress in fun summer colors. My planner did the most amazing job capturing my vision.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Jack and I had been together since 2012 in high school, so our engagement was long-awaited by many. My sister had just gotten married the spring before, so I thought nothing of it when Jack planned a trip to Enchantment, a resort in Sedona, Arizona, that we had always wanted to go to. He told me so many times, “not to get my hopes up” and that he was going to propose soon, but it wouldn’t be here. He even told me we’d go ring shopping again when we got back. However, on the rainiest first night of our trip, he tricked me by getting me all dressed up to go to a lookout in Sedona where a golf club was, and told me his coworker said we HAD to see this lookout. He had a photographer waiting on the rocks for us, and once he finally got me to climb down the rocks in my dress and heels, he proposed. We celebrated all weekend, just the two of us.

My wedding gown is by Mark Ingram. I bought it at a shop in LA called NWLA, where I had the best time trying on dresses with my mom and my grandma, who has proven to be good luck when finding wedding dresses. I knew I wanted something timeless and classic, but with a flair that was very,e– so in came the bows. We even planned the bows on our dinner menus to match the bows on my dress.

My maids of honor, in green, wore Rachel Gilbert. The solid pink dresses are Shona Joy, and the pattern is V. Chapman. I thought the greens and pinks were perfect for the garden party’s whimsical vibe. I let the girls dress it up as they pleased, some with fun earrings and others with exciting pink shoe choices.

We had two signature cocktails of the evening- Claire’s being her favorite Aperol spritz and Jack’s being his usual dirty Titos martini. We had them stationed at the end of the cocktail hour on beautiful bar carts so people could grab them and get mingling. We had local wine and a special vintage wine from our birth years. Beer on tap during the reception because the bride & groom are huge beer lovers. Passed apps & stations during cocktail hour included a non-negotiable raw bar in a boat for peak lake vibes, mini tuna tartare wontons, and mini beef wellingtons, to name a few. Entrees included miso-glazed seabass, filet mignon, and a vegetarian gnocchi carbonara with local corn, which was to die for. For dessert, alongside the edging cake, we had adorable shooters of banana pudding, local milk and cookies, and a chocolate brownie.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Florals were by my lovely florist, Jenny, of Flowerwell in Rochester, NY. The inspiration was fluffy pinks and greens with different hints of pinks, blues,h and butter yellow. The ground arch was exactly everything I ever dreamed of. We had large and small arrangements with bud vases on each table for more dimension. At cocktail hour, we had amazing bar florals to highlight the bar menus. Our lily of the valley tablecloth paired perfectly with the lily of the valley menus I had my stationer design. We wanted as many flowers and garden themes as possible, so the plates were green floral toile with a leaf bread and butter plate. Tall hurricane candles lined each table for extra romance and brought the barn room to life. Our custom decal dancefloor sticker was the center of the room and used the same weeping willow on our save the dates. Tables were named withther most special places in our relationship.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

Our wedding cake was created by Rochester, New York Wedding Cakes. He does such amazing work and gives us endless options to choose from. We landed on carrot cake with cream cheese swirl & vanilla with raspberry jam, all covered in vanilla buttercream in the most beautiful vintage cake design. Topped with a classic cake topper, my bridesmaid gave us when we first got engaged.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

The ceremony and cocktail hour music were provided by an amazing string quartet. We wanted classics and pop songs all played, like Bridgerton. We thought the string quartet would make it feel even more like an elegant garden party. Reception music was by the most incredible band in Rochester, Shine. They played all our favorites and even learned “American Girl” by Tom Petty for us

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Turning my mom’s wedding dress into my late reception to after-party dress was so special. I am one of three girls, so I definitely never thought I’d be the one to get to turn my mom’s dress into my vision. We worked with our local tailor, and my mom was with me every step of the way. It turned out so perfect– both my parents were obsessed with it and so happy someone else was able to get use out of it in such a special way.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

I come from a huge wine-loving family & my dad has imparted much of his wine knowledge on Jack and me, so it has become somewhat of a tradition to have open special bottles from the bride & groom’s birth year on the table for the wedding dinner. Coming from California, my dad had to seek out many specialty vintage wine shops on the East Coast to find the right 1995 and 1998 reds that would be perfect for the event. His speech told this story of how important wine is to us, and everyone loved having a taste of such special bottles.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]The culinary experience was one of the most memorable highlights of the wedding, thoughtfully curated to celebrate authentic Italian flavors and the richness of Tuscan tradition.

Aperitivo Experience

Guests were welcomed with a vibrant and interactive aperitivo featuring special live-preparation stations.
One of the favorites was the gnocchi corner, where chefs prepared gnocchi on the spot and dressed them with freshly made sauces. This created a warm, convivial atmosphere and offered guests a taste of true Italian hospitality.
Another show-stopping feature was the live mozzarella-making station, where expert cheesemakers crafted creamy fresh mozzarella right before everyone’s eyes. Served with seasonal ingredients, it added an artisanal and authentic touch to the cocktail hour.

Dinner Menu

The seated dinner celebrated Tuscan specialties, highlighting local ingredients and regional recipes. From rustic yet elegant first courses to traditional meat dishes and fresh vegetables, every plate reflected the flavors of the surrounding countryside.

Wine Selection

The entire experience was elevated by wine produced from the vineyards surrounding the villa. Guests enjoyed estate wines that perfectly matched the menu, creating a meaningful connection between the land, the venue and the celebration.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The floral design is lush, abundant, and garden-inspired, built around large romantic blooms such as peonies, garden roses, dahlias, lisianthus, and delphiniums. Arrangements line the ceremony aisle with cascading flowers and draped neutral fabrics. Petals scattered along the gravel pathway add a delicate, whimsical touch. At dinner, the tables feature low, full centerpieces in harmonious pastel tones, paired with candles in glass hurricanes and vintage-style green goblets. Hanging woven lanterns and strategic architectural lighting on the cypress trees complete the look, transforming the space into an enchanting open-air dining room.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The wedding cake was a classic Italian millefoglie, prepared live by the chefs in a fun, festive show that gathered all guests around. Layers of crisp puff pastry and fresh chantilly cream were assembled on the spot, decorated with flowers in the wedding palette, and finished with a joyful shower of rose petals tossed by the chefs. The bride and groom then decorated the cake with piping bags, adding a playful, unforgettable touch. The celebration continued with cake tasting, kisses, and even a dramatic sabrage performed by the groom, making the cake cutting a true spectacle.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

The evening is enriched with a layered musical experience: A serenata during dinner, offering a gentle, elegant live performance that enhances the candlelit atmosphere. Live music after dinner brings energy to the celebration. Dj for the last part of the night. A fun and memorable first dance, as well as a choreographed father–daughter dance, both lively and entertaining for guests.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

A stunning fire performance adds a dramatic and unforgettable element to the night. Performers in elegant black outfits light up the space with synchronized, choreographed movements, enhancing the sense of spectacle and creating a magical highlight for guests.

A Coquette-Core Wedding Planner Dinner At the Mayflower Inn & Spa

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”The Inspiration”]

This gathering was born from a simple but meaningful idea: the people who spend every weekend making someone else’s day extraordinary deserve a day of their own. Elizabeth Hall Events and Sarah Worden Natural Design come together once a year to plan a dinner not for couples, but for the planners themselves. This year’s theme, an elevated picnic, was a love letter to summer in Connecticut, unhurried, beautiful, and rooted in the kind of ease that these professionals work so hard to create for others.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Pastoral blue, warm white, soft sage, pale pink, and the natural tones of sun-dried linen.

[/field]
[field title=”The Venue”]

The Mayflower Inn provided the perfect backdrop for a celebration that felt both refined and genuinely relaxed. Its grounds carry a quiet, timeless quality that makes the elevated picnic concept feel completely at home. The indoor setting allowed the team to bring the outside in without sacrificing any of the warmth and intimacy the evening called for.

The guests dressed the part beautifully, arriving in crisp natural fibers and laid-back silhouettes that felt effortlessly New England. Linen, cotton, and soft textures in warm neutrals and whites carried the pastoral theme from the table to the room.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Sarah Worden Natural Design filled the space with wildflowers arranged in vintage vessels, creating tablescapes that felt gathered rather than constructed. The florals echoed the pastoral color palette without ever feeling too precious or over-designed. Elizabeth Hall Events layered in vintage-inspired linens with a blue and white floral print that grounded the whole aesthetic in something warm, familiar, and quietly nostalgic.

[/field]
[field title=”Favorite Design Element”]

With four rental partners contributing to the space, the layering of textures and objects was where the design really came alive. Pieces from The Elements, Decco, Peak Event Services, and Kadeema worked together in a way that felt curated rather than assembled, as though everything had always belonged in the same room. For a team that spends so much time sourcing the right details for other people’s celebrations, it was a beautiful example of what happens when that same level of care gets turned inward.

[/field]
[field title=”Tips To Pull Off The Look”]

The key to this aesthetic is restraint and curation. Choose vessels and rentals with history to them, for example, pieces that look like they’ve been collected over time rather than sourced from a single catalog. Let the florals feel loose and gathered, and allow the linens to do a lot of the design heavy lifting. When every element has a sense of warmth and age to it, the overall look feels genuinely effortless rather than styled.

Manicured Gardens, Pampelonne Bay Sunsets, and a Speakeasy Finale in Provence

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

White and green. The wedding’s palette drew from the timeless elegance of a Provençal landscape, blending pristine whites—think crisp linens, ivory silks, and delicate blooms—with lush greens in shades of olive, lime, and sage. This fresh, harmonious scheme evoked the serene luxury of manicured chateau gardens, where every detail felt effortlessly refined and inviting.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Jamie and Chase sought a wedding that captured the magic of surrounding nature with an undercurrent of quiet opulence—a day where the landscape played as much a role as the decorations themselves. Magic Day crafted a seamless concept across four evocative zones, guiding guests through an intimate story of romance and sophistication. It began with the ceremony, thoughtfully integrated into the sweeping majesty of rolling hills and whispering sea, allowing the natural scenery to frame their vows. From there, the aristocratic garden party unfolded amid the greenery of the gardens and views of Saint-Tropez. The opulent dinner followed on terraces overlooking Saint-Tropez and golden-hour horizons above Pampelonne bay, where candlelit tables and panoramic views created an atmosphere of indulgent warmth. Finally, the evening retreated indoors to the chateau’s cozy ballroom transformed into a speakeasy, with classic seating and soft vintage lights inviting toasts and a joyful party as the night deepened.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Nestled in the sleek, sky-high lines of New York City’s Jenga Tower, Chase orchestrated a proposal as intimate as it was cinematic—far from the clamor of public fanfare, a private interlude that felt scripted straight from Jamie’s favorite rom-coms. As the sun dipped low over the skyline, casting a golden hush through their apartment windows, he surprised her with a trail of nearly 120 flickering electric candles, their soft glow transforming the space into a sanctuary of whispered anticipation. With the city humming faintly below, Chase dropped to one knee, pouring out his heart in a heartfelt 90 seconds of raw devotion, and slipped a breathtaking 5-carat diamond onto her finger. Jamie’s yes came swift and sure, her own words of love tumbling out in a moment that blurred the line between reality and reel—pure, unscripted magic that set the tone for the elegant forever they were about to begin.

Jamie stepped into her wedding day like a vision unfolding in chapters, each gown a deliberate nod to the day’s evolving rhythm of intimacy and revelry—effortlessly luxurious, with a whisper of Parisian poise. For the ceremony and sun-dappled cocktail hour, she chose a made-to-order Vivien Westwood Nova Grace bridal gown, its fluid lines and grace enhanced by a sweeping cape and delicate neck scarf that caught the Provençal breeze like secrets shared in silk. As twilight settled over dinner, she transitioned into the Sylvia Therese dress, a vision of understated elegance in soft folds that mirrored the terrace’s golden light and allowed her to savor the first dance with graceful ease. Come the afterparty’s cozy hum, the Nissa gown enveloped her in its playful yet refined silhouette, perfect for twirling through laughter-lit ballroom. Adorning her were Juwelina Paris earrings and necklace, sparkle that framed her joy; the pear-cut 5-carat diamond engagement ring, a luminous echo of Chase’s sunset proposal; a sleek Chanel wedding band sealing their vows; and a timeless Rolex watch, ticking softly against the night’s endless possibilities—each piece a quiet testament to a love as enduring as it was radiant.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”][/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Chase cut a figure of effortless authority amid the Provençal splendor, his look a masterclass in tailored restraint that amplified the day’s natural opulence. He wore a sleek Tom Ford tuxedo, its midnight-black lines falling with architectural poise, framed by Tom Ford sunglasses that lent a subtle, James Bond edge to his style. Beneath lay a crisp Eton shirt, impeccably starched yet yielding to the afternoon’s gentle warmth, paired with Stefano Ricci loafers in velvet—just enough to whisper luxury without a shout. A Cartier ring gleamed on his finger like a vow etched in platinum, while his Rolex watch marked the moments with quiet precision, a steady heartbeat to the ceremony’s promises and the evening’s lingering toasts—every element converging to frame him as the poised heart of it all.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

The culinary journey began with a welcome drink creation that captured the chateau’s whispered secrets—a refreshing elixir of local herbs and sun-ripened fruits hand-gathered from its own lush gardens, bright with notes of wild mint, lemon verbena, and ripe figs, served in chilled coupes as guests arrived under the olive boughs. The aperitif unfolded as a lively prelude in the garden party glow, an open bar flowing with crisp wines and couples’ favourite cocktails, accompanied by exquisite finger foods. Live stations added a touch of theater, where skilled hands shaped golden focaccia drizzled with Château d’Estoublon olive oil and fluffy crepes folded around seasonal products, inviting guests to mingle with effortless delight. Dinner on the terrace was nothing short of a love letter to French terroir, masterfully composed by Michelin-starred maestro Jean-François Piège—each course a harmonious celebration of the land and sea. It opened with a vibrant heirloom tomato salad, jewels of crimson and gold dressed in a whisper of Provençal sauce, followed by locally sourced seabass poached in a silken virgin olive oil, its flaky tenderness elevated by hints of fennel and citrus. The finale soared with tender poultry from Culoiseau, roasted to golden perfection and paired with earthy morels and a velvety jus, all underpinned by grand cuvée wines handpicked by the sommelier—vintages from the best domaines that unfolded in layers of mineral depth and sun-kissed fruit, each sip a seamless bridge between plate and palate. As the speakeasy after-party beckoned, a playful pivot honored Jamie and Chase’s American roots: juicy, grass-fed burgers stacked with aged cheddar and caramelized onions, served alongside crisp hand-cut fries dusted with sea salt and truffle—comfort elevated to indulgence, fueling dances and late-night confessions under the chateau’s amber lights.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The wedding’s florals and decor wove seamlessly into the Saint-Tropez landscape, enhancing its inherent drama without overshadowing it—a delicate balance of lush abundance and restrained glamour that mirrored Jamie and Chase’s vision of natural opulence—perfect execution from Miss Rose by Perrine team. For the ceremony, the round stage became a subtle jewel in the crown of green hills and shimmering sea, crowned with waist-high cascades of white roses, hydrangeas, and wild greens that framed the space without impeding the panoramic views. The elevated aisle lent a catwalk allure, perfect for the bride’s fashion-forward entrance, while rows of chairs in soft linen seats and backrests grounded the scene in effortless Provence charm, inviting guests to sink into the moment. The post-ceremony aperitif evoked a high-society garden party under the sun’s lingering glow, where forged iron chairs mingled with inviting lounges around marble-topped cocktail tables on gleaming brass stands. A grand bar, draped in overflowing floral garlands, anchored the space, blendingcosyy intimacy with upscale polish—spaces for quiet conversations amid the hum of laughter and clinking glasses. As evening deepened, dinner unfolded on the terrace with sweeping vistas of St. Tropez and Pampelonne bays, where a lush canopy of suspended florals—trailing ivy, wisteria, and soft whites—created a verdant sky overhead, evoking a secret garden suspended in twilight. Tables below kept it light and grounded: single-stem roses nestled among flickering candles, their simplicity a counterpoint to the drama above. Glamour arrived in crystal chandeliers, casting prismatic light and a custom checkered floor that added a touch of Fitzgerald’s Riviera chic, while luxurious Egyptian satin tablecloths and chairs crafted from sustainably sourced maple whispered of thoughtful, earth-kissed elegance. The night culminated in the Chateau de la Messardiere’s ballroom, reimagined as an intimate speakeasy that revealed itself with a dramatic draw of velvet curtains. Classic leather couches and armchairs invited lingering repose, paired with brass high tables, wooden bar stools, and a wooden dance floor under the warm haze of vintage lights— a sultry haven where the party’s pulse softened into shared stories and spontaneous dances, sealing the evening in timeless allure.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

As the evening’s warmth deepened into a starlit haze, the wedding’s crescendo arrived with Cedric Grolet’s masterful Framboisier cake—a beautiful ode to raspberry’s tart elegance, its featherlight sponge, silken cream, and jewel-like fruits encased in a flawless border of white chocolate, evoking the purity of a Provençal dawn dusted with dew. Unveiled back down in the gardens amid the soft murmur of bay breezes, it was served to gasps of delight with a cascade of golden sparklers, their fizzing fountains mirroring the night’s quiet magic. To sweeten the moment, The Archies’ 1969 hit “Sugar, Sugar” spun through the air—a playful, honeyed nod to irreverent joy that had guests swaying and smiling, the cake’s first slice sealing vows not just in flavor, but in the kind of unfiltered bliss that lingers like the finest champagne on the tongue.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”][/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]As the terrace dinner yielded to the night’s velvet hush, with St. Tropez’s lights twinkling like scattered diamonds across the bay, a bespoke drone show unfurled like a private constellation—crafted exclusively for Jamie and Chase, a luminous love letter etched into the Provençal sky. Over 200 synchronized drones rose in graceful formation, tracing their names in flowing script of soft whites and greens, intertwined with hearts and other symbols of love. The display danced to a custom soundscape of whispered strings and sea-salted breezes, drawing gasps from guests below as it bloomed into fleeting motifs of intertwined vines and eternal loops— a 12-minute unforgettable flourish that crowned their union with the quiet grandeur of the stars themselves, sealing the evening in sky-written poetry.
[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

In a nod to timeless romance and the quiet thrill of the open road, Chase swept Jamie away for a drive before the ceremony in a gleaming Aston Martin DBS Volante, its sleek black curves slicing through the winding Provençal lanes like an arrow loosed from Cupid’s bow. Top down under a canopy of azure sky and whispering cypresses, the wind played gently with her scarf as they traced the contours of vineyard-covered hills, the engine’s low, velvety purr a private serenade to their shared anticipation. This wasn’t mere transport—it was a prelude to their vows, a moment of unhurried intimacy where the landscape blurred into a verdant haze, and every curve of the road felt like fate’s elegant confirmation of the life they were about to embark upon together.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]The festivities kicked off with a sun-kissed welcome dinner at Jardin Tropezina, the beach club’s Mediterranean garden-terrace unfurling like a private Eden along Pampelonne Bay—waves lapping softly at the shore, Provençal breezes carrying hints of sea salt and wild herbs, all framed by the venue’s luminous luxury of draped linens and flickering lanterns. Here, amid tables laden with Chef Jean-François Piège’s artful plates of sun-ripened tomatoes, olive-kissed seafood, and herb-infused creations, acrobats surprised the guests with their aerial poetry as a whimsical counterpoint to the evening’s easy elegance. A DJ spun seamless sets of chilled lounge grooves and subtle Riviera beats, drawing guests into a party mood as laughter mingled with the surf. At the heart of it all, Jamie and Chase moved with unhurried warmth among their loved ones, sharing stories over glasses of chilled rosé and stolen glances— a deliberate ritual of connection that transformed the night into a tapestry of intimate toasts, setting the stage for the days of romance to come.

A Minimal, Architectural Wedding in San Diego with Modern Black Accents

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

My wedding colors were Ivory and Baby Blue with a pop of yellow. However, we had our bridesmaids and groomsmen wear all black as I did not want the wedding colors to be expressed through the bridesmaids’ dress color – I wanted the color palette to pull through with the florals, signage & table scape.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

My vision was to keep everything very clean and timeless. We were fortunate to have great weather and be outside in San Diego for the entire event, where I knew we would have beautiful palm trees, greener,y and architecture from our venue that I didn’t want to override with a “theme”. I wanted the beauty of the venue and the clean aesthetic of a timeless wedding to seamlessly come together – and it executed well!

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

My husband and I lived in Coronado for a brief period of time and quickly fell in love with it. There was no doubt in my husband’s mind that we both would love a proposal on the beach, but doing so in the Coronado dunes in front of the Hotel Del was a cherry on top and will always remind us of our life lived there. It felt very personal to us and is somewhere we hope to make many memories with our kids one day.

I was so excited to shop for a wedding dress! I brought my mom and sister-in-law along for the journey one Saturday in San Diego on what felt like ‘the day of 100 dresses’. Before this day, I had gone by myself to The White Flower to try on a few dresses. This was advice I received from a friend who recommended going shopping alone so your opinions were not swayed by others (good advice I’ll always tell others!). So after the long day of visiting multiple other bridal boutiques, I brought my mom & sister-in-law back to The White Flower to see my top pick, and it easily outweighed all other dresses I tried on that day; so by the second time I put it on,n I knew it was the one and said “Yes” on the spot!

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

Although our wedding was not black tie, I wanted our wedding party to be in long black dresses and black tuxes. We had a very large wedding party (16 bridesmaids & 14 groomsmen), so black felt the most clean and timeless. I did, however, allow each bridesmaid to choose their own black dress so we had a beautiful variety of silhouettes and everyone looked and felt beautiful in the dress of their choice!

Our food and drinks were provided by our venue, Omni La Costa Resort. I am actually a vegetarian and not a big foodie, so the dinner selection wasn’t my highest personal priority… However, Omni La Costa had great options, and we ended up with a bouquet-wrapped Tequila Watermelon salad & 3 choices of an entree: Steak, Salmon, or a Pumpkin Ravioli. As for drinks, it was important to us to have an open bar for as long as possible. The Omni provided multiple bars with a variety of drinks and specialty cocktails. We chose to do our specialty cocktails the night before at welcome drinks. The theme for our drinkswase cities we have lived in: 1) The Tucson – a spicy margarita, 2) The Denver – an Espresso Martin, i 3) The San Diego – a Hugo Spritz

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Our flowers were beautifully arranged by Studio Flourish. We were referred to Nadine by good friends of ours, and we got to know her so well during our year of wedding planning. She was so enthusiastic, passionate, talented & receptive to our vision. She truly made it all come to life while working within our budget. I chose for all 16 of my bridesmaids to hold a simple bouquet of calla lilies that went perfectly with their black dresses. I had an assortment of ivory florals with a pop of baby blue in my bridal bouquet. She did a wonderful job with bud vases, our altar,r and all other large statement pieces around the venue with similar florals and colors.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

Our wedding cake was from Susie Cakes! I used to live next to a Susie Cakes in San Francisco, so it felt perfect and personal to have this be our cake. They have so many great flavors, we couldn’t choose one! We ended up choosing a variety of cupcakes and two sliced sheet cakes to offer a good assortment to our guests. We cut into a small vintageheart-shapedd cake that said “just married,” and that cake was simply for cutting, tasting & being packaged up to save for ourone-yearr anniversary.

A special detail worth noting: We used fresh coconuts on a display wall as our escort cards! This was a fun, unique, and memorable way to give our guests the gift of fresh coconut water (helpful before all of the drinking …) while being used for table assignments for each guest. WindandSea Coconuts did a personal branding on each coconut,t and we had a beautiful display wall that held all 200 coconuts, which filled our reception space perfectly.

Another special detail worth noting: My husband and I love Bird Rock Coffee here in San Diego. They have an awesome vintage Volkswagen van that they have converted into a mobile coffee cart for events like this. Their colors and vibe fit our reception perfectly, it added a personal touch, and we loved offering a variety of coffees, lattes, etc for our guests while dessert was being served through the majority of the dancing for a little energy boost!

Wine, Rust, and Midnight Blue Set the Scene for a Refined Mountain Retreat Wedding

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The color palette for the weekend included greens, soft ivory, dusty blue, deep midnight blue, soft peachy blush, terracotta, and rust with rich brown and punchy wine, coral, and cranberry hues. Each event teased out a different portion of the palette. The intimate rehearsal dinner on Thursday night leaned into sage green with copper and terracotta, and snippets of midnight blue and brown. The bridal luncheon on Friday afternoon centered around wine tones, with brighter blush and coral, soft greens, and a fun little pop of chartreuse. For Friday evening’s welcome party, we leaned into a richer palette of browns, rust, and various greens to highlight the existing upholstery and patterned elements in the space. On the wedding day, each and every color was involved in some way, culminating in a dance party in a tent designed in primarily blue hues. Across the weekend, the palette guided a thoughtful, curated progression of color that celebrated the seasonal transition from fall to early winter so beautifully.

From the very beginning, Katie and James’ priority was to create an atmosphere of hospitality that was welcoming, relaxed, and cohesive, paving the way for their guests to experience a full weekend of celebration, and not just merely one day. Once we landed on High Hampton as the destination, the event design took shape as an extension of the resort’s natural character, blending refined wedding details with the warm, comfortable luxury that defines why this mountain retreat is so beloved.

For her walk down the aisle, cocktails, dinner, and first dances, Katie wore Monique Lhuillier’s Lakely gown, which she paired with Bella Belle pumps and heirloom earrings. Later in the evening, she changed into Rachel Gilbert’s feather-tiered “Frenchy” minidress and made an appearance in both Stuart Weitzman silver sandals and ivory lace sneakers by Zimmermann.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]The culinary experience at High Hampton is truly exceptional, and it was a delight to curate the menus for each event throughout the weekend. For the formal wedding reception, guests enjoyed an abundant selection of tray-passed hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour before taking their seats for an elegant plated dinner. The first course featured a seasonal mixed-greens salad with shaved vegetables, smoked onion jam vinaigrette, and toasted sunflower seeds. Entrées were pre-selected and offered a choice of beef tenderloin, chicken, or pan-seared scallops.

Alongside a beautifully appointed full bar, signature cocktails added a playful nod to the couple’s careers. Guests raved about James’ signature “The Deal Maker,” Katie’s “The Litigator,” and espresso martinis aptly named “The Legal Grounds.” And because no great celebration ends without a late-night bite, everyone was treated to a late-night surprise of hot-honey pepperoni pizza served on the dance floor.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Throughout the weekend, we focused on allowing the vibrant color palette to harmonize with High Hampton’s natural surroundings and the property’s signature patterns, prints, and textures. A custom marble pattern, created by local marbling artist Kim Padula, was seamlessly integrated into paper elements and décor in both green and blue color ways. Guests first encountered the green version in a beautifully engraved and embossed invitation suite, presented in a dark green box lined with the marbled artwork. The pattern also appeared on Inn key envelopes at check-in, on the border of the dinner menu cards, and custom boxes, each with a deck of Uno (Katie and James’ favorite card game!) that were featured in the welcome gifts guests received upon arrival for their weekend stay. The blue version of the marble pattern was kept as a visual surprise for guests, revealed only after dinner in the tent on oversized drum shades for hanging light fixtures, stage wallpaper accents, and a custom dance floor, adding a playful yet cohesive layer to the weekend’s design. Flowers played a central role in weaving the full color story throughout the weekend. Key blooms included Moab and Romantic Antike garden roses, ranunculus, terracotta lisianthus, privet berry, chocolate cosmos, magnolia foliage, eucalyptus, hellebores, larkspur, and antique hydrangea, creating arrangements that were lush, layered, and texturally rich. Texture played a key role throughout the weekend, with guests encountering rich velvet fabrics, embroidered linens, and intriguing print and laser-cut details such as wooden ginkgo leaf place cards that were personalized with each guest’s name and affixed to their menu card at dinner. Every dining experience was thoughtfully layered, creating tabletop environments that felt both intentional and elevated throughout the weekend.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]High Hampton’s incredible pastry chef, April Franqueza, a 2025 James Beard Awards® Semifinalist, created a stunning three-tier wedding cake that incorporated sculpted sugar gingko leaves and garden roses to mimic the original embossed artwork on their invitation suite. One of the most meaningful surprises of the weekend was the moment when Katie’s parents revealed a vintage red Corvette for the couple to use as their getaway car. But this wasn’t just any red Corvette…. it was the exact vehicle that her parents had used as their own wedding getaway car. Her father found and restored the vehicle, and uponitss reveal, we displayed original photos of her parents in the car on their wedding day in 1979!

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]On Friday afternoon, after an intimate bridal luncheon and before guests gathered for the welcome party, everyone had the chance to create a custom hat. Highlands Hatter, a favorite shop from the nearby town of Highlands, set up a hat bar in the High Hampton lobby where guests could select a style and personalize it with unique details. Katie and James first discovered Highlands Hatter during a weekend trip to Highlands early in their relationship, and it was during that getaway that they both fell in love. Incorporating that experience into their wedding weekend felt like a meaningful way to share a piece of their story with their guests.[/field]

Eclectic Character Meets Contemporary Design in This Artfully Layered Fall Shoot

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”The Inspiration”]

When thinking through a wedding design, Valerie Strenk of LBV Design House is often inspired by interior design and the surrounding elements to create something that feels like an extension of the space it lives in. This shoot was heavily influenced by the beauty of Fall in Texas, which aimed to blend eclectic character with a contemporary feel. Depth was brought into the design through a strategic integration of textural linens and chairs, unexpected tablescape pairings,s and letterpressed paper goods. The ultimate creation felt whimsical yet refined, with a sense of curated individuality, for a styled celebration infused with seasonal warmth and artistic flair.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

In partnership with floral designer Maggie Peterson, the overall color palette was intended to celebrate colors naturally found in florals during autumn, while still bringing vibrancy to the design. Deeper reds and terracotta floral varieties were paired with naturally found grasses and hints of blue, for a wwell-balancedcolor palette that felt light while remaining seasonally appropriate. These colors extended throughout the design via details like the blue rimmed plates from The Rayes Collection, the cake bar from Bee Lavish Vintage Rentals, and Paper Details from Merci Studio. This mix of colors was anchored with neutral wood and rattan materials seen in statement moments like the bar and chargers.

[/field]
[field title=”The Venue”]

The background of choice for this photo shoot was The Addison Grove, which sits on a sprawling 26-acre property in the Texas Hill Country, just outside of Austin. The grounds include sweeping lawns, groups of large oak trees, a serene pond, and pastures where native wildflowers grow — plus the venue’s own longhorns grazing nearby, adding a classic Hill Country touch. Because of this natural beauty, the venue feels like a private ranch retreat — a place where the surrounding landscape becomes a living backdrop for the day.

Maggie Peterson’s florals embraced an autumnal, romantic aesthetic with warm berry and apricot tones layered throughout textural arrangements that felt gathered from the season itself. At the ceremony site, rattan baskets filled with blooms added an organic, meadow-style charm that tied beautifully into the autumn season and the natural landscape. The reception design echoed this layered softness, especially within the serpentine tablescape that flowed gracefully through the Texas Hill Country land. Table setting decor, such as the rattan chargers and the delicate scalloped plates from The Rayes Collection,n added such a touch of whimsy to the otherwise grounded, seasonal palette. BBJ La Tavola’s Nellie Rose Napkin also adorned the table and brought in a soft rose accent that perfectly complemented the muted floral arrangements on the tables. The tablescape was completed with the Marilyn chairs from Bright Event Rentals, whose sculptural, rounded silhouettes introduced a touch of modern glamour to the meadow-inspired setting. Together, the mix of textures, tones, and materials created a cohesive, immersive autumnal design that felt both elevated and effortlessly organic.

[field title=”Favorite Design Element”]

Favorite design elements included: – tiered fabric moments seen in both the ceremony design and statement bar, adding a playful softness to the look and feel of these spaces. – a statement dessert display, featuring custom colored meringues by Olive & Aries. – an invitation suite highlighting a hand-drawn duck, brought to life through decorative elements seen in the bar and lounge area of the day. – The dining set-up in the middle of the open field, with a unique double half-circle table layout, was brought to life in partnership with Bright Event Rentals.

Justin and Jacqueline got engaged in Breckenridge, CO, on Valentine’s Day 2023, but not exactly by design. He had originally planned to propose on 2/15, knowing she’d find a Valentine’s Day proposal a little too cheesy. But an incoming snowstorm quickly changed his plans. The photographer he’d hired called to warn him that by the next day, the weather would be so cold the camera could literally freeze. So on Valentine’s Day morning, Justin got down on one knee as it began to snow, giving them some of Jacqueline’s favorite photos they have ever taken. They spent the rest of the day snowboarding and FaceTiming their friends and family, soaking in every moment. It truly was the perfect day, and now that Hallmark holiday has a very special place in their heart.

Instagram vs. Pinterest for Wedding Vendors: Which Platform Drives More Bookings in 2026?

Every wedding vendor faces the same question: where should I focus my limited social media time? Instagram demands daily attention with Stories, Reels, and feed posts. Pinterest promises evergreen traffic but requires a different strategy entirely. Most vendors spread themselves thin trying to do both half-heartedly, while their competitors master one platform and dominate.

Here’s what the data shows in 2026: the platforms serve fundamentally different purposes, and the “best” choice depends on your business goals, vendor category, and capacity. Instagram builds relationships and brand personality. Pinterest drives website traffic and SEO. The vendors booking consistently aren’t necessarily on both platforms; they’ve strategically chosen where their ideal clients actually are and doubled down there.

The Pinterest Advantage: Discovery and Longevity

Pinterest is a visual search engine, not a social network and that distinction changes everything. When couples search “rustic wedding venues Colorado” or “moody wedding photography,” they’re finding pins that could be months or even years old. Your content has a lifespan measured in years, not hours.

The numbers back this up. Wedding vendors report that Pinterest drives 2-3x more website traffic than Instagram, with significantly higher conversion rates. Why? Intent. Pinterest users are actively planning and searching for solutions, not passively scrolling. When someone clicks your pin to your blog post about “10 Questions to Ask Your Wedding Photographer,” they’re seriously considering hiring a photographer, probably in the next 2-4 weeks.

Pinterest particularly favors certain vendor categories. Venues, photographers, florists, and planners see exceptional results because couples heavily rely on visual inspiration for these services. Stationers, rental companies, and anyone selling physical products also perform well. Service-based vendors like DJs, officiants, and coordinators have a harder time but can succeed with educational content.

The Pinterest strategy that works: vertical pins (1000×1500 pixels) with text overlays describing the content. “Romantic Garden Wedding at [Venue Name]” with a gorgeous image and overlay text performs better than unlabeled photos. Create 3-5 unique pins for each blog post, pinning the same URL with different images and descriptions to maximize reach.

Educational content crushes it on Pinterest. “Wedding Photography Pricing Guide,” “How to Choose Wedding Flowers by Season,” and “Complete Wedding Day Timeline Template” get saved and shared far more than pure portfolio images. These educational pins drive traffic to your website where you can capture emails, showcase your full portfolio, and convert browsers into inquiries.

Pinterest SEO matters enormously. Use keyword-rich titles, descriptions, and board names. “Elegant Garden Weddings in Charleston, SC” beats “Pretty Wedding Inspo.” Pinterest’s algorithm reads text, so describe what’s in your pins thoroughly. Include your location in board titles and pin descriptions. Pinterest prioritizes local results for location-based searches.

The Instagram Reality: Engagement and Trust

Instagram is where relationships happen. Couples don’t just see your work, they see you. Behind-the-scenes Stories, your personality in captions, how you interact in comments. This builds the know-like-trust factor that turns followers into paying clients. You can’t build this kind of connection on Pinterest.

The Instagram algorithm in 2026 prioritizes engagement and “interest signals” over everything else. This means posting consistency matters, but genuine engagement matters more. Three high-quality posts per week that generate saves, shares, and meaningful comments will outperform seven mediocre daily posts that get passive likes.

Reels are unavoidable if you want reach. The algorithm heavily favors video content, with Reels regularly getting 3-5x the reach of static posts. But here’s the catch: viral Reels rarely convert to bookings. A Reel showing a gown reveal might get 50,000 views from random people nationwide, while a carousel post showing your full wedding photography process gets 800 views but generates three inquiries from local engaged couples.

The winning Instagram strategy uses both: Reels for growth and awareness (2-3x weekly), carousels and static posts for conversion and portfolio showcasing (3-4x weekly), and Stories daily to maintain engagement and visibility. Stories boost your feed post reach; Instagram’s algorithm favors accounts that people actively engage with through Stories.

Instagram Stories are your secret weapon. Share behind-the-scenes from weddings (with permission), answer follower questions, share client testimonials, showcase your process, and create polls asking what content people want to see. Stories create authentic touchpoints that build relationships. When someone watches your Stories regularly for months, booking you feels like hiring someone they already know.

Instagram is particularly powerful for service-based vendors. DJs and bands can share ceremony entrance videos. Officiants can share ceremony snippets and testimonials. Hair and makeup artists can show transformations. These services are harder to visualize on Pinterest but perfect for Instagram’s video-first format.

The Hard Truth About Effort vs. Results

Instagram demands significantly more time investment. Creating daily Stories, responding to DMs and comments, filming and editing Reels, and maintaining consistent posting takes 8-12 hours weekly for most vendors. Pinterest, once you have systems in place, requires 2-4 hours weekly to design pins and schedule them to your boards.

But Instagram’s engagement creates stickiness Pinterest can’t match. Your Instagram followers see you regularly, engage with your content, and feel connected to your brand. Pinterest users might never visit your profile directly, they just find individual pins through search. This makes Instagram better for brand building and repeat visibility, while Pinterest excels at one-time discovery moments.

Consider your sales cycle. If you book clients 12-18 months in advance (venues, high-end photographers, planners), Instagram’s consistent brand presence matters enormously. Couples follow you after they get engaged, watch your content for months, and eventually inquire. Pinterest’s traffic is “hot” with couples finding your content when they’re actively researching that specific topic right now.

The Hybrid Approach That Actually Works

Most successful vendors don’t choose, they strategically use both platforms for their unique strengths. Instagram for relationship-building and brand personality. Pinterest for traffic generation and long-term SEO benefits. The key is not doing both half-heartedly but creating content that serves both platforms with minimal extra effort.

Repurpose strategically. Every real wedding you photograph or plan becomes: a blog post on your website (SEO + Pinterest destination), 5-7 Instagram feed posts showcasing highlights, 3-5 Pinterest pins linking to that blog post, and 10-15 Instagram Stories showing behind-the-scenes. One wedding, multiple content pieces, both platforms fed.

Your Instagram content can inform your Pinterest strategy. Which Instagram posts got the most saves? Turn those into Pinterest pins with text overlays. What questions do you get in DMs constantly? Create Pinterest-friendly blog posts answering them comprehensively, then share snippets on Instagram Stories.

Batch create content for efficiency. Dedicate one day monthly to creating 10-15 pin templates in Canva. Schedule them to Pinterest using Tailwind or Pinterest’s native scheduler. Film 8-10 Instagram Reels in a single session, then schedule them weekly. This batching approach makes both platforms sustainable instead of overwhelming.

Making the Choice for Your Business

If you can only commit to one platform right now, here’s how to decide: Choose Pinterest if you’re strong at blogging, create highly visual work, need website traffic for SEO, and book clients through portfolio browsing. Photographers, florists, venues, and rental companies typically succeed fastest on Pinterest.

Choose Instagram if you’re comfortable on camera, your services benefit from showing personality and process, you want direct engagement with your audience, or your work is difficult to represent in still images. Planners, DJs, officiants, hair/makeup artists, and videographers often see better ROI from Instagram.

Can’t choose? Start with whichever platform feels more natural to you, commit to it for 90 days with consistent effort, then add the second platform once you have systems in place. Doing one platform excellently beats doing two platforms poorly.

The vendors winning in 2026 aren’t chasing every algorithm change or trying to be everywhere. They’ve identified where their ideal clients spend time, mastered that platform’s unique dynamics, and show up consistently with valuable content. Whether that’s Instagram, Pinterest, or both, strategic focus always beats scattered presence.

FAQs

  1. Which is better for wedding vendors: Instagram or Pinterest?
Both platforms serve different purposes. Pinterest drives more website traffic and has a longer content lifespan, making it better for SEO and discovery. Instagram builds stronger client relationships and brand personality, making it better for engagement and trust-building. Most successful vendors use both strategically.
  2. Does Pinterest actually lead to wedding vendor bookings?
Yes. Pinterest users are in active planning mode, with 85% of weekly users making purchase decisions on the platform. Wedding vendors report that Pinterest drives 2-3x more website traffic than Instagram, with higher conversion rates because users click through with intent.
  3. How often should wedding vendors post on Instagram in 2026?
Aim for 3-5 feed posts per week plus daily Stories. The 2026 Instagram algorithm prioritizes consistency and engagement over volume. Posting high-quality content 3-4 times weekly with strong engagement performs better than daily mediocre posts.
  4. What type of content performs best on Pinterest for wedding vendors?
Vertical pins (1000x1500px) with text overlays perform best. Real wedding photos with descriptive titles, planning tip graphics, budget guides, and timeline templates get the most saves and clicks. Educational content typically outperforms pure portfolio shots.
  5. Can you succeed as a wedding vendor without Instagram?
It’s possible but difficult. While 78% of engaged couples use Instagram to research vendors, those who focus heavily on Pinterest, SEO, and vendor directories can still build successful businesses without a primary focus on Instagram.
  6. Should wedding vendors use Instagram Reels or static posts?
A balanced strategy is best. Reels provide significantly more reach and help gain new followers, while static carousel posts often drive more direct inquiries from existing followers who are deeper in the booking process.

Want bookings without algorithm chaos? List your business on Style Me Pretty where engaged couples actively search for vendors in your category and location. No posting schedule required, just consistent discovery.

From Serpentine Tables to Hot-Pink Lighting: A Wedding Weekend of Playful Duality

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Pink, yellow, blue, lilac and dark green[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

From the bride: Designing our wedding weekend was a uniquely fun challenge because I’m a bit mercurial when it comes to aesthetics—I fall in love with a lot of different styles. So instead of forcing myself into one lane, we fully embraced the idea of multiple curated moments. Each event became its own little world. For our Welcome Party, I wanted to lean into everything we love most about California—citrus, sunshine, ocean air, and incredible food. That inspired a California Coastal welcome celebration filled with potted citrus trees, playful food activations, beautiful wine, and an easy, sun-kissed elegance. It felt like the perfect way to ground our guests in the place we call home. Our Wedding Day was a true homage to my love of florals and the beautiful, chaotic wonder of nature. I’m endlessly inspired by how wildflowers grow—effortlessly harmonious, perfectly imperfect, and stunning in their unexpected pairings. That philosophy guided every design decision. We played with organic shapes through a mix of serpentine, circular, and rectangular tables, creating a natural flow that mimicked the winding paths found in nature. My aisle was intentionally designed as a meandering garden trail, as if I were wandering through blooms on my way to the altar. For dinner, I wanted our guests celebrate dining al fresco under the stars—romantic, glowing, intimate—surrounded by flowers and soft chandelier light in the middle of a dreamlike garden party. Our After Party was a complete tonal shift in the best way—an ode to our barhopping and club days, when neon and bold prints had an absolute chokehold on us. We went all-in with a Neon Jungle theme: leather accents, animal prints, banana leaves, hot-pink lighting, black-candlelit entrance, and the most dramatic black on black, five tier cake you have ever seen. It was playful, nostalgic, and the perfect high-energy finale to the night.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Oh boy, where do I even start! Brandon and I are notoriously terrible at surprising each other. Not because we’re nosey or ruin things on purpose—we’re just the kind of people who get so excited about giving gifts that we can’t help but spill the beans. Because of this, I’m very used to being in the loop on just about everything… it’s simply what works for us.
So when Brandon confidently told me in the summer of 2023 that we’d be engaged by the end of the year, it basically kicked off a very intense, very competitive game between the two of us. As the holidays approached, I became completely convinced he was going to propose on New Year’s Eve. It checked every box: it would literally fulfill “engaged by the end of the year,” he’d been oddly adamant about locking down plans two months in advance, and he insisted it be just the two of us. In my mind, I had cracked the code.
I was… very wrong.
On Christmas Eve, we made brunch plans at one of my favorite spots in town—Corbeaux Wine and Tea House. When we checked in, the hostess heard our names and got very excited before quickly trying to play it cool. She led us straight to my favorite table, the cozy couch seat. I genuinely thought we had just lucked out.
We settled in, started browsing the menu, and—much to Brandon’s horror—I asked if we could order immediately because I was starving. Normally we take our time at restaurants, so this was completely off-script. I remember thinking Brandon was acting a little weird; he was on his phone more than usual and he drank his wine much faster than normal. Little did I know he was frantically coordinating with my brother-in-law and the restaurant staff, answering questions about whether to hide the ring in my food or champagne (he wisely opted for neither).
When our food arrived, I noticed Brandon looking around like something was missing. And then—out of nowhere—he dropped to one knee right next to the coffee table. He asked me to marry him, and I was truly speechless. He actually got me. After I said yes, we just sort of stared at each other until I finally laughed and reminded him he needed to put the ring on my finger. I think he was still recovering from the shock of pulling off a real surprise!
Later he admitted he had been scanning the room because he wasn’t sure how to get down on one knee. The couch was deep and the table was a low coffee table, so he wasn’t sure if he’d knock our food over trying to wedge himself between them. I’m happy to report he navigated it flawlessly.
We spent the rest of the day visiting family—who all knew, by the way—and then wandered around the city we love. And I took every opportunity to tell absolutely everyone at every bar and restaurant that yes…I had said YES.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]From the very beginning, I knew I wanted to work with LoveEra Bridal Boutique. Alexandria, the owner, curates the most exquisite blend of classic silhouettes and modern details — a perfect match for my style. I also knew early on that I’d be a multi-dress bride (see that mercurial spirit making another appearance?).
For my ceremony and reception, I wanted a gown that felt timeless yet carried the touch of drama I’m always drawn to. I chose a Jane Hill design featuring a sweetheart neckline with delicate underbust detailing — a nod to classic bridal elegance — paired with a dramatic overskirt and thigh-high slit that added just the right amount of flair. With the help of Anita, my bridal fairy godmother, we made a few thoughtful alterations to make the gown truly mine: adding straps for comfort, taking in the skirt at the thigh for a more sculpted silhouette, and adding wristbands so I could hold my train with maximum drama.
Our wedding design celebrated both my hometown of Temecula and Brandon’s beloved Rhode Island — the Ocean State. I reflected that connection in my bridal styling: a cathedral-length pearl veil paired with pearl and gold jewelry and a delicate crown that made me feel like an oceanic queen — subtle and ethereal, the kind of beauty that invites a second look. Alexandria guided me every step of the way; her eye for balance and detail helped bring the entire vision to life.
For the after-party, I slipped into another Jane Hill piece — a long-sleeved mini dress with a sweetheart neckline, sheer corset bodice, and full beading that shimmered perfectly under the lights. It was the ultimate blend of glam and luxury — the perfect finale to a night I’ll never forget.

When it came to our wedding party, my focus was on finding looks that were both flattering and attainable — but also a true reflection of the florals and natural elements that inspired our overall décor. As I mentioned before, I love a sense of chaotic harmony, and that vision extended to my bridesmaids. I’ve always adored the look of mismatched bridesmaid dresses. When done thoughtfully, they don’t distract — they enhance the entire aesthetic. I spent quite a bit of time searching for a brand that offered the exact color palette I envisioned, along with flattering silhouettes and quality fabrics that my girls could wear again. Show Me Your Mumu was the perfect choice! The colors were exactly as pictured, the variety of styles suited every body type, and the quality was exceptional. I loved that each bridesmaid could express her own personality while still creating a cohesive, organic look.

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]For the groomsmen, we wanted attire that felt timeless yet vibrant — the perfect balance of polished and playful. We chose tan suits from Friar Tux paired with floral ties, which echoed the color story of the bridesmaids and the surrounding scenery. Together, the bridal party embodied that same “chaotic harmony” I love so much — perfectly balanced, effortlessly beautiful, and full of personality.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

From the bride: Food and drink were two of the elements Brandon and I were most passionate about when planning our wedding. From the very beginning, we told Michelle and Chef Hany that we wanted our guests to experience food they would talk about for years to come. We both love nothing more than an excellent dinner shared with close friends and family — there’s truly nothing better than the bonds and conversations that unfold over great food and cocktails. Our cultures influenced the mood we hoped to create for the evening — both of us come from backgrounds known for their vibrant people and incredible cuisine. For our wedding day, we opted for a traditional Italian dinner with a touch of theatrical flair (can you tell I have an opera background?). Cocktail hour took inspiration from the charming Mercato Italian Deli, both in décor and flavor. Guests enjoyed some of our favorite bites — lasagna, pizza, a lavish charcuterie station, and so much more. My favorite touch, though, was our lovely caviar attendant. My love of caviar knows no bounds, and this was such a fun and approachable way to introduce and celebrate one of my favorite delicacies. Dinner itself was designed to feel cozy yet elevated — a true reflection of our love for food and connection. Curating the menu with Chef Hany was a seamless and inspiring experience; it was an honor to witness his passion for creating such heartwarming culinary moments. We talked through our favorite dishes and found ways to make each one shine while celebrating seasonal ingredients. I’m passionate about using what nature gives us, and Southern California makes that easy! Every bite reflected Chef Hany’s artistry, our shared love of food, and our desire to connect everyone through this experience. The pasta wheel was not only delicious but such a fun twist on a classic — guests are still talking about it! We ended the meal with my favorite dessert on the property: tiramisu. Every bite was pure magic. Both of us come from the alcohol industry, which naturally shaped our bar program — especially our signature cocktails. We’re both lovers of classic, spirit-forward drinks. I’ve always said you can tell a lot about a bar by its whiskey sour and its dirty martini! So, of course, our signature cocktails had to be a Classic Old Fashioned for Brandon and a Dirty Vodka Martini for me — each with a personal touch we curated with Max and his incredible bar team. Brandon’s Old Fashioned stayed true to tradition but featured a subtle twist with walnut bitters — small but mighty, adding warmth and depth. As for me, I’m wildly particular about my martinis: ice cold, a vermouth rinse, and make it dusty. Not only did Max and his team nail the assignment, but they also made sure I had the coldest martini known to mankind whenever I needed one.

In keeping with the harmonious chaos vision, the bride wanted the florals to look fresh-picked and wild amongst the polished and curated hardscape. Abundant. lush and whimsical, striking that beautiful artistic balance.

The wedding cake was served at the after-party! It was a fun jungle design to tie in with the overall after-party theme. This was an intentional recommendation of mine to complement the espresso martinis here. Tiramisu was also served as a plated dessert at the end of dinner, so this was a way to spread out all the food offerings at this wedding and keep the party going.

LOCATION FLIP! Thanks to her organization and expertise, we had our entire three-day celebration fully planned and buttoned up six months before the big day. Then, I threw a major curveball three months out: I wanted to completely flip the spaces — an indoor ceremony and an outdoor garden dinner. This meant a full redesign and transforming a traditional ballroom into the ceremony space of my dreams. Not only did Michelle make it happen, but she nailed it. She knew exactly which vendors to bring in and executed it flawlessly.
