The design vision for this celebration centered around a lovely garden aesthetic, blending soft, romantic touches with a refined sense of ease. We aimed to create an atmosphere that felt Home & Garden–inspired – fresh, organic, and thoughtfully curated – while maintaining a sense of seamless flow throughout the day. Every detail was chosen to evoke quiet luxury, allowing the natural beauty of the surroundings and the couple’s style to shine through in an elevated yet effortless way.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Katie flew out to San Diego to meet Jacob during a work trip that happened to fall the week before her birthday – at least, that’s what she thought. Unbeknownst to her, he had been traveling with an engagement ring tucked away for the entirety of his trip. He planned a celebratory dinner on the bay under the pretense of her birthday weekend, and afterward led her to the enchanting grounds of Balboa Park. There, surrounded by its historic architecture and lush pathways, Jacob got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.[/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]
During cocktail hour, passed appetizers and specialty drinks, including the crowd-favorite Honeycrisp Sangria, offered a refreshing and seasonal touch. Dinner featured an indulgent trio of entrées – pecan-crusted halibut, mushroom ravioli, and Cabernet-braised beef short ribs – each plated with artistry and served with table-side wine service, ensuring a truly elevated dining experience. To close the evening on a warm, nostalgic note, guests enjoyed a honey-butter chicken biscuit as the late-night snack, the perfect comforting bite to accompany a night of celebration. The florals and décor were carefully and thoughtfully curated by Dana Jensen of Lovely Event Co., resulting in a design that embodied light, quiet luxury,y while still feeling intimately like home. Black House Blooms brought the vision to life with lush, garden-style arrangements, selecting blooms that felt both intentional and effortlessly beautiful – each stem contributing to the overall sense of refined romance. To elevate the aesthetic, specialty linens from Nauge and Top Tier Event Rentals paired seamlessly with upgraded chairs, creating a cohesive garden-inspired atmosphere. The tablescapes were a true highlight, featuring stacked chargers and plates that added depth and dimension, while upgraded glassware introduced an elegant, upscale finish. The paper goods were equally memorable, with menus and stationery designed by Moon Mippy, tying together the soft, elevated palette. The reception space was further transformed by a custom monogrammed dance floor and a stage façade wrapped in the same pattern as the couple’s envelope liner, expertly executed by Imperial Floors. The result was a serene, luxurious environment – quiet luxury woven with personal details – that felt both elevated and wonderfully at home.

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]
Katie and Jacob’s wedding ceremony was made even more enchanting by the beautiful performance of Serenata Strings. Their live arrangement of “Wildest Dreams” by Taylor Swift set the perfect tone as Katie walked down the aisle, creating a moment that felt cinematic and truly unforgettable. To add an even more personal touch, two of Jacob’s groomsmen delivered heartfelt readings during the ceremony. Their words brought warmth, meaning, and a sense of closeness that reflected the couple’s bond with the people they love most.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]One of the most meaningful moments of the day was the traditional Crowning Ceremony, an important ritual in the Maronite Catholic Church, a branch of the Catholic faith with roots in the Middle East. During this sacred tradition, the bride and groom are crowned as the king and queen of their new home, symbolizing the creation of their own family and the honor, responsibility, and unity they carry into marriage. It was a profoundly beautiful and culturally rich highlight that added depth and reverence to their ceremony.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]
A tented wedding wasn’t part of the original plan for Katie and Jacob, but when rain loomed in the forecast, the celebration needed a swift and thoughtful pivot. With any fully outdoor wedding, having a solid Plan B is essential – and this day proved exactly why. Skilled planner Dana Jensen had put the new layout and timeline into play, transforming the space to suit what became a very rainy day and an exceptionally tight two-hour setup window. With teamwork, precision, and creative problem-solving, the result was a beautifully executed tented celebration that kept every detail intact and every guest comfortable- rain or shine.

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Despite the unpredictable weather, photographer Sami Kathryn and videographer Lizzie Christine Allen worked with incredible speed and artistry to ensure Katie and Jacob didn’t miss a single important moment. With rain showers coming and going throughout the afternoon, they expertly navigated the tight windows of clear skies – guiding the couple through portraits, wedding party photos, and meaningful candid moments in between the downpours.[/field]
