A Romantic Rehearsal Dinner Overlooking the Ocean

We started off with a Welcome Party to remember and now we’re at the Rehearsal Dinner for our epic Hawaiian wedding weekend. Joel Serrato captured every second and for this romantic rehearsal, we have leis, cocktails and sweet moments on a golf course overlooking the ocean. Is this real life!? Oh yes it is!
P.S. Check out the BIG DAY aka the wedding on our Main Page right now too!

From the Bride… When you have the ability to have a party on the golf course in Lana’i at sunset you definitely take advantage. We wanted our guests to be able to take in the beautiful views while enjoying cocktails and canapes the night before the big day. We greeted all the female guests with a lei which continued to embrace the Aloha spirit and also made for some cute pictures.

A Tropical Vacay That Ends With a Really Gorgeous Wedding

For this Bride and Groom, a dream wedding entailed a multi-day celebration that felt like a vacation for friends and family and just so happened to end with a really great party. We like the way they think! The Four Seasons Lana’i played host to this tropical affair crafted by Brooke Keegan Special Events and Mandy Grace Designs. Imagine the undeniable beauty of Hawaii paired with elegant, tropical details all captured by Joel Serrato, plus a film by Aaron Novak too.

From the bride… Michael and I both agreed that our perfect wedding would be a multi-day celebration that felt like a vacation and ended with a wedding. What better place to make this happen than the Four Seasons Lana’i. When we were choosing our wedding location one of our favorite parts of Lana’i was that all of our guests would stay together on the same property and that all of our events would also take place at various locations throughout the resort. Once our wedding location was finalized, we kicked off planning with Brooke Keegan and quickly developed our vision for the weekend. We wanted our wedding weekend to be destination appropriate, fun, authentic, thoughtful but not overdone, timeless, festive and most importantly memorable. Everything that Brooke created was spot on. The color palette, unique details, the team she built, her creativity, all came together to create the most perfectly curated island wedding. After dining and dancing under a full moon we capped off the night with the most incredible display of fireworks. Our wedding exceeded every expectation that we ever had –– everything was perfect!

Pineapple Margaritas in Hawaii… Can We Get An Invite To This Welcome Party ASAP!?

A destination wedding in Hawaii is pretty fabulous in and of itself but add in a whole celebratory weekend and this is not to be missed. To kick off festivities, the Bride and Groom hosted a welcome party complete with pineapple margaritas and live music (does it get any better!?). Captured by Joel Serrato, we have all the fun below – and more coming all day long. Don’t miss the engagement (live now on our Main Page!) and the rehearsal dinner and wedding later on today!

From the Bride… Michael and I were so excited to start the celebrations and to welcome our guests that we couldn’t even wait for the official welcome party. We had a welcome party before the welcome party and greeted every single shuttle as it arrived from the airport. When official festivities kicked off, we hosted all of our guests with a colorful welcome party starring pineapple margaritas and mai tai’s. All of our guests mingled to live music and amazing food prepared by Malibu Farms. We incorporated a number of playful details such as our custom cocktail napkins with the phrase, “Party Like A Pineapple” which really set the tone for a relaxed fun filled weekend. This was the perfect way to welcome everyone to Lana’i, spend quality time with our guests and celebrate the spirit of aloha.

Hawaii Destination Wedding at the Four Seasons Lanai

When Julie Paisley steps behind the camera, we know we are in for a treat. And when she gets to capture a wedding as special as this one designed by Martin Roberts Production: By Casey Sparks, well, we thank our lucky stars. Because it means we get a to stare at images that just seem too good to be true, but luckily for this Bride and Groom, they were a gorgeous reality. See it all here.

From Julie PaisleyEvery once and awhile you have one of those weddings that just take your breath away. This was one of those weddings. Rita and Mike planned a destination wedding that was beautiful in details but most importantly was about family. Family flew in from all over the country and for 3 days they celebrated in beautiful Lanai Hawaii. The wedding was not your traditional Hawaiian beach wedding. Rita incorporated more of a southern rustic feel with beautiful florals and texture. Rita and Mike chose to only have their children and nieces as part as the wedding party as well as their parents who stood up with them during the ceremony. As a photographer, it was such an honor to be present and when Rita’s father (who is battling Parkinson’s disease) surprised her with a Father/Daughter dance, there was not a dry eye in the house. This wedding is so beautiful and needs to be shared and I hope SMP is the perfect fit.

Four Seasons Lanai Elopement

When you even let out the smallest whisper of the name Wendy Laurel around these parts, you’ll immediately have everyone’s attention. We are kind of big fans. Ok, maybe huge. And the images below and sitting in this gallery of this sweet Hawaiian elopement at the Four Seasons Resort are the perfect examples of why. See them all here.

This sweet couple traveled all the way from the East Coast for a special elopement on the island of Lanai. Lanai is a private island and the Four Seasons have two resorts there.. Manele Bay is on the beach. Shelby and Justin were excited for their wedding and had a perfect day. They got ready in their rooms then met in the garden for a first look. Then we headed down to the beach on a very calm late afternoon for their sunset ceremony. The whole time during the ceremony, there was a pod of dolphins playing and jumping just off shore. Im not sure the couple noticed they were so busy looking into each other’s eyes but it was very special and not something that happens every day. After the ceremony, the couple headed up to an oceanfront cabana for a candlelit dinner and champagne.

Manele Bay Wedding at the Four Seasons Resort from Trish Barker Photography

When this Manele Bay wedding first popped up on my radar, it was love at first sight. But after carefully poring through every aspect of this gorgeous day, I’m convinced it’s perfect. Because on top of all the scenic gorgeousness at the Four Seasons Resort, Manele Bay and the stunning shots by Trish Barker Photography, this beautiful bride designed her very own dress. Pretty awesome, right? Click here for all that plus sooo much more.

From TrishBill is a doctor, Jessica is a physician’s assistant. They met at work, fell in love, and the rest is history.

They chose the gorgeous Four Season’s Resort at Manele Bay for the beautiful and intimate wedding. She designed her own dress, which I was drooling over the whole time. Just gorgeous.

It wasn’t supposed to rain. The sky was blue and everything was set up outside. But just after we finished their romantic photos, and just as the food was brought out, it began to downpour. The bride was, obviously, a bit distressed. But we saw an opportunity with the rain and the umbrellas and started a little “mini” shoot in the rain. It was awesome… my favorite part… and it completely distracted the bride from the fact that it was raining on her wedding. And by the time we were done, the rain had passed, the sky cleared up again and their celebration continued into the night.

In Hawaii, it’s considered a blessing if it rains on your wedding. A good sign. It definitely resulted in a good time and some of my favorite shots of the day.
