This Mama-To-Be Bride was Glowing on Her Wedding Day

A wedding day in itself is already filled with so much joy. But when the Bride has a little extra reason to glow thanks to a sweet babe on the way? That joy is taken to the next level my friends and this beauty is proof. How lovely is that dress?! K and K Photography and Voila Cinematic captured Bob & Kristie’s entire day with such care and you can melt over it all in The Vault.

From the Bride… After many years of thinking that ‘Happily Ever After’ was only a thing only in fairytales, we met and finally all of those cheesy, ooey-gooey, love-filled songs on the radio made sense. It was head over heels from day one…not your ordinary love, one of great magnitude and a depth that would make the ocean blush (I bet all of you brides reading this, can nod your head in agreement about your special someone, too!). We knew we were going to spend eternity together and start a family.

Okay, so you’ve found the perfect man—now you need to find the perfect venue, dress, flowers, cake, food… is your head starting to spin yet? I was in your shoes. Bob and I are very laid back and wanted our wedding to reflect that trait. We stumbled upon Cross Creek Ranch, as it is just minutes from our home and had stellar reviews—we had to see it for ourselves. From the first visit with the extremely helpful staff and coordinators there (that will soon turn into members of your own family) we knew we had our dream venue. Majestic oak trees, winding pathways, blooming gardens, and rustic character touches make this property stand out from your typical ‘cookie-cutter’ venue.

As if this venue was not naturally stunning as it, Alta Fleura shipped in over 10,000 flowers to add a sense (and smell) of romanticism. This extremely skillful team assembled a live flower wall that weighed over 800 lbs and smelled even more fragrant than it weighed! They covered the bridge that quaintly stretched over the bubbling brook below. Everywhere your eyes took you, there were flowers splashed so elegantly, accentuating the beautiful decor.

We chose soft blush and gold tones to play up the romantic, free-flowing, relaxed atmosphere that we had in our minds. Most importantly, we wanted our guests to have fun, feel comfortable, and soak up all the love in the air. Think about all of those boring, drawn-out, look at your watch every 10 minute kind of weddings that you had the ‘pleasure’ of attending (sorry, but you know what I’m talking about!) Our friends and family have been there for us through it all and we wanted our wedding to be but a small gift to them for all that they have done. Think about it, these are your most favorite people in the world!

After a teary-eyed first peek, where we exchanged cards to one another, it was time to say ‘I Do’. Pastor Brian led the ceremony inside the chapel that had 150 year old wood floors & our famous flower wall… I wish I could have one in my house 24/7! The ceremony was sentimental, had a few crowd-pleasing laughs, tears, and of course a BIG KISS! Pastor Brian was very down to earth and relatable, enough that our guests felt the connection to us and to their special someone as well. It was short and sweet. The perfect amount… we said I Do and everyone walked across the lawn to cocktail hour, just outside the rustic barn area where they were greeted with our signature drinks: “Something Blue” and “Say ‘I DO’ Sangria”. Everyone loved them!

No one wants to be stuck in uncomfortable shoes, sweating hot and listening to elevator music, so I made sure to have some fun DIY crafts on hand: Lavender Oshiburi towels (refrigerated) to keep guests cool, hand-held fans to ensure you were feeling the breeze, flip flops by the dance floor so no on had an excuse NOT to get up and bust-a-move, and a few other personal touches. We truly made our wedding day our own… and it was so special, not just for us but for everyone involved.

The sun began to set, dinner was in our bellies, cake served, and everyone was still talking about how VESH Catering & Alessi Bakery truly delivered—this was not your typical wedding food and our cake was moist and flavorful! Okay, now I’m daydreaming about prime rib and chocolate cheesecake layered cake. The bonfire was lit and s’mores were a huge hit with our guests, who doesn’t feel like a worry-free kid again eating gooey s’more?!

K&K Photography and Violá Cinematic immersed themselves into our wedding, they were extremely professional without being stale and the ‘typical’ stand here, say cheese, do this, do that kind of photographer/cinematographer. They allowed us to be ourselves… laugh, crack jokes, shed a sentimental tear, and enjoy the moment. The photos and videos truly reflect the love and fun that was at our wedding.

My favorite part of our wedding day, is that our Son, Tyler was able to experience it with us… from inside my tummy. Yes, I was 6 1/2 months pregnant at the time of my wedding. It was a beautiful experience. Having said that… most brides would cringe about trying to locate a dress for their ever-growing baby bump. My dress, with the help & style guidance from the super-fun employees of The White Magnolia, could not have been any more perfect. It was ‘me’, not ‘pregnant me’. I loved how it was tailored in just the rights spots and free-flowing and whimsical.

When going to plan your special day, my advice is to think of things from your guest’s perspective. Don’t go overboard trying to plan every minute, but think about what’s important to you and yours & share those elements with your guests. It will authenticate your special day and allow everyone to partake in that grand love you two share. Wishing you all a beautiful wedding and a story-book love that lasts until the end of time.

Central Florida Cross Creek Ranch Wedding from Amalie Orrange Photography

This morning’s dose of  sweetness comes to us via the lens of the oh-so-talented Amalie Orrange Photography, and for that I couldn’t be more grateful. Because their images are not only beautiful, but they also tell a story of two people, two families coming together all because a little love was sprinkled on them. Surrounded by the most precious of details and the most stunning of ranch settings at Cross Creek Ranch, it’s pretty obvious this couple was just beyond happy to say I do. And honestly, what’s more fabulous than that? See it all here.

From Jeff & Amalie Orrange from Amalie Orrange PhotographyDriving to Cross Creek Ranch from our home in Orlando felt like we are on our way to the middle of nowhere, and that got me thinking.  What the middle of nowhere is for one is the center of life for another.  When wedding days happen, no matter where they happen, that time, that place and those people who partake are in the center of the universe.  To the couple getting married, even if the closest other person isn’t for miles, it wouldn’t matter.  The only thing that would matter is the love and the laughter and the friendship that only a wedding day could bring.

I saw first hand the center of the Universe for Jamie and Josh on their wedding day.  I saw the family gathered, the friends rejoicing, and the love that was being witnessed by all.  I saw the nerves, the smiles and the dances.  I saw old friends give speeches, I saw a mother dance with her son, and father dance with his little girl, I even saw a horse head photo-bomb the portraits.  Yes, even though it felt like a long drive for me, it did not feel far away at all.

These two love each other, that is apparent as soon as you meet them and I hope it is as apparent in the images that we took.  Their day was fun, laid back, and even had a bonfire for roasting marshmallows.  The beautiful Cross Creek Ranch could not have fit these two any better.  Yes, I have to say, this was right in the center of everything.  Jamie and Josh, thank you for inviting us in and letting us share this amazing day we will never forget it.

Here’s to Jamie and Josh: May wherever you to are be home, and may home always be the center of the Universe.

Dover Wedding at Cross Creek Ranch by Tina Bass Photography

This is one of those weddings that’s going to pull at your heartstrings! We’re channeling Cinco de Mayo in early fall with this festive celebration by Tina Bass Photography. Complete with a piñata, mason jars, fire pit and more, the Cross Creek Ranch set the perfect tone for a sophisticated and rustic wedding. There are so many impressive photos from this day that you’ll have to head to the full gallery for more.

From Tina Bass PhotographyI love not only this wedding but also this couple. The wedding was held at the beautiful Cross Creek Ranch and was a Cinco de Mayo celebration! I loved all the pops of color set against such a rustic venue. I met Robyn and James on the day of the wedding because James had a crazy work schedule that didn’t allow any time for an engagement session. It’s always a little nerve-wrecking as a photographer to not really know your clients, but I felt like I was a part of the family from the get-go. They are just such a sweet and appreciative couple with amazing chemistry. Their guests were definitely an extension of them as well. It was truly a photographer’s dream wedding. Not only in details but also in the joy that was in the air that day.

Cross Creek Ranch Wedding by Caroline & Evan Photography

There’s nothing quite like a rustic chic soiree to cure those mid-week blues and this stunning Cross Creek Ranch affair is just what the doctor ordered and more with its gorgeous yellow and gray hues, breathtaking ceremony space and stunning bride and groom.  Plus, the favors are mason jars filled with trail mix and I can’t even begin to tell you how much I l.o.v.e that.  It’s a good thing that Caroline & Evan Photography was on hand to capture each and every amazing moment (Did I mention the bonfire with s’mores?), because I have some serious swooning to do.  Join me in the gallery for all of the pretty!

From the Bride… Girl from upstate NY marries boy from the South. A rustic ranch wedding in the spring, with BBQ and trail mix served in mason jars, was in order for us when saying, “I DO!”  We named the tables after places that meant something to us and made round escort cards that hung on a clothesline for guests to find their tables. The ring bearer/flower girl are brother and sister but not quite old enough to walk the aisle and sit still so we used a wagon to pull them in and still include them! We also incorporated birds where we could (as you can see on the invite and cupcakes, as well as walking down the aisle).  For fun, we had horseshoes, a bonfire with s’mores, dancing and also a photo booth with props.

Florida Wedding by Photography by Beulah

We don’t get to see many ranch weddings from Florida around here and that is really just such a shame.  Especially after seeing this gorgeous, dream of a wedding by Photography by Beulah!  There is a light, airy feeling to the whole event and I can see why they would dub their theme “creamsicle union”.  It’s peaches and cream palette and delightful, vintage charm are just sweet, Southern perfection.  Click here to see even more!

From the bride…The wedding was at a picturesque ranch in Dover, FL.  Cross Creek Ranch. We fell in love with the quiet atmosphere, beautiful trees, wooden stable and accommodating crew. The coordinators prepared all of the necessities and great hospitality.  The theme was a creamsicle union.  Since it was a summer wedding in Florida i wanted light and airy shades of peaches and cream to distract from May’s heat.  Cross Creek Ranch designed and decorated the wedding in every way.  It was beautiful! Instead of picking out a modern white dress I chose to wear my mothers 1960s vintage wedding dress, which I’ve played dress up in since I was 12.  I made minor alterations, taking out the back lining to create a diamond shaped opening around my back and taking up the hem since I wore flats with it, instead of heels.  The headband for my veil was from etsy and the birdcage veil was designed last minute by my sister.
