We grew up in the same neighborhood, went to the same high school, and even spent summers at the same pool, and destiny finally brought us together in 2021. Knowing how much my family’s second home in Cabo means to me, Chris planned a surprise trip for just the two of us, along with my two best friends (who became my maids of honor), his brother (his best man), and their significant others. On the beach at the Esperanza, with rose petals scattered and the ocean as our backdrop, he proposed. We spent the next few hours with private drinks on the sand, making the moment feel utterly magical and intimate.

Together, we designed my gown: a strapless dress with a structured corset bodice and dramatic train, crafted from intricate, romantic Italian lace, paired with a cathedral-length veil lined in matching lace. Every detail was more beautiful than I could have imagined, and the memories made with Livia and her team are ones I’ll cherish forever. A piece of the eternal city was forever sewn into our wedding day.[/field]

I walked down the aisle to “Patience” by The Lumineers — a subtle nod to our roots in Colorado. Ever since I first heard that song, I knew I needed to walk down the aisle to it. It feels like what love would sound like if it had a voice.

During dinner, I surprised Chris and our guests with a live performance inspired by The Phantom of the Opera. A brilliantly talented tenor, dressed as the Phantom, made a dramatic entrance and then serenaded us with “Music of the Night.” It was an especially meaningful moment for us — we both grew up loving Phantom, and a few years into our relationship, we flew to New York to see it on Broadway before it closed. To this day, that is still our favorite date.

We chose a pastel-forward palette for fall, anchored in lilac and chartreuse — two colors that felt joyful, bold, and expressive of our personalities. To soften and round out the palette, we layered in tones of soft peach, creating a three-color harmony that felt fresh, romantic, and unexpected for the season. These colors became the heartbeat of the design, shaping everything from florals to signage to textiles.

Our design vision was to create an immersive, emotional garden party with Italian soul — a wedding that felt whimsical, bold, romantic, and deeply personal. As both the bride and planner/designer behind Carissa Corsi Events, I approached the day as a layered sensory experience. Organic florals incorporated fruits and vegetables for depth and texture, while the tented reception featured sculptural drum shades, a custom dance floor mirroring our stationery’s botanical motif, and patterned linens that played with movement and dimension. Italian influences were woven throughout: our custom wine window, Cantina de Forloney, café-style bar seating, trifold menus with espresso martini place cards, and my grandmother’s Italian cookies at each setting. The goal was for guests to not just see the design, but to feel immersed in it.

We got engaged during a Christmas family photo shoot in our new home. While we were in the backyard taking photos, the videographer quietly entered through the front door and hid in a nearby room. Anthony slipped inside to meet her, light the fireplace, and grab the ring. When I came back into the house, the photographer positioned us chest-to-chest in front of the fireplace — then asked me to turn toward the hallway. The videographer stepped out from hiding, Anthony began his speech, and with a mix of nerves and excitement, he popped the question. It was intimate, emotional, and perfectly us.

I paired the gown with Gucci shoes, David Yurman jewelry, and Gucci perfume to keep my look elevated, modern, and intentionally styled. My look was meant to feel soft, editorial, and feminine while still embracing that romantic garden-party energy. For beauty, I chose natural glam — soft, radiant skin, neutral tones, and a classic half-up style that felt effortless and timeless. It balanced the romance of my dress while still feeling modern and fresh. Groom’s Fashion: Anthony wore a classic black-tie look with thoughtfully curated details to elevate the simplicity. He paired his tux with Gucci loafers, Gucci cologne, and a Movado watch. His look was timeless, clean, and intentionally understated to complement the overall palette and design direction of the day without overpowering it.

The bridesmaids wore mismatched pastel dresses that created a soft, luminous palette across yellow, orange, lilac, green, and pink. To elevate their looks, each bridesmaid carried a monochromatic floral bouquet in a color different from her dress, creating a tonal twist. Pastel-on-pastel pairings (like lilac florals with peach dresses, or soft orange florals with greens) made the wedding party feel curated, dimensional, and fashion-forward.

Food and beverage played a huge role in creating an immersive, Italian-inspired guest experience. During cocktail hour, we served Aperol Spritzes from our custom wine window, Cantina de Forloney, while a full complimentary bar offered additional signature drinks. Six passed appetizers made their way around the garden alongside passed red and white wine, ensuring guests always had something to enjoy. Every guest who visited the wine window received a custom cocktail stirrer featuring an illustration of my own hand — a special touch my stationer drew for us — and custom napkins with our puppies sketched on them were passed with appetizers and stocked at the bar. Dinner began with a burrata salad, followed by an intermezzo pasta course, and a choice of three entrées, with wine continuously poured table-side throughout the evening. We displayed my grandmother’s homemade Italian cookies at every table as a heartfelt nod to our heritage, giving guests a sentimental (and delicious) treat. One of our favorite food moments came later in the evening: passed espresso martinis on the dance floor, tying back to our trifold menu design and the espresso-martini place cards. Guests absolutely loved this surprise — it became one of the most talked-about elements of the night. We also offered a mini dessert display, an espresso cart, and a small, untraditional, rectangle-shaped cutting cake to round out the experience.

Rather than traditional arrangements, we focused on movement, shape, and texture. Each bridesmaid held a monochromatic bouquet in a pastel tone different from her dress, creating a soft but intentional contrast that photographed beautifully and tied into the broader design story.

The ceremony took place in the garden and was intentionally kept natural and romantic, with florals designed to blend into the environment and feel like an extension of the landscape. From there, guests flowed into cocktail hour on the lawn, where our custom wine window, Cantina de Forloney, created a focal point layered with florals and tonal details tying back to Italy and our first trip to Florence.

Inside the tent, we created a dimensional environment filled with depth and discovery. Our custom dance floor featured a botanical pattern inspired by our envelope liner, and we carried that pattern into the sculptural drum shades suspended overhead — connecting the design from floor to ceiling. The reception layout was intentionally varied, incorporating mixed linens, textures, and pops of lilac and chartreuse to keep the space visually dynamic.

The L-shaped bar with café-style seating made the tent feel welcoming and experiential, while the tables were layered with taper candles, fruit-forward florals, and patterned accents that tied the entire palette together. Every detail — from the trifold menus to the stir sticks to the table-level styling — was chosen to feel emotional, personal, and intentional, creating a cohesive wedding design that was bold, romantic, and full of personality.[/field]

Our cake was intentionally untraditional — a modern rectangular design that contrasted beautifully with the organic, romantic florals throughout the day. We kept the decoration minimal to let the shape and color stand out, allowing it to feel like a sculptural moment within the reception. Paired with our espresso bar, mini dessert display, and my grandmother’s homemade Italian cookies placed at every table, the cake became part of a larger, thoughtful dessert experience that tied the night together.

We incorporated so many meaningful music choices throughout the day. Our wedding party walked in to the instrumental version of “IFLY” by Bazzi — a nod to our untraditional first dance song later that night. I walked down the aisle to “Simply the Best” by Noah Reid, and right before I began my walk, I surprised Anthony by getting on the mic and quoting lyrics from “Dibs” by Kelsea Ballerini, a song I’ve always sung to him. His reaction was priceless, and it’s one of my favorite moments we captured on video. For the reception, our first dance was the full version of “IFLY” by Bazzi, which felt modern, emotional, and perfectly “us.” My dad and I also chose to do a fun, upbeat father-daughter dance that had everyone smiling. One of the most emotional parts of the night was when I called my mom, sister, aunt, and cousin onto the dance floor to honor my grandmother with “There You’ll Be” by Faith Hill — a moment full of love, connection, and family.

One of our favorite design elements was Cantina de Forloney, our custom wine window inspired by our first trip to Florence. It became the centerpiece of cocktail hour and offered guests a playful, interactive moment where they received Aperol spritzes and custom stirrers illustrated with my own hand drawing.

We also designed an L-shaped bar with stool seating, inspired by our love of Italian bars and the way people casually sit, sip, and socialize over apertifs. This detail completely transformed the reception energy and made the bar feel like a destination within the space.

A Lighthearted Wedding Fueled by Dancing and Zero Expectations at Villa Pizzo

We wanted the entire focus of the day to be around our guests, family, and friends having a good time. The top priority and most important thing for us was encouraging dancing, fun, laughter, and overall happiness. The vibe from the moment we woke up that morning to the last moment of the evening was to have 0 stress, not take things too seriously, and simply enjoy each moment, even if they don’t go as planned. Our vision was to essentially treat this as one big lighthearted party with our favorite people rather than a wedding to worry over.

We first met at a soccer match in Rome in 2018. I was playing, and he was the referee – it was a very chance meeting,g and we thought we would never see each other again, but Naz found me and persisted. We dated long distance for about 2 years and always traveled together, so for our engagement,nt I didn’t think anything of it when he planned a trip to the Lake District of England in Windermere. We hiked to the top of a mountain, were completely alone, and he proposed! Being that we met in Italy, got engaged at the Lakes District in England, we felt it would be a full circle moment to get married at the Lakes District in Italy.

No bright accent colors, no excessive florals, no additional structures or decorations – we felt as though the beauty of Lake Como and Villa Pizzo spoke for itself, so adding more would take away from the natural beauty of the venue. The only thing that felt like a necessity was the inclusion of orchids somehow (the bride’s favorite flower)

One of the most important and special aspects of the wedding was incorporating our favorite people in special ways. My brothers officiated, my uncle walked me down half of the aisle, our cousin MC’d, another cousin was the ring bearer, and my mother gave a speech. The ceremony itself was very nontraditional and more of a stand-up comedy show than a serious moment. I also loved my first dance with my Baba, because everyone knows our relationship is very goofy, so we took a traditionally sentimental moment and flipped it on its head by starting with a slow song and moving into an upbeat dance.

The design was intentionally organic and refined, allowing the raw beauty of San Galgano Abbey’s open-air ruins to shine. At Borgo Santo Pietro, the aesthetic transitioned into understated luxury: candlelight, textured linens, and soft neutral florals framing a long, candlelit dinner beneath the cypress trees. We wanted guests to feel like they were stepping into a dream — where music, architecture, and nature worked in perfect harmony. Every element, from the orchestra’s soaring notes to the flicker of candlelight at dinner, was meant to evoke a sense of reverence and wonder.

Sam proposed to Anita in Rioja, Spain, atop a breathtaking mountain called San Lorenzo, nearly 7,500 feet above sea level. It was a cloudy morning, and Anita thought they were simply going on a quiet hike — until the trail opened up to reveal sweeping views of the mountain ranges and a sea of clouds below them. As the mist shifted and sunlight broke through, Sam knelt and asked her to marry him. It was an “above-the-clouds” proposal — intimate, spontaneous, and unforgettable — a moment that perfectly captured the adventurous spirit that defines their relationship.

That summer, in 2015, we decided to give our relationship another chance—and this time, it felt different. We quickly fell in love, our connection growing stronger with every shared moment. As we ventured through college, our love was tested in ways we could have never anticipated. Angela’s battle with cancer and the loss of her mother became defining chapters in our journey—moments that revealed the true depth of our devotion and the strength of our faith. Through every hardship, we leaned on one another and on God, discovering that faith was not only our anchor but the cornerstone of our relationship. Guests gathered around platters of roasted branzino, lamb shawarma, and vibrant seasonal mezze, enjoying wines and heartfelt toasts as the sunlight filled the deck. The celebration shifted to the Bluestone patio for a welcome mixer featuring artisan flatbreads, cheese, and charcuterie stations, paired with local craft beers. Lawn games and firelight filled the evening as guests gathered beneath the star-filled sky, capturing the essence of the Catskills perfectly. Saturday’s celebration began with a lakeside ceremony framed by views of the lake and summer greenery. Guests were offered Angela & Jonah’s signature cocktails: a Blushing Paloma and Maple Bourbon Smash during cocktail hour, which could not better describe this pair. Dinner started with Kenoza Hall’s signature popovers and a crisp grilled Caesar salad with preserved lemon. For the main course, guests were offered Filet Rossini, tender beef layered with foie gras and a rich truffle demi-glace; Cedar-Grilled Salmon finished with beurre blanc; or Parisian Gnocchi with roasted maitake mushrooms and za’atar-spiced cauliflower for a modern vegetarian option. Every dish was paired with honey-roasted carrots, fingerling potatoes, and Kenoza Hall’s signature farm-to-table flair. The weekend wrapped with a relaxed Sunday brunch on the sun-filled Bluestone patio, where family and friends were still glowing from the celebration. From the first welcome dinner to the last cup of coffee overlooking the lake, every detail captured Angela & Jonah’s warm, loving vision for the celebration, all set against the timeless Catskills backdrop for Kenoza Hall.

My dress is a Mon Bijou that I found at Savvy Bride. I had very specific dreams for what I wanted in a wedding dress – jacquard fabric, a full skirt, etc. The neckline wasn’t perfect, but the consultant and designer ended up working with me to be able to change it, and I ended up with the dress of my dreams!

This client faced a difficult time when it came to rentals due to unforeseen circumstances. We had to do a full redesign just a few months before the wedding, but we were able to keep the integrity of the overall design while selecting all new pieces. The rentals have a more modern feel when compared to the traditional venue for a fun contrast. The linens create a soft base with subtle pattern and texture without. The place settings feature unique pieces from Maison de Carine, including a chocolate-brown python charger layered with a geometric-textured dinner plate, along with textured glassware and black flatware to complete the look. The napkins are a warm mauve color to tie into the flowers, which are organically designed to create a statement and accent the specialty lighting, which includes chandeliers along with mixed table lamps for an intimate glow.

And naturally, Sweet Caroline had to make an appearance not just once but both before the ceremony and again at the reception!

Lighting plays an important role in any wedding, and this one was no exception! A mix of chandeliers hung low over each guest table to create an intimate feel and to highlight the florals. The head table featured large bronze fixtures, and the square guest tables featured beautiful and unique table lamps surrounded by florals for a statement centerpiece. The tables on the edges of the tent featured rich chocolate velvet sofas on one side for guest seating and modern black lamps behind on sofa tables. The lighting and furniture all led to a lounge feel for dinner.

Emma and Leo became engaged at a property that was already very meaningful to them: Emma’s childhood home. While we considered other venues around New England, we quickly realized that this property, set above a pond in Cape Cod, was the only place that truly made sense. Wanting to take advantage of cooler weather and the coziness of the fall season change, we began planning in the fall of 2024 for a wedding at the property exactly one year later. Aiming for something comfy, seasonal, and completely unstuffy, we went with an “elegant lakeside cottage” feel that would create a transportive experience for guests throughout the day: something a little rustic but also elevated.

Excellent food was a hallmark of the day, and none of it was more important than dessert. During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed a specialty cocktail and two specialized bars as they meandered the property and played antique-style lawn games. They picked through the 360 degree mezze grazing table and enjoyed a variety of passed hors d’oevures. Guests entered the reception tent with a greeting from servers offering champagne, then were seated and enjoyed a seasonal fall menu before a long dance set!

We wanted to enjoy all of the natural beauty that fall has to offer. We leaned into foliage with hints of yellow, orange, and red, and emphasized flowers in a variety of warm and mauve tones. The bride’s favorite flower is sunflower, so we incorporated it with a twist by using a more chocolatey variety so suit the palette and add depth!

Dessert was the couple’s favorite part of the catering. They couldn’t decide on just one thing! The bride did all of the illustrations herself. Our stationer, Steracle, incorporated these into the invitations and into letterpress patterns for the day of stationery. The meandering, whimsical illustrated map in the invitations was all Emma’s brainchild, and we worked a lakeside feel into it by doing a green tree line for the die cut portion at the top and backing it in a blue tone that guests would see when they pulled it out of the envelope. Emma also made the couple’s wood-burnished welcome sign, directional signs around the property, and cork escort card coasters!

Our wedding was very special because we wanted it to tell our story. We love neutral colors because they bring us a sense of peace, and green was the perfect accent because we adore nature. Every detail reflected who we are, including our logo, which featured a maple leaf. Why a maple leaf? It was the first gift Diego gave Sofía. He was traveling in Vermont, and during a casual conversation, I mentioned I’d be happy with just a pine needle. He took that comment to heart, found a beautiful leaf, and carefully brought it back in a little box. For us, that leaf represents how it all began: with a simple but deeply meaningful gesture. We wanted our wedding to tell that story—and it did.

First course: Heart of palm ceviche and portobello stuffed with prosciutto and roasted tomatoes. Second course: Roasted red and yellow bell pepper cream (guests loved it—some asked for seconds!). Third course: Beef filet in three-Chile sauce or red wine and Chile Morita sauce. Guests were welcomed with margaritas, mezcal cocktails, and mojitos. Wine (red and white) was Mexican. Desserts were paired with carajillos, followed by an open bar from Vineira for dancing all night.

Summer-Proof Wedding Hair and Makeup Tips From a Pro

Even though it may not feel this way now – Summer is right around the corner! So we can look forward to long sunny days, days by the pool, and of course, gorgeous outdoor weddings. But, with the warmer weather comes some beauty woes that even the professionals have to consider when making up their brides on the big day.

That’s why we spoke with Megan Garmers, founder of mg hair & makeup, about how she handles brides in the summer season. So whether you are a summer bride or a guest at a summer wedding, she’s got the ultimate advice on how to keep your hair and makeup summer-proof.

1. What are a few things you do special for summer brides to keep their hair & makeup intact?

Depending on the type of skin/hair a bride has, there are different products and combinations that we use to help with longevity of the bridal beauty look. For oily skin, you don’t want to have too many thick layers of product on the face. For hair, you want to make sure the hairspray is a strong hold to last even through the humidity.

2. What hairstyles do you recommend to summer brides?

Generally, the hairstyle should be however the bride feels most comfortable. On a long day at work, if she would normally put her hair up, then we suggest to do a style that would be away from her face and neck. If she feels most comfortable with her hair down, we would suggest half-up or all down depending.

The only other thing to consider (and it sounds gross but it is an important factor…) is whether or not the bride sweats on her neck and back. If so, it is best to have the hair up and away from those areas because no matter how industrial-strength the product is, when the hair is being drenched in sweat, the curl and hair will go limp and the curl and body will be gone.

3. How do you keep makeup from melting/dripping off?

The most important thing to consider for makeup longevity is the skin type. Different types of makeup work better with different types of skin. Keeping the cream or liquid complexion products to thinner layers and using pressed powder as well as powder blush are generally better choices to avoid makeup meltdowns.

4. What are some things you tell brides to do after you leave to keep them looking perfect and sweat-free?

Having brides plan their day so they are not standing in the sun between 11 am-2 pm is the best way to stay sweat-free because those are the peak sun times and will be the hottest. If you feel like you are starting to sweat, it is best to have a paper towel (the cheap brown ones are great) and press the towel on the skin to absorb the sweat/water. It is important not to rub but instead press directly down and up from the skin so the makeup will stay intact.

It is most important to address sweat as it comes up instead of waiting. The longer it stays there, the more opportunity the sweat and oil can mix to start breaking down the makeup from below (at the skin’s surface) as well as from above (sweat dripping down in rivers).

5. What are a few things guests can do at home to keep their own makeup and hair looking great at a summer wedding?

The most important thing is to know your skin and hair type so you can purchase products that are best for you. Putting your hair up is generally going to be the longest lasting because it will be pinned in place. For makeup, if you are a guest, you don’t have the pressure of being in all the photos so you can really focus on one area of your face (eyes or lips) so you can use lightweight products on the other area. Primers can help but be careful not to go overboard or make it too thick. Setting sprays can also be helpful. The good thing is that makeup products today are a million times better than 20 years ago and there are so many options to choose from.

6. Do you have any specific products you gravitate towards in the summer?

Balmain Session Spray is a great strong hold hairspray and holds up even in humid climates. Living Proof Thickening Mousse is also a great choice to help add volume to fine or thin hair. For makeup, Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer is a great choice because it is alcohol-based and waterproof. For lips, Make Up For Ever Aqua Lips are great to use and fill in the entire lip area as a waterproof base to help your lip color last longer.

7. What are some go-to summer makeup and hair looks you recommend?

The best summer looks are ones that last and don’t look too heavy. You can do a smoky eye with a bronze or plum color to add some depth without making it all black or dark. You can also do a darker lip color in a gloss so it is more sheer and seems more summer-y.

Braids are still really popular and can add interest to a simple bun or updo. They also are fairly heat and humidity-resistant so you don’t have worry about if it will look the same by the end of the night.

As a true Virgo, I had already set the wedding date at the Ocean Course, so the proposal just made what we already knew official. I tried on A LOT of wedding dresses. I knew I wanted to feel completely comfortable and like myself — and a lot of the bigger, dramatic gowns made that impossible. When I went to Markarian’s showroom in Flatiron, I knew it was the place for me. Their dresses are custom, so you can mix and match fabrics and silhouettes. They are also unapologetically feminine, which suited me well.

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]My friends were not going to be told what to wear. Ironically, the palette, or lack thereof, came out perfectly. With hues of yellows, pinks, and floral designs, the photos make it look like they all went shopping together. [/field]

Max had never had a custom suit, and he loved every minute of the process. He chose an ice pink shirt, which paired so nicely with the pink florals. My favorite detail is the monogram (his new initials) inside the pink lining.

A Multi-Day Bangladeshi Wedding Blending Vibrant Tradition and Modern Romance

Every day in their upper-level political science class, Hannah sat one row ahead of Ovi. And every day, Ovi found it harder to focus on anything but her. As the semester drew to a close, he knew he had to shoot his shot. Instead of a text, DM, or phone call, he sent the entire class an email inviting them to his group study session. In a follow-up email to Hannah, he slipped in his number and signed off. Hannah never showed up to these sessions until fourteen hours before the final. Hannah discovered her gown while watching it come down the runway at New York Bridal Fashion Week in the fall of 2024. It was the Devotion Gown by Wona Concept. She wore it with a custom (Wona Concept) cathedral-length veil that featured a blusher trimmed in lace, designed to match the delicate lace sleeves of the dress. “I was immediately drawn to the gown. I had been looking for something unique that I had not seen countless times before, but that still felt timeless and classic. The moment I tried it on, I knew I was done searching. With its romantic and whimsical feel, drop basque waist, and dramatic full skirt, the dress made me feel like a true princess.” The bride also wore a custom second look on the wedding day, designed by GL Garlate Designs, a designer from Thailand. She wanted something glamorous and full of sparkle that also included elements of Ovi’s Southeast Asian culture. This designer is well known for creating stage gowns for pageant queens such as Miss Universe, Miss Grand International, and Miss World, so she was confidentthat he could deliver the glitz she wanted. Together, they developed a custom silhouette inspired by a saree to honor Ovi’s culture and traditional Desi fashion. For the Gaye Holud, the bride wore a heavily embellished bridal lehengha from Ladlee in Atlanta, GA.

Food stations at the reception included a Bengali buffet — which included dishes like chicken makhani and goat curry — and a Southern American buffet — which included soul favorites like fried chicken and garlic mashed potatoes.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Guests were welcomed to the final wedding ceremony by a floral-lined aisle that evoked a blooming meadow, with petals spilling over soft grasses in layered color stories. At the altar stood an asymmetrical, organic floral installation framed by the forested backdrop of the property. Inside the Grand Hall, the botanical enchantment continued with elevated centerpieces, bold color, and dramatic installations — aptly coined by the couple as “love blooming boldly.”[/field]

South Asian details were thoughtfully highlighted in the food — including a spread of Bangladeshi desserts served alongside a classic tiered wedding cake.

A Southern Celebration With Coastal Charm and Chinoiserie Flair

All different shades of blue, from soft tone to baby blue, to dark blues and true navy. All accented with touches of ivory and white. Small amounts of blush were sprinkled into the floral design for a unique pop of color.

Caroline and Dalton’s wedding was a fresh take on Southern tradition. The vision was to create a traditional southern blue and white wedding, but with a twist. This wedding beautifully balanced coastal charm with chinoiserie-inspired details, patterned linens, and lush florals that felt at once classic and new.

In April of 2023, Dalton and I were living in Nashville, TN. We had a trip planned to the beach—part work for Dalton, part weekend getaway at my parents’ house. I knew an engagement was coming, but Dalton wouldn’t give me any hints about when it might happen. When we arrived at my parents’ house, we spent the evening catching up with some of our friends. I kept asking my best friend if Dalton had mentioned anything about proposing, and she insisted she didn’t know a thing. I believed her! The next morning, my parents and their best friends—who are like godparents to me—cooked breakfast for everyone. Dalton usually has no trouble eating, but that morning he barely touched his plate. I just assumed he was hungover from the night before. Little did I know, he was incredibly nervous! Originally, Dalton had planned to propose later that evening, but with a storm rolling in, everyone worried it might ruin the moment. So the plan shifted to late morning. We were sitting on the back porch when Dalton suggested we go downstairs by the pool. I thought, “Sure, why not?” Everyone started talking about grabbing Mexican food, so I ran inside to change into jeans—thank goodness I did! When I came back out, Dalton and I were lounging by the pool when he asked if I wanted to walk out to the pier. As we sat there, two dolphins swam by—such a magical touch! Dalton kept checking his Apple Watch, which wasn’t unusual since he gets sports notifications all the time. Then, out of nowhere, he looked up and said, “Let’s head back.” I started walking quickly, and just as we passed through the gate, he stopped me, turned me around, and got down on one knee. He popped the question—yay! As I looked up, I saw my best friend standing on the back porch, surprising me with a “happy basket” full of goodies for a new bride. Dalton did an incredible job making sure the people I love most were there, while still keeping the moment intimate and special.

Guests enjoyed signature cocktails named after the couple’s beloved dogs, “The Birkin,” French 76, and “The Frankie,” Old Fashioned, adding a personal touch to cocktail hour. Seafood and oysters filled the cocktail hour before guests made their way to the dinner that overlooked the bay. Following dinner, they entered the ballroom for late-night bites and martinis!

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The floral design embraced grand scale and texture, with an arch overflowing with white and blue blooms overlooking the bay and matching chinoiserie vases lining the aisle. At the reception, patterned linens and cascading greenery created a layered, organic feel. Tables featured lush hydrangeas, garden roses, and tailored blue-and-white details, from tasseled menus to custom-printed accents designed by a close friend of the bride.[/field]

A simple 3-tiered cake “tied” with a blue fondant bow was a show stopper in the middle of the ballroom, right behind the dance floor, for guests to take a peek at!

This was the first event at the Grand Hotel that allowed us to plan a dinner on their South Bay Lawn that overlooks the water. Following our wedding, multiple people have mimicked our vision since it is now allowed, which we take flatter to! It was so special to get this approved because it was one for the books for sure, and now it is an option for other brides to come to their venue to execute!
