This couple’s summer palette of soft sage green and powder blues was in line with the backdrop of Kenoza Hall and the grassy hill overlooking the lake. Their florals were white and pink, giving romantic garden party vibes.

Written by Angela & Jonah: Our wedding planning journey mirrored the way our relationship has always been: intentional, steady, and full of heart. We dreamed of creating a weekend that reflected who we are—a celebration surrounded by nature, filled with good food, cozy moments, and the warmth of our closest friends and family. With the creative guidance of 5th Avenue Weddings and the timeless charm of Kenoza Hall, that dream became a reality. The wedding weekend began with an intimate, family-style rehearsal dinner on the deck overlooking Kenoza Lake. We welcomed our loved ones with laughter, heartfelt stories, and happy tears, soaking in the joy of having everyone we care about gathered in one place. As the evening continued with drinks on the patio, the air was filled with love, excitement, and anticipation for the day ahead. Our wedding day was the truest reflection of our love story. Every word, every detail, and every moment was thoughtfully curated to embody the essence of us. From getting ready in the Grand Lake Loft and Grand Lake Bungalow, to exchanging vows by the water, to dancing the night away under the golden sunset—our day was everything we had ever dreamed of. Surrounded by family and friends, our love felt magnified, alive in every smile, every embrace, and every song. It was, in every sense, a perfect day. Now, as we begin this next chapter together in Manhattan, we are filled with gratitude and excitement for all that’s to come. We look forward to cherishing the everyday moments, continuing to grow in love and faith, and embracing this beautiful new journey as husband and wife.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]
Written by Angela & Jonah: Our story began in 2012—two kids navigating the ups and downs of high school, unaware that our paths would someday lead us here. We met and fell into a brief whirlwind romance that lasted just two months, but fate had other plans. During our sophomore year, we found ourselves sharing the same English class, and that’s where our friendship truly blossomed. We laughed endlessly, supported each other through teenage trials, and built a bond that would quietly become the foundation of something far greater. By the end of junior year, something between us had changed. The friendship we cherished had deepened into a love neither of us could ignore. That summer, in 2015, we decided to give our relationship another chance—and this time, it felt different. We quickly fell in love, our connection growing stronger with every shared moment. As we ventured through college, our love was tested in ways we could have never anticipated. Angela’s battle with cancer and the loss of her mother became defining chapters in our journey—moments that revealed the true depth of our devotion and the strength of our faith. Through every hardship, we leaned on one another and on God, discovering that faith was not only our anchor but the cornerstone of our relationship. As the years went on, our love continued to flourish. We welcomed our beloved mini goldendoodle, Aldous, into our lives and leaped to Manhattan together. After eight years of growing side by side, we knew we were ready to fully blend our lives—and our Christian and Jewish faiths—by committing to a lifetime together. In August 2023, during a summer getaway to Cape Cod, Jonah got down on one knee as the sun set over the ocean waves. The light danced across the water, and as tears filled our eyes, we both smiled through pure joy. After everything we had overcome, the moment felt like a beautiful victory—one filled with peace, gratitude, and love.

Kenoza Hall was the venue selected by Angela and Jonah for the June 2025 wedding weekend. The celebration blended the refined lakeside elegance with the ease of an upstate getaway. The festivities began on Friday with a cozy, family-style Mediterranean dinner on the Porch overlooking Kenoza Lake. Guests gathered around platters of roasted branzino, lamb shawarma, and vibrant seasonal mezze, enjoying wines and heartfelt toasts as the sunlight filled the deck. The celebration shifted to the Bluestone patio for a welcome mixer featuring artisan flatbreads, cheese, and charcuterie stations, paired with local craft beers. Lawn games and firelight filled the evening as guests gathered beneath the star-filled sky, capturing the essence of the Catskills perfectly. Saturday’s celebration began with a lakeside ceremony framed by views of the lake and summer greenery. Guests were offered Angela & Jonah’s signature cocktails: a Blushing Paloma and Maple Bourbon Smash during cocktail hour, which could not better describe this pair. Dinner started with Kenoza Hall’s signature popovers and a crisp grilled Caesar salad with preserved lemon. For the main course, guests were offered Filet Rossini, tender beef layered with foie gras and a rich truffle demi-glace; Cedar-Grilled Salmon finished with beurre blanc; or Parisian Gnocchi with roasted maitake mushrooms and za’atar-spiced cauliflower for a modern vegetarian option. Every dish was paired with honey-roasted carrots, fingerling potatoes, and Kenoza Hall’s signature farm-to-table flair. The weekend wrapped with a relaxed Sunday brunch on the sun-filled Bluestone patio, where family and friends were still glowing from the celebration. From the first welcome dinner to the last cup of coffee overlooking the lake, every detail captured Angela & Jonah’s warm, loving vision for the celebration, all set against the timeless Catskills backdrop for Kenoza Hall.

From The Cool Rulers: Working with Jonah & Angela was a joy and a breeze. The couple’s musical tastes complemented each other perfectly, and their Detroit connection made it so fun for us to come up with a Motown-heavy setlist. Getting Jonah up on drums for a couple of songs was a highlight of the night for everyone. *note: Jonah performed on-stage as a drummer during the reception (photos in gallery)

Custom Fabric Flowers (as shown in flat lay details with jewelry and shoes): For Angela & Jonah’s wedding, we had the privilege of creating flowers using fabric from Angela’s late mother’s wedding dress. We transformed pieces of the gown into custom blooms, including a boutonniere for Jonah, so her presence and memory could be carried into their day. It was a very meaningful project for us.

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]From the cinematographers (Sweet Start Weddings):
There are some wedding days that feel like pure poetry — and Angela & Jonah’s celebration at the timeless Kenoza Hall was exactly that. From soft morning light spilling over the hills to the laughter echoing beneath the tent when the rain began to fall, every moment was a reminder of what makes love so beautifully real. At Sweet Start, we live for these stories — the quiet glances, the joyful chaos, the emotion that lingers long after the day ends. Working alongside such an incredible team of vendors to bring Angela & Jonah’s vision to life was an absolute honor, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see their love story featured on Style Me Pretty.[/field]
